best mom in the world award

Headcanon: Farley and Clara go to see Wonder Woman
  • Farley gladly takes Clara with her to see the Wonder Woman movie.
  • She dresses her daughter up in a cute Wonder Woman costume and takes pictures of her and proudly posts them on her Instagram.
  • At a young age, Clara has learned a lot about Wonder Woman and the Amazons and how awesome and great women are in general, because her mom constantly educates her about the history and importance of women and their greatest hits.
  • Therefore, the two of them are really excited to see the film. Farley is particularly proud because it is directed by a woman director whose previous (and only prior) movie earned The Academy Awards for Best Actress.
  • They thoroughly enjoy the film, and at some point, Clara even notices her mom tearing up.
  • Clara feels a sense of pride as she realizes that her mom and Wonder Woman are alike in more ways than one. First and foremost, they have the same first name. Also, both Dianas have wonder, power, and courage within their souls.
  • “I am Diana of the Lakelands, daughter of the Farleys, and your Silver domination upon this world is over,” Clara mimics in her best Wonder Woman voice.

anonymous asked:

Hi! I really like your stories❤️ can you please do an imagine where y/n is also a celebrity and they meet on the red carpet with harry styles and then you know he really likes her at first sight and all that cheeky stuff😂 I would be really grateful. Thanks x

MTV Video Music Awards (Harry Styles Imagine)

Summary: Y/N is a celebrity at the MTV Video Music Awards on the red carpet. While on the red carpet, she meets a flirty Harry Styles who smitten with her at first sight.

Requested: yes

Warnings: no

A/N: Thank you to the anon who requested this! I hope you enjoy it! Requests are open! Thank you for all the support you’ve been giving me!

“Y/N, how does it feel to be nominated for five awards? Let me list them off you if you don’t already know: best female video, best collaboration, best pop video, best cinematography, and brand new artist!” Chelsea from Clever News asks excitingly.

“It feels absolutely incredible! I don’t even know what to think. It’s just crazy that a few years ago I was sitting at home with my mom watching the VMAs, and now I’m here, and I’m nominated for awards! It’s just incredible!” Y/N says.

“Do you have anything to say to your dedicated fans?” Chelsea asks.

Y/N looks into the camera and says “Thank you guys so much for everything! From buying my album, requesting my songs on the radio, and just being the best fans in the world! I love and appreciate every single one of you, never, ever forget that! You all mean the world to me!”

“You are so adorable, Y/N. Good luck tonight!” Chelsea says as she hugs Y/N.

“Thank you so much! Love you Chelsea!” Y/N says as she hugs Chelsea goodbye.

As Y/N is walking off the platform to walk inside since she’s done with her interviews, One Direction is walking up. Harry Styles reaches out his hand to help Y/N walk down the platform safely because of her long dress and high heels.

Thank you” Y/N says as she takes his hand blushing.

“My pleasure, Y/N” Harry says as Y/N steps down from the platform carefully.

When they are at the same height Harry says “Congratulations on your incredible nominations and you look stunning tonight.”

Thank you! Congratulations on yours too! You will guys will probably win best pop video. And you don’t look too bad yourself tonight.” Y/N says looking down at the ground shyly from the beautiful green eyes looking into hers.

“Harry! Stop flirting with Y/N get up here!” Liam jokingly yells.

Harry chuckles and walks past a blushing Y/N, but before stepping up, and whispering in Y/N’s ear, “When you win best pop video, make sure you give me a hug, love.”

Harry walks up to the interview platform, leaving Y/N blushing walking into the stadium.

~Inside Madison Square Garden~

“And the winner for best pop video is” the presenter creates suspension.

Y/N sits there with her leg jumping up and down, and picking at her nails.

“Y/N!” they announce.

The camera pans over to Y/N in just udder shock with her fans screaming around her as she walked up on stage. She hugs the presenter and takes the award as she walks up to the mic with shaking hands.

“I’d like to thank every person who voted for me. Everyone that watched the video, bought the song, my family, friends, and the fans who have been there every step of the way. This award wasn’t just won by me, but by us! This is our award! I love you guys so much, thank you!” Y/N says excitingly into the mic.

After looking out at the cheering crowd for split second to take the moment in, she exits the stage.

When Y/N enters backstage so she can take a picture with her award, she feels two arms wrap around her waist from behind her. As she looks back and up she sees the most beautiful green eyes looking into hers.

“I told you you’d win, beautiful.” He says

“But” he now whispers into Y/N’s ear “you never ended up giving me that hug” kissing right below her ear.

“I’m sorry” Y/N says “I was just so excited…”

Harry interrupts her by turning her around to face him and saying “It’s okay, love. You can make up to me tonight. Dinner, you and me, to celebrate the big win. What do you say?”

Y/N taps the side of her mouth like she’s pondering the idea, then breaks out into a smile,

“I’d love that”

Mom and Dad of Auradon Headcanons (Ben x Amaria)

Melina and Carlos start the entire thing by jokingly referring to Ben and Amaria as mom and dad when they kept checking in on everyone during exam week.
The name sticks and ends up becoming a running joke.
They go from the Royal Couple, to Mom and Dad.

When they start bringing more VKs over, older and younger, the younger ones don’t really understand that it’s a joke.
This means they start joining in since Ben and Amaria are really kind and everyone tells them that they act how parents should.

The older VKs (especially Uma and Harry) make fun of the nicknames, but low-key appreciate how caring the two are, especially once they realize they really do care.

Gil gets a kick out of it and finds it hilarious. He and Ben end up close friends but both Belle and Amaria will mother him.

The little vks (around 11 and under) will follow either Ben and/or Amaria around when they’re not in classes.
It’s adorable, they have all these little shadows and everyone is just so used to it.

Everyone goes to them for academic advice (though usually for anything math or science they’ll get directed to Evie and Doug, they’re better).
Amaria is the one they go to if they need advice on anything.
Ben is the shoulder to cry on.

They end up at any event, even the ones they’re not required to go to, just to support any of the students in it.

Ben totally has at least four Worlds Best Dad mugs, in four different styles.
Amaria has multiple Best Mom Award travel mugs.
They both love their mugs and constantly use them because honestly it’s adorable.

Most of the older students (whether VK or AK) won’t admit to calling them mom and dad, or slipping up and saying it.
The little kids proudly state that the Royal Couple is their parents.

They’ve accidentally adopted probably over five hundred children and neither Ben or Amaria have a problem with that.

Inspired by @isleofthelxst and I love this headcanon now💙💜💙💜

(Also it ended up so that it looks like he’s looking at her and I love it)

Miraculous Pokemon AU

I saw this post and realized that my fav video game and fav tv show didn’t have an AU yet.

That’s about to change :3 I’m so writing a fic on this later btw

Marinette is the daughter of the owners of the most well know PokePuff and Poffin bakery in the whole region. Her dream is to explore the world so that she can gain inspiration from Pokemon so that she can become a successful designer. She hopes to design for award winning Pokemon, such as those from Pokemon Contests and those that are from movies.

Adrien is the son of the CEO of Agreste Co., a new rival to the Silph Co. the biggest company in the game btw. His father often uses Adrien as the poster boy for the new gadgets the company makes. Adrien’s dream is to travel the world, make new discoveries, and maybe even become a Pokemon Professor. Of course his father is too protective to let him out into the world.

Alya is Marinette’s best friend and they met because Alya’s mom works at a restaurant that serves sweets made by Marinette’s parents to the patrons’ Pokemon. Alya dreams of being a journalist and maybe even getting her own show on the radio talk shows on radios with people like Professor Oak are big in the Pokemon world.

Nino met Adrien when Mr. Agreste had a meeting about advertisement at a popular night club and Adrien wandered off. Nino and Adrien started off with a pretty good friendship but when Mr. Agreste found out Adrien had wandered off he forbid the friendship, though that didn’t stop them. Nino dreams of becoming a DJ and play at night clubs like the one he met Adrien at.

Marinette and Adrien met when Marinette’s parents we asked to do the catering for the Pokemon at a business party that Agreste Co. was hosting. Adrien and Marinette had a small misunderstanding which led to her initiate dislike in him but by the end of the party he had gained her affection through his kindness.

Marinette got her first Pokemon when she went to a Berry Farm her parents were considering buying from. She saw some rustling in the bushes and found a Ledyba yes that’s a ladybug Pokemon. The Ledyba was stuck in the bush so Marinette helped her out. The Ledyba became so attached to Marinette after that that her parents went out and got her a PokeBall so she could catch her and officially have her first Pokemon.
She named her Tikki.

Adrien got his first Pokemon from his father. Mr. Agreste hoped that getting his son a Pokemon would give him enough company that Adrien would stop asking to be let out on a Pokemon adventure like other children his age. Mr. Agreste gave Adrien a Shinx yes that’s a cat Pokemon that had been a gift from an power company hoping to strike a deal with Agreste Co.
He named him Plagg.

this is getting long so the rest is under the cut

diva of dynasty

diahann carroll has done plenty during her six decade long acting/singing career.  so, for time and space sake, lets  just stick to the biggest and most memorable achievements.  diahann was the first black woman to receive a tony award for her performance in ‘no strings’ back in 1962.  she also received an academy award nomination for best actress in 'claudine.’  in 1968, diahann would again make history by portraying the title role of 'julia'on the small screen. this would be the first time a black woman had her own show and didn’t play a stereotypical or demeaning role.  diahann would continue that legacy in 1984 by portraying the glamorous diva, dominique deveraux (blake carrington’s half sister) on the nighttime soap dynasty.  and who could forget her role as marion gilbert (whitley’s snobby mom) playing foil to patti labelle’s character on the hit show 'a different world.’  diahann, although now in her late seventies, has shown very little sign of slowing down. quite recently, she has had roles on 'grey’s anatomy’ and the USA hit show 'white collar.’  she even penned a very successful autobiography.  black girl bravado applauds mrs. diahann carroll for paving the way for all the black girl thespians who now walk a less bumpy path.

Early Life

Hattie McDaniel was born on June 10, 1895, to a family of entertainers in Wichita, Kansas. She was her parents’ 13th child. Her father, Henry, was a Baptist minister who played the banjo and performed in minstrel shows. Her mother, Susan Holbert, was a gospel singer. In 1901, McDaniel and her family moved to Denver, Colorado.

McDaniel attended the 24th Street Elementary School in Denver, where she was one of only two black students in her class. Her natural flair for singing—in church, at school and in her home—was apparent early on, and gained her popularity among her classmates. Following her elementary schooling, McDaniel attended Denver East High School for two years.

Singing and Dancing

While still in high school, McDaniel started professionally singing, dancing and performing funny skits in minstrel shows. In 1910, she decided to leave school in order to train with her father’s minstrel troupe full time. In 1920, she became a member of Professor George Morrison’s orchestra, and toured with his and other vaudeville troops for the next five years. In 1925, she was invited to perform on Denver’s KOA radio station. The performance gave McDaniel the illustrious distinction of being the first African-American woman to sing on the radio in the United States.

Following her radio performance, McDaniel continued to work the vaudeville circuit for the next few years. When work was slow, she took a job as a restroom attendant to supplement her income. Much to her relief, in 1929, McDaniel landed a steady gig as a vocalist at Sam Pick’s Club in Milwaukee.

Acclaimed Actress

A year or so later, McDaniel’s brother, Sam, and sister, Etta, convinced her to move to Los Angeles, where they had managed to procure minor movie roles for themselves. Sam was also a regular on a KNX radio show, called The Optimistic Do-Nuts. Not long after arriving in L.A., McDaniel had a chance to appear on her brother’s radio show. She was a quick hit with listeners, and was dubbed “Hi-Hat Hattie” for donning formal wear during her first KNX radio performance.

In 1931 McDaniel scored her first small film role as an extra in a Hollywood musical. In 193, she won a larger role as a housekeeper in The Golden West. McDaniel continued to land bit parts here and there, but, as roles for blacks were hard to come by at the time, she was once again forced to take odd jobs to make ends meet.

McDaniel landed her first major on-screen break in 1934, singing a duet with Will Rogers in John Ford’s Judge Priest. The following year, McDaniel was awarded the role of Mom Beck, starring opposite Shirley Temple and Lionel Barrymore in The Little Colonel. The part gained McDaniel the attention of Hollywood directors, and was followed by a steady stream of offers.

In 1939, McDaniel accepted a role that would mark the highlight of her entertainment career. As Mammy, Scarlett O'Hara’s house servant in Gone with the Wind, McDaniel earned the 1940 Academy Award for best supporting actress—becoming the first African American to win an Oscar. All of the film’s black actors, including McDaniel, were barred from attending the film’s premiere in 1939, aired at the Loew’s Grand Theatre on Peachtree Street in Atlanta, Georgia.

Later, during World War II, McDaniel helped entertain American troops and promoted the sale of war bonds.

Through the mid-1940s, McDaniel appeared in additional films, primarily playing roles that members of the post-war progressive black community were beginning to cite as offensively old-fashioned. Since playing Mom Beck in The Little Colonel, McDaniel had been attacked by the media for taking parts that perpetuated a negative stereotype of blacks; she was criticized for playing servants and slaves who were seemingly content to retain their role as such.

Walter White, then president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, pleaded with African-American actors to stop accepting such stereotypical roles, as he believed they degraded the black community. He also urged movie studios to start creating roles that portrayed blacks as capable of achieving far more than cooking and cleaning for white people.

In her defense, McDaniel responded by asserting her prerogative to accept whatever roles she chose. She also suggested that characters like Mammy proved themselves as more than just measuring up to their employers.

Later Life and Death

As the Civil Rights Movement progressed, the sort of roles for which McDaniel was typecast began to gradually disappear. As a result of her conflict with the NAACP, she was also no longer a popular choice for film roles. Movie offers eventually stopped coming altogether.

McDaniel reacted to the decline in her acting career by making a strategic return to radio in the late 1940s. In 1947, she took the starring role on CBS radio’s The Beulah Show. Although McDaniel was once again playing a maid, she managed—to the NAACP’s approval—to use her talents to break racial stereotypes rather than reinforce them.

In 1951, McDaniel started filming for a television version of The Beulah Show. Unexpectedly, she suffered a heart attack around the same time, but was able to resume filming after a short recovery period. When McDaniel was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1952, actress Louise Beavers stepped in to assume her role on the TV show.

Hattie McDaniel lost her battle with cancer in Los Angeles, California, on October 26, 1952. Since her death, McDaniel has been posthumously awarded two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Additionally, in 1975, she was inducted into the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame.

honestly. honestly. fuuma/seishiro friendship (for a given value of “friends”) is so incredibly important to me

they hate each others guts kind of?? seishiro only has like three quarters of a single emotion ever but at least two thirds of that three fourths is dedicated to fanciful daydreams of fuuma collapsing a steel beam only for it to fall on himself. whoops, oh, too bad. what a shame (seishiro probably is thinking). fuuma is the only other person besides like, hokuto sumeragi, who is a gift and a miracle in her own right, to ever correctly get a read on seishiro. he likes to push people to be their best by making them be their worst which is like pretty terrible or whatevs but that’s why he’s the end of the world incarnate.

what do these unimaginably powerful and terrifyingly competent men do? they have dinner dates. they talk shit about each other via passive-agressive one-upping like stereotypical suburban moms whose children are on opposite teams in the neighborhood intramural badminton league and can’t stand having their lemon squares being outdone at the league awards dinner. “let’s go out for crepes” one says. “oh but we must hurry” says the other, “for the world is ending after all, isn’t that inconvenient.” “haha, so true” says the first. disgusting, all of it. no one else is around to see this joke happen it is literally an eternal string of “I know you know that I know” etc etc.

and clamp understands this. they hate me, an innocent reader, but god do they understand me. what I wanted from this X interaction was this to continue sans the destruction of Tokyo. (which…. still happened in tsubasa. but. whatever.) now they’re brothers! yes! now they snark abt vampire twins and age differences because that’s how siblings are! hell, yes!

seishiro is for whatever reason shorter than fuuma??? I am dead on this floor right now, because seishiro got short and I bet a year of my life on fuuma never letting him live it down. he’s a vampire now hell never grow. this is Eternal and fuuma will enjoy it

AND NOW THEY GO FOR DRINKS ON THE BEACH LIKE SHITTY TOURISTS??? does seishiro fall asleep in the sun only to find himself abandoned and buried in sand. did fuuma find all his normal clothes replaced with tacky tourist tees and that is why he is dressed this way. what shenanigans have they caused. do they have a body count. did fuuma take pictures of seishiro carrying the arm because I goddamn well hope so

She currently spends most of her time at home, working on her new album and being the best darn mom on the upper west side. 20th Annual SAG Awards - 'Best Supporting Actor' Jared Leto + Mom

.. And last but not least, to my mother, who is here, the hottest date in town! I just wanna say thank you for giving me such a shining and wonderful example of the possibilities of life, for showing me the power of dreams and for being the best mother in the entire world. I love you.”

Rami Malek hacks into stardom with 'Mr. Robot'

LOS ANGELES | Rami Malek laughs when reporters call him a “breakout” star thanks to his work in “Mr. Robot.”

“I’ve been around,” the 35-year-old says. “I’ve been doing small roles in great movies for quite a while. This just happened…and it’s as good a time as any.”

A Golden Globe winner for Best Drama and a sure bet to make some noise at this year’s Emmy Awards, “Mr. Robot” tells the story of a computer programmer who works as a vigilante hacker by night, taking down the very company that employs him.

The series had several “Sixth Sense” surprises in its first season and is poised to offer more in its second, beginning in July.

“When I first saw the script, I thought it read very poetically and was profound,” Malek says. “Behind it was a unique voice that I hadn’t heard before. Instantly, I wanted to be a part of it.”

Because creator Sam Esmail hadn’t written the role with Malek in mind, the actor was sure it could have gone in a number of different directions. “I remember the first day sitting outside with a number of different-looking gentlemen, waiting to have my name called.”

He got in and was able to convince Esmail he possessed the right combination of fear, innocence and determination.

Malek’s expressive eyes, many say, were the key.

“On set, Sam doesn’t particularly like to go into close-up,” Malek says. “Even when we’re shooting, you’ve got to be prepared for anything because even when we’re in (a wide shot), that’s definitely something that may be used.”

“Mr. Robot,” the actor says, is very much Esmail’s vision. “I can add on layers,” but the writer/producer is charting the course.

The two worked well together during the first season, figuring out how to keep the drama’s secrets.

“It was daunting. I won’t lie,” Malek says. “There have been nights when I’ve come home and just struggled with what I thought I might be, because of this character.”

The whole hacker phenomenon, he adds, made him very aware – and cautious – of having an online presence. “You read about things that happen in society with hacks but once you get in there and do the show, you realize this is happening in one sense or another to all of us. We’re exposed.”

As an individual, he cautions, “there’s only so much you can do. Once you go online, you’re susceptible for anything.”

An innocent story Malek told about his mother before the Golden Globes (she said she was cheering for Jon Hamm in the Best Actor in a Drama category) gained a life of its own online.

Some fans got the idea she wasn’t supportive.

“I couldn’t have a more supportive, loving mother,” Malek says. “She has broken her back for me since Day One.”

In truth, he explains, mom was just trying to protect him. As much as she wanted her son to win, she wanted him to just be proud to be nominated and “respect everybody who’s sitting at the same table.”

Hamm did get the trophy, but Malek was able to show the world just how gracious he could be.

Co-star Christian Slater picked up the Best Supporting Actor award and was overwhelmed.

“He said he had been in the business for four decades,” Malek recalls. “That puts everything in perspective for me.”

Now, as the second season unfolds, the “Night at the Museum” star is curious where “Mr. Robot” will take him.

“People are surprised I’m not the same character I play on television.” Smart, talkative and respectful (mom was right), he never got a chance to see what fans were saying about the show while he was filming.

“I didn’t have time,” Malek says. “At the end of the day, I’d go home and barely get any sleep because I was working on the next day’s scenes. When I did get some time, I was happy people were latching onto it, writing about it and having some pretty special ideas about what was actually going on.

“When I saw some of their ideas, I asked Sam, ‘Would you ever have considered using that idea? It was so good.’ But he had ideas of his own.”

7 Times Beyoncé Publicly Confessed Her Love For Jay Z

When it comes to discussing her personal life, Beyoncé might be the queen of secrecy. Even her 2008 wedding to Jay Z was kept under wraps until the singer decided to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at their special day during their joint On the Run tour in 2014. Blue Ivy’s mom hasn’t always been so tight-lipped, though — every now and then, Beyoncé shows us her vulnerable side and lets the world know just how much she truly adores her husband. Keep reading for seven times Beyoncé was proudly Jay Z’s biggest fan.

1. When She Gave Him a Special Shout-Out After Winning an Award

After winning the Billboard Millenium Award in 2011, Beyoncé made sure to mention her husband in her acceptance speech.

“I’d also like to thank my best friend. I don’t wanna put you on the spot [because] I know they’re probably putting the camera in your face right now. But I love me some Jay Z!”

2.  When She Gave a Heartfelt Toast About How Much She Loves Him

In her 2013 HBO special, Beyoncé gave fans an exclusive look at her life beyond the lights. During one scene, she tears up while giving a birthday toast to Jay Z.

“You’ve taught me so many things. You taught me how to be a woman. You taught me how to love. You taught me how to be a friend. You’ve given me so much in life and this is not enough. It’s not enough I can give you. I just want you to be happy. And every year, I’m even more in love with you and I want to spend everyday of my life with you. Happy birthday and I thank God for you every day.”

3. When She Opened Up About Their Unbreakable Bond

In 2013, Beyoncé gave one of her now-rare interviews to Vogue, in which she opened up about how Jay Z helps her balance her chaotic celebrity lifestyle.

“Just knowing someone’s always going to be honest and tell the truth, [who] can understand exactly what I’m going through — and I can understand exactly what he’s going through.”

4.  When She Was Excited to See Him After Being on Tour

While touring the world in 2009 during her I Am … World Tour, Beyoncé started a countdown to when she would see her husband. When the day finally arrived, Beyoncé was so happy she came up with a little cheer to express her excitement.

“And I am on to see my husband. I’m happy. I’m happy. I’m happy!”

5.  When She Said She Needed to Make Love to Her Husband

In 2011, Beyoncé fired her father, Mathew Knowles, as her longtime manager. The stress of their strained relationship became too much for the superstar, and she candidly revealed that Jay Z was the best stress reliever.

“I need to listen to ‘Make Love to Me’ [known as '1+1’] and make love to my husband.”

6.  When She Told Barbara Walters She Was His “Groupie

"During a 2011 interview with the ladies at The View, former host Sherri Sheppard put the "Drunk in Love” singer on the spot when she asked Beyoncé if she became closer to Jay Z during her year off of extensive touring.

“I’ve always been a Jay Z groupie,” Beyoncé said with a laugh.

7.  When She Gushed About Him as a Dad

In 2013, Oprah asked Beyoncé about her marriage to Jay Z and got the notoriously private star to share.

“I would not be the woman I am if I did not go home to that man. It just gives me such a foundation. He has helped me on so many levels. We were friends first, for a year and a half, before we went on any date. On the phone for a year and a half. And that foundation is so important in a relationship. And just to have someone that you just like is so important. And someone that is honest.”
