Organic whole wheat dough brushed with garlic olive oil topped with Daiya mozzarella and cheddar, Beyond Meat grilled chicken, Tessemae buffalo sauce, Organicville non-dairy ranch, and a sprinkle of oregano.
I FOUND ‘BEYOND MEAT" Chick'n salad at my local Whole Foods…. my life has changed forever, it tastes like chicken, has the texture of chicken BUT ITS VEGAN! I give this 5 out of 5 stars! I can’t wait to try new varieties…. I am SO EXCITED!
2 heaping tablespoons of just mayo,
1 flax egg,
1 large dill pickle,
2 pitted kalamata olives,
1 large clove of garlic,
6 tablespoons nutritional yeast,
1 tablespoon mustard,
the juice of 1 lime,
1 tablespoon olive oil,
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar,
¾ cups plant based milk,
1 tablespoon dried parsley (optional),
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper,
½ teaspoon ground black pepper,
1 tablespoon (or more) sea-salt,
put all of your ingredients into a blender or food processor until smooth, pour over your salad & enjoy! my go to caesar salad recipe is beyond meat chicken, large slices of sweet onion, cucumber pieces, sliced kalamata olives, sunflower seeds & whole wheat croutons over mixed greens, romain & red leaf lettuce.
It’s not very often I go to Whole Foods cause it can get so expensive. But once every few months I want to get adventurous and try some new things and stock up on old standby favorites.
Especially can’t wait to try the beyond meat impossible burgers and all the cheeses and butter from miyokos kitchen.
My boyfriend bought me some bento boxes and supplies “just because”, and I’m super excited because I’ve wanted them for a while! So today was my first bento attempt haha.
Pink box (lunch) has:
-Steamed peas and carrots
-White rice loaded with nori komi furikake (it came out too fast!!)
-Meatless chicken strips (beyond meat brand) cooked with teriyaki sauce
-Bunny cup has extra teriyaki sauce
-Kimchi (lol I know, everything else in that box is Japanese but I just love kimchi!)
Is it true that urban decay was bought out by Loreal which means whatever money is spent on the cruelty free urban decay goes towards the animal-tested products by Loreal? Is this true? Thoughts?
Yes it is true, I believe they were purchased by L'Oreal back in 2013 or so…. my take on it is this: While I’m not stoked on Urban Decay’s parent company, I’m also happy that brands like that see that UD has a huge place in the market. I will support brands like UD in their vegan products because it shows them and the parent company that those products are in demand. If we stopped buying legit products from companies because they’ve been bought out by a company that doesn’t share the same ethics, then it gives them improper data and they start to think “oh maybe people didn’t want these products like we thought they did…”
For example: Tyson foods has invested in Beyond Meat… Beyond Meat is a leader in the plant-based protein genre, yet a brand (Tyson) that controls a huge about of animal protein products has invested their time and money into them. They see this is a way of the future and want to be a part of it… so if we continue to support the cruelty-free brands under these “crueler” umbrellas then it shows the “boss” what the people want to continue to see. Maybe one day plant protein will take over animal protein just as well as cruelty-free and vegan make up will succeed over the former product.
It’s not perfect but it’s headed in the right direction in my opinion!
Lunch today - greens, tomatoes, red onion, pickled beets, avocado, beyond meat grilled ‘chicken’ strips, corn, and lots of vegan ranch!
My salads always end up having more topping than greens and enough dressing to drown it all lol
