PLL #ENDGAME Theory

A.D = Avery Drake

It all starts at Radley - all roads lead back to Radley, Dr Cochran said he delivered “two (Cece and Spencer) of Mary’s babies” suggesting she possibly had more.

I think the night Spencer was born, a second baby was born. Veronica was outside Radley in a car while Peter was inside.

After Spencer was born, a second baby was born; one that Peter hadn’t accounted for, he couldn’t face having to deal with two children. So he pretended that just one child was born - Spencer, Spencer only escaped being left in Radley because she was born first.

The second child born was Avery - Avery Drake. We have seen her multiple times, but only once as a child. Remember the dancing girl from Spencer’s dream?

Avery spent the first part of her life in Radley, where she gets to know Cece, without realising they’re related, and Bethany Young, the three become very close friends.

Eventually, Avery shows she should be allowed out of/ runs away from Radley, the same way Cece was, however she chose not to spend her time in Rosewood. She spent her time in Courtland - where she made friends with Sara Harvey.

Avery was part of the group that Emily and Hanna met, however she was not at the meeting because she was preoccupied with Radley/the A Game.

We were told Avery was struggling with the disappearance of Sara, but she knew Sara was safe the whole time - she was worried about Bethany, after she vanished on labour day (when Mona hit her over the head and Melissa buried her alive)

Both Avery and Cece struggled with not knowing what happened to Bethany - until Mona arrived at Radley. Mona revealed to Avery about Spencer, and Avery clocks that she’s spent her life in a mental hospital while her twin had a luxury life, this is enough to drive anyone crazy.

Due to the sub-conscious guilt of deep down knowing she killed Bethany, while on her meds, Mona lies and says that it was Spencer and her friends.

That is Cece and Avery’s motives to play the game with Mona.

Mona = Black Hoodie

Cece = Redcoat

Avery = Black Widow

Sara Harvey had no reason to disguise herself, Spencer’s twin does.

Although Cece and Avery kept themselves hidden from Mona, they begun to fear she may remember them from her time at Radley and reveal them to the girls, so they stole the game off her.

Avery and Cece continued the game with the soul purpose of revenge for the girls killing Bethany.

For unknown reasons, they decided to end the game in 6x10, however, Cece agreed to take the fall for Avery so that Avery could enjoy her life free. Cece lied about her story in order to protect her, and Sarah Harvey agreed to join as she was friends with Avery and heard her story.

After Cece gave up 5 years of freedom for Avery, to then be murdered, Avery started the game again in order to avenge her death.

Avery has lost the only things she ever had; Bethany and Cece. She has nothing left to live for, and that’s why she’s ending the game, after she finds out who killed Cece - she has nothing left to lose.

A.D = Avery Drake.

ADDITIONAL CLUES:

Notice how all the liars have only one eye shown, but Spencer has two - hinting she has a twin.

The scene in which A is seen in the zoo, she matches Spencer.

BETHANY YOUNG AND WREN KINGSTON ARE ENDGAME

Marlene posted this sometime in October when PLL finished production. Notice how it says “safley” instead of “safely”.

Who can’t spell well? WREN!

What I love even more is that it says “By By” instead of “Bye Bye” too…

By = B.Y. = BETHANY YOUNG!

This is it guys. Bethany Young is endgame. She IS Uber A / A.D. and Spencer’s twin, and Wren is her helper… because she looks so much like Spencer!

Final list of reasons why Bethany Young HAS to be important to the endgame in some way

Here are all my reasons why Bethany’s name just has to pop up in this final season. Not saying she’s AD (but she very well could be!) - but at absolute minimum, she is important to the story in some capacity.

1) Dr Cochran said that he delivered two of Mary’s babies - one went to Jessica (Charlotte), the other went to family county services (???) and Veronica confirmed that Spencer went to her. So, there is a third unknown child who grew up in Radley. Who do we know of that grew up in Radley? Bethany.

“Embrace your darkness. I had to. That’s how you win the game. - A.D” This just sounds like someone was forced to live in Radley and ‘put up with it’. They can cry about their life everyday, or they can soak up their circumstances and use it to, oh I dunno, play the A game. Bethany?

2) Dr Cochran referred to the second unknown baby as “underweight but tenacious” which is exactly the words that the writers chose for Toby to call Spencer. They were foreshadowing the similarities between the second baby (Bethany) and Spencer because Bethany is Spencer’s twin.

3) The Aunt Jessie incident. Mary wanted to be close to her daughter (Bethany). She pretended to be Jessica because Jessica was on the board of Radley and was allowed to sign out patients. Bethany started calling Mary “mum” which will blow Mary’s cover - she’s not supposed to be out of Radley - she’s pretending to be Jessica, after all. So, Mary demanded she call her “Aunt Jessie”.

4) Jessica told Mary that the Charles grave is real. This was a huge lie. Could this be why Bethany drew Jessica like this? Bethany thought her sister was dead. (No wonder Mary pretended to be Jessica by sleeping with Peter. She wanted to punish her sister.)

5) The only boy this could possibly be is Charles. So the fact that Bethany was drawing Charles being taken away from her (adopted by Jessica), means that the loss of Charles was important. It’ll make sense for Bethany to be A.D and wanting to avenge Charlotte’s death. The signs of Bethany being angry at the loss of Charlotte is in this picture.

6) What the hell?

Has this got anything to do with the fact that Bethany (a talented artist) never draws her face? Well, it’s tricky to answer because we’ve already seen her face: Troian’s face! She’s Spencer’s twin. Mary had ‘two Spencers’.

7) Charlotte called Wren to tell him that Melissa buried Bethany - what if that wasn’t Charlotte trying to break up Wren and Melissa, but instead, she was just trying to get justice for Bethany by ruining the life of the one who killed her (Melissa killed Bethany as she died from suffocation). This is again foreshadowing the strong connection between Charlotte and Bethany. (Assuming she is dead.)

8) If Bethany really is Spencer’s twin, that means the flashback on the roof with Marion wasn’t depicted properly. Since Charlotte is older than Spencer and therefore older than Spencer’s twin, Charlotte would’ve been older than Bethany. They weren’t the same age. Essentially, the error was NOT that Toby and Alison looked like teenagers when Marion was alive. The error was that Charlotte looked so young. She wasn’t that young.

9) Why would Sara Harvey care about sending letters to Bethany’s parents? This could be Bethany telling her parents that she is alive and well.

OR, maybe that was Sara Harvey, who, under orders from Charlotte, had to send Bethany’s parents flowers. That still highlights the important relationship Charlotte and Bethany had.

10) Was this Bethany in 420?

11) Did Spencer’s twin kill Yvonne? Did the twin provide poisonous those butterscotch biscuits that Yvonne was eating in 713? That could’ve been AD’s dangerous way of doing her sister a favour. “Oh c’mon sis, I know you love Toby. I was doing you a favour!”

12) Letters from A.D. Bethany and Alison DiLaurentis were sending each other letters - is this Bethany’s lair, and she kept Alison’s letters? Is this Bethany’s motive; that Alison lured her to Rosewood to kill her? It’s awfully suspicious that Uber A has a box titled “Letters from A.D.” in their own lair, since they ARE A.D! Well, maybe the letters are from Alison (to Bethany), rather than from Uber A.

The point of this post isn’t really to jump to conclusions; she may be dead, alive, A.D,, a helper, or just another one of Mary’s children. Point being that she is important in some way and I can’t wait to see how. I will be 100% disappointed in the endgame if her name is not even mentioned in some way. I’ll be sure to update this if I think of more reasons as to why she is important to the story!

This is still my favorite theory.

Questions/Plot holes

1) If Sara was only looking to find what was in the old Radley Sanitarium, then why was she stalking Emily?

2) How exactly did Alex end up in possession of Charlotte’s belongings?

3) How did Charlotte find out about what Melissa did to Bethany “that night”?

4) Was it Avery threatening Melissa about the tape of her confessing to burying Bethany? And if so, how did Alex find out about that tape?

5) How was Charlotte making regular visits to the Amish farm with Archer, considering she was in Welby?

6) How did Alison not know about those visits to the Amish farm, considering it was stated that Charlotte was only released on time for Christmas?

7) How did Alison know Charlotte was at the church?

8) How did Alison not know about the phone call between Mona and Charlotte?

9) If Noel did kill Sara because of something about the Carrissimi group, why would Jenna outright tell Caleb that she was lying?

10) How did Alex know about Emily being late for her test in 7x04?

11) How did Charlotte find out she was adopted?

12) How did Jessica get the picture of Red Coat at the graveyard?

13) Why were Noel and Archer in contact with each other?

14) Who used Archer’s identity to travel to France?

15) Where did Mary go after she killed Jessica?

16) When did Mary find out Charlotte was alive?

17) How did Mona know about the recording of Peter and Mary discussing Jessica’s death?

18) If Alex was working separately from Archer, why did Archer immediately think Alison killed Charlotte after Alex was in possession of Alison’s red jacket?

19) If Mary wasn’t working with Alex, then why was she at the blind school in 7x10?

20) If Mary didn’t find out about Alex until a few weeks ago, then how did she know where Archer was buried in 7x19?

21) Wren and Alex were in a relationship around the time of 4B. However, Melissa was with Wren in London at this time!

PLL: NEW CLUES! THE MONTGOMERY FAMILY + THE DRAWINGS + BETHANY CONNECTION

So in previous theories ive made several theories connecting the montgomery family to bethany, a new clue i came upon is quite telling. In the ep 6x17 hanna is helping ella out with her wedding dress and theme etc, ella tells us a little about her and byron:

hmm so ella and byron rented a barn to get married in? now barns have been a huge clue in this show, barns are associated with farms, we got the camplbell farm, we got spencers barn, the barn that emily passed out in, now a barn that ella n byron got married at. now remember this drawing:

many of us have already in the past pondered whether ella was the woman in this drawing and it still looks like it could be ella, now given this new information, this could very well be bethany drawing, i found it interesting she said they basically dressed up as “cowhands” now heres the definiton:

“cow·handˈkouhand/nounplural noun: cowhands is a person employed to tend or ranch cattle; a cowboy or cowgirl.”

in the drawing we see cows ,and we also see horse. now this brings me back to this scene:

i found this really interesting a cow tongue? hmm why is that aria from the start, has been associated with farm animals the most? we got pigtunia as if aria grew up on farm possibly, and byron got her the pig to remind of her of her childhood. look at all the A clues dealing with pigs, then we have horse connections with aria as well, i remember when ezra a said he would buy aria pony or something to that degree.

Now speaking of horses, this brings me back to who was really the lady in the big beige purse?

now this scene with ella and her big beige purse was in the same episode where ronda tells us about the lady in the big beige purse taking bethany out of radley. now think about it. if it is indeed the montgormery family in that drawing, what if bethany was apart of that family? what if byron is the father of bethany, and ella was taking bethany out of radley on trips? jsut a thought, is it really a coincidence that we see ella with a big beige purse in the same ep that ronda talks about the rich lady in the big bige purse? was ella in disguise?

Now, heres more connections to bethany from the Montgomery family, we all remember this, when eddie recognized aria from radley, why was aria so fixed on the bethany situation, why was she so determined to be the main one to get info on bethany? what does aria know about bethany? also to throw in there the twin looking picture in byrons family photo album which is still weird, could it be bethany and aria?

then we have this drawing, what if this was aria and bethany when the seperation happened

another bethany/montgromery connection, so apparently melissa buried bethany, now i still find it a little strange that on “that night” in th flashback, byron is talking to ali, when hes about to walk away, he turns around and sees melissa cmoing out of the door, n then he glares as if it was odd to see melissa , nowi still find this strange why the writers felt the need to shwo us that byron saw melissa and made that glare at the sight of her

now remember this weird scene where meredith tells byron:

what was meredith about to say, “that you…” that byron what? what else did byron do that night?  did byron have something to do with bethanys murder? lets think about it, when byron goes to the basement and sees scared aria he tells her i didnt hurt alison… but byron seemed like that was his intentions that night as it were monas and everybody else intention to kill ali that night. what if byron tried to kill kill ali but hit the wrong person, bethany? his daughter? just thinking aloud. so we have a weird eye glare that byron gives melissa who is connected to burying bethany, according to meredith, byron did something else that night, and meredith knows first hand what byron did, and meredith found it damaging this info that she went off her meds and went crazy aria because of this secret. now that tells me theres more to what were in those pages and did ali take some of these pages out? or who?

welp theres the montgomery/bethany connection ,theres several other clues but this is just the jist of things. its a huge possibility that aria is also marys kid which could tie into this later.

The Alison We See Isn’t Alison

This isn’t some elaborate theory but more focused on the little things that I’ve side-eyed. Have you noticed when Alison got back, she’s been more lowkey and clueless? Some say it’s because Bethany (Alison’s twin) took Alison’s place while the real Alison is still lurking in the shadows. I highly recommend the in-depth theory of this idea which is a video on YT. It’s on the long side (an hour and twenty minutes) but it’s oh, so juicy.

However, I’m just pointing out things to go along with the Bethany has taken Alison’s place theory. The main points here is Alison’s sudden lack of knowledge that we’ve all noticed. Starting from when “Alison” just came back.

One would think that Alison would want her gang of girls to walk her during school because this is her first day back and she should have some kind of support system. But what if I told you it was because it was “Alison’s” first time being in Rosewood High and she needed her friends to lead her to places without seeming like she’s lost? Bethany has been locked up for majority of her life and with this new identity, she has to make it seem like everything is normal. Even if she has absolutely no idea what to do sometimes.

From there, Bethany has been continuing Alison’s identity through the journals she used to write. You know, the journals Alison kept so the girls could “continue her legacy”?

Bethany found the diaries and studied them front to back - memorizing every little detail so she could pull this off flawlessly. However, she couldn’t continue the nastiness that was Alison’s sense of ownership over the girls. That’s the difference between them. Alison feels like she’s a god towards the girls while Bethany cherishes the friendship. Isn’t it weird how throughout the early seasons of the show when Alison appeared to the girls in “hallucinations”, she’s acted exactly how she was before she “died” but as soon as she comes back, she’s completely different and less dominate? How could she be completely cryptic, talking to Aria in true Alison fashion one moment-

Then 3 weeks later (In PLL Time season 3-5a was A MONTH), be this completely vulnerable girl who is trying to stay lowkey and blend with the curtains?

The entire demeanor and aura has changed, it’s like two different people…

I also think this explains that weird thing that happened between Alison and Caleb in season 5. We all believed that maybe Alison knew Caleb from somewhere and they were keeping it hush, hush from everyone else. But maybe….that’s not it. From the journals, Bethany knew Ezra, Toby, and Paige, which counted for all of the girls’ romances but last time Alison was around, Hanna was on the thick side and had no romantic interests. Now, Hanna is with Caleb. And it made Bethany nervous. He was the only person she had no background information on and it worried her. This is why her guard was always up with him - what if he finds out about her secret?

(Even when Ali apologized to Paige, her apology was very basic. “I was mean. I’m sorry. For everything.” She couldn’t go into specifics because she didn’t know them. In that moment, it’s better to play the “for everything” card to be safe and cover all bases.)

However, although it was used as a blueprint, Alison didn’t write everything in those journals. That’s where Bethany had to freestyle. But sometimes, she wouldn’t know exactly what to say in certain situations. For example in 7x16 when Emily asked a question that she and the viewers have been dying to know since season 1:

Just when we thought we were going to figure out the reason behind Alison’s behavior towards Emily years ago, we get an “I don’t know”. That’s because Bethany doesn’t know why Alison treated Emily the way she did - she never wrote that in the journals. Even going into 7x18 with Emison’s intimate moment, “Alison” said she dreamed of them at the kissing rock. Did she really dream of it…….or did she read about Alison’s little idea and just went from there?

That would explain why so many Emisonians wonder why Alison never brought up their history with the kissing rock - it’s because Bethany doesn’t know it. Also, this sentence said by Alison was also a bit odd.

Emily and Alison escaping to Paris was a dream, something she had in Welby but her leaving? Where to? It can’t be her wanting to leave Rosewood because she made the active decision to stay while everyone else left so that brings us back to leaving where again. Alison did in fact leave. She left when she “died” - that wasn’t a dream but her reality for 2 years. But if this was Bethany, her wanting to leave Radley for so long……that could be a dream she had. A long-term fantasy.

This Bethany turned Alison change would also make sense why “Alison” has a soft spot for Charlotte. Majority of us and even the liars cannot understand the reason WHY Alison would pick Charlotte over the girls. Charlotte tortured them, trapped them in a dollhouse, almost killing them several times and all of a sudden, Alison is sympathetic because “she has a sister” and wants the best for her? Even begging the girls to testify for her release despite everything she has done to them? That was a slap in the face to everyone. The bogus idea of “this is my sister” is exactly that, bogus, and I believe the real reason is because Alison Bethany identifies with Charlotte. They have this sense of relation with being locked up like animals and now that she’s out, she wants to care for Charlotte and get her out as well. That’s why “Alison” kept pushing for the liars to help her, not really caring for their own trauma.

With the possibility of another set of twins running around: whether it being Alison or actually Spencer, there are some pretty interesting evidence stacked up against both of them. Alison specifically.

*NEW* Pretty Little Liars Endgame (Alternative)

Whilst I still stand by my first endgame theory, today I want to explore an alternative way the endgame could potentially unfold.

One day at Radley, Charlotte accidentally pushed Marion Cavanaugh off the roof. Jessica, who was on the board at Radley, agrees to help her niece Charlotte by ruling Marion’s death a suicide, but internally within Radley, Charlotte blamed Bethany for it. Charlotte reversed the roles when telling her story to the liars in 610 so that they would feel sorry for her.

Jessica feels bad that an innocent patient, Bethany, was blamed for something her niece did so she signs Bethany out of Radley to adopt and ride a horse. Considering she helped Charlotte get away with it, it is the absolute least Jessica can do. But Bethany isn’t appreciative of these sympathetic gifts because she knows that Jessica is having an affair with her father. Jessica asks Bethany to call her “aunt Jessie” as a way of saying “I’m not having an affair with your father, I’m just a long lost aunt hence I’ve been around your father lately!” Bethany throws a tantrum and buckets after Jessica’s lies. “Is it like mother like daughter?” and “can I trust anyone in that family?” says Bethany in her recordings. Bethany’s hatred is building towards two dead characters, ‘mother and daughter’ Charlotte and Jessica. (Even young Charles thought they were a part of the DiLaurentis family for quite some time.)

After Charles’ funeral, Charlotte’s doctors let her go, out of belief that trapping a transgender patient in a mental asylum isn’t doing any good. And, she’s apparently been making progress… again, Bethany was blamed for Charlotte’s fatal mistake. She never returned to Radley as Charlotte: she was free to walk the streets of Rosewood. She created the new alias CeCe Drake, after having found out about her birth mother Mary Drake (although having still never met her). CeCe attended college and shared a roommate, explaining how she knew everyone at Eric Kahn’s party and perhaps how she slipped into the Rosewood High yearbook. This also explains why Charlotte needed a visitors pass to see Mona in Radley, as she was no longer a patient that can sneak down the hall.

During college, CeCe and Noel happened to be at the same frat party. Noel accidentally pushed a girl down the stairs, but of course the bystander ex-Radley patient gets the blame for it. As a result, Charlotte is kicked out of college for something Noel did. Hence Noel helped Charlotte in the dollhouse; he felt he owed something to Charlotte. He took something from her that she worked extra hard for.

While CeCe was off beginning her new life in Rosewood (still before ‘that night’), Bethany was still in Radley, taking medication that should have Charlotte’s name on it, drowning in her own drool. That’s sure to drive her crazy.

“That night”, Bethany escaped with the intent of killing Charlotte as revenge for ruining her life. Jessica, who was Bethany’s caretaker at Radley, got a call that night from Radley workers informing her that Bethany has escaped. “I’m very worried, please send someone”, said Jessica, knowing how much Bethany hates her and her niece. A war was brewing. Charlotte wanted to hurt Bethany before Bethany harms anyone. Charlotte accidentally hit Ali instead of Bethany, but thankfully Mrs. Grunwald came to Ali’s rescue. “I swear I thought it was Bethany, mum” cried Charlotte.

Mona hit Bethany with a shovel thinking she was hitting Ali; she hated Ali that much. The purpose of a psychic saving Ali was because only a psychic could know to come back to Rosewood and save another person: Bethany Young. Mrs Grunwald sensed more danger and went and saved Bethany. I don’t like supernatural elements as much as the next person, but it exists, and we have to acknowledge it and use it.

Notice how the person saving Ali/Bethany is different in the two instances. TWO people were pulled out of the dirt. (Red sleeve vs no sleeve.)

Bethany Young is alive. Bethany Young is Uber A and AD, which stands for After Death. Whilst there have been many deaths over the seasons, Bethany’s “death” was THE death that started it all and so it’s very iconic for her to go by AD. We know AD has to be someone who has access to medical records, as they leaked Yvonne’s abortion and Veronica’s sickness. Who better than someone who successfully faked her death?

Bethany couldn’t stand the idea of that bitch Charlotte getting 5 years treatment and then getting to go home with her family, happily ever after. As revenge, Bethany killed Charlotte the exact same way that Charlotte killed Marion and blamed her for it: Charlotte was pushed off a building (bell-tower).

Here is our clue from the writers that we should be looking at Bethany. In the (FAKE) flashback we saw of Bethany, she was wearing this red sweater.

Yet we saw someone in an awfully similar red sweater walk into the bell-tower the very night Charlotte was killed: Bethany? Again, even though it was a fake flashback and that red sweater doesn’t technically exist, it is the writers foreshadowing.

And if it wasn’t already clear, Bethany killed Jessica, too… the affair that could’ve teared apart her family forever (Bethany might have become related to Charlotte, that thought scared Bethany!) and Jessica also helped Charlotte get away with pushing Marion. Jessica had to go. Season 5A made it extremely easy to guess that Melissa and/or Peter killed Jessica with Peter’s drugs, and hence they lied about where they were the night she was killed. Yet, here we are in 7A, and the writers still haven’t confirmed Melissa and Peter’s involvement. For that reason, I believe the answer is elsewhere. If it really was Melissa and Peter, that could’ve been confirmed years ago. If it really was Melissa and/or Peter, why is it being extended into season 7B? Because there’s more to the story. It was Bethany.

Bethany/AD chooses to frame Melissa for Charlotte’s murder. Out of all people in Rosewood, why did the killer chose Melissa? Because Melissa has a motive that would make sense in front of a jury: Charlotte sent Wren the video of Melissa confessing to burying Bethany the actual person in the grave, which lead to Wren breaking up with her. Melissa’s relationship crumbled, combined with the simple fact that Charlotte is in possession of a video that could destroy Melissa’s reputation forever, is why Bethany decided Melissa is the perfect candidate to frame: she would have a motive to want Charlotte dead.

Bethany stole Melissa’s suitcase, broke the handle and bashed Charlotte’s head with it. She then put the suitcase back before Melissa notices it’s missing… or did she? Whilst unpacking her clothes, Melissa says in 613 “I know I had more clothes in here”. Evidently Melissa’s suitcase was tampered with.

Melissa was the person sending unsigned, emoji texts throughout 6B. She was being harassed by Bethany, that if she doesn’t admit to killing Charlotte or find another killer before the end of the election night, her confession video will be shared with everyone.

How did Bethany even get her hands on this video? From Wren. As we know, Charlotte sent the video to Wren so clearly Wren is in possession of this video. The reason he instantly ended his relationship with Melissa is because Bethany is his sister and he was mad that Melissa potentially killed his sister and didn’t say anything. Of course, she’s alive now, but what a big secret that is to keep.

As Emily stated in 617 after being attacked, “there’s definitely 2 people after us”. Bethany wanted Emily to touch the suitcase handle (why not have a second person to frame?) whilst Melissa was the one trying to get it back to save herself.

Marlene has said there is one question she can’t wait to answer, but she can’t tell us what this question is because the question itself is a spoiler. That question is precisely “who is actually in the grave?“ The answer is one that makes total sense: Alison’s twin. This also explains how the Jane Doe was identified as Alison in the first place: similar DNA.

They foreshadowed this in 513 by showing a dead Alison in a grave. This was the writers telling us that YES, despite all complications, there really is an Alison in the grave. We already have twins; Mary and Jessica. However, scientifically, twins CAN give birth to twins. So, it is possible to have another set of twins involved in the endgame. Also, Marlene has explicitly said that “we won’t see Courtney”. We may never actually find out the name of Ali’s twin. It doesn’t matter. They aren’t alive, they aren’t A like in the books. We will never see them. They are DEAD.

It’s also possible that the person in the grave is a random girl we’ve never met before - probably one of the many new cast members joining the finale.

This is tricky to answer for 2 reasons:

- At the time of this Tweet, Marlene knew there will be a FAKE flashback involving Bethany in 610. Ignore that flashback COMPLETELY. It never happened. That was Charlotte retelling a story of lies.

- There is before the incident regarding her face,

- There is after the incident regarding her face.

What incident?

One day whilst on temporary release, Bethany was with Jenna in Jenna’s garage. Alison and her friends threw fireworks inside and as a result, Jenna was blinded and Bethany was burnt. This is how the show is coming full circle as we are circling right back to the stories of season 1. Bethany hates Ali and the girls for the permanent damage she has suffered.

Alison blamed Toby for ‘The Jenna/Bethany Thing’ which Bethany assumes means that Toby was involved, too. Hence, in a true moment of anger right after her name was announced to the public on television, Bethany blew up Toby’s house.

Note that Bethany never shows her face in her pictures. This is not laziness by any means, she is actually a brilliant artist.

So whilst Bethany is framing Melissa for Charlotte’s murder, she is harassing the Liars over it too because they ruined her life.

Bethany/AD is walking around Rosewood in masks. Her face is deformed, on top of the fact that she’s supposed to be dead. She cannot show her face. Further, 6A revealed that Bethany Young shared a room in Radley with Leslie Stone. That same season we saw Leslie with boxes of glasses identical to those that AD has been wearing. Leslie knows Bethany is alive and she was trying to locate her long lost friend - she found her!

Bethany shot Spencer as not only revenge for burning her (The Jenna/Bethany Thing), but for being the one to bash her over the head that night. Of course, Spencer didn’t actually do it (Mona did) but since everyone in Rosewood thought it was Spencer, Bethany later latched on to this popular belief. (Note: if Alison survived a rock to the head, Bethany survived a bashing to the head, too. Heightened reality, unfortunately.)

This message was from Bethany:

Again, note the blacked face.

This Black Veil person from 401 was Bethany. CeCe’s story of who this person was, revolved around Sara Harvey pulling off a veil to reveal her face, but in reality, there is a (BURNT) Alison mask underneath that veil. CeCe’s version couldn’t be true as Sara never had a mask when she entered the limo. Sara never saw the girls as dolls - Sara was just Charlotte’s decoy, so it makes no sense for Sara to have been playing dolly earlier… This is Uber A.

Why would Sara Harvey care about Bethany Young? She doesn’t. Below is Bethany sending flowers to her family who she misses. She wants to tell them she’s alive and well! But first she wants to finish off this game and punish the people who hurt her.

Despite the above Tweet being from 2013, she is going to follow through with that in these final episodes because:

I know what you’re probably thinking… Bethany being Uber A is not satisfying. To me, it is! It goes right back to season 1 as it revolves around ‘that night’. The person that suffered that night in the pilot, is back for revenge!

I could do a part 2 for this theory to explain who is Bethany. Who are her parents? Is she a DiLaurentis? Is the “aunt Jessie” thing supposed to be taken literally - is she a Drake? Is she someone’s twin? Is Melissa Bethany? Is Sara Harvey Bethany (I hope not, but very possible)? Is Bethany Charlotte’s twin who also transitioned, hence Jason thought he saw CeCe that night (but really it was Bethany, like Charlotte says)? I believe we are dealing with Bethany - but who is Bethany, is for another day. I do NOT believe for a split second they will make Uber A be a person we’ve never met before. That’s pathetic.

When the Bethany-ideas came flooding to me, I googled ‘Bethany is Uber A’ to see the fan consensus on this topic and the first result was an amazing post by @the-outlast. Whilst we have some largely contrasting opinions on some aspects, shoutout to this person for a couple pieces of evidence I used to explain our belief that Bethany is alive :)

The Endgame Puzzle - What Can You See?

Everybody has said that the puzzle pieces look like Bethany Young’s drawings and I definitely agree so I edited a screenshot from the promo for the next episode and once I saw a certain picture in my head of what it could be, I can’t unsee it - it’s pretty hard to explain so bare with me here. This is it flipped 180, so the opposite way that anyone would see it looking down at the board the right way, obviously.

Point A - looks like a head/face looking upwards and their hair falling back behind them. As though they’re standing looking up at someone above them.

It seems as though the the person who drew the photo was looking down to this person, like this…

Point B - These lines reminded me of an octagon we’ve seen before around someone…

I know Bethany was buried lying down and the hole wasn’t deep enough for her to be standing up BUT the drawing looks so similar to ones in Bethany’s book…

I always thought the drawings in Bethany’s book were drawn by another person, since it seems, she is in most of them from another’s POV. She could of asked someone to draw for her? Eddie Lamb, Wren, Charlotte, a friend who is yet to be revealed (Lucas or Jenna)…  and so the drawing is theirs of what they imagined Bethany went through when she was buried alive. They might want the girls to suffer for it - did they even figure out what actually happened to her?

It could also be to represent Mona and what she went through in the dollhouse. She had been in there alone a lot longer than the girls and still through everything she does, she’s yet to be seen as ‘one of them.’ Plus, Mona did hit Bethany so this could be her way of making up for that. You made me hurt her when it should of been one of you…

And lastly, it could be a hint towards Melissa since she buried Bethany.

What do you guys see? I think I’ve genuinely gone mad staring at it for too long…

What if... PLL Predictions

These are my “what ifs” about what could happen in the following episodes of PLL. These predictions could be far from the truth, as some are pretty outrageous, but oh well! I had fun writing it and i hope you have fun reading it. Tell me your thoughts!

What if … Bethany Young is alive and she is A.D.

What if … She is also Mary’s child. My theory is that Mary had twins. She had two baby girls, yet, one of those babies went to the Hastings and the other went to an Adoption Agency, in which in the following days or years, she was adopted by the Young family.

What if . . . the body found a year later was the Avery girl that lived in the town next door. Her friends think they cant hang out with her anymore because she has been living in a mental institution since Sarah Harvey “died,” but really, she was killed (I don’t know if this would happen lol – but it would a cool twist)

What if … Mary assumes that the Hastings adopted both of the twins. Mary assumes that Melissa and Spencer are the twins. This is why she was hinting at the fact that they looked like twins and that when she entered the Hasting’s house, she asked, “where are THEY?” instead of “Where is she?” However, the Hastings never knew about that Mary delivered twins, or else, I feel like Veronica and Peter would have adopted the second baby as well.

What if … all along Melissa has known about Spencer’s twin and that she has been protecting Spencer from the very beginning. She found out possibly by overhearing talks between Mary and Peter.

Yes, Melissa buried Bethany Young on purpose.

What if … Melissa buried Bethany Young, but for different reasons. I don’t think the reason why Melissa buried Bethany Young alive was protecting Spencer for hitting her with a shovel; rather, I think she found Bethany Young on the ground – nearly dead – and she buried her alive to protect Spencer from knowing the truth about her twin sister.

What if … Melissa stopped hating Spencer and started to protect her. For many years Melissa saw Spencer in a horrible way. Melissa (from the earlier seasons) saw Spencer as her adopted sister who came from a crazy family: the Drake family. Melissa was mean and competitive with Spencer until Cece Drake came into town. Melissa got protective over Spencer because Melissa found Cece Drake very threatening. Melissa got paranoid that Cece Drake would threaten the truth. If Melissa knew Spencer was adopted and Spencer has a twin, I’m sure Melissa knew that Cece Drake was related to her as well. Melissa tried her best to protect Spencer and to protect her family as well.

What if … Melissa dies at the end. I have a feeling that Melissa might die. Bethany Young – A.D, Spencer’s twin, or whoever – will kill her and it will be really tragic because after all this time she has been protecting her sister, Spencer, from day one.

What if … Bethany Young became fascinated with Alison and her friends. She dyed her hair blonde out of desperately wanting to be Alison ( I doubt this will happen but ya never know haha), Bethany Young never knew about her birth mother, Mary, or her real father, Peter. Like Spencer, she thought her real family was the Young Family. According to the show, Jessica Dilaurentis was sleeping with Mr. Young and Jessica Dilaurentis was taking Bethany Young to the stables to ride horses and forcing her to call her “Aunt Jessie.” Bethany hated Jessica for trying to make this relationship between them. Yet, for Jessica, she knew that this was her niece and for this, she was making an effort to get to know the Young family (possibly a little too much haha), as well as trying to take care of her like she was her own daughter (giving her clothes etc).

What if . . . Charlotte lied, yet only about one thing. She was the one who pushed Marion off of the building but blamed Bethany for doing it. Jessica Dilaurentis made certain Charles/Charlotte got away with it because technically Charlotte was legally HER child. Bethany Young felt betrayed by “Aunt Jessie” for taking sides with crazy Charlotte, thus she drew those pictures of Mrs. D with devils horns and the word “liar” all over her face. She escaped that night. Charlotte might have saw the pictures and thus, thought she escaped to go kill her mom, Mrs. D, so Charlotte escaped too, hoping to stop/kill Bethany beforehand. But Bethany was never going to kill Mrs. D. – rather, she was going to meet Alison, like she said she wanted to do in the letters. Charlotte “found” Bethany and “killed” her with a rock – but like we know already, but it wasn’t Bethany… in fact, it was Alison.

What if . . . Bethany saw Spencer and Alison fighting that night and at that moment that she REALIZED that she has an identical twin (haha). And then sometime after that, Mona hits her, thinking she was Alison, she is on the ground unconscious. And then Melissa comes by sees Spencer’s crazy twin presumably “dead” on the ground and then Melissa buries her alive, hoping that Spencer never finds the truth about Mary or her twin sister, Bethany. (Yikes. I know.) Again, she is protecting Spencer as well as her family’s reputation.

What if . . . Bethany is pulled out of the dirt by some character (there have been two scenes of someone pulling someone out of the dirt. We know that Ali and Mrs. Grundleward was definitely one of them, and possibly it was showed twice, but I believe that Bethany was pulled out of the dirt as well. (I’m thinking Wilden pulled her out. But it could be Wren, Archer, Mary, or Jenna? or Garret? I don’t have all of the evidence to form a theory for that one just yet.)

What if … Bethany has been “hiding in plain sight” since that night, by using masks. She stalks the Hastings Family and the Dilaurentis family, as well as the girls. Her motive since season 1 has been to understand where she has come from, as well as understand Alison and her friends.

What if … A.D. has only been A since Charlotte’s Death. Though, Bethany has been possibly doing A-like things for many seasons, as she has been trying to figure out her family. Yet, she just recently became the new A.

What if … A.D. stands for Alison Dilaurentis. It is her initials that Alison would sign off to the letters that she wrote to Bethany. Bethany has always been fascinated with A.D. possibly because Alison had the family and all the friends. Alison was also BFF with her twin sister, Spencer; a relationship to which Bethany could never have.

What if … Bethany became A.D. because it was time for “endgame.”

What if … Bethany is Black Widow. And famously tweeted by Marlene King,

What if … “endgame” is Bethany’s identity and story becoming known. At this point in time, it makes perfect sense. All the pieces are in place (literally puzzle pieces) – Spencer knows she is adopted, Spencer knows her birthmother is Mary Drake, Mary Drake is in town, Mrs. D is dead, Alison Dilaurentis is alive, and Charlotte, who has been tormenting the girls for years as A, is dead. It’s perfect timing for Bethany to come back from the dead and to tell her story.

Also:

What if … “endgame” is Bethany putting an end to Charlotte and Mona’s game, but in a really twisted horrible way: the board game. The sole purpose of the board game is having this clear-cut finish that all board games have, if played. It’s time to finish the game.

What if … Bethany is still fascinated with the liars, but I guess in a really dark way. For starters, she is fascinated by the girls by doing them “favors.” Starting with Alison and Emily. She thinks she is doing Alison a favor by getting her pregnant with Emily’s eggs. So they can finally be together and happy.

What if … Bethany is doing Spencer a favor by dressing up as “Spencer” and sleeping with Toby so they can get back together. In my opinion, Bethany has only pretended to be Spencer this one time. It was only by accident that Ezra saw her and Wren at the airport and for that, she had to pretend to be Spencer in that moment as well.

What if … Bethany is doing Hannah a favor by making her realize she is in love with Caleb instead of … lol that other guy, who I am totally blanking on his name, and doing her a favor to realize that she is the one who needs to be with him instead of Spencer.

What if … Bethany is doing Aria a favor by getting her to get on the A team so she can be distracted from her wedding and put her relationship with Ezra in jeopardy.

Because:

What if … Ezra either killed Charlotte. OR he was in shady business with Cece when he was writing his book.

But if Ezra didn’t kill Charlotte…

What if … Mona killed Charlotte to try to protect the liars and to make them feel safe once and for all (sidenote: it is annoying that this case has lost importance in Rosewood.. now it’s all about who killed Archer)

What if … Archer Dunhill and Wren Kingston are brothers. They are both doctors from England (yes I believe that they are legit doctors) Archer was never in love with Alison. He only pretended to get her money (“something Charlotte would’ve wanted”) and to make go crazy, possibly because he thought SHE was the one to kill her so he was getting revenge OR possibly because he wanted her suffer from feeling crazy, like Charlotte suffered from all those years being stuck in Radley.

What if …Wren and Bethany are in love. Wren plays a role into the unfolding story as he has always been in love with Bethany. He has done everything to get close with the Hasting family in order to understand Bethany’s birth father, her twin sister, Spencer, and Melissa, the person who basically “killed her.” Archer and Wren are therefore, two brothers dating two sisters. Wren knew Cece/Charlotte because of his brother. But he also found out she was A.

What if… Alison names one of her baby girls Courtney in solidarity to the book and the other as Holly in solidarity to her second identity, Holly Varjack.

What if … Bethany shot Spencer on accident, possibly because Bethany was aiming at Jenna who tried shooting Spencer first. So instead, Bethany kidnaped Jenna and told her about “endgame.”

What if … AD gets mad at Aria for leaving the A team and Wren tries to shoot her but Ezra takes the bullet and Wren is arrested. (the quick scene in one of the promos of someone holding hands under the table with someone who is handcuffed is Wren and Bethany.)

What if … Mona is starting to look shady because she is becoming a new A. She desperately wants the girls to recognize her as part of the group and it’s fair to say that she is doing this to the point where she is trying to weed Aria out, possibly so she could take her place. Mona is addicted to the game. But the game has changed for her, it’s not being A anymore, rather the game is about beating the game that was stolen from her. She is going back to “Loser Mona” because “Loser Mona” was the addict.

What if … the liars think Mona is A.D. and she dies before the liars figure out she is not A.D. and for this, they are unable to save her.

What if … Bethany Young dies. A.D. dies by committing suicide, which is something Charlotte didn’t do in 6x10.

What if … the pretty little liars move out of Rosewood for good and we never know if they ever come back and BAM the credits roll and that is it. RIP PLL.

I also wanted to let you guys know that some of the ideas I credit to other theories and posts I have seen on Tumblr. The pll fandom is truly remarkable and I am so happy to be involved with this community. I am going to miss it so dearly. much love and enjoy. Also! Happy PLL day xox

B is for BAD

Do you remember back in 1x16 when Toby brings Spencer a paper from Jenna’s bedroom, and the paper was thought to have read the word ‘BAD’? Spencer discovers in the next episode that she was reading it wrong all along, the message wasn’t full of letters but of numbers. The numbers 214.

The numbers 214 are significant enough to have appeared over and over in our story in PLL so they have to mean something, right? Surely 214 wasn’t just a motel room, an area code, or a locker number… it is some kind of code between the -A’s.

Could B actually be for bad? For Bethany? The word “BAD” can also be separated into the initials B.A.D.

A.D.? (am I seeing things again….)

Did we finally get something real handed to us?

Bethany Young is A.D.

Bethany is really the only character that needs to tell the story. And that’s why they’re going to bring her back from the dead and end the show in full circle. The
“dead” girl from the pilot is the endgame of the show.

From Ashley and Tyler’s response it seems like it’s a character we know but we don’t know their full story.

Huw Collins at one of the cons said this about the finale

“With PLL dead is sometimes not dead”

These responses make me believe that AD is someone who is thought to be dead and that’s why it’s ‘impossible’ to figure it out

Season 6B introduced us to the masks. AD wears masks wherever they go. Clearly this person doesn’t want their face shown either because their face is disfigured, they are a twin, or they are supposed to be dead.

Credit to @thebestplltheories for this catch

A.D has a big box in their lair labeled “letters from A.D” Alison and Bethany were sending letters to each other.

Although we only ever saw letters from Bethany to Alison, and never from Alison to Bethany, “did I thank you for the clothes in my last letter?” implies this indeed was a two-way conversation through the letters.

With the masks. This person uses mask for a good reason. I think their face is disfigured and has to wears this masks. When Mona was A, she wasn’t using masks. Charlotte most of the time wasn’t using masks only Alison masks when she was plotting something and didn’t want no one to find out. This person uses masks in the endings and everywhere they go.

The only person who would need masks is Bethany to cover her face.

Bethany is somehow connected to every major storyline on the show. “The night Alison disappeared” “Radley (Marion Cavanaugh’s death), she knew Charlotte and Jessica DiLaurentis, etc.

We learned about the Arcturus comic book that Lucas and Charlotte (when she was Charles) worked when they were kids. It’s something that was kept a secret and that no one knew about. This book clearly tells the adventures and life Charlotte had as a kid in Radley. There’s only another person who could’ve know about the comic book and that’s Bethany. Bethany had known Charlotte since they were kids. And were in Radley together.

She’s basically continuing the story…

Notice that AD is good at drawing

Have we seen Bethany before? Yes! Even in previous seasons. As Red Coat and The Black Widow.

I’ve theorized about these two characters multiple times. And I’m 100% sure Bethany is both of them. Melissa, the most obvious candidate as Black Widow makes sense but there’s one thing. It’s clear that whoever is Black Widow didn’t want to be seen at Wilden’s funeral. That wasn’t Sara Harvey and I can explain later. Black Widow was wearing a mask and had it’s own lair with dolls.

Melissa could’ve easily gone to the funeral without the costume. Why wear one in the first place?

As Marlene said back in 2013. The Lady in Black is PLL endgame. And in 2014 she said that Black Widow is part of the Uber A endgame plan.

The evidence that Bethany is Black Widow is the text that Toby received in 4x01 (same episode we are introduced to BW) to take the lair and he would know information about his mom. Bethany knew his mom and witnessed her death. I still think Charlotte lied and she was the one who killed her and Bethany witnessed it. Hence her drawing of the woman falling from the roof.

At the end we see BW in the lair. There’s literally no one else who could’ve sent this text. I hope Marlene remembers this

Mary’s role in all of this is that she’s on both sides. She’s working with AD and siding with the liars (mainly to protect Spencer) and she will sacrifice herself to save her in the finale (that’s my prediction)

Now Red Coat. It’s already canon that Black Widow and Red Coat are the same person just under a different disguise. We learned that someone was visiting Mona in Radley and helping her get out. That wasn’t Charlotte because like she said she needed Mona’s help to get out. Bethany as Red Coat with Wren’s visitor’s pass was letting her out.

This wasn’t a twin theory but if I had to choose a twin it would definitely be Spencer’s twin. Bethany being disfigured and wearing Spencer’s mask to cover her face and whoever is in the grave was killed and buried there

This is my theory on who’s in the grave

There had to be a 3rd girl. And I don’t mean Sara Harvey. I mean someone else who was sent there to take the fall. This is going to sound like a stretch but what if Alison was planning to fake her death and asked CeCe for help. There were clues that she planned to fake her death like her blackmailing Byron for money.   CeCe lured someone from UPenn there to kill her giving her a yellow outfit and an Alison bracelet to help Alison fake her death but all went wrong.

Now, CeCe wouldn’t mention this because her ass would’ve gone to prison for attempted murder

Remember when Emily had hypnosis with Dr. Sullivan? She remembered herself with a shovel swinging it at someone who looked like Alison.

It’s possible that Emily was the one who hit her. Or it was Mona. Mona after all hit someone. And that’s why Red Coat (Bethany) sent Emily to the cemetery and Mona dug the grave. Bethany witnessed everything.

The girl in the Red Coat wasn’t CeCe because CeCe said that she started seeing a girl with a red coat watching the girls. She admitted that in 6x10 but the cemetery scene happened in 3x01 but we see a flashback in 3x18. The timing eliminates CeCe as the girl in the Red Coat

The number that has appeared throughout the show is 214 = BAD = BethanyAD

PLL THEORY: Katherine Daly is Bethany Young

Ever since Emma Dumont was announced back in August 2016 to play a character named Katherine Daly, the PLL fandom blew up with theories believing she was going to play a younger Mary and that the name “Katherine Daly” was a lie to cover it up. As we now know, her character IS called Katherine. It wouldn’t make sense anyway to make a fake name to hide the fact she’d play a “younger Mary”.

Everyone started to believe she could be playing a younger Mary when Emma Dumont posted this picture on Instagram with the caption, “Asylum chick vibes.

First of all, she is wearing the RADLEY gown patients always wore, as well as slippers. Her hair is BLONDE and she resembles (well, to me) Bethany from 6x10 (”Game Over, Charles”).

When we first see Katherine in 7x11 (”Playtime”), she greets Hanna after Mona got in contact with her so she could see Hanna’s clothing designs (Katherine is a fashionista of some sort). Where do they first meet? THE RADLEY.

Bethany, obviously, was in Radley as we all know. Katherine Daly has a creepy vibe to me. She greets Hanna and mentions that she is the daughter of Senator Daly, and is running a fundraiser for her dad. I believe Katherine had a disturbing past and was, indeed, Bethany Young in Radley. Perhaps this was an alias so no one would discover she was the senator’s daughter, or maybe Bethany is her real name.

Katherine notes how she likes designs, and we all know how much Bethany loved to draw…

Most characters that are related with “A” (Bethany knew Charlotte/Charles) or are “A” are fashionistas. Mona and Charlotte were, and we first met Charlotte when she mentioned she was a stylist in a boutique. We knew from the very beginning Mona was into fashion after she stopped being “Loser Mona”.

I am assuming that Katherine is from New York because Hanna said she voted for her dad whilst in New York. Why would she come all the way to Rosewood just to look at some clothing designs? Perhaps she’s always been here and is working with A.D. Maybe Bethany/Katherine moved to New York after being in Radley.

As for the night Bethany died, I’ve always believed that no one actually died that night. We all know how Charlotte had access to medical cadavers, as mentioned by Marlene in an interview when she revealed a cadaver was in the barrel from S5. Maybe Charlotte put a cadaver in the grave and put Katherine’s/Bethany’s DNA on it so it’d be identified as her, along with a blonde wig and yellow blouse. Maybe there is a reason to why she did this. If not, maybe she really was hit by Mona and buried alive by Melissa, but she was pulled out. She wants revenge on them all for what happened as she’s mentally insane! Don’t forget, Bethany supposedly killed Toby’s mother Marion.

How could I forget Allison and Catherine from The Pierces and in the Secret music video (PLL’s theme song)? Even though Allison was the brunette and Catherine was the blonde (the lead singers from The Pierces), and they’re spelt differently from Alison and Katherine in the show, maybe they’re bringing this to PLL itself. Catherine killed Allison in the music video for exposing her secret! Could we see Alison vs Katherine in PLL?

There isn’t much else to go by, but I will definitely keep my eye on Katherine as her next appearance will be in 7x13 (”Hold Your Piece”).

Thanks for reading!
