I was rewatching the 3.13 hug for a project. My bf did something in the background - totally unrelated, he was not really paying attention. (He’s not watching the show btw, I couldn’t get him to watch it (yet) beyond the pilot). Anyway, I was rewatching the scene again to catch the right moments when he appeared behind me and said: “What kind of romantic bullshit is this? Can you finally stop?!”
He was mostly hearing the music and the text and caught the Clarke-smiling-into-the-hug part.
An hour or so later, I was showing him the final gifset and Omfg. My dear bf made me laugh with his stupid commentary. “She is smiling because the guy is grabbing her ass.” And I’m not gonna repeat his exact words after this, but yeah… men have dirty thoughts.
I’m never looking at this hug the same again. There, this is saved for eternity.
So, after the reveal in The Black Paladin, it’s been on my mind to wonder about the previous paladins. It’s something that I’d wondered about ever since the black bayard had been lost, of course it was going to show up again, which meant that the previous paladins were important somehow.
It wasn’t a huge shock to reveal that Zarkon was the previous black paladin, but it does make me lean closer to the theory that maybe another of the characters we’ve seen is important.
And then I was rewatching episode 1, with the intro of the various lions and the characteristics of their pilots:
Because, you know who that sounds like?
Someone who was kind and caring.
Someone who is strong and mighty.
Someone who lifted up those they cared about and held them together.
Someone who put the needs of others above themselves.
Someone who might just be wearing typical Altean armor, certainly they enjoy putting those crests on everything, but that yellow color and the characteristics of the yellow lion pilot certainly make me wonder.
After I rewatch all the Sherlock, I decided to start again with the pilot episode and noticed three things that wasn’t in TSIP.
1. Before Speedy’s there was Mrs Hudson little shop, imagine if that made it to TSIP. Neither John or Sherlock would have to worry about food and dinner, Mrs Hudson would’ve make sure her boys were well fed.
2. The cab driver originally took Sherlock back to Baker Street where their little showdown of minds went down, also where John shot him. I think they took that out, because if Mycroft had Baker Street under surveillance, he would’ve known his little brother is in serious trouble.
3. Papa Lestrade most definitely knew John shot the cabbie. In the pilot he looks on as they walked away (into the sunset) with a knowing smile and ripped out the page where Sherlock described the shooter.
And above all else I think this is one of the saddest things they removed, because not only does it clearly show Greg to be smarter than they say, and he genuinely cares for Sherlock if he let’s John walk away.
I don’t think Lestrade gets all the credit and acknowledgement he definitely deserves.
