between dimensions

Someone once told me that human beings have three dimensions: how you see yourself, how others see you, and how you want others to see you. The closer the distance between the three dimensions, the more at peace you are and the more stable you become.

waiting for the day to come

I feel like we need to talk more bout America Chavez.

She’s a teenage latina gay superhero from another dimension. Like, how could you not just love her? Oh, and she’s a member of the Young Avengers.

Yes. As in THOSE Young Avengers. Did I mention she’s incredibly bad-ass?

You wanna talk powers? This lady has powers up the wazoo. We’re talking super strength and durability, flight,

as well as bullet-proof skin.

Is Loki checking out her ass? goddamn it Loki she will kick you so hard in the face. Oh yeah, there’s another thing.

She can literally kick holes between dimensions to allow for instant travel across worlds. So, basically…

America Chavez is essentially the ultimate superhero and someone we DEFINITELY need to be talking about more often.

Someone once told me that human beings have three dimensions: how you see yourself, how others see you, and how you want others to see you. The closer the distance between the three dimensions, the more at peace you are and the more stable you become.

Underrated 4E-Original D&D Monsters!

While Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition had many flaws when it came to integrating narrative and gameplay; on some pretty fundamental levels; one advantage of the system was that the simplified monster-creation allowed for a dickton of really interesting brand-new monsters to appear in a small space.

Sadly, due to both a lack of art for many of them and a fundamentally fluff-lite narrative approach for most of its run, almost nobody remembers them.

And that’s what we’re here to talk about today, with the name, a brief description, and the book they come from! So, in no particular order:

Banderhobbs- A horrible vore-frog that lives in the plane of Shadows. They take people away to work in their horrible shadow-mines until they turn into more Banderhobbs! [Monster Manual 3, tho they did come back in 5e’s Volo’s Guide]

Dreambreath Dracoliches- Dragon liches who root their immortality in the plane of Dreams and generally look like something that should be painted on the side of a van [Draconomicon: Chromatics]

Star Spawn- Horrible eldritch monster-avatars of the Stars, summoned by a giant planet that got fucked up by spending too long in the Cthulhu-dimension passing in front of them. They have stats so you can fight the giant planet. [Monster Manuals 2 & 3]

Filth Hags- A type of hag who always comes accompanied by a son she made out of poop. Yes I know they just give it as nonspecific “filth,” but we all know it’s poop [The Book of Vile Darkness. Yes there was a 4e version.]

Accipitridae- A centipede-thing made of grave-dirt and bone, part of a series of undead monsters created from grave-detritus known as Dethritus. There is also the Offalian who is a snake-thing made out of guts. [Open Grave]

Voracia- A giant starfish that eats fairies. Made as one of the edition’s Abominations; giant living weapons designed to fight in the war between the Gods and the jotun-like elemental Primordials. [The Plane Above]

Astral Renders- Another abomination, this giant silver/gold blob monster that doesn’t just eat flesh, but also the barriers between dimensions. To teleport.  [The Plane Above]

Bonewretch Skeletons- Literal dead-baby skeletons [Open Grave]

Orium Dragons- Metallic dragons obsessed with ancient civilizations, their history and lore, and with an obsession with bringing said ancient civilizations back. They breathe acid which turns into snake-vapor monsters. Which then stay around to keep attacking you. [Draconomicon: Metallic Dragons]

Apocalypse Spells- The remnants of apocalyptically deadly/powerful spells that have gained sentience, like shards of the chains of a trapped god or colorless fire from a massive war-ending spell [Monster Manual 3]

Larval Snipers/Larval Assassins/Larval Warmasters- Variants on the basic worm-that-walks monster including snipers made of wasps, assassins made of centipedes, and warlords made of beetles [Open Grave]

Chillfire Destroyers- 4e had this thing where they condensed the Elemental Planes into one big Elemental Chaos, and one of the byproducts of that was that all the elementals (at least at first) were combinations of elements. The Chillfire Destroyer; which is literally an elemental made of ice with fire inside; was one of the cooler; more iconic (In my eyes at least) manifestations of the idea. [Monster Manual 2]

Dragonscale Sloughs- Piles of dead skin and shed scales from dragons that’ve come to undead life. The dragon doesn’t even have to be dead for it to happen, as it mentions they tend to form naturally in the lairs of elder dragons [Open Grave]

Consumptive Swarm- A “demon” that’s actually a swarm of Slaad/chaos-frog larvae mutated into demons by the energy from shard of evil that formed The Abyss (Basically Chaotic Evil Hell). There’s also versions for Efreet and Djinn and a weird thing called a Writhing Crag supposedly made from Ropers and Xorn with a great design and the ability to embed you in stone. [The Plane Below]

Unrisen- People who came back very, very wrong after a Raise Dead spell. You know Pet Sematery? It’s basically Pet Sematery. [Open Grave]

Swarmtongue Worms- While the old gold-coin-mimicking Hoard Scarab came back, they also added another parasite for draconic hordes, grotesque stomachlike wormy-tongued parasites the size of a dwarf. They come in multi-headed versions called Swarmtongue Hydras and are implied to be either relatives of Carrion Crawlers or the result of what happens when the parasites feeding on a dead dragon’s body get bathed in energy from the Cthulhu dimension [Draconomicon: Chromatic]

Dragonclaw Swarms- An “advanced” version of the Crawling Claw enemy that is literally hundreds of severed dragon feet coming to attack you. D&D is silly sometimes [Open Grave]

Quom- Bald-headed two-faced people who were pretty chill until their goddess got exploded by the God/Primordial war. Now they’re searching for all the shards of their Goddess, which is a problem given how many of those have wormed their way into magic weapons or sometimes even people. [The PlaneAbove]

Flesh Cults- One of the coolest new ideas that got only one entry, they’re basically a cult not dedicated to immortality like most undead cults but rather to ˆephemerality, being in the here and the now and that everything ends eventually, with their rituals giving themselves regeneration that makes too much flesh, with it being described as a “perpetual cascade of flesh and organs,” which they then use as weapons and reanimate as temporary quickly-decaying undead servants. Because waste not want not I suppose [Open Grave]

Oubliviae- A new demon lord who looks bland at first, basically a pretty lady with an HR Geiger-armor-body, but her backstory is fascinating. Basically she is the lord of the end of all civilizations; with her layer made from a platonic “perfect” city that she ruined to turn into a reflection of the ruins of every civilization there ever was or will be; and she’s implied to come directly from the Shard of Evil at the heart of the Abyss rather than just being mutated Primordials/other creatures like the rest of the Demon Lords [Demonomicon]

Solkara- One of the few Primordials statted up that isn’t an Elder Elemental Evil with a new coat of paint, she’s suitably honked-up looking; given she’s a humanoid eel-monster with amongst other things three arms attached to two torsos connected at the shoulder and hips, which have two necks that connect to a singular four-eyestalked head. She’s stuck in an iceberg and really, really wants out. [The Plane Below]

This probably isn’t near all of them, so if I missed some, please tell me!

Man I ‘d love to see @bogleech do an article on some of these…

Neptune is gazing through the looking glass of a thousand dreams glossed in godly vision, creative genius, and enticing chaos. It is stillness that is only momentary, but worth sacrificing everything for, and to some, the lure is too captivating, and so there is addiction, or lethargy, or poisonous relationships. In mythology, Neptune was assigned to the ocean. Neptune’s gender is evasive, it symbolizes a oneness, the muse playing orchestras from the clouds.

Neptune in Aries - Neptune in the 1st house

The person can become so lost without an identity they no longer realise they are self destructing. Powerful spiritual energy magnetizes around the person, but this can also make them lost and separate from the world

Neptune in Taurus - Neptune in the 2nd house

Self worth may be fluctuating, at times intimately sensitive with all things, at other times the separation and emptiness becomes a longing for material consumption.

Neptune in Gemini - Neptune in the 3rd house

The individual learns in a very unusual way that may be difficult for educators to grasp. They are pulled between dimensions of consciousness, often seeming in a state of confusion, understanding the language of many things

Neptune in Cancer - Neptune in the 4th house

There is an insatiable feeling of abandonment. The mother image is contained in fantasy here, she wanted goddess as her mother. The subconscious is deeply attached to the upbringing, but the individual’s recollection of childhood may be vague, short on details, and filled with black spots.

Neptune in Leo - Neptune in the 5th house

Chases unavailable romances or involves themselves in clandestine relationships. Can be deliriously devoted to artists, spiritualists, or celebrities

Neptune in Virgo - Neptune in the 6th house

Sacrifice feels sacred with Neptune in the 6th. There are imaginary ailments and anxieties that other people cannot soothe. Daily life is filled with hidden, although secret miracles.

Neptune in Libra - Neptune in the 7th house

The eyes of god reflect through the faces of everybody they pass. Makes tremendous sacrifice for the partner, and in continuing with the deception theme, maybe even sacrifices their own own mental wellness to stay with someone

Neptune in Scorpio - Neptune in the 8th house

Despite holding a  glass of champagne and smiling, the individual may dance and laugh and all the while be dreaming of death. These thoughts and urges can erupt without organic cause and vanish just as mysteriously

Neptune in Sagittarius - Neptune in the 9th house

Indulging in many esoteric pursuits becomes the voyage of life. There may be religious fanaticism or delirious devotion. There is a temple Neptune in the 9th seeks, a unity of all belief and elevated awareness, life is approached like a pilgrimage, the feeling of comfort and safety is evasive.

Neptune in Capricorn - Neptune in the 10th house

Difficult for the person to decide upon a career because the dream is always calling in many directions. High receptivity for the needs of the public. Feels they have an extraordinary purpose in the world. But how do they figure out what it is?

Neptune in Aquarius - Neptune in the 11th house

Friendships serve as a source of spiritual energy for the person.  The feeling of belonging and being something meaningful to people is important. Can be fanatical when it comes to saving others

Neptune in Pisces - Neptune in the 12th house

Those hands have bandaged many. But they have also bandaged their own hands, hearts, and spirit time and time again. Everything can feel like drowning. Only through finding a place with God can they draw breath.

Malec Appreciation Week Day 6 - A Scene That Made You Smile

I love a challenge.

The Piscean symbol is an expression of the double bodied nature in Pisces, two mermaids bound by a Neptune halo, a marbled figment of duality and contrasting hues. One mermaid is tied to the material realm, filled with earthly anxieties, lethargy, fear, sacrifice, and competency. The other mermaid swims toward the ether of infinity, soaked in fantasy and imagination, leaking with the liquid of heaven’s ocean. She sings a glorious tune to her sister shackled on earth, promising escape and redemption, floating in marvellous inspiration and vision. They can be at one during dream, or artistry, even service or holding a baby or an elder, melting into one another, Offering a piece of their heart tugs the mermaids together, an infusion of the ultimate, sacred, godly love. This is why Pisces can also be the enchanted mirror, every face reflecting portraits of the divine grace inside. And the shadows in Pisces serve each other, transmitting images and beauty and holiness. There is pain and there is healing elixirs. There is anguish and there is ecstasy. So this is why the Pisces can feel in two places at once, pulled between different dimensions of time and space, and this is why they can seem confused or inconsistent but it seems mystical and magical about them. Two mermaids divided, but the soul dances as one.

Okay so I went over this on twitter but- what if Todd was actually onto something in the scene where he mentions the wall being wet?

Later in the episode we see Mona throw liquid of some sort- that I presume is a glass of water- over Dirk to transport him to Todd and Farah.

So what if water is key to transportation in this series? Maybe it’s their means of travelling between dimensions. There is a shot of a pool of water in the promo pictures- and (as spotted by @hugcollector) the room that pool is in does look incredibly similar to the room in which the clip of Todd saying they’re in another dimension takes place.

Neptune eyes ~ real eyes realize real lies

Neptune’s placement in the natal chart suggests a space of life where we see what other people can’t. Our perception here is psychic and unifies with the whole cosmos. It could be where we behave unusually, creatively, or people comment that ‘I cant get through to you’. We deny logic and material experience where the Neptune mist blows. Something special is revealed to us, something inexplicable and enchanted. But Neptune can also tell us lies, whispering hollow promises, or staining consciousness with desires of escapism, substance indulgence, spiritual fanaticism, or sexual gratification. The music is here. It’s where other people are deaf. But it’s something you can hear. So sometimes we don’t talk about these things. Everybody will call us delusional. Here we are awake where other people are asleep.

Neptune in the 1st house: the self is cast in a divinely mystical light, but this is foggy, the sacredness of the self is elevated, the image of the self may be completely out of touch with reality

Neptune in the 2nd house: self worth may be fluctuating, at times intimately sensitive with all things, at others the separation and emptiness becomes a longing for material consumption, the individual can see opportunities for developing wealth that other people cannot

Neptune in the 3rd house: unspoken words of other people, and the messages of divine voices circulate in the mind. the individual learns in a very unusual way that may be difficult for educators to grasp. they are pulled between dimensions of consciousness, often seeming in a state of confusion, understanding the language of many things

Neptune in the 4th house: the messages of divine wisdom from the inner guides are projected in the outer world, it tends to be filled with psychic activity. there is an insatiable feeling of abandonment. the mother image is contained in fantasy here, she wanted goddess as her mother

Neptune in the 5th house: romance is the tea party of life. they are soaring on infinite melodies. they can perceive their own eternity when they are holding a baby. the inner child speaks the words of the holy cosmic child. life is an enchanted stage

Neptune in the 6th house: sacrifice feels sacred with neptune in the 6th. there are imaginary ailments and anxieties that other people cannot soothe. daily life is filled with hidden, although secret miracles. a perfectionism that is so threaded with idealism that could never materialize

Neptune in the 7th house: the eyes of god reflect through the faces of everybody they pass. divine light is cast over those in contact, this gives the individual a romantic and kind view of the world. there may be betrayal because the individual idealises people so richly

Neptune in the 8th house: the perception for the spirit world and the dead is active, the individual may be a medium or be frequently visited by ghosts. there are feelings of abandonment and distrust in the self that become projected onto others, the individual imagines people to be more deceitful than they are

Neptune in the 9th house: sinking into spiritual symbolism and longings to create intimacy with the divine. indulging in many esoteric pursuits becomes the voyage of life. there may be religious fanaticism or complete separation from spiritual awareness

Neptune in the 10th house: the profession is an ideal and the person secretly longs to heal humanity in godly way, out of touch with what is humanly capable. it may be difficult for the person to decide upon a career because the dream is always calling in many directions

Neptune in the 11th house: friendships serve as a source of spiritual energy for the person. they can see collective humanity dancing in unity, friends make them feel at one with god. this person feels the injustice of the world on an intense degree

Neptune in the 12th house: the inner world calls with a honey voice of seduction, promising a source of comfort if only the individual would withdraw completely and lose touch with the world. the feeling of spiritual discontent seems impossible to satisfy

“Bill, when we first met you told me the story of a triangle from the second dimension. Someone who was looked down on just because he was a triangle, something he couldn’t control. He lashed out; In trying to free his people he destroyed his own world and now searches for a new place to call home. I related to that; being an OC most people don’t give you a chance, they just look down on you. Even other character do, it hurt and I isolated myself from other. Both canon’s and oc’s. But then I found you, and realized I wasn’t alone.

Bill, Reaper High could be that world for us. We can finally have a place where we belong. We both did horrible things, hurt a lot of people, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned from being here it’s that they will give us another chance. It will take time but if you are willing to try and make amends, they will help you. We can do it, together.

Take my hand.”

Donatello x Reader

Haunted

Prompt: Donnie x ghost reader? She can walk through walls and she floats, nothing can touch her, but she can touch others and pick up objects if she wants. She also has a ghostly howl.

Note: Aaaaaaaah that’s so cute!!

You didn’t know how it had happened, but somehow, one morning you woke up and you weren’t the same. You couldn’t keep your feet on the ground, and everyone seemed to walk through you. You thought, wished it was some horrible dream. But it wasn’t. It was a nightmare you couldn’t wake up from.

The days stretched to weeks to months and you found ways to pass the time, exploring the city of New York. You found coffee shops tucked in the quaintest places, bookstores full of brand new books. And you found in these places that you could interact with things. Objects mostly. But if you tried hard enough, sometimes you could interact with people. Some people, mostly animals and small children, could see you regardless of if you were trying to be seen or not. And you had been told by a little girl that you looked like an angel.

Nowadays, you were wandering the parts of New York other people couldn’t dream of finding. Abandoned churches covered in vines, old trees with initials carved in hearts, and now, a utopia underground.

It was amazing. Nothing you’d ever seen before. There were gadgets and gizmos everywhere, and more pizza boxes than you could ever dream to count. And one room, you found had quite the collection of classic novels. So, seeing as no one was there, you grabbed one of them and floated over the couch cross-legged and began to read.

It wasn’t for a few hours that you had company, all of which could see you. You were oblivious, still so caught up in the novel that you hadn’t noticed them come in.

“Ummm…” You looked up and met the eyes of a green mutant something or another. Bright blue eyes and a confused expression. “What are you, dudette?”

“I’m not really sure, to be honest.” You answered. “I just kind of am.”

“Is that my book?” Asked the tallest of the four. He was wearing a bright purple bandana and was covered in tech. He seemed to scan you with his goggles.

“Oh, I’m so sorry. I just got bored, and I can’t really interact with many things and so books are kind of-”

“N-no, it’s okay. I don’t mind.” He shook his head.

“Why are you here?” The one in the blue mask took a step forward and looked over you. “How did you find us?”

“When you spend a few months like this, you find all sorts of places.”

“Fascinating…” the one with the purple mask whispered as he examined his scans. “So you can interact with objects.”

“Yes.”

“And you’re invisible to humans.”

“I’m invisible to everyone except animals and small children.”

“Well, Mikey is both, so you’re covered.” The big one in the red mask chuckled.

“Hey!” retorted the one you assumed was Mikey.

“So, I’m sorry for barging in. I’ll just leave now.”

“You don’t have to leave.” The one in the blue mask said. “We uh, understand what it’s like to be alone.”

“So I can hang out here?”

“Yeah, bro!” Mikey said. “Wanna play Mario Kart?!”

“Do you really wanna get beat by a ghost?” You laughed. The boys smiled as you flew off after Mikey.

***

“Hey.” You drifted into Donnie’s lab later that night.

“Aah!” He jumped and dropped something made of glass.

“Sorry. Didn’t mean to spook you.”

“I-it’s all right. I was actually kind of hoping you would come in here.”

“Oh yeah? Why’s that?”

“So I could ask you a few questions.” He motioned to you. “About…what you are. For science.”

“Sure!” You hovered closer to his desk.

“Okay, so…” he pulled out a notebook and pushed his glasses up his snout. “When did this happen?”

“Two months ago.”

“How did it happen?”

“I just kind of woke up like this. There was no body or anything, it wasn’t a car crash…I’m not exactly sure how I ended up like this.”

“Interesting.”

“Like, I can’t walk. I’ve tried to ground myself, but I can’t. All I can do is float. I can touch objects, but it has to be very deliberate. Anything I interact could fall right through me. Even holding a book for a few hours took a lot of practice.”

“Mmhmm…” He hummed as his paper scratched across the paper. “Can you touch living things?”

“It’s kind of hard, but…” You held up your hand and waited for Donnie to look up and notice what you were doing. He slowly raised a large green three-fingered hand to meet yours. You focused all of your being into your fingers and palm, and pressed it against his. He shivered.

“You’re so cold. And tingly.”

“You know that feeling you get when your foot falls asleep? I think I’m made of that.”

“Casper?” He picked up your reference immediately.

“I haven’t seen that movie in a very long time.” You sighed. “I’m still working on electronics…”

“We have it. I could pop it in for you if you want.”

“Only if you watch it with me.”

There was a pause.

“What?”

“You’ve gotta take a break sometime, right? I think there’s more to you than meets the eye, Donatello.”

“Donnie.”

“Hmm?”

“Call me Donnie.”

“All right, Donnie. What do you say then?”

He smiled and nodded gently.

“Sure.”

***

Weeks later, you had found that when the brothers weren’t out on patrol, you often found yourself in Donnie’s lab. You think it helped him to have company while he worked. And whether you were talking to him or just floating in the corner of the room while reading his books, he seemed to work better with you there than without.

You also nudged him to take care of himself while he was busy, reminding him to drink water and take stretch breaks and get to sleep at a reasonable time. In your short time here, you had helped him function better than he ever had.

“How’re you doing today, Don?” You floated in through the closed door and draped your ghostly arms around his shoulders. He shuddered at the cold.

“G-great. How did you sleep?”

“I don’t.” you reminded him. He nodded.

“Oh right.” A small chuckle. “I keep forgetting.”

“Did finish Huckleberry Finn though.” You set it on his desk. “Thanks for letting me borrow it, by the way.”

“No problem.” He pointed to the back corner, where he kept all of his books. “You can borrow anything you want.”

“Sweet thanks!” You floated back there and rummaged through the shelf to find another book to read. The lair was so quiet when the boys were asleep. It was the perfect time to get some reading done. “Ooh, Dante’s Inferno.”

“So I have a question for you.”

“All right, shoot.” You floated back over to him, book in hand. He stood up just as you were next to him and came very, very close to stepping through you.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize you were right there.”

“You’re fine.” You looked up at him, the closest you’d ever been to him. And with your half-foot of float, you were only about half a foot from his face. God, he was tall. There were a few moments of quiet before he caught his train of thought.

“So, are you sure you’re dead?”

“Well, I mean…I’m a ghost, so I assumed I kind of must be.”

“I don’t think you are. I really don’t.” Donnie sat back down and pulled up some diagrams on his computer. “I think you’re trapped between two dimensions. Around the time of the Kraang invasion was when this happened, right?”

“Yeah…”

“I think you got spliced with a blast of interdimensional energy and it…it trapped you here and there simultaneously.”

“Okay.” You nodded, eyebrows drawing together as you mulled over the things he was telling you. “So I’m not a ghost, I’m just…whatever this is?”

“Yes, I think so.” He paused, looking at you when he told you the next thing. The more important thing. Possibly the most important thing he would ever tell you in the history of ever. “And I think I can reverse it.”

***

“You know he’s in love with you, right?” asked Mikey as you watched Donnie work from afar.

“What?” you blushed scarlet. “No, I don’t think he-”

“Nah, Mike’s right.” Raph nodded in agreement. “All he ever does is think about you, work on a cure. He ain’t ever done that before. He’s in love.”

“You can’t be serious. I’m just a ghost. I’m not even real. Yet. I can’t even touch him…or hold him…”

“Maybe that’s why he’s working so hard.” Mikey pointed out. You blushed even harder.

“Shut up.”

“You never know~” Mikey waggled his eyebrows. You wanted to smack him.

***

The more you worked with Donnie, the more you realized his brothers could be right about his feelings for you. You started to notice little things here and there. Little smiles when he talked to you, the change in the tone of his voice, little inside jokes that set him off. And every day, you found yourself falling harder for the tall brainy turtle. You knew it would be hard to love him, especially considering the fact that you couldn’t touch him, couldn’t hug him, couldn’t kiss him without causing him to get a chill. That’s what he got for falling in love with a ghost.

And so you haunted him for weeks that were quickly turning into months, floating around his lab, making him coffee in the early hours of the morning, and then pulling the blankets up around him at night. You took care of him. You looked after him. And he thanked you for it every day.

And then came the breakthrough.

He knew how to fix you. He knew how to return you to normal. The construction of the machine only took a few days, and then it was time.

“Okay, so when I turn it on, there’ll be a jolt and then you’ll be normal again. Hopefully. If not, we’ll go back to the drawing board and start over.”

“And what if it doesn’t work?” Leo asked. Mikey and Raph were there too, waiting to see what would happen.

“It’ll work.” You said with certainty. “I trust you.” Donnie’s heart raced.

“All right. Here goes.” His fingers shook as he moved the controls and then, finally, one of his thick fingers pressed the button.

You disappeared.

***

You had the worst headache in the world, you decided. How had you even gotten here? You had had the weirdest dream ever. Four gigantic mutant turtles were living in a sewer, and…had you been a ghost? Weird. Very weird.

You sat up in bed and looked around at your apartment room. There were cobwebs everywhere and…was that snow outside? Snow? In July? No. This couldn’t be. You pulled your very dusty phone off of the charger and looked at the date. December. No. Noooo. That couldn’t be right. It couldn’t possibly be right. Had you just skipped six months of your life? Had you gone into a coma? No. You couldn’t have, could you?

And yet, the more you thought about your strange dream, the less and less it seemed like a dream and the more and more it began to feel…real. Too real. You unlocked your phone only to find literally hundreds and hundreds of texts and emails from friends and family. It was like you had just disappeared. But you knew there was something in between. Some place underground. A lair. And four turtle brothers. Leo, Raph, Mikey, and…Donnie.

How could you have forgotten Donnie? Donnie and his wonderful collection of books. Donnie and his knowledge of all things nerd. Donnie and the bo staff. Donnie and the gigantic crush you had harbored for him.

Your fingers opened your phone and dialed a number. A number you had memorized just in case. Just in case you could ever use a phone again. You dialed it and waited and waited and waited as it rang. Hoping, praying he would pick up.

“Please please please…”

And then…

“H-hello?” a choked up voice that sounded so different now that you actually had ears.

“Donnie?”

A loud gasp. “(Y/N)?!”

“What happened?”

“You disappeared. I thought…I th-thought you were gone. Where are you?”

“I woke up at my apartment.” You told him your address. And then you waited and waited for him to finally knock on your bedroom window. You didn’t even wait for him to clamber inside, hugging him as he crouched on the fire escape. “It worked! It really worked! Thank you.”

“D-don’t mention it.” His voice was soft. Remnants of tears were still trailing down his scaly cheeks. You reached up to wipe them away.

“Shhhhh….” You shushed him as he started to cry again, pulling him back into you. “It’s okay. I’m here now. It’s all right.”

“I’m sorry. I just…lost you.”

“Let’s go back to the lair, all right? Get some pizza to celebrate? I’ve never been this hungry in my entire life.”

“Sounds like a plan.” Donnie smiled and nodded. He took your hand and helped you out the window. You followed him down through the sewers to the lair. God, it looked so different in real life. So big and bright and colorful.

“Honeys, I’m home!” You called into the solemn lair. The moping turtles sprang up to meet you. Immediately, Mikey swept you up in a bear hug.

“Dudette, you’re not dead!”

“No, I’m not.” You laughed.

“Glad to have you here. Like, really here.” Leo said.

“Glad to be here.”

“So Don, now that yer girlfriend’s real, there better not be too much PDA ‘round here.” Raph smirked.

“G-girlfriend?” Donnie’s voice squeaked. “No, I don’t…we’re not…”

“Do you want to be?” your voice was quiet. You didn’t realize how tall he was until now. You couldn’t just float up to his eye level anymore. You just had to look up at his towering form.

“Yes.”

“Well, then. It’s settled. Boyfriend.” You grabbed the tails of his mask and gently tugged until he was stooping over low enough to kiss you. His lips were soft and sweet and perfect. When you pulled apart he rested his forehead against yours.

“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that.”

You pecked the corner of his lips, causing him to blush.

“I think I might understand.”
