 One evening in West Palm Beach we were invited to take in a sold out concert of world music guitarist, Benise at The Kravis Center of The Performing Arts. If you have never heard of Benise, think flamenco guitar combined with world dance and theatre. The show highlighted multiple set and costume changes and elaborate choreographed regional dance routines set to the guitarist and bands performances. Each set, dance and musical number combined their respectful elements for a wonderful theatrical presentation equally highlighted by its separate ingredients of talented musicians, dancers, musicians and choreography.

His music can be heard on NPR~PBS~Sirus Radio, or perhaps you’ve heard his interview as the featured artist of ASCAP showcasing his guitar compositions. Billy Rogan has honed a most distinctive technical style best witnessed in LIVE showcases. From subway performances to Concert Halls and House Concerts, he delivers to one, as he does to millions in his passion for sharing and creating music.

Billy Rogan’s solo acoustic technique led him to work alongside acclaimed artists in the music industry,most recently opening for Grammy nominated jazz pianist Brad Mehldau and guitarist Peter Bernstein and for recognized blues great, Alexis P Suter. 

Through dedicating himself to his music, Rogan has had the opportunity to strum notes alongside Tim Reynolds of The Dave Matthews Band, blues great Toby Walker, Patrick Sweany, Gospel Blues legend Spencer Bohren, popular ragtime/blues guitarist Roy Book Binder Mike Gordon of Phish, Joe Russo The Dead & Scott Murawski, Carl Brunsdon of The British Pink Floyd Show and Richie Cannata of Billy Joel.

At the conclusion of his most recent East Coast Tour, Billy Rogan’s music was featured to the sold outCrest Theater of Delray, Fl for Jim Caruso’s Broadway’s Cast Party touring from the famed NYC Birdland. Rogan has performed for both the New York and The Florida venue hosted by Jim Caruso. 

In addition to being honored as the cover page from the American Society of Composers and Publishing’s highly-acclaimed Audio Portraits series, Rogan has participated in several recordings for fellow musicians including tracking notes for the composer/arranger Larry Gelb in the studio of Grammy and Emmy winning audio engineer/ producer Dae Bennett son of Tony Bennett on the America is Free recordings.

Billy Rogan auditioned for, and was selected as a rostered musician for New York MTA M.U.N.Y. (Music Under New York) program. Performing for literally millions of passengers, he caught the attention of Music journalist Heather Jacks and producer/director Justin Morales. Rogan can now be seen and heard in BUSKING THE SYSTEM a Justin Morales documentary featured in various film festivals around the country. Rogan’s original guitar compositions from his CD release “A LOSS FOR WORDS” can be heard throughout the film. 

Heather Jacks includes Billy Rogan in a limited edition, hardcover, art-style book titled, THE NOISE BENEATH THE APPLE celebrating the culture and music scene set on the backdrop of New York City.
