U should do a blurb on how best friend Michael would hold you after a relapse... I'm having a rough couple weeks and it would help me a lot. I love you!
“Are you feeling okay?” Michael says, tentative and sweet. There’s something soft and warm in the way he;s touching her, the way his fingers rest lightly on her elbow.
“M’fine, Mike.” she says, her fingers trembling over the bagel she spread. He frowns the tiniest bit, grabbing her and spinning her round to face him and her eyes look tired. Tired and cold it seemed.
“Nope,” he says, leaning into her space, fingers reaching up to touch her face and his emerald eyes on hers, “We’re friends. Friends don’t lie.”
He loves her, in every way a person can love another and when she’s in pain, it runs through his veins and strikes him in the chest.
She’s his light, a guiding home and way to be home in a world that never offers homage anywhere.
“If you’re not doing okay, that’s okay,” he says, and barely whispers it. He knows she won’t believe him, but he hopes that if he breathes love into her he’d be the world around her. Let nothing hurt her ever.
“I had a bit of a slip up,” she says, barely above a whisper and he nods, and pulls her into his chest, rests his chin on her head then kisses it. He loves her, and he knows that she doesn’t. He knows she doesn’t look at her angel eyes and her heavenly smile and see the most beautiful girl in the world.
“I have some trouble loving m’self.”
He could write songs and sonnets to the way she smiled and the heart she never leaves behind. He could sing the world of songs to her and it would never begin to explain how desperately and completely gone he was for her.
“S’okay. I love you enough for both of us for now.”
