beorn's hall

Beorn’s Hall by J.R.R. Tolkien

The path forked towards its end, going around the back to the Veranda. A courtyard opened up at the front of the house, with two doors on either side leading to the other wings. Once inside there were many pillars on either side of the hall, and their was a long table close to the front door, in the middle with benches on either side, and beyond it, in the centre of the room was a wide hearth. Along both sides of the walls, were raised platforms where the tables were stored and extra beds.

We have departed from Beorn’s halls. He has allowed us to use his ponies to travel to Mirkwood. We have been given packs full of supplies and food and Beorn has said that we are welcome to return whenever we so wish. We thanked him sincerely and bid him farewell.

Before we left, Mr Baggins approached me on his pony, holding a flower. He gestured that I lean towards him and when I did, he slipped the flower behind my ear. I believe that his face was redder than my own.
