between two fictions

reunion falls- northwest mansion mystery

uhhh so i didnt rly get a chance to develop this relationship as much as i should have before doing this but i wanted to rewrite nmm to include girl crushes and kissing so i did

@ people who arent as familiar w this au, for context pacifica has been on good terms with the twins for a long time so!! this would be the conclusion of many many episodes of shipteasing and flirting that neither one recognizes as flirting. its good. its great.

You know it always weirds me out when people say they ‘don’t ship any characters’ i mean what do you do with your lives???? are you honestly trying to tell me that you go to sleep during normal hours??? that you actually focus on school/office work???? that you actually spend your day doing something productive????? that you can actually cope with life without depending on the relationship status between two fictional characters????????? because honestly that sounds like bullshit

I am a Raoul/Christine shipper. I will be an R/C shipper until the day I die. I love Raoul and Christine, I love their relationship and their dynamics.
However, I do not expect that I will meet some handsome, rich nobleman in real life. Want to know why? Because Raoul and Christine are fictional. The Phantom of the Opera is a fictional story. I recognize the difference between fantasy and reality.

Now, recently there’s been a bit of unrest in the Phantom fandom accusing Erik/Christine shippers of supporting abuse and misogyny. As an R/C shipper, I can see where this is coming from, but as a logical human being I can dismiss it as utter nonsense. By their logic, as someone who ships Raoul and Christine, I support breaking family ties and societal expectation and (by the musical’s terms) encouraging those you love into dangerous situations to catch bad guys. I don’t. Because once more… The Phantom of the Opera is a fictional story and I live in reality.

By their logic, anyone who writes a Hunger Games fanfiction is supportive of violence among adolescents. Anyone who writes a Harry Potter fanfiction believes that magic is real. Anyone who writes a Twilight fanfiction believes in manipulative, sparkly vampires. And anyone can tell you that this is utterly absurd.

Fiction is a place to explore ideas and relationships that you don’t and can’t support or do in reality. To suggest otherwise is like saying that Stephen King supports terror and abuse, that J.R.R. Tolkien supports planet-wide warfare, or that George R. R. Martin supports… well, basically anything in his books. You would never suggest that because in those instances you recognize the difference between reality and fantasy. So why on earth do you not apply the same courtesy to people who like to explore the relationship dynamics between two fictional characters just because you see their relationship as problematic?

Does a relationship between Erik and Christine have issues? Heck yeah it does! But suggesting that an author or a fan supports and endorses those problems in reality is as ridiculous as suggesting that J.K. Rowling believes in house elves.

And it desperately needs to stop.

I know I’ve posted about this before, but people asking whether or not they’re “allowed” to ship something is beyond saddening to me.

People genuinely feel like they have to have a good enough reason to like the dynamic between two fictional characters.

To me, if you’re enjoying the works revolving around the ship, than that’s a good enough reason. Fun is a good enough reason.

  • Anti-Jashi stans: *makes claims of pedophilia when it's a ship between two confirmed consenting fictional adults, albeit two adults of significant age difference*
  • Jashi stans: *makes homophobic remarks about the "sensitive gays" raining on their ship parade when there are fair complaints in regards to the ship*
  • Me: This is a fucking mess and I'm embarrassed for all of you.

SteveTony is such a great, versatile, great ship! You can have them as fluffy boyfriends on a beach one moment, angsty painful mutually pining idiots in love the other. And in both cases (and everything in between) you have these two fictional characters so intense about each other it almost physically hurts in real life.

I don't even know how to name this...

Apologise ahead for upcoming language!

There’s a post going around called ‘Operation Trend #Norbury on Twitter’, a post I refuse to give anymore notes or attention by reblogging & adding to it, but I’ll say this…

What the fresh hell is that?

That is harassment.
That is utter BULLSHIT!
That is NOT about representation.
That is NOT about queer-bating, because that clearly didn’t happen. Queer-bating means you’re being strung along, TPTB & the actors of Sherlock spoke openly about Sherlock & John not coming together as a ROMANTIC couple. PRACTICALLY RIGHT FROM THE START.

Yes, they spoke about love, about two men loving each other, needing each other, but love does not automatically end in romantic relationships. Even if the right chemistry is there, even if attraction towards each other is there, it does not mean the end all and be all will be a romantic relationship.

You know what this is about.
This is about you being WRONG!
This is about you NOT getting what YOU want!
This is about you being EMBARRASSED about being wrong & GUILTY of attacking fandom members who don’t ship Sherlock and John!
This is about you not getting to be all HIGH & MIGHTY!

Your inability to face YOUR responsibility in letting it all go too far is embarrassing!

Just because you put it under an umbrella of representation, queer-bait, plot holes, dangerous portrayals of mental illness (I don’t even want to know where you got that from. Probably one of your meta’s that just exist to fuel your agenda) and what not, doesn’t mean you won’t get seen through!

You know how I know it’s NOT about representation for the LGBTQA+ community?
You ATTACKED Mark Gatiss, a GAY man, a MARRIED GAY man, who has been fighting for equality ALL HIS LIFE!
You called Mark DISGUSTING, you called him HOMOPHOBIC, you told him he would be responsible for ANY RISE IN SUICIDES within the community!

YOU show signs of at least internalised homophobia!

Your war on BBCOne, Mark Gatiss, Sue Vertue & all involved in Sherlock started only after THE FINAL PROBLEM. Up until then your were still convinced there’s only going to be one possible, feasible outcome, namely that John and Sherlock will come together. Never mind that The Final Problem practically left the door open for all to keep pursuing their own version in fan fiction, fanart and just for fandom in general.

It didn’t happen the way YOU ENVISIONED! And that’s when you went to war.

Over FICTIONAL characters!
While the writers & actors have always been UPFRONT with you.
While in the REAL world homophobia, biphobia & transphobia has PHYSICAL & MENTAL consequences!
That what happens in our world does NOT happen because ONE perceived romantic relationship between two FICTIONAL male characters didn’t come to fruition, or not enough representation.
It happens because of REAL hate, it happens because of extremely NARROW-MINDED upbringings, it happens because of interpretations of their BELIEFS that fuels their AGENDA of hating everyone that’s DIFFERENT.

The last should sound familiar to you. You do the same with the show and the subtext you saw & wrote meta’s about.

What you plan to do won’t ‘define us as fandom’. It’ll make the fandom, especially the part of the fandom that ship John and Sherlock, look horrible. The peaceful, happy & quietly shipping Johnlockers will retreat even further, will be even more afraid to say ‘I ship John and Sherlock’. People within the LGBTQA+ community that don’t share you extreme views and behaviour will feel even more lost.

But hey, as long as YOU’re happy with your convictions, own narrow-minded attitude and behaviour, it’s all fine, right? Congrats on being ASSHOLES!

For the record, but more importantly to show it’s just fine to say so, I ship Sherlock & John.
I also loved S4 & felt The Final Problem brought Sherlock full circle. Because he’s whom the show is all about, Sherlock. John is the one who narrates what happens in his best friends life.
As an aside, him being the narrator is probably why we know more about everyone else’s life and not more of his own. But I digress.

I’ll tag this appropriately. You lot actually have the AUDACITY to use a word the writers came up with for their own character to attack them.

To those who follow me and are part of the LGBTQA+ community, I need you to let me know when I’ve overstepped the line and hurt you.

Well, I was going to write, but I ended up petting my dog instead. Can’t really call that a loss, though.

lance or bucky

Aw dang it….ummmmm fuck.

Okay, I’m gonna rationalize the fuck out of this.

Lance is a bit of a dick BUT he’s a dick who will get me healthy, care about me and my health and  probably be protective. BUT he’s gonna be wrapped up in training his girls and away a lot.

Bucky, whether it be 1940s Bucky, or Post-Civil War Bucky, is going to be a gentleman, holding doors, protecting me, dancing with me. He has a lot of issues of course but those can be worked through. There is the chance of injury due to nightmares…and he’d go away a lot for missions and whatnot.

Its a tough decision…especially since I call Lance my husband, BUT I think I’d have to go with Bucky.

I was trying to put into actual words how amazing the wedding episodes were without either waxing poetic or just banging my hands on my keyboard in a frenzy. Then I thought that I SHOULD wax poetic, because hell’s bloody bells, our boys are married!

There’s that moment, isn’t there, when something really special has happened and you know that you’ll remember it for a long time. Some of those moments are just average day to day, mundane things which just so happen to leave an impact; some again are huge events which makes your breath catch and your heart race. Emmerdale is a soap on British television, and at least seven eighths of the world’s population has never heard of it; it’s a day to day thing, which—every so often—does something magical and incredible, and makes my breath catch and my heart race.

On Tuesday, Robert and Aaron got married, and things seemed to shift just a little bit. Of course the world is still spinning on the same axis, and hell I’m still single and sporting a cough like I smoke 50 a day. The world is still this side of messed up, and sometimes we need a bit of light. For one eighth of us, that came in the form of a marriage between two fictional men, who expressed their love and devotion to each other in some of the most beautiful scenes I’ve ever had the privilege of watching.

From Aaron being shoved out the door by Robert in the morning, to being held by him that night as the literal and metaphorical darkness encroached, their wedding was perfect. Even the imperfections were perfect. Even Faith Dingle’s attempts to help by throwing together a miss-match of decorations and themes made me chuckle, and when Robert and Aaron walked to their make shift altar accompanied by Bear’s Den ‘The Love We Stole’, I think we realised that even in the most chaotic mess there is beauty and awe which can be found. Of course things didn’t go to plan, and for Robron it would be too strange if it did. Their relationship is as solid as they come, but it doesn’t mean that it isn’t subject to the odd strong gust of wind or upset. But they get through it, and that is what matters. Through it all, they have each other. They got married alone, in the garage (the place that it all started, the place that Robert found Aaron and his stolen car, the place that Robert asked if they could be mates, the place where they had their first time), and it was just so perfectly them. Free to express themselves, they promised themselves to each other through everything, promising to be better for each other, to be the best husbands they could be.

And so to the parts which made my chest constrict. Robert has never really felt that he belonged. For too many years he tried to be something he isn’t, and tried to flaunt an image of himself that never quite fit, like a suit made for the wrong person. But now, with Aaron, he has a family. Not just Aaron and Liv, but the Dingles. The Dingles have claimed Robert as one of their own, and I am just so unbelievably happy. Robert has married into a family which seem PROUD to call Robert their own, who seem HAPPY to do so. I think that is what struck me the most about the wedding: everyone was just so genuinely, sincerely happy. Discounting Paddy—and even he had to admit that he could see Robert loves Aaron—there wasn’t a single moment of cynicism during the episodes. Not one person considered for a moment that marriage between Robert and Aaron wouldn’t work, or couldn’t work. There was a smile on every single face when they shared their first dance and the kiss in the pub. Everyone has accepted them, and are HAPPY to do so.

Emmerdale really knocked it out of the park on Tuesday. Almost everything that was said, every choice of lighting, every placement of a hand or a tilt of a head will be remembered by us Robron fans for years. Emmerdale proved, once again, that when they get it right there is literally no one else who does it better.

Robert and Aaron found each other through each hardship. Through each hardship and difficulty to come, they have each other. Every decision they made, every step they took, led them to this moment, and to each other.

Please Read - Asexual Jughead

Regarding my answer post and the people that are commenting on my writings : I am very aware of what the terms “aro” “ace” and “aroace” mean, I myself identify as asexual (as well as agender, but that’s not about sexual orientation) myself, which makes this subject hard. What I am doing with my writings is filling a want. People want an insight on, if you were in a hypothetically relationship with this fictional character, what are some things that may happen.

I am not trying to erase Jughead’s Asexuality, and for some people his implied Aromantism, that was never my intention. I’m all for representation, but the character of Jughead, on the show Riverdale, is not canonically Asexual. Although I have hopes his sexuality will developed it into it, it seems unlikely he ever will be.

To cut off my rant, I state here and now : If you do not like it, do not read it. Your lack of notes will not offend me. The comments saying “don’t try to change his character” can been seen, and they are heard. If you want an Aromantic (lacking ROMANTIC ATTRACTION) or and Asexual (lacking SEXUAL ATTRACTION) imagine, please request one and I will happily write it! What I’m not going to do is stop writing what’s requested of me. When the lien of Canon on TV and Canon in Comics is so thin, I’m willing to write for all.

I would also like to point out that neither Betty or Veronica is canonically bi nor were they lesbians in the comics (though that would’ve been badass). Yet, despite this not being canon, people overlook that to see what a hypothetical relationship between these two fictional characters would look like. So why can’t others do the same when it comes to Jughead’s sexuality as well?

I’m dearly sorry if I offended anyone. But I’d like to restate again, that if you don’t like it, don’t read it. Now, I’m getting my tired ace ass off the Internet for a while. Goodnight my guys, gals, and nonbinary pals. (I know that’s Thomas Sander’s thing but I love it!)

1, 2, & 6 for fanfic author meme!

Thanks for sending me things from the fanfic author meme!!

1. What was your first fic and could you stand to reread it today?

My first fic (aside from a continuation of the Lord of the Rings the brother and I started when I was like ten and didn’t know that fanfiction was a thing, aha) was Tinker Bell , a oneshot for Danny Phantom that I wrote back in 2011

I actually reread it not too long ago and it’s not bad. I mean it’s also not /great/ but it doesn’t makes me cringe or anything, which is a really nice feeling! ^^

2. What’s your most recent fic and how far do you think you’ve come?

The last thing I posted was The Abyss Stares Back , a long oneshot for Gundam 00 that I’m very proud of!

I think I’ve come a very long way since I first started writing fanfiction. For one thing, I’d been on a creative hiatus for… a long time before @dpsg1 introduced me to fandom and fanfiction so I was super rusty getting back into the swing of writing. But fanfiction gave me a lot of ideas to play with, made me want to write again, and surrounded me with a built in network of really inspiring authors who gave great feedback and I’ve just had so much fun experimenting and getting better at the whole writing thing over the years
And back when I started, I definitely would not have believed anyone who would have told me that I’d be able to finish a single scene that believably stretched to 7k (in present tense, no less!), so, yeah, progress!!

6. Is there any fic that makes you super embarrassed to reread and remember you wrote that?

Nope. I am willing to sit and edit a fic for years before I post, which I think has helped reduce embarrassment due to quality issues. And all of the weird stuff I’ve written was meant to be cracky anyway so……

i usually don't spend time reading the hate posts about otayuri but LOOOL omg you guys are dense™ AF i've read all kinds of comments by now (i think)... from people who just don't care about yurio, find him disgusting to people who find the shipp nasty (because the less-than-two-years-gap is insane lol) and all i think about it's i'm glad y'all have free time to dedicate hating the relationship between two fictional characters wow

I mean,,, the only reason I hate Killing Stalking is because of how much fear i feel when I read it. Y'all who enjoy it as a fictional work are ok, I believe y'all know the difference between fantasy and real life… I respect u.
