What the fuck???
Ok, so this was a story from my first job. I worked at an independent pizza place that was about a ten minute walk from my house during the summer before my senior year. I worked from 11-3, three days a week, and it was ok, but still had its weird and fuck customer-y moments
First, I don’t think I was working there legally- I was paid in cash at the end of every week, never filled out any forms or anything. I just rolled with it at the time, mainly because I knew that if I didn’t have it in cash I’d never be able to use the money, but looking back on it, it was weird af. I also was officially a cashier, but anything they asked me to do, I did- stocked the fridges, got dough, etc. probably should have been paid more than 8.75 an hour tbh.
Another thing was this one customer, who was just fucking weird. I don’t remember much of the conversation, but I do remember it basically went
Customer: can you drive?
Me: no (cars are scary y'all)
Customer: what are you twelve?
Me: I’m seventeen
And he just gave me a weird look.
The biggest thing (and the true Fuck Coworkers thing) was this one guy at work. Now, there were two people who worked at my job besides me, 88% of the time- Diego, who made the pizzas in the front, and Macho, who made everything else in the back. Both of them were at least twice my age.
Which was why it was weird that Macho kept hitting on me. He asked me if I had a boyfriend several times, said he would marry me, shit like that. He made me lunch once, which was like chicken and vegetables and shit, except I never asked for any of this. Plus, he once showed me pictures of his kid, who was seven. Aka only a decade younger than me. I told him to back off twice, once simply saying it made me uncomfortable, the other saying that not only was I not single, I had a girlfriend.
Left the job after I went back to senior year, but it was still fucking weird.
