benefits of running

couple a thoughts about lup.

greg grimauldis. its been seventeen years and she still remembers greg fucking grimauldis. in the moment, she was trying to joke around a bit to lighten the mood, yeah, because she cant stand that much tension for that long - but its more than that, this guy who owes her money is one of the strongest connections she still has to her home. its the last public stunt she pulled before they left, theyve probably been joking about it for years. its something small, something not at all dramatic, something very much personal and - for lack of a better term - human. in a life where she and her found family are constantly hopping between worlds, its one of the few mundanities she has left to cling to.

and then theres the scene with troth and the crystal. taako was fine with murdering robots for parts, he was fine with destroying a whole world if it meant long-run benefits. he focuses on optimal outcome regardless of ethics. shes the opposite, the moral compass of the pair. she refuses to budge an inch on creating a precedent for carelessness. it felt almost like issues like this rarely surface between them - the biggest differences between them are that taako is the caution, and lup is the morality.

and this brings me to a new theory: lup is reckless, combative, loud, expressive, enthusiastic, and tries her best to do good and be good. those qualities are a pretty accurate desciption of someone else in the group, too. and i dont think its a coincidence that after they all got split up and voidfished, taako latched onto magnus so quickly: he filled the void taako could no longer name.

Gain more knowledge. Grow your mental ability. Read, read, read. Don’t just watch TV and movies. Virtually all highly successful people do some form of daily educational reading. Regardless of what they read, they make sure it contains useful and meaningful information from which they can benefit from in the long run. Statistics show that the average person reads less than 1 book per year. If you could read 1 book per week, that would mean about 52 books per year. Now imagine what an advantage that will give you over everyone else.

|4 september 2017|

it’s finally back to school time for most of us and, at least for me, it’s also time to start good habits, crack down on the bad ones, and just begin to prepare for the year ahead. i’ve been in school for a couple of weeks now and, so far, i’m doing pretty good. below, i’ve compiled some simple tips that help me in day to day life that i would love to share. so let’s get cracking:

  1. prepare outfits and pack your backpack on sunday instead of in the morning. i know for a fact you have more time on sunday to prepare your outfits and pack your backpack than on monday morning so planning in advance will most definitely benefit you. instead of running around in circles trying to find that shirt, hang them up in the front of your closet or place them in the top of a drawer on sunday. and instead of throwing random pens in a bag, pack your backpack and put it in front of your door. it’ll save you time to do other things such as eating and washing your face.
  2. prepare and eat a breakfast. whether it’s some cherrios in a bag on the way to class or eggs and bacon cooked that morning, eating will definitely benefit you. you’ll have more focus in class and it’ll get your metabolism going. if it’s easier for you, think about preparing your food the night before and packing it in bags or tupperware.
  3. have a tray by the door to put small things in. oh, how many times have i forgotten my earbuds or keys. keep yourself organized and not calling your roommate to get an extra set of keys by just having a tray on which you can put smaller things you don’t put in your backpack. then, just grab them before you leave and voilà! you aren’t locked out.
  4. on sunday, do your meal preps, weekly spread, and clean your room and workspace. i am such a procrastinator during the weekends and there have been so many days that because of that, i am trudging through knee high messes in my room because i just won’t pick up. i also commonly forget to plan the week and prep my meals and then boom, it’s monday and i’m a mess. so don’t be a mess like me, do it all on sunday.
  5. have a letter tray to put class handouts and old assessments so you can put them in binders later. using a letter tray to collect handouts and assessments can be so beneficial to keeping your desk clean. and without it, i tend to throw out old graded assessments i could study instead of putting them in binders. keeping all those papers in one binder is super helpful, so put them in a binder and finals won’t be your doom.
  6. have a bedtime routine. having a bedtime routine can increase your productivity and sleep time because, one, it can help you stay organized and, two, it helps put you to sleep. the more your brain associates doing certain tasks with sleep, the faster you’ll be able to drift off. so be smart and enjoy an extra hour of sleep.
  7. have one journal for in class notes and one to retake and organize your notes at home. in class you do not have time to keep your thoughts organized. with tangents from your teachers and questionable notes, its best to just use a pencil, pen, and highlighter to make scratch notes in class and then come home and organize it into something that you can study from. this idea has kept me afloat time and time again.
  8. talk to your teachers. do yourself a favor, ask and answer questions in class and go to your teachers’ office hours if they have them. if you do this, your teachers are more likely to recognize you and will be more lenient with your grade (since it shows you’re engaged and involved). you don’t necessarily need to like the teacher, just pretend you care. smile and nod along as you ask about their lives, questions about the content, and for advice that you are never going to take. this is a pretty slytherin thing i’ve been doing for years and it has got me so many half points back, especially in math and science.
  9. use quizzes and tests to study for finals. as i stated earlier, it’s important to save your assessments to study, and that is especially true during finals. teachers commonly use similar questions on the final as unit tests and quizzes. think of how many more points you can score on that final if you just study your tests.
  10. make a study group. find friends and people in your classes that you would like to study with and meet up! they’ll definitely be able to help you understand topics and it’ll be more fun than holing yourself up in your room. also, explaining concepts to others will help you better understand them and answer those questions on your tests.
  11. make a weekly to-do list. some of you may already do this in your weekly spreads, but it’s important to make to-do lists of goals and tasks you need to complete. this isn’t necessarily studying and notes but things such as cleaning your room, watering your plants, or going grocery shopping. make lists, organize yourself, don’t be a mess like me.
  12. reward yourself for doing well. whether it’s talking to your teacher or scoring straight a’s, we all work hard. so why not treat yourself to a nice dinner or relaxing bath? have fun, relax, and don’t let yourself get too stressed. remember to unwind.
  13. sit up front in class. i know, i know, you don’t really want to, but think about it. if you’re up front, you are going to be 100% more engaged and paying more attention. and this will make your teacher remember you, which you now know the benefits of. you will also be able to see the board easier, get your questions answered, and hear what is going on.
  14. talk to the people around you in your classes. jeremy from physics sneezes on you and suddenly, you’ve got the flu and can’t make it to your lit lecture. what are you going to do? text that new friend you made from lit that sits next to in the lecture hall of course. simply talking to people on your first day can help you stay on top of class in case you miss or can help you study before the test. never doubt the benefits of knowing people.
  15. if there’s an opportunity for extra credit, take it. i don’t care how good you are in that class or how perfect your grades are, take the extra credit. those few extra points could be the ones that take you from a b to an a. just do it and don’t question it, you may need them.
  16. outline all papers and presentations. you have a draft due for your class in a few hours and you open you computer and prepare to type. but where to begin? what are you writing? how do you want to phrase it? well, you could already know that if you had outlined it. take the time to research, write a thesis, and fully understand your prompt before you write. especially if this is a persuasive essay. do this as well for presentations and visual assignments so you say every fact and point you want to.
  17. keep your test dates by you at all times. no matter who you are, you need to know when tests are coming up. and, as someone who tends to leave things at home sometimes, i may not have my planner with those tests dates next to me when i need them. but what do i have? my phone. i use the app My Study Life to keep track of those dates. i explain that beautiful app in this post.
  18. have a ‘school survival kit.’ by now i think you’ve caught on to the fact i can be a bit forgetful. so i like to have a little bag with me that has things i may need that i could have forgotten. this includes a pen, pencil, highlighter, a few pads, some mints, pain medicine, allergy medicine, tissues, band-aids, hand sanitizer, tide-to-go (stain remover), and other such items. i may make a list of these items at another time.
  19. if you have a question, ask. i’ve already gone over the benefits of talking in class but it’s also extremely important to understand your content. it’s better to ask than not know, even if you think the question is dumb. there’s a good chance someone else has that exact question. it’s also better to look stupid than have that count against you during assessments.
  20. if your university, college, or high school has a writing center, use it. i work in a writing center and we are here to help. we do nothing so much of the time and you coming in makes our day. contrary to the popular opinion, we aren’t going to judge your writing or insult you (unless you ask for it). but we also aren’t going to correct your entire paper, we want to help you learn how to edit your papers and make sure you’re fitting the requirements. and this goes for all tutoring centers; if they’re an option, use them.

this a post (complete with links, pictures and other tips) dedicated to all of you struggling through what seems to be a hell they call high school. i get it. i struggled through it, all my friends endured it and you’re probably in the same boat of wanting to throw yourself down each flight of stairs that presents itself. but please don’t do that! i’m here to help, friend!! this is a comprehensive list of all the things i learned from my time in high school. i hope this helps at least one person out there! as always, if you guys have any questions, my ask box is open :)

before we get into it: this is a link to my study routine because some people have been asking for it and don’t have a section in this post to put it under so i’m just going to leave it here.

self-care advice:

okay so, i’m going to be completely upfront with you. high school is hard. it’s especially hard if you want to do well. i can honestly say that senior year took its toll in more ways than one when i didn’t take care of myself or pay attention to my body’s needs. so here are some self-care tips to keep you happy & healthy.

1. eat a lot & stay hydrated

when you’re trying to finish a 2000 word essay, or pretty much all but shoving toothpicks in your eyes to stay up studying for an exam the next day, food is your best friend. food helps your brain work better and you’ll find that your concentration levels increase when you study on a filled stomach. there are lots of brain foods out there like dark chocolate, nuts, vegetable sticks etc. but don’t forget to reward yourself with a food of your choice after you feel like you’ve done a lot of work. couple all of this with lots of water to keep you feeling refreshed.

2. pamper yourself

i am completely aware of the fact that high school students don’t have the time to go to a spa or sauna every other weekend. however, you deserve a nice long bath or a good face scrub every now and then. other things you can indulge in:

  • sheet masks
  • body lotion (especially the nice smelling ones)
  • scented candles
  • hand cream
  • nail polish
  • eye masks
  • a good facial cleanser
  • serums
  • bath bombs

and the list goes on. trust me, being physically relaxed plays a big part in how your brain performs. if you feel a bit gross, take a shower before you start studying. it’s little things like that that’ll make a massive difference.

3. sleep

everyone says it, i know. but it’s so important. if you don’t get sleep the night before because you were cramming for tomorrow morning’s exam, go home and take a nap in the afternoon. get some shuteye in one form or another. pls.

4. believe in yourself

it sounds so weird, and it’s usually not included in posts like these but in my opinion it’s one of, if not the most, important factor in high school success. think about it. if you’re spending those years of your life doubting whether your answer is correct, whether your science report is as good as the next person’s or whether your friends truly like you, you’re using up a lot of energy that could be used for things that’ll actually benefit you in the long run. that’s why my blog is titled “breathe” - because that’s exactly what you have to do, and sometimes that’s the only thing you can do in order to keep going. chin up. you’re going to be okay. you’re doing great. i believe in you. and you should believe in you too.

organisational tips:

1. plan everything

i’m telling you now, get some kind of planning system. whether you want to use a bullet journal, a planner, a diary, an app, a computer program or your grandma’s paper napkins, seriously just pick something. when you have seven different classes and you have assessment for each, i highly doubt you’re going to remember every task that goes along with them. so, just take my word for it and plan plan plan.

here’s a link to how i used my planner back in high school.

i also recommend a whiteboard monthly calendar so you can keep track of all of the important dates you need to remember.

2. post-its

i love love love post-its. i honestly can’t stop myself from buying them - especially the cute animal ones. post-its saved my butt when keeping my books organised and easy to navigate. you can use them to separate different semesters, chapters, lectures, topics etc. i also use post-its to mark any questions, sections or subjects that i’m unsure of so that i can ask my teacher about it the next day. i then write down the answer or explanation on a separate sticky note and stick it next to the question so i can refer back to it when studying for exams.

+ look at all the different kinds of cute post-its you can get!

so you can obviously get all your standard, basic post-its.

buuutttttttt, you can also get all of these fun ones too! they make studying a lot easier and a lot more fun, trust me.

3. figure out a system that works for you

so in high school, i liked having notebooks for each class and having an accordion folder to hold all my papers. that worked perfectly fine for me but there may be other methods that work better for you. i suggest, especially if you’re just about to start or just started high school, that you experiment with different organisational systems to find which one suits you best.

i’ve got a page dedicated to my favourite supplies and how i use them. i hope you can get some inspiration from it in some way.

motivational tips:

1. quotes

go on google, tumblr, facebook, instagram, weheartit or whatever tickles your fancy and search up some quotes that inspire you. it sounds really corny, but i’m telling you that it works. i had three quotes above my desk and they always used to motivate me when all i could think about was crashing into the comfort of my blankets. i would pick quotes and write/draw them out myself so i could add my own spin on them. i used:

  • “make hermione proud”
  • “effort only fully releases its rewards to those who refuse to quit”
  • “you have galaxies in your head, don’t let anyone tell you you cannot shine”

ta-da!

2. studyblr

this community! it’s the best motivation in my opinion. whenever i was in a procrastination slump, i would scroll through the studyblr tag or scroll through studyblr blogs and before i knew it i’d be ready to study for another hour. it’s honestly one of the most helpful resources, and if it’s available to you then i definitely recommend that you use it!

3. music

get yourself a study playlist. it’s amazing what music can do for your mood. add a mix of songs that will get you pumped to blitz through that 5-star difficulty chemistry question and songs that will help you concentrate when you need to find the right word for that english essay. studying when it’s dead quiet is weirdly deafening to me and i can’t concentrate if there isn’t some sort of background noise. just add whatever helps you - whether it be panic!, classical or in my case, kpop hehe

i have a playlist suggestion on my blog if you want to try listening to some new songs. :)

that’s all, folks!

in all honesty, high school isn’t going to be a walk in the park if you want to succeed. it takes dedication, a lot of persistence and a consistent work ethic. you need to know what you’re aiming for, and you need to want it just as much, if not more, than the person who wants the same thing. my high school experience was stressful and anxiety inducing, but i can honestly say that the rewards on the flip side are very much worth it. you’ve got this. you’ll do a lot more than survive. you will succeed.

you can do it! i believe in you!

stay motivated x

Dan has never put himself out there like that, at least not in a video. Any time he typically brings up sexuality, it is ALWAYS in a liveshow except for his roast and a few small brief comments here and there. His liveshows have like 1/45th the amount of viewers that his videos have

He’s not pandering. He’s more comfortable. He knew what he was doing and he did it with the intention to have it be a thing and not feel like he needs to mention it. In his videos, he doesn’t go into detail about his life and his feelings and his thoughts. If you want detail, go to his liveshows.

He doesn’t feel like he has to come out. Perhaps he has nothing to come out with. Saying ‘oh yeah I’m kinda attracted to these kinds of people and these kinds and I’m also into people who dress in animal suits but I don’t really feel the label of pan or bi or gay I just feel like Dan’ and then labeling the video COMING OUT or even so much as mentioned the words coming out, people will bitch and complain.

They’ll bitch and complain that he played it up for views and he’s actually a cishet who wanted a reason to make money off pride but if he made a video that said, 'yeah I’m bi I guess’, it wouldn’t be how he really feels and people would call him out for literally the same exact fucking thing.

Dan cannot and will never win. No matter what he does or what he says, it will never be good enough for some people or it will be too much for others There will never be a time when everyone is okay with his words and his choices and his feelings.

But the big fucking picture is that it is no ones business but Dan’s.

It’s not your business. It’s not my business. It’s not his parents business. Hell it’s not even Phil’s business. It’s Dan’s and Dan’s alone. What he decides to share and what he decides to keep quiet is his choice and people have to start fucking respecting that.

It’s no ones decision whether he comes out or not. It is no ones decision to say what coming out means to Dan. Maybe he doesn’t think that’s coming out. Maybe he does. Who the fuck knows.

The only person who has that choice is Dan. And he seems pretty fucking happy where he is. He’s so fucking happy considering he was at a point where he was literally on guard constantly about his sexuality and his personal life. Without putting words in his mouth and assuming his own personal experiences, if I had been in Dan’s shoes a few years back, I would not have been a mentally healthy person.

Just let the boy live. Let him be happy. Let him live his fucking life how he pleases. If you find comfort in what he produces, find comfort. If you don’t find that, don’t turn it on Dan and bitch and complain that his personal beliefs and feelings about himself do not cater to your feelings.

Not everything needs to be a fucking fight. You can’t say you support someone in one breath and beg for them to come out and be your big gay icons and put a shit load of pressure on them to be things they don’t want to be and then in another breath bitch that the things you consider to be small steps (which could be big steps to Dan) aren’t good enough.

Just fucking find joy in it. If you don’t, don’t fucking watch. Make your own fucking content then. Find content creators who make that kind of content. Don’t insist someone change their thoughts on their own sexuality because it would benefit you in the long run

I’m so fucking pissed off and I’m so fucking happy for Dan
I want to give him the worlds biggest hug and tell him how happy I am that he is in a better place.

Hello everyone! As school season finally approaches, it would be a good time to write this post about tips and advice on the start of the school year. These are general go-to tips on how to begin school in a way that may help you achieve success by the end of the year. There will be a separate post on how to mentally prepare yourself, so be sure to keep an eye out for it~!

set goals and priorities: Find out what you want to accomplish for the school year. Having goals can affect your whole performance in your classes. Also, priorities are also important; know which classes you have to study extra harder for.

get to know your class: This includes your class curriculum (content, rules, resources, and whatnot), classmates, and teachers (yes, even though they may seem stingy, they’re going to give you benefits in the long run). By doing so, you are going to be able to adjust better to the class as a whole.

build a course outline: Something that I discovered is helpful, but couldn’t do because I realized it at the end of the year. This is basically a written or typed summary of everything you learned in the class, but in a highly condensed form. This is a very useful preparation for final exams, so I highly suggest it!!

sit in the front of the class: I have heard this from a few people, and I thought I might as well share it because it’s pretty clever. Benefits for sitting in front of the class are: you are likely to pay more attention to the lectures, there are less distractions of things and other people, and your teacher is more likely to notice you, which is a good thing for several reasons which is enough to make another masterpost (haha so I may do one in the future~)

don’t be complacent: It may be the beginning of the school year, but is it really a good start to sit in the fence for the first few weeks? Nope. Even if you don’t have a lot of work, it’s best to take advantage of your free time by studying the lessons in advance. It may be a pain at first, but it will be so much more worth it in the future.

start learning time management: I must have to stress this out, because this is one of the most super significant things a student must learn in order to be successful in school (and also in life tbh), so important that it can be another masterpost, so stay tuned for that as well! (haha so many plans ik) but long story short, this includes recognizing what has to be done first, which are called prioritizing.

I hope these tips help in some form~ If you have any questions or comments about this, I’d be more than glad to answer them in this post, through my ask box, or in dm. If you want to see more of my “Back to School Marathon” which runs for the whole month of August, please click here! It includes more tips/advice, designs, and a alot others! Thank you for reading this and have a great day!~

Part One ||| Part Two ||| Part Three

It’s that I hate to hurt you
But I got to be honest
I can’t give you what you need
You deserve more than I can promise
And I’m just tryna, I’m just tryna
Baby, I’m just tryna be honest

{Part one of this imagine}

Tom glanced up from his phone to see [Y/N] walking towards the table he had grabbed just outside their favorite lunch spot. Tucking his phone into his back pocket, he stood up and gave her a hug. It took everything in him to avoid kissing the lips he had gotten used to. Watching as she sat across from him, his heart broke at the fact that in less then thirty minutes, she wouldn’t be glowing like she usually did.

“What did you need to talk about? Sounded pretty serious.”

Tom pressed his lips together, running his hands over his thighs as he prepared his thoughts. “Um, I wanted to, uh, we need to um.” Clearing his throat, he closed his eyes and sighed. “I don’t know how else to say it other then we need to break up.”

Suddenly regretting opening his eyes, he frowned at her expression. The pain and confusion radiated off her eyes. Running his hands over his face, he groaned. He should have rehearsed this in his head or at least ease into the conversation. “I don’t want to but it’s just, I can’t. It’s so difficult to be in a relationship right now. With the stress and demand I’m in, I just, I.” Tom looked at her, biting his lip. “Say something, [Y/N].”

[Y/N] leaned back in her seat, her chest feeling like it had been run down by a train. “I don’t know what to say right now, I’m kind of blanking on words.”

Tom reached for her hands, rubbing his thumb over them. “I love you, [Y/N]. I probably always will but you deserve so much more from me and I just physically can’t give it to you. I’m not going to ask you to wait because that is beyond unfair to ask that of you. I’m being honest with myself and with you.”

She gently drew back her hands, placing them in her lap, she took a shaky inhale. “Is there, is there someone else?”

“No! Absolutely not.” Tom cried out, shocked that she would even ask that. “I promise, [Y/N]. There is no one else, no one but myself influenced this decision.”

[Y/N] couldn’t really say if she believed him or not. She had seen the premieres and had even been to a few after-parties. She had seen the looks some of the girls their age had given him. It would be easy considering she was off doing her thing and he was off doing his most times.

“[Y/N], look at me.” He said gently, waiting for her to meet his gaze, he firmly stated. “No one else in this world has my eye, it’s only you. But, I just can’t give you what you deserve. I want to, god, I want to. I want it to be like it was, us cuddling on the couch watching a film with Tess trying to eat our popcorn. I want those back but with Spiderman and other opportunities, I-”

“-you don’t have to explain yourself, Tom.” She cut him off, unable to listen to anymore. “I get it, you’re growing into this incredible actor and you have walk through the doors as they open. I understand. I’d never want to hold you back.”

“Oh, [Y/N], love. This isn’t about me, at all. It’s about you. I want you, always. But, I won’t always be able to and before it gets to that point where we end things on bad terms, I want to save it.” Sighing, he ruffled his hair and whimpered out. “I love you so much and I want it to work but my time is-”

“-I understand, Tom.” [Y/N] pressed her lips together, standing up, she leaned over and pressed a light kiss on the creases of his forehead. Pulling apart, she felt a tear slid down her cheek and land on his hand. Wiping away the streak, she took a quick inhale and tried to find her composure. “I, um, I should get going”

“[Y/N]?”

“Uh,” wiping away a few more tears, “yeah?”

“I really do love you, okay? Please don’t ever believe that I didn’t.”

Nodding, she gave a small wave. “Got it, I won’t forget.”

Tom watched as she spun on her heel and walk away. Little did she know that even though she was feeling like the whole world was crashing down. Tom was feeling like someone had stabbed a knife in his chest and was continuously twisting it inside. It hurt to watch her walk away, to watch her walk away from their love, walk away from the last few years, and incredibly difficult to watch her walk away crying because he was the one who caused her to do so.

Sitting back, he closed his eyes. The choice he had made was only benefiting her in the long run. [Y/N] deserved so much more attention than he had been giving her the last few months. Opening his eyes, he stood up and started his walk back home. As he took his first steps, he felt the full extent of the blow of having just broken up with her. What if he had made a mistake?

Part One ||| Part Two ||| Part Three

hello hello! So I decided to share the things I’ve discovered, along with some stuff I’ve learned in Psychology, about sleeping // getting up early and enjoying the day! I hope you find this masterpost helpful :)

alarms

  • Don’t use the same alarm every day. Switch it up. Using the same alarm every day will make you really tired of it! It’s ultimately less motivating. Something as simple as switching up your alarm sound from day to day can make you more excited about the morning ahead of you!
  • Use an alarm sound that makes you happy, not an annoying one! Yes, annoying alarms can sometimes be super helpful. But waking up to them is really not that enjoyable. Using the car honking sound for my morning alarm just makes me irritated and less happy in the morning. It sort of feels like you’re being jerked out of your sleep. Try instead an upbeat song that will make you want to dance, or a song with motivational lyrics (I use Uma Thurman by Fall Out Boy on Mondays lmao) Another idea is classical music (here’s a giant classical masterpost), which can be a very renewing way to wake up!
  • Don’t continuously press snooze. Continuously pressing snooze in the morning to get those extra 8-minute intervals of rest can be really disruptive for your sleep. Seriously, I used to do this all the time and I would always be groggy for at least the first part of the day. It is BEST to sleep for a solid block of time (at least one REM cycle) and then be awake for a solid block of time. Don’t keep hitting snooze! When your alarm rings, count to 3 and just throw yourself out of bed.

sleeping

  • Adjust your sleep schedule for lots of time in the morning! Yes, this means going to bed earlier! But if you wake up earlier, you will have more of the morning to yourself. Making time for the morning is a great way to do something that makes you happy and get excited for the day to come.
  • Put your phone on Do Not Disturb. This has helped me so much in trying to fall asleep earlier. For bonus points, put your phone far away from your bed!
  • FACT: You sleep the best (and wake up more refreshed) when your room is around 62-70° F or 16-21° C.

in the morning

  • Visualize your day what you’re excited about! You can have as much coffee as you want, but genuinely being excited about the day is the best way to stay awake! Try even writing down one thing you’re excited to do that day! It doesn’t have to be big, sometimes the little things are the best :)
  • Go out running or do some exercise. Good exercise can yield both physical and psychological benefits!! If you can, running is a great way to start off the day. I like to run in the park near my house, but running down your street works too! If you hate running, or just aren’t up for it, you can try working out from the comfort of your own house (try the fitness channels on Youtube) If you’re brave, take a cold shower after that. (Avoid a hot shower because it will make you drowsy)
  • If you have time, make a nice breakfast for yourself! (Self explanatory… never underestimate the wonders of good food and coffee.)

helpful resources

  • Sleepyti.me: This is a sleep calculator that really works! The science behind it is that you will 500% more refreshed in the day if you don’t wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle. Sleepyti.me helps you to wake up at the optimal time so that you don’t interrupt any cycles!
  • WhiteNoise: A free app, WhiteNoise gives you a ton of different tracks and calming sounds to choose from that will play from your phone all night and will help you sleep.
  • Pacifica: If you’re feeling stressed or anxious, try Pacifica. It’s a free app that has helped me a ton with my stress. You can also use it to talk to others who are feeling the same stress (for free!)

I hope you guys found this masterpost helpful, and feel free to add on! :)

Despite that it’s Star Wars and how huge it is, it’s still work to me, and that element of things grounds you, especially from nerding out a few times. Although, some days I can’t control myself. But apart from that, a good set of people behind you. Good family and friends. I’m lucky that I’ve disciplined myself in choosing who I allow into my heart [pounds fist on chest] so it’s benefited me in the long run. Now I’m ready for the ride.

I will forever hate how “health & fitness” is aimed at women

Because while there may be helpful blogs or pages that provide access to resources like “these foods help provide you key daily nutrients” or “this strength training activity can provide health benefits in the long run”

it’s all buried under pictures of naturally thin white women who just happen to be wearing a sports bra and “follow this unhealthily restrictive meal plan so that you can be super skinny!!!1!”

Circumstance (Part 12)

This chapter is equal parts sad and devastating. Good luck.

Eventually, Ember flew home. She’d done a couple laps around the mountains that surrounded Orynth, savoring the feeling of the wind beneath her wings once more after two weeks of being without them. It didn’t feel the same as it had with Cade though. Flying with her mate - even without him knowing that he’s her mate - made Ember feel complete in the sky. The way they had danced in the air had made her feel giddy and free for the first time in a long while. Without him, Ember found herself drifting, losing the air current, ultimately unenthusiastic about her flight. Her phoenix could still fly just fine, as well as she always could, but now that she knew the possibility of more, it felt… boring.

She can still feel those black claws hooked onto her mind, Ember thinks that there will never be a time when she won’t be able to feel it. The princess also feels a thread on her heart, which had been slack and almost unnoticeable, but is now tightly straining, pulling her in an unknown direction. She decides to add it to the list of things connecting her to her mate - to Cade.

She goes back to the castle reluctantly, because she knows that Gusty can only cover for her for so long, and because she knows that her parents will have questions. Ember flies down into the courtyard, where Elide, Lorcan, and Wren are resting peacefully in the grass. When they see her phoenix, Lorcan immediately hands the baby to his wife, and stands to greet her. With a flash, she shifts back into her fae form and nods to him stiffly.

“Where were you?” He asks. Ember can hear the slight worry in his tone and briefly feels guilty for making even stoic Lorcan nervous.

The princess shrugs. “I needed to blow off some steam,” she mutters, “today did not go as planned.”
