Moon in Aries: Feels ill equipped for the world. A temperamental, abandoned child. There is often a fight for survival, a fanatic charge by a screaming inner child who has been lacerated and left here. Suffers migraines. Coping mechanisms may not be developed, the individual may constantly lapse into the framework of the abandoned or bruised child during times of stress or heavy emotions.
Moon in Taurus: Strongly fears being abandoned, and despite giving an aura of calm, the insides resemble quicksand. Can privately binge, over indulge, and self destruct. Feels easily rundown or catches colds easily. Struggles letting go of anything with their emotional investment. Can be haunted by memories.
Moon in Gemini: Emotions are too confusing and complex to be made sense of. The emotional nature can feel like a personality of its own. It’s hard because the individual just wants somebody to teach them how to feel and what to do. Inner needs change rapidly. The individual neglects their own emotional needs, often invalidating their authenticity
Moon in Cancer: Fears of being left are consuming. The emotional reactivity, fears, and demands of the inner child express the individual’s deep feelings of inadequacy regarding their own sensitivity. The individual leaves claw marks on anybody who tries to leave
Moon in Leo: The devouring needs of the inner child charter relationships. The individual is drawn to the comfort of unconditional love, safety, and validation that was denied as a child. Severely wounded by invalidation, they search for a mother figure everywhere they go. Reacts dramatically, but fails at explaining themselves leaving people unsure of how to help
Moon in Virgo: The temperament is a battlefield and the nervous system is in overdrive. During times of distress, the reflex is to withdraw and martyr themselves. Their agitation can be unpredictable. Emotional distress manifests through physical and digestive changes and lack of wellbeing.
Moon in Libra: Emotional needs are disregarded and ignored. Often the individual feels that their own traumas and experiences are less valid than others. The hollowness inside could swallow the universe. Requires a very close relationship with the mother and becomes severely wounded if this is not actualised.
Moon in Scorpio: Emotional experiences are intense and lonely. The inner child is screaming, self destructing, and demanding answers for its isolated existence. Pelvic cramps with no organic causation. Early betrayals and traumas run into deep ledges of the psyche and can rule the individual’s whole emotional life and responsiveness as an adult.
Moon in Sagittarius: The feeling of being lost can become consuming. This can generate a powerful need to control, or be in control. Feelings of escapism infuse with rage and cause severe reactivity. The individual can struggle managing substance misuse. The moon is sentimental and fixed, the moon wants safety and security and time away to be held and nurtured. Sagittarius desires the opposite. Two conflicting needs collide. There is no safe place.
Moon in Capricorn: Afraid to ask, the individual secretly longs for comfort and guidance. There is a frightened child in the body of a full grown adult. The individual is wounded by their lost childhood. The world feels hostile and unwelcoming, cold and unforgiving.
Moon in Aquarius: Feelings are intense and unforgiving, the individual feels compelled to distance themselves from emotions to restrict them from becoming ultimately consuming. The condition of human existence is devastating. During severe emotional torment, the Lunar Aquarius can experience complete numbness and the sense of exit from their own bodies.
Moon in Pisces: Loneliness is exaggerated here. An emotional compass without any direction, feelings take on a life of their own. All life, love, and suffering is born and dies here. Spiritually insatiable, can devote themselves to any guide, creed, or guru that seems to offer salvation.

1st House - your Ascendant, your worldwide persona
Aries Ascendant - outspoken and very sensitive. They are called warriors of the zodiac and for a good reason. They always fight to the end for the cause they believe in and will do everything what it takes to win (literally). They are really smart and inventive. They like to instigate things and cause drama. They never take your advices. Honest and stubborn. They tend to take things to their heart (except advices) and they easily get offended. They crave romance and true love but they are way more shy about those things than people think. They really can get shy in love! But they want to be always considered strong so it is hard to see that side of them. They have a tendency to delete people from their life too fast, without giving it a second thought. Strong minded. Helpful. Sassy. They easily get jealous of others.
Taurus Ascendant - protective and sexy. Their presence is not that intense like Scorpio but still they are visible and hard to miss. Very sensual people. Their sexiness is more subtle and their beauty is very earthy like. They go back and forth with being economical and impulsive with spending money (they might buy things they think they need when they really don’t). They are argumentative and tend to instigate things. They are really protective of their surrendings and people. Generous with their time and money unless you make them doubt your intentions. They can be very cold, calculative and emotionally detached when they need to be.
Gemini Ascendant - funny and welcoming. They are very warm and always make people feel good with them. They will help you with opening up. They can be flighty and overly dramatic. Emotional people. They love diversity in every form. They love to learn new things and help other learn it too. Very helpful, they really want you to feel good around them. They do not want to negativity win over positivity. They can find hope and good in people everywhere. This does not mean that they are naive, no - they are very observant people and very smart. They need a lot of changes in their life. Freedom is their stability. They despise routine but they need it a little bit more in their life to keep their restlessness away from them.
Cancer Ascendant - caring and proactive. They get things done. They are very emotionally and mentally strong. They really can get through a lot and stand still. Patient and caring, they treat their friends as their family members. They will always make sure that you will know how much they love you. They have good intuition and are people smart. They are creative and may appear more innocent that they really are. They will always encourage you to be better. They are very hard-working, they make sure to do things the best they can. Very goofy (when they feel comfortable with you). If you break their trust they will get very cold, logical and ruthless. They will call you out on the things you have done. They will never forget.
Leo Ascendant - generous and witty. Very loving and protective of their loved ones. The unique mix of softness and strength. The royal baby. They will rather die than let you win an argument. They tend to forget about their own worth and look for validation in the wrong places. They are very detail oriented about how they want to appear to the world (especially when it comes to their fashion choices). Creative, smart and devoted to their own art and style. They do not like changes and can be too much stubborn to admit that they need them. Very sensitive but they have amazing fighting spirit.
Virgo Ascendant - competent and charming. They are very sophisticated. Naturally smart, patient and observant. They have a lot of hidden charisma. They know how to act in social situations and keep their image clean. Creative. They are emotionally self-sufficent and they keep people at distance but they know how to appear friendly and welcoming. Other people may often come to them for their knowledge which they like to share. They usually have god complex and dislike when people act like they really know them. They like competent people.
Meticulous and can be mean. They want to show the best of them to the world.
Libra Ascendant - thoughtful and intuitive. They care about justice and balance and they can easily sense when something is “off”. They are really good at finding solutions. Impartial, they look at two sides before judging. They are people smart and helpful. Emotionally strong but when things go wrong they rely more on logic than emotions. They can get cold and distant when they feel they cannot trust someone. Trust is really important for them. If you break your word to them they may forigve you but will never truly forget. They are stylish, aesthetically pleasing and easily make people like them. They can become the ultimate queen b. They get things done and they do not like to sit and wait for things to escalate.
Scorpio Ascendant - passionate and watchful. The infamous “mysterious and intense” ones. They definetely bring a lot to the table. They do not care much about others opinions but others tend to care about theirs. Beside the obvious sexiness, strong aura and intensity they have a lot of sensivity and thirst of knowledge inside of them. They like to discover secrets of the world and they are really good at it. They are careful and like to plan things. They observe people and rely on their instincts when judging them. They like to laugh with others and be more laid-back and goofy but only with those who gained their trust. They have strong convictions that they know how to defend. They are really caring and generous, they have this softness inside of them which they always choose not to show to the world. They are true fighters; they will not back down and run away from a fight but they really not aim to create everything into the battlefield. Ambitious, smart and really adventurous people.
Sagittarius Ascendant - jovial and intense. They have strong, warm aura that that attracts others to them. They are extra about every aspect of their life. Bold, independent and sometimes a little bit intimidating. They make a conscious effort to be funny (they prefer things be kept this way) but they can get serious very fast and when they do they become scary. They have short temper and sharp tongue. They will not tolerate any baloney. They will scream about it to the world if they have to. They will make a fuss about something but five seconds later they will act like nothing happened. They prefer to look at the bigger picture but still will check every little detail. They really do not know how to deal with sadness inside of them so they choose to ignore it and keep themselves busy on something “more interesting” than negative feelings.
Capricorn Ascendant - bold and confrontational. They do not back down from a challenge an actually are more drama prone that they will admit. They are passionate and very emotional but they do not show it easily to the world. They are diligent and prefer to keep the image of professionalists. Independent, sassy, curious and smart, they know how to handle things. They despise incompetence but they are more forgiving if this incompetence come from other people and not themselves. They like affection and compliments especially about achievements, less looks. They are constantly misunderstood and people try to simplify them to being heartless workaholics but they are way more complex. They tend to be more confident when they got older, they need some time to asset themselves in the world but when they do they become ultimate bosses.
Aquarius Ascendant - serious but charming. They are a unique blend of a social butterfly and strong individualist. They like people and spending time with them but they also need a lot of solitude. They often feel outcasted because of their contrasted personality and are considered weird. They are not weird - they are just unapologetic about who they are and you have to deal with it, whether you like what you see or not. Aquarius will not change anything about themselves to make things easier (even when they crave to be understood they will stand still with who they are). They are very curious and have many interests. They need some time to really open up but when they do you can see their passionate, vulnerable and caring side. They really like and need affection. They are smart and blunt. They appreciate unconventional forms of romance.
Pisces Ascendant - smart and incomparable. People see them as this weird, sad guys, who do not comprehend a normal human language. This is not true - they are complex and have many sides to them to show to the world. They easily get inspired by everything around them. They think they know how to blend in but the truth is that somehow they always stand out. They are intelligent, have unique sense of humour and way of looking at the world. They are brave, can get very argumentative when someone is talking about things they are passionate about. They can be both very logical and emotional, serious and goofy, loud and quiet. They are never one thing, they could never choose to be one.
A Stupid Way to come up with Original Characters and Stories (That Somehow Works)
Find a character from a work you admire. Any media will do, but Children’s media works the best.
Ask yourself a few questions about the character in question. I don’t have a complete list, and the questions are likely going to vary, and most of this is coming off the top of my head, but yeah, here are a few suggestions.
Was there anything about this character that ticked you off? Maybe this character did something that you thought was ooc? Or maybe this character is too perfect and could use a few more flaws.
Does the medium or genre prevent the character from performing certain actions? Furthermore, do certain aspects of the characters life, including sex, gender, social status, and age prevent this character from acting in a certain way?
Is there something you want to see the character do that you know will never happen in the show?
And finally, is there anything you want to change about this character?
Rant to yourself or to tumblr about everything the show apparently did wrong. Constantly switch between getting mad at yourself for nitpicking a show you love and being mad at the work itself for not being 100% perfect.
Scream into a pillow, make yourself some hot cocoa, eat a full dinner, and then take a hot shower.
Get out a sketchpad or a word document or anything else you use to brainstorm and start drawing and or writing about the character in the show. But write the character the way you think they should be, as opposed to the way their presented in canon.
Take into account that changing some aspects of your character will effect the story in some pretty big ways, especially if what you changed is an action the character performed. Maybe that Magical Princess ran away at a young age under the stress of becoming queen before joining a gang and ultimately becoming a crime boss? Maybe that Alien supervillain can be reformed by showing them the good things about the planet Earth. When you change an aspect of a story, justify the change by having it affect every other aspect of the story. Whatever you do, though, don’t handwave the change. Instead embrace it… those changes are where the heart of your story lies.
Don’t be afraid to add in elements from other works of fiction other than the one you’ve chosen. Most of the plot elements of Gravity falls and Rick and Morty, for example, are just similar enough to make a meeting between Ford Pines and Rick Sanchez possible.
Look over your work and note just how far you’ve drifted from canon. If you’ve changed the idea enough, it should feel kinda alien to the original work. If it’s too similar, then if might be a good idea to repeat the previous steps.
Some of the things to note include tone, genre, level of obscenity, and target demographic. Considering how fanworks typically go, we almost unconsciously make dark shows light and fluffy and light and fluffy shows dark and gritty. This can be a good thing when done right.
The humour of the work will also depends on the type of humour you feel comfortable writing. Sometimes your humour will be almost exactly like the original work, and sometimes it’ll be drastically different. Aim for the latter.
If you added in elements from another work of fiction, then certain patterns are inevitably going to be formed. using the Rick and Morty/ Gravity Falls fandom above, one can’t help but make Ford and Rick foils of each other; two interdimensional science dorks, but one has a stronger sense of morality. The character reactions between the two of them is dripping with potential that we’ll never see in canon, because these two shows air on different networks and are aimed at different target demographics.
If necessary, repeat the process again, but this time apply this to your version of the character. Continue until your happy with what you have.
Finally, rename the characters, and if you’re an artist, re-draw them as well. The new names and designs should reflect the character you wrote, not the character you were inspired by.
And bam, you just made something original.
Now obviously, this isn’t the only way to make characters or write stories… artists tend to draw from real life just as often as they reference other works of fiction. But the great thing about this process is that it depends entirely on your own personal interpretation of not only the work of fiction in question, but also of how the world around you works. I believe that we, as humans, are natural complainers and nitpickers, constantly believing ourselves to be the sole authority on how the world should work. On one hand, it might be easy to just rant about it and call it a day, but I believe these rants hold quite a lot of creative potential. Writing isn’t about coming up with something wholly new and original… story telling is pretty much limited to the human experience, and we’ll always fall back on something familiar (note the tropeless tale)… instead, its about writing about the familiar in a new way.
okay but tbh, i have a theory that Daenerys will end up being the Mad Queen. like the fact there are warnings or worrisome signs which show she’s losing touch of her emotions. like that conversation she had with Tyrion about how she “felt nothing” despite her loving Daario and making him leave.. like true that she might be getting tougher but the Mad King was lovely and noble before he became mad.. and Dany is of pure Targaryen blood after all. like i feel that all these seasons where she’s being hyped as getting the iron throne and getting stronger and stronger by the season could be her progression to becoming the ultimate antagonist after Cersei and the White Walker King are dead.. like she has dragons and a huge army, anything could happen if she ends up going mad and we dont really know what could trigger that. it could be the final sucker punch plot twist then it will be a battle between Jon and Dany. of course, i could be wrong soo.. but yeah this is my guess
Okay but in wolfstar fics I feel like people get their coming out wrong
The marauders grew up in a less understanding time. James and peter wouldn’t just be like “lol whatever”
Remus would be first to come out (pan, gay, bi, etc.). They already accepted him as a werewolf, so he would have a bit more courage. Sirius, who grew up in a less loving household, would be scared shitless.
When Remus came out Peter would be soooo uncomfortable (a little bigoted and very disturbed), but he would have no clue what to do. So, he would look to James.
James would be silent then ask questions, which then would probably be ‘open minded’ but now be terrible. He would ask how it was possible, ask if he had ever looked at any of the others in a sexual way, ask if he had sex, if he hadn’t if he was sure he was gay, it would continue like that for a while. Once James was satisfied (which would take HOURS, in which Sirius would stay extremely quiet and Peter would look mad during(adding a few questions of his own)) James would end the conversation with the classic “as long as you never like me we’re good.”
But it wouldn’t be good.
Suddenly Peter and James wouldn’t change in front of Remus, they would look sick when they saw Remus talking to a guy who wasn’t in their group, and they avoided him as much as possible.
This went on for a month or so.
Sirius the only one treating him the same.
It ends when Remus breaks down crying one night, to Lily of all people. And Lily being an amazing person (and possibly bi/pan) gets pissed. She rounds up the other three and screams at them until her voice is raw, telling them how they hurt Remus.
After that night James is back to normal and even tears up apologizing to Remus. Because while James was raised in a different time he’s a bro™ and would get over it and even come to love it once everything set it. Peter would take another week or two but, as always, would follow James’ lead.
Sirius would be too scared from James’ and peter’s reaction to come out willingly for at least a few months, maybe a year.
Remus finds out, he accidentally stumbles upon a nude magazine of men that he knows isn’t his. He confronts Sirius who denies it and cries but Remus just says he’ll love Sirius no matter what. After a minute Sirius says it out loud and it’s a big relief.
Remus doesn’t make Sirius come out to the others because he knows how hard it is. It isn’t until a bad full moon that Sirius comes out. Kind of.
Remus is unconscious and bloody and they don’t know if he’ll make it. Sirius is over him, clutching him tightly, mumbling about how Remus can’t leave him, saying how much he loves him. James and Peter whiteness the entire thing but say nothing.
Weeks later Remus is better and Peter is acting weird and detached again, this time only staying close to James.
One time when James and Sirius are alone he asks him how long he had been in love with Remus, then how long he had known he was gay. He apologizes for how he had talked about Remus when the werewolf had first come out, then he cries a little and apologizes for if he made Sirius upset or scared to come out. They cry together and fall asleep on the common room couch hugging.
Sirius officially comes out as gay to the marauders two days later.
They all nod knowingly and there’s a flicker of hope in Remus’ eyes that only James catches. This is when he becomes the ultimate wolfstar shipper and makes multiple plans to get them together. He executes them with the help of Peter (who starts acting supportive eventually) and Lily.
All three are upset when a year into their plans they figure out that Remus and Sirius had been together for half of that time. They 100% find out by waking in on the two making out/banging.
It’s seeing James go from bigot to the biggest gay shipper ever that makes lily realize she could maybe love him, or at lest give him a chance.
The point is:
MAKE JAMES AND PETER WORK TO COME TO UNDERSTAND OTHER SEXUALITIES, STOP PRETENDING PEOPLE WERE AUTOMATICALLY WOKE THIRTY YEARS AGO
Writing Characters that Slowly Descend Into Madness
Okay y'all this is one of my absolute favorite tropes / character arcs / whatever you want to call it. I’ve written at least two characters that end up twisted and deranged… While it’s fun to do, it can be a little difficult to nail down, so I thought I’d share some tips!
From Avatar the Last Airbender’s Azula to Gollum, characters often think that they can handle the Ultimate Power™ when they really can’t. These corrupted characters and their character arcs can be tricky to write, so here’s some pointers!
The character to be corrupted should have a one track mind. Your character needs to have a goal in mind, one that (at least in their eyes) requires the Ultimate Power™. This goal can be as simple as world domination, or as complex as “I need to get revenge on this specific person in this specific manner, or else I won’t be satisfied.” It’s up to you, but you need to make sure that your character’s every action revolves around this central goal. Or, if your character has two motivations, like reconciling themselves to their family while simultaneously saving the world, make sure they can only do one of them! This will cause lots of conflict and it will be great..
Get used to writing internal conflict. In one of my novels, the main character has the power to clean the world’s water supplies, but her friends disapprove for…complicated reasons. She has something of a mental breakdown, wondering if she should be doing what she is. Internal conflict is a great way to show your character being pulled in two different directions; after all, tearing our characters apart is the name of the game.
Make sure your character thinks that they are using their Ultimate Power for good. Even if they’re not. Especially if they’re not. When you can follow a villain’s logic and understand why they are doing the horrific things they are, they become that much creepier.
The Ultimate Power must be so attractive that your character can’t help but use it. The only way your character can be corrupted by power is if they use this power. Therefore, they must use it often. Whether this be a superpower, power that comes from the crown on their head, or dark magic, make sure your reader gets plentiful helpings of seeing the character use it.
Don’t be afraid to take it slow. Characters descend into madness, they don’t plummet into it. Let your character spiral slowly downwards, let them saunter casually into their twisted ways of thinking.
If they can’t be redeemed, they should probably die. Characters that have gone power mad really only have two options: redemption or death. Sometimes your character can pull out of their downward spiral and recognize their mistakes. This may lead to them siding with the very people they had been against, like Magneto teaming up with Prof X to fight a Bigger Baddie. Or they could just admit their mistakes and go on their way, like Mystique occasionally does. But if you can’t find a way to redeem your character (or don’t want to), then you should probably consider killing them off. Characters mad with Ultimate Power™ are usually unsustainable, and will usually self destruct at some point.
A character who descends into their madness and power-craziness and has a descent that is really well written can be super engaging. They are, at least, my personal favorite to write and read about. Have fun, and happy writing!
I can’t get over… how GOOD Tony looks… in Spider-Man: Homecoming… like… he looks so put together… he’s working with the government to create programs to clean up superheroes messes… he’s still saving the day as Iron Man… he’s mentoring the future New Avengers young superheroes… he looks Hella Beautiful in that black suit…
Tony is becoming Ultimate Avenger Leader Tony Stark…. like, full offense, he’s blossoming without Steve Rogers the other Avengers… he doesn’t need them to Get Shit Done… he doesn’t need them…
I feel so happy and vindicated we have been blessed friends.
ep 35: their nuclear option vehicle has become best friends with the Ultimate Evil only known as The Blob, Griffin is almost indortrinated to The Blob, the boys see the face of Satan, and are sent to the Sun Chips Place via garbage bin where time and space intertwine
At just 23 years old, model Hunter McGrady has built a modeling career around breaking the rules, entering the industry as a size 2 straight-size model, and then ultimately becoming a plus-size model, who’s now a size 16.
Photos. Let’s just get this out of the way here and now.
Photos of you, photos of the two of you, photos of you with his family –
According to Jonathan, there can never be enough photos of you
Well, he never outright says it, but you can assume such from his actions
Depending on how you are with getting your photos taken, there can be a
mix of what kinds of pictures of you Jonathan has an abundance of
If you enjoy it, you model and pose quite a lot. There’s plenty of goofy pictures of you that were done to make him laugh
If you detest it, he tries to respect your wishes. Honestly, he does.
But sometimes you just look so beautiful and natural and that profile of
yours looks so right in this lighting and just –
*click* “… Did you just take a picture of me?” “I’m sorry..!!”
Meeting *because* of said profile looking great in lighting
You were honestly probably just getting some reading done while walking
to your car/the bus/however you get to and from school. Jonathan
happened to look your way, saw you, and became incredibly smitten
Normally he’d just take the picture he wanted with or without the
subject’s awareness and move on with his day. With you, however… He
felt different about doing that. Almost ashamed in himself if he did it
without your awareness, or even permission
Nancy looks in the direction Jonathan has been staring at for nearly an
entire minute and immediately knows what’s going on, suggesting that
Jonathan just go talk you
Of course, Precious Picture-Taker™ is too shy to do it, so Nancy tries
another route: Gently pushing him towards you until he’s about halfway
to where you are
He was about to give up and walk away but you looked back at him just
before he could. Poor soul froze and could feel his heart beating so
fast it felt like it was encased in ice. Meanwhile, his face was growing
warmer by the second
Jonathan was incredibly tongue-tied when you asked if you could help
him. Nancy had to step in and say he was doing a senior project for
photography and that you seemed to fit the criteria he’d told her about
His face said “What?”, his eyes said “Panic!”, but his heart said “Thank you, St. Nancy.”
After you two became a couple, you would occasionally tease him about how shy and cute he was being over “little ole you”
Him making you breakfast
It’s already a part of his regular routine, so if you spend the night at the Byer household or arrive there in the morning on the weekends or even school day, you can trust that there will be a fourth plate laid out and stacked with food for you
If he goes to pick you up in the morning to go to school, he packs you a bag with a breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich
Being involved in a two-headed mother hen of a relationship
You’re protective of your lanky prince, always trying to get him to sleep more, making sure he’s dressed warmly in winter when he goes out to take pictures
You’ve stood up to many bullies and unsavory people on his behalf, much to his dismay (and much to his poor heart’s horror)
This includes his father, whom we will discuss later
Jonathan, however, is virtually the same with you. In fact, he might even be even more of a mother hen!
If you’re begging him to put on gloves and a scarf, he’s darn-well making certain that you’re doing exactly that – even when it’s not that cold out
God help you if you sneeze …
He carries a mini first-aid kit in the glove box of his car not long after you two begin dating, which he’s glad to have done after you once got a splinter during a walk
You’re pretty sure he just plain likes feeding you because even beyond packing you breakfasts (which he makes because he thinks you aren’t being healthy enough), he’s always offering you snacks or has some on standby
Jonathan isn’t a confrontational person, but he will throw fists if somebody speaks ill of you
(To be honest, as upset as it makes you to see him hurt, you need to admit that there’s something attractive about seeing him get animalistic
Clarification: Jonathan is definitely the bigger mother hen
Developing a big sis-type relationship with Will and his friends
You learn a bit about Dungeons and Dragons for his sake before realizing it’s pretty fun. You want to join the group at some point, and agree to do so after Mike’s current campaign is over so that you don’t feel like you’re intruding
You inherently become protective of Will and make it your vow to mess up anyone who dares mess with him
Jonathan quietly appreciates this
Joyce adoring you and always ready to save a spot for you at the dinner table. The Byers household ultimately becomes your home away from home
She’s just so happy that her eldest son not only has a significant other, but one who treats him properly and embraces his oft ridiculed characteristics
(However, if you spend the night or anything, she still would prefer his bedroom door stay open. Just an involved mother’s preference)
She always makes sure you go home with a plate of something
Since Jonathan is the photographer, there aren’t too many photos with which she can embarrass him with – doesn’t mean that there aren’t any at all, though
The first time you meet Jonathan and Will’s deadbeat father, you try to hold your tongue. However, the keyword here is “try” because you ultimately failed
The moment that bastard uttered a single word about Joyce and/or her boys, you were hot as a studio light
You were cussing and screaming and calling out as though you were getting paid for it, growing hot in the face
Meanwhile, Jonathan stood there for a few moments, completely gobsmacked: Even when faced with ridicule back in Hawkins, he’d never seen you so pissed
When he finally comes back to reality, however, his instincts kick in and he gently ushers you away.
He can’t tell why his face is red: It’s not embarrassment, he decides, but maybe it’s a little closer to shock, pride, and … excitement?
Double dates with Nancy and Steve
Nobody telling you about the Upside Down or anything that happened until at least a year into the relationship
You’re not exactly upset that such information was withheld. How could you be when you’re too busy being horrified at the trauma everyone has surely gone through
As a result, you become a lot more affectionate towards Jonathan, always nervous that somewhere deep down he’s still very much frightened over his experiences. Speaking of affection, though …
PDA being a very quiet, tame thing between you two
Jonathan, being the closed off person that he is, isn’t necessarily going out of his way to show PDA in the way that most of your peers are.
At most, he’ll peck you on the lips or hold your hand. But in every peck and every hand-holding moment, you can feel the growing love he has for you, never allowing you to doubt his intentions even once
In private, Jonathan still exhibits slight hesitancy to show bigger, more emphasized forms of affection towards you, often fidgeting when you two are sitting together and watching a movie
He may need some encouragement or a clear sentence where you consent to him wrapping an arm around your shoulders
Once you get him cuddling, though, Jonny’s as comfy as a kitten in a sun spot.
Nothing will stop him from nuzzling you and quietly sighing with content
The boy loves neck kisses, giving or receiving. He won’t do the former as often due to his shyness, however. But you rarely let this stop you from placing a quick peck on his own neck to receive a slight shutter or him turning his blushing face elsewhere
Jonathan can’t help but feel like any nickname he gives you sounds awkward falling from his mouth.
At most, he’ll call you “sweetie” or “honey” but he often winds up sounding so unsure or clumsy about it that you can’t help but giggle about it
You, however, go nuts with naming him things and he doesn’t seem to mind: Jon-Jon, Jonny, Jon Boy, Jo-Jo, Baby, My Tired Puppy, Jon-Bon, Stieglitz, Picture Perfect, etc. (After 1983, you begin referring to him as Jon Bon Jovi sometimes)
Blasting The Clash from his room when you’re over or when it comes on the radio in the car
Jonathan becoming so used to your bizarre comments and conversation topics that he’s barely phased by them anymore
He plays along with them, even offering genuine input when you ask for it
He never wants you to feel like you’re too strange or your thoughts are invalid – he knows that feeling all too well and would never wish that on anyone he cares about
As such, he invests himself into every conversation you have, even if he may not have any real thoughts on the subject matter. But if it’s important to you, then he at least needs to make an effort
Helping him prepare his portfolio for his NYU application
Jonathan was honestly a little nervous about telling you that his dream school was NYU – most wouldn’t imagine a shy, quiet guy from a town like Hawkins to be able to make it out of the neighboring cities, let alone to such a prestigious school in a big city.
His little heart did an entire gymnastics routine of shock and complete glee when, after he told you, you gained expression on your face and told him that you needed to start immediately to create the perfect portfolio
In the end, a great portion of the photos wind up including you in them or some aspect of you or something Jonathan later admits he finds symbolic of you
You want to ask him why, but you kind of already know: You’re his muse, simple as that
Enjoying just that: Life with Jonathan (when it’s not involving the Upside Down or whatever else is out there) is simple.
Not in a bad way, but in a sweet way, the kind of way that makes you think of cute diner dates on Friday evenings, walks for ideas for photos on Saturdays, baked pies for Sunday dinners.
The sweet feeling of holding hands as you walk down Main Street, making idle chitchat
Life with Jonathan feels like you’re eternally wrapped in one of his sweaters – which, much of the time, is plenty true
Always being so proud of him and knowing that you two are a team, be it for fighting against the supernatural odds, or for fighting against the more difficult parts of reality
He’s your weary-eyed prince, you’re his knuckle-bearing, fire-tongued princess
