Word count: 5473

Author’s note: Okay Jughead might just be my favorite character to write and my mind is flooding with more ideas! Get ready for smut, but when you’re reading my stuff thats kinda a no brainer;) As always, tell me what you think!

You were sitting at a lunch table with Betty and Archie trying to make it through another pointless day of school. School seemed like the least important thing when a fellow classmate had just been murdered and nearly everyone in this town was hiding something.

Suddenly Jughead stormed over to you guys with a paper in hand. He slammed it down onto the table getting everyone’s attention, “ They’re shutting down the drive in! Just when I thought Riverdale still had some redeeming qualities they’re shutting down the one thing with actual character in this damn town!”.

Betty put her hands up in a calming manner, “ Woah Juggy….explain”. You slid the paper closer to you and Archie as you read the article. Jughead continued, “ Read it and weap; Twilight Drive-In Will No Longer Twinkle”.

Archie giggled, “ It is creative Jug, you gotta at least give em that”.  Jughead was still fuming and you hated yourself for thinking it but damn he looked good angry. He hovered over the table, “ They don’t understand how important the drive in is!! It’s a beacon of hope is this otherwise poorly lit town!”.

Reading the article aloud you said, “ Twilight Drive-In bought by anonymous buyer, and soon to be torn down immediately after one last showing”. This added to the list of mysterious things that were currently happening in Riverdale.

Betty smiled, “ Well hey at least we can hang out there one more time! We should all go together, I’ll ask Kevin and Veronica to come!”. Jughead sat down taking his beanie off and running his hands through his hair, obviously stressed.

Groaning he said, “ I know Betty but I just hate that there even has to be a last time, it seems like everything good in this town is going to die along with Jason”. For a moment no one knew how to reply to that, it seemed like things were falling apart.

You took a breath in, “ Look Jughead it fucking sucks that the drive in is going to be taken away from us but two things; One- that doesn’t mean we won’t have a place to hangout we can use Archie’s garage and watch movies!”.

Jughead picked up his head to actually listen to you so you continued, “ Two, if you’re especially angsty the entire time you’re not even going to enjoy saying bye”. Betty nodded her head agreeing with what you’d said.

He placed his beanie on his head again, “ Fine (y/n) you’re right but isn’t our most important inalienable right as Americans the right to complain?”. You rolled your eyes and watched the smirk appear across his face.

Archie added, “ She’s right Juggy we can use a projector and white sheet and boom my garage is a mini drive in!”. Betty explained that she could provide both of those things, and reassured him that by no means was it a true end.

He shook his head, “ Alright guys consider me cheered up, BUT we all have to go to the drive in together to send it off the right way”. Of course you all agreed and it was a plan. He added, “ And (y/n) you better be there suffering with me”. Betty got up, “ Alright Jughead why don’t we write our own take on this all?”.

Jughead got up, “ Welcome to your tape anonymous buyer”. They both got up and went to go write for the Blue and Gold, leaving you and Archie alone. You moved so you were now sitting across from him.

He grinned, “ So I guess that’s a date huh?”. You felt a blush creep over your face but still wanted to remain casual, “ What’s a date?”. You knew he was talking about what Jughead had said but you didn’t want to make more out of it.

You really liked Jughead but you were scared he wouldn’t feel the same way. That was an understatement, you were madly in love with him. You’d never met anyone like him before, and you knew noone else could ever compare. Archie rolled his eyes, “ Come on (y/n) why do you always deny things”.

Sighing you explained, “ It was just a comment Archie not an invitation-”. You realized how bad your wording had been when he wriggled his eyebrows in a suggestive manner. Archie smirked, “ What exactly do you want an invitation for (y/n)?”.

Trying to ignore how red you were you said, “ Shut up Archie we can’t all be confident football captains who are simultaneously rockstars”. Archie always insisted that you were just in your own head but it was hard for you to be confident.

He sighed, “ You’re my bestfriend (y/n) and I’m telling you that you have no reason to be insecure! I know Jughead pretty well by now and he likes you”. No matter what he’d say you’d never be able to believe him.

The bell rang but he held up a finger, “ Tonight you’re finally acting on your feelings because I’m not going to be so silent of a wingman anymore!”. Shaking your head you agreed, hoping it would end this topic of conversation.

As you walked to class together Archie winked, “ Who knows maybe you’ll see him in nothing but that stupid beanie of his”. Laughing you hit him in the arm, he always knew how to cheer you up.

You parted ways as Archie went to geometry and you went to your independent study; aka a free period where you pretended to write for the Blue and Gold with Betty. When you walked in Betty was so preoccupied she didn’t even notice you.

Sitting down next to her you asked, “ What’s wrong Betty?”. She was typing away, but seemed completely stressed out.

Looking up from the screen she replied, “Where do I begin? My parents are fighting, Polly won’t come home, I have to write for my parents news paper, edit my article, AND interview Jughead about the Drive- In!”.

Betty got a look on her face and you knew you were in for it, “ Unless you interview Jughead for me tonight!!”. You shook your head but she’d already taken both your hands in hers, she was way too excited.

She nearly screamed, “ This is perfect! Now you have an excuse to be alone with Jughead and you’ll actually be doing something for this class!”. She’d set her mind to something and there was no changing that.

Reluctantly you agreed, “ Fine, but don’t get your hopes up Betty”. She nodded her head and beamed with excitement. Between her and Archie you never heard the end of it, they SWORE Jughead liked you.

Betty clapped her hands, “ Okay the show is at six tonight, come to my house around five to get ready and we’ll go together!”. You nodded your head and felt the butterflies in your stomach thinking about what tonight could bring.

For the rest of the period you helped Betty edit her article, and gave her advice about the other five-hundred topics that were stressing her out. Betty had been a close friend of yours for a long time and any chance you could repay her for how much she’s helped you you’d take.

Before you knew it the bell rang which meant school was over and you were closer to your “date” with Jughead. Walking out of the room Betty smiled, “ Tonight’s the night (y/n)”. How happy she was for you made you smile.

Archie caught back up with you, “ Tonight’s the night?”. You automatically rolled your eyes at the smirk on his face. Walking out of school you replied, “ Betty’s making me interview Jughead tonight so we’ll be alone”.

Pushing open the door for you he whistled, “ Tonight is the night then”. You stopped in your tracks, you’d had enough of the teasing today. Archie put his hands up defensively, “ I’m just happy for you (y/n), I want something to happen because I know you want it”.

You couldn’t be angry for that, “ All right Arch, just tone it down with the teasing?”. He nodded his head and continued to walk you home. Archie was neighbors with Betty, and they both lived down the street from you.

Betty would’ve walked with you but she went right to her parents paper. You were on your street when Archie asked, “ You trust me right (y/n)”. It seemed like such a pointless question so just told him yes.

He continued, “ Then why do you think I’m always setting you up for failure when I tell you to go for Jughead?”. You weren’t expecting it to be that deep of a question and you didn’t know what to say for a moment.

You answered honestly, “ It’s because I can’t see someone feeling that way about me Archie…”. He turned around to face you, making you stop in your tracks. Archie raised an eyebrow, “ You’re kidding right?”.

You avoided his gaze and he knew you were serious. He placed a hand on your shoulder, “ I love you so much (y/n) and I just wish you could see what I see….what EVERYONE sees! You deserve to be happy because you make so many people happy! You’re one of the reasons this town doesn’t completely suck!”.

You couldn’t help but smile, you knew he was being sincere. He smiled too, “ See there it is, that contagious happiness! And no one needs that more that Jughead, he’s happier when you’re around (y/n)”.

Archie never really got this emotional often, which is why it was so different this time. You actually started to believe him, “ Alright Arch I believe you I just have to keep repeating what you’re saying when I’m insecure”.

He placed a hand over his chest, “ Thank god, I was starting to feel like Betty and that is a lot to handle”. You both started to laugh as you continued to walk home. Smiling to yourself you realized how lucky you were to have the friends you did.

They were such great people and if they saw something in you than damn straight you should also see it. You reached Archie’s house, “ Alright (y/n) remember, tonight is mission finally getting the happiness you deserve”.

You saluted him, “ Alright Sergeant Andrews, mission accepted”. He shook his head laughing, “ Fuck you really are perfect for Jughead”. With that he closed his door, leaving you to finish walking home.

It was another minute walk at the most until you got to your house. You walked through your front door and went right to your room, plopping down onto your bed. Looking at your phone you realized it was already four which meant you had an hour to kill.

You also saw that you’d gotten a text from Jughead that read, “ You better not flake tonight, it takes two to drown in misery”. Smiling to yourself Jughead filled your thoughts again, thinking about him made butterflies take flight in your stomach.

Replying you said, “ I thought it took two to tango…mixing your metaphors Juggy how irresponsible”. After sending the text you placed your phone down, and did what ever you could to kill your remaining hour.

Jughead smiled when he read your text, you always knew how to make him laugh. He picked his head up from his phone when Archie threw a pillow at him, obviously wanting his attention. Archie teased, “ You’re texting her aren’t you?”.

Jughead threw the pillow back, “ You’ll need a search warrant to go any further Arch”. Jughead of course was just kidding, he had no problem talking about you to him. Archie laughed, “ I don’t need anything to know when she texts you, it says it all right on your face”.

Jughead laughed, “ I’m that easy to read huh? I guess I’ve been perfecting my “nothing to hide here” face for no reason”.  Archie laughed while moving to the edge of his bed, and Jughead knew he was in for a talk.

Jughead spoke first, “ Don’t worry Archie I know how the birds and bees work”. Archie rolled his eyes, sometimes Jughead just complicated things. He got serious, “ Look Juggy tonight really is special”.

Jughead smiled, “ Why exactly is tonight special Archie?”. He was playing dumb, he knew it had something to do with you but he wanted to see what Archie would say. Archie continued, “ If you want to make a move do it tonight Jug”.

Jughead laughed, “ Seriously Archie?”. He’d gotten super serious over something as simple as (y/n)? Archie held up a finger, “ Jughead you’re taking two long! I know how much you care about her but it’s about time you show her!”.

Jughead raised an eyebrow, “ What should I say, Hey (y/n) could you pass me the popcorn oh and by the way I love you?”. Archie’s jaw dropped, did Jughead just say he was in love with you? Jughead put his hands up, “ No nope don’t go making a big deal out of-”.

It was too late Archie was already standing up, “ Fuck Juggy I knew you liked her but I didn’t know you loved her!”. Jughead didn’t know how to act or even how to respond. He shook his head, “ I love (y/n) okay? I Jughead Jones am in love and by god if you-”.

Archie was smiling like a madman, “ Jug I’m not going to make fun of you, now I’m going to judge you even more if you don’t make a move”. Now Jughead was stressed out again and Archie could tell.

Jughead was pacing, “ It’s just scary okay? I ALWAYS know what to say but when it comes to that?”. Archie couldn’t help but laugh, it wasn’t often that Jughead Jones couldn’t find the words.

Archie intervened, “ Why not let your body talk for you?”. Jughead tilted his head to the side and gave him a classic, “ what the hell Arch” look. Archie laughed, “ Just a joke Jughead, just a joke”.

Jughead wasn’t amused, “ We can’t all be James Deans and Archie Andrews!”. Archie rolled his eyes, “ But you’re more than enough for her Jug, god you two are both so insecure towards the other”.

Archie continued, “ She’s too scared to say it Jughead but I think she loves you too”. Jughead couldn’t help but smile, he never thought you’d feel that way. He smiled, “ Alright Archie don’t worry I know this was enough bromance for you we can go back to talking about….sports…”.

Archie smiled back, “ Sure because we talk about sports all the time Juggy”. They both laughed feeling completely content with the way things were going. They’d never admit it but it felt good to be able to talk about emotional stuff with the other, a brotherhood they never thought they’d get.

You had about five minutes to spare but you’d picked out the perfect outfit. It was a black t-shirt dress with white hightop converse, you felt confident but casual. Anyways you knew Betty would insist on doing your makeup and hair.

Grabbing both your purse and makeup bag you headed towards Betty’s house. Looking at your phone you saw it was ten minutes past five o’clock, and you texted Betty to let her know you were downstairs.

It took her two seconds to rush down the stairs and greet you, “ Come on in (y/n), also that’s a really cute outfit!”. She took your hand and lead you upstairs to her room where you both could finish getting ready.

She had her outfit laid out on her bed, light blue jeans with a yellow blouse and ballerina flats. You smiled, “ I like what you have planned to wear Betty it’s super cute!”.You weren’t facing her so you couldn’t see what she was doing.

Betty had walked to her window where she saw Archie and they both winked at each other, their plan coming together.  They each gave a thumbs up before closing their blinds and continuing with their plan.

Their plan was to make sure that both you and Jughead finally made a move tonight, and to do this they talked you both up. Betty and Archie just wanted to see their best friends happy together, because they knew that’s what you both wanted.

Turning around Betty smiled, “ Aww thanks (y/n)! How are you feeling about tonight, any better?”. Smiling to yourself you couldn’t help but think about how this was the 100th time you’d have to talk about “tonight”.

You replied, “ Better actually after talking with Archie, I’m still nervous but not as nervous as I was”. Betty didn’t know whether to be happy Archie had gotten through to you or jealous that she hadn’t first.

She was glad regardless, “ Really? I’m surprised, but of course still extremely happy! Now are you actually going to make a move?”. Rolling your eyes you didn’t know how much more Jughead talk you could take.

You explained, “ Yes, whatever happens will happen okay? The first thing I say to him isn’t going to be, “ So what do you think about the drive in closing oh and by the way I love you”.

Betty clapped her hands together, “ Love?!!! Oh my god (y/n) LOVE I didn’t think it was this serious oh my god you’re in love…my bestfriend is in love…with my other best friend!!”. Betty was like a snowball rolling down a hill getting bigger and bigger until it explodes.

Going over to her you put your hands on her shoulders, “ Betty calm down…it’s just a word okay?”. You wanted to downplay the whole thing when in reality you knew it was much more than just a word.

She raised an eyebrow, “ Just a word? Do you think that’s just a word to Jughead or-”. You had to cut her off before this spiraled, “ I don’t even want to think about how he’d take things okay? We’re getting WAY ahead of ourselves here like I’m pretty sure you’re hearing church bells”.

Betty started to laugh, “ Okay okay I’m sorry it just makes me so happy because I know how much he cares about you…and to hear you love him! Things couldn’t be more perfect!”. She’d calmed down by now and you were eager to just get the night started and end all this build up.

You smiled, “ Okay good, now how about you help me finish getting ready?”. Betty’s grin returned and she nodded her head. She sat you down in her chair and started to do your makeup, a simple look but with a red lip.

After she was done with your makeup she just looked at you in awe, “ You look so beautiful (y/n)”. Smiling you thanked her, and she then started your hair. Betty did loose curls and it was your favorite look.

When she was finally done you turned around and hugged her, “ Betty I love it, this just boosted my confidence by a thousand!”. She just beamed with happiness as she hugged you back, Betty was just thrilled she could help.

Looking at your phone you realized that it was now time to leave if you wanted to get to the drive in on time. As Betty lead you down the stairs you could see her excitement for tonight growing.

Getting into Betty’s car she laughed, “ You know I’ve been so preoccupied I don’t even know what movie they’re playing”. Laughing you realized you had no idea either. You added, “This is going to be a great article when the last thing I’ve been thinking about is the drive in”.

Within ten minutes you guys arrived at the drive-in and were greeted by both Archie and Jughead. Looking Jughead over you realized how good he looked, he was wearing a black tee with a flannel, back jeans, converse, and of course a beanie.

Somehow you’d both managed to match and you knew Betty was telling herself, “ More proof they’re soulmates”. Jughead looked you over and smiled, “ I can’t place my finger on it but for some reason I really like your style (y/n)”.

He of course was pointing out how similar you both looked, “ Great minds think alike Juggy, and I’m the greatest”. If you’d have looked at Archie and Betty you would’ve seen how happy they were to see you guys flirt.

Betty intervened, “ I guess you should start the interview and Archie and I will find the others”. She couldn’t have been more obvious, but at this point both you and Jughead didn’t mind.

Jughead extended a hand, “ Adventure awaits (y/n), and with it the most astonishing article to ever meet the Blue and Gold”. Betty laughed and made Archie follow her to the concession stand.

Taking his hand you replied, “ Well then who am I to stop such a monumental moment in high school journalism history”. The second you held Jughead’s hand it send shivers down your spine, and it was only the slightest touch.

Jughead lead you to where, “ The magic happens” as he would like to say. Looking around the room you saw the old movie reel, a bunch of old posters, and a small couch. You smiled, “ So what movie are we watching tonight?”.

He clicked his tongue to fake scold you, “ Not even knowing the movie I’ll be showing tonight? That’s just irresponsible interviewing there (y/n)”. You instantly laughed knowing he was just teasing you, and it felt good to see him smile.

After a moment he told you the truth, “ I decided to go soft and select “ It’s a wonderful life” because it’s a classic love story”. You raised an eyebrow, you didn’t expect him to go that route.

You’d never see the movie before, “ What is it about Juggy?”. By now you were standing in front of the movie reel, wanting to know how it worked. You were surprised when you felt him stand behind you and put his hands over yours.

Turning your head your face was inches from his, “ Why don’t I explain it to you while I show you how this works”. You felt his hot breath against your ear and which caused your mind to drift.

All you managed to do was nod your head, the anticipation getting to you.  As he guided your hands over the machine he spoke softly into your ear, “ It’s about a man who wishes he was never born and then an angel comes along to make it true-”.

You turned around to face him, concerned about how much he might relate to the movie. His body was still pressed against yours as you asked, “ Why does he wish he’d never been born?”.

Jughead smiled as he lightly caressed your cheek, “ Doesn’t matter (y/n) because he soon learns how lucky he is…and he falls in love”. You started to realize how much more this movie choice represented.

You placed a hand on his chest, “ Falls in love?” your voice was obviously shaky. Jughead licked his lips, “ He learned the true impact he had on those around him and finally went for what he wanted”.

Instinctively you leaned your head forward and Jughead leaned in as well. Jughead crashed his lips against yours, months of angst finally fizzling away. To your surprise he lifted you up and moved you towards the couch.

He slowly fell onto the couch and kept you on top of him so you were straddling him. As he kissed your neck you jokingly asked, “ What about the interview Juggy?”. To answer you he sucked your skin, causing you to groan.

He kissed his way up your neck until his lips grazed your ear, “ The only words I want to hear are you telling me exactly how to make that pretty little pussy of yours cum”. You nearly gasped, you’d never have expected Jughead to talk like that.

Dirty talk was a huge turn on for you and to know Jughead Jones loved it too, well fuck maybe you were soul mates. Smirking you replied, “ Keep talking like that and we’ll get there soon enough”.

You felt him smile against your skin and you thought you’d melt right then and there. His hands slid up your legs, bringing the hem of your dress with them. Jughead rested his hands on your hips, he wanted you so badly but he didn’t want to rush things.

Smirking you pulled your dress over your head as you took if off completely, “ Finally go for what you want Jug”. You hinted to what he’d said about the movie earlier, wanting him to know you felt the same way without flat out saying it.

As a response he took off his own shirt and then collided his lips with yours. His hands roamed all over your body, he didn’t know what he was searching for. Truth be told he wanted to make sure he wasn’t just dreaming, slumped over his computer.

You started to undo his pants and slide them down his body, barely any layers left separating you. Jughead kissed from your lips down your neck, and stopped at the valley of your chest.

He moved his hands from your hips to your back as he undid your bra slowly letting it fall off. The second your bra hit the ground your nipples became erect because of the cold air. Jughead moved his lips to your left nipple, swirling his tongue around it.

Moaning you encouraged him, “ Shit Jug that feels so good”. With that he started to suck, and massasged your other breast with his hand. Jugheads tongue felt so good on your sensitive nipples and you felt yourself getter wetter and wetter.

Subconsciously you started to grind your hips against him, needing more. Jughead groaned, “ Such a tease baby”. Hearing him call you a pet name turned you on even more so you ran your hands through his hair.

He moaned, “ How do you know all the little things that turn me on (y/n)?”. You just shook your head licking your lips, eager for what would happen next. He dragged down your bottom lip with his thumb, “ Talk to me baby”.

Resting both hands on his bare chest you answered, “ I need you Jughead, make me yours”. Waiting for his answer you grind yourself against him again, and felt his member press against you.

He just shakes his head with a smile on his face, “ Those are the only words I’ve wanted to hear my entire life (y/n)”. Jughead kissed you again, this time the kiss was extremely needy. With his hands he helped slide down your panties until you shifted to take them off.

It was your turn to whisper in his ear, “ I believe the saying is an eye for a eye”. Getting the hint he took off his own underwear, and you licked your lips taking him in. Jughead was bigger than you’d thought, but there was no complaining.

He shook his head, “ Fuck you’re perfect for me”. You slid off Jughead’s lap and kneeled before him, your face inches away from his erection. Looking up to him you saw how lust blown his pupils were, and when you slowly licked up his shaft his eyes opened wide.

When you got to the tip you swirled your tongue around, “ Talk to me baby”. If Jughead weren’t so insanely turned on he would’ve made a comment about you mocking him. He shakily said, “ I want you to taste me”.

Smirking you kissed back down his shaft, sucking when you got to his balls. Jughead moaned, it was like you knew exactly where to touch him. Grinning you asked, “ Does that feel good Juggy?”.

He bit his lip, you were really asking for it now, “ That feels so fucking good you little tease”. Smiling you continued, flicking your tongue over his tip tasting the precum. Feeling confidant you took as much of him as you could in your mouth, while holding eye contact.

Jughead watched you, he never thought he could be this turned on. You started to bob your head up and down, picking up speed. He threw his head back, “ Oh god (y/n)”. With your free hand you massaged his balls, wanting to throw him over the edge.

You continued sucking, shifting from going fast to going slow, and stayed like that for a couple minutes. It was so beautiful to know how good you were making him feel, and such a turn on to know he was watching you nearly mesmerized.

Jughead groaned, “ Keep looking at me like that and this is all going to be over soon” and with that he picked you back up so you were on his lap again. Your lips found each other again and the kiss made you wetter and wetter.

Putting a hand on his chest you broke the kiss, “ I want you Jughead…I need you”. He looked apprehensive, like he wasn’t sure if you actually wanted him. You took his face in your hands, “ Jughead Jones I love you”.

You watched his face change as your words hit him, you watched the happiness spread throughout him. Jughead looked so blissful, “ I love you so much (y/n)”. Wanting to preserve the moment you started to kiss again.

You felt his member press against you and so you moved your hips forward. Getting the hint Jughead laid down on his back, putting you on top of him. His back rested against the arm of the couch, propping him up. Biting your lip you lowered yourself onto him, adjusting to his size.

Jughead moaned as he felt himself slide into you, your walls pressing against him. Slowly you moved your hips back and forth, still adjusting. As you leaned forward Jughead massaged your breast again.

You moaned his name when you felt him lightly tweak your sensitive nipples. Needing more you picked up your speed, and he was moaning right along with you. He kissed up your neck, “ That’s it baby, just like that”.

His hands rested on your hips guiding you even more. Feeling yourself getting closer you went faster. Jughead started to thrust his hips up, needing more too. You leaned forward so much that he started to suck your nipples, “ Fuck Jughead I’m close”.

He took his mouth off to only say, “ Cum for me baby”. You knew he was just as close because he thrust started getting sloppier. Resting both hands on his chest you started to move your hips in a circular motion making him enter you deeper.

You couldn’t hold it back any longer, “ Jughead I’m going to-”. He thrust inside you deeper and faster, “ Me too (y/n) fuck”. Closing your eyes your orgasm shook throughout your entire body.

You felt your walls clench against him and Jughead twitch inside you. All you could do was moan his name as your orgasm made every nerve in your body tremble. Jughead was right there with you, moaning and panting.

After riding out your orgasm you rested your head in the crook of his neck. He smiled, “Why did we wait so long (y/n)?”. Looking up to him you kissed his neck, “ Love makes you do crazy things Juggy”.

The moment was ruined when you heard banging on the door, making you both spring to action. You rushed to put on your dress and answer the door as Jughead threw on his pants. Opening the door you saw Archie standing there with a smug look on his face, knowing perfectly well why you looked so worn out.

He smirked, “ It’s so weird the movie ended thirty minutes ago but somehow you both didn’t realize and so we wanted to make sure things were alright”. Both Betty and Kevin stood behind Archie.

Walking over to the door, still shirtless, Jughead spoke up, “ Real smooth Archie, I’m sure concern was your only motive and totally not curiosity”. To your surprise Jughead wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer to his body.

Archie’s smirk grew, “ Of course Juggy, we wanted to see if you guys were up for Pop’s or if you’d be too worn out from your…interview…”. He couldn’t help but laugh at his own joke and you shook your head.

Jughead looked to you, “ Actually (y/n) and I have worked up quite the appetite, journalism is so straining…how about you buy us a fries and milkshakes?”.

Before Archie could reply you added, “ I’m sure you’d love to Arch, put all that concern to good use”. Archie just smiled knowing he’d been beat, and gave you both a minute to get ready.

When you were done Jughead took your hand and you were all ready to go to Pop’s. You felt ready to conquer the world, you were in love with Jughead Jones and Jughead Jones loved you back.

You already knew you were going to regret this decision from the start. But then again, you didn’t think it was right to let life move on without letting Harry know about the teensy-weensy, very little crush you had on him. You thought you had been subtle all these years, you thought you had your emotions all under control and that not even the FBI could figure out that you liked Harry. You didn’t know this, but you were very much wrong because everyone knew. Absolutely everyone knew about your feelings towards Harry, even Harry knew about your feelings towards him! Except you didn’t know that Harry and everyone else in the entire bloody world were aware of your more than little crush. (You had always been an oblivious person.)

“You should buy dinner fo’ me first before dragging me into the bedroom, love.” You had thrown a house party mainly to celebrate the success of Harry’s new album, but also because you needed an excuse to get wasted so that confident Y/N would come out to play.

“Hush. I just needed to talk to you about something. Something very, very important!” You smiled nervously, shutting the door behind you and trailing behind Harry to sit down on the edge of the bed. “I’ve kept this from you for a while now, and I don’t think it’s fair of me to not tell you. I don’t want this to make everything super weird between us because it’s a totally normal thing and it’s not even a big deal.”

“I knew you were a secret agent. Who do yeh work for?” Harry joked, pointing a finger at you accusingly before squinting his eyes. Only Harry would crack a joke at a time like this.

“I… I, uh…” Considering the fact that you couldn’t piece words together to form a proper sentence, you knew you weren’t nearly drunk enough to tell Harry this. But it was too late! You dragged him into the bedroom and made a huge deal about how you had been wanting to tell him something for a long time, so you didn’t have a choice left. Just say it! I like you more than a friend should. I like you more than a friend should. I like you more than a friend should. “I like you, but not in the best friend way, it’s more like the I-wanna-kiss-you-right-now kind of way.” Or you could say it like that. A+ for effort?

“Oh, I know.”

“And I’m sorry I didn’t let you know this, but I really wanted to, and-” You stopped midway through your little ramble, eyes widening as you looked up at Harry. “I’m sorry, you what?”

“I know.” A shit-eating grin grew on Harry’s features before he was shrugging casually, reaching over to pick some lint off the duvet. He knew?? How did he know? You were sure you had been careful with the way you acted towards him but obviously, you hadn’t been a very good actor. Oh god. What if he didn’t like you back? Or what if he said he liked you back out of politeness? Harry was a polite person. He hated negativity so it made sense that he would lie to you about liking you. It was pretty obvious you had a million and one thoughts clambering around in your head, but you couldn’t help it!

One thing you always hated about yourself was that you seemed to immediately shut off when someone expressed some form of affection towards you. You didn’t think it would happen in front of Harry, but it was definitely happening. You could practically feel your brain short-circuiting. Maybe if I tell him it’s just a prank he’ll back off.

“Well, you don’t have to worry about it, because I don’t actually like you and this is just an elaborate scheme to-”

“Y’know, I’m surprised it took you this long t’ tell me!” Harry clicked his tongue, pushing himself up off the mattress as he headed towards the door. “I figured you’d have to tell me sooner or later, but you really took your time, didn’t you?”

“I-”

“Because I’ve liked you for a long time, but everyone told me to wait for you to tell me, which was kind of torturous but thank bloody God you finally said something because I felt like I was going to explode!” Harry laughed lightly, twisting the doorknob with a click

“Um-”

“Anyways, I’m gonna head down and see what everyone else is up to. I know you’re probably still processing everything tha’s happening but if I don’ see yeh down there in five minutes I’ll give you a proper spank.”

“Harry, I-”

“And I’m allowed to say tha’ cos we’re practically dating.”

Well, that was easy.

Monet’s was everyone’s go-to cafe whether it be in the mornings before school, afternoons after school, or someplace to grab a quick bite to eat for dinner. So, of course, this is where Clay finds you and your boyfriend Jeff grabbing a bite to eat.

“Hey, guys, I’m really sorry to interrupt, but I need a favor.”

Jeff immediately glances up, on edge, and you smile sheepishly at Clay since he had walked up right when you had taken an enormous bite of your sandwich. “What happened? What’s wrong?” Jeff asks and you roll your eyes in good humor at the protectiveness your boyfriend feels over the Jensen boy.

“Uh, nothing..?” Clay frowns. “I just- my phone died. I was looking for Tony, but I can’t find him anywhere. Can I use one of your phones?”

I had noticed. I noticed how he hoped to find that piece of paper in his compliment bag hanging on the wall next to the rest. Hoping to find that someone had written something that made him feel a little better, he didn’t lose hope that someday that bag would have something inside, he didn’t care how long it took.

I had stopped looking in my bag a long time ago; it wasn’t like I couldn’t use some nice words even though they came from an anonymous source that I would probably never know who it was. I had stopped looking inside because I never got any notes, so I decided to stop wasting my time and to stop feeling bad every time I looked inside.

Nevertheless I was surprised that someone like Zach Dempsey didn’t get a hundred of notes, after all he was the star player in the basketball team, he was friends with the popular people of the school, he was always in all the parties and I knew girls liked him, still he didn’t get any compliments in his bag.

I couldn’t help to feel bad for him, so I gather my things very slowly to be the last one in the class and I wrote a note for him, which I left in his compliment bag so the next day he would have something.

I didn’t write a love letter or something like that, it was something pretty simple, something that would make him feel better for the rest of the day; we all deserve to receive compliments from time to time.

A few days passed since the first note I wrote him and I had to admit that I loved how he reacted so I decided to write him a couple more for the next weeks, but I didn’t make it a daily thing.

One day while I was running to class, considering that I was late to first period. I was looking in my bag for my book and being the clumsy person that I am I ran into someone, luckily for me I didn’t fall backwards, that would had been even more embarrassing.

“Oh god, I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking” I said as fast as I could while I bend down to get the book that I made that person drop.

I saw it was the biology book, the same one that I was looking for in my bag and when I looked to the owner I saw it was Zach and I thanked that it was him and not one of his stupid friends, because even though he hanged out with them Zach was so much nicer than all of them together.

“Don’t worry, are you ok?” he asked grabbing his book and smiling for some reason.

“Yeah, I’m fine, I’m just really bad at walking without running into people” I joked putting my bag on my shoulder “I was looking for my bio book but it seems that I forgot it at home” I sighed “but it doesn’t matter, see you in class” I added walking to the classroom, I didn’t want to get even more late.

“Wait!” he exclaimed making me turn in his direction with a surprised expression on my face “we can walk together and if you want you can sit with me and I’ll share my book with you” I couldn’t help the frown on my forehead. Zach was definitely kind, but not to this level, he was socializing voluntary with me, someone who wasn’t even close to his little world or the people in that world, it was odd.

“Okay… thank you” I answered trying to sound convinced. He reached me and we started walking to class together “how it is that you’re late to bio? You’re always the first one there” I added realizing he was late to his favourite class.

When I didn’t get any answer I looked in his direction and I saw him smiling again, this time even wider. We got to class so I wasn’t going to get any response to my question.

The class went by as usually, this was one of the few classes I liked, I liked to consider myself a person of letters, but I was good at everything in general, even though I hated all the subjects related to science or maths, that’s why it was something unusual that I liked this one in particular and that was the reason why I was always dazed in the teacher’s explanations, but not this time. I couldn0t stop looking to Zach and see how he took notes of everything and how he knew all the answers to the teacher’s questions, even though he just answered them in his notebook and not out loud. I guess that being good at something not related to sports wasn’t “cool”.

Unluckily for me Zach caught me staring and I tried to hide my smile, but it was impossible, I just looked in the teacher’s direction and started to take notes.

“You’re better at this than I thought” I whispered while I was writing the things that I saw in the blackboard.

“That means you knew I was already good at this” he answered looking at me all the time.

That answer was as odd as the rest of things that were happening with him this morning.

“Well, we have this class in common, why wouldn’t I know you’re good at it?” I asked looking at him again.

“Just an observation” there it was again, that smile, the third time I got that smile.

The bell was close to rang when Mr. Porter came into the classroom and I knew he was there for me, I just had to wait to hear my name and see how everyone looked at me.

When he did it I looked at Zach, who was looking at me with something like surprise and concern. I just grabbed my things and followed Mr. Porter to his office.

“I know why you have called me here” I said before he could even start “and I just have to say that everything is ok, I’m fine” I added with my usual tone.

“Your parents don’t think the same, they seem really concern”

“well, they are parents, when you have kids you’re life turns into an endless hole of worries, but I’m fine, I don’t know what they’ve told you, but I know exactly how I feel, can I go now?” the bell rang, great I was going to be late for second period too.

“How do you feel? I’d like to know it so that way I can help you”

“Why do you want to talk about it? To make me feel bad? I’ve said I know how I feel, it doesn’t mean I want to talk about it”

“If you don’t talk about it you won’t be able to solve it”

“This is a waste of time” I said standing and taking my bag. I was in a good mood this morning, but not anymore, thanks to this stupid “try to talk about your feelings”.

“(Y/N) wait” Mr. Porter stood like he was going to follow me, but he didn’t, I walked out of his office without looking behind and I let a big sigh leave my chest.

I started walking to communication class when I heard a certain voice calling me; I turned in his direction with surprise in face again.

“Is everything ok?” Zach asked coming to me.

“Yes, what are you doing here?” I needed to know the answer to that question, because we weren’t friends, we just had a few classes together and now all of the sudden he’s worried about me.

“I just wanted to make sure everything was fine” when I heard how sincere he sounded I felt something I had never felt before, it was like something inside me was completed and I just smiled widely.

“That’s really nice of you” I mumble “Thank you”

We remained silence, I didn’t know what else to say and he looked like he wanted to continue talking, like there was something he wanted to tell me and just when I was about to turn in the opposite direction he talked.

“Would you like to go to Monet’s some time?” he sounded almost nervous. Like if he was exposed to a terrible danger.

I looked at him, confusion all over my face, I was trying to make sense to the fact that he wanted to go out with me, I didn’t want to think he was playing with me, like it was some kind of bet with his friends, that would be really painful.

“Zach… I don’t want you to misunderstand this, but… why?” his expression didn’t change.

“I don’t know, you seem interesting and I’d like to get to know you better” now I was totally amazed.

“Is this some kind of bet you want to win? Because if it is-“

“No!” he said stopping me “no, no bets” I think he realized then why I have my doubts “I promise you it’s nothing like that”

“Then why are you interested suddenly? We’ve been in the same classes since freshman year and we have never had a real conversation, we’re from different worlds and I know you’re nothing like your friends, because if you were I wouldn’t even be talking to you, but when you’re with them… I don’t know, you’re not like this, I guess…”

“I get it, I have a reputation, but give me a chance to prove you that I’m not like that, and you won’t regret it”

“I’ll accept if you tell me the real reason behind this interest”

He stopped for a second, maybe thinking if he wanted to talk about it or not.

“I know you are the one who has left notes in my compliment bag” I opened my mouth to say something, but words didn’t come to me, I was speechless, I didn’t know if I should deny it or tell the truth “You’re not the only one who notice things, you know? I’ve notice how much you enjoy when we are in literature, how you are in your own world when you are bored, how much you like animals” I was blushing by the second “you like bio even though science is not your favourite area and how you laugh even when the jokes aren’t funny at all”

I couldn’t believe how much he noticed me, I always thought no one looked in my direction and that was why I felt so comfortable doing my things.

“How… how do you know the notes were mine?” I whispered, trying to recover myself form the things he had said to me.

“Because I know you’re the only one who knows how much I like bio” he answered giggling “and in your first note you wrote how cute I look when I’m paying attention in bio and that you think I looked happier there than playing basketball”

“That could be anyone…”

“That’s what I thought at first, but you have confirmed my doubts today” he said laughing at my recently shyness “Thank you for the notes by the way”

“Compliments are necessary” I said trying to change the subject.

“Then what do you say, do you want to go to Monet’s some day?” I wasn’t entirely sure about this, I really wanted to believe him, but I couldn’t stop thinking that maybe this was just a game and I think he knew how insecure I felt “I get you have doubts, I just ask for one chance”

“Ok, I’ll go out with you” I said almost cutting him, if I thought about it more I’ll change my mind and I wouldn’t give him a change to prove he had good intentions.

His expression change suddenly, he smiled brightly and I tried to hide mine but it was impossible, I looked in other direction so he couldn’t see it, but I think my attempt was useless.

“I promise you won’t regret it” he said thrilled “do you want to go to the library? We are already really late to class anyways”

“Sure, and you can help me with something I don’t understand in bio” I said walking by his side to the library.

“Of course”

Title: Lost in Translation
Character: Shaun Murphy
Previous Part: http://ofnifflersandkings.tumblr.com/post/166096152667/title-secondhand-memories-character-shaun-murphy

Your hand absentmindedly reached up to rub the remaining sleep from your eyes as you readjusted your bag strap on your shoulders. Glancing down at your phone for the time before you pushed open the door to the hospital, bidding a short good morning to the guard by the enterence.

When you looked back up from your phone, you saw Shaun standing right in the center of the lobby. He was dressed in his usual blue scrubs and coat, he was looking right at you until your gazes met. He gave you a stiff wave and then kept his eyes on his folded hands.

“Dr. Murphy?” You said as you walked up to him, hands in your pockets. “You’re early today.”

“Yes, I am,” Shaun reaffirmed, clearing his throat as he looked back at you. “You weren’t here yesterday.”

You shook your head. “No, I wasn’t. But I’m fine now, no need to worry.”

“I did though,” He said over you. “I was worried something had happened because you weren’t sleeping. Did you rest like you promised?”

You smiled. “Yes, I did. I’m sorry for making you worry. It was just a bug is all, Claire told me she’d give me a stern talking to if I didn’t stay home till I felt better.”

“Why don’t you take care of yourself?” Shaun asked after a short pause.

It took you a second to get back from the minor shock of being asked such a blunt question. “I do take care of myself.” You said with a short laugh.

“But you just said Claire was the one who made you take off work even though you were sick. And she told me you had a very long history of doing this kind of thing.”

You remained silent, and Shaun took it as a sign to elaborate further.

“I understand that as a doctor your schedule isn’t always the same, but you should try to make sure you’re healthy and-”

“Uhm, I should probably-” You broke to point aimlessly in some direction. “-I should go get my scrubs on. I’ll see you later.”

Shaun couldn’t even think of a response before you all but sprinted away from him to your locker.

Shaun didn’t see you for the rest of the day, even on the busiest of days; he’d always manage to at least catch a glance of you. But it was like you weren’t even in the hospital again.

After his shift was over, Shaun was quick to change into street clothes; practically shoving his coat on as he quickly walked to the main enterence lobby.

He looked around, seeing the usual receptionist and guard that covered the night shifts, and a couple people hanging around the sitting area as they read magazines or talked to one another while drinking out of cheap, plastic coffee cups.

You usually left late, so he figured he’d wait around and catch you before you left. He didn’t fully understand what had made you so upset, but it felt like it was something he said.

Shaun looked down at his phone to look at the time, fifteen minutes had past and still nothing.

He continued to do the same thing, checking precisely every fifteen minutes for around two hours. Looking up everytime he heard footsteps; expecting to see you walking up to the doors or tying back your hair.

He took another look at the time, Shaun would have to leave now if he wanted to catch the bus home. He looked up one final time, glancing at the various enters into the lobby, but no one came by.

Shaun stood up, sliding his phone into his pocket as he started towards the exit. Maybe he could find you tomorrow.

Shaun stood in front of the mirror, ruffling around his hair as he looked down at his phone for the time. He was at least half an hour ahead of his normal schedule, wanting to get at the hospital so he was certain he’d catch you come into work.

But when he went into the hospital as usual, you were now the one standing in the middle of the room; waiting on him.

You weren’t dressed in your scrubs, but Shaun saw you rocking back and forth on your feet and you gave him a small smile when you two saw each other.

“Morning, Shuan,” You said when you walked up to him. “How was the bus ride here?”

“Normal, well not exactly, I was early so the usual people weren’t there.” Shaun explained.

You nodded. “I wanted to say sorry, for avoiding you yesterday.”

“I had planned on talking to you about it,” He looked down at you. “I was worried that you’d still be upset with me.”

“Oh no, I wasn’t upset with you. I think I was upset with myself because I knew you were right and I had to confront the issue; I wanted to ignore it for a little longer.”

“Well good,” Shaun said with a nod. “Are we still friends?”

“Course,” You affirmed with a laugh. “I would never be upset with someone for something so trivial. I know you had good intentions when you asked me about it.”

Shaun nodded again. “Good,” He repeated, not entirely sure how to carry on the conversation.

You inhaled, your shoulders rising slightly as you did so. “I should go get ready for work, I’m sure Claire’s trying to hunt me down as we speak.”

Shaun smiled. “I’ll see you around today then?”

You nodded. “Absolutely.”

Imagine building IKEA furniture with Chris.

A/N: This is a request from @brobrobreja. I’m so sorry it took so long, the mini-series had my hands pretty tied. I hope you like it! X

You sat on the other side of the bedroom, the instruction manual for your new bed frame in your hand. You giggled softly at the cartoon man who looked as clueless as the both of you, wondering if you should do as he did; call IKEA for help. Of course you couldn’t because your boyfriend, Chris believed he was more than capable of installing the bed frame himself. You looked up at him and bit back your smile when you saw him narrow his eyes at a strange metal piece, muttering cuss words under his breath.

“What does the manual say?” He quizzed as he looked up at you. “Where does this piece go?” He held up the strange metal piece and you studied it for a moment before looking back down at the manual. “Well?” He asked after a few minutes of silence.

“Beats me,” you looked up and shrugged; he chuckled wearily and shook his head. “What?” You giggled. “I told you I’m not good at these things, why do you think I called you?” He sighed and got to his feet, dodging loose pieces on your bedroom floor as he made his way over to you.

“Give me that,” he took the manual from you then settled on the floor behind you with his legs on either side. “You’re lucky you’re cute, Y/N.” You smiled and leaned back against him, resting your cheek against his bearded face. “Let’s see,” he studied the manual, his arm absentmindedly draped around your waist. “Well, it looks like that metal piece goes…Hm,” he hummed with pursed lips. “Maybe it’s meant to go in the joint?”

“Maybe you should just let me call the staff at IKEA,” you whispered then kissed his jawline when he chuckled. “We’ve been doing this for hours and we still haven’t made any progress. It’s eight-thirty and we haven’t had food, can we just order some takeout and call IKEA in the morning?”

“What are we going to sleep on tonight then?”

“You do realize a bed frame is just to prop the mattress up, right?” You teased him and he rolled his eyes, smiling. “It doesn’t change the fact that a mattress is still a mattress. Just leave the mess here and we’ll sleep out in the living room, it’ll be like camping except without the yucky stuff.”

“You mean nature?” He quizzed, chuckling.

“You know it,” you winked and got off the ground. “I’m going to go order some food, what are we feeling tonight?” He shrugged, giving you one of those ‘you pick’ faces. “Well, I feel like Chinese so- General Chang’s it is then.” You held out a hand for him to take so you could pull him to his feet. “Coming?”

“I’ll come when the food gets here, I just want to give this another shot.” He told you, returning his gaze to the manual. “I mean- it’s just a bed frame,” he looked up at you when he heard you chuckle, “how hard can it be to figure out? I’m Captain America, for crying out loud,” he said and tried not to laugh when you did.

“Okay Cap,” you kissed the top of his head. “I’ll come get you when the food’s here.”

Forty-five minutes later, the food arrived and Chris still hadn’t made progress with your bed frame. When you went into your bedroom to get him, his head was hung in defeat. “I don’t wike it,” he imitated his nephew’s catchphrase, making you laugh.

“C'mon Cap,” you grabbed his hands and pulled him to his feet. “Let it go,” you told him as you wrapped an arm around his waist; his arm draped around your shoulder as the two of you made your way out into the living room. “We’ll call the guy in the morning.”

“IKEA should really have better instruction manuals,” he muttered bitterly. “There is no way anyone can build anything from that dumb sheet of paper. It doesn’t even have instructions, there are just numbers and pictures.”

“Let it go,” you chuckled, rubbing his back.

“We wouldn’t have this problem if you’d just move in with me,” he mumbled into your hair; he was a little nervous about bringing up the subject again, the first decline was a little gut wrenching. You stopped walking and he stopped with you, wincing when you looked up at him. “I know you want to be independent and this place is nearer to work-”

“Those are the real reason I won’t move in with you, Chris,” you confessed then pressed your lips together when he narrowed his eyes. “I just-” you began then huffed. “I don’t think you realize what moving in together means.”

“Living together instead of living separately?”

“Funny,” you slapped his arm, biting back your smile when he chuckled. “I’m talking about the reality of it, like are you sure you’re going to be okay coming home to my face all day every day? What if we have a big fight and you can’t get any space from me? What if you just want some down time with your guys and I’m in the way? What if you decide-” He cut you off, pressing his lips against yours.

“My biggest wish is to come home to your face all day every day, Y/N,” he told you, smiling. “And you should know by now that the last thing I want is space when we fight, it just makes the problem bigger. As for downtime with my guys?” He chuckled. “I’d love for you to be there. Always, because you are my girl and there is no one I’d rather spend time with.” You smiled and he chuckled, “any other concerns you need me to address?”

“What if you decide I’m much too annoying to live with?”

“You’re annoying all the time,” he poked your side, laughing when you scoff. “But I’m still here, aren’t I?” He quizzed, sliding his arms around your waist and to your lower back. “C'mon, move in with me. I have proper furniture there, nothing that needs assembling.” He teased and you chuckled. “We’re going to be living together when you marry me,” he reminded you and you smiled, feeling your cheeks heat up at that. “Why not just get a head start? C'mon,” he pressed when you smiled, “it’ll be fun.”

“Fine,” you gave in, smiling. “Let’s move in together.”

“Yes!” He cheered and hugged you. “It’s going to be great, I’ll hire a moving truck ASAP.”

“Just out of curiosity,” you teased him as you broke the hug, wrapping your arms around his neck as his hands moved to your hips. “What makes you so sure I’m going to marry you?”

“My wonderful furniture assembling skills, of course.”

You make everything better

Babe?
Yo. What’s up?

What? Did you trip again?

WHAT WHO DO I HVAE TO FIHGT??? (ง'̀-‘́)ง IM READY
No one, but can you come to my place? I need you.
I’ll be there in 5, love you
Love you more

Peter smiles at the screen of his phone before blocking it and placing it next to him on his bed. He bites his lip and shakes his head because he can’t believe how happy a text from you can make him feel– and when it’s one in which you’re being protective like just now… he melts.

He rubs his bruised eye absentmindedly, wondering how long it will take for his skin to return to his normal color. Luckily it doesn’t bother him– he barely feels any pain. As a matter of fact, his wrist is bothering him way more than his eye– because it’s been itchy all day, and he just can’t ignore it anymore. It’s too annoying.

“So… who was it? Who hit you?” May asks from the kitchen where she’s finding some ice for him to put on his eye. He pulls down the sleeve from his sweatshirt, revealing the new, improved device Tony Stark provided for him. While it can’t be denied that it’s super cool, it’s also super uncomfortable.

Imagine your first fight with Chris.

A/N: Part 3 😭 Did I cry? Oh, I definitely would’ve if I wrote this in the privacy of my own home. But seeing as I was in public, I had to take a few deep breaths and get through it without crying. You can read the previous parts here: (Mini-series - Masterlist; Mini-series Spin-off: ‘Unexpected Reader - Masterlist’, ‘Little Ways Away - Part 1/Part 2)

Friday came and that meant it’d been five days since Chris last spoke with you, and five days since you started ignoring his calls. Both of you were going insane not being able to speak to the other, but that was where you were at and needed to be. So Chris took Sebastian’s advice into consideration and stopped pushing, he ate up whatever lie you gave him and hoped you’d call soon because he was seriously missing your voice. You wanted to call, God, you wanted to call. You wanted to hear his voice; you wanted to see his face on your computer screen; you wanted to tell him about how Jack dropped a fork down a customer’s dress and hear him bellow with laughter, but you couldn’t.

Things with you hadn’t improved; you were still stressed and on the verge of having a mental breakdown that you didn’t want to bother your very busy boyfriend with. As frustrating as you knew you were being, you still believed Chris was better off not knowing. You believed that because you hadn’t talked to him, you couldn’t hear how worried he was about you; how stressed he was because he couldn’t talk to you; how much he needed you while he was pulling sixteen hour days miles from the girl he loved. He, too, was on the verge of having a mental breakdown but was too afraid that you’d do what Sebastian said if he pushed too hard. So he left you alone, gave you the space you apparently needed, and suffered in silence.

The two of you really were too similar, incredibly good at repeating history, and becoming increasingly insufferable to those around you. If you’d just let your incredibly wise best friend give you some brutally honest advice, you wouldn’t be in this situation and the last five days wouldn’t have been your hell on earth.

“Hey, babe,” Ava called from the kitchen as came through the front door; Dodger barked.

“Hey, sorry.” You gave them both a quick wave as you rushed down the hallway to your room; you were running late for work due to an impromptu meeting with Professor Killian, who was concerned about your recent decline in mood. They followed you; Ava with her bowl of Lucky Charms, and stood in your doorway, watching you bounce around your room gathering your work clothes. “I’m running so late, Jack’s texted me twice already and-” you stopped and looked around, frowning, “where the hell is my apron?”

“I think it’s in the wash, but you can use mine.” She told you and walked over to her room to grab it while you got changed. “What were you doing at school anyway?” She asked as she walked back towards your room; she stood in the hallway and waited for you, whereas Dodger left for the living room. “You don’t have classes on Friday, did they change your timetable?”

“No, thank God,” you took the apron Ava was holding out and shoved it into your handbag. “I got an email from Professor Killian because he’s concerned about me. Apparently I’ve been very distracted and unproductive in his class.” You rolled your eyes and Ava pursed her lips in response because she knew your professor was right. “What a ridiculous accusation, I turned in two drafts yesterday.” You headed for the bathroom to quickly fix your hair before you left for your fine-dine restaurant job; Ava followed, quietly eating her cereal. “Have I been distracted and unproductive?”

“I don’t think you want me to answer that,” Ava said with a wince.

“Seriously?” You narrowed your eyes at her. “How have I been distracted and unproductive?”

“Babe-” Ava sighed and followed you as you headed for the front door. “Since you decided to stop talking to Chris, you haven’t been particularly focused on anything.” You stopped and turned to her with raised eyebrows. “You go through your days upset and distracted, and yes- you still do your writing and you go to work, but you’re lacking your usual perky personality and it is very noticeable. I mean- If Killian noticed, you know you’re on rough terrain.”

“God, I know,” you sighed. “I know you’re right. I just- I’m trying,” you told her and she nodded, knowing very well you were. “And I want to talk to him, I just feel like if I do- I’m going to freak him out and make him worry and- I don’t want to do that while he’s busy with work.”

“You know he’s never going to be too busy for you, right?”

“I know,” you managed a smile. “But I still don’t want to add more to his already very full plate. I know I’m being very frustrating and ignoring him is not one of my best ideas, but it’s all I have right now.” Ava reached for your elbow and gave your arm a light squeeze because she was starting to understand why you were doing what you were doing. “I’ll talk to him soon, I just need to figure out how to explain everything to him so he doesn’t worry about me after I hang up. Am I making sense?” You chuckled wearily with limited humor. “I feel like I’m just blathering.”

“Perfect sense,” she assured you, smiling. “You care about him, that’s why you’re doing all this. Props, sweetheart. Really, I’m very proud of you and the way you’re coping with everything.” She gave you a quick one arm hug and you smiled, hugging her back. “You’re going to be fine, like I told Chris- you’re a tough nut to crack. But y'know, in a positive light- not the mysterious, hard-to-deal-with meaning. Though you are a puzzle sometimes, a very complicated puzzle.”

“Yeah, I’m a fucking macadamia nut,” you joked and both laughed. “I really gotta run,” you told her and she nodded, making her way to the couch to join Dodger as your phone started ringing. The ringtone was your average, day-to-day, every-man ringtone so you picked up without looking at it; you’d no idea Chris had borrowed a phone so he could trick you into picking up his call. He didn’t want to push, but he had a terrible day and he needed to talk to you. “Hello?”

“Here I was thinking you’d let this call go to voicemail too,” Chris’ voice came through and you felt your breath hitch in your throat. “Um-” He chuckled with limited humor. You were too stunned to process the emotions wrapped in his tone; you couldn’t even tell that he’d been crying. “Hey, um- God, it’s so good to finally hear your voice. How are you, sweetheart?”

“I’m good,” you found yourself lying again. “I’m actually on my way to work, so can I call y-”

“Of course you are,” Chris muttered bitterly; his hand tugging at his hair as he tried not to swear.

“Of course I am?” You felt your eyes narrow even though you knew you deserved whatever Chris was throwing your way. “What is that suppose to mean?” You bit as Ava turned; she saw the expression on your face which meant the call you’d been avoiding had arrived. She found herself lowering her bowl and planting both feet on the ground, preparing to intervene if she needed to- if the fight became bigger than it should. Dodger was on alert too, like he could sense the storm brewing between you and his best friend.

“What is that suppose to mean?” Chris bit back with a scoff. “Are you kidding me right now, Y/N? You haven’t spoken to me in five days! Did we get into a fight, did we break up? I don’t know because we haven’t talked!” You tried to interject, but he didn’t let you. “You’ve avoided all my calls and attempts at FaceTiming you, you reply to all my texts in less than five words- like what is your problem? Did I do something to piss you off, because if I did- please, let me know.”

“Chris-” you began then sighed, “I’m sorry, but this sounds like a fight I can’t get into right now.” You heard him scoff on the other end and you wanted to kick yourself. “It’s not you, okay? I’m just-” you glanced at the clock hanging on your wall, “I need to go. I’ll call you after work and we’ll talk about this then.”

“No,” he practically growled. “We’re going to talk about this now, Y/N. I’ve given you enough time to sort out whatever the hell is going on with you, I want to resolve this now. I don’t care if you’re late for work, this is a lot more important than a shift where they can easily get someone to cover for you. What is going on? Did I do something to upset you?”

“No! God, Chris- not everything is about you.” Your heart ached at the sound of his voice, it ached for him. “I already told you, this isn’t about you.” You said, as you realized how much it was; you missed him dearly and it was affecting your entire being- mind, body, and soul. Up until you heard his voice, you didn’t realize how much your life was in shambles. Sure, school was great and work was good, but- you were alone and apart from your soulmate that you took nineteen years to find. You were not okay, you needed the next seven months to be over. “I’ve just been busy, okay? And I’m busy now, so I really need to end this phone call and call you back later.”

“Don’t you dare hang up on me,” he warned; his voice broke but you were too distraught to notice. “Y/N, we need to communicate. We may be perfect for each other, but God- we are terrible at being in a relationship.” Your eyes narrowed at that. “Couples are meant to be honest with each other. We’re meant to tell each other everything, yet here we are arguing about something that could’ve easily been avoided if we just talked.”

“I don’t even know what we’re arguing about!” You cried with a deep frown; Ava noticed your hand clench into a tight fist and she knew you were about to lost it. “You started this argument, Chris,” you accused and he scoffed. “I was just trying to get to work.” There was a long pause where neither of you said anything, then you did, “I know we need to talk, but I don’t have time to talk to you right now.”

Remember love and how it was a strange concept? How it could either be the simplest of things, or the most complicated? How a wrong move, a poorly chosen word, bad timing- how all of these factors were capable of tearing a soul into pieces? Well, the two of you were about to experience that ache and anguish.

“Make time,” he bit, trying to hold back his tears. “Have Ava cover your shift so we can talk, Y/N. I’m not asking for a lot here, I’m asking to talk to my girlfriend.” You turned your back towards Ava so she didn’t see you starting to cry, but she knew. “All I want is a second of your time, Y/N, a second of your time to just talk. Can you give me that? Can you give me that and ask me about my day? You’re not the only one who is having a hard time with all of this. I miss you too, and I need you too.”

“This is not how I imagined this conversation would go,” you mumbled under your breath instead of keeping it in your head. That was your mistake; the straw that broke the camel’s back; the prompt that brought forth words Chris didn’t mean and regretted immediately.

“Of course not,” Chris bit. “'Cause everything is just fucking perfect in your stories, isn’t it?” You felt your heart break at the harshness of his tone as well as the bitterness of his words. “Newsflash, Y/N, this is real life and I am not perfect. I am nowhere near fucking perfect,” he spat and you bit the inside of your cheek to stop yourself from having a full on breakdown.

“What is your problem, Chris?”

Chris could hear your voice shake and he knew you were crying. He knew he was hurting you and it broke his heart to think that you were crying because of him, but he couldn’t stop the foul words from spilling out of his mouth. “I can’t be the perfect guy you want me to be,” he told you and a whimper escaped your lips. “Your expectations are too high and I don’t know how to live up to them. I thought I did, but-” he swallowed, “I don’t.”

“What are you trying to say?” You breathed and Ava jumped up; she knew exactly what was happening. You waited for him to say something, but he didn’t, so you did. “You know I never asked you to be anyone you weren’t, I never expected anything from you.” Ava tried to take the phone out of your hand, but you moved out of her reach. “But clearly, I was wrong. Clearly…” You trailed off because you couldn’t breathe. “I overreached and this was a huge mistake.”

“Y/N, no! Hang up, hang up now!” Ava hissed at you, but you ignored her with a shake of your head and tears streaming down your face. Both of you were tired and stressed out, neither of you knew what you were doing- you were just doing it. “Give me the phone,” Ava urged, reaching for your phone only to have you dodge her attempts, “give me the phone now!”

“If you don’t want to be with me anymore,” you continued before Chris could process what was happening. “If this is too difficult for you, Chris…” You took a shaky breath, doing everything you could to hold yourself together. “Then let’s just quit while we’re ahead, okay?” You didn’t wait for him to confirm, you just muttered a “okay.”

He finally processed what you were saying and frowned because that wasn’t at all what he wanted, or where he’d imagined your first fight would end. “No no no,” he quickly said before you hung up on him. “No, that’s not what I want. Y/N, I made a promise-”

“It’s fine,” you whispered. “I didn’t expect you to keep your promise anyway, you’re Chris Evans after all and I’m just…me.” You couldn’t hold it together anymore and you knew it was time to hang up. “Consider that letter void,” you managed with your quivering voice. “Like you said, Chris, this is not a story- it’s real life.” You hung up before he could say anything else, slamming your phone on the dining table as your hand flew to your stomach where you felt like you’d just been stab. “Oh my God,” you covered your mouth with your other hand. “What did I just do?”

“Hey,” Ava was quick to go to your aid, placing a comforting hand on your back that you shook off because you knew you’d lose it if you accepted that comfort. “Y/N, you can’t possibly go to work.” She tried to stop you as you grabbed your bag and made your way to the front door. “No!” She ran in front of you and blocked the door, pushing you back with one hand. “You are not going anywhere, you need to process this.”

“I need to go to work,” you told her in the firmest tone you could muster. You heard Dodger bark, but you couldn’t even look his way because he reminded you too much of the guy you’d so carelessly broke up with. “I’m fine, really,” you tried and failed to assure her. “Now please move out of my way because I am really, really late. Please,” you demanded and she reluctantly did as she was told.

The second you stepped out of the house and the door closed behind you, you broke down. You staggered down the first flight of stairs, hiding on the second so Ava couldn’t see you if she came out. You buried your face in your hands and sobbed, wishing you could take back the past five days so you could do it right this time. You had the perfect guy- the man of your dreams, and what did you do? You tossed him aside like he was nothing when he was actually your north, south, east, and west. You wished Chris was wrong, you wished real life was like your stories so you could be less of a fucking idiot and not ruin everything good in your life.

Part 4

*Requested - Reader wears high tech glasses due to their poor vision and one day they break. Rocket offers to fix them but takes his time because he wants a way to get closer to them.*

It normally would have taken him about three days, he did have a reputation for being good with tech after all. He watched silently as you staggered across the room, hands out slightly to avoid walking into anything. The sight was comical. Like something from one of those… what was it Peter called them? Martoons? Cartroons? Rocket couldn’t quite remember and made a mental note to ask Peter later.
You had been that way ever since you had your glasses smashed by some thug on knowhere. The Guardians had been treating themselves to a few drinks to celebrate their triumph against Ronan. It wasn’t everyday they saved the galaxy after all. It had been your round and the line had been long so when a guy pushed in front of you just as you were about to order… Well let’s just say you weren’t all that pleased about it. Now, to say that this guy was built like a brick shithouse would have been an insulting understatement. After dealing with bullying due to your vision all your life you had grown tough and confident. You were through with people treating you like nothing so you probably weren’t thinking when you placed the barrel of your gun against the guys back.
“I think I was here first pal. Move along or I’ll shoot.”

You had always wondered what it would be like to fly. However, as you flew through the air after being flung by the brute and the bar wall came closer into view, you couldn’t help thinking it wasn’t as fun as you had first hoped. The contact with the wall was swift and left you crumpled on the floor like a discarded rag doll. Rocket had been the first one out of his chair. Shots were fired and he managed to chase the guy out of the bar. The whole place seemed uninterested by the scene, completely numbed to it after the amount of times these kinds of things occurred. You were thankful for that at least because your face was red with embarrassment.
Drax offered his large hand to help you up. Rocket watched this and scampered over quickly.
“Nah, I got her, I got her!” Rocket shouted over the noise or the bar waving Drax away. Drax raised an eyebrow and backed away.
Rocket instead offered you his small clawed hand and pulled you up into a sitting position. He studied you carefully and noticed a slight cut just below your eye where some smashed glass had caught your skin.
“Ya alright?” He asked.
You sighed heavily.
“I’m fine…” You couldn’t help seeing the cracked glass and glitching software dance across your vision, making Rocket look out of focus and distorted. You remove them from your face and glance down at them. Your blurred eyesight made you grimace and Rocket realised taking the glasses from you.
They were brilliantly designed. Infrared technology, target locking software, facial recognition and very, very expensive to replace. Rocket turned them in his hands and chewed the inside of his cheek in thought.
“I’ll fix ‘em, it will take a while but I’ll get 'em working again.” Rocket knew it was easy. Brilliantly made they were… for someone on Xander that was. He had developed bombs more complex that those glasses. Not that he’d tell you that.
With a smile, you had thanked him and allowed him to guide you back to the Milano.

What you didn’t realise was there was perks to you not seeing clearly… Not for you, of course, but most definitely for Rocket. You see, with your vision impaired it allowed Rocket to watch you without fear of being seen himself. He was good at hiding behind a veil of satire meaning he had grown good at masking his true emotions as tolerance or annoyance. When no one was watching, however, he was free to allow some of his feelings to slip through the cracks. He felt the tell tale tug on his lips letting him know he was in fact smiling to himself again. He had been taxed with looking after you until your glasses were fixed. Peter thought it would be a good incentive for him to fix them sooner. Oh, how wrong he was. Rocket laughed lightly at the thought. It had been two weeks now and Rocket was still yet to actually take a good look at the true extent of the damage caused to them. If he was being completely honest with himself; he enjoyed the fact that he now spent all of his time with you. With out the loss of your glasses you really had no need for his help.

“You know, if you’re just going to laugh at me I’d rather you just left.” You mumbled under your breath.
Two weeks of feeling useless was really starting to take its tole. You had become irritable from having to rely on Rocket because as far as you knew Rocket was hating every moment. The last thing you wanted was who you considered your closest friend to start to resent you. Rocket never had been the type to help people without making a fuss about it first.
Rocket’s smile faded.

“(F/n), I ain’t laughing at ya.” He said quickly, ears twitching as he spoke.

“Oh, yes you are. Everyone is.” You threw yourself down on what you hoped was a chair. Luckily, it was.

“Ain’t nobody laughing at ya. What makes ya think that?” His ears had flattened slightly, any trace of his smile completely gone.

You scoffed.

“What makes me think that? I’m completely useless without my glasses. And now you need to baby sit me. I know you hate this Rocket. Just go, it’s my stupid fault for picking a fight with a guy that could quite literally throw me across the room. You shouldn’t have to deal with me. I’m going to buy some new glasses as soon as we land. If done relying on everyone.”

Rocket felt a stab of guilt enter his body. He hadn’t realised you had been feeling that way.

“Nah, don’t spend all of those units. I’ll get 'em fixed by tomorrow. I promise.”

“Rocket it’s been two weeks, I’ve stolen far too much of your time already. This isn’t fair on you. You have more important things to be working on.”

A second stab.

“…(f/n), I haven’t started looking at 'em yet.” Rocket admitted.
He paused waiting for you to shout at him. You remained silent and waited for an explanation. Rocket took the hint and continued.
“I just want an excuse to spend time with ya. ’M sorry. I understand ya just wanted ya glasses back, It was selfish of me.”

“…You never needed an excuse Rocket. I’m annoyed don’t think I’m not but… that’s kind of sweet…” You smiled in his general direction.

“…yeah?” He mumbled, the smile reappearing. He made his way towards you and gently placed his hand on your arm.

“Yeah.” You laughed and scoop him up into a hug. He was just a fuzzy blur at that moment but he was still your Rocket. Rocket never minded you picking him up. He loved being close to you.
“Just please fix them if you can.” You laugh.

“I’ll go now, you’ve waited long enough.” He nuzzled his head into your jumpsuit before running off towards his room.

Later that night, after several hours hard work, he had your glasses working as good as new. He even took it upon himself to add some new features. He held them excitedly and ran off to find you.
You had managed to stumble back to your room and lay on your bed. There was a quiet knock on your door and you called out for whoever it was to come in.

“Hey (f/n), I fixed 'em.” He ran over to your bed and hopped up.

You allowed him to place them onto your face. You watched as the galaxy came into focus once more and your eyed landed on Rocket. His beautiful brown eyes stared back at you and a smirk tugged at his lips.

“Oh Rocket, thank you so much. They’re as good as new!” You pulled him into another hug. He once again snuggled close and smiled. Trying his hardest to wrap his arms around you.

“They’re better than new. Thought I’d add some stuff, y'know.” He pulled away and placed it on your hand. He then extend one of your fingers and guided it up to the metal frame of your glasses. You could feel two small buttons.
“This one,” He moved your hand onto the left one. “Allows ya to detect what weapons someone has. Pretty useful in combat. This one,” He guided you to the right one. He tried to stifle his laughter but still ended up sniggering.
“Allows ya to see the probability of winning in a fight with someone based on build and IQ, so, if it’s below thirty percent ya know ya gonna get thrown across a bar and smash your glasses.”

You laughed and nudged him playfully. “What’s the probability I’ll win against you then tough guy?” You press the right button and writing appears in the corner of your vision.

'Aint nobody beating me princess, besides, who else will fix your glasses?’

You laughed again at the fact that he had made your glasses as sarcastic as himself.

“Thank you Rocket, I love them.” You smiled and kissed his cheek.

“No problem (f/n), ya waited long enough.” He had a dopey grin on his face and he scratched behind his ear nervously. “Since I don’t need no excuse to hang out with ya does that mean we can go get a drink when we land?” His eyes dropped to your bed sheet. He found that the pattern had suddenly became very interesting to him.

“Of course Rocket, I’d love to.” You smiled when he looked up at you in disbelief.

“Really?” He beamed.

“Really. I think I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t enjoyed your company for the past two weeks.”

“It’s a… It’s a date then?” His grin faded and he regretted the words as soon as he had said them. Had he just blown it? Took it too far? He looked away in fear.

“Its a date.” You grinned excitedly. “I can’t wait.”

His smile returned in full force and he looked back up at you.

“Me neither sweetheart.” He smirked.

 PART 2 (PART 1)

A thump noise of doors closing has echoed through the hallway as you immediately knew that Kai has finally arrived. You placed a knife gently on the kitchen counter and wiped your wet hands on apron, drying them up. Kai walked into the kitchen with a pink rose bouquette, with a big smile on his face. It took him a few big step to get close to you and place a gentle kiss on your cheek while placing the flowers down on the counter next to you.

‘Evening, beautiful.’ Kai said and tucked a small lock of hair behind you ear, his thumb gently stroking your cheek, making you lean on his hand a little bit, his touch feeling so soft and exactly what you had been longing for at that moment.

'Evening.’ You murmured and pulled him closer by grabbing his shirt and holding it tightly with your hand. You leaned in and brushed your nose against Kai’s, his hot breath tickling your lips. You smiled and swiftly licked his lips with your tongue, earning a quiet moan from him.

'Um, where’s-’

'With her grandma.’ You muttered and pecked his lips, the feeling of their softness and a trace of chocolate only making you more eager to kiss him properly.

'So we’re all alone?’ He asked and couldn’t help but smile, his hand wrapping around your waist and pulling you closer, even though it was impossible because of how close his body was to your body. You bit your lip and nodded, his eyes piercing into yours, looking bluer than they had ever before.

'All alone.’ You whispered and ran your fingers through his hair, tugging at the tips on the back of his head.

'Do you think that maybe we can… you know.. work on what we talked about?’ He asked you, your eyes going wide a bit as you realized that he had been serious about making a baby with you. He really wanted to start a family with you, to have a smaller version of him walking around the house, maybe a little siphon who could learn everything from Kai.

'You really want to make a baby with me?’ Curiousity was more obvious in your voice than you had wanted, but it definitely wasn’t something Kai was focusing on. He was focusing on showing how serious he was about it and how much he actually wanted it.

'I want everything with you. A baby. I want us to be a family and I know that you are the right person for me.’ He trailed off, your heart skipping a beat when he let those words fall out so beautifully and with so much love. 'To show you how serious I am about us, I- I want to do it the proper way. I want it to be special.’ He uttered and then pulled a black silky ribbon out of his pocket and brought it closer to your face, tying it around your head, covering up your eyes. Your heart started beating faster because you knew that this night would be the most special night of your life, the night you would remember forever. He took off your apron, folding it neatly and placing it on the kitchen counter.

'Do you trust me?’ He whispered, his lips pressed against you ear.

'Always.’ A slight chuckle left Kai’s body and then he took you by the hand and carefully led you around the house. As soon as a slight breeze hit your face, you knew you were in the garden. You laughed a little bit and walked slower than you have ever before but not long after that, you stopped and felt Kai’s hands leaving your side, letting you to stand alone.

'Kai? Are you still here?’ You chuckled and reached out your hands, hoping you would get a hold of him but there was no one there.

'Still here. Just making sure that everything is perfectly set up.’ He said, your brows furrowing in confussion. You couldn’t hold the excitement and curiousity anymore and were dying to see what Kai has prepared for you.

'Set up for what?’

'Don’t be impatient. Just a second and- there. You can take off the ribbon.’ You reached behind your head and untied the black ribbon, letting it fall down on the floor and when you saw what was in front of you, you felt as if you were going to fall down as well. Breath hitched in your throat and your heart started beating rapidly, dizziness spreading through your head and suddenly you felt like you couldn’t breathe. Small candles were placed all around the garden, surrounding you both, a small path made out of the candles from the doors to where Kai was standing. White lights were shining down on you, making the night without stars somehow more romantic and magical that stars could never do, red roses placed neatly in small bowls, laying down on the grass. You covered your mouth with your hand, for some reason, tears had started forming in your eyes, but it even got worse when Kai knelt down on one knee, holding a small black box in his hands.

'Kai..’ you whispered, barely managing to utter his name, let alone something else. A single tear rolled down your cheek, your knees suddenly feeling like jello and as if your body was about to give up on you. Kai opened up a small box as you had a perfect view of the ring. Silver ring with an oval diamond, the lights hanging off the tree reflecting it perfectly, showing how beautiful it was. Tiny rose gold diamonds surrounding the oval one, giving it a beautiful and complexed, yet very unique and simple finish that took your breath away.

'I’ve known you for a really long time now. We’ve been through a lot, the bad and the good, ended up being seperated a few times and somehow we have always managed to find our ways back to each other, as if we were meant to be. If someone had told me two years ago that I would be kneeling in front of the most beautiful girl in the world with a ring in my hands, I would laugh at them and tell them they’re crazy. Because- I have never thought that I would get a chance for a normal life again, I thought I would never find someone who could love me and someone I could love more than my own life, someone I would do anything to keep them happy everyday. And then, I met you. A simple, yet special and like no other girl, who took my heart and made me fall in love with her. I can’t imagine not having you in my life. You are my strenght and my weakness and a day without you is a complete torture for me. I will love you forever and I will make sure that you have the most amazing life with me because that’s where I want to be. Next to you. Every single day. And that’s why, I’m asking you, will you do me an extraodinary honor and marry me?’ Kai trailed off and you couldn’t suppress the tears anymore. They were falling down your cheeks, but they were happy tears. You were overwhelmed by happiness and were completely lost for words even though you knew what your answer would be when you first laid eyes on Kai, kneeling in front of you.

'Yes. Yes, yes! A million times yes!’ You shouted and threw yourself into Kai’s arms, not caring if anyone from your neighbours have heard you shouting. At that moment, you were the happiest girl alive and somehow, deep down, you had always known that you and Kai would be together for a very long time. Kai picked you up and spun you around, planting dozens of kisses all over your face, unable to hide how happy he was and you couldn’t describe how happy you felt as well. It was a feeling that you had never even thought you would get to experience and you felt as if your body would explode from happiness and your love for Kai. You fell in love with him all over again, even though you have been falling in love with him more and more every single day you had spent with him.
He let you down on your feet, but his arms were still wrapped around your body, a big smile still illuminating on his face, your tear falling down again. They were happy tears and all the built up emotions you had been holding in, flooded to the surface and you had finally realized how lucky you were to find such a perfect guy as Malachai Parker. His thumb caressed your cheek, wiping your tears away. His gentle hands cupped your face as he leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss on your lips.

'I can’t tell you how happy I am right now. You had made my biggest wish come true. I was scared that- that you might say no. I was nervous the entire day.’ Kai spoke up and looked nervous or scared even, as if you were going to change your mind about the answer you had given him. You smiled for a split second and ran your fingers through his hair that felt so silky and soft under your touch.

'You have won me over with just being here with me.’

'The ring and all off this is just icing on the cake.’ Kai said, making you laugh, but even when you stopped laughing, his eyes were still focused on you, admiring your face and how beautiful you looked under the soft lights and moonlight. 'I love you.’

'I love you too. So much. My heart aches because of how much I love you, but somehow, that is exactly what I need to feel alive.’ He hadn’t said a word. He just smiled and then walked over to a small basket placed on the ground, taking out two glasses and pouring you and him some champagne, dropping a nice red strawberry to the bottom of the glass before giving it to you. You took a sip and for some reason, you had gotten nervous.

'So, what we were talking about before. Do you still- um- want to?’ No further explaination was needed. You knew he was talking about making a baby with you and it made your breath hitch, including the lump in your throat that for some reason didn’t let you breathe properly.

'Really? You’re ready?’ He stepped closer, his hand finding it’s way to your back, pulling you close to his body as he planted a kiss on your neck, making you throw your head back.

'Ready as I’ll ever be. I’m ready for this and as much as I hate to share, I’m ready to share you with our kid, who will be just as beautiful as his mom.’

'So, it will be a boy?’ You furrowed your bows and chuckled.

'We’ll see.’ He kissed your neck in the way only he knew and the spot he needed to touch, which you felt all the way down there. You bit your lip and closed your eyes, trying to suppress your moans.

'Should we- um- take this to our room?’ You breathed out, your eyes meeting Kai’s. He chuckled and nodded before taking your glass and placed it on the grass next to his glass. You swallowed hard when he picked you up swiftly, carrying you into the house and to your shared room, closing the doors with his foot.

'Is this really necessary?’ You asked him, his eyebrows furrowing as if you had just asked him the most impossible question that has ever existed in the world. He still kept quiet as he put you down and turned on a lamp that was placed on a beautiful antique nightstand, lighting up the room just enough so he could see your face. You traced your fingers over the drawers and sighed heavily. You felt as if you had just agreed on sleeping with Kai for the first time ever. You have never been this nervous in your life and were kind of scared. You got lost in your mind but quickly snapped out of if when you felt Kai’s hands on your waist, hugging your from behind while his lips found your sweet spot on your neck, making you close your eyes.

'You’re nervous?’ He whispered and waited for your response, but you just nodded, as if you were scared to say it out loud. 'We don’t have to do it now. There’s so much time for us to-’ you cut him off by placing a swift kiss on his lips, all the nervousness suddenly leaving your body.

'I want this. I want you. So, please, Kai. Make love to me.’ You trailed off and it didn’t take him long to pull you in for a deep and passionate kiss, his hands sliding into your back pockets, grabbing your ass tightly and then press his crotch against you. You tugged at his shirt before you slipped your hands under it, tracing your fingers over his toned torso. He tugged at your bottom lip a bit before he pulled away just enough to give you space to take his shirt off. You threw it down on the floor and it didn’t take him long enough to kiss you again, his fingers slowly unbuttoning your shirt, button by button and it felt like torture. He was doing everything so slowly, and it was driving you crazy. He reached the last button and unbuttoned it, spreading your shirt just enough to get a good look on your black bra that fitted you perfectly. He pushed your shirt down, sliding perfectly down your arm and falling down on the floor. He reached behind you and unhooked your bra, your boobs completely exposed to him and his touch.

'Beautiful.’ He cupped your one boob and squeezed it gently, twisting your nipple carefully between two fingers, feeling it getting harder under his touch. “You always respond so nicely to my touch.’ His hand left your boob as he slowly traced his fingers down your stomach until he reached the button on your jeans. He unbuttoned them, pushing his hand inside your underwear and touched you just where you wanted him. 'I like it.’ He pushed one finger inside you and curled it around, the way you closed your eyes and threw your head back at the feeling making him hard. Just when you started moaning quietly, he took his finger out of you and when you wanted to protest as to why he has done that, he pressed his fingers on your clit, breath hitching in your throat. He started making slow figure eights on your clit, his mouth opening slightly, his member getting harder as each second passed, dying to feel how perfectly your walls felt around him. He sped up, his movements getting a bit rougher than before, and everytime he pressed harder, a loud moan escaped your mouth. You kept pushing your hips forward, wanting to make more friction as you felt yourself getting closer to your release. You grabbed onto the table behind you so hard that your knuckles had turned white, your walls slightly clenching.

'Kai…’ you moaned out, Kai’s eyes strongly focused on you, watching your every move and how perfectly you responded to his marvelous touch. 'Oh god.’ Your walls clenched even more and just as your orgasm started approaching, Kai’s fingers left your body and you were back where you were at the begining. The feeling started fading away, but your frustration was getting more and more obvious. Kai showed you a mischevious smile and planted a soft kiss on one of your boobs before he licked his fingers and made a popping sound when his fingers left his mouth, devouring them as if your arousal was his favourite dessert. He pushed your jeans down your legs and took them off, followed by panties that matched your bra perfectly. You were standing naked in front of him, hungry for his body and hungry for his touch. He placed his hands on your boobs, feeling your nipples, but not for long. He traced his fingers down your stomach as he went lower and lower until he reached your ankle, blowing slightly on your heat, making your breath hitch. He smiled again, his eyes a darker shade of blue, filled with lust.

'Jump.’ He ordered and you obliged, jumping onto the table behind you. His hands pushed your legs further apart, exposing your heat to him. He pulled you a little bit closer before he knelt down in front of you and burried his head inbetween your legs, his tongue poking your entrance. He pushed his tongue inside you, collecting your arousal. You intertwined your fingers with his hair as you felt his tongue massaging your clit slowly, pleasure taking over your body completely and just when you were least expecting it, he pushed two fingers inside you and started curling them around. His tongue matched the movements his fingers were doing and you knew you wouldn’t be able to hold back for too long when you felt your orgasm slowly approaching.

'Please, don’t s-stop.’ You stuttered and leaned against the wall as Kai started sucking on your clit, almost a scream escaping your mouth as your orgasm tore through your entire body, shaking under Kai’s touch. When you came down from your high, he pulled out his fingers out of you and licked them clean again.

'I can’t wait to show you how much I want this.’ He murmured and quickly unbuttoned his jeans, pushing them down along with his boxers, his lenght springing free, hitting his stomach as your eyes went wide at his size. You reached out your hand, wanting to touch him, but he slapped it away and wrapped his own hand around his member. He started pumping it in front of you, the sight of it making you bite your lip. He circled around his tip with his thumb, collecting his pre-cum and bringing it up to your mouth to taste him. He picked you up and carried to the bed, placing you down slowly. He couldn’t help but stare at you, as if he was memorizing every square inch of your naked body.

'What?’ You chuckled.

'Nothing, just admiring how freaking perfect you look naked.’ He said and climbed on top of you, his arms on each side of your body, supporting his weight.

'Stop it.’ You chuckled and hit his arm playfully, your faces going serious shorter after that. You swallowed hard and combed Kai’s hair with your fingers, admiring how beautiful he looked under the dimmed lights.

'Ready?’ You nodded and reached between your bodies to get ahold of Kai’s member. You pumped him a few times before leading him to your entrance, pushing only his tip in. 'I love you.’

'I love you too.’ You whispered and then felt Kai slowly pushing his thick shaft into you, streching you out just the way you loved it. Your skin was on fire and you felt as if you were going to explode. Every Kai’s touch almost hurt because of how sensitive your skin was. His mouth formed a perfect o shape when he entered you completely, your tight walls perfectly wrapped around him. He refused to move until he was sure that you had ajusted to his size, but no words were needed when you bucked your hips up and on purposely clenched around him, a quiet moan escaping his mouth, but even after that, he kept still.

'Please, Kai, move.’ You muttered, tracing invisible patterns with your fingers on his back and lifting your hips up at the same time, your legs wrapping around his body. He smiled and slowly pulled out, not even a second after that, he pushed in again, filling you up completely. You threw your head back in pleaure as Kai hit your spot each time he went in. He pressed his forehead on yours, his blue eyes deeply piercing into yours while his hips kept thrusting into you, changing their pace between fast and slow.

'Shit, Kai!’ You moaned out and lifted your head up, just enough to reach his shoulder as you bit on it slightly, but even that didn’t help with your loud moans. Kai had always known how to make you go crazy, he knew your body just as good as you did. For a second, you had forgotten about everything around you. It was just you and Kai, doing something you have been longing for and it was finally happening.
He lifted your hips up, his hands supporting you as he found a knew angle to thrust in. He went all the way in, as deep as he could, his thrusts not so slow anymore. He felt how your walls clenched around him, as he knew that you were close to yet another release. He focused on hitting your spot constantly, his hips relentlessly slamming into you, only moans and skin on skin sound echoing through the bedroom.

'Kai, I’m- I’m c-lose’ you stuttered, barely finding the strenght to speak up, a familiar feeling in the pit of your stomach getting more and more evident.

'Me too.’ He reached for your clit and started rubbing it in rough figure eights, wanting you to finish again before him.

'Fuck.’ You screamed out and started shaking, your second orgasm tearing through your body, even making you a little bit dizzy. As your wall clenched tightly around Kai’s thick shaft, it triggered his orgasm as he came inside you in short spurts, riding out your and his orgasm completely. He collapsed on top of you, his head pressed against your chest, listening how your fast heartbeat started slowing down. He pulled out of you and laid beside you, covering you both with a blanket, pulling you into his arms.

'I have a feeling we made a baby tonight.’ Kai said, making you chuckle. You had never imagined that Kai would be the one who wanted a baby so much. You had always thought that it would be you, but somehow, it was completely opposite.

'Maybe we did.’ He kissed your forehead and hugged you even tighter as you couldn’t hide a huge smile on your face for the rest of the night.

9 months and one week have passed and you still haven’t delivered the baby. It was getting tougher for you to do anything because you couldn’t even see your feet from your big belly and everything that required working under your belly, was something Kai took over, massaging your feet was the main thing he did every single day, multiple times. He helped you with everything, took over cooking and cleaning while you relaxed on a nice deck chair with a book in your hands and a glass of fresh orange juice next to you on a small table. You have almost finished your 9th book. Even though you didn’t like reading that much before, you certainly read a bunch of them in those nine months. You took a sip of your freshly squeezed orange juice and took a small piece of blueberry pancakes. They were delicious, like everything else Kai had made you.

'Enjoying the sun?’ Kai walked out of the house and into the garden, placing a kiss on the top of your head and rubbed your shoulders a little bit before he sat down next to you, a smile flashing on his face.

'Mhm’ you murmured and tried to focus on your book, unsure if you even heard Kai’s question properly.

'How are you feeling?’ Kai asked and you finally lifted your gaze from the book and looked at him, showing him a big smile as you exhaled deeply. The moment he saw you smiling, he couldn’t help but smile as well, his now beautiful wife, looking more beautiful than ever with a baby on the way.

'Tired. If only this baby could finally get out.’ You said, Kai’s chuckle sounding like music to your ears. He got up and knelt down beside you, placing his hands on your belly and planted a gentle kiss.

'Hey, little one. I know you like it in there, but I think it’s time you get out and meet your parents. I think you might like it out here more than you love it in there. We don’t want mommy to get too tired, she deserves some rest after carrying you and taking care of you for nine months.’ Kai trailed off, his fingers carresing your belly, drawing invisible patterns on it. You smiled at his words, your heart melting at how sweet and carrying he was. It only made you realize how much you love him and how happy you are to have him as your husband and as the future father of your child. You reached out your hand and ran your fingers through his hair before gently pressing your palm on his cheek, making Kai lean on it, your gentle touch calming him down a little bit.

'If you keep talking to the baby like that, maybe she will listen to you. Or he. Soon we will know. As long as it’s healthy, doesn’t matter the gender.’

'You are going to be an amazing mother. I know it.’ Kai said and leaned in to kiss your lips, but before he could press his lips onto yours, you quietly winced in pain, sudden pain kicking through your body.

'What is it? What’s happening?’ Kai wanted to do everything to help you. Seeing how you winced in pain, was not easy for him to watch. Your face went serious and you looked down, a wet spot appearing underneath you, which could have only meant one thing.

'My water just broke. It’s time, Kai.’ You trailed off and it took him some time to gather his thoughts and process the words that came out of your mouth. His smile got bigger and bigger as each second passed, happiness radiating through his body as he couldn’t contain the excitement. He cupped your face and kissed you deeply.

'Ok. We have everything packed. Clothes, baby stuff.’ He murmured and ran into the house as if he had forgotten about you. You slowly got up and sauntered into the house, looking for clean sweatpants. Kai appeared out of nowhere with full hands, probably picking up everything he landed his hands on. You couldn’t help but laugh, but also feel safer knowing everything was going as you and Kai had planned.

'And you.’ He stated, dropping everything down on the floor as he rushed towards you, helping you to change your sweatpants, acting a little bit too careful as if you were made out of glass.

'You ok?’

'Despite that I’m having some really painful contractions, I’m delighted.’ He chuckled and grabbed you by your arm, slowly leading you out of the house and into the car, making sure to put your seat belt on before he rushed into the house to get all of the stuff you needed.

Ride to the hospital was quiet, with occasional grunting coming from you, your contractions getting closer to one another. Kai’s gaze was strongly focused on the road, driving carefully but fast enough to get you there as soon as possible. As you were getting closer to the hospital, you were starting to get nervous and fear found its way into your body. Even though you have already been through that, you still thought that you couldn’t do it.

'Kai, I- I don’t think I can do this.’ You muttered, fear obvious in your voice, your heartbeat picking up its pace. You ran your fingers through your hair and not long after that, Kai parked the car in front of the hospital.

'Look at me-’

'No, I-’ he unfastened your seat belt along with his and cupped your face with both of his hands, his eyes locking with yours.

'Take a deep breath. You can do this. You are the strongest woman I have ever met and I know you can do this. I need you to be strong now, you can’t give up, ok?’ Kai trailed off, your breathing slowing down just as your heartbeat. You closed your eyes and took a few deep breaths, as you felt your body slowly relaxing. You nodded and showed Kai a smile, his hand tucking a small lock of hair behind your ear.

He helped you out of the car and found your doctor who took you to your room. Your contractions were getting more and more frequent, but only after three hours they took you to a delivery room. Kai was beside you the entre time, his hand in your hand. At times you had squeezed his hand so hard that you had thought you would break it, but from the look of his face, he wasn’t paying much attention to it. He was making sure that you were ok, asking you all the time how you felt. It was starting to get annoying, but it felt nice to see how much Kai wanted to keep you safe, ready to do anything if something went wrong. You pushed one last time as hard as you could and after a few moments, baby’s crying echoed through the room.

'It’s a girl.’ The nurse said and placed her carefully on your arms, tears suddenly forming in your eyes. Your heart melted when she grabbed your finger with her tiny hand and squeezed it. She looked so small and fragile, yet she seemed stronger than ever. Her smile was the most beautiful thing you have ever seen in your life. You lifted your head up and looked at Kai who had the biggest smile on his face. He leaned down and kissed you, his thumb wiping away your tears off your cheeks.

'She looks exactly like you.’ Kai whispered, gently caressing the baby’s head. You couldn’t hide your smile and couldn’t suppress your tears anymore. 'What’s wrong?’ Kai asked, planting a soft kiss on your cheek.

'Nothing, I’m- I can’t believe how lucky I am to have such a perfect life. I love you so much words can’t describe.’ Kai smiled and kissed you again, feeling exactly the same as you did and seeing the love of his life and his daughter made his heart melt and made it a bit warmer.

1:30am

You opened your eyes and looked around, noticing you were in a different room, all the lights dimmed but your eyes focused on something else. Kai was standing in the middle of the room with the baby in his arms, swaying his body carefully.

'Hey, little one. I’m your dad. I will take care of you and will make sure you have the best life in the world. I love you so much. I won’t let anything happen to you. You mean more to me than my own life.’ He leaned down and gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead, a smile appearing on his face. You quietly chuckled which made Kai turn around, his eyes finding yours.

'Hey. How do you feel? Tired?’ He whispered and walked towards you, gently placing your daughter in your arms.

'A bit tired and sore, but, I’m fine. More than fine.’ You whispered and moved a little bit as Kai laid on the bed beside you, wrapping his arm around you.

'I can’t tell you how happy I am and how grateful I am to have you in my life. I really want to say thank you for giving life to this little one. I will always love you. Forever.’ He trailed off, a single tear streaming down your face. You quickly wiped it away and pecked Kai’s lips before both, you and Kai looked down at your baby daughter, only happiness radiating through your body as you finally realized how your perfect life has just begun and how the end of it was nowhere near.

17. “Are you okay?”
19. “I’m worried about you.”

You noticed things. It was all art of your job but it was part of you. You noticed things that not everybody would - it helped at a crime scene or brainstorming in the squad room but this time there was no crime scene it was Tony that had caught you eye. After his stint undercover to help take down ‘The Frog’ it wasn’t a secret to anyone on the team that it had hit him hard, however, his body language and lack of talking concerned you - normally you couldn’t shut the special agent up.

“Guess who has two thumbs and is the greatest boyfriend ever? This guy!” You glanced over at Harry with a weak smile before burying yourself deeper under the covers while Harry continued babbling about how wonderful of a significant other he was. “Feelin’ any better?” He stopped his brag session to set the bag of supplies down on the foot of the bed and take his coat off.

“I didn’t think it was possible, but I feel even worse.” You murmured, wincing when you felt your stomach cramp up again. Periods were the worst. It was a way for your body to basically tell you: ‘You’re 100% not pregnant! Ooh, and heads up, I'm going to fucking obliterate your insides for the next week now.’ Sometimes the pain was bearable, but this particular month’s cycle made it feel as if you were slowly deteriorating, mentally and physically. You didn’t want to move, you didn’t want to eat anything, you wanted to cry and laugh at the same time - the point was, periods were the worst. Although, from Harry’s perspective, he noticed your friskiness levels would shoot through the roof when you were on your period and he didn’t mind that at all. But he’d never tell you that for fear you’d rip his head off in anger during one of your mood swings.

“Poor baby… I went to the grocery store on my way home from the gym cos I thought some treats would make you feel better! Plus, I picked up some more pads and tampons for you in case you needed them. I wasn’t sure whether you liked pads more or tampons more so I got a whole slew of them for yeh.” Harry shrugged, flipping the plastic bag over and letting a whole pile of supplies fall onto the bed. You smiled weakly and pushed yourself up so you were sitting with your back against the headboard, your eyes scanning over the bits and bobs Harry had bought for you.

“That’s really sweet of you, H. You didn’t have to.” You chuckled lightly, reaching over to grab what looked like a package of pads. “I- Harry, these are adult diapers.”

“…You said your flow was particularly heavy this month and-”

“Do you… think I need adult diapers?!” Your eyes immediately began to water, your face scrunching up in a mixture of both anger and sadness. How humiliating! You were just on your period but Harry thought you were such a disaster that you needed an actual diaper?! The panic bells in Harry’s head immediately started ringing, Harry dropping the box of tampons he was holding on the bed and rushing over to your side of the bed.

“No- No, no! I just thought- No, it was my bad, love. The packaging looked like they were pads, and I made a mistake. You do not need adult diapers, and you’re perfectly fine using normal pads.” Harry snatched the package away from you and threw it towards the bin. “No tears, there we go.” Harry cooed, reaching over and wiping a couple stray tears away. You sniffled and rubbed at your eyes, pulling the covers up a little.

“What else did you buy?”

“Ooh, I found this cute little joke book for when I was lining up to pay. I figured you needed a laugh so I picked it up.” Harry grinned excitedly. Truthfully, he bought it for himself, but after that adult diaper fiasco, he needed something to try and make you feel better. “Wanna hear a joke?”

“I-”

“Okay, here we go. Knock knock.”

“Who’s there?”

“Little old lady.”

“Harry, I’m really not in the mood to-”

“Nuh-uh, you’re supposed to say-”

“Little old lady who?”

“…I didn’t know you could yodel!” Harry snorted, chuckling to himself as he continued flipping through the book. “This stuff is genius, I tell yeh!” It was when he caught a glance at your clearly unimpressed expression that the smile dropped from his face. Uh-oh. He messed up with the adult diapers, and now he messed up with sharing what seemed to be a terrible joke to you. It was amazing in his eyes.

“Harry, I-”

“Look, I have a whole bag of chocolates for you!” Harry cut you off, picking up the bag and showing it to you. “There are Twix bars, Snickers bars, M&M’s, Reese’s pieces…” He trailed off, reading the back of the package. These were all very unhealthy and he would much rather you nibble on those organic animal crackers you liked so much from Whole Foods.

“Harry, I just want you to-”

“I even picked up some magazines for you! They’re mostly cooking ones because I’ve been looking to practice my cooking but- Well, you can still take a look at them!” Harry stammered, going through his pile, seemingly desperate to find something else to present to you.

“Harry, just c’mere and snuggle!” You snapped, your brows knitting together in frustration. You patted his side of the bed, looking at him expectantly.

“I- What?” Harry looked at you in a confused manner, tilting his head slightly. “You don’ want- You don’t want anything?”

“I will definitely attack the bag of treats later, but for now I jus’ need a cuddle from my boyfriend. It’ll really make me feel better.” You pouted, smiling lightly when Harry complied and slipped into bed with you. He wrapped his arms around you as you shoved your face into the crook of his neck, your eyes fluttering shut. He rubbed comforting circles on your back before pressing a kiss on the top of your forehead.

“You sure you won’t consider the adult diapers? I hear they’re super absorbent-”

Harry!

Imagine you and Chris talking about your future together.

A/N: Epilogue ❤️❤️❤️ I don’t know how I decided to end up here, but as a reader- I’m just overjoyed that my brain came up with this. *heart exploding, quietly dying* Oh, and before you ask- there will be more chapters to come. Anyhoo…Let’s get on with it. Enjoy! You can read the previous parts here: (Mini-series - Masterlist; Mini-series Spin-off: ‘Unexpected Reader - Masterlist’, ‘Little Ways Away - Part 1/Part 2/Part 3/Part 4/Part 5A/5B)

You and Chris did not end up talking after entering his house together, and by together- the two of you were basically one. He swept you off your feet, like he did the first time you got together and carried you inside his house. The state of tidiness of his vacant house transformed the second the two of you got inside, scattered items of clothing on the floor and furniture moved from their original place. Then there was the quick break in-between that left his kitchen bench with two used wine glasses and a half-emptied out bottle of your favorite wine; Moscato. His pristine bathroom suffered slightly too; a non-traditional bath and shower were had, one after the other. Let’s just say the two of you made good use of whatever precious time you had together, reintroducing yourself to your partner and familiarizing every inch and every curve you could of each other before you had to say goodbye again.

“We’re not going to sleep, are we?” Chris murmured into your hair, chuckling softly when he saw what time it was; 4:47AM. You smiled and shook your head, tightening the arm you had draped over his torso. “It is so good to be back in bed with you,” he admitted. “Amongst other things,” he whispered flirtatiously then chuckled when you buried your face into his chest, blushing deeply. “Here I was thinking we wouldn’t have time,” he poked your side and you squirmed, laughing.

“Oh please,” you pulled away from him and sat up, turning your whole body to face him as you sat crossed legged. “Like you were actually going to talk to me after we just made up.” He laughed. “You’re a guy,” you bit playfully and he scoffed, pretending to be offended. “You were going to make use of the make-up sex before anything else.” You chuckled when he scrunched his nose, smiling and nodding in agreement. “But that’s okay, ‘cause I can be a real guy sometimes too.” He laughed, placing a hand on his left pec. “But,” you began as you tried to stop laughing along with him. “Now we can actually talk, because it’s obvious we need to if we want this to last. And I want this to last,” you told him with a great deal of emphasis.

“Me too,” he nodded and sat up straight, leaning against his headboard and reaching for your hand; your fingers entwined with his. “Okay,” he let out a quick sigh, “um- let’s figure out where we went wrong this time and avoid doing it again at all cost.”

“There’s not much to figure out because I already know where we went wrong, and by we- I mean…Me,” you mumbled sheepishly then pursed your lips. “It was entirely my fault,” you said when you saw him tried to correct you. “I should’ve just talked to you, Chris. Asked you for help and depended on you rather than toughing it out. As your girlfriend, it was a prerogative and I failed to use it. Everything that came after was because of my idiocy, and I’m sorry.”

“You weren’t the only one,” he shook his head, squeezing your hand. “I should have approached things with a more rational and mature perspective. I am the adult in the relationship, after all.” He said then chuckled when you scoffed with a smile. “I knew you were doing it all to prevent me from worrying and I should have left it alone, but I had a bad day and I really wanted to hear your voice and- I don’t know, things just got out of hand.” You nodded in agreement with a small smile on your lips. “I’m really sorry I said all those things, I didn’t mean any of it. You know that, right?”

“Oh,” you narrowed your eyes in confusion as you began to tease him. “So you didn’t mean it when you said you’re nowhere near fucking perfect?” He could hear the playful tone in your voice so he just chuckled. “How you can’t be the perfect guy I want you to be? Oh, and what was that you said- you don’t know how to live up to my incredibly high expectations?”

“I don’t like how good your memory is.”

“And I don’t like how fucking perfect you are,” you retorted with a smile, making him smile. “Look-” you began then cut yourself off with a sigh. “I know you did mean what you said when you said all that,” you told him and he immediately tried to defend himself when you stopped him. “No, I’m not-” you chuckled, “I’m not mad. I just wanted to let you know that- you’re wrong, Chris. You are perfect and you are the perfect guy I want and need in my life.” The smile on his lips returned and you found yourself smiling along with him. “And I know my expectations are ridiculously high and incredibly intimidating, but- you’ve never disappointed me before. I mean- you risked your job and flew back for me. I’ve never had a guy give up the last bite of chocolate cake, let alone do what you just did.”

“I find that very hard to believe,” he chuckled.

“Well- believe it,” you chuckled, “because it’s true. No one has ever put me above their own wants and needs and responsibilities before. You are the first, which is why I intend to make you my last,” you told him and he smiled, grabbing your wrist and pulling you onto him. You chuckled, breaking your fall with your hand as your body crashed against his. “You are the kind of guy I write about and could only dream of being with, so thank you. Thank you for coming to life and for making what I thought could only be a dream- a reality,” you whispered, your lips inches from his.

“You just cannot stop that writer’s brain of yours, can you?” He chuckled, gently tucking the loose strains of your hair behind your ear. You chuckled softly and shook your head, caressing his bearded face in your hand. “You’re very welcome, Y/N. And you know what, I never thought I’d find a girl like you. You are the kind of girl I read about and could only dream of being with, so thank you. Thank you for finding me, for giving me a chance, and for helping me achieve a love as strong as the one you wrote about.” He leaned in and was about to press his lips against yours when you leaned back and pressed the pads of your right hand fingers on his lips. “What?”

“You kinda plagiarized my words,” you told him and he chuckled, playfully nibbling on your fingers. “Ah, Chris!” You giggled and pulled your hand away, resting it on his chest. “But luckily I love you too much to care,” you smiled and leaned in, meeting his lips for the- hundredth time that night. “I love you, Chris Evans.”

“And I love you too,” he whispered back then mumbled under his breath, “Y/N Evans.” You pulled back, biting back your smile as you raised an eyebrow at him. “What?” He chuckled. “I already said I was going to marry you. Even if you don’t take my last name for professional reasons- like young Y/N in your mini-series, you’re still going to be an Evans.”

“You do realize we’re not married yet, right? I mean-” you held up your left hand and wiggled your empty ring finger at him, making him chuckle softly. “We’re not even engaged yet, Chris. I know we will be one day, but don’t get ahead of yourself.” You teased him and he gently pushed you off him. “What?” You laughed when he got out of bed, walking over to his dresser. “I’m just teasing you. Are you really that offended?” He glanced back at you and made a face that quite easily said “you’re ridiculous”. “No, you’re ridiculous,” you quipped back, tossing a pillow at him.

“Do you want to know what getting ahead of myself looks like?” He quizzed, pulling something out of his sock drawer. His back was turned towards you so you couldn’t see what was in his hand, you could only guess. The assumption was enough to stop yourself from breathing. “Getting ahead of myself is getting an engagement ring before I even ask the girl I want to marry to be my girlfriend.” He turned around and held up a traditional Tiffany&Co ring box. “That’s um- that’s getting ahead of myself,” he chuckled softly.

“Oh my God,” you covered your mouth with both hands, hiding your growing smile and utter shock.

“I was going to keep it until you were a little older,” he told you as he made his way back towards the bed. He sat down opposite you, holding the box out. “But um- I don’t know, this seems as good a time as any. We don’t have to get married immediately, we can just be engaged until the right time comes along.” He realized you still hadn’t said anything and he winced, quickly adding, “if you’re down for a long engagement, of course. If you’re not, I can put this back and we can forget this ever happened. I just wanted you to know I am serious about marrying you, I’m not just saying it for fun. Can you please say something?” He chuckled, pulling your hands from your mouth.

“I’m sorry, I’m- that is a ring box,” you said as a matter-of-fact and he chuckled, nodding as he held it up. “From Tiffany&Co, like- like my story.” He nodded again, smiling. “And you- you want to propose now if I’m okay with a long engagement? Which- obviously we’ll be having ‘cause Infinity War and-” you pointed at yourself as you continued to breathlessly ramble, “university.”

“Mm hm,” another nod from Chris. “It’s your call, sweetheart. ‘Cause I’m down for anything as long as you’re the person I’m doing it with.” You let out a quick breath as your eyes fell back on the ring box that Chris was fiddling with in his hand; left and right, he’d turn it. “We don’t have to do this, we can wait a few years and I can propose with more-”

“Yes,” you cut him off with a nod and Chris felt his heart skip a beat.

“Yes…as in?” He quizzed and you nodded which confused him even more, though the smile on his face told you that he knew what your 'yes’ meant. “Like- you want to get engaged now or you want to wait a few years?”

“Yes, I want to get engaged now!” You answered with a laugh and he managed a nervous one as he fumbled to open the box, revealing the ring you’d always imagined you’d get from him; he really knew you well. “Oh my God,” you breathed as he gently pulled it from the box, taking your left hand. “This is- this is not happening.” He chuckled as he slipped it into place; a perfect, glistening fit. “I’m engaged to Chris Evans.”

“Yes you are,” he chuckled, leaning forward to peck your lips. “And you know what that means, don’t you?” He teased in a suggestive tone, making you laugh as you rose to rest your weight on your knees. “See,” he chuckled as your arms wrapped around your neck and his hands moved to rest on your waist. “We’re made for each other.”

Chapter 3 is in the works.  Chapter 3, Part 1

Friends 1989: part one

Word count: 4153

Kai Parker x reader ft. Jo

Summary: It’s 1989 in Portland where the reader, Kai and Jo are all best friends. But sometimes emotions get in the way of friendship.

a/n: im honest to god doing like ten parts for this lmao. i hope you enjoy! let me know what you think because it would really mean a lot to me :) As well, part two is coming out on friday, nov. 24th !!

You headed to your locker as the bell rang at the end of the day and dumped out your notebooks, waiting for kai to come along. The only classes you two had together were english and math, so every afternoon he would come by your locker and you would walk home with him.

“Hey,” Kai greets. “How was bio?”

You can’t help but groan as you grab your jacket. “Don’t even get me started. I have a huge test tomorrow.”

“Crap, so do I.” Kai realizes. You both took all the same classes and had all the same teachers but still only had two classes together. You link your arm with his and start walking back to Kai’s house.

“I guess we’ll have to study, then.” You tell him.

“Of course.” Kai groans.

The two of you laugh as you continue down the street. Kai’s house was your home as well, even though you two weren’t even related, just best friends. Everyday after school you went to his house and stayed over until supper, sometimes you would even spend the night. Joshua treated you as one of his own and you always felt welcomed. You even kept some of your clothes over there for the next day.

You let yourself in as kai closes the door behind himself, and take off your shoes.

“Hello, y/n.” Joshua greets. “How was school?”

“Terrible.” Kai answers.

“We have a huge test tomorrow.” You explain.

“Well, I’ll let you kids go study.” He smiles.

The two of you run to the kitchen first, just like you always did, to grab a snack. You push kai out of the way as he tries to get to the kitchen before you and the two of you both laugh. Kai grabs his usual pork rinds as you search the fridge.

“You bought me ice cream?” You exclaim, taking out the tub and laying it on the counter.

“Yeah,” Kai laughs. “What are you doing?”

“Getting a bowl?” You ask.

“Just take the whole tub. We bought it for a reason, you know.”

You smile as you take the pork rinds and ice cream upstairs. You race to his room as well, laughing so hard over something so stupid, causing Jo to pop out of her room.

“Spoiling supper much, you two?” She grins.

“Hey, jo!” You greet her. Kai pushes past you so you push him hard, making him the both of you laugh even more. Jo goes back to listing to her music as kai slams his bedroom door.

Jo was just as much of your friend as kai was, even though you didn’t hang out as much. Jo always walked home before the two of you and mostly stayed in her room. Kai after all was the glue that held the three of you together.

You throw the bag of pork rinds at kai as he collapses on his bed. You take out your textbook and plop down next to him, opening up the ice cream.

“Put that down. Please.” Kai whines.

“No way am I putting down this ice cream.” You snap. “Not until you put down those nasty pork rinds!” You smile.

“No, the textbook. I don’t want to do this y/n. Let’s just watch a movie.”

“Study first, movie second.” You tell him, grabbing a pork rind.

“Pleeeeease y/n?” He drawls out. How could you say no to him?

“Fine. But only a short one.”

///

Hours later the two of you were sitting on the floor, somehow still eating ice cream and pork rinds. Kai had crumbs all over his shirt and the floor was an absolute mess from the dripping ice cream. The movie was almost over and you wished it could have been longer, because you didn’t want it to end.

“Supper’s ready.” Jo says as she knocks on the door.

Kai throws the remaining junk food under his bed and switches off the tv before jo can come in and notice that the two of you hadn’t done anything but goof off this entire time. You open the door before Jo can, thankfully.

“Hey y/n,” Jo says as the three of you walk downstairs. “I was thinking we could play truth or dare later? That is if you’re staying the night.”

“I wasn’t planning on it but I could never pass up a good game.” You smile.

“Forgetting about someone?” Kai interrupts. “I am allowed to play truth or dare too.”

“Of course.” Jo says as she takes her seat at the table.

Kai and jo’s other siblings all sat at the table too, Joshua at the end. You sat next to kai as always. Kai’s father had really outdone himself tonight, like he did every Thursday evening. Macaroni, bread rolls, everything you could ask for all sat in the middle of table. Supper with the parkers was always ten times better than eating at a restaurant.

Everyone digs into the food, filling themselves. The fresh bread rolls are the first to go, as usual.

“How is your studying going, malachai?” Joshua asks.

You glance at Kai, and his eyes widen. He was a terrible liar. He always smiled and laughed when he lied and everyone could see right through him.

Kai starts to chuckle as he shoves more food in his mouth.

“Shut up, Kai.” You mutter. “Pretty good.” You cover for him.

“That’s what I like to hear.” Joshua smiles, taking a bite of his roll.

Supper was amazing as always. It was Joey’s turn to help wash the dishes so you, Kai and jo were free to go after you were done eating.

“How about that game of truth or dare, now?” Jo asks.

“Yeah, definitely!” Kai says, sarcastically. “Cause why wouldn’t I want to play a chicks game?”

“Hey,” you say, hitting kai. “You were the one who agreed to play.”

“And it’s not a girls game!” Jo laughs. “It’s a fun game! I’ll be back in a second.” She runs into her room to grab the mason jars; one with dares and the other with truths inside. She sits down on the floor in Kai’s room and the two of you join her.

“Who wants to go first?” She asks. “I vote y/n.”

“Fine.” You agree.

“So y/n.” Jo says, drawling out the last part of your name. “Truth or dare?” She whispers.

“Truth.”

“Classic y/n.” Kai laughs.

Jo scrambles the paper around in the jar and finally pulls out one.

“Ooooh.” She gasps. Her eyes grow ten times larger when she reads it. “Do you have a crush?” Jo loved hearing all the latest gossip. If something happened in school, Jo was the first to know.

Kai and Jo stare you down, waiting for an answer. The three of you were such close friends, why wouldn’t you tell the truth? Part of you didn’t want to because you feared what would be in store if they found out who it was. But life is all about taking risks, right? At least that’s what Kai had taught you.

“Okay fine.” You give in. “I do.”

“well who is it?” Kai’s eyes widen. “How did I not know about this?”

“What’s he like! Who is he!” Jo claps her hands like a kid, waiting to hear all about him.

“Hes perfect.” You accidentally look at Kai a second too long. You already felt like he knew.

“He has this best personality and he’s so kind and funny. Did I mention he’s like the sweetest guy alive?”

“Ooooh y/n is in love!” Jo exclaims.

“Oh Shut up.” You toss a pillow at her as you all laugh.

“Any other details we should know about this mystery guy?” Kai asks.

“Nope. That’s enough for now.” You smile. “Well enough of that. Kai, your turn.”

“Truth.”

“Malachai Parker! Did you just pull a y/n?” Jo gasps, batting her eyelashes. She leans back in fake shock.

Kai picked a truth? This was bigger than when Kai had let Joey beat him at Dr.Mario. Kai never picked a truth before. He always chose dares because it meant he could do something stupid that made everyone laugh.

“Why, josette! I believe I just did!” He exclaims, making you dissolve into a fit of laughter.

Jo hands you the jar and you pull out one of the slips.

“Seriously? This is too easy.” You mutter. “Name three things on your bucket list.”

“Seriously? This is too easy.” Kai says. There was no way in hell he had just heard you. It just proved how similar the two of you were. “Name three things on your bucket list.”

“One, to take my gal pals on a trip across America.” He nudges to you and jo.

“What makes you think I would want to be stuck in a car with you twenty four seven while you do nothing but eat pork rinds?” You ask, punching him playfully.

“Because you’d be lost without me.”

“True.” You smile.

“Two, I want a lifetime supplies of pork rinds. And ice cream for y/n because that’s one of the only things that can make her smile.”

You make the okay sign with your fingers, making jo smile at the two of you.

“And last but not least, i’d tell my crush how I felt about her. Because she’s absolutely perfect. And I think she might like me back.”

Wow. Kai has a crush too. You didn’t know how to react. You wanted him to be happy because he was your best friend, but you wanted to be more than that. Your feelings would ruin what the two of you currently had. It’s not like it mattered now anyways. Whoever the girl was; was very lucky to have Kai in love with her. You just couldn’t imagine kai being with someone else. You wanted him to be yours but now what?

You don’t even smile at Kai this time, which only makes him look at you, weirdly.

“Hey, y/n?” He asks, putting his hand on your thigh. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah,” you brush him off. “I just need some air.”

You walk out without saying anything else, both of them following you. “You don’t have to come with me.” You say. You just needed to be alone, even if it was only for a second.

“Are you sure?” Kai asks. He looked genuinely concerned. This never happened before.

You nod you head yes as kai stays upstairs, watching you leave. Jo follows you and you don’t mind too much. She could keep secrets.

Jo opens the door for you as you take a seat on the deck’s swing. She sits so close to you, not letting any space pass between the two of you.

“Now. Tell me what that was all about. I know you better than anyone, even more than malachai sometimes.” She says. But you didn’t want to talk. Not yet at least.

“I know you’re upset by what he said.”

“Why would i be upset about him having a crush?” You ask.

“Because I didn’t even say what he said. You just told me.” She smiles, shyly.

“You like him.” Jo says, her hand on your shoulder.

“No. I don’t, jo. I’m just-” you brush her off, just like you did with kai. “I’ve got to go.”

You dart off the front porch, leaving jo calling after you. When you don’t reply she starts chasing after you.

“Y/n! Stop!” She calls, grabbing your arm. “Talk to me.”

“I’ll see you at school, josette.”

Jo was furious. Not that you there were having so much fun and you decided to leave, but because you wouldn’t talk to her. You were all best friends and she was hurt. And because you used her full name, which was only ever used when Joshua was mad or when you and kai were joking.

But this time it wasn’t a joke.

“See you at school.” Jo mutters under her breath. “Be safe, y/n.”

///

“Did y/n just leave?” Kai asks. He was so loud he was sure that the whole house would beat him.

Jo doesn’t answer, she just nods yes.

Jo leaves kai without no other explanation, and goes to her room. Kai goes off to his, and neither one of them says another word all night, until it’s time to go to bed.

Kai walks on in to find jo as usual, reading a book her father had given her. He sits down on the bed, not saying a word. He didn’t need to though, because his face said enough. He was absolutely heart broken.

He felt as if everything was his fault. That he shouldn’t have said he liked you. He knew he made you uncomfortable and all he wanted was to go back in time to keep his mouth shut.

“Malachai?” Jo whispers. “What’s wrong?”

Kai sits down next to jo as she puts the book down. It was rare that Kai ever went into jos room, let alone sit down and have a talk with her.

“Kai? What’s wrong?” She asks again.

“I…” Kai pauses. “I don’t know.”

Jo never knew someone could cry so much. Kai was full on sobbing within seconds. She wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly.

“I messed up,” he cries.

Joshua could hear kai crying from all the way downstairs. The whole house could hear him. Their father peeps his head through the door, eyeing jo comforting kai. Jo nudges her head towards the wall, making her father leave. She didn’t want anyone making things worst for him.

“Shhh, it’s okay.” Jo assures him.

“No it’s not.” Kai snaps, pulling back. “She’s my best friend and I just ruined everything!” He grabs jo’s wrists, making her wince.

“Malachai, stop it! You’re hurting me!” Jo hisses.

“Don’t you understand? I’m hurt too! And there’s nothing I can do to fix it!”

A red glow appears from under Kai’s hands. He felt jos magic fly through him, making him smile. It felt so good to have magic; he felt like he could do anything.

“Malachai!” Jo yells. “Stop it!” Jo could already feel herself getting weaker. This wasn’t like kai. He never acted out like this. Well at least he hadn’t in awhile.

Last time he acted out like this, was (twelve) years ago, when he was only a toddler. He started discovering new things about himself, like the fact that he was a siphon. He only ever took jo’s magic once, and that was then. Kai had made her so weak that Joshua had no other option but to punish him. But years Later he had met you, and you were the only one who could keep him acting sevil.

“Malachai Parker!” Joshua snaps, running in and pulling his son away. “What do you think you’re doing?”

Before Kai can come up with an answer that actually makes sense, Joshua speaks again.

“Where’s y/n? You didn’t hurt her too, did you?”

Silence. “She hurt me, father.” Kai coos. “She hurt me!”

Kai wakes up, drenched in sweat. He was still plopped down on Jo’s bed, Jo asleep right next to him. It was still dark out. It was just a dream. A nightmare.

“Jo?” Kai asks, nudging his sister. “Are you awake?”

“No.” Jo replies, simply.

“Sorry.” Kai apologizes. He couldn’t get over how badly he had hurt you. Now he felt that he had hurt jo too, just because he had woken her up.

“Don’t apologize, silly.” Jo scoffs. “I’m always here for you. Just talk to me.”

Kai couldn’t even get himself to look at his own sister. It was his fault that he lost you which only made jo loose her friend too. Sure it was one day. Just one time but still; kai had no idea if things would ever be the same again.

“Okay.” Jo whispers. “You don’t have to talk. I know what’s wrong.” She assures him. “I know you like y/n.”

“How.” Was all kai could get out. He wasn’t even questioning her; was it that obvious that he liked you?

“How didn’t i know?” Jo smiles. “You love her. It’s okay, Malachai.”

“I…” Kai pauses. “I just thought that she liked me back. But if she did she would have told me. She wouldn’t have just run off like that.”

“I hate to agree with you kai, but-” Jo stops for a moment, wondering if she should go any further. “I don’t think she would ever like you back.”

Kai sighs. Jo could be harsh but at least now the both of them were on the same page.

“Give her time, Malachai. She might come around. Don’t go pressuring her to talk.”

“I messed up.” Kai cries again. It had only been a few hours without you but kai was truly heartbroken.

Jo did everything she could to comfort him, but she knew it wasn’t enough. Jo ended up passing out with sleep on her bed again, not able to stay awake for a second longer. The two of them laid there for the rest of the night, each of them drowned in their own thoughts about everything that had happened that afternoon.

Kai nods his head as he dozes off again, this time not having a single thought about how you felt.

///

“Kai? Aren’t you going to eat?” Joshua asks at the table. “You’ve barely touched your breakfast.” He points out.

All of Kai’s siblings were scarfing down bacon and eggs and toast, but for once kai felt so empty. He had knots in his stomach that he couldn’t get rid of. All he felt like was sobbing twenty four seven.

“I’m not hungry.” He mutters. “I’ll see you later.” Kai grabs his book bag and leaves, jo quickly excusing herself from the table and following him out the door.

“Kai, wait up,” jo calls out as she jogs up to him. “Maybe you should stay home today. I can talk to y/n if you like.”

Kai just shrugs. “That’s fine josette. I’m just gonna lay low I guess.” Kai mutters. Jo knew he didn’t want her making things worst. But she knew if she didn’t talk to you than things would get way worse than they already were.

///

That afternoon at school just as you had finished your bio test, the teacher called you up. You hoped that you hadn’t done anything wrong, or gotten blamed for something you didn’t take part in. This tended to happen a lot when kai was around because kai being himself was always playing pranks and doing things everyone knew he shouldn’t be doing.

“Is everything okay, miss?” You ask, softly. It was very rarely that you ever got called up, so you were curious as to what she wanted to tell you.

“Your friend, Malachai. How is he?” She asks.

You hadn’t even thought about kai since you left him yesterday. You didn’t want to think about him or what he was thinking. You were upset and filled with mixed emotions, just wanting some time to think.

“How is he?” You ask, unsure of what she meant.

“He didn’t complete the test. He wrote his name and then proceeded to stare out the window for the remainder or the class. Has something come over him?”

Of course this was all your fault. Kai would never do something so foolish and now you were getting the blame. Not from your teacher but you knew what kai was like. He’d tell his family and then you’d be the one to get in trouble.

“I think he’s caught a cold, actually.” You lie. “I have to get going.”

You find jo waiting for you outside of the classroom. You decided to walk home with just jo today instead of Kai, just for a change. You had spent the whole day with jo including lunch, sitting in silence. Things weren’t the same without kai but you just needed time. You hadn’t seen kai at all and hoped you didn’t for the rest of the day even though you were all heading back to his house. You didn’t know where kai had run off to at lunch, but part of you didn’t care.

“Hey!” Jo greets. “What did your teacher want?”

You sigh and jo immediately rolls her eyes, knowing it was something stupid.

“Kai didn’t finish his test. He wrote his name and nothing else. The best part? He spent the whole freaking class looking out the window.”

Jo gasps. It was so unlike her brother to go such a thing. He was so much smarter than anyone ever let on. Now he was just giving up. It wasn’t fair to either one of you.

“Oh malachai.” Jo sighs. “I’ll make sure to explain to my dad before kai does.” Jo winks. “Don’t worry about it.”

“Thanks.”

Walking home with jo was different than walking home with kai. While the three of you were all best friends, you didn’t feel that spark like you did with kai. Silence stretched between you and jo for most of the walk home. You wanted to talk about your day, but things didn’t seem right. It’s not that you didn’t like jo, but things weren’t the same without kai around.

You headed upstairs and almost went into Kai’s room instead of jo’s. You walked in and immediately felt awkward, not knowing where to sit down or stand.

“Wow. I don’t even remember the last time I was in here.” You say as you study Jo’s room. Kai’s room was always the hang out as he liked to call it. It was where you shared all your best memories of one another and laughed until your faces hurt. But Jo’s room on the other hand was nothing special.

You and jo did your homework together and asked each other what you got for each question, but besides that there was nothing. If Kai had been here, the two of you would have been laughing and shoving your faces with junk food while you wanted you time talking about things that didn’t matter and making jokes.

“Kai! Jo! Dinner’s ready!” Mr. Parker calls out.

“One second!” Kai calls back. You tensed up at the sound of his voice, feeling so bad to be sneaking behind his back. He had no idea you were over, and it hurt to have to leave without saying goodbye to him. The both of you talked all day, everyday. This was the first day that you’ve never said anything to him. You felt so bad.

Buzz buzz.

Jo glances at you as you stare down at your jean pocket. Your pager buzzed and sure enough it was kai.

“Shit.” You mutter as the door flies open.

“Jo?” Kai asks. You held your breath behind the door, not wanting to be seen. But you could still see Kai perfectly through the small crack. It felt as if it had been years since you had last seen him even though it was barely a full twenty four hours.

“Yes?” Jo replies.

You could tell kai was looking around the room for an explanation. Jo remained silent. The moment seemed to drag on but you knew it was just because you felt so guilty to be going behind Kai’s back.

“I thought I heard y/n’s pager buzz. I guess I’m hearing things.” He chuckles. “Come on. Dads waiting.” And with that he slips back and down the stairs, Jo following him.

You manage to sneak out behind jo as she turns to the kitchen. You whisper a quick goodbye and head out the back door before anyone could notice. You look in the kitchen window, careful that no one noticed you. Jo had already begun to explain the whole test situation to her father as kai looked absolutely miserable.

Later that night you laid down on your bed, glaring at your pager. Kai buzzed in every hour and called your house, but you didn’t answer him. You were still so confused. You didn’t know if you were overreacting, wrong for pushing him away, confused about how you felt for him…the list went on and on and on. There were so many thoughts buzzing in your head, you didn’t know how to deal with them. You didn’t know who to talk to about what you were going through. It’s not like you could talk to kai or jo. There was no one and you were absolutely stuck for the first time in forever.

Little did you know that today was the last time you would ever see kai and go over to his home. His family that once became yours fell away. Things were never going to be the same afterwards.

Part 3: Imagine staying up past midnight with Chris.

Here’s part 1 and part 2 if you want to jump over and read those.

Dinner didn’t start at 8PM like you had planned thanks to the little detour to your bedroom. By the time the two of you managed to break away from each other and have dinner, it was 1:04AM; not that either of you were complaining.

Both of you were now in your kitchen devouring the last course of the degustation menu; dessert, which was your favorite. You were a little surprised that Chris was having dessert because you’d seen a few interviews where he’d stated that he wasn’t much of a dessert person, which was a bummer for you because your specialty was desserts. He said he’d rather munch on candy than cookies and cakes, but from the looks of things you’d changed his mind.

You watched him eat mouthful after mouthful of your tiramisu and smiled. You didn’t know if you were smiling because you were proud of converting him into a dessert person, or if you were just happy with the fact that- you were dating Chris Evans. You still couldn’t believe it was actually happening and you were a little afraid you’d suddenly wake up and realized it was just an incredibly vivid dream.

“Why are you staring at me?” Chris raised an eyebrow at you, his words muffled by the cake he had in his mouth. You chuckled softly and shook your head, lowering your gaze. “Did you want me to feed you, baby?” He scooped some up with his spoon and held it in front of your face. “Here.”

“I’m good,” you chuckled and pushed his hand away.

“C'mon,” he cooed and pushed the spoon forward. “It’s good.”

“I know, I made it,” you chuckled and pushed his hand away again. “I’m just really full.”

“One bite won’t kill you.”

“Stop!” You laughed and shied away from him as he tried to force another mouthful of tiramisu into your mouth. “I’ve already had enough to eat, Chris. If I eat anymore I’m going to puke in your face and that will not be pleasant.”

“No it will not,” he chuckled and lowered his spoon back onto his plate. “Can I just say,” he leaned forward and rested his elbows on the table and his chin in his palm. “You look very, very cute in my shirt.” He smiled when you did.

“Does that mean I get to keep it?” You teased with a cheeky smile.

“And what am I meant to wear?” He chuckled, gesturing to his bare chest. “This is all fine and good while we’re in your house but the second I walk out, I’m going to need something otherwise I’m going to make headlines.” You both laughed at that. “I can see it now,” he chuckled, “right across New York Times. Captain America leaves his girlfriend’s house shirtless, where’s his shield when he needs it?” He joked then threw his head back, laughing harder than before.

You weren’t laughing because you were still trying to process what you’d just heard. You felt your lips part slightly, stunned that he just called you his girlfriend. Of course you’d be glad to be his girlfriend, it was just something the two of you hadn’t discussed. It wasn’t until he stopped laughing and saw your face that he realized what he had just said. You watched his eyes widened as he choked on the air in his lungs.

“Uh- I didn’t- I uh- You see-” He rambled, using his hands a little too much which meant that he was beyond nervous; you bit back your smile. “I um- it slipped out um- We haven’t talked about it so- ignore me, I- I didn’t-” he cut himself off and spooned more tiramisu into his mouth. “Mmmmm,” he hummed then dramatically spoke with his mouth full, “dishisdemicious.”

“Chris,” you chuckled softly and reached over and placed your hand over his. “You can breathe because I’m not the kind of girl who’s going to freak out because you just called me your girlfriend.” He swallowed his cake and pressed his lips together. “Do you want to have the talk so we’re both clear about where we stand, and so you don’t do whatever you just did?” You teased him and he chuckled. “‘Cause I’m ready whenever you are.”

“Well then- do we really have to have the talk when it’s clear we both want this?” He asked rhetorically and you raised an eyebrow with a small smirk on your lips. “I mean- I just unconsciously called you my girlfriend after a week and you didn’t freak out,” he chuckled then jokingly added, “if that’s not soul mate level, I don’t know what is.”

“Oh my God,” you laughed.

“Yeah, I said it.” He purposely puffed out his chest and brought a proud smile onto his face to comically relieve the situation. You shook your head, trying hard to stop laughing. “I’m an eccentric, okay?” He pouted and turned his hand, palm into yours. “Ignoring all the weird stuff I’ve said about the matter,” his index finger drawing small circles on your palm, “will you please officially hold the title of being my girlfriend?”

“Mm…” You pretended to think about it even though you were already going to say yes. “I mean-” you scrunched your nose, making a face. “That sounds like a lot of commitment and- I don’t think I have-” You were cut off when he jumped up from his stool and grabbed you, tickling your sides. “Chris!” You shrieked with laughter, squirming away from his touch.

“Say yes!”

“This is blackmail-” You laughed as he continued tickling you, you were running out of space to move before you fell off your stool. “I’m going to fa- Chris!” He ceased tickling you and wrapped his arms around your waist before you fell, lifting you to your feet.

“Say yes.” He whispered softly, pressing his forehead to yours.

“Of course I’m going to say yes, you doofus.” You smiled and wrapped your arms around his neck. “I don’t think I’ve ever been happier with a guy than when I’m with you,” you admitted then blushed when he kissed you tenderly. “We still have to talk about some things though,” you said when you broke the kiss.

“Like who’s the top?” He teased.

“No,” you chuckled. “Like how we’re going to make this relationship work when we both know we’re not going to compromise on geographical locations.” He pressed his lips together, wincing. “And let’s not even mention our crazy work schedules.”

“Will you stop worrying?” He chuckled. “We’re going to make this work because I’m in New York like- more than you’d think.” It was said unconvincingly but you smiled anyway. “I visit Seb a lot, there’s uh- photo shoots and press tours and interviews that I have to come out for, plus I’m fond of a restaurant called Clover.” He wiggled his eyebrows at you, smiling goofily. “The food is exquisite there, and the head chef’s an absolute doll.”

“So I’ve heard,” you agreed, smiling.

“We’re going to make this work, Y/N,” he promised. “Do you want to know whyyyy?” He asked in a sing song voice and you smiled, shaking your head 'no’. “Because I couldn’t possibly leave my best girl behind,” he told you with a smile; his tone so genuine that it made your heart flutter.

“In that case, Cap,” you smiled back. “I’m with you till the end of the line.”
