that he forgot, precisely, how small
she was. He was far too aware of her, far too conscious of each of movement, to
forget. But it still struck him, when she cuddled against him, sleepy, tipsy
murmur a soft whistle of sound and lacking coherent syllables, how absurd the
strength differential was. Her fingers curled in the fabric across chest, nails
dragging it scant breadths away from his skin, closer to the chin tucked
against him, and it still made his feet nearly miss their next step. “Cut that
out,” He said it even knowing she would ignore him. Sure enough, she shook her
head, the brush of her hair as it shifted tickling his neck with the movement. He
took a deep breath. Grumbled, “You never listen to me.” This bothered him, suddenly, and,
tipsy himself, he insisted sternly, “You should listen to me.” She snorted,
indelicately, and he scowled down at her closed eyes, “I’m older than you!”
feel like a win. His brow furrowed. “I am.”
Two years into a successful apprenticeship with Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano, Padawan Learner Obi-Wan Kenobi is filled with both excitement and anxiety at promise of his very first mission with his master. But before they jet off to Raxus on the Outer Rim, Obi-Wan needs to do some researching in the Jedi Archives.
The sun had set by the time Ahsoka and Obi-Wan arrived back at the Jedi Temple, the five spires lit up as a beacon to one and all, the great seat of light and hope in the galaxy.
This was the home of the Jedi.
This was the heart of the Order.
Obi-Wan had exhausted his questions about their upcoming assignment and was trailing after Ahsoka, observing the people on the streets as they passed them. The Temple District was quieter than the Senate District but there was always something to see. Sentients from every corner of the galaxy could be found in the district, from academics and scholars who wanted to do research on the Jedi and their history to those who came seeking a chance to work within the Temple grounds to those who simply saw the Temple as a tourist spot, a place one simply had to see when they got a chance to visit Coruscant.
Security at the Temple during Ahsoka’s childhood had been far more rigorous than it was now. She was still surprised to see the occasional tour group put together by a senatorial friend of the High Council or a wide-eyed clutch of invited sentients following after whatever Jedi Master had been roped into giving the tour this time. Ahsoka had once tagged along with one of these groups during her first year back in the past, following Master Diaz and a crop of new senators from the Mid Rim through the halls as she tried to re-learn where everything was supposed to be.
“Master?” Obi-Wan’s voice broke into Ahsoka’s thoughts as they entered the Temple. “Master? I… may I confess something?”
They had just passed through the massive main entrance of the Temple, moving past the towering bronzium statues that represented great masters from the ancient days of the Order. Ahsoka glanced at Obi-Wan and nodded, gesturing for him to follow her over to a private corner.
Safely tucked away where no one could hear them, Ahsoka turned to her padawan. “What is it, Obi-Wan? Is something wrong?”
If you're still open to Beronica prompts, could you write a drabble in which Betty gets hurt (nothing major, she bumps her head or gets a small cut or something) and Veronica practically goes insane by overreacting and trying to make sure Betty is okay because she can't stand the thought of her precious bb hurting in any kind of way? 🙏🏻
wow wowwwow I really let this one get away from me because I got super caught up in these teens just being teens but anyways - hope this is ok!
“Betty, we gotta—we gotta…” Veronica snorts, trying not to laugh out loud.
“Shhhhh,” Betty hisses, grabbing at Veronica when the other girl tries to stand up. “They’re gonna hear you and then we’re gonna lose.” Betty yanks on Veronica’s arm, and Veronica falls on top of her.
Veronica giggles madly, and this time, Betty can’t help but join in.
“They’re gonna find us, V,” Betty says through the giggles. She thinks she’s whispering, but she’s pretty tipsy, so she really can’t be sure.
I love it how these republicans are saying “the media OUTED jillian!!!! now their DEMONIZING her for her views!!!!” like????
did you not see the interview where she HERSELF said she shut down her facebook before going on bb because she supports trump???? how was she ousted by the media????
How come no one talks about the fact that both Rey and Poe are considered to be crack pilots in the new Star Wars? Can you imagine the shenanigans they would get into? I would bet my entire arm that Rey would try to pilot an X-wing one night when she figured no one would notice just because she wants to see if she can.
She takes BB-8 with her because she’s going to need a copilot, but of course Poe is going to notice that someone ran off with his droid (or rather his droid ran off with them.) Poe catches her and she’s sure that he’s going to turn her in, but instead he says “You definitely don’t want to take that ship. Jessika will skin you alive. Take mine instead.” And she’s just over the moon because sharing is not a concept she’s used to.
Poe expects her to take it slow, so he’s totally not expecting it when she starts pulling off these sick aerial maneuvers that he’d never expect from a noob and he’s just down on the ground gobsmacked while Rey’s freaking out about how smooth the controls are and how quickly it turns. She earns his respect very quickly after that.
She and Poe, realizing that they’re both very good pilots, start getting competitive and start having races in his fighter and the Falcon. Rey keeps working on the Falcon to try and make it faster so she can beat him, and the old girl’s in need of some maintenance anyway so why not? Eventually she realizes that even though the Falcon is fast and she’s good, she’s going to need a copilot to save on time.
Finn turns out to be hopeless at it and Chewie isn’t hot on the idea of all these reckless races around the base because Rey I’m supposed to be looking out for you what are you doing. He does agree to help her upgrade the Falcon, though. After all, it’s still his baby and if he can make it a little safer, why not? Rey is going to do this stuff anyway.
Rey starts thinking she’ll have to build some weird contraption in the cockpit to let her hit the far away buttons by herself, but then she finds someone who will be her copilot: R2-D2.
This old, foul-mouthed droid hasn’t done any real, proper flying since the Empire days, and boy is he ready to wreck someone’s shit. Sure it’s just Poe’s pride, but that doesn’t matter. R2 is READY. He and Rey really start perfecting their technique and bonding over flying. Sometimes (all the time) R2 likes to tell Rey daring stories about all the wars he’s been in and how many times he’s almost died. Rey wouldn’t believe him if he were human, but being a droid, R2 has all kinds of recordings and the like to back it up.
The moment they started flying together, poor Poe didn’t stand a CHANCE.
