When we talk about the holiness of God, we’re talking about his separateness. That is, God is set apart from this world. The world holy itself means set apart, sacred.

God intended us to live a holy life, which means we are free and no longer tied down to things of the world. It doesn’t mean that we don’t sin no more, but we no longer belong to the world.
So today, if there is anything that we need to break free from, might it be lust, love of money, hatred, anger, pornography, and any other things that do not please God, remember that the calling to live holy means to be set apart for God. Let’s honor God with our every breath and every thought.

Matthew 7:24
Whosoever hears these words of mine and puts them to practice, is like a wise man, who built his house upon the rock.
Jesus said that whoever heard his words and obeyed Him, would be like a wise man who built on a rock. And that house could never be torn down!!! It could never be moved!
But if we only hear the wonderful words of Jesus and yet still go our own way and don’t do what He says, then we are like a foolish person, who builds his house on the sand!
Jesus is our Rock! He is our firm foundation. And if we obey His word, we have the assurance that no matter what flood beats upon us, no matter how fierce the storms of this life may get we will never fall, we will never be moved.

“When our situations are difficult to handle and downright impossible to explain, we need to remind ourselves that God said, “I know the plans I have for you.” Through these situations we discover how faithful and sovereign He truly is. He knows what we can handle and He will never give us more. When the test is completed, we come out with character, stronger in faith, more in love, more useful to Him, and ready……….. for our next test. :)” -George Whitten #dailydevotional #bibleverse

Good morning loves! It’s time to SOAP (Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer) on the Word.
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
Where do you turn to have the thirst of your soul slaked? I firmly believe that many addictive habits and sins are the result of pursuing things to satisfy this thirst in our soul by some means other than seeking God. He is the only source of true and lasting refreshment, satisfaction, and fulfillment. Let’s pursue God, knowing that only he can satisfy the desire of our souls.
My Prayer…
Thank you, O God, that you care that my soul thirsts with superhuman thirst. Thank you for providing your Living Water through the Holy Spirit to satisfy this longing deep within my soul. Help me see the deceptiveness of every false source of satisfaction so that I can find my thirst properly and fully satisfied in you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
