IMMUNITYILOL'S guide to "What season of Survivor should I watch first?"
[updated as of Season 29]
Hello! Please take note that the best way to watch survivor (to avoid spoilers from other seasons) is to watch it chronologically. But it’s really no big deal if you start with the recent ones or at the middle. Just keep in mind that sometimes, players talk about previous players/winners that can spoil a previous season. Although, remember that a season is not just about who won it, there’s more to it than the winner. A good combination of tribal councils, cast, challenges, confessionals, and more, make up a lovely survivor season.
So here’s a list of seasons with all-newbies that I recommend:
-Brains Brawn Beauty (Season 28) [wildly beloved with a really really good cast]
-China (Season 15) [very interesting location with really good cast]
-Pearl Islands (Season 7) [a really good classic season]
-San Juan Del Sur (Season 29) [loved-ones season, it’s basically like a normal season but with pairs of people who know each other, better to watch this after about a couple of normal seasons]
-Nicaragua (Season 21) [Old vs Young twist, I liked this season but it had mixed reactions because it followed Heroes vs Villains]
-Gabon (Season 17) [the best location for me and i like the cast too]
-Panama (Season 12) [combination of good, interesting and polarizing players]
-Cook Islands (Season 13) [Race twist, controversial, very nice location]
Here’s a list of other seasons with no returning players:
Pearl Islands! It’s my very favorite season, it’s probably one of your favorite seasons, and that’s because it’s one of the best damn seasons of Survivor of all time. From the very first confessional, you knew you were in for a treat. The characters on this season are just phenomenal and it is such a fun and funny season. While the Outcast twist is unfair, it works here and only here because of the well-executed pirate theme. Oh, not to mention Rupert and his roar, and Fairplay and his grandma, and the queen of Survivor herself, Sandra Diaz-Twine. There are so many amazing moments that you should probably just rewatch it. I could write about Pearl Islands for way too long, but that’s because it’s just the goddamn best.
Survivor - Season 32, Kaôh Rōng The Final Member of the Jury: Cydney Gillon
ughghgghgh Cydney was my girl this season. First off, you cannot argue with her body because holy shit. Have you seen her bodybuilding pictures? Oh my god. Anyway. Secondly, she was such an amazingly wonderful surprise after her uh interesting pregame bio. Cydney’s personality and gameplay were just incredible. She sat back when she needed to, was always observant, and gave such good confessional. So so good. It was a bummer to see her go out in a fire-making tiebreaker, but that may have been for the best because she probably would have done poorly with this season’s jury (even if she was arguably one of the best players all season).
Michele literally has played the best social game this season she has never been a target, she has had both sides telling her the plan every week (besides the Scot blindside), she flipped TWICE to vote off her closest allies (nick and Julia) because she knew that they were useless to her at that point, she’s proven to be a physical threat, and she is the only reason that Cydney and Aubry are still here because without her they woulda left after Neil pretty fast. Michele also has proven she has good reads on people and knows when to flip and when not to. She managed to go into jury with the trust of every single person and that’s not an easy thing to do. She is playing by far the best social game this season and WILL win
i don’t have a #1 favorite season, but philippines is definitely near the top of my list. it came after 4 dull worst seasons of survivor and had one of the best comeback stories of all time. plus it had a great cast with malcolm freberg and jonathan penner.
