funny story

my class plays that review game, Kahoot. and if you don’t know what that is, it’s where a quiz is up on the board and kids go to the website on their mobile devices and answer the questions. this one kid would log in under the same stupid nickname BIG YELLOW SUN. so one time I logged in under that and he got so hilariously offended that every time we played, someone would steal his name and he started refusing to play because people were stealing his nickname. then our class went on a field trip to this big creek to study water quality but the creek was so muddy that me and him got stuck up to our knees to the point of complete immobilization. while we were stuck in the mud and he couldn’t come after me, i took that opportunity to tell him i was the first to steal his nickname and he was so mad but he couldn’t do anything because neither of us could move. so I was up above my knees in mud laughing at his anger

8, 11, 15, 24 and 49 :) P.S I recently started following you (like two minutes ago) and I just wanted to say that you have a really cool studyblr!

Heey! Thank you kid! :D

8: what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings?

Artistic and me don’t go together, they just don’t. But I do write and draw and paint on my journal so no one can judge me lol

11: what’s an inner joke you have with your friends?

I pretty much hate inside jokes, but my boyfriend his brother and I have this thing. Every time one of us is talking to an acquaintance or someone we just met, the other two have to go around and say “yaaaay, you’re making new friends aren’t you??” It is so stupid i’m just feeling stupid explaining it…

15: go google a weird space fact and tell us what it is!

Glowing nebulae are named so because they give off a dim, red light, as the hydrogen gas in them is heated by radiation from the nearby stars. There you go!

24: is there someone out there you would trust with every single one of your secrets?

Nnnnnnope, would you?

49: do you like buying CDs and records? what was the last one you bought?

Last record I bought was a Led Zeppelin vynil for my best friend, but I don’t like cd’s and records because I listen to music veeery weirdly, I stuck to one song forever until I hate it.

Neirin + Attic : |

Send me a character name + a room, and I’ll tell you my headcanons:

(Because Neirin changes so much as a character, I’m answering these specifically for a post-Garland Neirin, i.e. how he appears in my “Neirin”/Survive verse)

Attic:

  • What is the character afraid of?

A lot of things. His fear of abandonment is probably the most obvious - at this point in his life Neirin has lost literally everything, and fears losing even more. He has terrible separation anxiety; every time he lets someone leave him, they never come back. He has night terrors that prevent him from sleeping (generally related to memories; more on that in a moment). He panics in large crowds, having gotten unused to them. He fears his own magic in a lot of ways, for a lot of complicated reasons. A lot of things.

  • How do they deal with bad memories?

The best answer for this is “badly.” He’s very prone to PTSD shutdowns or panic attacks, more so now than prior to Garland’s creation. His memories often prevent him from sleeping (he calls them “shadows,” and envisions them as actual physical entities coming to attack him), fueling his chronic insomnia.

  • What is this character’s role in a horror movie?

…Okay in a horror movie Neirin probably would’ve been one of the first to die by virtue of being insufferable.

  • How do they hide their secrets?

…Also just “badly.” He’s very bad at hiding things, and always has been. Neirin is very expressive on a subconscious level; he tends to communicate with his entire body, and often fails to suppress when he has an emotional connection to something. Generally his best defense is absolute denial, and it doesn’t usually work.

  • Which of the Seven Deadly Sins does the character relate to most?

Pride, obviously: so many of Neirin’s problems stem from him being too proud to listen to Kuja or his guardians. But he also resonates with wrath toward the end of Origins: the desire to destroy Taharka and everything he created is a powerful motivator.
