Commander William Riker: ONE IN EVERY PORT
(vodka, mulling spices, simple syrup, port)
Pour mulling spices and six ounces of vodka into a jar, seal, and store in a cool, dark place for a few days. Pour one ounce of simple syrup and one ounce of your infused vodka over ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake thoroughly, then strain. This mixture keeps things interesting—you stir it into every port you drink. It’s particularly good when things (like your port) get heated; makes you think of the old homestead.
