I read “Not Quite Like the Gavotte” on AO3 by facepalmConquistador and I loved it. I felt the need to look in to the song mentioned and when I found this one, I instantly felt in the scene. I’m not sure which one she had in mind but this version is absolutely lovely and I feel it fits the pace of the scene. It’s amazing.
So, for you Good Omens and ineffable husband feels, have A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square.
Prompt: I would love to read anything with 40s!Bucky just generally being a sweetheart/cuddly. I think 22, 73, 81, 90 and 94 are the best ones of those bunch for the time period. (Especially since “short skirts” were just barely above the knee, haha.)
22. ‘Come over here and make me.’ 73. ‘The skirt is supposed to be short.’ 81. ‘I may be an idiot, but I’m your idiot.’ 90. ‘Who gave you the black eye?’ 94. ‘It must be hard with your sense of direction. Never being able to find your way to a decent pick-up line.’
A/N: THIS WAS SO CUTE TO WRITE. MY GOD. 1940s!Bucky can play piano for me ANYTIME. Anyway. Thank you to @1940sbarnesgirl for the adorable prompts!
