#TechStandsWithPP: A message from Tumblr’s CEO and Planned Parenthood’s president

When Planned Parenthood was founded a century ago, it was illegal to even hand out information about birth control. Thanks to generations of brave women and men who formed secret societies, challenged unjust laws, and started Planned Parenthood health centers in their own towns, we’ve come a long way since. Millions of people, regardless of income or insurance coverage, now have access to birth control, cancer screenings, and STI testing and treatment. Each year, Planned Parenthood proudly provides health information to nearly 70 million people online and 1 million people in classrooms and communities across the country. Today, America is at a 30-year low in unintended pregnancy and a historic low in teen pregnancy.

But all of that progress is a reminder of how much women and men in America now stand to lose. Extreme politicians at every level of government are doing everything they can to block millions of people from coming to Planned Parenthood, deny access to affordable health care, and roll back women’s rights over their own bodies. We are facing a national health disaster, especially in our most vulnerable communities.

That’s why we’re calling on the tech industry to join Tumblr in standing with Planned Parenthood and standing up for access to health care.

A 100-year-old health care provider and the platform powering 335 million blogs may seem like an unlikely pair. But over the last few years, Tumblr and Planned Parenthood have teamed up to provide information and organize communities in support of reproductive rights. We’re proud of all we’ve accomplished together and with overwhelming support from the Tumblr community.

Technology has become instrumental in the fight for fairness and equality across a range of issues. It has the power to influence public debate, mobilize communities, and — most importantly — offer creative solutions to help people receive better care, no matter where they live or who they are. Finally, the tech industry owes its success to the brilliant people it employs and the communities it serves — and we cannot take their health for granted.

It won’t be easy, but doing nothing isn’t an option when lives are at stake. We need to work together to break down barriers to care and information for the millions of people desperate to take ownership of their sexual and reproductive health, and tackle disparities in health care access and outcomes.

Now is the time to be vocal, visible, and active in your support of Planned Parenthood — starting with the #TechStandsWithPP hashtag to share stories about how Planned Parenthood has touched your life, or the life of anyone you know. Call on your co-workers and peers to do the same.

In health care, education, and nearly every industry, we’re doing things that would have been unthinkable a century ago. Think of all we can achieve together in the decades to come if we combine the creativity, innovation, and energy of the tech community with Planned Parenthood’s commitment to helping people everywhere — no matter what.

How do I guess a rising sign! I can't tell if my mans that's not really my mans is a Leo rising or a Gemini rising or a Taurus rising or a cap rising or a cancer rising sdndbsbd anyways how can i take a stab at that And get it right? I know he's a Leo sun

Well you can ask him for his birth information first, they usually tell you and if they don’t know. Tell them to call their mom/check their birth certificate lol, if they can’t for whatever reason. Then time for the guessing game!

Fixed risings (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) usually are easier to identify, they have a presence about them. Big personalities even if they do seem shy. Taurus risings have a calmness and gracefulness to them. Leo risings can have the brightest face and amazing clothes. Scorpio risings can feel like they’re drawing you in and they can have a mischievous element to them. Aquarius risings always have something that feels (maybe even looks) different about them. They could also have long limbs or fingers

Cardinal risings (Aries, cancer, libra, Capricorn) are a hit or miss but there are some key characteristics to each rising sign. Aries risings can be very friendly but you can tell that they aren’t afraid to flip someone off. Cancer risings seem so sweet, they can have big eyes and can be kind of affectionate. Libra risings always seem very polite and you can just tell that they watch what they do a little. Capricorn risings can be the kind of quiet kind (or seem like it) but you can tell that there’s always a lot on their mind

Mutable risings (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) are harder to spot because they can be so many things and can blend in very well. Gemini risings have very bright eyes usually and it seems like they can move on from topic to topic quickly. Virgo risings can be kind of quiet with strange surroundings but they always notice and is ‘alert’. Sagittarius risings can be very fun to be around but somehow they can still switch to serious mode every now and then. Pisces risings seem to be very out of this world, like their mind is somewhere else but they can have dreamy eyes and can soak up emotion around them

Okay, but can we appreciate that when told to murder someone in cold blood, Terra’s response is to ask what this person did.

Either he cares enough about people to ask why they’re so upset, even people who have just proven to be malicious and coldhearted, or he can’t comprehend wanting to hurt someone without a justifiable reason.

Either way, Terra is a sensitive man and he Needs More Appreciation.

Take a moment just to be still, to be here, regardless of what is passing through you. Recognize that you are the hereness that all is passing through. All the changes, sights, sounds, smells, emotions, thoughts, information, events, births, and deaths are all passing through the ever-present stillness that is here now in the core of your being.

The houses are mathematical points that signify areas of life. The signs of the Zodiac show how the planets express themselves, and the houses show where the planets’ energies are confined to, primarily directed at, or most prominently displayed. They each have a mode, element, and natural ruling sign.

Angular: These are the most salient houses. They have a direct, often immediate impact on the individual’s expression, lifestyle, and decisions. The first, fourth, seventh, and tenth houses are angular.
Succedent: These houses have less to do with our general impact on the world around us or our behavior and are instead associated with more personal desires, inclinations, and attitudes. The second, fifth, eighth, and eleventh are succedent houses.
Cadent: It is within these houses that lessons are learned, information is distributed, change takes place, and the individual discovers more about the world or themselves. The cadent houses are the third, sixth, ninth, and twelfth.

Fire: the fire houses primarily concern attitude & identity. They shape the individual’s worldview, their opinion of themselves, the way they handle their opportunities and misfortunes, the way they utilize their talents, et cetera.
Earth: the earth houses primarily concern material needs. The individual’s state in the practical realm is associated with them – their wealth, home, security, possessions, health, and what they consider to be desideratum.
Air: the air houses primarily concern social concepts. Communication, charity, intelligence, education, connections, collective developments, societal opinions, and interaction with community are associated with these houses.
Water: the water houses primarily concern the soul. Self-discovery, emotions, personal depth, yearnings, psychic abilities, comprehension of non-cerebral ideas, spirituality, and the inner world are subject to these houses.

The houses have ruling signs, but they do not belong to their ruling signs. They simply help to define each other, and are familiar with each other since their themes are congruent. The first house is ruled by Aries, the second house is ruled by Taurus, the third house is ruled by Gemini, the fourth house is ruled by Cancer, and so on throughout the Zodiac.

How do they physically work? Like… in space? As I said, the houses are mathematical points; they’re based on the individual’s specific location and time of birth. The natal chart is a snapshot of what space looks like from earth, so the signs & planets move throughout the houses as we see them. The first and seventh house cusps represent the horizon at one’s birth place.

A house is considered to be in a sign when the sign is on its beginning cusp. A planet is considered to be in a house when it is between two house cusps. The signs are always exactly 30°, but the houses can be virtually any size if you’re using the Placidus house system (which I think is the most reliable). There are a TON of house systems other than Placidus, but if you want to look into them, make sure you’re prepared for a lot of astronomy and mathematics.

If you do use Placidus (and any other non-equal house system) though, I should tell you about interceptions. It’s called an interception when a house is big enough to contain an entire sign within its cusps so that two houses will be in one sign. For example, I have Sagittarius on the cusp of both my 12th and 1st houses because Capricorn is intercepted in my natal chart. If one sign is intercepted, it’s sister sign will be too (the “sister sign” is simply the sign on the opposite side of the Zodiac wheel – so Cancer is also intercepted in my chart).

The First House: Angular // Fire // Aries
(AKA Rising or Ascendant)

The first house is about how the individual presents their identity. This is where one’s place in one’s environment is formed, experienced, and understood. The Ascendant describes how the native sees the world and how the native is seen by the world. The other planets generally filter through the Ascendant, in a way, before or as they are expressed.

The Second House: Succedent // Earth // Taurus
The second house is about how the individual secures themselves. Possessions and money are closely involved with this house; how materialistic the native is, how the native handles their finances, how the native may be able to earn wealth, and what the native needs to feel safe & comfortable are all things the second house describes.

The Third House: Cadent // Air // Gemini
The third house is about how the individual learns, thinks, and communicates on a daily, commonplace level. It describes one’s speech & thought patterns, the way one absorbs information and speaks it back into their environment, how one comprehends their daily life and converses (casually) with the people they spend most of their time with. It’s associated with “lower learning.”

The Fourth House: Angular // Water // Cancer
(AKA Imum Coeli [IC])

The fourth house is about how the individual was raised and how that affects their idea of home. The Imum Coeli describes the marks the native’s past has made on their psyche, how they feel about their childhood and how they felt during it, how they send down roots, if and how they settle down, how they make their home, and what they do with their history.

The Fifth House: Succedent // Fire // Leo
The fifth house is about how the individual pursues creativity. Children, art, romance, and hobbies are associated with this house, as it describes how the native creates, what they create, how they act and feel around children, how they fall in love and what they’re like when dating, what they do for fun, their passions, and how they express themselves through creations.

The Sixth House: Cadent // Earth // Virgo
The sixth house is about how the individual takes care of themselves. Their routine, job, work ethic, and health are described by this house. This is where the native learns how to sustain themselves physically and financially, figure out what hurts them, how to get rid of the things that don’t help them, and how to use their abilities to their benefit.

The Seventh House: Angular // Air // Libra
(AKA Descendant)

The seventh house is about how the individual deals with partnerships. This includes their desire for relationships both romantic and platonic, their needs in relationships, the kind of partner they look for, and how they view marriage and commitments. It’s also the house directly across from the Ascendant, which represents how one sees oneself, so the Descendant may indicate some of the things the native chooses not to see in themselves but projects onto others.

The Eighth House: Succedent // Water // Scorpio
The eighth house is about how the individual handles controversy, secrets, and inheritance. It describes how they search for the truth (as well as whether they want to know it and how they handle it), their trust, their view of taboo subjects, their attitude toward death and sex, their comfort level with darkness, and a number of other related things. Money is also associated with this house.

The Ninth House: Cadent // Fire // Sagittarius
The ninth house is about how the individual searches for knowledge on a deeper, more profound level. Journeys, philosophy, exploration, religion, and anything that can be qualified as “higher learning” are subject to this house. The individual’s worldview, opinions, morals, personal philosophies, and comprehension of humanity, God, and the universe are described here.

The Tenth House: Angular // Earth // Capricorn
(AKA Medium Coeli [MC] or Midheaven)

The tenth house is about how the individual establishes a name for themselves. This is where the native becomes and acts like a professional. Their career, business choices, reputation, public image, overt persona, and their community’s or audience’s general opinion & view of them are associated with this house. It says a lot about the jobs one accepts & pursues.

The Eleventh House: Succedent // Air // Aquarius
The eleventh house is about how the individual impacts society. Friendships, community, charity, invention, originality, ideas, kindness, and the like are associated with this house. It describes the native’s hopes and dreams, the way they apply them to other people, and how they help others in a more general, indirect way (through causes and such).

The Twelfth House: Cadent // Water // Pisces
The twelfth house is about how the individual experiences spirituality. All that is hidden, unknown, confined, trapped, misunderstood, shrouded in otherworldly fog, and mysterious is subject this house. Institutions (hospitals, prisons, et cetera) as associated with the twelfth house, as are self-discovery and transformation by way of eradicating old shells to make way for the new. It is also said to describe the past life and karmic energies of the native.

The End Of The Line

Part one of two.

In this theory I’m going to try and unravel the notorious Mary Drake and her family. Since she has been a very big part of 7A and is likely to remain relative to our endgame, I wanted to try and dig deeper.

Who is Mary Drake, who are her children, who is Bethany Young, and who is A.D.?

Mary Drake had at least three or four children while she was in Radley and they were all adopted through closed adoptions conducted by Steven Kahn and Jessica DiLaurentis, Mary’s twin sister and POA.

  1. Charles Drake
  2. Melissa Hastings
  3. Bethany Young (?)
  4. Spencer Hastings

(In part two I will discuss further why I put these names on the list)

Since Dr. Cochran says, “I dealt with two of her babies” instead of “I delivered her two babies” I’m lead to believe that Mary had more than those two, possibly three or four in total if she had a set of twins. Especially since in the files that the Liars discovered they found the birth information of the second born child, and on that file it states “no complications due to prior birth”. But Dr. Cochran tells Spencer and Aria that the second child he delivered was a fighter, implying that the birth may have been difficult. This means that the second baby born and the second baby he delivered are two different babies.

Spencer is the youngest.

7x08 vs. 7x07

The Drake family is the family from the Dollhouse.

Mary Drake, unknown Mr. Drake (looks like Peter Hastings, no?), Charles, Melissa and baby-in-the-womb Spencer. (Notice the hand on the mothers stomach, like she is pregnant)

Bethany Young stole her childhood best friends story - Charles Drake / DiLaurentis. She didn’t want to get caught by the Liars so she created the perfect web of lies that would be nearly impossible to dissect.

Bethany suffered from Intermittent Explosive Disorder and with that she also created many different personalities, one of them being “Cece Drake”. Cece and Bethany Young had the same diagnosis, and that is mighty convenient, eh? Dr. Jekyll and Hyde?

Intermittent Explosive Disorder:  “A behavioral disorder characterized by explosive outbursts of anger and violence, often to the point of rage, that are disproportionate to the situation at hand.”

“The discovery of Bethany Young’s body brings up more questions than it answers. While details are scarce on Bethany Young, we know that she was a highly troubled teenager who likely suffered from severe behavioral episodes that may have been violent.”

Bethany Young = Cece Drake.

Bethany met Charles when they were kids in Radley Sanitarium and they became quick friends, allies. Together they wanted to create an escape from Radley and start new lives, all with the perfect plan and story.Charles was going to help Bethany fake her death using Alison’s body and together they were going to run away and start over. Be new people.

This is where I believe they came up with the idea to switch places. To literally assume one another identities to confuse the doctors and everyone they know, as some type of game.

(Like Bethany literally switched lives with Charles and became Cece Drake, which is why Charles was thought to have been transgender. And Charles switched with Bethany and became whom I would call ‘A.D’)

Bethany liked to “switch places” or adopt the personalities of multiple people, in fact. First Charles and then Alison. A pattern.

Remember when Bethany as Cece Drake and Ali switched places, and she went back to Radley disguised as Alison DiLaurentis just to scare Jessica? We hear about this in 4x11 in a flashback.

Then Jessica tells Spencer and Hanna about Cece Drake pretending to be Alison at Radley once, where she met Dr. Palmer who was a psychiatrist there.

This makes a connection between Cece and Dr. Palmer. And Dr. Palmer told Toby Cavanaugh to be careful of the toxic blonde girl, which was declared as Bethany Young.

- The 4x11 flashback -

(Notice how Mrs. DiLaurentis says that Cece Drake is not her daughter. Because Cece Drake is Bethany not Charles, and Bethany is not Jessica’s daughter, but more than likely her niece since “Auntie Jessie”)

I feel as if Jessica would have said something different if Cece was the little girl she was buying yellow dresses for all along. Jessica saw Charles as her own child, and she even says this to her sister Mary Drake in a flashback scene in 7x07 that was set back in season four.

Jessica: “Come on Mary, pull yourself together.”

Mary: “How could you be so cruel? I just found out that my child is dead. I left him in your care.”

Jessica: “And I gave Charles the best life that I could, Mary. I loved him with all of my heart.”

Mary: “How did it happen? I need to know. I need answers. Please, tell me.”

Jessica: “It wasn’t my fault. I gave him everything that I could.”

And then she says, “You are not the victim here. You gave birth, but he was my son. Don’t ever forget that.”

Charles Drake DiLaurentis is A.D. Whomever they are, they are without a doubt in my mind our big bad. The ultimate play-caller. In my opinion the identity of Charles remains a mystery and will more than likely be the final twist coming in 7B. Charles is a man - and is not Cece Drake.

Troian Bellisario who plays Spencer is 5′7″ and Vanessa Ray who played Cece Drake is only 5′4″ so this cannot be her as Charles.

(Julian Morris who plays Wren is 5′11″ and so is Ian Harding who plays Ezra.  I understand that this could be literally any actor or staff member in this costume acting as ‘A’ but… I felt the significance and the familiarity that Spencer did in this scene, too. This was Charles.)

Now, given what I said earlier about how it is possible that Bethany and Charles switched lives when they were children….

Did Bethany somehow weasel her way out of Radley by pretending to be Charles? According to the Radley files Charles was taken out of Radley when he was sixteen, but was that actually Bethany? Did she “transform” into Cece Drake and go back to High School?

Is that why Charles was seeking revenge? And is that why he kidnapped the Liars and threw the dungeon prom, which was recreating the prom he would have had? Was he somehow connected to the N.A.T videos or did he just watch them all of the time, leaving him to feel like he knew the Liars?  (Just like us? Just like EzrA?)

Could Ezra be Charles?

What do we really know about Ezra Fitz, other than the fact that he comes from a rich family named the Fitzgerald’s?

Is it possible that he was at some point adopted again by them? Is he Charles?

Hint #1 : The Painting

3x18 vs.5x03

Lyle and Frances Springer - Alison and Charles’ grandparents? (Plot hole?)

Hint #2 : Mrs. Grumwald

This is right before we learn that Ezra was the “Board Shorts” Alison wrote about in her diary, and that he is the one who she was dating the summer. We know Ezra is Board Shorts because Ali describes him in her story and states that he is eating boysenberry pie and “Board Shorts Ale” beer.

In 4x18 Spencer goes to the bar she thinks Alison is talking about in that same story which is called The Hart and the Huntsman. To her surprise, she finds Ezra sitting there eating a piece of boysenberry pie.

Was Ezra also the same boy Ali was afraid of, the one that would kill her if he knew she were possibly pregnant?

Hint #3 : Aria Montgomery

5x03 vs. 7x07

In the “A” closer we see A.D. save Aria’s file, and burn Noel’s….

I’m not saying Ezra is 100% Charles or A.D., I’m just saying that he is still a very strong candidate.

The writers can go two directions in my eyes - EzrA or Doctor Wren and Melissa. One of them HAS to be A.D. or working for/with them.

Liam Payne up all night to finish album before Cheryl gives birth
One Direction hunk Liam Payne is reported to be eschewing sleep and spending nights shut away in a north London recording studio in order to get his album finished before Cheryl gives birth.

He is about to become a father at the tender age of 23 - but he is not about to let his musical ambitions fade.  One Direction hunk Liam Payne is reportedly eschewing sleep and spending nights shut away in a north London recording studio.

And the star is apparently working so hard in order to get his studio album finished before Cheryl gives birth so that he can be on hand to help the new mum.  Liam posted a serious-looking shot of his recording efforts on social media earlier this week after fans spotted him around Sound Tracks studio in north London.

A source close to the young dad-to-be told The Sun: ’[Liam] will be a father any day now so he’s in London and has his phone on loud so he can rush to her side immediately if he has to.

‘But until that happens he will continue spending as much time in the studio as he can. It’s not ideal right now but it will mean he’s completely free to dote on mum and baby when the time quickly comes.'

But the strenuous schedule, which includes driving in from Surrey where he is currently living with Cheryl, is taking its toll on the international hearthrob.

The source added: 'But it’s fair to say he’s already completely knackered due to this schedule. People at the studio only see him at night and he locks himself away from 9pm until 4 or 5 in the morning, only taking an occasional cigarette break.’

Rumours circulated in the past weeks that Cheryl had already given birth, though this new information suggests the baby is yet to arrive. And last Thursday Liam shared a snap of a new tattoo on his arm featuring the year of his birth, 1993, perhaps in recognition of his being about to become a father.

Other than the image, Liam has kept increasingly quiet on social media in recent months as both he and Cheryl have withdrawn from making regular posts.

While she’s yet to publicly confirm that she’s expecting her first child with Liam, Cheryl’s bulging baby bump has all but announced the news.

Cheryl and Liam first met in 2008 when he was an aspiring teenage contestant on The X Factor and she was a judge.  Baby-faced Liam was 14 when he first auditioned for the show but he returned as a solo artist in 2010 only to be partnered with Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, who went on to become global boyband One Direction.

They went public with their romance in February, just weeks after Cheryl announced her split from second husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini after 18 months of marriage. But the genetically-blessed twosome are said to have started dating in secret as early as December 2015. Cheryl first showed off her bump before Christmas when she attended the Fayre of St. James Christmas Concert in London in November.

My best guess on the desire to refer to people by the sex they were assigned at birth (I refuse to accept the frame of 'misgender') is that it's what hardcore Christian types have to do to comply with Telos or whatever.

Oh, come on.

The thing the right is doing is not ‘refer to people by the sex they were assigned at birth’.

When they see somebody, they assume their gender just like virtually everyone else does. Deep voice, facial hair, pronounced jaw, wearing male clothes? Gets a he pronoun. Shorter, different voice, different facial features? Gets a she pronoun. You do not use the rule ‘refer to people by the sex they were assigned at birth’, no one does.

Here are some experiences we might want a word to describe. What if someone’s presentation is ambiguous? In my experience lots of people hazard a guess anyway and round the person off to whichever of ‘male’ and ‘female’ seems closer. Some people just feel extremely awkward and upset and act like the person is not a person. Some people ask and do what the person requests. Some people default to ‘they’.

And what if someone’s presentation is quite clear, but does not seem to match their physical features? For example, they have a receding hairline and a strong jaw but are wearing makeup and a pretty dress? Here again some people are deeply uncomfortable and decline to acknowledge the person, some people presume the person is presenting in ways associated with being gendered ‘she’ because they want to be gendered ‘she’ and use that, some people ask and do what the person requests, and some people decide that this person is Really A Man and use ‘he’.

Again, that behavior is not an assessment of the person’s sex assigned at birth, it is an assessment of what they kindaaaa look like. This has happened to cis women I know of. Their birth assignment didn’t help, since they didn’t happen to be carrying it around (and in some places you can change the gender on your birth certificate anyway). What’s going on here is ‘this person looks like a man to me so I’ll call them ‘he’ regardless of what they want or what they were assigned at birth or what’s biologically accurate.’

A Weekend in Paris

I’m dedicating this chapter to @sand1128 and @zombeeemomeee. Sue and Nette never hesitate to lend and ear or tell me what’s what. They talked me out of changing the first paragraph. I worried about it and spent a lot of time getting it just right. They along with my other support system, @hiheyhowdyhi, Courtney, Kayla and @spamiam77 are all awesome and I’m very lucky they are on my side.

A Weekend in Paris

Chapter 8

Monday July 17, 2023, Pappy Joe’s Ranch

He reached for the warm body next to him, he was cold and needed her heat. As he was pulling her to him she turned in his arms so that she was facing him. She was having trouble sleeping and he was all she could think about. She needed him. She needed him like the earth needs the rain. He was essential to her being and she drew strength from him. She thought he was asleep but when she looked at his face his eyes were open. She looked at his lips seeing that his eyes were on hers. She put her arms around him and ran her fingers through his hair. She moved her head towards his as he was moving his towards her and their lips met in the gentlest of kisses, he pulled back but she pulled him back in for another that was a bit longer. She wanted so badly to deepen it. He ended the kiss and pulled back again. She was beautiful and he couldn’t take his eyes off her. Her hair was in a braid and soft wisps had escaped in the night and they framed her face just so, making her even more beautiful, if possible. He leaned in for another kiss, this one longer and when she gently sucked on his bottom lip and bit down on it, he knew what she wanted. She ran her tongue along his bottom lip and he let her deepen the kiss. She ran her fingers down his back. He was getting goose bumps from the feel of her touch on his bare skin. He had on a muscle shirt but she somehow managed to get her hands underneath it. They were laying on their sides facing each other and as they kissed, he rolled her to her back so that he was on top of her. He had his hands at her waist and pulled the tank top she had on up so that he could feel the silkiness of her skin. Everything about her was so soft and warm. He could stay like this forever. She had managed to get a leg free of the blankets and had it entwined with his. They kissed until the need for air won out. She turned her attention to his ear, nibbling on the lobe. She heard a moan and made her way to his neck, planting kisses and biting him gently, she knew he liked that. She was driving him crazy with the soft teasing bites on his neck. If he didn’t stop her, things were going to get out of hand and he wouldn’t be able to stop himself. He said her name and she just kept on. She somehow managed to catch him off guard and flipped them over so that she was now on top and straddling him.  They had agreed to making out, and that’s what he thought was going on. She wanted to take it further and doing that here, in this house somehow felt wrong. She wasn’t stopping though, she had his shirt in her hands, slowly raising it up, while her lips were still exploring his neck. The woman in his arms was all that mattered to him and he couldn’t deny her anything. She had this power over him that made him forget where he was. He sat himself up and kissed her again. They only parted for her to remove his shirt and toss it across the room. He moved to her neck taking advantage of the sensitive spot there just behind her ear, the faint scent of the honeysuckle scented perfume lingering there. His hands were at her waist, slowly raising her shirt, while she raked her fingernails lightly over his back, feeling his taut muscles. He had her shirt just below her breasts and was about to take it off her when there was a knock at the door. They stopped and remained silent. There was another knock at the bedroom door.

Hello!! Do you have any good astrology sources? I'm a baby witch and I have absolutely no idea how to read an astrology chart or what a retrograde is, etc etc. I'm very interested, but I have absolutely no idea what any of this stuff means ;; thank you!!

Yes! :D

The first book I read was actually just “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Astrology”. It does a really good job of covering the basics, but some of their descriptions are a little shallow and ignore big parts of astrology’s flexibility and complexity. You could also look through some of the descriptions on, they’re excellent.

For additional reading, I would highly suggest reading Alan Oken’s Complete Astrology and Sue Tompkins’ Aspects in Astrology. Additionally, read as much mythology as you can. Astrology is all based on archetypal energies and mythology is a great place to get more familiar with some of the same things you’ll see in astrology.

Before you do any major research, I would suggest all beginners have a good idea of what their chart looks like! I recommend It’s totally free, and you can get anything from a simple chart to a really complicated analysis without paying anything.

Mouse over the “Free Horoscopes” section of the menu. At the bottom right of the pop-up menu, beneath the “Drawings and Calculations” heading, choose “Extended Chart Selection.” Then you’ll enter your birth information - I can’t remember if you have to make an account, but it’s free and then it will save your information so you don’t have to enter it again.

Start off by doing the Natal Chart Wheel under Circular charts. This will give you a basic idea of your placements and aspects. Knowing your own chart will help you understand astrology as a whole, because you’ll be able to make direct comparisons to your own life.

After you’ve looked at your simple chart, I would definitely suggest getting one of the extended ones. To get an extended chart, choose “Pullen/Astrolog” as the “Method”. For “Chart Type” select “Simple chart delineation by Walter Pullen”. You can ignore the options section - I’ve never used it for anything. Finally, you can add asteroids in the “Additional Objects” section, which I would highly recommend! If you do, I would add Lilith, Chiron, Ceres, Juno, Pallas, and Vesta, then check off the “to all objects” box under “Aspects.” Now you can click the button and take a look at your chart!

The chart is pretty long, but don’t get discouraged! The more your read about astrology and study your own chart the easier it gets to make sense of things. A few months ago I could hardly remember the order of the zodiac signs, but things are totally different now. Feel free to ask me any other questions you may have :)

Check out 100 Years, a new star-studded short animated film that covers Planned Parenthood’s century of care, information, and activism.

The film highlights major moments from Planned Parenthood’s history, including why Margaret Sanger began providing birth control information; the decisions in the Supreme Court cases Griswold v. Connecticut and Roe v. Wade, which legalized birth control and abortion in America; the emergence of the devastating and discriminatory Hyde Amendment; and the Planned Parenthood of today.

The film is narrated by Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Lena Dunham, Gina Rodriguez, Mindy Kaling, America Ferrera, Constance Wu, Amy Schumer, Hari Nef, Andrew Rannells, Sasheer Zamata, and Tessa Thompson, as well as Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards.

Emma Goldman (June 27, 1869 – May 14, 1940) was an anarchist known for her political activism, writing, and speeches. She played a pivotal role in the development of anarchist political philosophy in North America and Europe in the first half of the 20th century.

Born in Kovno, Russian Empire (present-day Kaunas, Lithuania), Goldman emigrated to the United States in 1885. Attracted to anarchism after the Haymarket affair, Goldman became a writer and a renowned lecturer on anarchist philosophy, women’s rights, and social issues, attracting crowds of thousands. She and anarchist writer Alexander Berkman, her lover and lifelong friend, planned to assassinate industrialist and financier Henry Clay Frick as an act of propaganda of the deed. Frick survived the attempt on his life in 1892 and Berkman was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Goldman was imprisoned several times in the years that followed, for “inciting to riot” and illegally distributing information about birth control. In 1906, Goldman founded the anarchist journal Mother Earth.

In 1917, Goldman and Berkman were sentenced to two years in jail for conspiring to “induce persons not to register” for the newly instated draft. After their release from prison, they were arrested—along with hundreds of others—and deported to her native Russia. Initially supportive of that country’s Bolshevik revolution, Goldman reversed her opinion in the wake of the Kronstadt rebellion and denounced the Soviet Union for its violent repression of independent voices. In 1923, she published a book about her experiences, My Disillusionment in Russia. While living in England, Canada, and France, she wrote an autobiography called Living My Life. After the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, she traveled to Spain to support the anarchist revolution there. She died in Toronto on May 14, 1940, aged 70.

During her life, Goldman was lionized as a free-thinking “rebel woman” by admirers, and denounced by detractors as an advocate of politically motivated murder and violent revolution. Her writing and lectures spanned a wide variety of issues, including prisons, atheism, freedom of speech, militarism, capitalism, marriage, free love, and homosexuality. Although she distanced herself from first-wave feminism and its efforts toward women’s suffrage, she developed new ways of incorporating gender politics into anarchism. After decades of obscurity, Goldman’s iconic status was revived in the 1970s, when feminist and anarchist scholars rekindled popular interest in her life.

reproductive rights issues:

  • abortion
  • birth control

also reproductive rights issues:

  • doctors performing c sections during births without informed consent
  • eugenics via sterilization requirements for trans people to change documentation
  • eugenics via forced/nonconsenting sterilization of disabled people
  • eugenics via forced/nonconsenting sterilization of people of color
  • eugenics via selective abortion of disabled fetuses (fetuses with Down syndrome especially) (these are abortions sought by people who WANT to be pregnant–but only with non-disabled children, when there’s absolutely no guarantee that a non-disabled child won’t become disabled)

if your reproductive rights activism doesn’t incorporate ALL OF THE ABOVE, i want no part of it.

Hey, I'm really interested in astrology but I'm sO new to it and there's sO much more to astrology than just the zodiac signs. I have no idea where to start with all the "Suns" and "Moons" and "Capricorn Rising" fancy stuff. It would be really great if you could sort of explain some of the basics or post a link to a website that could explain it. I've tried google but I done even know what to type in the search engine! Thx 💜 xoxo

Hello, love!! So I promised someone I’d make a big masterpost on astrological basics tonight! So I think this will be my masterpost haha! Let me know if you have any questions!

So everyone is born with a natal chart, which defines where the sun, moon, and all the planets are located at the time of your birth. Each zodiac sign takes up 30-degrees of the total celestial orb thing (like the whole sky), and your natal chart says which sign each planet is within!

So if, at your birth, the sun is in the divide designated to Taurus, then your sun sign is Taurus (your sun sign is the sign most people already know since it’s based on your birthday), and if Jupiter is in the divide designated to Cancer, then your Jupiter sign is Cancer! (other signs are harder to track since they vary from year to year, if that makes sense)

Each planet is associated with a different part of your personality. Like Mercury is associated with logic and communication, and Saturn is associated with your restrictions and your responses to authority. And each zodiac sign has a set of traits. So if your Mercury sign is Libra, then you have Libra traits when it comes to logic and communication.

You can’t figure all your signs out by yourself unless you have a special book called an ephemerides which tracks the positions of all the planets at all times using tables. But you can find all your signs online at Put in your birth information, and it will give you a table with all of your signs (in the first column of that table)!

Here are the traits associated with each sign:

  • Aries: impulsivness, aggressiveness, an active nature
  • Taurus: romantic, patient, hard-working, stubborn
  • Gemini: analytical, talkative, adaptable
  • Cancer: caring, defensive, motherly
  • Leo: loyal, passionate, powerful
  • Virgo: humble, critical, perfectionist
  • Libra: romantic, social, peaceful
  • Scorpio: passionate, jealous, intense
  • Sagittarius: honest, optimistic, idealistic
  • Capricorn: determined, hardworking, cold
  • Aquarius: unemotional, social, humanitarian
  • Pisces: dreamy, artistic, emotional

Here are what the planets represent:

  • Sun: your basic personality
  • Moon: your emotions and inner personality
  • Mercury: your communication and logic
  • Mars: your anger and reaction to sex
  • Venus: your relationships and reaction to beauty
  • Jupiter: things that expand you, good luck
  • Saturn: things that limit you, your reaction to authority
  • Uranus: your reaction to progress and innovation
  • Neptune: your dreams, illusions
  • Pluto: your secrets

Signs are classified by an element, duality, and mode/quality! Each sign is a different combination of element and mode.

Here are the elements:

  • FIRE (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius): active, creative, outgoing
  • EARTH (Taurus, Virgo, Cap): practical, determined, emotional restricted
  • AIR (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius): social, witty, intelligent
  • WATER (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces): emotional, nurturing, receptive

Here are the dualities:

  • PASSIVE/FEMININE (all earth and water signs): introverted
  • ACTIVE/MASCULINE (all fire and air signs): extroverted

Here are the qualities:

  • CARDINAL (Aries, Capricorn, Libra, Cancer): dynamic, brave
  • FIXED (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius): stubborn, stable
  • MUTABLE (Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, Sagittarius): flexible and adaptable

So there are 12 houses, and astronomically, they are based on the rotation of the earth about its axis. Rather than your birthday, your birth time and location determine the positions of the houses at your birth. So two people born on the same day at widely different locations or at different times don’t have the same house positions!

Your houses positions are indicated by the sign they start in at your birth! Like, below is my own personal chart!

There is an outer ring with all the zodiac signs, right? And you see below that ring is a second ring with lines that don’t really line up with the lines on the outer ring? Those are the divisions of my houses! On the far left, there is a thick black line, right? The chunk under that thick line and above the next line counterclockwise is my first house. Even though most of the 1st house is in Libra, my 1st house is technically in Virgo because that is where it starts. Your first house is also known as your rising sign, so Virgo is my rising sign! There is one planet in my first house, Venus (the dark green sign in that chunk). The next chunk is my 2nd house, and it continues around the wheel counterclockwise! So my 7th house is in Pisces, for example! Because the 7th chunk from the far left counterclockwise starts in Pisces!

Now each house dictates a different part of your life! Here is what each one dictates!

  • House 1: your self (AKA your rising sign, which shows how you come across to other people)
  • House 2: your possessions
  • House 3: communication
  • House 4: the home
  • House 5: creativity and sex
  • House 6: service and health
  • House 7: partnership and marriage
  • House 8: death and regeneration
  • House 9: philosophy and travel
  • House 10 (midheaven): career and reputation
  • House 11: hopes and friends
  • House 12: self-undoing and secrets

The planets you have in each house determines how that one part of your life is played out in your real life. For example, my Venus is in the 1st House (the House of self). This makes me charming, artistic, and romantic! And my moon is in the 9th house (the House of Philosophy) which makes me often impractical!

I think those are the basics! Admittedly, a lot of this is copy-and-pasted from my other posts, but I hope it helps! Remember you can always ask me if you have any questions about this technical stuff! GOOD LUCK, LOVE!!! <3
