HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY SELENA MARIE GOMEZ! [Jul. 22, 1992]
+ “It’s about being strong, which [to me] means being comfortable with who I am. I think women, especially [women] my age, can relate. You’re figuring out who you are and there are so many different levels of emotions that you go through. The best is when you feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable with yourself.”
Nick had Eva strapped to his chest with the baby wrap and he had the breakfast tray in one hand and Eden on his other hip. He somehow managed to get everything he was carrying into their room and gently places the food on the nightstand. “Babe? Good morning, birthday girl…” He whispers softly, trying to get her out of her sleep.
Nick was talking to Kevin and Joe but couldn’t help but look around at all of the people in the backyard celebrating their baby girl’s first birthday. The fact that Eden was one has made him cry more than once today but now he was just grateful to enjoy time with his family and friends. Nick spots Selena out of the corner of his eye and decides to excuse himself from the conversation and walks over to his wife.
Nick was in the living room putting a few things into the diaper bag, one eye on Eden as she played on the floor. They had her one year doctors visit and should probably be leaving any minute, yet of course they were running behind. He finishes putting everything into the bag and then walks to the bottom of the stairs. “Love? You almost ready?” He hated to bug her since he knew things weren’t easy at nine months pregnant but he had offered to take Eden alone and of course had refused so they really had to get going.
“You fall in love and it completely consumes you, so a part of you is broken when that’s gone. And part of you wants to have that rebellious feeling where you’re just like, forget it - I can do anything I want. I’ve tried it, and I’ve never been that girl. I’m always going to be the girl you want to take home to your parents, not for the night.”
