because this makes sense show

The final season of Samurai Jack had a time skip and it was awesome regardless. The fans want closure, no matter how long it takes. Speaking of Season Six... I'd like a Starfire centric arc, with Robin being a supporting character and a BBRae subplot in the same vein as Spellbound. One can dream, eh?

I get that, I do. But I feel like the TTG comics that came out afterwards were supposed to continue off where the show ended?

I just don’t see a point to a season six anymore. It’s been over ten years.

I’d rather not have a time skip or a total change in tone (because it wouldn’t make sense for them to change aspects of the show suddenly now). I just want a reboot at this point. New, fresh, still with the spirit of the old cartoon maybe, but a bit more faithful to the tone of the comics. One can argue the DCAU does that, but obviously, I want OG TT, so like NTT or Tim Drake’s team (not N52). No stupid de-aging, and that we actually get a proper Starfire arc. Preferably avoiding the Judas Contract/Trigon story entirely (it’s been DONE).

Also, despite me being BBRae trash, it’s just not plausible in the cartoon to suddenly happen in S6.

BBRae is a slowburn progression, and it requires a LOT of maturity and growth from BOTH Beast Boy and Raven before it even stands a chance. So, to your S6, I’d say maybe by S9, lol. So long as character growth and maturation STICKS this time around (hence why I would prefer a reboot, because it’s just not likely with the way the original was written). I’m also pretty sure it was stated that the creators didn’t want them aged up throughout the seasons, which is a double-edged sword, imo.

Anyways, closure or no, I’m over it by now. I know there will always be people who want a S6, and that’s fine. If we ever get one, great! Amazing!

But, I’m not holding my breath and, at this point, a reboot seems like an easier choice.

  • Quentin: wow the stars are beautiful tonight
  • Eliot: yeah they are
  • Quentin: you know who else is beautiful though?
  • Eliot: *blushes* who
  • Quentin: Fillory.

Like, why are we supposed to be on the Inhuman Royal Family’s side? They are objectively bad people, who are reinforcing the status quo and are like super racist against humans.

Also, the status quo involves throwing kids into the mines for the rest of their lives, and living in a rigid class structure, where the only means of social mobility is to to get a great Terragenesis (otherwise, it’s to the mines with you!) or to marry the king.

Seriously, no wonder Maximus got so much buy-in from the guards when he was like, “Have we considered not doing this?”

It’s interesting because Star Wars continues to evolve and George when watching that scene, he really liked it, but then he went “Uhhh, we have to take that scene out.” “Why, George?” “Because the Sith can’t become ghosts. That’s not what they do. They’re so concerned with their corporeal existence, and wealth, and power that they can’t think beyond that. They don’t think about the afterlife. That’s why they’re all afraid to die. That’s why they’re always trying to figure out how to cheat death.” […] So that scene was cut. But that’s the cool thing about The Clone Wars. It’s the last George Lucas produced Star Wars. And there’s so much you can learn about that mythology by watching that show very carefully.

au: high school story is a tv show

inspired by the lovely @zahranamazis au where endless summer is a tv show and other choices blogs au’s from other choices books. i loooove this au, it’s so much fun to write!:

  • all the cast members are over 20 y/o so none of them are teens even if they’re playing ones
  • fans are shocked when they see them drinking or at clubs because of this
  • the actor who plays max is around 26-27 but because of his rugged appearance people think he’s over 40 or something lol
  • ‘’he doesn’t even go here’’ brian jokes when max is shooting a scene
  • the show is shot during summer when classes are out in a real high school in california
  • awesomeness tv produces the show
  • the actress who plays emma originally auditioned for the role of MC but she was so nervous that the casting directors thought she was perfect for the character of emma instead
  • the high school story red shirts are actually merch that the cast wears almost all the time off set
  • sydney does her own cheerleading stunts because she was a cheerleader throughout her high school years irl
  • wes was supposed to be short haired but the actor who plays him had long hair when he auditioned and they immediately changed that in the script
  • the whole cast has their own group snapchat, every day a cast member takes over the account to show fans ‘a day in their life’

  • mia and ezra are the biggest cheaters, according to the rest of the cast
  • ‘‘it’s called a strategy’‘ is something that mia always says to defend herself from the accusations
  • aiden doesn’t know how to play any instruments in real life, but he had to take a few piano lessons to at least make it look a bit real on the show
  • they freak out when endless summer is mentioned to them in interviews because they LOVE the show and watch it all together
  • ‘’zahra and craig are our biggest otp’’ payton and nishan reveal
  • ‘’aren’t grace and aleister dating in real life?’’ caleb asks the mc, getting completely carried away from the interview
  • michael revealing he asked the costume team to give him a green bomber jacket in honor of jake mckenzie’s character
  • the cast totally freaking out  that the show got renewed for a second season!!

Here’s what I noticed when I was rewatching episode 2 of s3:

Red only opened up to Lance when Keith, Hunk and Pidge were starting to get outnumbered. If Lance was truly meant for Red, he wouldn’t have to be waiting around so long to convince Blue to open up for him. Red should’ve called out to Lance immediately. Instead, it took Keith taking damage to his lion, and repeatedly calling out to Lance for Red to actually open up and call out to Lance, as well. Almost as if Red was just mirroring what her paladin (Keith) wanted.

My point here? Red still shares a bond with Keith, and the reason Red opened up for Lance was because Keith was literally calling out to Lance in the midst of battle, which is why when Lance was like ‘maybe I’m not meant to be a paladin’ Red roared because no, Lance cannot be thinking that way right now when Keith clearly needs Lance with him on the field. So I see Red’s roar roughly as ‘listen, I know you have things to deal with but my son out there is taking damage and he needs on you on the field, so help me god you’re going to fucking get inside and come with me and help me protect my son.’

because literally this makes more sense than the bullshit explanation the show itself gave us. Because Allura has always been supportive of Keith as the leader. If that was the only criteria for Red to choose a paladin, it could’ve just as easily been Allura. But no, instead, Red, in true Red fashion, waited till the very moment Keith was in danger to open up to a new paladin. And of course Red chose the paladin Keith was repeatedly calling out to.

It’s similar to why Black opened up to Keith the first time, and now. It’s because Keith and Black were both doing this for Shiro. Similarly, Red and Lance’s goals line up. They both want to help Keith.

So in conclusion, I really don’t think Lance and Keith’s lion switches are permanent. It just doesn’t feel right to me. It really, really doesn’t. It’s also why we didn’t see Lance and Keith bonding with their new lions respectively. Something about them being in those lions feels way too temporary.

Because Keith and Red’s bond is too strong for Lance to permanently be Red’s Paladin. I genuinely think Red is just a stepping stone for Lance. And if somehow I’m wrong about all of this, I’m going to be extremely mad because it’s shitty writing if Lance is permanently the Red Paladin, and I’ll be convinced that the crew hates him.

i really just kinda miss tøp

If you still need prompts to keep you sane maybe fluffy fantasy au enjoltaire? (Idk if you've seen the siren Enjolras and nymph grantaire posts but you can do something along those lines if you want it's up to you) thank you for literally everything you've written because it's amazing and thanks in advance!

I have indeed seen (and loved!) @stopcallingmeapollo‘s myth au! Which actually made it rather a puzzle to come up with my own… But that gave me an excuse to daydream about folklore for days, so thank you so much anon, for your incredibly kind words as well! I hope you’ll like this <3

( @petalparnassee you have given me fresh Scottish lore and now look what happened:)

Grantaire is lying on his stomach on a flat rock that rises just above sea level, his lower half still comfortably in the foamy water. It’s early in the morning yet, the wisps of mist that drew  from the sea towards the shore have barely dissolved. Through the faint haze that is still left Grantaire sees a shape approaching. It’s a black stallion and the gate of his hooves is like poetry itself. Blinking lazily Grantaire watches him approach the shore. He is too familiar with the elegant movements and the proud demeanour to be impressed. The cobbles on the beach skit away or are trampled under the gleaming black hooves and the horse charges straight into the water. Grantaire doesn’t bother to watch the proud head disappear underneath the waves. A moment later there’s a splash of water beside the rock he is resting on and two pale hands grip the edge. Montparnasse pulls himself up out of the water, his dark hair wet and slick against his head.

“Show off,” Grantaire hums.

“Good morning to you too,” Montparnasse snarks. He sits down with his legs crossed.

In the grey light of morning his skin looks even paler than it is, but Grantaire knows the lighting doesn’t matter. Montparnasse will always be annoyingly beautiful.

His grey eyes are staring of into the distance. “I saw someone walking towards the shore,” he says nonchalantly.

Grantaire makes an exasperated sound. “I swear, if I have to rescue one more of your stupid victims I’m telling Jehan.”

Montparnasse makes a tutting sound. “This one isn’t really my type,” he says airily.

“That’ll be a first,” Grantaire grunts. He splashes his heavy tail in the water, making Montparnasse glare.

He ignores the insult however and continues casually: “Too blonde for a start… To loud… To interested in you.”

Grantaire gulps and nearly rolls off the rock.

Montparnasse’s distinctive kelpie laugh sounds loud and neighing across the water.

Enjolras is on his way here?” Grantaire splutters. “Why didn’t you just say that, you ass.”

Everyone is promoting this season as funny and sexy and honestly I’m soooo tired of it. When will they realize that the only thing we want is for the characters to have ACTUAL and ADULT conversations and solve their problems since they have a lot to figure out and THEN we can have funny and sexy. Seriously Jackson and April, Alex and Jo and Owen and Amelia haven’t talked to each other all 13b 🙄 but sure let’s have 38474839394 love triangles.

i have plenty thoughts on lance’s vlog but i’m going to paint my new house today and then the weekend should be hectic with finishing up moving into it. sooo idk when i’ll be able to sit down and type everything up. any posts from me will be from my queue.

The Final Problem is bad and boring and here is why

I had to rewatch TFP yesterday (IN GERMAN!) with a bunch of friends. I hadn’t watched it after it aired in January, and it had developed into some kind of uber-evil episode for me. Because it ruined the whole show for me. Because it didn’t make any sense. I remembered it as tense and brutal. But, you know what - it isn’t. It’s just really, really boring and very badly done.

Because:

Do yourself a favour and watch the Why Sherlock is Garbage video. Watch the whole of it, especially the first hour. Because there he explains why Mofftiss are really bad writers for television. One point in their favour I see over and over again is that Mofftiss couldn’t suddenly have forgotten how to write good telly, therefore Sherlock, especially S4, and especially TFP, must have a deeper meaning, are fake, a social experiment, whatever. Just: NO! This argument crashes - because they are really bad writers. They are very good at coming over as clever for a while - but in the end it’s revealed that there is nothing behind all the suspense they are building, that all their arcs lead nowhere, that nothing means anything or has any consequences. The guy explains this by analysing DW and Jekyll - and you find all of this in Sherlock as well. Like, they constantly up the ante - but with no plan or goal in mind, just for the sake of it. Or that the most important moments of the stories happen off screen. Or that they don’t follow the basic rule of show, don’t tell. Or that they never explore their characters’ motivations. We never learn why people do anything on this show. I will talk about this later. Those are basic writing skills! And they just throw them overboard. Which is not a very good idea.

Me, spewing an angry rant, below the cut.

“It’s one of these moments where you see Alex, one by one, having to cross this road and see how people react,” Leigh says. “She hasn’t seen him in over a decade and, ‘Guess what? I’m gay!’ It’s great. His reaction is so wonderful. It’s a great, sweet, endearing moment: ‘OK, I’m being accepted for where I am.‘”

Um… okay Chyler, but have you seen your own face in this scene…..?

Literally the only thing I wish had happened from the episode is at the end, when Claire is saying goodbye, she would have told Dean "say hi to Cas for me" or something similar. I don't necessarily think Cas always needs to be in Claire episodes because she deserves her own narrative. But Cas is a major character, and one that has a special connection to Claire. I just wish they'd acknowledge that rather than ignoring it completely.

Yeah, I mean I think pretty much everyone and their uncle assumes Dean went out to get some fresh air and tried to call/pray to Cas there…

And they may not have mentioned him once, but there was so much stuff in the episode that was about Cas that it’s ridiculous.

Mick and his best “Cas Impression” outfit with the tan coat. The fact that Mick’s storyline throughout the episode served as a major dark mirror for things we associate with Cas (he was faced with a very similar “rebellion against the organization” opportunity that Cas was in s4, and… he chose wrong. I mean there were other parallels to be made as well, but that was the primary one).

(not to mention the random guy in the hotel lobby– the only other person we saw inside the hotel other than staff and Dean– was wearing a beige trenchcoat)

Claire standing under the Gas N Sip sign and it being prominently featured throughout that whole first scene. The fact it wasn’t a traditional blue sign, but one in the Winchester Family Color of maroon– and also reflected beautifully off her maroon colored car– was a nice nod to both Claire’s status as someone the Winchesters consider family, as well as CAS’S status as an Official Winchester.

The fact that Claire was communicating with her family on the phone (texting Jody), when the last time we saw Cas he was on the phone with Dean. The fact that each of them neglected to tell their family member what they were actually up to mirrors them as well.

While they’re in the hotel lobby, Sam asks Claire the last time she had a hot meal that didn’t come from a Gas N Sip microwave… and Dean gets tetchy and defensive and says “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”

It’s like Dean was doubling down on Dad Mode because he was having to fill in for Cas.

And honestly, yeah it might’ve been nice for her to at least say, “Tell Cas I said hi,” or “You better still be looking out for him,” or even “are you gonna tell Cas what happened?” But I get it. I get why she didn’t.

How hard must it have been two years ago to finally find her mother only to lose her forever? And then for Sam, Dean, and Cas to send her off to live with Jody and Alex? We saw where she was about a year ago, finally starting to feel like she was building a new family with them. We know she’d had a lot of ups and downs with it, and she’s fought like hell to figure out who she is and what she wants to be.

So, yeah. This episode may have had a TON of visual and narrative Cas references, but it was about Claire. And the fact that she IS finally feeling like she’s in a place where she can make her own way in life, with not only Jody and Alex there for her emotional support as the family she’s grown to love (she called Jody MOM! <3), and the Winchesters there to have her back if she needs them, but really the times that Cas has popped up in her life haven’t exactly involved wonderful memories, you know?

And she even said in this episode that she’s still barely holding herself together most of the time. I mean, she’s been through some stuff in her life… I’m still not sure she feels ready to try and form any sort of relationship with Cas, you know? She forgave him, she’s grateful to him for helping her back in s10… she doesn’t wish him ill (she told Dean to look out for him, but I think that was more about DEAN than Cas, just like Dean asking Cas to look out for Sam in 11.23 was more about CAS… essentially telling Cas to stay, to let Sam be there for him too…). But maybe someday she’ll be ready to look at this guy who stole her father’s face and then got him killed, and be able to deal with that.

I know this still doesn’t cover all the Cas references in the episode. There were A LOT. But I get why she didn’t mention him.

(still never letting go of that headcanon that Dean was pretty much praying to him nonstop during that whole scene at the cabin tho)

【ダイヤのA】 day 1: childhood → smol!miyumei on cleaning duty °u°

Daenerys is a survivor of sexual assault. I don’t care how you spin it, Drogo raped her and she was miserable to the point she contemplated suicide.

Day followed day, and night followed night, until Dany knew she could not endure a moment longer. She would kill herself rather than go on, she decided one night …

The so called “love” between the two was stockholm syndrome. Daenerys gained empathy for Drogo and sympathised with him only because there came a point where he no longer treated her like a sex slave. But that doesn’t mean that she loved him.

And this takes me to the thing I actually wanted to address: how she copes with this. Dany was made to believe that the only thing she was good for in the journey to regain the iron throne for her family was sex. Viserys constantly told her to keep Drogo happy. She was given a handmaiden that taught her the ways of the seven sighs to ensure she knew how to keep him happy. Viserys threatened to have the entire khalasar use her if that meant he could get what he wanted. Dany has a very warped self-image, and as a result of her sexual trauma she copes with it with hyper sexuality; something that isn’t frequently addressed as a result of sexual assault.

Dany believes sex is a tool for happiness, and that it is the only thing she is good at. When Drogo died, it did leave a genuine hole in her heart, despite the fact that what they had wasn’t love. She fills it with the only thing she knows how: sex. It doesn’t occur to her at first, but it does when Irri touches her on that ship, and later she uses it with Daario, a man she finds attractive, to fill up that emptiness inside her.

Daenerys is a very sexual person in the books, there’s no way around it, but I think it’s important to note why. I think this is why, and it will be what I use in my portrayal, no matter the verse she is in. Her traumas did shape her into who she is, and I think it is important to address.
