November Birchbox Review

This month’s box is not too bad. There is definitely some cool stuff in here. Birchbox is only $10/month with free shipping so you usually get a pretty good value. See products for yourself on my Youtube, AmandaHopcraft MUA. Here’s the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvqPqtYxT_A

Atelier Cologne in Vanilla Insensee Cologne Absolue – This scent was not me at all! Made with vanilla, oakwood and amber, the perfume was way too “warm” for me. However, someone who favors those aromas would be pleased with this long-lasting perfume.

Borghese Fango Active Mud – I love this mask! This fancy little product is made from mud from Tuscany with avocado and sweet almond oils. I used it on my face and it left my skin looking radiant and beautiful in just 5 minutes. * Tip about using clay masks* Make sure you remove the mask as soon as it begins to dry. A dried clay mask can wick moisture away from your skin. Follow up with an exfoliant or pore cleansing strip. The clay brings grime to the surface that may need an extra step to remove.

LaRocca Skincare Champagne and Shimmer Supreme Creme– Not a fan. The shimmer was nice but only lasted a short while and the product super greasy.

Zoya Nail Polish in Izzy – Love their polishes! They go on smooth with a low odor and dry quickly. This bright pink shade is the perfect holiday color.

Treat Two Paper Dolls Ampersand Coasters - The coasters are adorable! I have one on my desk right now!

Birchbox Pink: Flattering On Every Skin Tone

Working at Birchbox means that we get to do fun things like try out the latest new products, star in videos, and best of all: create custom lip gloss colors! We teamed up with Jouer to whip up a hot hot pink (what else would you expect?) to go in the December Birchboxes — so if you’re a subscriber, this is the time to do your happy dance and get excited.

But even though this shade looks crazy pink, it’s actually gorgeously sheer. You can slick on one coat for a pretty wash of color or build it up for more pigment. (Tip: If you want to punch it up, layer it over an opaque pink lipstick.) And to prove that it is a truly wearable hue — for everyone — we asked three staffers of varying skin tones to apply it and then snap a pic. Click through to see their photos and read what they had to say about the shade!

Birchbox staffers Caroline, Jennie, and Bianca

“I love how subtle this shade is and how it’s extra moisturizing.” —Caroline

“This is not a color I would usually pick out for myself, but it looks amazing on! It’s definitely my new fave.” —Jennie

“I was really surprised by how sheer it is when I put it on, but I really like it. I will be wearing this all the time.” —Bianca
