becoming a photographer

I know these will all be stories some day, and our pictures will become old photographs. We all become somebody’s mom or dad. But right now, these moments are not stories. This is happening. I am here, and I am looking at her. And she is so beautiful. I can see it. This one moment when you know you’re not a sad story. You are alive. And you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you’re listening to that song, and that drive with the people who you love most in this world. And in this moment, I swear, we are infinite.

I don’t know if I will have the time to write any more letters because I might be too busy trying to participate. So if this does end up being the last letter, I just want you to know that I was in a bad place before I started high school, and you helped me. Even if you didn’t know what I was talking about or know someone who’s gone through it, you made me not feel alone. Because I know there are people who say all these things don’t happen. And there are people who forget what it’s like to be 16 when they turn 17. I know these will all be stories someday. And our pictures will become old photographs. We’ll all become somebody’s mom or dad. But right now these moments are not stories. This is happening. I am here and I am looking at her. And she is so beautiful. I can see it. OKAY but like notice how Maggie like reaches out to get know Winn first in that ep. Prolly cause alex talks about her nerd brother all the time and Maggie's like okay I've met the sister now I've gotta meet the brother. (Also she gets nervous around James cause she's a photography nerd and "Alex you didn't tell me James was JAMES FREAKING OLSEN how am I supposed to not look stupid!!!???" Anyway I love Maggie becoming part of superfriends also j'onn was pure and soft like he always is

AND MAGGIE HAS ALWAYS DABBLED IN PHOTOGRAPHY AND JAMES IS ONE OF HER PHOTOGRAPHER IDOLS AND SHE’S JUST LIKE WHAT EVEN ALEX YOU DIDN’T TELL ME JAMES IS GODDAMN JIMMY OLSEN SO ALEX SHOWS JAMES SOME OF MAGGIE’S PHOTOGRAPHS (landscapes, city scapes, shots of Alex, shots of her motorcycle) AND JAMES IS HELLA IMPRESSED AND HE AND MAGGIE BECOME PHOTOGRAPH BUDDIES AND I’M DONE.

Becoming, 2014

This photograph is part of my series, “Becoming,” which explores the process of figuring out who I am and finding worth in my body through self-portraiture. I have lived most of my life hiding because of my size. In return, I have not cultivated a true sense of self, but just consisted of reflections of others. Now I am starting to create a life as a young woman, which consists of accepting myself as I am physically and mentally.

On Friday 3 October 1986, off the coast of Bermuda, the Soviet submarine K-219, a Project 667A Navaga-clas (NATO: Yankee I-class) suffered a catastrophic missile silo explosion after seawater leaked into silo six while underwater, leading to a chemical reaction with the liquid propellant from the SLBM inside of it, producing large quantities of nitrogen dioxide gas that eventually detonated, killing three sailors and mortally wounding the submarine.

Thanks to the efforts of her crew, specially of enlisted seaman Sergei Preminin, who perished in his successful mission to shut down the boat’s nuclear reactor, the submarine managed to surface under battery power, where it was intermediately detected by US aircraft, becoming the most photographed soviet submarine of the Cold War.

A soviet tug managed to reach the stricken vessel, but the damage was so severe, and the silo kept leaking gas into the submarine, that her captain, Igor Britanov, ordered everyone but him to abandon ship and get into the tug, until the ship could no longer remain afloat and sank, the captain managing to abandon her just before she was lost beneath the waves.

The submarine was carrying 34 warheads in 17 missiles (the 18th silo had been welded shut after an earlier, eerily similar accident a few years back), where the explosion completely destroyed the missile inside silo 6, ejecting its warheads into the Atlantic, and the remaining 32 warheads were found missing after a soviet hydrographic research ship found the wreck in 1988, the silos having been found forced open, pointing to a successful recovery effort by the US government.

Today in Gion Kobu: Misedashi of Maiko Mameaki from the Tama Okiya!

What a cutie! She really has the “Maiko-look”, I can already see her becoming a popular model for photographers!

And her ensemble looks so stunning! The kimono and the colorful obi she is wearing are already over 27 years old and both haven’t been used very often lately.

Her onee-san is senior Geiko Mamesuzu, also from the Tama Okiya, who is also the oneesan of Mamekinu. Mamesuzu is one of the best fue-players of Kyoto, so this can only be good for Mameaki!

Congratulations Mameaki and all the best wishes for you career!

Based off of Kia’s 13daysofSasuHina

>Sauce workin at the local mall as a seasonal photographer because Naruto thought working part-time during the holidays would be fun

>Naruto unexpectedly calls in one day & Sauce is the only one who can fit into the Santa costume (he ends up not wearing it tho lol)

>Staff was worried at first thinking he’d scare the kids but ends up being popular

>Rumor has it that if you can withstand the scary Santa your wish will come true

>Highest profit in years! 2 hour waiting line! Staff from other stores are forced to help out

>Once Nardo is back, he becomes reassigned as photographer instead of Santa (is okay with it because he enjoys seeing Sasuke say ho ho ho)

>Sasuke is initially agitated but the cute Santa helper is amused by it so he complies
