bill & fleur

If you haven’t read the books
  • You won’t know that the Elder Wand was also called the Deathstick
  • Ron was actually a Prefect
  • Harry, Fred and George got a “life-long ban” from Umbridge after they attacked Malfoy on the pitch
  • Dumbledore hired a centaur named Firenze to teach Divination
  • Neville Longbotton could’ve been “The Chosen One” but Voldemort chose Harry
  • Fenrir Greyback was the werewolf who bit Remus Lupin as a child
  • Harry attended Bill and Fleur’s wedding disguised as Barny Weasley, a red-headed Weasley cousin
  • Lily was actually a few months older than James
  • While still alive, the Bloody Baron, who became the ghost of Slytherin House, was sent by Rowena Ravenclaw to retrieve her daughter, Helena, whom he was in love with. When Helena, who became the ghost of Ravenclaw House, refused to go with him, he became angry and stabbed her. Then, distraught with having killed her, he killed himself
  • Harry mended his own wand with the Elder Wand before he got rid of it
  • Harry, Ron and Hermione met Neville in St Mungos, who was visiting his parents and his Gran told them what happened to Alice and Frank
  • The Potters’ had a cat
  • Harry got  miniature broom from Sirius for his first Birthday
  • Bathilda Bagshot was a friend of the Potters’

I firmly believe that Fleur Delacour and Viktor Krum remained friends after the triwizard tournament and that one night while they were celebrating Fleur and Bills engagement a very drunk Fleur bet a not as drunk Viktor that she could catch a snitch before him and so they competed and he won and Fluer lost her end of the bet saying that she would name her first born after him

and that is why their kid is named Victoire and the only reason it isn’t spelled with a k is to annoy Viktor

fleur delacour falling in love with bill weasley because he sees her. his youngest brother looked and went hair-eyes-teeth-legs, thought body, thought sex. her whole life, men have been looking and seeing a thing, not a girl. since she turned thirteen and bud-breasts pressed up against her shirts and boys at school wanted to sit close, men back home lingered too long in hugs.

until she was fifteen she dressed herself in shame before she put any clothes on at all. wore everything a few sizes too big, a few inches too long. draped herself in thick fabrics to hide the body beneath them. never learned that hot eyes on her were the fault of their owners, not her. took the uncomfortable stares and the endless flirtation as a fact of life. was fourteen the first time she dared to say “stop looking!” and met only laughter.

it’s not until she’s nearly sixteen and her sister is turning ten that she sees eyes begin to slide over her and to gabrielle. a friend of their father’s, not even that deep into a bottle of wine, caresses a child-round cheek and murmurs a line from lolita, eyes too bright and lips too dry. gabrielle flickers a panicked glance around the room. that look is so familiar. the same hour fleur switches her baggy sweatshirt for a crop top and rolls her skirt over two inches.

they will look at her. never at her sister.

After the war, Harry goes to therapy. It takes him a while but eventually he opens up about the war and the role he was forced in to. Later he even talks about the abuse he suffered at the hands of the Dursley’s and how it affected him later in life.

Ron goes too. He takes longer than Harry to talk because he doesn’t feel like he deserves to be there. After all, he didn’t have a kill or be killed prophecy about him. He didn’t have to erase his parents memories. He wasn’t tortured. It takes some time for the therapist to drill the fact that suffering is not a competition, that his pain is valid no matter what someone else has gone through, into him. At first he speaks of the war and the worry and the fact that he left. One day he gets to the fears he’s had his whole life: of not being good enough, of being “extra”.

Hermione talks more easily than either of the boys. After all, that is how this is supposed work. She rushes through the war but stumbles on the subject of her parents. The guilt she feels for erasing their memories. The guilt she still feels for spending less and less time with them every year.

Ginny speaks angrily about the year Hogwarts was under the Carrow’s control. She rages at the memory and at being left behind by those closest to her. She quietens when she tells the therapist about her mind being violated by Tom Riddle. About the grip he still has on her.

Both couples go together to learn how to be together after the trauma.

Molly and Arthur go when the grief of losing Fred becomes too much. They cry and reminisce and speak of the worry they hold for the rest of their children, daughter-in-law and the two they all but adopted included.

Bill and Fleur go to deal with the fact that their first year of marriage has been marred by so much tragedy. For the pain that Bill’s scars have caused and the failure he feels now that one of his brothers is dead.

Charlie goes because he blames himself. He was never there. Maybe things would have been different if he had been.

Percy goes nearly bent double with the weight of his guilt, for leaving, for staying away, for distracting Fred at exactly the wrong moment. He’ll never forgive himself and he fiercely resists all the therapist’s attempts to get him to do so.

George is dragged there by everyone else. He refuses to open up for longer than any of the others. But when he does he only speaks of Fred. Memories of him and their shared dreams. He compares his twin to his lost ear: full of phantom pain and more conspicuous in it’s absence.

Every one of them survived the battle. And every one of them needed help to keep surviving it. And each of them makes sure the others feel no shame for getting that help.

this is Le Mont Saint Michel, in Normandie, France. it’s also where Beauxbatons Academy of Magic is located. and listen i KNOW Beauxbatons is supposed to be in the Pyrenees but it’s only rumored to be so i will take this hc to the grave

ok now that this is out of the way hear me out

this is le mont saint michel, and depending on the tide it’s either an island or accessible by foot

the witches arrived in 1265 and never left because come on, even the location screams magic it would be a shame not to take advantage of it. even the wizarding world has aesthetic needs to fulfill.

there are some muggles on the island, but most of them have been there forever and their parents before them, and having lived through WW2 and the invention of television,  they can think of weirder things than magic. Also they have other shit to do than go and tell everyone about beauxbatons and plus they quite like those wizards, they’re polite and make delicious drinks so everyone is happy to mind their own business.

and this pals, is Beauxbatons Academy of Magic :

the architecture is famous all over the world and has therefore attracted many tourists over the years so the academy has decided to open some parts of the castle to the public.

but do not worry they’ve thought this through! a powerful glamour has been cast over the whole place for it to look to the muggles like they’re visiting an abbey.

for example, this is a muggle photo of a statue of Nicolas Flamel, famous alumnus of Beauxbatons Academy.

and if you’re still not convinced here are a couple of photos proving that this place is definitely magical

Bonus : this is La Mère Poulard, the best restaurant on the island. Anne Boutiaut, who owns the place, is a 166 yo witch and to this day, she still hasn’t disclosed to recipe to her famous omelet. the muggles think she’s just in very good shape for her age.

you can also see witches and wizards of all ages, unwinding with a butterbear after a long day, looking fondly at the oblivious muggles

it’s a happy place

Na, fuck it! Here’s a line-up! From left to right: Hermione, Harry, Ron, Ginny, George, Percy, Charlie, Bill and Fleur. All the family is going to play quidditch in the garden.

You probably wonder why they are all in red, well, that’s because they’re FROM FUCKING GRYFFINDOR YEAH!

Headcanon that George loves to wear Fred’s clothes so he can still be close to him and that sometimes, when he goes to the kitchen to eat his breakfast, Molly calls him Fred accidentally and when she realize it, she cries and George feels so sorry that he hugs her very sweetly because he knows she is the only one to have love him the most except him.
Oh, and I drew Hermione tan because I love the idea of a black Hermione and that considering she has french origins and that in France we have a strong black community, she may be tan because of one of her parents or grandparents.

I really enjoyed working on this one. Especially because of the lines and the shoes (good practice, good practice). Tell me if you ever want to see one of them from a closer look.
