Congratulations to Viola Davis on her Oscar win for ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’ as Rose Maxson in the film ‘Fences’ (2016) directed by Denzel Washington at the 89th Annual Academy Awards.

Thank you to the Academy. You know, there’s one place that all the people with the greatest potential are gathered. One place and that’s the graveyard. People ask me all the time, what kind of stories do you want to tell, Viola? And I say, exhume those bodies. Exhume those stories. The stories of the people who dreamed big and never saw those dreams to fruition. People who fell in love and lost. I became an artist—and thank God I did—because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life. So, here’s to August Wilson, who exhumed and exalted the ordinary people.

I’m late to the Fantastic Beasts party but I arrived on time to crank out a comic for Valentine’s Day. Queenie drags Tina to a certain bakery to court a certain baker and give her sister a special surprise…

I kept thinking about the last shred of Credence escaping and materializing elsewhere in NY, without his memory and into the arms of people who love him and would never take advantage of him. I also really need for Tina to know that Credence is okay.

Special thanks to @exhibit-no-restraint for being the best cheerleader and a tolerant friend as I wailed about sad boys

Short Description: You, a river vixen and Archie’s girlfriend, never fail to make Archie smile; or blush for that matter. The two of you are a sophomore power couple at Riverdale, Archie as quarterback of the football team and you as Cheryl Blossom’s successor as cheer captain when she graduates.
A/N: Archie’s nickname for you is firecracker bc you’re a total babe. Also, I absolutely live for writing River vixen!reader fics. Seriously.

Disclaimer: not my gif

[Y/N] = your first name
[Y/L/N] = your last name

Being a Riverdale Vixen habitually put you at the top of the Riverdale High School social scheme. But for you, it just meant that you could let loose as you cheered on your football star boyfriend, Archie Andrews. You and Archie had been together for over a year, and you loved being a River Vixen. Cheerleading had always been up your alley. You had a fiery, sassy attitude, which earned you the nickname that Archie gave you: firecracker. Only Archie ever called you that, and you thought he was beyond sweet for giving it to you.

“Y/N!” the harmonious voice of Cheryl Blossom, the senior captain of the River Vixens, acknowledged you as you stood at your locker. You glanced over at her, seeing the beautiful redhead smiling an authentic smile at you. A lot of people thought that Cheryl Blossom was cold-hearted and malicious, but you had known her since your Freshman year at Riverdale, and you had always gotten along well with her.

“Hey Cheryl,” you greeted, closing your locker and leaning against it with a beam. “What’s up?”

“Don’t forget that we have a mandatory River Vixens practice after school before the game tonight,” Cheryl reminded you as you both began strolling in the direction of the student lounge. “I mean, I didn’t think that you would, but better safe than sorry.” She inserted and you nodded your head.

“Of course, captain,” you laughed, teasing her. “I’ll make sure B and V get there too,” you assured Cheryl before parting ways as you entered the student lounge. Betty, Veronica and Kevin were all sat together on the sofa chairs, chatting amongst themselves as Kevin finished his homework at the last minute. “Good morning Vixens,” you saluted them, taking a seat next to Betty with a grin. “Cheryl just reminded me that we have practice after school before the game tonight, so be there.” You added, and Betty and Veronica both expressed their anticipation for the game that evening.

Two hands covered your eyes, and you heard Betty and Veronica giggling quietly to themselves. “Jughead, I already told you, not at school,” you joked, knowing that it was Archie as you covered his hands with yours and pulled them away from your face. You turned and laughed, seeing Archie smiling at you, dressed in his varsity jacket, as per usual. Jughead stood behind him with a smirk.

“Oh Y/N, you’ve revealed our affair.” He joked, nudging you with his elbow as he passed before taking a seat next to Veronica. “However will I satisfy my need for pep now?” Jughead added – making fun of your status as a cheerleader, and the slogan of your hometown – and you got up to greet Archie with a kiss.

I was motivated and inspired so i wanted to draw more high school AU. i thought that giving them a simpler uniform would be better, and well easier to draw, so there’s that.

BUT YEAH, just think of the possibilities: Mileena and Kotal competing for the position of school president, having an election, posters, badges “vote 4 mileena”, etc. Frost, Reptile, Kitana, D’vorah working on the school newspaper. Kitana, Jade, Sareena being cheerleaders. Skarlet and Ermac helping in the school’s medical department. Smoke, Rain being in the drama club. Shinok as a history teacher & Quan Chi and Shang Tsung - maybe of chemistry and math. being the most feared teachers. AND SO MUCH MORE.

Thank you for putting two entities in the driving seat: August and God. And they served you well. And to Dan and May Ellis Davis, who were and are the center of my universe, the people who taught me good or bad how to fail, how to love, how to hold, how to lose. My parents—I’m so thankful that God chose you to bring me into this world, to my sisters, my sister Dolores, we were rich white women in the tea party games. Thank you for the imagination. And to my husband and my daughter. My heart, you and Genesis. You teach me every day how to live, how to love, I’m so glad that you are the foundation of my life. Thank you to the academy. Thank you.” - Actress Viola Davis accepts Best Supporting Actress for ‘Fences’ onstage during the 89th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood & Highland Center on February 26, 2017 in Hollywood, California.

Isak gets stuck in an elevator with the one person he’s vowed never to speak to again. This eventually prompts a conversation long overdue, but not without the memories flooding his brain like a broken dam first.

a big thank you to @aheavenlyrush for suggesting the stuck in an elevator trope! this took on an entirely different life of its own, but you’re the reason it started. and to @stardefiant for being my cheerleader and to @adamparishe for believing it wouldn’t be a piece of crap even though it might be.

also just fyi, the student athlete au isnt something i came up with entirely by myself!! @stellaisgay brought it up to me and then we started talking abt it which then shaped it into our au so like im not the only person to approach/reference concerning it :0c

Here’s my breakdown of what happened at C2E2!

I spent Friday attending professional panels for the comics industry, which probably deserves a post of its own, but I don’t think anyone is interested in me talking shop. But Saturday was devoted to Agents of SHIELD stuff with Iain and Liz. I had an amazing time and so many awesome things happened. Truly it was the best con experience I’ve ever had and, as @bigfunnywords (HEY Tumblr finally let me tag you!) said, I lived my best life. I’ll try to do the tl;dr version but this will probably get long.

Putting the rest behind a cut for your scrolling convenience.

ENFP Stereotypes

You know, as I scroll through the ENFP tag here on tumblr, I have to wonder where this horribly wrong stereotype about ENFPs being “bubbly” and spouting nothing but nonsense came from, when you consider the efforts and personalities of real life notable ENFPs such as: Salman Rushdie, John Lennon, Joan of Arc, and Erasmus.

Ne and Fi together produce hilarity, yes, but often with a razor sharp and sometimes offensive slant behind it; Fi is moralizing, it wants to make a point, and it WILL shock and offend people to do it, if they feel strong enough about the subject. Because Fe is lacking, there is no bubbly Fe-filter – just brutal honesty via Te. Fi, as ENTP points out, is the “definition of ANGST.”

Somehow, all the other high Fi-types are taken seriously, but because Ne-dom is capable of concealing truth under biting humor, there’s a misconception online that this results in them being stereotyped as silly rather than the serious intellectualism that comes with Ne + Fi.

Yes, they tell jokes. They often tell barbed jokes. ENFPs like to point out the uncomfortable truths no one in society wants to deal with – through humor. What is so particularly shallow and bubbly about that? They use sarcasm and wit to deal with feelings, to point out the stupidity of modern society, and to affect change. They may hide seriousness from time to time, if uncomfortable discussing deep things with you, but ENFPs in general do not go about being the cheerleaders of the known universe. Often, we find something (Fi) that matters intensely to us, and then there’s nothing funny about it.

If you are dealing with a really bubbly extroverted personality, who seems to use Ne just to have fun and be silly rather than as a serious filter through how they see reality, which shapes every viewpoint with immediate contradictions, do yourself, and ENFPs a favor and call them what they are: ESFJs.

- ENFP Mod

(I adore ESFJs, BUT STOP CALLING THEM ENFPs.)

Episode Ten

~Was it just me who felt that Veronica was being unreasonable with Cheryl during cheerleading practice? Like Veronica was legitimately late, and I get that she’s pissed at the Blossoms, coupled with the added fact that Cheryl thinks she’s self entitled, but still, tardy is tardy and Cheryl threatening to put her at the back is, frankly, something I would expect from anyone in her position… Unpopular opinion, I guess?
~When Archie said something along the lines of “This was Betty’s idea”, like bro, no, you were the one who said “Screw it,” and basically let the entire grade into Jughead’s birthday party -_-
~When Chuck basically said that he thought of dark Betty, every night, before bed- ugh, he deserved that slap.
~Jughead sitting in the corner, petting Archie’s dog- #relatable
~That fight, oh my god. Tbh Jughead was mean, although brutally honest in some cases, but bringing Archie up was, well, not a great move. But at the same time, Betty should’ve understood that her boyfriend is an introvert and this party is NOT something he wants. (Although it’s clarified more in the make-up scene.)
~Cheryl, I will slap you. I thought I loved you but turns out, I don’t.
~Chuck, you deserve all the punches in the world.
~I felt like Juggie should have had more serious injuries after being punched straight through a glass table- face first, notably.
~FP Jones, you have saved Bughead. Kudos to you.
~Alice Cooper and FP???????
~We need more Joaquevin. (Is that their ship name?
~“I’ve got layers” and then Betty adorably smiling in the back.
~Sans hat. I wish Betty would’ve run her hands through his dark hair.
~Jughead Jones is a flawed human being that is too good for this world.
~Betty Cooper is a flawed human being that deserves only good things.
~ #bugheadprevails yay
~ #sodoesvarchie yay
~ That Veronica and Jughead interaction though- twenty seconds long, but V V wholesome
~Did Jughead sleep at Betty’s and sneak out before Alice came in her bedroom? ;)
~Archie cleaning up while Jughead’s eating to his heart’s content- sometimes I’m Jug, sometimes I’m Archie.
~That pinky- I will never forget.
~“I am never telling anyone anything literally ever again.” Same, Jug.
~Episode ten- 11/10, lots of feels, added bonus that I died.

Prompt from kimberlyhartz: could you write kim being the track star (or cheerleader for canon’s sake) and trini being the girl on the bleachers??

Trini dropped her bag next to her on the bleachers and sat down with a huff, staring out at the students stretching their muscles before they’d begin warmups. Her eyes automatically sought out Kim, who could be spotted from a mile away in her bright pink tank top. Trini shook her head as she remembered the conversation they’d had about the Pink Ranger joining the track team.

Well, it was actually less of a conversation and more of Kim just telling them all that she was doing it no matter what.

“What about your powers?” Trini said. “You can run circles around those track geeks and not even break a sweat.”

“I’ll hold back,” Kim replied. After a moment of uneasy silence from her friends, she’d said, “Look, I’m not doing cheerleading anymore and my parents are getting on my case about extracurricular activities and how good they look on college applications and all that shit. They’re basically forcing me to do this and track’s the only team that’ll take me after that whole…naked picture fiasco.”

“I still don’t like it,” Jason chimed in. “You could easily slip up.”

“Well how about Trini comes to practice with me.”

“Excuse me?” Trini crossed her arms.

“That way one of you can keep an eye out and let me know if I need to tone it down or not.”

“Why am I the one that gets volunteered for this?” Trini asked.

“Because I’d much rather have you there watching me than any of the boys. No offense, guys.”

“How do you know I don’t have other things to do after school?”

Kim gave her a look. “Trin…you never do anything after school.” Deciding to change her tactics, Kim changed her expression into a pout. “C’mon, it’ll just be for, like, the next few months. When the year ends I’ll just tell my parents I tried, but didn’t like it. That should get ‘em off my back.”

“I guess there’s really no harm in it,” Zack said. “As long as it’s only for a couple months.”

Trini shook her head and sighed. “Fine. I’ll go to your stupid practices and make sure you don’t fuck up.”

Kim grinned and pulled her in for a bone-crushing hug as Trini tried to ignore the fluttering feeling that stirred in her stomach.

So here she was, five minutes into “Kimberly Watch” and was already bored out of her mind. Trini stared at Kim as the other girl bent over and touched her toes, back facing her. Inadvertently, Trini’s eyes strayed just below the waist and locked onto Kim’s ass, clad in tiny running shorts that also made her legs look like they went on for miles.

Initially, she didn’t notice that Kim had straightened up and turned her head to look over at her sitting on the bleachers. When she finally realized that Kim was looking at her, Trini’s eyes snapped to her face and took in the smirk that was firmly fixed there.

Shit, she totally caught her staring at her ass. But…did Kim…like it? Because her reaction certainly seemed that way. But then again, maybe Kim was just one of those girls who knew she was hot and liked the attention. But then again Trini knew for a fact that she wasn’t one of those girls. Sure, Kim knew she was good-looking, but she hated it when people stared at her like she was a piece of meat. She was more than just looks, you know.

So why did she seem to like catching Trini staring at her?

Fuck, Kim confused her. Sometimes it felt like Kim was flirting with her. She’d constantly be touching her: an arm thrown around Trini’s shoulders, her head laying in Trini’s lap. For fuck’s sake, they would even cuddle whenever they’d sneak into one another’s rooms in the middle of the night. Did that mean Kim actually might…like her or was she just blowing everything out of proportion? It didn’t help that Trini had the biggest crush on her, but wasn’t Kim straight?

Trini watched as Kim laughed at something some tall, dark, and handsome guy said. She laid down on the ground and he grabbed her foot, helping her to raise it up and stretch it out. Trini felt the burning sting of jealousy and insecurity flare up inside her. Crestfallen, she leaned back against the bench above her and popped in her earbuds, turning the music up as loud as her eardrums could handle.

Yeah, she had to be wrong. There was no way a girl like Kimberly Hart would ever go for a girl like Trini Gomez.
