Notes: Lacrosse Week Special for my favorite bby, Stiles. I can’t believe I just wrote this. I never intended for it to actually turn into that but I got to the point I wanted to, and kinda couldn’t stop from there.
Summary: After the Avenger’s falling out, you were put in charge of putting Bucky together. Under King T’Challa’s orders, you were given a month’s time to create a new arm while simultaneously figure out how to get the triggering memories of his past out of his mind. As the time goes by, you found yourself confiding in him, despite his frozen state.
A/N: I know I’ve been the worst in updating but I finally broke free from the massive block that had me frustrated for weeks, it’s not my best but I’m trying to get my groove back on so please feedbacks are greatly appreciated!
Dear fans, as the season comes to a close, we need to give some special shout-outs to the MANY people who have helped make this project a success!
First and foremost, we’re indebted to @encantadaa, who came up with the idea and got this project off the ground. Without her initiative, none of this would have happened.
Second, and equally importantly, we need to thank ALL of our fantastic authors for contributing their amazing talents. Without them, we obviously wouldn’t be here. Many of our authors had never written case-fic before, and the experience of writing a story within a defined structure, on a deadline, was new to almost all of us. Yet, each of our authors rose to the challenge in outstanding fashion!
A special mention goes to our two authors with the highest numbers of episode credits to their names: @bunysliper and @whatifellinlovewith. Each of these lovely ladies wrote two episodes individually, and co-wrote one or two others.
We also need to thank @thebazilelord and @rickcastlefromthailand, who kindly agreed to join our writing team in mid-season when an unexpected gap appeared in our schedule. These two wonderful ladies turned out a dramatic, high-stakes episode on short notice!
Outside of the writing realm, we have to express our thanks to a few more people.
You may have noticed “Team Planet” credited at the end of each episode. This is our planning committee, the folks who volunteered to make important decisions about logistics and plotting on behalf of the entire group. Team Planet put a lot of work into making this season successful, and we owe them a big thanks! The members of Team Planet are @ivyandtwines, @takeiteasykate, @inkstainedcoffeecup, and @nic6879, as well as Season 9 creator @encantadaa and showrunner @acertainzest.
@nic6879 took all of our story ideas and assembled the overall season timeline, including character arcs, plots and subplots, episode airing schedule, and writer assignments; and she created and maintained a huge spreadsheet to track all of that.
@inkstainedcoffeecup did a detailed analysis of canon season and episode structures, and wrote up a guide for how to construct the plot of a case-fic, which was enormously helpful to those of us who had never done such a thing before.
@seriestherapy and @caskett-copop83 volunteered to coordinate the translation teams. Work on the translations will continue even after the season is done, and we’re very grateful to them, as well as all of the volunteer translators!
Last, but definitely not least, we’re giving a big shout-out to you, our readers! Your enthusiasm for this project has been amazing and we so appreciate all of you for coming along on this adventure with us. Thank you so much for your support. We hope you’ll enjoy the season finale.
“Yuuri, how are you so good at this?” Victor asked, staring in wonder at the bright expanse of his flat screen TV.
Yuuri’s tongue poked out of the corner of his mouth, just shy of the foam-tipped mic of his headset. His thumbnails dug into the joysticks of his Elite controller, leaving little crescent marks in the rubber—a terrible habit that he’d never been quite able to break, but the pressure was on, and everyone on the opposing team was gunning for him.
“Vitya, my kill count is only like, eleven people.” Yuuri’s eyes flickered to the top right corner of the screen, and—
—no scope headshot.
“Katsudon, you cheating four-eyed bastard!” Yurio snarled into Yuuri’s ear.
“That’s what you get for using a hand cannon as your primary,” Yuuri replied with a smug smirk. “Can’t get close enough to Firefly me now, can you?”
“Have you even dropped your Special Ammo?”
“Kind of hard to lose it if I haven’t died yet, isn’t it?”
“I fuckin’ hate Iron Banner. After this match I’m joining your fireteam.”
“He’s just mad because he’s losing,” Victor said as he scooted across the couch to cuddle up against Yuuri’s side with a smug, proud smirk. “My Yuuri’s so talented.”
“Victor said—” Yuuri started, and caught a glimpse of a bright blue helmet. He took aim.
“I heard—what—he said—fuck!!”
Yuuri grinned to himself as the achievement Strength Of The Wolf popped up on their screen. Alpha team was absolutely crushing Beta team, and Yuuri wasn’t the only one responsible for the ten kill streak without a single allied death. “We have to get you a better scout rifle. We should run the raid later.”
“Does Victor know how long a raid takes?”
Yuuri shot a sidelong glance to his fiancé, who was enraptured by the PVP match. “Um, no. But if we find a good group on the LFG subreddit I don’t think it would be a problem.”
“Whatever, whatever.” Yurio went suspiciously silent.
Yuuri sat up, instantly alarmed—his eyes scanned the screen for enemy players, and then—
His health bar flashed as he was taken down to half by a well-placed hand cannon round, but Yuuri was prepared. He smashed the left and right bumpers and a bolt of lightning struck the ground below his Warlock. He unleashed his Stormcaller super to the tune of one, two, three Guardians—
