best ever fest ever

In the past, I’ve talked about Clone Club here and how I finally started watching the show here. But at this point, now that time has passed, it should be interesting to revisit since OBOrigins is a thing today.

It’s astounding to me the wonderful people I have met through Clone Club. Such kind and wonderful people that have made my life better. Friends I can cry or laugh with; friends that can help me learn and see new things I hadn’t understood or considered before, and friends that challenge me to become my best self. Thank you to the myriads of people I have met through Clone Club. You inspire me daily and I am forever grateful for all of you.

THIS IS THE BEST BLIND DATE EVER…. oh wait.

vimeo

Welcome 2013! It’s pretty sweet that the world didn’t end, considering that 35 Denton’s current lineup is accumulating bodacious artists the way that Daniel Day-Lewis does Oscars.

Had we all died, we would’ve ended up in purgatory for missing Chelsea Light Moving, the explosive new group led by Sonic Youth’s founding member Thurston Moore. If our first announcement didn’t melt your face off, then the unwieldy, raw, and deliberate force of Chelsea Light Moving will. With their first official U.S. tour kicking off in early March and their debut LP dropping shortly thereafter, make no mistake that a storm is a-comin’ to 35 Denton this spring.

Countering the lightning is the undeniable thunder of Killer Mike. This politically potent rapper shines through the grime of the streets to provide a fresh and unapologetic perspective on history and human nature.

And adding to the overwhelming magic of it all, the champions of the 60’s underground, galactic rockers Silver Apples; dreamy drone masters Emeralds; traditionalist hardcore punks from Vancouver, White Lung; NYC’s ultimate cult party Soul Clap Dance Off led by DJ Jonathan Toubin; and, the summer-soaked electronic duo Poolside of L.A. Additional confirms include Antwon, The Coathangers, Shannon and the Clams, Delicate Steve, Idiot Glee, Fossil Collective, Buxton, Audacity, Gary War, You Won’t, Hey Marseilles, The Last Bison, Destruction Unit, Roomrunner, Mind Spiders, and How I Quit Crack.
