because of important reasons

did i ever show you this edit i made

general li mulan

okay so i LOVE mulan okay. as far as i’m concerned it’s a Perfect Movie and doesn’t need any fixing. but i was thinking today and -

- what if mulan didn’t go to war to save her father?

say her father is dead, okay, killed by the previous war. so she’s raised by her mother and grandmother, women who’s complacency and softness has been worn away by necessity. she needs to marry well, for her family’s sake, because her mother has refused the hand of every man who offered. but mulan is even more rough around the edges than before, is educated not only in books (her mother said men wouldn’t find smarts attractive and grandmother pointed out that men aren’t always around and off to school mulan went) but in the sword too, taught to her by her classmate, ping.

mulan is considered in the lower end of the upper class, coming from a family of military men and scholars and successful merchants. ping is near the top, the son or nephew of an advisor to the emperor. his family is very rich and very important, and the reason they become friends is because mulan manages to notice something about him that he’s been hiding from everyone else - he’s going blind.

not totally blind, enough to get around, but blind enough that reading is difficult and swordplay is even worse, although once he has it down he has it. ping is no fool, he’s not weak or bumbling. his eyes just don’t work. so mulan notices and confronts him about it. she promises to keep it a secret, and hey, she’ll even help him with his assignments by reading the books out loud and helping him study. but in return he must teach her the sword, must teach her about military and tactics. he agrees.

ping and mulan become very good friends and there’s some raised eyebrows about it but they are TOO far away in class for it to be inappropriate, so they make tutting sounds and disapproving faces and let it go.

then the draft happens. ping can’t go to war, he won’t survive it. not with his eyesight like it is. so mulan offers him a deal - she’ll go to war for him, in his place. in return, if she survives, he must marry her. if she dies he must take care of her family.

ping can’t make this kind of family decision on his own, so he goes to his mother and tells her everything, about the eyesight and how he’ll die if he goes and mulan’s offer. his mother says he must keep it a secret from his father, but agrees - if mulan fights in her son’s place and survives, a wedding will be arranged. either way, mulan’s family will be taken care of. ping will be sent to live with some cousins in the meanwhile.

“you’re not in love with me, are you?” ping asks, helping mulan saddle her horse in the middle of the night. she scoffs and rolls her eyes, “not even a little. but marrying you will make my family happy, and besides, you’re my best friend,” she says, smiling, “better you than some grabby old man.” he smiles and hugs her and says, “i’m not in love with you either. but don’t die out there. we have a wedding to plan.”

so mulan goes to the camp, pretending to be ping, and she’s a little bit less lost but things still go as they go. she’s educated and trained, so it’s not hard for her to pass as ping. shang is keeping a special eye on her, thinking that she’s the son of an advisor, one of his father’s friends. and he sees how easily she excels, how quick thinking and smart she is, and starts giving her more and more responsibilities. by the time they’re called out, shang considers ping ie mulan to be his right hand man, and possibly his best friend.

he’s also a little bit in love with ping, and he’s long known he’s attracted to both genders, so he watches ping laugh and smile and the crease between his eyes when he frowns and does his best to let his feelings chase away the best soldier he has. every time shang looks at ping his heart clenches and he things to himself: i wish i could have you, i wish this was a time and a place where one man could have another, i wish you were a girl, is wish i was a girl - i wish we could be together. he’s literally a step away from doodling ‘li ping’ with little hearts over his battle plans.

so the battles happen. shang and ping lead their men together, respected and loved. they each get promoted, and promoted, and promoted. it’s been years, and it comes to a point where they’re both generals in their own right. they trust each other, care for each other. and are both secretly in love with the other.

mulan is so conflicted. because she wants this war to end and to go home and settle back into life and become ping’s wife, so she can have an easy life spent studying and learning with her family taken care of. that’s what she’d wanted. but now what she wants is shang, her best friend, her brother in arms, her fellow general. she wishes to be everything to him, aches to be the woman on his arm and in his bed, but knows it’s the one thing she can never be.

then that final battle happens. mulan’s quick thinking saves them all and ends the war - but she’s injured.

shang finds out the ping has been a girl all along. he demands explanations - so she tells him everything, that she traded places with ping to save him, to become his wife.

and the lies should sting the sharpest, but they don’t. she’s still the same person, after all. it’s that she’s promised to another man, for one second he’d thought he might have her, but no. so he agrees not to reveal her but he’s furious and furious at himself for being furious and they’re not the same now, broken and splintered and neither of them know what to do.

the war is over. they leave. mulan returns home, and thanks to her ping is now known as a respected general. she’s done her part and survived, and now she gets her reward - ping’s hand in marriage.

but she sees ping for the first time and flings herself into his arms and starts crying. she tells him everything, because he’s still her friend, her very best friend besides shang, the man whom she lied to and betrayed and loves. and ping listens and takes her by the shoulders and says - i’ll uphold our bargain, if that’s what you want. you can be my pampered wife, you’ve more than earned it. but if you want to go to shang, i won’t blame you. you deserve your happiness.

and mulan goes back and forth, but ultimately she decides she has to try. if shang rejects her she’ll return and marry ping and uphold her family honor. but if shang wants her - he’s not as high up as ping, but he’s high up enough to satisfy her family, and also she would love him and want him if he was no more than a farming peasant so it doesn’t matter much anyway.

she rides to the capitol. she finally meets ping’s father, running into him while looking for shang. “ah mulan,” says this man who was never supposed to know of her until she became his daughter-in-law, “i didn’t expect to see you here. how fortuitous. walk with me.” she does, wary, and that’s how she discovers - he and the emperor had discovered her deception a year in, but at that point she’d already proven herself too skilled and valuable to lose. he tells her that he will uphold his son and wife’s deal and gladly welcome her to his household - but that she’s earned her rank as general, and that he and the emperor have no problem with letting her keep it.

she says thank you, shocked and joyful, but that she has to talk to someone first. “ah, yes, young general li,” he says, eyes twinkling, “i do believe he’s around here somewhere.”

she has no idea how he seems to know everything, but she finally tracks down shang who’s ecstatic to see her and hates himself for it. she confesses - says she loves him, that she’s engaged to ping but willing and able to break this engagement for shang. who is dumbfounded and elated and says yes, of course, finally and forever.

and mulan accepts her rank and marries shang, and they become the literal power battle couple of the general li mulan and general li shang. ping becomes a scholar and marries a very nice young woman who loves reading and is happy to read aloud to her husband with his failing eyes.

and they all live happily ever after.

Very important

Things you should know about UMG (Universal Music Group)

This is a massive entertainment company that owns DefJams the label BTS is actually signed under. This isn’t the first time UMG have engaged in controversial and indiscriminate copyright acts. They have removed content from Artist Prince, abused copyright acts with company Digital Millennium Copyright Act and even muted singer Katherine Jenkins rendition of the British national anthem God Save the Queen.

The reason why this is important is because they are not learning from their mistakes and could potentially ruin BTS chances of reaching a larger audience since reaction videos, lyric videos and dance tutorials contribute to Bts recognition and also affect their social chart for Billboard. They are unfairly copyrighting content related to BST that is not Japanese, and claiming aspects of BST to be from them when in fact it originated by a KOREAN company Leon entertainment which created the BST MV and therefore have copyright claim not UMG

We cannot let this happen and need Bighit to be aware of the consequences it could have for Bts especially since YouTube content is such a major reasons for their interaction with global fans.

Guys please spread this as this is a BIG ISSUE especially if not dealt with now as it can affect Bts future MV and fan made content. Some army’s have already began spreading the hashtag #UMGdon'ttouchbts and I encourage fellow army’s to work together and make this a worldwide trend so we can stop them fro taking advantage and using bts.

UPDATE: Army’s you truly are the best fandom because of our complaints videos have begun to be unblocked, I hope they continue to unblock all the videos they wrongly removed. Fighting!

Hello noodle!I really want to make more fun drug thingy stuff and like stuff of my own, but I'm having some serious lack of confidence when I'm drawing. How do you draw things like faces and heads or even bodies? I hope I'm not being bothering

I’m self taught (and actually drawing is my very recent hobby) I don’t have any cool-professional-art-reference-stuff to offer (sorry, heh).

To be very honest, i don’t even think those things are that important.

because drawing is literally a HOBBY and there’s no reason to be stressed out while you’re drawing! your artwork is super cool and no one can judge you, friend. enjoy yourself!

Like, in the US, most obese people are POOR, because unhealthy, high calorie, high fat, high salt foods are actually much cheaper than healthy foods. Our food system and health system are fucked and bizarre. I can get a cheese burger from McDonalds for less than a bag of carrots.

You are fighting the good fight when you said this @fandomsandfeminism, but I just need to correct this bit of misinformation so you can continue fighting with the right facts on your side. [source thread; cw fat phobia]

Poor people, and especially poor people of color, are indeed more likely to be fat than their richer and/or white counterparts. But the reason is not because “unhealthy” food is cheaper.

Food insecurity is one important reason that poorer people are fatter. But the processes by which food insecurity leads to fatness has less to do with the types of foods people eat and more to do with the metabolic changes that result from cyclical starvation. [source]

Also, the stress of social oppression changes people’s biochemistry in such a way that becoming fat is more likely. Stress hormones tip the balance towards growing the fat organ, even when food is scarce and people are malnourished. [source]

And being fat actually offers protection against many of the diseases that are caused by the stress of oppression and poverty – including cardiovascular disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, and others. Once people develop these diseases of social oppression, being fat is actually a good thing. [source]

Also, white supremacy is based in part on valuing a thin body type that is more common among white people of European ancestry, whereas many of the racial and ethnic groups that are marginalized under white supremacy also happen to be fatter, or at least, prone to fatness under certain circumstances. Old timey racists basically latched onto fat phobia as a means of further oppressing and excluding the people they wanted to oppress and exclude. [source]

So basically, poor people are fat for a whole host of reasons that have nothing to do with the cost of McDonalds. That is actually just a fat phobic myth that allows privileged people to “blame” poor fat people for their body size and the poor health status that is incorrectly attributed to that body size. It’s easy to avoid responsibility for social oppression when poor people are just fat and sick because they make made food choices, am I right? Yuck. [read more]

I know you wouldn’t want to perpetuate that type of harmful and abusive ideology, so it’s a good idea if you – and all of us – stop spreading that myth around!

Thinking About Character Motivations

Whether it’s about why a character would commit murder or why someone would want a do-over in life, I get a lot of questions about character motivations. This is a very important question to ask yourself to develop a believable character because for every action and decision that is made there is some sort of motivation. You eat because you’re hungry, you sleep because you’re tired, you plot to take over the country because the current government killed your sister and framed it on you to further their political agenda. Or maybe you eat because nobody can turn down the deliciousness that is mint chocolate ice cream, you sleep because you’ve got a ridiculous migraine from all the ice cream, and you plot to take over the world because you plan to outlaw eating mint chocolate chip ice cream to have it all for yourself. No matter what the motive is the important thing is that the character has one. To help you come up with one for whatever insanity you’re planning (the scenarios I’ve seen from all of you make me equally proud and baffled) I’ve come up with a few points to consider to get your thinking gears moving.

1.     Consider how it relates to the main plot and subplot(s).

Going back to taking over the country, there are millions of ways this story could unfold. What differentiates each and what makes it interesting is why the character wants to do this. Martin Scorsese once said “The king died and then the queen died is a story. The king died, and then queen died of grief is a plot.” This is the way a character’s motive works: your story tells the reader what happens but the why and how is always more interesting. So ask yourself what kind of impact you want this motive to have on the plot because it is what will drive everything. When a character doesn’t have a motivation (like a villain who is evil because) there is no direction and no intrigue in the events as they unfold.

2.     Is it out of fear or desire?

To put it very simply, character motivation is fueled by either fear or desire (or maybe both). You could eat because you saw someone else eating cake and now you really crave some too, or you could eat because you fear dying of hunger. There are always primal fears and desires like the desire for survival, companionship and happiness and a fear of death and pain. These are great and can often come up but also try to personalize them to your character so the reader feels why it is important to them. Once you having something fueling the motivation it becomes much more real and gives you a better idea of how to use it.

3.     Make it fit with the genre.

Along with personalizing to the character, it’s good to keep in mind the tropes of the genre (remember tropes are not the same as clichés). In a romance the reader expects one of the motivations to be love, in a thriller it’s often about a fight for personal survival and/or to save someone or something. The reason this is important is because it would be odd for a character’s main motivation in a story about saving the country from foreign invasion to be becoming a pianist. Unless, of course the story is really about a young talent who loses their chance to travel to a music school because of war, but now the plot has changed, hasn’t it? There can be multiple motivations, especially when you cross genres like a YA adventure, or thriller with a romance but just remember that readers who give your work a try have certain expectations based on the genre so either try to match or rethink the genre you’re really writing.

4.     External and internal motivations.

External motivations are ones that are imposed on your character by external forces while internal motivations come from within themselves (personal desires). For example, take a police officer tasked with finding a kidnapped victim. They have the external motivation of solving this case because it is their job and failing at it would be failing their assignment and leaving a life in peril. They could also have many other personal motivations driving them like having lost their best friend to trafficking or something completely unrelated, like they are motivated to make their little kid proud. You can also try to make these motivations specific to differentiate from characters, at least in your own mind so you can weave that into the characters. External motivations can push the character into the plot but the internal ones can keep them going when things get tough and make readers truly sympathize with them.

5.     Finally, do your homework.

No matter how many tips you read here or anywhere else, none of it is going to matter if you don’t sit down and work out your character’s motivations to fit them and your plot. If you need motivations for something that you might not be familiar with (eg. why someone would commit a specific crime) or you need more information about the topic…RESEARCH! Remember, remember, remember that there are no cutting corners when it comes to writing so take a seat, let your mind explore the possibilities, and get to work.

Good luck!!

“but poe wouldn’t even be ‘space latinx’ because yavin 4 was abandoned, stop acting like he has to be headcanon’d as speaking space spanish or having a latinx identity!1!”

first off: just say you’re racist, it’s who you are

second off: yavin 4′s first permanent settlement colony was the survivors of the alderaanian genocide. alderaan was space latinx, or at LEAST space spain if you really can’t bring yourself to think that a space latinx planet could have been “the jewel of the core” bc you are racist.

2a) let’s take a look at some canonical alderaanians:

the most notable alderaanian besides leia with an actor counterpart is bail organa, played by jimmy smits, who is puerto rican-american.

“but AHA!” you racistly claim, with a racist finger in the air, “what about max von sydow? HIS character is alderaanian!”

2b) let’s look at some traditional alderaanian names from canon:

  • anandra milon
  • santigo milon
  • lor san tekka <– max von sydow
  • liana merian

i mean they’re star wars Space Names but you have to be purposefully obtuse to ignore the earthbound schema they’re based on. alderaan = a part of Space Latin America. alderaanians = colonized yavin 4. their names are as reflective of alderaan’s space puerto rican identity as “cassian jeron andor” is of fest’s mexican coding. stop being deliberately obtuse; you’re not being MORE creative by insisting on whiteness or whatever it is you think you’re doing.

also, in the words of oscar isaac, aka poe dameron himself: “ Because Latino is not a race – it’s a culture. There’s Chinese Latinos, there’s very white Latinos, there’s very dark Latinos, there’s black Latinos. There’s all sorts of variants – it’s not one thing.”

you’re not being pinned down to one idea/theme when people criticize your White Poe headcanons and say that he has to be space latinx. you’re being challenged for your narrow-mindedness and lack of creativity.

2c) yavin 4 = literally guatemala, by the way, like that was… the whole. thing. of making poe yavi. yavin 4 itself is meant to be read as part of space latin america.

2d) let’s look at how alderaan, also, was not the only planet coded as being part of space latin america, given that cassian andor is from fest. where were shara and kes, poe’s parents, from? we don’t know. but you know what probably encompassed many planets? space latin america. like earth latin america: a wide variety of cultures and countries and spread across races.

2e) that said, let’s look real quick at how shara and kes are not white people.

third off: let’s look at oscar isaac, who is guatemalan and specifically asked for poe to be from yavin 4 BECAUSE it is guatemala and it was important to him and that’s reason enough to stop being a dickhole about the canon fact of poe’s latinidad:

(side note:HOW PERFECT ARE SHARA AND KES? THEIR CHILD TOTALLY /WOULD/ BE POE.)

thank you.

Mysterious Galra Theory or “That Time Keith Rescued Princess Romelle”

Alrighty, my children, gather your popcorn and your blankets and get comfortable, because Mama Shards is about to take you for a ride along another one of her wild theories!

For those who aren’t familiar with GoLion/Defender of the Universe, Princess Romelle was Allura’s cousin, and pretty much her twin except literally. She was kidnapped and held captive by Lotor as a harem girl because of this likeness (in case anyone had any doubt how creepily obsessed with Allura Lotor was in the original). For this particular theory, this is really all you need to know.

Going back to the mysterious Galra in the Weblum, we’ll call them “MG”, we only know two for sure things about them:

  1. They’ve been there a while.
  2. They were there for scaultrite.

“And what time will you bring him?”

“Six, Lydia, six! Is there a reason you’ve asked me three times already?“

“Because it’s important, and we both know how slippery your focus is. I bet you’re doing three things at once right now.”

“For your information, I’m doing two. Ordering the cake, putting bullshit answers down for my history paper, and talking to— that’s, that’s three, isn’t it?”

“Yes. And what time will you bring him?”

“Six!”

anyway i can’t even express how grateful I am for When We Rise because like… idk I feel like it’s an important story for us to hear bruh

in order to really understand the LGBTQ+ community I feel like I have to understand the history behind it, and yeah I read articles and stuff, but to actually have it acted out, and to have a better understanding of what it was like, is invaluable to me even if parts are fictionalized or dramatized or sanitized

it still gives an emotional context that is difficult to get from words strung together

Apps every SB needs:
•PayPal/PayPal here- here is a free card scanner that they will send you. I use my paypal for nannying so it’s a “business” account but if I ask for something and daddy doesn’t have cash or PayPal I can take plastic this way lol also, PayPal has a card that they can send you where your $ can actually be used off.
•Venmo- I really use this more with my friends than with SDs BUT this is an easy way to request cab $ or whatever and you can set it to private. Huge perk is customizable profile so you don’t have to use your real name. Also, this dumps into any account you want to add and doesn’t have any fees.
•Cash- this one I’ve only used once but it is also customizable so you can use a fake name and everything else. This one is for people who don’t want to download an app, they can pay online with a link through here.
•Google Wallet- hooks up to your e-mail (see: fake Sugar e-mail) and also gives you a card. This is another money transfer app that I like because if it’s using your sugar e-mail everything should be locked down and private and because having a card is nifty. This is the card I use to pay for flights that I’ve sent SDs through Google flights.
•Google Hangouts/Google Voice- you have to have google voice but hangouts allows you to send/receive pictures which is huge. You can also choose your area code with this which makes it a more “real” number than most other apps I’ve seen.
•SA- because while it’s salty as hell sometimes you find a good one, and it’s always good to stay online.
•Airbnb- I love this for when I’m traveling to be with my SDs, hanging out with friends, or in between travels. It’s also amazing because you can find last-minute rooms reasonably which is important if something goes awry with an SD/POT. I never would stay with an SD here and use these as my places to decompress that they don’t know about. & they’re usually super homey.
•Hotel Tonight- for when you’re traveling with your SD or for when you/your SD just can’t wait to get home. Last minute hotels as opposed to Airbnbs.
•Truecaller- search anyone’s number to see if they’re a real person/who they say they are! There are better sites for this but Truecaller ain’t bad.

Feel free to let me know if there are any that I need to add. I know I just reblogged some info about PayPal/Venmo/Google Wallet & SW that’s really helpful and important so check that out too.

Saiii-chan... What do you think if Kacchan and Todoroki have a relationship(romance or friendship)? And how do you describe it??? :3 Love u, mom of 1-A class!

(okay so i must apologize b/c this is more a meta about Bakugou and Todoroki’s relationship overall instead of what you asked, even tho you said you were fine with that earlier. sorry about that!!!)

i can’t see it as a romantic relationship, personally

i think Bakugou is still angry at Todoroki for giving up during their fight at the sports festival. at the very least, he still holds a bit of a grudge over it. Bakugou doesn’t take anyone implying that he’s weak lightly, and Todoroki refusing to use his fire powers during their fight, after he used them against IZUKU, implies a lot for Bakugou:

1. that Bakugou is less impressive than Izuku. this is a very big sore spot for Bakugou, beccause he has a lot of personal issues that stem from his fear of Izuku actually having the potential to surpass him, and it’s the reason he began bullying Izuku in the first place.

“IF I CAN’T GO ABOVE DEKU, IT DON’T MEAN A GODDAMN THING!!!”

2. That Todoroki doesn’t see Bakugou as worthy to use his flames against. which, again, is a sore spot. this implies that Bakugou isn’t strong enough or is too weak to have the honor to fight against Todoroki’s fire.

“Am I not strong enough for ya?”

3. Todoroki wasn’t even trying in their fight because he didn’t see Bakugou as worth fighting.

of course, the reason why Todoroki didn’t use his fire was because he was going through a lot of emotional issues, and Bakugou was at least somewhat aware of this.

he did overhear Izuku and Todoroki’s discussion about Endeavor and what he did to Todoroki and his mom.

the bottom panels show up immediately after Todoroki’s.

how long Bakugou was listening in and how much he actually heard is up for debate, but we do know that he did overhear about Todorki’s home life and his declaration against Endeavor and his resolve not to use his flames.

however, Bakugou has a massive inferiority complex, particularly in reference to Izuku, and the fact that Todoroki was able to use his fire against Izuku is what really bothers Bakugou. Todoroki isn’t even trying to win during their fight.

he isn’t even bothering.

look at how upset Bakugou is here. he looks like he’s about to break down in tears.

that’s how important this was to Bakugou. he’s literally about to cry because of this. and one of the reasons this fight was so important for Bakugou comes from early on in the series.

(the second image is a pic i took from my phone of the official translation)

“THAT ICY BASTARD! NO WAY I CAN MEASURE UP TO HIM, EITHER…!!”

immediately after Bakugou lost to Izuku during the Heroes vs. Villains exam, after Momo explained exactly how Bakugou fucked up for the entire class to hear, Todoroki comes and finishes the exam within minutes.

he barely had to do anything and he fucking won without breaking a sweat. in other words: he completely showed up Bakugou after Bakugou lost control, got angry and totally fucked up.

it was the first time Bakugou realized that there are people out there that are stronger than him. that there are people that he might not be able to beat. it was the first time Bakugou realized that he might not be the best, and he was faced with the fact that he might not be able to hold a candle to Todoroki.

so for Bakugou, their fight at the sports festival was very, very personal for him.

“… YOU PLAY TO WIN!!”

hell, even for a moment, Bakugou actually agreed with Izuku when he cheered Todoroki on to fight his all against Bakugou.

but Todoroki was distracted; with his home life, with Endeavor, and worse (in Bakugou’s point of view), with Izuku.

it’s just moments before their fight, and Todoroki doesn’t even acknowledge Bakugou when he accidentally barges into the wrong room.

no, instead of acknowledging Bakugou, Todoroki immediately starts talking about Izuku.

Izuku, Izuku, Izuku, Izuku.

of course this pisses Bakugou off. this is HIS FIGHT and Deku is already fucking with it and he’s NOT EVEN THERE

i do think that Bakugou was trying to help Todoroki in his own way. he was trying to get Todoroki to understand that his fire is just a biological function of his body. it’s his own power, no one else’s.

there’s a reason why Horikoshi specifically had Bakugou say these lines, especially during Izuku and Todoroki’s fight.

however, i think the reason why Bakugou did this was mostly to get Todoroki to overcome his hesitance because he wanted to fight Todoroki at his full power. think of it as Bakugou saying “Get the fuck over yourself and fight me at your full potential so I can prove myself.”

(tho a bit of it may be because Bakugou does care, just a bit. the stricken expression he has after Todoroki explains his personal history is very telling, and it tells the audience that it did affect Bakugou somewhat.

“And since I don’t give a shit, feel free to use that fucking flame side on me…!”

he very specifically denies caring about Todoroki’s personal history, tho he may have just done so to rile Todoroki up to get him in the mood for a fight. but also because he really just wants to fight against Todoroki’s flames)

he knows why Todoroki doesn’t use his fire. but he still used his fire against Izuku. and Bakugou wants part of that, he wants to fight Todoroki on equal ground and prove that he’s the best.

Bakugou wants so badly to test himself against Todoroki because of what happened during and after the Heroes vs. Villains exam. he wants to prove himself against Todoroki, to prove that he can beat this kid that he once thought he couldn’t. he wants to have a fair fight against Todoroki and fucking WIN without any of Deku’s bullshit getting in the way, and yet it’s already interfering before the fight even starts.

that’s why Bakugou was so angry that Todoroki wasn’t taking this fight seriously. that’s why he was about to fucking cry at the end of it, when he won. because he didn’t win due to his own strength, he didn’t prove himself in any way, he only won because his opponent refused to go all out against him, and that’s a huge slap in the face for Bakugou.

there isn’t any point in winning a fight where your opponent doesn’t even try to fight against you. and Bakugou hates being underestimated and taken lightly.

and again, this was a huge personal insult against Bakugou in particular. he wanted to prove something to himself but Todoroki just wasn’t in the right headspace to fight back at full power.

of course, none of this is Todoroki’s fault. he had a lot on his mind.

but for Bakugou, this is all extremely difficult for him. he continues to hold this grudge against Todoroki prior to the second exam, where he threatens/challenges both Izuku and Todoroki.

hell, he even says Todoroki’s name here, which shows how serious he is. Bakugou never says anyone’s name, unless he respects them or they got his attention. i’m fairly certain that, during this moment, it’s not out of respect; Todoroki just royally pissed Bakugou off and part of that manifested as Bakugou using Todoroki’s name to show just how angry and determined he was at this moment

tho Bakugou does seem to calm down a bit after the second exam, after he was forced to work with Izuku.

even afterwards tho, where they’re paired up during the trial of courage, Bakugou is trying to get a different partner, any other partner besides Todoroki, because he’s still pissed about what happened.

(lmao i’m fairly certain Ojirou doesn’t wanna pair with Todoroki because he got his ass royally kicked by him in the first exam)

i think that Todoroki is trying to make up for what he did to Bakugou in his own way, but doesn’t really know how. he realized that he did Bakugou a disservice during their fight, and feels bad about it.

i believe this is why he tried so hard to rescue Bakugou when he was kidnapped by the League of Villains/AFO.

out of all the kids, he was one of the few who was 100% set on rescuing Bakugou from the start. absolutely nothing would stop him from going and rescuing Bakugou.

now, the reason why he was so dead set on this is up for speculation.

personally, i think part of it was Todoroki trying to make up for what he did to Bakugou during the Sports Festival by helping to rescue him.

part of it may be because Bakugou was kidnapped from right in front of him and he couldn’t do a thing to stop it, and he feels responsible for it.

another part may be because it’s part of his ideal of what a hero should be, which is rescuing people when you know you have the ability to, regardless of the consequences (which may be a call back to the Stain incident with Iida. if he and Izuku hadn’t shown up, Iida very well could’ve died)

anyway, the point i’m trying to make here is that Todoroki holds no ill will towards Bakugou. rather, he feels bad for letting Bakugou down, and tried his damnedest to rescue him, even after Bakugou made it clear that he doesn’t like Todoroki.

in fact, they seem to have a fairly….. amiable relationship, at least for Bakugou’s standards.

it’s mostly just…. Bakugou getting angry and shouting, and Todoroki just not really reacting to him. i’m sure Bakugou is still fairly angry about everything in regards to Todoroki, but it doesn’t seem quiet as….volitile or personal as before.

and again, Todoroki holds no ill will towards Bakugou. there are only two moments where Todoroki seems truly angry or frustrated at Bakugou, and one of them is when Bakugou brings up his home life (which. yeah), and the second is just because he’s frustrated that Bakugou wants to use his explosions in the forest in order to fight the villain, which would only cause them more problems.

i think Bakugou is slowly letting go of his grudge. very, very slowly. it was a very personal issue for him and it’s hard for him to just let that go. but after seeing All Might retire and feeling like the cause of it, and feeling all that guilt… not to mention, he now knows the story behind Izuku, All Might, and One for All, and is actually supporting Izuku (someone he hated for so long).

his feelings are becoming somewhat healthier now that most of those issues have been discussed. not quite resolved, because stuff like that doesn’t happen over night, but it’s getting there.

now tho, he might be more willing to try and let some of those angry feelings towards Todoroki go. i doubt it’ll be anytime soon, however. Bakugou is someone who holds long grudges about this kind of stuff. but i think he is slowly letting them go.

it helps that Todoroki doesn’t really react to Bakugou’s anger at all, haha.
