Welcome New Talent to Crystal Dynamics!
While you’ve likely heard rumblings on social media, we’d like to formally welcome two talented gents to the Crystal Dynamics family. Say hello to Tore Blystad and Nate Wells!
Tore started his career at Funcom in Norway over two decades ago. After his time at Funcom, he moved to Denmark for a 10-year run at IO Interactive, contributing heavily to the Hitman franchise. Tore was most recently Game & Art Director on Hitman: Absolution. Relocating to sunny California, Tore joins Crystal Dynamics as Performance Director.
Nate Wells got his start in the industry at Looking Glass Studios, lending his talents to System Shock 2 and Thief: The Dark Project. Moving on to Irrational Games, he took up post as Technical Art Director on BioShock, and Art Director on BioShock Infinite. Fun fact – Nate is credited with the original concept and visualization of the Big Daddy. Nate is most recently known for his work at Naughty Dog as Lead Artist on The Last of Us. Nate joins Crystal Dynamics as Environmental Art Director.
“We are thrilled to add Nate and Tore and their years of experience shipping top quality and award winning games to Crystal Dynamics,” said Darrell Gallagher, head of western studios at Square Enix. “Crystal has pulled together some of the best talent in the industry to deliver our upcoming games.”
