because wealthy

Pay attention. The editorial board of the New York Times is complicit. First they tried to normalize climate change deniers, and now they’re trying to normalize Ivanka Trump’s “alt-feminism

Just because a privileged wealthy white woman calls herself a feminist doesn’t make it true. Faux “Christianity” and white centered “feminism” have always been useful tools to further white supremacy

Guide for the Truth about "High End" Girls

So, for awhile now I keep getting inquiries from various new girls asking how to be “High end” or attract high end clientele. Although, it’s been a combination of experience, business instincts and intuition that keeps me successful, it was definitely superficial and unfair traits I was blessed with that branded me as “upscale”. The cold hard truth is that most women won’t be able to meet the “high end” requirement simply because of competition. The list below is comprised of universally accepted traits that are a prerequisite for ATTRACTING high end clientele.

The industry operates on first impression. The things below are usually the bare minimum traits whereas humor, kindness, intelligence etc. are more like bonuses that can help maintain clients over time AFTER they get to know you. You can’t get to know somebody you don’t even want to open the door to.

1) Youth; the most prime age is 18-25. This is not a hard rule as some women can stay youthful for quite awhile. HOWEVER, this IS the age range your COMPETITION will be.

2) BEAUTY; this is an industry based primarily on attraction. Remember, a man won’t pay to fuck someone unattractive. Although some women may be able to defy the beauty standards by out shining in other traits but those are the anomalies. The hard TRUTH is this industry is most beneficial for girls of traditional or stereotypical beauty.
-Nice teeth: Doesn’t necessarily need to be perfectly straight but does need to be healthy white.
-Clear or nice skin: It radiates youth and is regarded as hygienic. Stretch marks are okay. Not many men will see a problem with it.
-Curves: This is optional because many wealthy men love the fashion editorial look. Don’t be discouraged if you’re more flat.
-Thin: This one is unfortunately one that not many people will be honest about. Whether you have big bouncy curves or not, your waist and overall physique should still be considered thin or toned. There is a fetish for BBW but that is a small pool.
-Well kept hair: Another matter of looking presentable and hygienic.

3) Education; no wealthy and educated man will embarrass himself with a bimbo on his arm when he could afford beauty AND brains. That’s not to say people without degrees can’t trick their audience into thinking otherwise. I know some girls who barely made their GED but managed to self educate and carry themselves in a way they pass as Master graduates. Ladies, learn to read and study for fun.

4) RACE; a very unfortunate and hard truth for the industry. If you’re a black sugar baby, it will be harder for you than your white or Asian counterparts. I’m not sure if it’s because there are more black SW’s or there’s still racism or a combination of the both. This is just something I’ve observed about the competition. There is an overwhelming amount of black and Mexican SW’s in the industry struggling.

5) Schedule flexibility; it will be much harder to make a lucrative career out of high-end SW when you only have a few hours each week. These men are paying high rates for you to accommodate to their needs, not the other way around.

I recognize there are of course women who are the exception to some or all of these traits but I got tired of seeing posts painting a delusion to every young and naive girl that they can pursue a ‘glamorous high end lifestyle’. It is one thing to be a SW and another thing to be a SUCCESSFUL SW where the money is actually worth it. Often times, the mistake is marketing yourself in the wrong image for the wrong clientele. I wanted to be brutally honest because not every woman’s potential money is equal. While the risk is the same, this industry IS easier for some than it is for others.

The more traits a girl has on this list, the higher the POTENTIAL income will be. It is still up to a variety of other factors for the potential to solidify into a tangible number. This is simply a list of traits generally highly sought out by POT’s or clients.

I have met MANY middle-end SW’s who have much better work ethics and business instinct that ended up making a SHIT ton more than a high-end girl.

All in all, don’t be discouraged if you don’t fit many of the traits. Readjust your vision of intended audience and market yourself correctly. Rather than cluelessly not make any money as a small fish in a large pond, be the big fish in a smaller pond. Be realistic and be smart. Go get that money. 💸💸💸

also what the fuck is the deal with liberals saying “LOL DONALD TRUMP ISNT AS RICH AS HE SAYS HE IS!!!!! HAHAHAH!!!!” like who on earth does that hurt exactly??? he’s still rich as fuck and we’re still poor as fuck and he still has basically all the power and we still have basically none of the power. i know there are people out there who think mocking a rich megalomaniacal narcissist for not being as rich as he said he was counts as “resistance” but seriously what exactly is achieved by laughing at a man whose administration is doing and will do horrible things because he’s not as wealthy as he made the world think????

imagine having the fucking audacity to go “this is why people hate tumblr you don’t LISTEN” because someone said it’s shitty that your family owns an 8 year old slave and they’re repulsed you justify it even in passing because it’s “what wealthy people here do”, as if anybody gives a shit. literally go fuck yourself @sixpenceee

i want a plot where MUSE A is a wealthy gorgeous socialite, their mother constantly setting them up with wealthy partners because she doesn’t believe her child can get a partner that she would approve of without her. but MUSE A has a best friend, MUSE B a bartender just barely getting by, whose been with MUSE A through all the heartbreak and annoyance of their mother constantly setting them up with boring dates that only talk about themselves. MUSE B has feelings for MUSE A but doesn’t feel good enough for them/ knows that their mother wouldn’t approve. more or less MUSE A starting to think and wonder why they aren’t dating MUSE B, since they’ve always been there for them and seem to actually like them for more than just their beauty and wealth

Kirishima’s mysterious upbringing

Chapter 139 came out, and it had to give this splendid panel of Kirishima getting angry about the cowardice of their opponent.

I’ve been thinking about Kirishima’s attitude since some times, and wondering how come he was so uptight about manliness, and what manliness was exactly for him. A lot of great theories have already been written here about his hypothetical past and involvement with villains, like this one by red-riot so maybe I’m not bringing anything new at all, but it’s still fun to think about so why not make an other theory anyway. If you don’t agree in the end, you can still take this post as an appreciation post about Kirishima. It’s also what it is, kinda.

Okay so here is what I’m wondering about, what if Kirishima was raised by yakuzas? Here are the reasons why.

1. Yakuzas in My Hero Academia

To begin with, yakuzas in MHA are pretty much extinct, thanks to heroes’ massive rise in society. There are a few who escaped the fate of being arrested during the dismantling of their organizations, and they’re currently living by keeping low profile. If they’re not doing anything, it’s because All for One was keeping control of what was happening in this dark side of society. Here’s what Overhaul is saying about them.

If elders respected All for One, then it means they could have tried to stir things up, but they didn’t. Their downfall didn’t represented their ruin, but only their withdrawal from society. They’re still here, and some are waiting for the occasion to rise again. Therefore, yakuzas probably are what they have always been, and the existence of a young leader such as Overhaul just proves they’re still on the roll. If yakuzas still stick to their traditional organisation, business and values, then Kirishima could very well come from that kinda family.

Kirishima’s involvement in the new arc can invalidate my theory. But after all, yakuzas are keeping a low profile in society. Maybe his family wasn’t involved in fights for power because they’re already wealthy enough and satisfied with their status. Maybe Kirishima either rejected his family or was rejected by it and he’s not informed of what’s going on with them, be it its choice or not. With such a background, a lot of scenarios are possible.

2. About his previous appearance

Following what I said, his previous appearance, his low self-esteem and his trouble finding worth in who he is can support this theory. If he was raised by yakuzas, then, there are a great deal of things that could have happened so Kirishima ended up so down on himself. Maybe the heavy burden of being raised in that sorta environment ended up being too much for him. It’s possible either Kirishima or his family was disappointed because of his “limited” Quirk, causing him to be down on himself for it, thinking he’s after all not good enough to live up to his and his family’s expectations. You can’t be that down on yourself unless you’ve contemplated your insecurities for so long you’re convinced you’re nothing special after all.

Given his previous kinda dark appearance, he must have decided to keep a low profile for a reason or another. Maybe he wants to redeem himself by entering UA and that’s why his appearance changed so much. Maybe he’s trying to find a path for himself and stick to values that his family didn’t recognized in him but he appropriated anyway. There are a great deal of possibilities once you imagine he may come from that kind of strict and demanding environment.

3. Kirishima’s wealthy background

For the technical and more canonically aspect now, remember that suspicious behavior Kirishima had when he brought up his night vision googles during Bakugou’s rescue operation. Midoriya stated it was really expensive, and how a young man such as Kirishima can enter in possession of expensive stuff like that? His entire room in the dorms is also full of enhancing material, which must be just as expensive. And when Midoriya asked how he came to acquire them, he purposely avoided the question. So at least, we can say Kirishima has a wealthy background, unless he’s doing some shady activities himself to get money, but I don’t really stick with this idea. It seems too natural for Kirishima for him to not being used to it. So I do think his family is wealthy, and what would stop him from saying where the money is coming from? Yakuzas aren’t the kind of family you can really talk about. Speaking of unusual things Kirishima seems in fact accustomed to, there are some that also lead to think he’s coming from that kind of social environment. Things such as villain’s behavior, handling responsibilities and questioning authority; things he shouldn’t be as comfortable with as he is for a 15 years old unless he grew up with it.

4. His attitude towards villainous behavior

I really like Kirishima and Bakugou’s relationship because they have great chemistry and, as Midoriya puts it, they’ve built each other as equals through time and hardships. And now, to do that with someone as complex and self-centered as Bakugou, you really need to be comfortable enough to see through his problematic attitude and grasp the best in him to begin with. Bonding with Bakugou was tough, as he must be treated with a lot of caution given he’s quick to feel threatened by others as his mental health’s state is frail. But then, just look how easy it was for Kirishima to befriend him. He’s not intimidated by Bakugou, and act naturally respectfully with him since the beginning, providing comfort to Bakugou and making him feel safe enough to don’t act rude and eventually, making him rely on him. Kirishima is someone who’s very honest and genuine, but the way he acts comfortable around Bakugou, and that villain he’s ready to provide comfort and share his story with also shows he’s used to be around people with unusual and violent behaviors. It’s like he already knows how to handle all kind of people from classmates to teachers, pro heroes and villains. He’s often taking the lead and trying to act while thinking of everyone’s sake. Kirishima gives great importance to the group, and naturally always thinks about their cohesion as this core that must stick together. Even when he’s reflecting about his Quirk, what he asks is how he can keep up with everyone else.

The fact that he wants to keep up is probably due to the fact he was already left behind before because he couldn’t meet other expectations. Once more, it’s like this attitude is something not only natural to him, but also something that was cultivated during his upbringing.

5. Kirishima and the sense of responsibility

Kirishima is also incredibly responsible for someone of his age. It first appeared quite early, at USJ when he realized he was in Number 13′s way and wanted to take responsibility for his acts.

Not only he’s kind and considerate, but he’s also ready to take responsibility for others’ behaviors too and call them out when they’re crossing the line. There are a lot, lot of examples where Kirishima interferes in situations that are worsening in front of him even if he’s not involved to begin with.

Once again, he’s thinking of him and others as a group who must stay united, and he’s acting as a leader who’s trying to keep everyone together. In chapter 139, the way he flames up and shouts “A real man would never push all the responsibility on his henchman and escape!!” really makes you wonder. He takes it quite personally, as he’s the only one to react with strong emotions like that, and I think that consideration for “henchmen”, people you are responsible for as a leader, is something he maybe acquired by growing up in an environment that promotes that kind of behavior, as the heir of a family that watches over a whole clan, such as the yakuzas. It was slightly occurring to me before, and now I can’t help but find it suspicious how he’s taking personally the way a leader behaves with their henchmen, and how carefully Hori makes sure to show it so we can’t ignore it.

6. What being manly means to him

Last but not least, Kirishima accords great importance to a manly behavior. Now that word he’s always using is interesting. He doesn’t use “manly” in a way to oppose gender and prone masculinity, but more to scoop up different values and embody them as a whole he’s considering the most honorable behavior. All of these values he’s defending and trying to incarnate really make me thinks of those yakuzas have. Being true to your words (and furthermore pledges), being trustworthy and loyal, respecting hierarchy, knowing your place but also how to deal with authority… Authority is something Kirishima also seems comfortable with. He’s very kind, respectful and thoughtful, he’ll even apologize for others’ behavior, but he’ll trespass rules it if he judges it needs to be done. He wasn’t really worried to break the law when he suggested to go and rescue Bakugou. After that, he only felt guilty when Aizawa pointed out he felt betrayed and it would take time for his trust to be restored; that’s when he feels the more guilty, because breaking that trust is worse than breaking the law.

Even if he respects authority, he’s ready to question it and act based on his own will because sometimes, there are more important things, such as rescuing and protecting people you care about. Midoriya and Todoroki also did it when they fought Stain, but it happened because of Iida’s wrath. Kirishima deliberately choose to do it. The fact that the whole class was opposed to the idea emphasizes how Kirishima’s decision was unexpected for someone of the hero course. And again, the way he gets angry about the so-called loyalty of the leader that’s escaping just demonstrates his perception of what being manly, being a leader means and the importance he’s giving to it. It means to be trustworthy, inspiring, reliable, considerate towards members of your group and ready to fight to protect them and keep everyone together. Everything Kirishima embodies as a manly behavior really makes me think about yakuzas values and traditional organisation as a family you’re responsible for and must protect.

Well, there are a lot of thought provoking elements about Kirishima’s attitude, and I find his involvement in this new arc quite fishy. I can be totally wrong, but I still think this attitude and the lack of information about his past hide something important and related to villains, even if it’s not yakuzas. Well, at least it would still make an interesting plot for a fanfic I guess.

Trope-Tastic: Tadashi + 2. Fake dating/married turns into real dating.

“We’re best friends, right?” Tadashi asked you, swiveling around in his desk chair to face you.

“Of course we are!” You said, looking up from one of his old comic books.

“So that means we do huge favors for one another if they need them, right?” He asked, giving you one of his sweetest smiles.

You put down the book and got off his bed. “What are you up to, Hamada?”

“Nothing bad!” He reassured.

“Uh huh, sure. Out with it, then. What’s going on?” You pressed, both curious and a little scared.

“Well…my second cousin Hana is getting married, and Cass, Hiro and I were invited.” Tadashi explained.

“Okay…?” You said, still unsure of what that had to do with you.

“I was, um, I was hoping you’d come with me as my plus one and…pretend to be my girlfriend.” He asked, sheepishly.

“What? Why?”

“Last year at the family reunion, Great Aunt Martha and Cousin Agatha were trying to set me up their friends’ and neighbors’ granddaughters and stuff. I want to avoid that as best I can. Plus, I want you to meet my family.” He explained with an apologetic smile.

“Isn’t this a little extreme? Can’t you just say you don’t want to be set up with anyone?” You asked.

“You haven’t met Great Aunt Martha. It’s impossible. It’ll be really fun, I promise. Food, dancing, a weekend away, you love all that. Please?” He pleaded, grabbing your hands and giving you his best puppy stare.

Keeping your best poker face, you considered the offer for a moment. He made a great point about you loving weddings, but…would you be able to stand it? Keeping your feelings for Tadashi hidden had become hard enough since the day you realized you loved him. You weren’t entirely confident you could make it the weekend without getting caught up in the whole thing and ending up hurt.

anonymous asked:

I also live under the system that you claim is so horrible. Is your sister a US citizen? I'm American and my mother pays for the healthcare of all three of us and she's never had a problem. We are not rich. There's a lot of shit going on in the U.K. with the labor party and parliament right now that you should be focused on. There's a show called BBC question time in case you don't follow the politics of your own country. ☺️

Thank you for your concern, anon, but it’s unnecessary. I’m a law student—ergo, I am neck deep in British politics already, so your recommendation about Question Time while appreciated, is really redundant. Surprisingly, people have no problem being concerned about and discussing domestic and international politics. We have learned to juggle that, because even American domestic politics tend to have international consequences. Remember that time the Republican Party played chicken with the debt ceiling in an attempt to destroy funding for Obamacare and that jittered global financial markets? Yeah. I also happen to study public international law and human rights law, and the way economic and social rights like the right to healthcare are understood globally is part of my course, so pardon my interest in the ongoing attempt to repeal Obamacare.

1. Well, to answer your question, my sister is not an American citizen; but all the same she’s lived under that system. She had to enrol onto a health plan as a university student studying in the US. When she needed medication and vaccinations, it was expensive as hell; she had to pay it out of pocket on top of the premium because for some reason or another that drug wasn’t covered. Both of us had prior to lived under some form of universal healthcare, and she never had to fork out so much money for health care and medication before. In short, she’s in the US on a student visa—it’s not a case where she failed to purchase insurance. Obamacare has tried to improve the situation but healthcare costs are still seriously inflated compared to other systems she has lived under. Maybe you think that’s normal- my sister will tell you it’s not.

2. And if you noticed, in that post I wrote comparing health outcomes and spending between the US and other systems of universal healthcare—unlike you, I’m not under the illusion that anecdotal experiences alone are good rebuttals. I posted charts and links from data and studies which demonstrated time and again that you guys are spending far more on healthcare per capita than practically every other wealthy developed country without better life expectancy, health outcomes or the ability to guarantee access to those unable to pay. I didn’t merely rely on my own experience of the NHS’ single-payer system when responding to someone who was baldly asserting that healthcare in the EU & those other Asian countries with universal healthcare ‘paled’ in comparison to the US, and who was ludicrously claiming we were coming over in droves to enjoy this fantastic health care. It is curious that you think ‘I’m American, my mother pays for the healthcare for all three of us, and she’s never had a problem’ is an answer to that—hell, you don’t even have to listen to me.

3. You are telling me all those criticisms levelled by your fellow Americans at your country’s healthcare system are all imaginary, merely because you personally have no problem with healthcare? Honestly, if you have no problems with your healthcare I’m glad. Healthcare is not something anybody should ever go bankrupt over. I’m aware that different states have different rules, and some have done a good job with making ACA work. I hope that is the case for you. But all the same- if there’s nothing wrong with your system, why is everyone continuing to rework it- including the Republicans? The ACA tried to improve it but it’s still unfinished. The US is a system where you can have the best healthcare in the world if you are wealthy because of how much medical R&D goes on- but the worst in the developed world if you are poor and unemployed. And that’s the measure that matters- how those who are the most vulnerable are treated.

4. And I’ve to ask if you have ever seriously had your health coverage tested. You never quite know how much your health coverage is worth until there is a medical emergency. And that’s exactly what I mean. My family would be paying through the nose for cancer medication if we were American, because that particular drug costs over $100,000 per year in the United States even though it is years out of its patent thanks to the failure of the US government to take a sledgehammer to inflated drug prices and medical costs. And I haven’t even mentioned the long hospitalisation that family member had after 3 surgeries to remove a recurring tumour, not to mention all the follow up check-ups, blood tests and MRI scans to ensure it doesn’t come back. Universal healthcare saved his life, and also saved all of us a whole lot of stress because being sick is bad enough, let alone worrying about whether you can pay. Yeah, I am glad he is not American. Because he got sick way before the ACA banned rejecting people for pre-existing conditions and tried to better regulate abuse of the market. Maybe people will call this ‘free-loading’, but you know what? Prior to his illness, when he was younger and healthier—he had been a taxpayer contributing his bit to the social safety net with the understanding that everyone contributes to the system that we all need to use someday.

5. This is what happens when pharmaceutical companies can donate to candidates because there aren’t campaign spending limits or prohibitions on corporate donations. These things are either outright illegal or heavily regulated in other developed countries for good reason that you don’t want these corporations writing our healthcare laws. Additionally, practically every other developed country has aggressively acted to combat price inflation in the health industry, often by having governments use their massive bargaining power representing millions of healthcare users bargain down the price of drugs, or government regulations requiring publication of procedure costs across the board to identify price gouging. You should do a comparison of the cost of US medical procedures—they are frequently multiple times that of other wealthy countries offering the same quality. Can you look at this chart and tell me it’s acceptable? There’s more where it came from!

6. With single-payer healthcare in the UK, nobody has to go bankrupt because of a health emergency, nobody has to have their kids’ lives disrupted to make ends meet because the risk is spread out amongst millions of people. Healthcare coverage is also completely detached from employment, so coverage doesn’t depend on having a job, employers don’t have to expend money figuring out coverage and employees are mobile. Sounds like a good thing for the economy, no? Is our system perfect? Hell no! Healthcare is always a complex issue. But we have achieved all of this at a lower cost than the US healthcare system. And single-payer isn’t even the only system out there- Germany and Singapore are two examples of countries that have a mixed system of public and private insurance to cover everybody. Every other wealthy country has figured this out for decades. If the GOP can’t come up with a solution, it’s not because there aren’t dozens of real-life models running for decades to choose from.

So, maybe take your own advice. Do your fellow Americans a favour and follow the politics of your own country more closely. Especially when the latest GOP bill would magnify the worst problems of the ACA and probably even destroy health insurance markets and creates a perverse incentive not to buy healthcare if you unfortunately lapsed for 2 months. It might even affect your present health insurance. Maybe even read up more on how other countries do it and realise the inflated costs still plaguing the system are unacceptable, inasmuch as ACA tried to help. And yeah, I stand by what I said. It’s terrible the most powerful country in the world and engine of the global economy doesn’t guarantee its citizens the healthcare they deserve.

Thank you, society, I will now go to bed and actively try not to feel bad about a coinflip voting result that happened 1,000 miles away because people in a wealthy district in a Southern state are fairly tolerant of politicians that make crazy bigoted statements about gay people, but EVEN BETTER than that are all the hot takes that the ultra-leftists have saved for this moment to rub in all our faces, putting more work into that than helping a regular dude get elected over a homosexual-bashing monster. And they’re sure a guy born in 1941 is gonna win an election in 2020.

Yay! Everyone drink bleach!

The Puzzle Pieces (Jumin x MC)

Shortly after the wedding, you finally agree to an interview.

Word Count: 836

I haven’t got much to say other than I hope you enjoy and have a fantastic day! Thank you!

————————————————————————————————————–

“You don’t have to do this you know,” Jumin hummed as you adjusted your clothes hurriedly. “I know they’ve been bothering you a lot but-”

You pressed a quick kiss to his nose, giving a small smile. “I agreed to do this. I’ll just tell the truth.”

The reporter waited excitedly outside Jumin’s office, surely numerous cameras and such surrounding them.

“Are you sure? I don’t want your words to get twisted or anything. I know how rough the press can be sometimes darling.”

“I’m okay with this, really.” You chuckled. “I’ll end it if it gets out of hand. I promise.”

“Alright,” Your husband sighed, running his fingers through his hair. “I suppose we should let them in.”

You nodded, walking to the door, opening it to reveal the reporter.

His eyes lit up at the sight of the two of you, sloppily attempting to fix his messy auburn hair as he rushed forward to greet you.

“Hi! My name is Yeong Yi. It’s a pleasure to meet you both!”

The two of you shook his hand, his fingertips clamping onto yours like a steel trap.

“My editor nearly lost it when he heard we were going to be interviewing you two! You’re pretty popular right now, you know.”

Jumin frowned slightly, folding his lips.

It had been hard not to notice it, people crowding you both nearly the moment you stepped outside.

“Yes well, that’s very flattering. Thank you.”

“No, no. Thank you! This is going to get me major credit!” He shrugged, ushering you both to sit down. “Anyways let’s get to the questions!”

You nodded, Jumin sitting beside you without a word, entwining your hand with his.

“So…how did you guys meet?”

You glanced to Jumin, thinking of how to phrase it.

“It was…purely accidental. We just ran into each other’s lives and never really wanted to leave I guess!”

“Some are surprised…I heard it was a pretty complicated situation at first.”

“My father wanted an arranged marriage to appeal to his partner at the time. I did not,” Your husband stated. “looking back now I’m especially glad of these events. It led me to find something far better.”

“And what’s that?”

He gave your hand a squeeze, running a tender thumb over your knuckles.

“The love of my life.”

Yeong nodded, glancing at you. “What did you think of all the events?”

“They were…surprising,” You laughed softly as memories flooded through your head, seemingly ages ago. “I wasn’t expecting it. But I’m glad it happened. I found joy.”

“How would you describe your first encounter with each other?”

“A bit…tense.” You snickered. “But we warmed up to each other quickly.”

“You did?”

“Think of connecting puzzle pieces,” Jumin answered, earnest drenched in his words. “I had always felt as thought I was missing something, never had I felt legitimately complete.”

He sighed softly, grinning warmly towards you. “But then when MC came into my life, it came together.” He let out a small breath of disbelief. “I feel, complete knowing they’re by my side.”

“Really?”

“While I will admit that my life was full of wealth and comfort, to assume that jus because I am wealthy my life hasn’t had any difficulties is absurd.”

“How would you describe your life?” Yeong raised a curious brow, leaning forward.

“Lonely and cold,” He replied with certainty. “Only when MC entered my life did I ever know what it was like to step into the sun.”

“What do you mean?”

“When MC came into my life I felt like I was truly understood. For the first time in years I smiled, and I laughed. I felt like a genuine person. I feel true happiness.”

He peered close to you, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Everyday I’m more amazed that I’ve been gifted with them in my life.”

You curled your fingers through his hair, beaming. “I would ask the very same thing about you.”

Yeong stood up, grinning in a content manner. “I think I’ve gotten all I need,” He gave you both one last handshake, much lighter than before. “Thank you.”

“Of course,” You waved goodbye as he left. “Have a lovely day.”

And as the door shut Jumin stood up and pulled you into his arms, your head resting in the crook of his neck.

“Thank you for staying darling,” He cooed, holding you as if you were lighter than a feather. “Thank you so much.”

“I wouldn’t change it for the world.” You assured him, staring upwards. “I promise.”

And you both knew without a doubt that your words were true.

For your puzzles were intertwined.

And sincerely happy, together.

Humans are weird

I have been reading a lot of the Space Australian/humans are space orcs threads, and something that occurred to me was a human trying to explain a crusade.

Some alien races would most likely understand more than others in reference to classism, racism, or species-ism (referencing slavery, thinking that one is better than the other due to being wealthy or because of their skin color), but explaining why we killed each other in the thousands-if not millions!-because of religion? Over which “invisible dude in the sky” was the right one and condemning all others as heretics and to the pits of hell? What if their race were pacifists, or there was a galactic rule enforced by painful memories that no crusades were to happen again (due to loss of life, resources, etc.).

It might be even more confusing if other races do not have religion, or just have one religion. The fact that there are five to six major religions, then you have all of the “minor” ones. Not to mention the people who are spiritual or who consider themselves Pagan (or other forms of witchcraft)-or even Satanists!

Then trying to explain atheists/agnostics and how Christianity took over some Pagan symbolism…

‘So, HC(human crew member) Lily, I was reading the Earth Pamphlet section on religion. Exactly how many are there? My thought process is very confused about this.“

“Oh yeah, that’s right, you guys don’t have more than one religion on Twa'Lesh, right? Well, I am not sure how it all got started, but yeah, we have multiple ones. The three major ones even have some of the same figures that are revered as holy men, and hold the same place as being holy.”

Leshkuu scratched his head with a long finger. “I had read that, but then I saw the section on what you humans call…” -his fingers quickly found the marked page - “a crusade?”

Lily nodded, seeing where this was going and getting mentally prepared for the questions, and in this case, some racially held beliefs regarding war and peace from the being in front of her. “Yes we did, and more than one.”

Leshkuu’s face held disbelief at the confirmation from his human crew member. “Mother of Space!” The phrase ripped from his mouth without thought. “All because they disagreed with each other???” Leshkuu’s head spines quivered with dismay and shock at the mere thought of that much loss of life.

Lily shifted on her feet and reached up the three feet to pat Leshkuu on the side of his shoulder (a good three feet above her head). “I know how it looks. Most of us don’t like it either.” She looked up at the Twa'Leshian, who looked to the humans like a Marsh-Wiggle from the Silver Chair Narnia book (with a more positive outlook on life) with some porcupine quills out of their heads like a human’s hair, and no hand webbing.

“But why?!???” He stuttered. Lily shrugged and replied with, “There is no good answer. Each religion thought that their God was the right one and all others were heathens doomed to Hell.”

After a long conversation, Leshkuu was left with a profound sense of discomfort, a slight headache, and a sense of fear. No wonder the warnings for humans where like they were. Another warning book had been given to their leaders to discuss and dissemination to any person who might even have a slight chance at meeting a Terran. It was whispered that the warning book went to most non Terran races as a guidebook of most Terran behaviors and some personal experiences from those with the First Contacts. And of course, most had heard about the pack bonding instincts (referencing the ‘Stabby’ incident) and the defeated races who thought that, due to their physiology (or relative status on the food chain, despite knowing that they became the apex species on their death planet), that Terrans would be an easy race to defeat, are now almost extinct or exclusively within their own home galaxies due to their miscalculated endeavors.

Now Leshkuu had the glimmering of an understanding why that was in place. To kill thousands over a difference in belief or melanin content in their skins, or conquering a nation for their spices…his skin shuddered with those thoughts. He was glad that HC Lily was on board as their Terran expert and lab technician. Who knows what mistakes he might have made!

Friendly reminder that Jin is NOT some stereotypical “rich kid”

There have always been many signs that Jin was pretty well-off. And now that we know his father is a CEO, guess what? IT DOESN’T CHANGE ANYTHING. I just came from Twitter and see all these arguments and whatnot about this new info. Lemme tell you all something. Jin coming from a rich family doesn’t change anything. He is humble af; don’t agree? Then it’s your loss. He may be confident in his handsome looks, but trust me. He’s being playful about it. He ain’t narcissistic, people. Also, have you heard him brag about how rich he is? Nah fam, he hasn’t. We love Jin for who he is and not just because he’s a “rich kid”. He is the most down-to-earth, humble, funny, sweet and caring guy. Let his interactions and relationship with the other members speak for that. Now what is really getting me riled up for some reason is that people have chosen to take this new info and turn Jin into your stereotypical rich kid. They’re doing it as jokes, but to me, it’s a pretty tasteless joke. Call me sensitive or a killjoy, but I think it’s putting Jin in a negative light. Why? It’s insinuating that 1) Jin cannot relate to the rest of the boys and 2) Jin is spoiled and has a somewhat condescending aura. Of course, we know that THAT IS FALSE. But what if there are new ARMYs who might not see it as a joke, thus they’ll see Jin in this negative light. Or what if, just think about this, some stupid and dense antis could use this as ammo to hate on Jin. You see? I want you all to know that Jin went through what the other Bangtan members also went through. THEY GOT THROUGH EVERYTHING TOGETHER. I REPEAT. TOGETHER.  And please…don’t get me started on the crap that Jin is just good for his money because if you think like that, then please, leave. The door is open. We don’t need shallow people who think like that in this fandom.

In summary, Jin may have a CEO father and may come from a wealthy family, but it doesn’t change the fact that he is a down-to-earth, humble, funny, caring, kind, talented, freaking generous and simple guy who deserves his place in Bangtan not because he’s wealthy, but because of who he is as a person. He deserves his place in Bangtan because he worked just as hard as the rest of them and went through everything they went through. PLUS HE’S REALLY SMART, HARD-WORKING, DEDICATED AND RESPONSIBLE.

I will not apologize for another Jin rant because I will do and say whatever I feel to defend and protect the loveable Kim Seokjin.

A Guide to Writing: Wars

In most forms of media, there are wars that are waged. Usually started from the bad guys because of some goal. Money, power, a diluted sense of right and wrong because without a goal in mind war is senseless carnage with lives thrown away for nothing.

Depending on what type of story your writing and the type of message you’re trying to get across, you need to know the beginning, middle, and/or end. With each of these parts of the war, you need to know the five W’s and H: who, what, where, when, why, and how.

Beginning

Who is the person/persons responsible for the war? There is always going to be some responsible for something happening. It could very well be a chain of events that started from something small. It could be a ruler looking for something more. It could the citizens wanting something better.

What is the reason behind it? There will always be a reason behind something this large scale unless the person behind said war is just interested in senseless carnage. The reason could be an issue that had been present and apparent but one event sparked the need to change something. It could be something kept secret from the people until it was too late or the citizen causing the war themselves.

Where did this start/take place? This is a question that needs to be answered because where it starts can dictate the direction of the war. If this war starts in one country, it could devastate that country and its people. If it’s a civil war then each side could very well take an environmental hit.

When did this happen? If the war is something that has already passed, then knowing when it happened relative to when the story starts is important. For example, the American Civil War happened over 150 years ago, but the effects of that way of thinking are still apparent. It feels like it happened a long time ago, put when put into perspective of the world’s history, it’s still relatively recent. Don’t forget that when figuring the time frame of the war.

Why did the person/persons believe that their reasons were valid? Everyone likes to believe that everything they do is perfectly reasonable…but sometimes they’re not. Something like the royalty still rolling in wealth while the country is actually broke is definitely something to riot over. The wealthy upset because they happen to be taxed a bit more than usual? Not so much. However, just because the reason doesn’t seem particularly valid, that doesn’t meant there can’t be a war over it.

How is this war possible? If this is a civil war then, depending on who is fighting whom, what makes this feasible? Are the people hoarding their weapons? Did they make their own secret form of government? And regardless of who is waging the war and why, wars are expensive. How is it being paid for and by whom?

Middle

Who is fighting? All wars are fought with people risking their lives. Whether it’s the actual soldiers on the front lines or the general giving orders from HQ. Knowing who did the fighting and who did the planning and the more detailed parts of the plans will help with a better understanding of who that are and what they are doing.

What are they using to fight? This is super hella important and very much depends on the universe in which the story takes place. If the story takes place in a magical world, the type of magic that’s used needs to be clear and clearly defined. That’s not to say some things can’t be left to the reader, though. If it takes place in a world like ours, then things are kinda of already set, just adding a few things to specify is really all it would take.

Where are they fighting? This also depends on what type of universe they story is in. Is it like this world where battles were fought in open fields or more like Harry Potter where they’re fought in important places?

When, relative to the time frame of the story, are they fighting? The events of the war are what people actually remember most. When were the important events that happened and when did they happen between the beginning and the end of the war? When did the most important battles happen?

Why are the people who are fighting, fighting? Everyone will have their own reasons for fighting. To keep their fathers/mothers/brothers/sister/siblings away from the fight. Out a sense of obligations. They have something precious that they want to protect. Not everyone’s motives need to be pure or accounted for, except for when they are needed to be.

How are they fighting? People have different and varied methods of fighting. Some people fight with classical weapons. Some people fight with modern weapons. There’s magic and sorcery and a mix of each of these. If this war is something that happened in the past relative to the narrative, then specify whether or not the method of fighting is something that has grown out of style of something that is still practiced.

End

Who won? Obvious and important question to answer. History books are dictated by the victors and consequently so is the future. If your state/providence/country or whatever has ever made a mistake then maybe you learned about it. Maybe it was something that was taught because it needed to be but wasn’t told in full detail. Or maybe it was something you found out because of the internet and it was never taught in schools. It’s these kind of things that this question will answer.

What was the deciding battle/engagement? Not all wars end in an epic battle of good vs evil no matter how riveting it is. Not everyone can be Avatar: The Last Airbender. A lot of wars end with peace treaties even if hostilities between the two sides still endure. However, the battles can always end in an epic battle but always be aware of the repercussions battles like that can create.

Where was the battle won? This can also mean a lot to the narrative. A lot of battle grounds are persevered or made into memorials for the people who gave their lives there. Do these battle grounds matter to the people that come after the war or are they just land that happened to have a battle fought on them?

When, relative to the start of the war, does it end? If the war ends close to the start of the story then the repercussions are still extremely fresh in everyone’s minds. If this is still a ways away then think of the consequences that will come from the war. If it’s so long ago that at least ten generations have passed, then the consequences would be different.

Why did the battle/arrangement end the war? There are lots of ways to end a war and it’s difficult to decide how. Each potential ending could alter how others view the people who won/lost the war.

How has the aftermath effected all those who fought? The victor writes history but the victors are not always the ones to be treated with grace and fairness. Take AtLA for example, the Fire Nation won loads of battles after that started to the war, but they’ve managed to make enemies of every other nation. People of small town and cities will be affected differently than the people who are more wealthy.

(requested by @skijumping-stuff)

Dirk Thiele: Dear viewers of Avia tv, we say hello from the Sauerland in the spa hotel where team Germany is hosted since years and when Andreas Wellinger stayed in Willingen, he didn’t sleep somewhere else as well, right?

Andreas Wellinger: Yes, I always stay here. For the 5th time, just one time I had to intermit.

DT: So last night you got renamed?

AW: Yeah, more or less. They made little pun, made Willingen to Wellinger.

DT: They made Wellinger to Willinger.

AW: Yeah, whatever. Anyway I’m kind of native now.
