Sailor Moon Digital Music Box and Sailor Moon Crystal Pocket Watch Review
Helloooooooooooooooooooo everyone!!! Such a happy and momentous day today!! Why you ask? Why, because you get to hear from ME!!
Just kidding! On June 26, 2015 the SCOTUS made same sex marriage legal in all 50 states!! LOVE FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!
Now, TO BUSINESS! I’ve actually been meaning to write this review for a while now, but I’ve been pretty busy with work but I was finally able to get some time today which is awesome!!! I am going to warn you though, the images I’m using are NOT my own. My phone is broken so I can’t take pictures of the ones I got but once I get my piece of junk fixed I promise I will try to upload more photos!
((I’ve also added some key words to the review that you might find helpful. Make sure you read EVERYTHING.)
The locket is made out plastic, should come with a standard Android USB charging cord, and mine came with a chain as well. The charging slot is between points 3 and 4 and according to the seller, it has a 3 to 5 hour charge. I have no way of confirming that because I didn’t get an instruction manual with mine.
It comes in this box (image belongs to http://sakurah18.deviantart.com/art/Sailor-Moon-Star-Locket-2014-484911817) and is protected by a piece of satin fabric and molded foam. When you charge the locket, be careful because the charging screen will look the same, even if you’ve charged it for 24 hours! But I could not be happier with this product!! It looks beautiful, and the music is gorgeous.
Speaking of music, I forgot to mention that it plays TWO versions of Moonlight Densetsu. The first version, which is like the original, lasts for about 40 seconds while the second version, a more orchestral version, goes for about 2 minutes (give or take a few seconds). If you leave the locket open, it’ll play the second version over and over and over and over and over and over! And if you get tired of it, there is something VERY VERY wrong with you.
When I got this, it was tick tick ticking away and looked so stunning that I think I babbled for a little bit. FYI, the moon and stars DO NOT MOVE. They are there for decoration only. Mine DID come with a chain but I wasn’t happy about where the clasp was located (I was nervous that if the clasp broke, the watch would fall and the crystal aka glass would break) so I’m using a different chain instead!
Now just a heads up, the crystal aka glass is held in place by a piece of plastic called a gasket (just found out that’s what it’s called). The gasket on mine popped out due to extreme heat (I live in a desert) which means that the crystal aka glass also popped out! Luckily I was sitting on the carpet so the crystal aka glass didn’t shatter on me. I contacted the seller about the incident and they were more than happy to send me out a replacement. I decided to hold off on that and took it to a local watch repair shop at my local mall. They didn’t have a gasket that fit so they offered to epoxy the crystal aka glass back on.
Cost me a little over $10 USD but I am SO much happier with the epoxy!! I wear it everyday now and love every minute of it! So just a word advice, if the plastic holding the crystal aka glass pops out, take it to a watch or jewelry repair shop to get it fixed! And whatever you do, unless you know 100% what you are doing, DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF!!!!! You do NOT want to ruin it!
So there you have it! Two wonderful, awesome pieces of Sailor Moon awesomeness. I hope you enjoyed this review!!
I have finally (with the help of my dad and very generous lovely people) been able to acquire an AlO Printer to start selling my artwork!
Eventually I would like to expand the prints to tote bags, t-shirts, tank tops and sweaters in the next few months to a year. It really all depends on your help, so reblogs will be very appreciated (seriously I will love you forever)!
Requests are welcome and I will try my damn best to get them to you as soon as possible.
You can send print requests for:
•a fandom of your choice (the t.v section in my tags will give you a pretty good idea but you can always ask)
•watercolor versions of one of my existing prints
•a photograph of you or someone else (selfies included)
Any questions or comments just send me an ask.
