because i'll never shut up about how cute she is okay

Hope Less Romantics Chapter One

“And that was Make Out Monday with their song, Twixter! Check in next week to win tickets to see the band live at their concert on the 15!” the voice of the man on the radio drifts through the speakers of Shiro’s car. He reaches his prosthetic hand out to turn the volume knob down. The man’s eye drift over the younger male in the passenger seat, who in turn gives him a glare.
Shiro chuckles, “What? The song was over.”
“Yeah, well maybe I wanted to listen to that,” Keith huffs, crossing his arms over his chest.
“They’re talking about the weather, Keith, you never care about that.”
“You know what I meant.” Grey eyes gaze out of the car’s window. “Besides, I’m not that lucky.”
“You never know,” Shiro pulls the car to a stop at a red light. “They’re, like, your favorite band right?”
“Well yeah, but-”
“Then you should go see them.”
Keith turns his head to look directly at his brother, “We both know that’s never going to happen, Shiro.”
“Keith Akira Kogane-Shirogane, we talked about this.”
Keith shrugs his shoulders, going back to watching the world outside the window.
“Don’t you shrug your shoulder at-”
“Light’s green, Shiro.”
Shiro starts driving back to their shared home, giving Keith a side glance. “We’re not done with this conversation, Keith.”
Keith hums in acknowledgement.
“I’m serious, Keith. You never know, there might come a chance for you to meet that crush of yours.”
Wide, grey eyes frantically dart over to the, now smirking, older male. “Shiro, no. We Don’t speak of that.” Scarlet forms over the younger male’s pale cheeks. “I don’t…no there’s no crush. Besides,” he tosses his hands up in the air, whacking his knuckles on the car’s roof, “everyone knows that the lead singer is straight.”
“Don’t beat up my car.”
His words fall on deaf ears.
“I mean, sure, he’s really, really cute, and has a nice voice. And his hair is really nice. Plus his eyes! Have you ever seen anything so-” Keith’s words stop as chuckling reaches his ears. “What are you laughing at?”
Shiro shakes his head, “You’re rambling about someone you claim not to have a crush on.”
“I don’t!”
“Man, you’ve got it bad. Did I sound half as bad as you when I first met Allura?”
Keith gives Shiro a deadpan look, “I’m ranting, not insufferable.”
Shiro pulls into their driveway, and goes to make a retort, when his phone rings. He reads the text with a smile on his face while typing a reply. Keith already has his things and is making his way into the house. Shiro dials the number on his phone, waiting for a response.
“He went on another rant?” Allura’s laugh emits from the speaker.
“Yeah, Allura he’s gonna love this surprise.”
“I would hope so, from the way he talks.”
“Shiro, come on!” Keith yells from the front door.
“I gotta go, sweetie, the child is impatient,” he chuckles again. “I’ll talk to you later, Allura.” He lowers his voice so that Keith can’t hear, “I love you.”
“Love you too, Shiro.”
The two hang up and Shiro heads into the house.

A week goes by and Keith’s mood seems to drop with each passing second. A few customers at the pet store he works at seemed to have noticed, but don’t ask. It’s when he’s elbow deep in cleaning the chinchilla cage, that Shiro asks.
Keith raises a brow. “I’m fine.”
“You’re in one of your moods,” Shiro kneels down beside him. “Is it because of the concert?”
Keith’s bottom lip sticks out slightly in a pout. “…no.” He stands up, brushing his hands off quickly. “I already knew I wasn’t going out. Besides, the odds of me actually meeting the band aren’t very high.”
Shiro stands as well, and sighs, running a hand through his hair. “Look, we didn’t wanna tell you this yet, but since you really need a pick me up. You know Allura, right?”
“You mean your ‘Sweetie’?” a sly smirk graces the black haired male’s face.
Shiro groans. “Yes, her. Well, I never told you exactly what she does.”
“Something that involves a lot of fancy parties, right?”
“She’s the current owner of Altea Records.” Keith’s jaw nearly hits the floor. Shiro rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. “Yeah…so that concert? Well, we got tickets for it. She knows how much you love the band, and we agreed that it’d be a nice gift for you since you’ve been working really hard.”
Keith’s grey eyes light up, “You…you’re serious?!”
“Yes, I’m serious. Plus, do you remember Matt?”
“The kid you hung around with and had a relationship with for a while in college?”
“Yeah. Matt’s the guitar player for the band,” Shiro shakes his head, an airy laugh, “I’m surprised you didn’t notice sooner!”
Keith crosses his arms over his chest, and turns his head away. “Well, maybe he looks different than he did when you two hung out more.”
“Or, you’re just too busy giving googly eyes to your crush to notice.” Now Shiro had a smirk on his face. Keith’s cheeks turned rosy from embarrassment, the pink color spanning to the tips of his ears. Shiro’s hand clamped down onto the younger male’s shoulder, “This might be your chance to meet the ‘love of your life’ that you dream so animatedly about.”
Keith threw a half hearted swing at his brother’s shoulder, blush still very evident, if not darker, on his face. “Dude, shut up!” A small laugh bubbled up from Keith’s throat. He was going to see the band he’s been a fan of for quite a while, and maybe, just maybe, he might get the chance to talk to Lance.

Why Taimi is awesome~
  • [Origin of Madness – at Twisted Marionette]
  • Taimi: Hi hi hi. Are you a friend of Braham's? I am. Or rather, I will be. Soon.
  • -
  • Taimi: Braham! There you are.
  • Logan Thackeray: Somebody care to tell me why this child was on the battlefield?
  • Braham Eirsson: Hey! I'm not a child!
  • Logan Thackeray: Not you. This asuran girl. I found her out there, trying to get to Scarlet's twisted marionette. Who does she belong to?
  • Braham Eirsson: Oh. Her.
  • Taimi: Help! Help! Save me from this creepy human!
  • Logan Thackeray: It's okay. I'm a Krytan Seraph. The kid's in no danger.
  • Taimi: Braham! Don't let him take me away! Please!
  • Logan Thackeray: Are you her guardian?
  • Braham Eirsson: Who me? Wolf's teeth, no! I've never seen her before in my life.
  • Taimi: Braham, you're so mean. Can't we just go home now?
  • Logan Thackeray: Listen, buddy. I don't know what your game is, but you better get this kid to safety. She's got no business on a battlefield.
  • Braham Eirsson: What? I swear I've never seen her before in my life.
  • Braham Eirsson: Hey! Where's he going? You're not my responsibility!
  • Taimi: It's okay, Braham. You can take me home now. I live in Rata Sum.
  • Braham Eirsson: Huh? What?
  • Taimi: Where do you live? Maybe we could go there instead.
  • Braham Eirsson: No. You found your way here. You can find your way back.
  • Taimi: Fine! Here I go. By myself. Off into the big city. You'll probably never see me again, Braham.
  • Braham Eirsson: Good luck, kid.
  • -
  • Logan Thackeray: What does a little squirt like you know about Scarlet, anyway?
  • Taimi: As it so happens, I know a lot. I've been studying her for months. I came to meet her, but she didn't show up.
  • Marjory Delaqua: To meet her? Why would you want to do that?
  • Taimi: Because she's brilliant, of course. My theory is that she knows something about the dragons, and that's why she's building an army.
  • Logan Thackeray: Your theory, huh? You don't think she's just a big ol' meany?
  • Taimi: Do you always talk like a four-year-old?
  • *Burn Logan BURNNN*
  • --
  • [Edge of the Mist]
  • Braham Eirsson: What's your story anyway, Tiny? How does a little thing like you get into such big trouble?
  • Taimi: It's Taimi. And I'm a progeny prodigy. I've got important people fighting for the right to be my teacher.
  • Braham Eirsson: Important people, huh? Are they real people, or just big-eared figments of your overactive imagination?
  • Taimi: They're real, but they all want to tell me what to learn. I'd rather be like Scarlet and pick my own courses.
  • Braham Eirsson: Wolf's tail, girl! Don't be too much like Scarlet, okay? One's way too many.
  • -
  • Taimi: Braham? Are we still going to be friends when we get back?
  • Braham Eirsson: Wait—are we friends now?
  • Taimi: I think so. You don't boss me around as much as other adults. And when you ask a question, you let me answer it.
  • Braham Eirsson: Well, I'm friends with Frostbite and he can't even talk. So yes, Tiny. We'll still be friends.
  • Taimi: Not if you keep calling me "Tiny."
  • -
  • Taimi: Braham, will you tell me a story while we wait?
  • Braham Eirsson: After you ran off on me? And all the abuse you heaped on me since we got here? I get plenty of that back in Cragstead.
  • Taimi: You don't spend much time around asura, do you? We only abuse people we like. Or those we're trying to improve.
  • Braham Eirsson: Fine. I'll assume you like me. Ahem! "Once upon a time, there was a brave and handsome norn named Braham..."
  • Taimi: Aww, I've heard this one already. From you. Twice.
  • --
  • Braham Eirsson: Did you get in trouble for roaming the camp?
  • Taimi: No. Yes. Zojja gave me extra calculations as a punishment, and I never got to see Scarlet.
  • -
  • Taimi: Hey, Braham.
  • Braham Eirsson: Uh-huh.
  • Taimi: You wanna hear about the new aetherphaser I invented for my golem? I modeled it after Scarlet's tech.
  • Braham Eirsson: Uh-huh.
  • Taimi: It works just fine, but I have to keep adjusting the gorometer.
  • Braham Eirsson: Uh-huh.
  • Taimi: I had to shave down the minious array wheel in order to get it to fit on Scruffy, but I got it.
  • Braham Eirsson: Uh-huh.
  • Taimi: Next, I'm gonna make him a panmetric listening device so he can warn me in advance if someone's sneaking up on me.
  • Braham Eirsson: Uh-huh.
  • Taimi: Hey, Braham.
  • Braham Eirsson: Uh-huh.
  • Taimi: I like you because you're big and dumb.
  • Braham Eirsson: Uh-huh.
  • Braham Eirsson: (laugh) Shut up!
  • Taimi: (giggle)
  • --
  • [Gates of Maguuma]
  • Taimi: That structure is unstable. It would be unwise for us to go in. Scruffy's scan confirms that it won't support all our weight.
  • Taimi: According to my calculations, the most efficient combination would be you, Marjory, and Kasmeer. The rest of us can wait out here.
  • Rox: Did she just call us fat, Braham?
  • Braham Eirsson: Yup, she sure did.
  • Taimi: Facts are facts. The three of us together weigh as much as nineteen Kasmeers.
  • Kasmeer Meade: Great, I'm a unit of measurement.
  • --
  • Kasmeer Meade: That gap is too large. I can't get us across from here.
  • Taimi: Have no fear. The option to have Scruffy toss us over is still—
  • Rox: No.
  • --
  • [Prosperity’s Mysterious Room]
  • Taimi: Look, look, look! This is a historical find!
  • Marjory Delaqua: Careful, now. You'll pop a gasket.
  • Taimi: She hasn't been here in a very long time. This—oh, and that! Great glarrgh!
  • Marjory Delaqua: Language.
  • Taimi: Sorry. I didn't know you spoke ettin.
  • --
  • [Entanglement]
  • Taimi: Okay. It's all yours. Use the console to fry some Inquest.
  • Braham Eirsson: It isn't going to blow up in our faces, is it?
  • Taimi: Don't be silly. The chances are so slim as to be negligible. About..oh, fifty-three percent. I've tagged us all nonhostile.
  • --
  • Taimi: Hold on. Activating defenses.
  • Marjory Delaqua: You're absolutely sure this won't kill us?
  • Taimi: Absolutely. I'd give it a solid fifty-three percent chance.
  • Marjory Delaqua: I beg your pardon? Maybe you shouldn't—
  • -
  • Kasmeer Meade: It's...beautiful.
  • Marjory Delaqua: And we're still alive. That's a plus.
  • Taimi: Of course we're still alive. I was joking about the the fifty-three percent. It was more like seventy-eight.
  • --
  • [The Dragon’s Reach]
  • Taimi: Don't touch anything!
  • Councillor Phlunt: Progeny, do not speak to your elders in such a tone! I won't have it.
  • Taimi: I thought you'd never get here. Did you stop off at the Dead End for a pint and a pie or something?
  • -
  • Taimi: Well, Councillor Phlunt, I'm sorry to report that I've completely wasted your time and the waypoints will now be destroyed by Mordremoth.
  • Councillor Phlunt: What?
  • Taimi: Just kidding. My patent-pending waypoint recalibration device is now complete.
  • -
  • Taimi: I've checked and double-checked the settings on everything. I'm 59.6 percent certain nothing will blow up in our faces. Don't worry.

i already told @spacepearl about this but here’s my Voltron college AU

  • okay so Shiro joined the army right out of high school bc he needed help with tuition and he was all for serving in the army and anyway now he’s back home and ready to go to college
    • he went through some serious shit over there
    • major PTSD
    • yeah he still lost his arm
  • despite all of that, he is Ready To Learn™ and is putting as much dedication into his education as he did into being in the army
  • Lance is that flirty bisexual nerd who is cute and attractive but he can’t get the girls bc he’s an unintentionally insensitive dick
    • but really he’s just seriously homesick and trying his best to get on in a place with only one person he really knows
  • Lance is also a major slacker, but he’s still competent and passes his classes
    • he has ADHD and can’t focus in classes, fight me
      • Shiro is trying to help him but we’re getting there
  • and Keith is that loner who comes from a really bad family/background and he doesn’t believe that people have the ability to be good and nice to him
    • he ends up dropping out of college after his first semester because he just can’t get along with other students or professors, and he refuses therapy
  • and Pidge is trying so hard to become respected in the field of computer science and information systems but they’re being fought by the System every step of the way
  • and Hunk got in on a football scholarship but he’s honestly so smart and good at chemistry????? like he walks circles around everyone and the profs don’t even understand how he knows what he knows
    • my gUY
  • and Allura is an associate professor (she hasn’t quite finished her doctoral degree yet) and she lives with her godfather Coran (who is a certified PhD professor) and despite the fact that neither of them teach any classes with Team Voltron™, they find them around campus
  • and somehow all of these losers become friends
  • like okay Lance and Hunk have been friends since high school, and Pidge was assigned to be in a group project with them in like a 100-level English Comp class or something
    • and the whole time Lance wants to make the project about aviation (his major) and Hunk is SO BAD at English
    • so poor Pidge is trying to keep them together so that they can all get A’s and never have to take English Comp again
    • somehow it works, and they pass
  • and maybe Shiro has a 100-level College Algebra class with them, and he’s so lost tbh
    • like in general, not just with the math
    • bc this isn’t the army and what the fuck even is civilian life???
  • but Lance and Hunk and Pidge aren’t judgmental at all and they sort of… take Shiro in, despite Shiro being older, just to give him a safe circle to be himself in so that he’s not always Captain Shiro
    • and in turn, Shiro slowly relaxes and is able to help out Team Voltron™ with things that aren’t school (like life lessons, and having a shoulder to cry on, and someone solid to talk to, and, in Keith’s case, someone to teach him combat so that he can work on his tendency to lash out and channel it somewhere)
  • and Keith works a bunch of different jobs in order to stay afloat
  • and one of those jobs is at a coffee shop that Shiro, Lance, Pidge, and Hunk visit fairly regularly, both to do homework and just to hang, and of course Lance knows who Keith is, recognizing him from an intro to aviation class they took together their first semester, and of course Lance thinks that there’s a rivalry there
    • but all Keith cares about is the fact that Lance is doing his fucking homework wrong bc “that’s not how that works, dumbass”
  • anyway, somehow Shiro manages to convince Keith to chill with them sometimes
  • and Lance lets Keith borrow his textbooks bc Keith also really wants to be a pilot but obviously he dropped out bc he doesn’t have the temperament for college classrooms but like he’s been thinking about taking online classes but with what free time????
  • BUT MAYBE like a year later, after hanging out with Team Voltron™, Keith is better with people and he re-enrolls and Lance never shuts up about how much further ahead he is and how much more he knows, but Keith uses that as fuel to try harder
    • as Lance knew he would
      • they’re a great team
  • and Keith ends up getting a perfect GPA in all of his classes bc fuck u Lance
    • they’re so competitive and yeah sometimes it’s destructive but it also often brings out the best in them
  • and they all cheer from the sidelines
  • and maybe they all just chill at Shiro’s apartment afterwards, eating junk food and drinking responsibly
    • Shiro would let them drink so long as he was there to keep an eye on them
      • he’s not stupid, okay, kids drink in college it’s going to happen
      • he would rather them be safe while they’re drinking
  • but sometimes they go out to eat after a win and then they maybe just drive around for a while and then park somewhere and get out, and Pidge tells everyone about the constellations they’re looking at bc Pidge’s dad is an astronomer and Pidge has always been fascinated by space too, despite only ever wanting to work with computers
  • but I think you feel me

“Yooo, I’m bored af right now and need some cp prompts. Can be a ship…”

Holsom, any non-hockey AU. (Coffee shop? Superheroes? Rival bands? Single dads meet cute?)

The first one that jumped out at me was a single dads meet cute because I’ve never written something like that before. It might not exactly be a meet-cute when I finish writing it but the premise I started with sounded cute. Premise: we met because my kid defended your kid from a bully and now they’re best friends and dear god now they’re trying to get us together and I don’t even know if you’re into dudes but damn I would be 10000% okay with us getting together because you’re great with my kid and I love your kid like she’s mine

Final Word count (for this section): 13,993
Also, Dear god this got away from me. I cut it off at a decent spot but it’s not actually where I wanted to finish it. I’ll probably continue writing more and post it later, if anyone wants to read more from this AU.

Adam glanced up from his research when his office phone rang and frowned. No one should be calling him at this time of day. He picked up the phone and said, “Adam Birkholtz, how can-”

“Mister Birkholtz, this is Darlene White with-”

“You’re the principal’s secretary at my daughter’s school, I know.” Adam said, rolling his eyes. God, he hated this woman. She was rude to both parents and students and he really did not know why Dr. Otis kept her around this long. Well, he had his suspicions but he would never actually voice them aloud. “What’s wrong?”

“There’s been an incident with Sasha and we need you to come to the school immediately.”

Every Step
(Pietro Fucking Hell You Are Corrupting Me Maximoff x Wonderful Reader)

Anthony Stark’s parties were always so eventful— considering that he was a genius, a playboy, a billionaire and a philanthropist and also Iron Man. These parties consisted of drinks, dancing, screaming, singing, an occasional clown and/or bouncy house, getting drunk and, of course, sex.

The aftermath would never be complete unless at least one couple would find themselves in a room, on the same bed, naked under sheets and aching all over. And after this particular party, this particular couple happened to be Y/N and Pietro.

Y/N had gotten a little too drunk with the alcohol she had been taking off the trays of the circling waiters as she danced; and Pietro had a little too much to sip from the Asgardian elixir that Thor had brought along. The alcohol got a kick in their systems and their infatuation in one another was boosted, mostly in Pietro.

Y/N had just found a new dance partner and was currently swinging her hips too close to the other man’s for Pietro’s liking. Pietro was at the other end of the room and had long stopped laughing at Steve’s, once hilarious to him, story. His attention was on one person and one person only— Y/N. “She is not mine,” he chanted in his head, hopelessly convincing himself not to storm over and beat the little shit she was dancing with shitless, but when he saw Y/N smash her lips on her dance partner’s, he lost it and sped over to her in less than a second, leaving Steve talking about a rip in his boxers to no one.

Y/N was confused when she opened her eyes and saw that she was no longer in the loud and crowded room but in the corridors of the bedrooms and that she wasn’t alone. Before her, stood Pietro; his face one of anger and angst. She didn’t understand why he was breathing heavily and glaring daggers at her. She had thought she’d seen him on the dance floor not long ago.

“Is this a game to you, Y/N?” Pietro suddenly growled, bringing his face closer to hers. “Do you think what you did was funny?” He snarled. It was then that Y/N noticed that she had been giggling. It wasn’t that anything was funny but it was how she coped with the fact that Pietro and she were alone and their faces were inches apart.

“You think kissing other men is funny, draga?” He exclaimed, banging a fist on the wall beside her head. She flinched in shock, clamping her mouth shut from giggling, and then cocked her head to the side in confusion. Other men? She didn’t have a clue about what he was talking about. In her defense, she had thought she was dancing with him the whole night and that she had kissed him.

At her lack of reply, Pietro was enraged, and acted out by attacking her neck with kisses. “I'll—show—you,” he breathed in between kisses, “What fun is like.” Y/N moaned as Pietro bit down on a particular spot on her neck that sent tingles through her system. Pleased by her pleasure, Pietro proceeded to trail kisses up her neck. Once he’s felt his lips hovering above hers, he froze and looked up at her eyes.

Calum Hood, the schools golden boy. He’s the reason that the varsity team is undefeated for four years. He’s got perfect grades, a scholarship to one of the best colleges in the country. But no one knows his secret, that his passion for music is bigger than his passion for soccer. And what happens when Ember Williams finds out that secret? Read to find out!

Chapter 4

How could I be so stupid? Thinking that I actually had a chance of Calum liking me. Why would he even like me anyway? There is nothing to like about me. I’m not pretty at all, I’m overweight, I’m a book worm, I’m not sociable, I have nothing likable about me.

But seeing him kissing that girl hurt so much. I convinced myself–with the help of Jess–that I might actually have had a chance with Calum. Everything she said about him liking me, made me believe that he did like me.

“God I’m so stupid!” I scream to no one in particular, angrily wiping away the tears from my eyes.

“Hey, no you’re not,” Jess says wiping a stray tear off my cheek. She caught up to me not long after I left Tyler’s house.

“Can we just leave? Please? It was a terrible idea to come here,” I feel so drained of energy, I just want to go and sleep.

“Sure let me just go get Kim,” She gives me a sympathetic smile and pats my arm before leaving to the house again.

It takes about five minutes before I see her emerging out of the door with Kim, Tyler, and Calum behind her. My eyes widen and I try to make myself look as if I hadn’t been crying five seconds ago.

“Tyler said that you were leaving, why so soon? I didn’t even see you get here,” Calum asks, his face full of concern once he gets a good look at my puffy eyes.

You were too busy sucking face with some skinny blonde.

“Ember’s feeling a bit ill, so we’re gonna take her home,” Jess steps in for me when I look at her for help.

“Oh.. Um well feel better,” He scratches the back of his neck, and I know that he doesn’t believe Jess by the way he answers.

I just nod, not trusting my voice. I scramble into the backseat quickly, followed by Jess. Kim is talking to Tyler, and Calum stands there staring at me, looking very confused. I look away from him before I start crying again.

Kim finally gets in and we leave, an awkward silence settling around us, until she breaks the silence, “Ember I’m really sor-”

“Don’t, just don’t. Please,” My voice cracks and more tears start spilling out of my eyes. A sob emits from my mouth, causing me to break down again.

Calum’s POV

I stand there, watching her leave once again. My shoulders slump, and I exhale a long breath.

“What’s up?” Tyler asks softly.

“She wasn’t feeling ill was she?” I ask, not looking at Tyler.

He’s quiet for a minute, then I see him nod, “She was feeling fine. Physically that is,” he says the last part quietly, but I know it’s meant for me to hear.

“What’s do you mean? Did I do something?” I question, feeling worried.

He gives me a sad half smile, “That’s for you to find out yourself, Cal.”

That just confuses me even more, and I knit my eyebrows together looking at Tyler confused. He just pats my back and turns around, heading back to his party.

What was that supposed to mean? “That’s for you to find out yourself.” I comb back through my memories trying to think of what I could have possibly done wrong. I don’t remember saying anything that she could have taken the wrong way. I could have said something, and not even thought of it.

“Ugh!” I groan and put my head in my hands. I stand there for a minute, thinking of what I did wrong, and I literally cannot think of anything. I’ve never been this frustrated, and disappointed, not even when we were losing a game, majorly.

I had finally gotten up enough courage to ask her out, kiss her, tell her how I feel, to do something. I’d wimp out every time I was about to, and before the game I promised myself that I wouldn’t wimp out this time.

Well I guess wimping out isn’t an option anymore.

I sigh and make my way back into Tyler’s house. The loud music starts to give me a headache, and I’m not in the mood to party anymore. I quickly find Tyler, who’s soberly dancing with a very tipsy girl, whose face I cannot recognize due to the fact that her hair is covering it.

I’m glad that Tyler’s not drinking because 1. He would get suspended from the team if he was, and 2. I wouldn’t want him having a drunk hookup, then finding out he got her pregnant, or that he got a STD. He’s my best friend, I’d never want that for him.

We made this pact when we first became friends back in freshman year, that we’d never drink during soccer season–which is a huge rule anyway–and we’d never drink enough to make terrible mistakes. I don’t drink anyway, alcohol is disgusting, and I’d rather remember what I do at all times, plus it’s illegal, so why risk it? Being able to have courage, and not care, is not worth the risk of everything that could go wrong.

“Hey Ty!” I shout over the blaring music.

“Yeah?” He turns his attention away from the girl who doesn’t seem to care, and walks away, latching onto another dance partner.

“I’m gonna head home.”

He frowns, “I thought you were gonna help me clean up the mess, then spend the night?”

“I’ll make it up to you, promise.” I give him a smile, and he nods, knowing that I will.

“Okay, drive safe man,” We do our hand shake-chest bump, quickly.

“I will. You be safe too,” I give him a serious look and he grins, and nods.

I leave the house and go to my car that was parked in the driveway. Thankfully there are no cars behind it, so I get just leave. Once I start the car, I plug in my phone and hit shuffle. I immediately recognize the song, and get an idea of how I’ll tell Ember how I feel.

Ember’s POV

Once we got back to my house, we went to my room and I collapse on my bed. I swore to myself that I’m done crying, but I still feel like I had tears wanting to come up.

“Hey, you’ll get over him. If he’s superficial enough to play tonsil hockey with her, then he doesn’t deserve you,” Jess says softly as she sits down on my bed and starts rubbing my back.

“I just thought he was different. And I really thought he might have even slightly liked me, no thanks to you,” I grumble, turning to face her.

She just gives me a sad smile, “I know Em, and I’m sorry. I truly thought that he liked you.”

I just sigh, “Whatever. I’ll get over it. He’s just a boy. A very cute, smart, nice boy who I’ve liked since the seventh grade, no big deal,” I rant sarcastically.

“It’ll all work out eventually,” Kim finally speaks up.

I just nod, then stand up, announcing that I’m going to the bathroom. I shut and lock the door once I get there. The second I look into the mirror, I instantly regret it.

My eyes are so red and puffy, and I have tear tracks all down my cheeks.

This boy is having such a huge affect on me, it’s like I caught him cheating.

But he was never yours in the first place.

I splash some cold water onto my face, trying to get rid of the pathetic tear stains, and red eyes. I eventually give up, then change into my pajamas; sweats and a big t shirt.

Once I emerge from the bathroom, I see Kim and Jess sitting on the bed smiling at me. I notice three pints of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and my favorite movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

“Let’s get your mind off things,” Kim smiles and pats the spot next to her.

I sit down, and we turn on the movie, and get sucked in, immediately forgetting that I was crying about Calum not ten minutes ago.

Monday morning rolls around all too quickly. I dread going to school, and mainly seeing Calum. I don’t what I’ll do, or say around him.

The weekend went by way too fast. Saturday morning Kim had to go home, for a reason I don’t know, she just rambled whole bunch of nonsense, and I was half asleep, so that explains why I can’t remember. When Jess and I woke up around noon, mom made us chocolate chip pancakes. She only makes those for me when I’m sick, or something bad happened like when I was ten and my pet hamster died.

I know that she knows something about what happened last night. I came in with tears rolling down my eyes, and in the morning three pints of ice cream were in the garbage, plus the pancakes. She asked me about it, am I just shrugged it off, not wanting to talk about it. She understood, like the kind mother she is, but I know she’ll want to know what was wrong eventually, and I’ll tell her. Just not now. It hurts too bad right now.

“Come on Luce, we’re gonna be late!” I call up to my seven year old sister who takes longer getting ready than I do.

“I’m coming!” She grumbles and stomps down the stairs looking adorable in her pink tutu.

Apparently it’s dress up week at her school, and she gets to wear whatever she wants. I wear whatever I want to school–normally just jeans and a t shirt–so i’m down with her wearing what she wants.

We get in the car, and I only speed five miles over, to get her to school on time. It’s a deal I made with my parents when they bought me a car, I have to take Lucy to school every day, take her to ballet class, and run whatever errands they need me to run. It’s a deal I gladly made in order to get my own car.

“Have a wonderful day sweet cheeks,” I call her by her nickname that she hates, and she sticks her tongue out before retreating to the school.

I hurry to my school, blasting Green Day throughout the speakers, preparing myself for the dreadful Monday ahead.

Finally lunch time is here, but I don’t feel like eating. All of my previous classes dragged on and on, never seeming to end.

I reluctantly join Kim and Jess in the lunch line, grabbing a few things that don’t look appetizing, and make my way to our usual spot after paying for my lunch.

Kim and Jess follow me quickly, sitting down and we start talking about something I don’t know, because I over hear Shannon Wesley talking to one of her fake “besties” about her great hook up on Saturday.

“I knew that he totally wanted me, and by the way he treated me at the party proved it. Calum is so hot, he’s like a walking sex god. His abs are amazing.”

I squeeze my eyes closed, holding back fresh tears. I hear a snap, and feel a sharp sting in my hand, but don’t think anything of it.

“Ember, are you okay?” Kim asks touching my shoulder.

“Yeah, why?” I lie through my gritted teeth.

“You’re kinda.. bleeding,” She answers, sounding like question.

I look down to my hand, to in fact see that I am bleeding. I see that I was squeezing my glass soda bottle so hard that I cracked, and broke the neck of it. A tiny part of the glass sticks into my hand, causing the wound to bleed.

“Oh,” I whisper. I grab my napkin, and clean up the blood traveling down my hand.

“You need to go to the nurse’s office.” Jess says worriedly.

“No! Calm down, its just a tiny piece of glass, I’ll just go get it in out in the bathroom,” I shrug it off.

“We’ll come with you,” Kim volunteers, and I wave her off.

“No you guys stay and eat. I’m a big girl, I can take care of myself,” I wink at them, and get up to go dump my tray.

Out of the corner of my eyes I can see Calum approaching me, so I scurry to the trash cans, dumping my tray and throwing it on the stack of other dirty trays. I head to the door, but he catches up to me, standing right in my path.

“Ember, can I talk to you for a minute?” He asks sweetly, and I can’t look at him, without seeing him and Shannon kissing.

“No, sorry,” I start to walk around him, but he grabs my arm.

“Why not?” He looks so hurt, and it makes me feel terrible for being rude to him.

“Because,” I yank my injured hand away from him, clutching it in my other hand.

He see’s the piece of glass, and takes my hand carefully in his, “What happened?” He asks, looking concerned.

“A glass broke, now excuse me,” I pull my hand away a second time, ignoring the feeling I get when his skin touches mine, and walk past him.

“Can I help?” He catches up walking beside me.

“No, I’ll be fine. Thanks,” I answer, hurrying into the empty girls bathroom, finally getting away from him, just as the tears escape my eyes.

How could I not recognize that it was Shannon at the party? Perfectly skinny, gorgeous blonde hair, as much as I hate to admit it she’s extremely pretty too. Everything guys would want, and everything that I don’t have.

I can’t help but feel disappointed build up towards Calum, hearing that he hooked up with Shannon. I really thought that he was different, but I was wrong. He’s just like every other guy in this school.

I run some cold water over my hand, and take the piece of glass out. It was just a small piece, it didn’t go in very deep, so it stops bleeding after a few seconds. I wash it, only wincing slightly at the stinging of it, and dry it. I find then put a bandaid in my backpack and put it on it.

After I finish cleaning up the cut, I think of Calum, and the tears continue on flowing. After about ten minutes of crying, not crying, then bursting into tears again, the bathroom door opens. I start to panic, not wanting anyone to see my tears.

“Ember?” I recognize Jess’s voice, and instantly relax knowing that it’s just her and Kim.

“Yeah,” I croak and they turn me around, noticing the tears.

“We saw you talking to him. What did he say?” Kim asks softly.

“He hooked up with Shannon,” A sob leaves my mouth, and Jess’s arms are instantly around me, holding me tightly.

“He told you that?!” Kim asks incredulously.

I shake my head, “No, Shannon was talking to her friend about it during lunch,” I mumble into Jess’s shoulder.

“That fucking skank! I’m gonna kick her ass,” Jess fumes. She rarely curses, and when she does, you know that she’s really pissed.

I grip her tightly and shake my head. She calms down, and helps me calm down. I let go of her, pulling my head away to smile at her once I’ve stopped crying.

“God, I feel like such a baby,” I mutter wiping the last tears away.

“You’re not a baby. You have a perfectly fine reason to be crying,” Kim hugs me tightly for a moment then lets go.

“Let’s get out of here before someone comes in,” I mutter, turning to splash cold water on my face, making the redness in my eyes go down slightly.

I dry my face quickly, and we exit the bathroom. I look up from the floor and see Calum across the hallway talking to Tyler. He notices me, and starts to walk over to us. The bell rings saving me from talking to him again.

I walk away to World History, taking one last glance at his frowning, confuse face.

World history drags on, and for once I’m actually glad that it does. I’m only glad because next hour is Spanish with Calum, and I’ll have to talk to him.

When the bell does ring, I sit in my seat for a few extra moments, before getting up, slowly heading to Spanish.

I find my seat, getting out my binder for the class, starting working on the project again. Calum enters with Tyler, and I feel his eyes on me. I don’t look up though, I can’t, or I know he’ll see right through me.

The bell rings, and Mr. Garcia tells us to group up, and that today will be the last day to work on the project in class. He announces that it’s due on Friday, and if we don’t finish today he expects us to find a way to finish outside of school.

Calum makes his way to where I’m sitting, and pulls a chair over to where I’m sitting.

“Ember?” His voice comes out soft, and cautious.

“Yeah?” I answer, still looking at my notes.

“Why are you avoiding me?” He sounds so hurt.

“I’m not avoiding you,” I try to sound casual.

“Then why aren’t you looking at me?”

I just shrug, not knowing what to say.

“Ember, please look at me,” He sounds so desperate, I can’t help but look up at him.

He suddenly looks pained, “Have you been crying?”

“I-I… The glass, it um.. Got stuck really far in, and hurt a lot..” I sputter, not making eye contact.

“I don’t believe you,” He replies quickly.

“Good for you,” I deadpan.

It’s quiet for a moment, then Calum speaks, and I almost don’t hear him from because of how quiet he is.

“What did I do?”

I look up at him, instantly regretting what leaves my lips.

“Why don’t you go ask Shannon?”

“What?” He asks, looking extremely confused.

“I said, why don’t you go ask Shannon. You seemed to be getting pretty cozy with her at the party,” I reply coldly.

His mouth widens, as if he just figured something out, “That!

“That’s what you’re upset about! You saw me kissing Shannon didn’t you?” He grins, and it hurts seeing how happy he is.

“Oh my god Ember, you have no idea how relieved I am.”

I just shake my head, “Well I’m glad you are,” I retort sarcastically, looking down, not allowing myself to start crying over this idiotic boy again.

“It was a dare, Ember.”

My head shoots up, not believing what I just heard.

“It was a dare. We were playing truth or dare, and she dared me to kiss her,” He smiles at me, looking so relieved.

“Did she dare you to hook up with her too?” I glare at him.

“What?!” He exclaims.

“I said did sh–” I begin to repeat myself, but he interrupts me.

“No, I know what you said. How did you come up with that?” His eyebrows knit together.

“I overheard her telling her friend about how great of a hook up you are,” I explain, rolling my eyes.

He begins to laugh, and I get confused.

“I never hooked up with her. Hell, I’ve never hooked up with anyone and I wouldn’t have her  be my first.”

My eyes widen, and once he realizes what he just admitted to me, his so too, and his cheeks turn red.

“So you didn’t hook up with her?” I say hopefully.

“No, I went home right after you did. And I didn’t even want to kiss Shannon, but it was a dare. I gotta keep my tough guy rep up,” he winks playfully at me and I giggle a little, “also I didn’t want to be rude and say no, but now I think I should have.”

I nod, “I’m sorry Calum. I’ve been acting really bitchy, and I shouldn’t have believed her. I just always assume the worst..” I look up at him apologetically.

He smiles softly, “How about you make it up to me by meeting me in the band room after school?”

I just nod and smile, wondering what he’s up to. We work on the presentation until the bell rings, then when I start leaving he grabs my hand, sending a shock of electricity through me when he does.

“I’ll see you in the band room after school,” He squeezes my hand lightly and I nod, not trusting my voice.

He smiles at me, then let’s go of my hand, and walks over to Tyler. I can still feel the tingling on my hand even when he’s gone.

This boy is putting me on a roller coaster of emotions.

My last hour goes by slowly, and for the first time today I wish that it wouldn’t. I have no idea what Calum has planned, but I’m really nervous.

The class finally ends, and I hurry to my locker, shoving my books into it. I then head to the band room, my hand shaking, and my stomach tying itself in knots, as if I could throw up any minute.

I push the door open and see Calum pacing around the room, a guitar case on the floor next to a chair.

“Hey!” He exclaims, looking as if he’s out of breath.

“Hey,” I reply softly.

He just smiles at me, and I look between him, and the guitar tilting my head in the wonder.

“So…” I trail off

“Oh yeah! Okay um…” He snaps back to reality, and I find it adorable. He scrambles around for a chair, and puts it across from the one that was already there.

“Have a seat,” He starts to nibble on his bottom lip, and that distracts me for a second. I sit down, staring up at him.

“So um I’ve been wanting to tell you something for a long time, and I could never find a way to tell you, but I finally have.”

I just nod, getting nervous. He sits down in the chair across from me, grabbing the guitar, and clutching it in his shaking hands.

“Okay.” He takes a deep breath then starts strumming.

(Here’s a link to the song)

“I’d be more of a morning person

If I got to wake up next to you

Well, let me ask you something

Would you be one too.”

I don’t recognize the song, but I listen intently to the lyrics.

He ends the songs and looks up at me. My eyes bore into his, trying to figure out what he meant by the song choice.

“That was amazing,” I whisper, still staring into his eyes.

“Thanks,” He replies, setting down the guitar, looking as if he’s collecting his thoughts.

I stand up and walk over to the piano, softly pressing down on the keys, “But I don’t get it. Why’d you sing it to me?”

It’s silent for a few moments before he lets out a shaky breath,  “Because I like you.” He says softly, just above a whisper.

“What?” I breath out and turn around to see him standing right in front of me.

“I like you Ember, I’ve liked you for a long time, and I never knew how to tell you,” he admits, his eyes full of insecurity and uncertainty.

“Wha- w-why?” I ask completely seriously.

He’s clearly shocked by that, staying silent for a minute, then he finally speaks, “Why not?”

I just look at him, “Why not?” I repeat him, and he nods.

“Because I’m me. Boring, unsociable, not popular, not pretty, not skinny, there are so many reasons.”

“Do you really think that little of yourself?” he takes a step forward.

I simply nod, distracted by the scent of him.

“Well I disagree completely,” he states, and I look up at him, furrowing my eyebrows together.

“I don’t think you’re boring at all. And as for not being popular, or sociable, I could honestly care less. It doesn’t matter that you’re not skinny, and no you’re not pretty.”

I look down, not wanting him to see how much that hurt. I feel Calum getting closer to me, our chests almost touching. Two soft fingers lift my chin up, to meet his intense gaze.

“You’re gorgeous,” he whispers, and I exhale the breath I didn’t know I was holding in.

He closes the distance between us, leaning in slowly, and this time nothing interrupts him.

Author’s note:

Chapter 6

Telepaths: 101

Okay, so here is part one of this new series (thank you to the person who submitted the original prompt to me) I know it’s short, but I’m exhausted and need to go to bed, so the next part will be longer, I promise :)

>> i will also fix any mistakes tomorrow

He couldn’t really do coffee shops or stores or crowds or anything that involved more than one person at a time.

At least, not until now, when he’d finally grasped how to keep people out and only let a few people in

Mind reading was by far the worst talent Castiel ever could have asked for. As a child, he’d grown up listening to how his friends wanted to know what the other person was thinking, but he did know and it wasn’t always pleasant.

Example A: He knew when his parents were getting a divorce before he even understood what it meant. His mother and father fought all the time, but the real war happened silently in their heads. Except to him, of course - it was just as loud as their screaming matches.

Example B: No one could really lie to him, so he always knew when the kids at school didn’t actually like him. That was never a fun experience to have.

Example C: The guy that had asked him to prom his senior year in high school had only done it to see if he could get in his pants. He’d only agreed to go with his date so he wouldn’t have to go alone.

Needless to say, Castiel did not like being a telepath. It wasn’t fun and for most of his life he hadn’t been able to control it. When he’d turned eighteen years old, he’d been accepted into several different universities, but the idea of college was overwhelming - all of those thoughts, distractions, and secrets? It was too much.

However, that summer, he’d ended up meeting a young man who happened to have the same exact ability as him. They could read each other’s minds and speak to one another silently. That summer, Castiel learned how to let people in and shut others out. Now, he no longer had to hear secrets, and could eavesdrop in the most invasive way possible if he felt the urge.

Which he never did.

He wasn’t a rude telepath after all.

Things Change

Me and Calum have been friends for as long as I can remember. Through our friendship we’ve been through almost everything together from those late nights when our fears came to life or to when we first got our licenses, even though he failed three times, and everything in between. I guess you can say we were inseparable. But good things always have to come to an end because things always change.

Y/n pov

“Y/n are you ready it’s almost time to leave?” I heard my mother yell while I was staring at my mirror debating what to wear for today.

Today was the big day well not really, it’s not graduation or anything but today is the senior field trip to (name of cool amusement park ig). Not only that, but the day I decide to ask my best friend Calum out. I end up picking my black skater skirt with my (well Calum’s) drop dead shirt tucked in with his flannel on and my black converse. It was normal for me to be wearing Calum’s clothes but today it felt weird for some reason.

(skip the ride to school and yea)

On the bus I sat next to Calum all he kept saying was how excited he was because it was his first time ever going to an amusement park but I really didn’t listen I was too busy admiring how adorable he looked blabbering on about the park. I couldn’t help but notice that he was sitting really really close to me to the point where my thigh was almost on top of his and then when I least expected it, HE PUT HIS HAND ON MY THIGH(I fucking nutted jkjk)  but he put his hand on my thigh and he just kept it there the whole bus ride. I don’t know if he knew what he was doing or if it was just a friendly thing but I don’t believe I ever felt butterflies like this ever before.

We finally arrived to the park and we were the only school there. All off us were so confused. “We’re a little early, the other schools should be arriving soon," Ms. Hernandez said. About five to ten minutes later the other buses arrived and damn where there hella other students. I’m not going to lie the girls from the other schools were fucking beautiful. I even noticed Calum looking at some of the girls too, which hurt like a punch in the gut. There was one girl in particular that I noticed though she was skinny ,blond haired and blue eyed she seemed to notice him staring because she looked at him and just kept smiling at him. I would’ve died right then and there but I felt someone grab my hand I looked up to see who the hand belonged to and seen Calum looking down at me, smiling and saying " I don't need my princess getting lost now do I?” I laughed and said “Yeah we wouldn’t want that happening." Princess I loved when he called me that but he only meant it in a friendly matter.

After we signed into our teachers we were off alone in an amusement park for 2 days alone no teachers or adult telling us what to do. Calum and I, still walking hand in hand, decided to go to the furthest rides since everyone was going to be at the first ones. We were walking in a peaceful silence until Calum broke the silence.

"Did I tell you how beautiful you look today especially in my clothes. You should start wearing my clothes more often. You look better in them than I do.”

I stopped and laughed “ is Calum Hood actually complimenting me or do my ears deceive me?”

"Nope I actually complimented you and I should do it more because you look so cute all blushing and shit.“

"Shut up Hood . But are you okay?”

“I’m fine. Why do you ask?"

” ‘Cus you’re being oddly nice.“

"Can’t a man just be nice to his best friend?”

And there it was the friend zone line. His phone began to ring and he walked a little away. I silently thanked the gods for getting me out of that awkwardness. He came back after about 3 minutes on the phone and he looked angry.

“What’s wrong Cal?”

“Fucking Luke and Ash need me for some dumbass reason.”

“Why are you so angry then, they always want to do dumbass things.” I said laughing nervously.

“It’s because I told them not to bother me today and.. just fuck never mind fuck it you won’t understand, " he said harshly just standing there.

"Oh okay well don’t you have somewhere to be.” I said sounding a little hurt.

“ Oh my god y/n no I didn’t mean it like that I just.  IJustWantedToBeWithYouTodayWithoutBeingBothered.” he said all at once.

“It’s okay Cal go with them I’ll be right here when you get back .”

“Okay love. I’ll try to get back as soon as I can.” he shouted running towards the direction I take the guys were in.

'What the fuck is up with him today?’ I thought to myself. My phone then rang jumping me out of my thoughts. At first I thought it was Cal saying he was coming back but instead it was Michael.

“ Girl do I have news for you!!! Where are you I need to tell you in person?”

“I’m by the water fountain thingy towards the back (idk if your amusement park has that but yea).”

“I know where, I’ll be right there don’t move.”

A minute or two later I saw Michael running towards my direction.

“What Mikey?” I said laughing at his excitement.

“ I heard from a little bird that a boy was going to ask his best friend out today! And guess who the boy and the best friend are… YOU AND CALUM!”

“…What?!?! You’re lying. No that can’t be true… oh my fucking god is that why he’s been acting so weird today.”

“No shit y/n! I told you he’ll come 'round one day.”

“Oh. My. Fucking. God.” I said nearly crying with tears of joy. "Well you better get going before he sees you here and gets suspicious.“

"Okay y/n/n. Text me how it goes later. Love you.” he said walking away.

I sat on the edge of the fountain waiting for Cal to come back. 30 minutes have passed and he still hasn’t came back. Then a hour passed and I was beginning to become hungry so I went to get some food I came back but he still wasn’t there. I called Him and no answer. Texted him but no reply. I heard someone coming and I thought it was Calum but no it was just a guy passing by but stopped when he seen me. He came up and said

“Hey you’re not going to the party by the pool area? Since there’s no teachers someone decide to have a little party thing. Everyone is there well I guess almost everyone,” he said meaning me.

“No I’m waiting for a friend.”

“well your friend is dumb for leaving such a beautiful girl alone while they party and by the way I don’t think you’re friend we be 'round anytime soon. The party is pretty live right now.”

“Oh well I'll think 'bout the party. Thanks for the invite though.”

“Anytime love. And if you do swing by don’t be afraid to say hi. By the way names Gabriel but you can call me Gabe.”

“Okay I might just.” I laughed. "And my name is Y/n.“

"Lovely name for such a lovely girl.” he said shaking my hand. “Hope to see you there, it’ll be boring without you," Gabe said walking away slowly letting my hand go.

After another 30 minutes of waiting and still no sign of Calum I decide to stop by the party. I went in the direction that Gabe went in and then I noticed that Cal went this way too. I eventually found the party by following the sound of the music. I felt so out of place because all the girls were in their bikinis and tipsy and all dancing on the guys trying to look sexy and here I was wearing a flannel and skirt with converse. I was about to leave when I heard some one call my name. I turned around hoping it was Calum but no it was Gabe. I then noticed he was shirtless and damn did he have a nice body. I mean yeah Calum’s body was nice but Gabe’s was something else. You could tell Gabe works out at least twice a day just by looking at his biceps and six pack. I walked towards him not trying to be staring to much at his body.

" Hey Gabe.”

“Hi love glad to see you decide to come 'round.”

“So I guess your friend didn’t come back.” I didn’t say anything but I guess he knew that meant a no. “Well fuck 'em don’t let 'em ruin your time. C'mon lets go get you something to drink.”

“As long as it’s non-alcoholic. I don’t want to see like a killjoy but me and alcohol don’t mix very well.”

“love don’t worry you don’t have to drink. by the way you can’t even bring alcohol in the park and most of these people aren’t old enough to by alcohol so half of them are just acting drunk.” he said laughing and also making me feel better.

While walking to the drinks I tended to look around to see if Cal was around. I began thinking 'would Cal really blow me off for a party?’ ’ I thought he was going to ask me out today, that what people were saying ' I was deep into thought when Gabe stopped quickly in front of me making me bump into him.

“you’re thinking of your friend huh?”

“yea I was just wondering where he could be at”

“He. Huh? Oh Was it that guy you were with earlier? Why is he your boyfriend or something?” Gabe said sounding kind of angry.

“No he is not my boyfriend.” I said defending myself. " And how did you know I was with him earlier?“

"Love, everyone seen you with him. We would’ve thought y'all were dating until we seen him with Brooklyn.”

“Who the hell is Brooklyn!?"

"C'mon love I’ll show you."

You have a boyfriend #794
  • bc basically going through the same thing. 'cept my crush has a girlfriend and yeh.
  • Harry: "Harry, he's just so cute, and sweet." You gush excitedly, flinging yourself down on your bed with the phone pressed against your ear. On the other side of the line, Harry is in his own bed, phone balanced on his chest watching it rise and falls as he breaths. "That's great, m'glad your happy." As you continue your rant on just how adorable this boy is, Harry's eyes gloss over because it suddenly hit him that you're not his, and probably never will be. "hey.. hey, babe. I um, I have to go." He rushes sitting up quickly while rubbing the tears from his eyes. "Oh.. okay, I'll call you later." "Okay." He whispers before hanging up and burying his face in his hands.
  • Liam: When you and the boys agreed to go to the Arctic Monkey's concert together, it was all great. You six hadn't hung out in a while and loved the band, so everything seemed like it was falling into place, up until you brought your new boyfriend. When Liam, who had been crushing on you for some time see's the boy, his demeanor changes. He's no longer sweet, easy going Liam. He goes rigid, eyes slipping down to the red chucks on his feet. "Liam, you okay?" You ask, your hand gently coming up to touch at the fabric of his sleeve. "I'm fine. Go on with your boyfriend." Liam ends up leaving the show early, complaining of a stomach ache, but everyone, including yourself, start to realize the real reason.
  • Louis: Louis had a crush on you from the moment he saw you, a bit cliche but the honest truth. So when he sees you with this guy, who in his defense, is totally not your type, it breaks his heart. "I just don't understand, Haz." Louis admits as he shuts the hotel room door. "I'm a nice guy, been there for [y/n] whenever she's needed me. And she just looks right past me. I mean, I know I'm not the best but.." The older boy stops short as he sits himself down on the bed beside his long-haired best friend. "You're a great guy, Lou. It's just not the right time for you and her, and if it's meant to be, it'll happen. Anyone would be lucky to have you." Louis simply smiles from beside Harry before reaching over tousling the mound of hair atop his head. "Fuck haz, you need a hair cut." "And you need [y/n] to date you." Louis just grins before grabbing his chest "Too soon, Hazza. Too soon."
  • Niall: After spending the day with you, and putting up with your honeymoon phase because of your new boyfriend, Niall is ready to go home and just cry for a while. Niall has been there for you through everything. Through the late nights, through the heartbreaks, through your parents and family issues, it just hurts when you choose someone over him. "Liam?" Niall whimpers into the phone. Now home, and in bed, he needs to let it all out. "What's wrong Nialler?" "It hurts, it hurts because I love her and I have to hear her talk about someone else, and she's never going to love me and, and…" "hey, It's okay. It's alright, I'll be over soon, Niall. We'll talk okay?" Sniffling Niall agrees and hangs up the phone. After talking with Liam for a while, and he will deny this if anyone ever brought it up, cuddling for an hour or so and crying into Liam's arms, he feels a bit better.
  • Zayn: It's movie night. He's finally home from tour and it's your movie night that you two had been planning for months before, the only thing missing from movie night is you. Just before 5, after Zayn had already got the pizza, the movies, the drinks, your favorite snacks, you had called and let him know that you wouldn't be making it tonight, that you had a date with your boyfriend. Zayn is actually heartbroken, and not simply because he had already had everything set up, what hurts the most is the fact you abandoned him for your boyfriend. Sadly, he places himself on the couch, covering up with all the blankets that he had set out, he watches the movies, wishing you were with him. He's not one to show much emotion, but that night, he locks himself in the apartment, with the movies playing, and he cries and draws and does whatever he can to get the thoughts out of his mind.

Congratulations, you survived the trip! Here are some questions I think we all need to know. (I'll ask Jet, too.) What about Jet surprised you? What didn't? What moment (involving Rei) was the most Jet Wolf for you? What moment (NOT involving Rei) was the most Jet Wolf? Who won the most fights? Are you going to be nice to each other now you've met?

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I sort of don’t want to be the first one to answer because ARE WE BEING GENTLE AND SINCERE OR ARE WE BEING DICKS WHO KNOWS.

What about Jet surprised you?

Jet and I have talked A LOT off of tumblr, so we actually knew quite a bit about each other’s ~ways~ before we started the whole thing. I was legitimately surprised that she was interested in hearing me talk about the culture and styles and architecture and class structures and DINNERWARE of the early 1900s (Pittock Mansion really was The House Where Holligay Never Shut Up) I mean not only was she polite and told me to go on, but she seemed really engaged and asked questions and as a huge nerd, it’s SO FLATTERING when someone likes to hear about the stuff you KNOW A LOT ABOUT. HELLO JET MAY I PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW CHAMPAGNE SERVICE HAS EVOLVED FROM THE 1700s to NOW OKAY.

What didn’t?

FIRST OF ALLY’ALL NEED TO KNOW JET IS FULL OF IT. She plays at being so tough, but she was so DEDICATED TO MY COMFORT. I, HOLLIGAY, SHE ASKED ME ABOUT MY NEEDS. But really she was so generous and it didn’t surprise me even a bit but it was so lovely and we even had to fight over whether I got to take them out to dinner one night. Like, she asked me if it was okay that she had ham in the fridge because I’m a Jew level of considerate.

One thing I think people don’t get about Jet is she truly wants everyone to have a good time. When she says on her posts “If this doesn’t work for you, or if it does, that’s fine” she’s not giving a line–sometimes *I* am, but she’s not. We disagree on so much, so much, (Though we align surprisingly high on Michiru) and it’s anywhere between “tiny tweak to the left” to “TOTAL 180″.  But she’s always about everyone experiencing stuff in the way they need to, and anyway this is getting gay so whatever.

What moment (involving Rei) was the most Jet Wolf for you?

What moment (NOT involving Rei) was the most Jet Wolf?

Also, without going into any revealing detail she stood up for me in a situation I wouldn’t have expected literally anyone to–I wasn’t even really standing up for myself–it was, I don’t know, very cool and after it happened I questioned why I would have thought any different from her.

Who won the most fights?

Are you going to be nice to each other now you’ve met?

I mean I think I can be a reasonable soul and if she thinks something differ–

  • you have your first run-in with the paps.
  • Luke: It's been two months since you last saw Luke, so naturally when you joined the boys on tour you and Luke wanted to sneak out for some alone time. Or what you thought would be alone time. You and Luke interlock fingers as you walk around a small town in Northern England. The streets are quiet, and as the wind blows he pulls you closer. "I'm so happy you're here, I needed to see you Y/N." You smile up at him as you make your way around a shop corner. "Luke! Y/N!" The two of you are suddenly blinded as it seems like cameras are flashing from every direction. Within seconds Luke and you are separated, and you helplessly spin in circles screaming as the paps close in- their voices getting louder and louder. Suddenly you feel a firm grip on your arm as you are pulled backwards. "Leave us alone you fucking pricks! Can't you see she's scared!" Luke screamed at the top of his lungs, as he wrapped his arms around you. He continues to yell as he pulls you away from the mayhem. In between his countless apologies you watch him take deep and long breathes, you've never seen him this angry. "It's okay, I'm okay Luke." "This isn't okay." He huffs as he walks in circles with his hands behind his head. "I just…I'm so sorry that happened to you." He states sadly as he pulls you into a tight hug.
  • Calum: "Are you sure you want to go shopping now?" Calum questioned as you and Ash's girlfriend were preparing for a day out on the town. "Yes" you laughed "I love being on tour with you but I'd also like to leave this hotel room." "I know, it's just those paps are everywhere.." He furrowed his brows together as you quickly kissed him. "I'll see you later!" You smile as you shut the door. The day went quickly and as the sun set you all decided that dinner was the best option. After yelping every restaurant in the nearby area you all decided on a cute up and coming italian place. Along the way to the restaurant you ran into a few fans and of course stopped and talked to them. It was because of these lovely people that Cal even had the opportunity to do what he loves. Yet suddenly you saw cameras flash in the distance, and within seconds paps had surrounded you and the girls. Frantic and unable to process what was going on you began to push through the crowd and run. By the time you looked up a car was barreling towards you. You screamed loudly as Ash's girlfriend pulled you back onto the sidewalk. Desperately you all got into the closest cab and rushed back to the hotel. Before getting out you all agreed not to tell the boys what had happened. "Y/N! Are you okay?? I told you that this wasn't a good idea! I have been sitting here sick about this. I read on twitter you were almost hit by a car? Never again. I shouldn't have let you go. I can't believe I could have lost you." Calum ran to you hysterical as you assured him everything was okay.
  • Ashton: You were acting like a gitty school girl the entire day. You were told this morning that the boys manager was able to get you floor seats to see them preform, and you couldn't contain your excitement. Everyone naturally assumes that because you date a band member you get great seats to every show. Sadly, you almost always end up watching from the wings where the view is almost always blocked by some unknown object. The opening acts finished, and you kissed Ashton goodbye telling him to have a great time. "Of course I will, because you're in the audience tonight." He shoots you his big dorky smile as you're cheeks light up. A year later and he still gives you butterflies. "Okay lets get you to your seat." A security guard states as he leads you out into the crowd and to the 5th row. Suddenly the girls around you begin to scream, and within seconds there's a small circle around you- iPhones waving in every direction. You smile as the security guard attempts to detain the situation, yet the tension mounts as girls try to climb the railing and seats to get a better glimpse. Before you can blink an eye the crowd closes in and you begin to hyperventilate, you never handled mobs of people well. "Ashton!" The girls begin to scream as you open your eyes. "Babe oh my god Y/N! Everyone please back up!" Ashton began to yell as he pulled you to safety. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry I didn't think this was going to happen. I need to tell them that this isn't okay, where is my phone. NO better yet I need to go on stage. You could have been hurt!" He stated frantically as he kissed you.
  • Michael: "Hi love! I've just landed, yep I'll see you soon Mikey. I know I'm so excited." You smiled as you hung the phone up. "Excuse me where is baggage claim 5?" You ask politely as the flight attendant pointed down the escalator and to the left. Your heart begins to race as it finally hits you that Mikey will be down there, smiling like an idiot. It feels like ages since you've seen him last and finally today was the day that you were going to be reunited. As you made your way down the escalator you felt your phone vibrating in your pocket. "Yeah I'm coming love! Jeez." You laugh into the phone yet Mikey's tone wasn't as uplifting. "Some prick released to the press that I am in the airport. So I need you to meet me at exit 7 instead. I'm sorry." "Okay I got it babe, don't worry." This sadly happens all the time so you weren't surprised. Within seconds you see a large red illuminated number 5 and head over to grab your luggage. As you reach to pick it up you curse under your breathe, and state how this is the time when having Mikey around is useful. You begin to stroll through the airport slowly passing exit 5, then heading to exit 6. As you make your way past exit 6 you suddenly feel a tug on your bag and before you know it your face is pressed against the cold ground. You look around, disoriented and realize that the paps had not only found you but literally pushed you to the ground. "What the fuck do you think you're doing! Get away from her you pricks or I'll sue your fucking asses off, get away! Babe are you okay. Here let's get you out of here."
Just Shut Up and Kiss Me

Word count: 920
Pairing: Calum and Y/N
Trigger warnings: none
Note: This idea was inspired by a dream I had and I figured writing it down would make for a good blurb.

“Hey I’m almost there, just thought I’d call to let you know. You wanted to meet in front of the…Target?”
You sighed. This boy never listened,
“No Cal, the Macy’s. Honestly I’m shocked how you’ve survived for 19 years. Even with my help.” He chuckled on the other end of the phone.
“Oh yeah, you’re just so much help. What would I ever do without you?”
You hung up the phone just as his car pulled around the corner. Once you’d settled into the passenger seat he said,
“Oh yeah, we need to make one quick stop. That okay?” His fingers nervously drummed on the steering wheel.
“Yeah Cal, what’s up?” He glanced in his mirrors and said,
“Well you know..uh.. there’s that girl..”
You felt your chest tightened.
It was always like this. He only saw you two as friends but you couldn’t get rid of that small tug in your heart. Almost as if there was an invisible cord connecting you to him. He never really listened, did he?
“Yeah. No problem.” After flashing a convincing smile his way, you turned to look out the window.

He pulled into the driveway of the girl’s house and turned off the car. He reached into the backseat and grabbed a bouquet of flowers that you hadn’t noticed before. They were lilies, your favorite. He turned to you,
“I’ll only be a second, okay?”
You nodded, not paying too much attention to him. All you wanted to do was go home and pretend that this hadn’t happened.
You watched as he knocked on her front door and when she answered he gave her the flowers. She didn’t look too impressed but Calum didn’t seem to notice. He never noticed anything. Not even the way you stared at him and the way you blushed when he mentioned that you did, in fact, look nice in that dress.
Caught up in your thoughts you didn’t notice that he’d gotten back in the car.
“Did you see her? She’s pretty cute, huh? Sorry if I took too long, Y/N.”
Torn between wanting to be a good and supportive best friend and being true to the feelings that had been gnawing away at you for years, you decided to just nod in his direction and stay quiet. Calum didn’t notice that anything was wrong. Instead, he continued to talk about this mystery girl the entire drive back to his house up until you had stepped through the front door. He kept asking what you thought of her, as if it mattered. After crossing the threshold, you’d reached your limit and you couldn’t take being quiet anymore. You no longer cared if you were being selfish, these feelings that bubbled underneath the surface needed to escape somehow. Even if it caused tension thick enough to cut with a knife, something had to be said.
“Calum, I-”
“I know what you’re going to say, that I’ve just met her and I had only talked her twice before tonight but look I had to make my feelings known. You understand, don’t you?” You sighed,
“More than you know, okay? But there’s something I really need to-”
"But her eyes are this really cool shade of blue and her hair looks really soft but-.”
He looked at you with shock written all over his face but remained quiet.
“Calum, I know that you’re completely hung up on this girl but, fuck, I really need to tell you something and it’s been eating away at me for so many years and I’m surprised that you never noticed but.. god, I’m so in love with you that it reaches to every fiber of me. I can’t take hearing you speak about this other girl because truthfully I’m not strong enough to stay silent anymore. I’ve known you my entire life and I’m so in love with everything about you. You’re my perfectly imperfect best friend and I love you.” He stared ahead, shellshocked with his eyes out of focus. His mouth hung open slightly as he processed what you’d just spilled to him.
You fidgeted nervously and said,
“Look, Cal I don’t want to mess anything up for you. I just really needed to tell you I’m sorry if I fucked everything up oh god-”
“Will you be quiet, I’m trying to process that my best friend is actually in love with me and I’m not just dreaming.”
Now it was your turn to be shocked and stare, wide eyed.
“Wait, you’re not mad?”
He chuckled softly,
“What? Mad? How could I ever be mad? I just never thought it’d be possible. I mean, I’ve been in love with you my whole life but at some point I just gave up. I figured distracting myself with other girls would help me get over you. I never thought I had a chance.”
It was then that a huge laugh erupted from you, causing tears to stream down your cheeks and for your hands to clutch your stomach. To say Calum was surprised was an understatement.
“What is so funny..?”
You gasped for air and finally once you’d calmed down enough you said,
“It’s just that I always thought you never noticed anything but I guess it was mutual and I just think it’s so funny! We’re just a mess, aren’t we?”
“Well…you’re a mess,” he laughed.
“Just shut up and kiss me.”
