Okay, I’m going to address a serious issue you here; usually I don’t post anything serious and about another band. But the picture above is a member of BTS(Bangtan Boys), Park Jimin, the reason why I’m talking about him is because of how skinny he’s got(photo on the left), it’s one thing to weight and gain muscle to be healthy, but he lost weight obviously not gaining any muscle. Jimin has always had some chub on him, he’s known for his cute chubby cheeks and thick thighs. But recently from the latest pictures posted from the airport and award shows there is a huge difference of his physical appearance in two comebacks. The picture on the right was two years ago and that was healthy, he was skinny but almost all of it was muscle. It’s alarming if you ask me, he’s really small now and he doesn’t even have muscle on him any more. Jimin is known for in the past to starve himself because of “fans” telling him he’s too chubby or he’s fat or that he felt like he was too big when he isn’t. He shouldn’t feel like he is too fat or needs to lose weight, and fans that tell him he does and doesn’t appreciate his body aren’t real fans. It’s his body he can have chub, it’s normal to have chub on your body. And saying that he can lose weight, IN A HEALTHY WAY NOT STARVING HIMSELF!!!! But he should be comfortable in his body!!! And not feel like he has to change for us!!! Or for anyone!!! It bothers me he does stave himself because it’s dangerous and unhealthy and I want him to be healthy and happy, and starving yourself doesn’t do that for you. His arms, neck, and face are smaller than before. It kills me to see idols, not just him to starve themselves to please fans, that shouldn’t be the case no matter what. It’s not about Jimin who has a history of starving to lose weight, many exo members, Seventeen members and Girl Groups have a history to starve themselves as well, in general I think it should all just stop together because there will be at one point an idol that will take starving too far and have a serious accident. It doesn’t matter what we think, we should be glad they are alive and healthy and their bodies are none of our business because they aren’t ours to own or claim. I want Park Jimin to know that he was perfect the way he was and still his but he shouldn’t have to change his body for anything. I, and not just me love his cute personality and himself in general which is why it hurts me to see him starve himself again. You aren’t a real fan if you think that he should lose weight or any idol, let them be happy and healthy and I pray he eats well soon and gain some of bodyweight again because that boy shouldn’t have to feel like he’s fat. As long as he doesn’t lose anymore weight from this he looks healthy but still he is a lot more thinner. I posted this to make everyone aware of the fact that he has lost weight, I really hope it isn’t he’s back to bad habits and to bring light to a serious issue of idols starving themselves, not just him.

Underwood siblings batch! Took a while to get these together but I’ve been busy lol (their cream-coloured cat’s name is Lucky Noodle, as decided in a stream a while ago lol)

More twins HERE and HERE

Lisa and Lance Underwood are Zack’s little brother and sister. They were archived since the scene they were meant to be in in Murphy’s Lard was altered. They’re 6 year old twins, smart for their age and full of sass. Lisa is the oldest twin, and tends to be the voice of the two. While they both like driving Zack crazy and pranking him whenever they get the chance, Lance is the quieter one, a little more introverted than his sister.

When Zack came back from his first day of school in Danville with the story of how he met Milo, his parents didn’t immediately believe them. His Grandpa was the first to believe him, but Lisa and Lance were thrilled with the idea of Zack having a jinxed best friend, whether it was true or not. When their brother finally invites Milo and Melissa over for the first time to finish a school project, the twins are all over Milo with questions. Lisa in particular takes an immediate liking to him, and will venture into his backpack the moment it’s unguarded.

Lisa and Lance still have disagreements, and they still have arguments with Zack in only the way siblings can. Zack is a little more chill around his twin siblings and let’s them climb all over him at times, literally. Lisa and Lance both look up to their big brother despite his lack of courage at times and his pride. Lance will never say it but he wants to be just like him when he’s older.

I will have a post about Lisa tomorrow, because I did extra work on her and some reasons why she looks up to Milo.

Here’s the full transcript of Mark talking Darkiplier in the livestream

(Time approx. 3 hours, 52 minutes to 4 hours, 4 minutes into the stream. And, yes, this took forever). Thought you’d like this, maybe.

I’ve bolded stuff I find especially interesting.

~~~~~~~
Mark: Long ago, a long time ago, I liked to do these scary edits because I just felt like doing scary edits and this is how Darkiplier got born. And then what happened was over time Darkiplier became less and less about the scary figure and more about this romantic figure, and it always rubbed me the wrong way. And I kind of shied away from Darkiplier for a while. And I really really really- if I was going to bring Darkiplier, and when we thought about this, we thought, okay there should be a Darkiplier route. And that was there from the beginning, and so when I wanted to do it I wanted to do it my way, and I wanted to do it right, and I wanted to have this unending level of creepiness. And at the same time, I didn’t want to step on the toes of Antisepticeye because I know there’s a big fan base of that, and I didn’t want to get in the way of that at all and I really don’t care that there’s more than one dark personalities of people. But when I saw the opportunity to have this character here, I spent like 8 hours editing this, like just meticulously every single RBG. This is a layer, we green screened this one, I color corrected it, I separated the RBG layers I added the shakes and glitchiness every frame. I worked on the voice, too. The voice took me the longest to figure out. Like the shakes! And my computer was dying this whole time cause I put my effects on here.
Tyler: The amount of time you had to spend rendering this.
Mark: And so, the audio’s actually three separate layers. It would have been two, but Kathryn helped me out on that one to make it more clear. It’s a normal pitched layer that’s edited, echoed, reverbed, mastered, and convoluted which means it’s just thrown off to the left and right, and then it’s a deep layer of that. But then to make it really come together- it didn’t live without this center channel that wasn’t convoluted but was centered. But getting that voice right was so pinnacle, so paramount to what I wanted to come out of this. And we did like thirty minutes of shooting various versions of me talking to the camera and I wanted to pick the exact dialogue that really kind of gave away my idea of what Dark is in not a terribly obvious way.
Tyler: The other thing, this was supposed to all be one video.
Mark: But YouTube annotations, this new version doesn’t allow you to link the same video multiple times, so these are literally the old videos that I first did when Darkiplier first came about, like, these are the ones, especially this one here, and then this is my cheap knockoff Darkiplier.
Amy: Canon Darkiplier.
Mark: Canon Darkiplier. And I’m going to readily admit something. I joked about Darkiplier because it didn’t seem like something people wanted to take seriously, and I’m okay with that on certain aspects but it had diverged into multiple different facets and multiple different personalities, and everyone had their own version of Darkiplier, and I thought it was hilarious that, “Hey, here’s my version of Darkiplier, and he’s an idiot.” Like, he’s just this weird emo kid. And then I stepped back from that, like, I stepped back. And you can even- in that time, when I was doing those videos, in this era, I was not very happy. I was kind of… I was pessimistic about a lot of things. And I felt like that bled through in a lot of things I did. And that’s why even October of last year I literally made Darkiplier an emo character. And then when we were getting to this, I thought about it like very carefully and I thought back to why I did it originally, and I did it originally because, well, Darkiplier wasn’t even a thing. Darkiplier was not a thing when I was making those videos. I just wanted to make some creepy stuff. And then I thought about that, and I was like if I want to make a statement about who this is, I need to own that and I need to put something out there that is not ambiguous, because I realize that’s where I went wrong. I didn’t have a solid character so obviously, people would come up with their own versions, they would fill in the gaps where they saw fit. So, when I made this I had to embrace it fully and fine-tune it down to exactly where I wanted. When you choose the “fake” choice carrying through to this one, I really wanted that to come through, except at the end to this video, where it gets silly, but that’s because the real me comes in and the real me’s an idiot. And I’ve actually watched this over and over again because I’m listening to the takes I put in here and I’m listening to my inflection and my tone, my demeanor and I’m imagining like how to refine it better next time when I bring him back, like how to do it better.
Tyler: I remember now, I set up the table.
Mark: Yeah, you did. You set up the table we had to change it out for clear glasses because the green screen was reflecting through. But yeah, even this, like the intersplices of anger, and this is me getting real deep in the meta of Darkiplier, like if that’s even a thing that can be- let me just pause it here. I don’t read too much into this but if there’s something that I want to take seriously, I want to actually do right. So, in my mind, Darkiplier is an entirely different person from me. But, much like Warfstache, doesn’t obey the laws of physics. He exists in another world entirely and bleeds through into this one. This is sounding really nerdy of me.
Tyler: I remember the Warfstache talk.
Mark: So Completely unironically, Darkiplier is a completely separate entity from who I am. But, he admires what I’ve accomplished, and he’s very much… people picked up on this, and people thought it was really creepy, because it’s what I wanted. He’s a social manipulator. He is literally, 100% manipulative. He leads you into this false sense of security, and he wants you to trust him because he wants to take advantage of you. That is literally what I wanted for Darkiplier. And how creepy and scary that actually is from the surface. Especially in this first bit, where he says, “If dinner is what you want, then I can provide.” And I wanted this to come across in a seductive way while also masking, like, this burning rage inside that breaks through the suave nature of it. That was my clue to reveal he’s not your friend. He’s not here to help you. He’s here to use you. And that also came across when I was thinking about, like, the effects. Like, his image shatters, he separates because he’s not entirely kept together, you know what I mean? So, I wanted like the drastic impacts of the rage pulling back suddenly to the calm nature and the demeanor and this last one, I was thinking was especially telling. It’s not me trying to break through, it’s his shell cracking.
Kathryn: I love that.
Mark: Yeah? It’s my favorite of all of them.
Kathryn: That’s one’s my favorite. I have legitimately just gone and watched that bit.
Mark: Yeah?
Kathryn: It’s really good.
Mark: Oh, thank you.
Kathryn: I really like that.
Mark: Yeah. And number 1 the visuals work hard on this one, but nailing the audio- that high-pitched ringing that a lot of people were like wow that really hurts my ears, that was by design. That was supposed to hurt because listening to him- a lot if inspiration for him comes from G-man from Half-life 2 and 1, like this weird interdimensional person that seems human but is obviously not and doesn’t obey the laws of physics, and is just like this shell of a person that’s in a suit. Not a suit, literally a human suit, and is trying to figure out how to puppet it right that you believe him, but he’s really good at it. And that’s where the scariness of Darkiplier, I think, really comes from, is because he seems like someone you can trust, and he will manipulate you, and take advantage of you, and literally use you, and to me that’s terrifying. Like that’s the antithesis of what I want to be and so if I’m going to make an opposite version of me, he’s gonna be the fucking worst. Like worse than any romantic story can ever bring about. He’s fucking awful.
Amy: It was convenient, though, I like the way it goes from Relax to this, like the video “Relax,” because then people were not expecting this. But it’s so nice to have it on Valentine’s Day. It works so well.
Mark: And then came the bullshit transition that we had to do. So, this is comical in a way.
Amy: It doesn’t drag it though.
Mark: Yeah it doesn’t drag. You get the scary. Tyler’s here-
Tyler: In Mark’s suit, which I have fit in, but not the pants.
Mark: He didn’t fit, we forgot to get a tie, like, we printed out a mask, and I looked at this and was like I could try to make this creepy, and then I went, I objectively can’t. Let me throw in some punch sound effects.
Tyler: I have to make sure, cause-
Mark: He couldn’t see shoot.
Tyler: No, I couldn’t, and I had to keep moving the mask cause there was one time we did this that the mask ended up completely on the side of my head and I was just like, hey Mark, you can’t touch my face.
Amy: The convenient thing about this, though, with all the glitches is that you can hide stuff with it.
Tyler: Yeah, and there’s a reason I never let go of Mark I have no clue where anything is.
Mark: Yeah, oh man. Oh, this, oh my god. Oh, and secret Easter egg- you know who Dark is because he doesn’t have a shadow. Totally intentional and by design.
Amy: His toes are missing too, but.
Mark: Shh he doesn’t have toes he’s so scary.
I’ve never been good at expressing my feelings. I hate confrontation, and fear making someone, especially you, mad. You whisper in my ear every night, ‘I’m always here for you.’ I trust you, and that’s a big thing for me. It’s not easy though, to just say how I feel. I fall way too hard and fast. I love too easily. One day, you’ll be like the rest. One day you’ll realize, I’m not easy to love. I take my feelings I cannot express, and take it out on you. I get so frustrated with my mess of emotions and thoughts, I get upset by the smallest thing. It sets me off. I take you always being here for me for granted, because I say stuff you don’t wanna here. Fuck, I just want to express my feelings for you, and with you. I’m sorry it’s so hard. I’m sorry you’re going to get tired of it too.
Hypothetical Handplates scenario in which Sans realizes he can teach himself Common.
(Ugh, tumblr is making them blurry for some reason so I guess full-view if you want the not-blurry version??)
Convoluted explanation incoming. Handplates is an Undertale fancomic by @zarla-s and if you like Papyrus and Sans, go read it, is good stuff. So I guess this is an AU fancomic of an AU fancomic? I dunno, the idea wouldn’t leave my brain until I did something with it. So. Zarla did a Christmas doodle where Gaster gave the boys a box of ginger cookies that had the word COOKIES on the side in big letters, and because my job gives me way too much time to think about random stuff, I realized something.
In Handplates, Gaster taught the bros to read and write Wingdings but deliberately did not teach them monster Common (ie: English) so they can’t read his nametag or anything. Thing is, Wingdings is a 1:1 substitution cipher for English. Every Wingdings symbol exactly equals an English letter; it’s not a different language, just a different set of pictures. As somebody who has taught herself a fair number of substitution ciphers, there are a few things you look for when you’re trying to translate a code and you don’t have a key in front of you. Most notably, single-letter words (in English they will usually be A or I) or double letters next to each other. Like the OO in “COOKIES”.
Sans is smart. Gaster has fed them junk food before and odds are good Sans knows how to spell “COOKIES”. The word is on the box in huge letters and Gaster just said it out loud, so it is fresh in Sans’ mind. That double-O is a huge tip-off. He would put it together that the word on the front of the box matches what’s inside. Once you figure out a few of the letters, it becomes steadily easier to decode the rest.
I feel like Gaster exposes the boys to enough Common (the nametag, food wrappers, computer monitors, the books Sans sits on) that Sans could pick it up with a proper starting point. Papyrus probably not, because he had a hard enough time with Wingdings, but Sans is eager for any opportunity to undermine Gaster and I’m sure he’d jump at the chance. In this comic he elects not to tell Papyrus, though. He doesn’t know Gaster has cameras in the cell (or even what a camera is) but he’s figured out that Gaster can spy on them somehow, and the last time Gaster caught them learning something he didn’t like, Papyrus got the ever-loving hell beat out of him. So Sans keeps quiet about it for now. And thus starts the long-standing tradition of keeping important secrets from his brother.
On the technical side, it took me a freakin’ week to sketch and outline this whole thing. Coloring and shading only took me like a day. In the meantime Zarla actually kinda addressed the cookie comic, but this was almost done by then so oh well. I’m finding my poses and proportions turn out a LOT better when I’m doodling skeletons, like what, drawing basic anatomy will make you better at anatomy, you don’t say?? A lot of this was a self-challenge to see if I could imitate Zarla’s art style, and I referenced previous Handplates comics a lot for the backgrounds and Sans’ face. Full disclosure: Gaster’s pose up there is basically copied from Zarla’s original comic because I was rushing through to get on to the actual meat of the story. He’s just here for setup. I had fun trying to figure out how to do his Lost Soul head though. Also, I hate Papyrus’ face from the front. Also also, it was tricky trying to convey “mentally translating an unknown alphabet into a known one” when pretty much everyone who sees this comic is already familiar with the “unknown” one and not the “known” one, but I think I pulled it off.
TL;DR- I imitated somebody else’s style to do an AU of an AU; I am not Zarla; Zarla is the creator of Handplates and also Gaster’s pose in the first panel; I like ciphers too much and also I gave the cookies icing because that is the only kind of ginger cookie I know.
Pet Store Ettiquite
I figured I’d write this as a little guide, because I see people every day who don’t know or understand these things that make my job really tough or frustrating. Maybe you already knew them, maybe you didn’t, either way I hope at least a few people will learn!
Fish:
If someone is getting you fish, please stand off to the side (not behind them) and not in front of the tank your fish is in. I know you want to watch them catch the fish but employees need to stand right in front of the tank they’re getting into and probably need some big elbow room too. Stand back!
If you want a specific fish, absolutely say so . But! Remember that for some fish this will be impossible to do. Or, the fish are for all intents and purposes identical so don’t try to pick a specific one please. Or at least, don’t get mad or think the employee is incompetent because they tell you they can’t.
Do not ask for help with a fish problem, receive an answer, then tell the employee there is no problem and you did nothing wrong. Please, 99% of the time, you did something wrong. Just fix it.
Do NOT open lids or stick your hand into the tanks!! For any reason!
Birds:
Do not put your hands near or into the cage. Just don’t! 90% of the time you are scaring the bird and giving them lifelong behavioral problems. Remember, they have had around a dozen people try to poke them, scare them, maybe even yell at them or hit their cage. The public is stupid, don’t be a part of that. Politely admire the birds from a distance unless the bird is asking for physical touch.
DO NOT TRY TO OPEN THE BIRD CAGES. I CAN’T BELIEVE I HAVE TO SAY THIS.
This includes going into any employees only areas related to cleaning cages.
Do NOT feed the birds ANYTHING!! PLEASE YOU COULD KILL THEM.
Mammals:
Do NOT open the cages.
Understand that you might not be able to handle the animal. This is, honestly, for the animals protection more than anything. Many people, including those who genuinely think they can competently hold the animal, cannot, and will drop or injure them. I’ve been doing this for 8 years. Chances are, you will drop that hamster so no, you can’t hold it.
If there is an open top type of enclosure, ASK if you may touch the animals inside.
Reptiles:
Same as with mammals, you probably won’t be allowed to hold the animal. It’s just a safety thing, nothing personal. Please respect it and the animal.
Do not crowd the employee as they get you an animal. Lots of reptiles are fast and flighty and having you breathing down their neck will do one of a few things; distract them, make them uncomfortable, or get in their way.
Do not scream or jump if a reptile jumps or runs. I know this might be difficult, but try to expect it so it doesn’t startle you. If you react this way you can startle the employee, which may make them make mistakes or become nervous, which leads to more dropping/failure to catch the animal. Especially if they are new.
General:
Do not take things from the top shelf! It’s dangerous, let an employee help you.
Please give your kids ground rules BEFORE taking them into the store. So many kids, every single day, come in and wreck the place or hit things because they had no idea they weren’t supposed to. If your child is old enough, before going into the store give the following rules
1. Do not touch the cages or tanks. (Look but don’t touch)
2. Stay with me/don’t walk away.
3. No running.
4. Put things back.
Will they listen? Maybe not, but you can’t get mad at them for getting excited to see a hamster and hitting the cage to get it’s attention because hey, no one said anything about that and you’re a kid so why would you think twice before doing it?
This is more for you than anyone but if you are STARTING to run out of cat/dog food, write down the brand/type (Or take a picture) and get some before you’re totally out. Many, many people actually forget what brand of food they feed and get frustrated when they can’t remember or I can’t figure it out (It’s a YELLOW bag. It’s chicken? Maybe beef. Small breed.). Having that picture will help you a lot! And employees. Heck, to save you even more trouble, call first and ask if they carry it and if it’s in stock!
If your dog is aggressive with strangers, small animals, or other dogs… Please do not bring them into a pet store.
On that note please do not bring animals to the pet store that would be in danger because of it. Like a bird without a harness, a hamster or mouse without a carrying case, or a baby ball python you got 3 days ago (please… stop).
Geoff Johns Wants to Build DCEU’s Batman Universe Like the Comics
DC Films’ Geoff Johns says the DC Extended Universe is planning to build Batman’s corner of the universe with offshoots for his supporting characters just like how it is in the comic booksn. In a recent interview on IGN Live, Johns teased the possibility of eventually bringing together all the characters significantly tied to Batman on the big screen:
“We haven’t gone out there and said what our slate is and that’s because we’ll do it when we’re ready and we have the films that we’re excited about. But for Batman, what I will say is that Batman is more than just Batman and, you know, it’s been way too long since we’ve seen an expansion of that universe, and Batgirl – we are doing Batgirl with Joss Whedon, it’s going to be super exciting. He’s going to start that next year, and that’s just the start. We want to explore the Batman universe in a very big new way and Matt Reeves is coming on to do Batman now, and we don’t want to do the same thing that has been done before. We want to build it out just like we built it out in the comics.”
On top of Batgirl, which will be in development starting next year, a Nightwing film written by Bill Dubuque and directed by Chris McKay has also been in the works at Warner Bros. That said, there are still a slew of other characters that can be brought to life in Batman’s own extended universe like Batwoman, Catwoman, The Spoiler, Bluebird, Robin, Red Hood, Red Robin and maybe even an appearance from Ace the Bat-Hound.
Dean can be a stubborn jerk sometimes.
Sam has been growing up with that since he’s able to remember and though his mighty weapon, the powerful puppy dog look, proved to be successful occasionally, Dean’s an insistent pighead more often than not. It’s a beloved Winchester trait he liked to nurse for a very long time.
But, thankfully, somewhere along the way Castiel showed up and turned Dean into a compliant puddle of goo almost instantly.
Because his dear big brother is obviously incapable of saying no to those big, blue angel eyes.
A very helpful turn of events, that’s for sure.
So when Sam finds himself in need of an agreeable Dean, he just goes straight to Castiel.
“Cas, I need your help,” he says one day. “I have a favor to ask of Dean and, well …”
“I see.” Castiel grabs a cup of coffee and studies Sam intently. “How can I be of assistance?”
Sam smiles relieved. Castiel’s easy acceptance is always something to cherish. “Well, it’s kinda big, I’ve gotta confess –”
Castiel nods like he totally understands. “You want a dog.”
Sam blinks a few times, staring at the angel. “Uh …”
Actually he just wanted to borrow the Impala for about a week (or maybe a bit longer) to visit some libraries high up north, but this … this is way too important to simply wave it off. “Why … why would you think that?”
Castiel tilts his head. “Because of the way you always look at dog owners playing with their pets in the park. It’s the same face Dean makes when he’s seeing a pie he can’t have.”
Sam ducks his head. He’s apparently been way to obvious if even an angel still learning human mannerisms is able to call him out.
“Well, yeah …” he mumbles.
Castiel straightens his back. “I will talk to Dean.”
Sam casts him an incredulous look. “You … you seriously think you could get me a dog?”
“Of course,” Castiel states simply, sipping his coffee and looking freaking confident.
Sam snorts at that. “Sorry, man,” he counters. “But even you can’t bring Dean to get us a dog!”
Castiel raises an eyebrow, the “Is that a challenge?” clear as day.
“Okay, fine,” Sam concedes, chuckling. “Show me what you got! Perform a fucking miracle!”
Castiel takes a last gulp and then marches out of the room like a man on a mission, calling Dean’s name.
And just five minutes later Dean drops onto the chair across from Sam, looking a bit rumpled and dazed, before eventually clearing his throat in a very melodramatic fashion. “Okay, bitch, listen up!” he announces in his bossy you’re-not-allowed-to-contradict-me voice. “There are a lot of things to discuss before we’re getting that stupid dog, you hear me?”
And while Dean keeps talking about rules and restrictions, Sam can’t do anything else than gape at Castiel who is standing just behind Dean, smirking and mouthing “You’re welcome!”.
Damn!
Neil and Andrew adopt a child. Not a baby because that's not who needs to be adopted the most a child who needed a second chance.
I have thought a lot about the idea of Dan and Matt calling Neil in to help them reach a troubled kid on their kid’s high school exy team and Andrew seeing a lot of himself and Neil in the kid and even though he never wanted kids wanting to help this one.
So, I was super excited to see this ask and this is probably going to be long.
  • Matt is a retired exy player and coaches his and Dan’s daughter’s high school exy team
  • And sometimes consults the Fox’s current coach (aka his gorgeous wife) for help
  • But there’s one girl on the team that Matt cannot reach no matter how hard he tries
  • Madison is this scrawny little fourteen year-old playing on a high school team with and against teens much bigger and older
  • And her and Matt and Dan’s daughter are the only girls on the team
  • Madison hardly talks and she’s usually all reserved off the court
  • But, on it, she gets into fights with guys twice her size and seems to angle for a red card every game
  • She can also go from reserved to screaming and swearing very fast and she’s gotten into verbal and physical fights in school hallways
  • She’s failing every single class she’s in because she doesn’t put in any effort
  • Matt keeps trying to talk to her and see how to help her
  • He tries so hard to make sure that she knows she can come to him if she needs help with anything, whether it is exy related or not
  • But it’s kind of like when he told Neil that he would help him with anything and Neil still tried to handle everything himself and insisted he was fine, even when he clearly was not
That shot is incredible ! Would you perhaps consider showing us part of your process ? I just assumed you used 3D for the camera movement, it's amazing.
I shall present thou my process, but consider that it ‘ll be the exact same process as any other animation, it’s basicly like “i did a rough and a tie down, and i cleaned it”.
I assume that by asking this, thou wanted to know some “ways” of doing this kind of thing, but sadly i didn’t use any tricks, and i could have of course, but i just felt that if i was trying to find a way to avoid doing it, i would just not be doing it, and the rsult would have not been the one i wanted.
So in order to make this process as interesting as it could possibly be, i’ll try to explain my thought during each steps as much as i can.
So here is the rough, basicly if i recall correctly this was like my third version (i didn’t find the other one) i tried to have here “key moments” and not exactly “key movements”, i tried to define the most importants parts of the curve my camera’s describing. The thing is, i wanted to be sure where to slow down the pacing of my camera, and when to speed it up, and at the same time i wanted to know what the crowd would looks like.
Here’s my kind of tie down, it’s the thing i used in order to do the cleaning later, here, i juste came back to re-define a little better the last part, the fast parts are easier to read and i know where my characters are.
Something i also did (and lost by now so i can’t show it) is like a top view map of the crowd, with each character to always help me remember where each one is.
Note that i cleaned and colored the “ghost” first here, as he’s hiding characters, i wanted to know exactly where he would be to avoid unecessary drawings.
And here whe have the final cleaning, here is the part i’ll need to explain the most, because sadly there’s no real “inbetween” before this part and the tie down.
The first thing i did was to clean all the images i already had during the tie down, then i got all the models checked with the character designers Lady Hagdahl Sörebo and Lady Zhang to be absolutly sure that the things i would be inbeetwining would be the exact models  (i thought lady Hagdahl Sörebo was going to die during that part).
The thing i did at the same time was to define the size of the brush during each “key moments”, you may notice on the gif above that the further away the characters are, the thinner their line is.This is one of the thing that helps achieving this “3D like” aspect, it helps feeling depht in each frames and makes your eyes’s understanding of each characters easier.
Once i had my key movements perfectly lined, i started beaking it down, i inbetweened all the images i had, BUT i started to think about each characters’s movement, you may notice it , but the characters are not all totally still, some of them are moving, doing something, for exemple, the xingtiang (the ball-like things with arms who carrys bowl of food) wave their arms and bowl a little as they can’t exactly sustain their weight perfectly.
It’s that part that helped creating life in that shot, if the characters had been just standing still, the shot would have felt flat, and a bit life-less.
Once i had all my characters on models, my lines’s size defined, and my characters animation set in stone, i just had to inbetween everything to reach a ratio of 25 frames/1 second, it’s what we call a 1′s exposition in french, i don’t know how to say it in english, but the important part is that it helps your eyes understanding the movement, and in a shot with so many characters, and a movement as fast as this one, it was absolutly necessary to have everything at one, it’s also one of the thing that helps achieving this 3D effect, as we tend to see most of our 2D animation at 2 or 3 and our 3D animation at 1 (or 0.5)
And we’re nearly finished! after that i just colorised the characters, once they were, i was sure of the negative space around them, and were to put the confettis you see on the ground, it’s an other thing that helps defining depth in the shot, a solid ground under the feets of the characters.
And of course once i had everything in place i just had to add the flying confettis! I animated them straight ahead, as i already had my camera movement and my characters it was child’s play to guess the size, the orientation and everything else; it’s like animating in 2D on a 3D scene, thou know exactly where thou are, but it doesn’t have the cons 3D scene have, the space isn’t so big you get lost in it, thou know exactly what’s on screen, and it doesn’t feel dead.
I wanted them to flow through in order to lead the eyes of the audience and to make the whole movement flow more fluently, this way thou don’t look too much at all the characters and thou don’t get lost in the details, because thy eyes are attracted by the colored and bright moving dots through the image.
And that’s it!
An other intersting thing about this shot is that i cuted it in 3 parts in order to simplify the tvpaint file.
It means this process only cover this part, which is the second one, the others weren’t exactly done the same way, but the process was more interesting for this part, that’s why i didn’t added the others.
Hope it’ll help thou in thy journey.
Being autistic isn’t always ‘cute, quirky things’, like knowing a hundred random facts about forensic pathology because it was my special interest in the sixth grade; or not knowing pop culture references because I didn’t watch that tv show, I was too busy reading books on forensic pathology.
But it’s always, constantly, that near panic fear of -
Oh no, they’re looking at me, why are they looking at me?
It’s my turn to talk!
What do I say?
Is this the right speaking volume?
Am I talking too fast?
Are these the right words?
Do I sound intelligent enough for the people I’m talking to?
Am I using too many big words?
Am I over explaining?
Wait, how’s my volume?
Oh shoot, I was distracted by my volume and I used a big word and now everyone’s laughing at me.
Why is their forehead creased? Are they mad? Is that a happy crease?
Why am I waving my hands so much?
I need to stop waving my hands.
Great, now everyone is staring at my hands.
Okay, great, I think this conversation is over!
Oh, no, wait, they’re talking again.
Look them in the eye.
No, wait, that’s too much eye contact.
Uhhhhh …
We’re done?
We’re done, whew. Another social interaction over.
Runner up. Second best. How do I know if I’m an upgrade or settlement? Everything I do, she did too, everything I say, she said her way. When you tell me you love me, do you mean like you loved her? Should that question even be past tense, or future?
That’s the thing about someone’s first love, it’s the baseline, the mark after which every love comes. How am I to know if you see her in me? Am I what you want, or is she what you need? I am trying so hard to fill in her shoes, to strut her stilettos, and shuffle her boots. Trying to curl my toes just so, in a way that tells you, “my heart’s yours, you know”.
But I worry that my feet are too big or too small. And they stretch out the hole or don’t fill it at all. I worry I can’t erase the space in your brain, the space that’s engraved with her heart and her face. And I worry and worry and love you to death, because coming in second is so hard to get. There is so much potential and so much to lose, because all I want to is to fill in her shoes.
So...racism in ASOIF. Pretty blatant, no? His clear equation of whiteness with beauty? The manner in which lands of color are always sexually...open. GRRM tries, sometimes, he really does, but there's some unhealthy shit there right? Could you give your thoughts on that, or link to a time when you have? Thank you! (Yes, I know my name is misspelled.)
Blanket statement before I start on this one: you can love a story to pieces and still point out its flaws and blind spots, including the racist kind. If we only consumed non-problematic media, we would consume no media whatsoever, but we still gotta be honest with ourselves about where our faves fall short. ASOIAF is my very favorite thing (shocking, I know), yet aspects of it are disappointing, and this is one of them.
For me, what really crystallized the problem with how GRRM writes the Dothraki and the Ghiscari especially is when I read some insightful people comparing that writing to how the author frames the wildlings. Personally, I think GRRM does some of his very best writing with the Free Folk. Throughout the series, the author lavishes attention on their individuality, their rich and sad history, their multi-faceted ideology and how it plays out in each of their unique life stories, all geared toward making Jon—and us—feel for them. Not just intellectually understand that they are human beings like anyone else, but feel it, in his and our bones.
I want to really emphasize individuality, because it’s important—putting faces on the monolithic swarm changes Jon’s entire worldview over the course of ACOK, ASOS, and ADWD. That’s not just a band of stinking wildlings howling for blood, not anymore. That’s Ygritte, kissed by fire, who loved and was loved, lost and was lost. That’s Tormund Giantsbane, the only one of Jon’s many dads who doesn’t project anything onto him, but simply enjoys his company and wants him to be happy. That’s Mance and Gilly and Val, people that I care about and feel I have come to know. “This is a whole people come together.” One of the worst among them gets a POV; Varamyr Sixskins is the most stomach-churning face we ever wear, but by his prologue’s end, he’s a thoroughly fleshed-out villain, his life story told. I understand him, and my understanding of the wildlings as a whole is richer for what his story communicates.
This is good storytelling, in other words. Really good. Not flawless, but overall, it’s an engine of empathy and humanization with a big-picture political aim: the wildlings are people too, and that means we have to stand with them against the Long Night.
“When the cold winds rise, we shall live or die together. It is time we made alliance against our common foe.” He looked at Jon. “Would you agree?”
“My father dreamed of resettling the Gift,” Jon admitted. “He and my uncle Benjen used to talk of it.” He never thought of settling it with wildlings, though… but he never rode with wildlings, either. He did not fool himself; the free folk would make for unruly subjects and dangerous neighbors. Yet when he weighed Ygritte’s red hair against the cold blue eyes of the wights, the choice was easy. “I agree.”
It’s stirring stuff, and a model to be studied. Those who were initially barbarians in our POV’s eyes are humanized…
…when they are white. When they are not white, the humanization drops off to a glaring and significant degree. Jon and Dany are paralleled throughout the story, but this is one very telling difference: the cultural Other in Jon’s story gets a human face, while Dany’s (to an overwhelming if not 100% complete degree) stays a swarm. This is true whether said swarm is being presented negatively…
Four of the men seemed to be named Grazdan, presumably after Grazdan the Great who had founded Old Ghis in the dawn of days. They all looked alike; thick fleshy men with amber skin, broad noses, dark eyes.
…or positively.
She trotted, then cantered, then broke into a gallop, her braid streaming behind. The freed slaves parted before her. “Mother,” they called from a hundred throats, a thousand, ten thousand. “Mother,” they sang, their fingers brushing her legs as she flew by. “Mother, Mother, Mother!”
You can definitely see parallels between Dany’s assimilation into the Dothraki in AGOT and Jon’s rumspringa with the wildlings in ASOS; @racefortheironthrone makes that case here. But the difference is that in Dany’s story on the Dothraki Sea and in Slaver’s Bay, there’s so rarely even the pretense of individualization. I challenge anyone to describe to me the characterization of Dany’s bloodriders—give me a paragraph on what makes Aggo and Rakharo different. (You would be able to with Mance v. Tormund.) Tell me about Hizdahr zo Loraq and Reznak mo Reznak as human beings. (You would be able to with Ygritte and Varamyr.) Where is the Tormund of the Dothraki? Where is the Ygritte of the Ghiscari? They are not there…or rather, they are, but GRRM doesn’t bother showing them, and seems more than a little disinterested in the people he does show. He finds “the human heart in conflict with itself” in so many other parts of the story, yet not here.
This is where Jon ends up RE the wildlings:
“I am the shield that guards the realms of men. Those are the words. So tell me, my lord—what are these wildlings, if not men?”
This is where Dany ends up RE the Ghiscari:
It was a city of strange men with strange gods and stranger hair, of slavers wrapped in fringed tokars, where grace was earned through whoring, butchery was art, and dog was a delicacy.
The latter is never countered within the text itself. We are not shown how Dany is wrong. This is a problem. (I say that even while worshipping at the altar of Dany X ADWD and recognizing that moment’s place within her personal arc; vast, contain multitudes, and so on.) But this failure of empathy, imagination, dramatization, and humanization did not occur in isolation. This is a major problem with the genre as a whole, and it’s honestly one of the reasons I’m generally much more of a horror and sci-fi guy than a fantasy guy. Those have their own issues, of course (because, again, everything we create does), but fantasy’s history lends itself to a particularly colonialist-nostalgia-tinged take on things. That is far too big a subject to summarize here, and of course concerns our relationship to all media, not just fantasy stories. So, given that a picture is worth a thousand words…Peter Jackson knew to cut Tom Bombadil, but he didn’t know to cut this:
So when I say that the way GRRM has written this fantasy story speaks to a racial blind spot, I am not making a problem up out of thin air because I want to be mad about something, as is the all-caps accusation every single time anyone brings this up. I am saying that this is yet one more nail, and that while GRRM has addressed many of the genre’s tropes and cliches with style to spare, he has also proved willing to take some disappointing and well-trodden shortcuts.
this is probably going to sound stupid but
i think one of the small things about dear evan hansen that often goes overlooked is the way evan sits in chairs and stuff. listen- he always just makes himself as small as possible and curls right up against the side of the chair as if he’s afraid of taking up too much space (especially true at the beginning of so big/so small and when heidi went to dinner at the murphy’s) and it always makes me want to cry because it’s just so real and ahdksjdjdjd
Single - Part 1
Summary: Dean tries to plan a camping trip for his son and the reader doesn’t make it easy for him.
Pairing: Daddy!Dean x Reader
Word Count: 1,419
Dean never planned on braving this world as a single dad, hell he never planned on being single again. He married the love of his life nine years ago, only to discover that she was an adversary in disguise.
Once Dean’s home life became unstable, he knew it was inevitably heading down a rocky road. Leaving was a tough decision because of his son Drew but it turned out being the best thing for everyone.
So that’s how Dean ended up here, here being a charming ranch styled house in the middle of a Kansas suburb. Not a day goes by where he’s not thankful for having the strength to rebuild his life.
Although it definitely helps that Dean’s supportive parents and brother live close by. It helps that he grew up playing on the same dirt that his son is now. And it helps that his sporting goods store became wildly successful, allowing him to do what he loves.
“Alright, Drew. This is your last hurrah before school starts so make it count.” Dean plops down at the kitchen table with a pen and pad in hand.
My prayers go out to Top, his family, and his band members.
As a fan of Big Bang and someone who has always admired Top I’m saddened by his current situation. I don’t care about what he did, I only care about him waking up. I only care about him getting the help he needs so he can get better. so he can hug his mom and play with his nephew, I want him to Instagram more art. I want him to keep making music, I want him to continue and live his life the way he wants too. I want him to be happy because as a fan that’s all I want. So please take a moment to pray to whatever God you believe in for him and his family because I can only imagine what they’re going through right now.
Mayor Damien
As a firm believer of the theory that the Colonel is Wilford and that Mayor Damien is Dark, I’d like to expand on this. I was rewatching WKM and especially keeping an eye out for Damien and the way he engaged with certain characters. This is gon’ be a long ride kiddos.
This first thing is probably the thing that I find the most interesting. Damien is the perfect character. He is intelligent, he is sympathetic, he obviously mourns Mark and he is very kind to us. He uses big words yet isn’t afraid to tell the Colonel to get his head out of his ass, which doesn’t seem like a very Dark thing to do now does it? No, this is a role Dark is playing. This is him wanting us to think that he really cares about Mark’s death because we do too. Imagine if you were really in that position. Your old friend just died in front of you, that would hurt a lot. Damien is guiding us through that in a way, because he shares our feelings. He’s showing us; ‘I know what you feel. I can be trusted. I am your friend.’ A little too much if you ask me.
Another thing is.. What really concerned me even in the first watch of the video was Damien saying he needed alone time. The alarm bell immediatly went off with me because holy shit, what is he gonna do when he’s alone? Back then I didn’t even link Dark to Damien so even without Dark that is still a fishy thing. Though I personally don’t believe Damien was the one who did it, who knows what Dark can do when he’s alone?
Third thing is the way he treats the Colonel who we assume to be Wilford. It’s very much like in Markiplier TV don’t you think? Very friends, but not really friends type of thing. Damien also says that the Colonel is eccentric and that it’s his best and worst quality. Well, we have heard Dark respects Wilford. If we assume that is the truth, then maybe this proves it even more? Wilford or the Colonel being eccentric can be good too, if you know how to use it well. Dark obviously does.
Fourth thing. Which is clear as day, Damien is extremely refined. Hair slicked back, suit in place and everything. (Something we didn’t see with Dark in Darkiplier VS Antisepticeye because it wasn’t canon Dark.) He is really the perfect charming character and his appearance matches that. So many people already love Damien, including myself, who have also fallen for Dark. It’s a pattern.
And then the last thing.. Damien. His name literally means devil. (I’ve been corrected, it doesn’t literally mean devil but there are many pop culture refences to the devil when talking about the name Damien. So it still counts lol.) Now the devil is the prince of lies, the one with the silver tongue. If you look at the devil in another way than a little red man, you will find he is very charming and will manipulate and seduce you into trusting him before getting you to do whatever it is he wants. The devil is VERY similar to Dark and now even Damien’s name is a direct reference to it. And, can’t forget that both names start with a D.
I have seen many other amazing theories out there, and many other way deeper thoughts about this than I can do in just twenty minutes, but this is what I have so far. Also, tagging @mayor-damien-protection-squad because maybe you’d like to see this?? I don’t really know.
That’s it for theory time with Theresa because I’m a mess
whoa, man, whoa. What a ride that was like dang, infobomb and, like, dang man that was so good!! Just, so much to process though so forgive me while I try and organize my thoughts.
First, okay, so Topaz is great. She’s great. I really hope we see her again
Surprising but also not surprising - a Diamond shattered Pink Diamond. I know that’s been discussed at length because, among other things, in real life, only diamonds can cut diamonds. I figured that would come into play somehow, since its a pretty well-known fact. But Gems don’t necessarily follow gemstone rules so
Also, another Gem I love, Zircon. The defendant one. She figured it out, something no other Gem seemed to have before.
Blue Diamond definitely didn’t seem to know, but Yellow Diamond? Hm. And where’s White Diamond in all of this? How is this new information going to affect the Diamond Authority? It would have to cause dissent among them. And what happened to cause a Diamond to shatter Pink Diamond? Was she growing sympathetic to the Rebel cause or was it just a power grab (perhaps caused by her weakened position due to the rebellion?)? How come so many eyewitnesses thought it was Rose that shattered her? Illusion? Shapeshifting? A straight-up lie (Eyeball seemed pretty convinced, though)? I’m so so excited to find all this stuff out
I love all the off-colors? They’re great, they’re all great, I already want to see them all again they’re great all of them
Lars’ “redemption arc,” so to speak, is so good! I love how he developed over this arc and in the episodes to come (I imagine). I’m just so looking forward to where his character goes from here and just. I just really like it. Just way to go Lars!
Also, we know what Lion is now? He’s a lion brought back to life by Rose’s tears (so Rose could heal organics too??) That’s one big ol’ mystery solved… partially solved.
Anyways, this is really scattered because that was just so much to process (also I’m fighting a migraine so I’m a little unfocused tbh) but man that was so good! So good!!
