because i can never be bothered to fill in all the holes

“I’m a single father. I’ve had my son since he was two. His mother and I used to consume a lot of drugs, but I did a full stop when he was born. He saved my life in a lot of ways. But his mother never got her life together. She’ll show up sporadically but then disappear for months at a time. I try to fill in the holes with as much love as possible, but I know it bothers him. He’s just not at an age where he can fully express his feelings. I try to protect him from all the volatility of my own life. I broke up with my girlfriend yesterday. And I’m sitting here wondering how I’m going to explain it to him. I actually waited a long time before introducing them because I didn’t want her to be another absence in his life. But now it didn’t work out. And I’ve got to figure out how to break that down for him.”

anonymous asked:

If one hypothetically wanted to read your Eldritch Abomination Garfield fic, how would one go about finding it as directly searching for 'garfield' hypothetically does not include the fic?

“They bought it?” Lyman asked as Jon hung up the phone.

“I got the contract,” Jon confirmed, dazed. “I’m — I’m syndicated.”

“You did it, man!” Lyman said, clapping him on the back. Odie barked.

“They’re already thinking about merchandising deals,” Jon continued, staring into space.

“I told you things were going to turn around for you,” Lyman said with a nod. Odie continued barking, making it clear that he was not just trying to be supportive. “Hey, look, I’ve gotta take the dog for a walk. If the alarm goes off while I’m gone, can you take dinner out of the oven?”

“Yeah,” Jon said, with no real conception of what he was agreeing to. He still had not yet finished processing that phone call, the idea that he was going to be paid, consistently, that he was a working cartoonist, that his comics would be in papers. Merchandising deals. Merchandising.

It was not until he heard the door that Jon realized he was alone in the apartment.

Just him, and Garfield.

From the corner, it growled.

Jon’s heart spasmed; he hadn’t realized it was in the same room. “H—hey,” he said. It would have been a dumb thing to say if it was a normal cat. It was a dumber thing to say under the circumstances. Its eyes glowed red in the shadows. “How are you?” he asked, then winced as the cat growled again. “Heard the good news?” he asked weakly.

MY END OF THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN FULFILLED

It rumbled through his brain like an earthquake, words without words. He covered his ears even though it wouldn’t help. “Yeah, thanks for—”

I WILL FEED

Jon’s heart spasmed again, overwhelmed with the sense of a hunger not his own. “Right, about that—”

YOU WILL FEED ME it said, words written in blood, thick and hot.

“—yes, I got that, I’m just not really sure what I’m supposed to—”

MEAT and the word throbbed, tore.

“Would chicken be okay?”

UNACCEPTABLE it said in broken bone and jellied marrow.

“I don’t want to stereotype you by assuming you want to eat my roommate—”

YES GIVE ME HIS HEART it said, pulsing, torn flesh.

“—but you can’t eat Lyman.”

I͇̤͜ ̭̩W̨͕̪̠͙I̧̫͍͕̤̥̥̥L̜̜̭͔̪͢L̡͉͍͍͓̣ ͇F̤̜E̤̱̼̩͙̺͢E̥̳̫D̯͚̰ͅ

The glowing eyes moved from the shadows, grew larger, taller. Hellfire, if fire could cast dark instead of light, orange and red, fire and blood. The indistinct shape that might have been a cat became an indistinct shape that might have been a man, large, always large. Jon shrank back as it stretched to fill the room, tried not to look directly at it. Hot breath and sharp teeth against his skin, even though it couldn’t have been, because he was still wearing his jacket.

There was a chiming sound.

WHAT WAS THAT

“Uh.” Jon swallowed, hard. “Dinner?”

FOOD

“Yes,” Jon said, “but I don’t know if you can eat people food…”

Garfield sat in the middle of the floor, wide as it was tall. Its gaze was baleful.

“Right. You can eat whatever you want.” Slowly Jon inched around the cat to head toward the kitchen. “I don’t really know what it is, though. It might be… vegan.”

Garfield hissed, the sound of pain, and Jon fled toward the oven.

I SMELL MEAT

Jon stopped himself from telling the cat get off the counter. “I think it’s a casserole,” he said, removing the dish to set it on the stove. He gingerly removed the lid, his hands safely wrapped in oven mitts. “Oh. It’s lasagna.”

GIVE IT TO ME

“It has to cool,” Jon said. Garfield hissed again, and the sound turned Jon’s blood to fiberglass. He backed away, and the cat leapt bodily and entirely into the baked pasta. It did not seem bothered by the fact that the pasta sauce was still bubbling, and Jon tried not to look at the void of its mouth. A black hole rimmed with fangs, an absence of all light, drawing in all that it touched to disappear within.

WHAT IS THIS it asked, and a hellfire paw batted at a stretchy piece of mozzarella.

“… cheese?”

The cat-shaped thing nodded, still sitting in the dish of lasagna.

WE DO NOT HAVE THIS

“You don’t have cheese in hell?”

It nodded again.

“I guess that’s what makes it hell.” If Garfield appreciated this observation, it did not show it. It cracked open its maw again, more lasagna disappearing, and Jon looked away. “That lasagna was supposed to feed us for a week,” he sighed. “How much longer do I need to do this?” he asked.

UNTIL YOU ARE SATISFIED

“Until I’m satisfied?”

YOU MUST FEED ME TO SATISFY YOUR HUNGER

Realization dawned. “Wait, but — I thought this was a one-time thing.”

IT WAS NOT

“If you leave, I get fired?”

PERHAPS

“So I might still be able to make it on my own.”

DO YOU BELIEVE YOUR SKILL IS ENOUGH TO BRING YOU ALL THAT YOU DESIRE

Jon thought of the portfolio sitting in his room, and sagged. “… no.”

It grew, limbs stretching, claws turning to fingers and then claws again. It sat on the counter like a solid mirage, licking red from its hands.

YOU WILL HAVE RICHES BEYOND YOUR WILDEST DREAMS it said in truffle oil and fur and gold. SO LONG AS I AM FED YOU WILL NEVER KNOW HUNGER

Syndication and merchandising deals and maybe someday a cartoon on television. His signature in every newspaper in every house in the country. In the world, even. He raked his fingers through his curls and tried not to look at its claws.

“I guess I’m stuck with you, then,” Jon said.

It didn’t slide off the counter the way a man would, shifted off like drifting smoke or licking flames, stood and was no shorter. Tall and broad and solid, a weight to its presence as it moved closer. Jon shrank back again as it loomed, and this show of submission seemed to please it. Hot breath and sharp teeth against his skin again, and he shivered.

YES YOU ARE

Another Rant

No, this one is not BTS related, but I can’t help myself from making this one.

I think I’m PMSing and about to start my period and that’s why I’ve been so annoyed and making rants lately.

Now, I know things can’t be 100% accurate, and I’m not directing this towards any one specific person except Stephanie Meyer since this pet peeve started with Twilight

If you are going to write about a certain topic, or include something in your writing, please do at least a minimal amount of research.

The amount of people who will write about something they know nothing about, and refuse to google it saddens me.

This goes for multiple topics.

Children/Pregnancy

As a child development major, this irks me more than it does most people, and as I said, I know things can’t be 100% accurate, and that since not everyone studies child development, there are things they can’t know, but there are somethings that’s just common sense.

Like it’s common sense that a 4 year old will not still be teething.

It’s common sense that a 2 month old will not be sitting up on their own.

It’s common sense that a 1 and a half year old will not be speaking in full grammatically correct sentences.

Onto pregnancy, why does everyone seem to think that you find out the sex of the baby on the first doctor’s appointment? Like, no. The genitalia begin to form at 6 weeks and aren’t finished until 14 weeks. The majority of people have their first appointment during that time frame, meaning it’s impossible to know anyway.

Also, morning sickness does not only happen in the morning, it’s just more common. The amount of times I’ve seen people writing fics about pregnancy, only for something to be wrong with the girl, and when someone questions her she says it’s just morning sickness, “but it’s not the morning”, please stop that.

Also, people will write about a bump at 2 months. If it’s the first pregnancy, like how it is in most fics, a bump usually won’t form until the 2nd trimester, which is 4 or 5 months. Maybe 3 months in some women, but not 2 months.

Smut

Okay, say it with me: the butt hole is not a vagina

The amount of gay smut where they talk about how “wet” the hole is getting when there is no lube or saliva involved, or the amount that says it’s painless without any lubrication. I’m a heterosexual female and even I know that’s not how it works.

Second, girls do not orgasm the same way guys do

A female orgasm is an overwhelming feeling of pleasure followed by sensitivity. There is no “flow of juices” and certainly no “white substance dripping down her thighs”. When “juices” do come out of her, that is called squirting, and only happens very rarely, some women never being able to at all. And after a women squirts, she can be very dehydrated and exhausted, and definitely not ready to go a second round, like described in quite a few fics. There are some women who can squirt quite often, however, they are in the vast minority, and therefore it should not be included in every. single. fanfic. Rarely do I see a fic that accurately describes a female orgasm.

Mental Health

This one really hits home to me, and quite a few others, as I suffer from mental illness, and have for years.

I would really appreciate if the people who don’t have a mental illness, but choose to write about it would do adequate research about the mental illness they have chosen.

I could go on about all the mistakes people have made about many mental illnesses, but I’ll focus on anxiety right now as that’s what I have and is the most common mental illness since it comes in many varieties.

The one that I notice the most is the misrepresentation of Social Anxiety.

In most of the fics I have read that have incorporated Social Anxiety, they always describe it as feeling uncomfortable around strangers, but it is way more than that.

Social Anxiety is:

constantly feeling like everyone in the room is watching you and scrutinizing your every movement

not being able to eat at someone’s house or at a party because your stomach hurts so much that the thought of food makes you want to throw up

wanting to cry when you’re forced to sit close to people you don’t know

being almost 20 years old and not being able to order for yourself at a restaurant

thinking that sitting alone in the car is a better option than having to go inside a place you’ve never been

It is so much more than being uncomfortable around people you don’t know. The feeling I get can’t even be described using the word “uncomfortable”. If you are not actually having anxiety over the situation, it is not anxiety.

Another thing that people don’t research with this is how you get diagnosed. I always see it described as they went to their normal doctor the second they started to have issues, told them they had it, and they automatically get a prescription for medication, and they’re done in 10 minutes. That is not how it happens.

I had been living with anxiety for at least 5 years before ever even going to be formally diagnosed. I didn’t bother with telling my mom I thought I needed more help than just her, who also has anxiety, until after I was tempted to remove the blades from my razor and slit my wrist to where they couldn’t sew it back up.

I had to have suicidal thoughts before realizing “woah I need help”. After that, my mom had to make an appointment at a psychological assessment center, not my regular doctor. That first appointment, it was me, my mom, and a therapist. There was no official diagnosis of that. All it was was the three of us talking, with me and my mom telling her about the struggles I had been having, how long it had been happening, how it gradually got worse, and so on. Then she gave my mom a questionnaire to fill out about what she has observed about me, and gave me one to give to one of my teachers at school to fill out.

A week later, I went back and spent two hours being tested in different ways. They varied from “what do you see when you look at this picture” to testing my memory skills. Two hours. And that wasn’t even the day I was diagnosed.

My mom and I went back a week after that to meet with the therapist, and that’s where she gave me the official diagnosis, the degree it was to, and then discussed treatment options. Then she had to send my regular doctor the results so that she could write a prescription.

It was two more weeks before my doctor got around to it and I was able to start on medication.

It is way more than “oh I’ve been feeling this way”, “okay, here’s some pills to pop”.

If you’re going to write about a mental illness without having it, then at least have the courtesy to research it.

Then comes to the idea that it can be cured and one day they won’t have it anymore. I don’t know how many fics I’ve read where it ends with a completely happy ending in the main character no longer has the mental illness.

That is complete and utter bullshit. Mental illnesses are caused by chemical imbalances in the brain, and those can’t be fixed easily. There is no “cure”, you just get to the point where you can handle it better. There are people with depression who can go years without and episode, then wake up one day with no motivation to even roll over in bed. My mom has some of the worst social anxiety, yet she’s a hair stylist, meaning she has to constantly be around and talk to people she doesn’t know. She has overcome her illness enough that it doesn’t get in the way of her job, but she’s still on medication and she almost had a panic attack when she had to walk me up on stage for the Senior Walk at my final orchestra concert.

Mental illnesses do not have a cure. You just get better at being able to live without them getting in your way.

There are a few authors and works out there that do a great job of trying to be accurate in the topics they write about, but they are sadly outnumbered by the people who just do not care.

So please, if you read this and want to write a fanfic or regular fic about a topic you’re not to sure about, please do at least a minimal amount of research before rather than bullshitting it like Stephanie Meyer did when she decided to write about vampires.

2tired2care  asked:

Pst hi I LOVE YOUR FICS you have no idea how much they give me life <3 <3 I came across this really cute (and frankly heartbreaking) AU: "[burgler gently wakes me] you live like this?" (stolen from a post I saw on fb) and I kinda just need Stiles to do everything he can to make Derek's life better? THANK YOU SO MUCH :D

It IS frankly heartbreaking… which means I’m totally into it.

(now also on AO3!)

***

Derek definitely went to sleep alone. He always does, these days. It doesn’t explain why he drifts awake in the middle of the night to the feeling of someone lightly poking his shoulder.

It’s probably not a good sign that when he opens his eyes and sees a gangly teenage boy in a red hoodie and grubby-looking black fingerless gloves standing over him, he doesn’t startle. His claws don’t come out; his eyes don’t flash. He just feels… resigned.

“You live like this?” the guy says, soft. Almost pitying. “I mean. You actually live here?”

That seems too obvious, not to mention too insulting, to merit a response. “What are you doing here?” Derek asks instead. His voice comes out low and rough. This is the first time in days he’s had any reason to say anything. “This is private property.”

The guy shifts on his feet and sticks his hands under his armpits uncomfortably. “Okay, straight to the awkward questions. I like that.”

anonymous asked:

1) welcome back! You were missed! 2) Do you think certain MBTI types are prone to certain problematic behaviors and 3) if so which ones really bother you or you dislike?

Thanks. Yes, certain MBTI types show trends when it comes to problematic behaviors. My top one for each cognitive function:

High Te (ENTJ, ESTJ, INTJ, ISTJ): The Sledgehammer

Summary: Uses a one-size-fits-all solution for different sized problems.

Example:

  • Using brute force to power through situations that might require more patience, finesse, and reflection.
  • “This worked great for me, you’re dumb not to do the same.”
  • “Don’t pursue a career in art, you’re going to be poor. Go into business, law, or medicine.”

Impact: The problem with being a hammer is that you’ll start to see everything and everyone as a nail. It also makes people feel like their opinions and points of view are less valuable than yours. It also falsely presumes that the choice which yields the best output objectively (example: the job that yields the most money) is the best. It negates the reality that people have different indicators for success because there isn’t only one correct answer to every question.

Solution: Incorporate subjective variables into your objective logical frameworks.

High Ti (INTP, ISTP, ENTP, ESTP): The Hamster Wheel

Summary: Invalidates everything in a perpetual logic loop.

Example:

  • “Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?” x1,000,000

Impact: You succeed at winning debates but fail at solving problems. Whether or not you can rationalize the validity of money doesn’t take away from the fact you still have bills to pay at the end of the day. Whether or not you can rationalize the value of grades and traditional education doesn’t take away from the fact you’ll be denied entry into many careers without the right qualifications. Whether or not you can rationalize that having children is a logical idea or not doesn’t take away from the fact that many people aspire to be parents. The validity of other people’s goals, dreams, concerns, and issues are not contingent on whether or not they can explain them to your satisfaction.

Solution: Create solutions, answers, and actions for every hole you poke in other people’s logic– not more problems.

High Fe (ENFJ, ESFJ, INFJ, ISFJ): The Guilt Trip

Summary: Guilt trip. verb. to make (someone) feel guilty, especially in order to induce them to do something.

Example: Self-explanatory.

Impact: This is manipulation. You’ll get on people’s nerves and make them miserable because you’ve forced them into situations they didn’t willingly want to enter or participate in of their own accord. Secondly, you haven’t provided solid concrete reasons and logic for why someone should do something, it’s an argument made without taking into consideration the other person’s comfort or needs.

Solution: Explain clearly and transparently why you want someone to do something (yes, it’s really that simple).

High Fi (INFP, ISFP, ESFP, ISFP): The Cloudy Mirror

Summary: Judges people for things they don’t want to be judged for.

Example:

  • “I wish society wouldn’t judge me for not wanting to have children and not wanting to be a housewife.” [Proceeds to judge people who want to have children and want to be a housewife]
  • “Not everyone wants to be rich in life, we all have different definitions of success that should be respected.” [Doesn’t respect people who want to be rich in life, automatically think these people are greedy sell-outs]

Impact: This is hypocrisy. It also comes off as illogical and presumptuous when people’s intents and motivations are automatically filled in by you. Some people buy sports cars because they actually have a passion for driving– they’re not necessarily materialistic. Some people seek high-paying careers at the expense of personal passions because they have obligations and goals they’d like to reach– they’re not necessarily greedy. Some people like traditional gender roles in relationships because that’s their personal choice– they’re not necessarily oppressed and/or close-minded.

Solution: Accept that “conformity” in behavior, goals, aspirations, appearance, etc. doesn’t equate to misery and/or lack of authenticity.

High Ne (ENTP, ENFP, INTP, INFP): The Whiplash*

Summary: Chronic quitting and the inability to commit due to impatience and lack of discipline.

  • *Whiplash: noun. a neck injury due to forceful, rapid back-and-forth movement of the neck, like the cracking of a whip.

Example:

  • “I’m going to do A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J … Z!” [Does none of it]
  • “Let’s do this. Let’s do that. Let’s go back to doing this. Let’s go back to doing that.”
  • “I want to have six-pack abs! I’m going to be SHREDDED.” [Exercises and eats well for one day then goes back to bad habits the next day]

Impact: People stop taking you seriously because you can’t execute on your promises, it dilutes the weight of your words and it corrodes respect (ex: “Yeah, uh-huh, sure you will, buddy.”). No one is immediately an expert at something the first try– seeds take time to grow and you’re no exception to this rule. Developing expertise and skills require time, commitment, and consistency. Results don’t happen overnight.

Solution: Underpromise and overdeliver– don’t overpromise and underdeliver.

High Ni (INTJ, INFJ, ENTJ, ENFJ): The Nutcracker

Summary: Hits people below the belt using knowledge those people shared against them.

Example:

  • Someone is insecure about their weight, you insult their weight.
  • Someone is insecure about their skin color, you make a comment about their skin color.
  • Someone tells you a secret, you expose it.

Impact: People won’t confide in you for fear you’ll use what they told you against them. This creates barriers to having close and meaningful friendships because people will view and treat you like a ticking time bomb they can’t let their guard down around. Understand that certain topics and comebacks are off-limits no matter how you feel about the person at the moment; certain words and actions have a lasting impact on your relationships. Memories fade but scars last.

Solution: The nuclear option should be your last resort, never your first.

High Se (ESTP, ESFP, ISTP, ISFP): The Blindfire*

Summary: Leaps before they look.

  • *Blindfire: noun. The term referring to the act of operating a firearm without looking at what one is shooting at.

Example:

Impact: Your lack of foresight and lack of planning will set you back even further from your goals because immediate rewards and instant gratification often only provide short-term benefits that rarely last. There’s a proverb that’s applicable here: “measure twice, cut once” which means that investing time and energy up front to do it correctly the first time will save a ton of time, money, energy, and grief later down the line.

Solution: Stop, drop, and roll think if the path you’re on actually leads to where you want to go.

High Si (ISTJ, ISFJ, ESTJ, ESFJ): The Helicopter

Summary: Micromanaging, nitpicking people to death.

Example:

  • “Write the email but let me review and edit before you send it.”
  • “What are you doing right now? Where are you going? When are you coming back?”
  • “I noticed when you loaded the dishwasher you put the spoons and forks in before the pots and pans, you should put the pots and pans in before the spoons and forks.”

Impact: Half the internet is writing posts complaining about you, the other half is writing posts complaining about having to read all the posts complaining about you. Micromanagement saps people of confidence and motivation, it also increases the chance that the bad thing you’re trying to prevent will actually happen. Additionally, you’ll feel paranoid and anxious that something will go disastrously wrong if you’re gone which results in burnout because you’ll always need to be there to keep an eye on things. This is counterproductive for everyone involved.

Solution: Choose your battles wisely– focus on the “what” (the goal) and not the “how” (the method).

Our Little Secret - Part Thirteen

Summary: Your and Dean’s fight hits you hard, you don’t know how to fix it, you don’t know how to talk it out and now you have to work a case that hits a little too close to home.

The tears stream down your face, hot and messy, you don’t bother to brush them away. You don’t know where you were planning on going, your feet are stuck here in the dimly lit parking lot as your eyes search, brain on overdrive trying to think of something, anything to make this better.

A hand on your shoulder makes you fling around, scared, you hadn’t heard Sam walk up behind you, “Y/N?”

You don’t say anything, just wrap your arms around your friend and let him pull you against him as he tells you that everything is going to be alright.

His arms loosen and he pulls your face up, “Where are you going?”

“I-I don’t know,” you sob, the words tumbling out.

“Come on,” he wraps his arm around your shoulders, “nothing’s open now anyways.”

Working at The Continental isn’t at all what you thought it’d be.

SPOILER FREE FIC.

You smoothed out your shirt and looked in the mirror. It was your first day on the job. You were decked out head to toe in brand new clothes. All from a designer you’d never heard of. All custom made to fit you perfectly.  All completely free. On top of that, you’d be making a salary that, at entry level, was six figures. And all you had to do was deliver room service.

But there was a saying you’d heard since you were young: If it’s too good to be true, then it probably is.

You should have suspected something was off when you had to give a blood sample, a urine sample, a DNA swab, and answer a thirteen page questionnaire that included things like “list the full names of your parents, siblings, and grandparents” or “do you have any experience with sutures, cauterization, or CPR?”

And then the interview, itself, felt more like an interrogation. The whole thing gave you this weird feeling in your gut, but this was also the most exclusive hotel in New York City. Getting a room here wasn’t about whether or not you had the money, but whether or not you knew the right people, and even then, it was typically booked solid. You’d even heard a rumor that The Queen of England was denied a room once. Of course they’d be picky about their staff.

But after the lengthy interview process and dozen or so signatures on papers you probably should have read, you found out the truth about The Continental.

The manager’s name was Winston. He was nice enough, though he had a very “no nonsense” attitude about him. The more you found out about the place, though, the more you understood why. It was a safe haven for a secret society of people. Assassins. Hit men. Gang Lords. The underground elite of not only New York, but the entire world. The only currency accepted from customers were gold coins. One gold coin was the equivalent to one favor. It was a simple system, Winston explained, but complex to newcomers. You’d pick it up over time. All you needed to know was that if you got a coin, you kept a close eye on it.

Additionally, the hotel followed a strict set of rules, but the two that most concerned you were that staff was never to ask questions, and no business could ever be conducted on hotel grounds. The latter of the two should have made you feel safer, but instead, it just made you more nervous.

Upon the conclusion of your meeting with Winston, he presented you with a single gold coin. You looked at him curiously. He smiled, and said simply:

“A welcome gift.”

“Damon stop fucking calling…” You muttered to yourself as you heard the ringtone for your boyfriend go off for the tenth time that day. You let that call go to voicemail too, still unable to bring yourself to talk to him. After the phone stopped ringing, you just turned it off and tossed it in your bag.

You marched into the Salvatore boarding house, Damon slammed the door behind you. “You’re not going anywhere until we talk. That bullet wouldn’t have killed me, Y/n.” His voice was law, his tone dangerous.

You knew you shouldn’t poke the bear but he was making it difficult for you. Your pride was also an issue. “And it didn’t kill me either, Damon.” You tried to make your tone match his. You didn’t want a fight, especially since everyone made it home in mostly one piece. “I knew Matt wouldn’t shoot to kill me, and I knew you’d take care of me.” You grinned, trying to cozy up to your boyfriend. You just wanted to diffuse the situation, get him to calm down.

Damon wasn’t having it. He gripped your upper arms almost too tightly. “Don’t you get it?! This… self-sacrificing crap doesn’t work when you’re human and incredibly breakable!” He barely had a hold on his temper anymore as he shouted at you. You continued to stand your ground, even as he squeezed your arms a bit harder as if to prove a point.

“I’m not as delicate as you make me out to be, Damon.” Your expression hardened before you winced slightly at the pressure from where he held you.

His eyes tightened as he relaxed his grip on you. He’d seen your flinch. “I beg to differ. What if I hadn’t gotten to you in time? What if you had bled out and I couldn’t save you, huh? Where would you be?” He all-but shoved you away from him. You stiffened, eyes filling with tears that you didn’t dare let spill over in front of him. “You’d be dead. And I don’t know where I’d be. You’re just a pathetic, fragile, little human who thinks she can play with the big kids because one of them is her boyfriend.”

Even better… come fuck me then.”

A shudder erupted through your body and you swore your eyes were going to pop out of your skull and your jaw would be slack permanently. Did he seriously just suggest to fuck him?

“I’ll take good care of you, Y/N.” You were in a complete daze, still in shock that he had so straight forwardly suggested you to fuck him.

You couldn’t process it with Jungkook so close to you. You could feel his hot breath on your face as he whispers quietly in your ear. Your knees were going to buckle any moment and your body felt like it was on fire.

“God I can just imagine what it would be like to touch that body of yours. Y/N, I’d treat you right and treasure every part of you. I’ll make you feel so good. Plus… I’ve always wanted to try it in a classroom…” He snickered.

Harry and Y/N are enemies in the business world but the perfect partners under the sheets.

In the ideal scheme of things, Y/N shouldn’t have had anything to do with Harry Styles in the first place. Not in any way at all. People like her simply don’t have anything to do with people like him. That’s how things are and how they’re supposed to be, which was why no one who’s ever been an advocate of that implicit social norm would be able to comprehend how it hadn’t been possible for her to shift her sliding gaze from the bodily pull of his charm the moment they’d met in the dim light of a crowded art gallery that had suddenly felt empty and silent, as if the world had shrunk down to just the two of them, the surface under their feet heaving with the sharp metallic sound of attraction, nearly tossing them into the air. Their vastly different spheres of existence had rolled towards each other and somehow it had all made sense.

And now that he was gone without a single trace of him ever being in her life, all she could do was plough through the universe for every possible reason why it wasn’t her fault that she couldn’t stop feeling like there was a missing piece in her puzzle. She hadn’t asked for it. She hadn’t asked for him to barge into her, sweep her off her feet and push her towards a precipice with his delicate but deadly touch. It was fucking unfair that she had to feel that way over someone who was never an option.

Defying Gravity: Loki x Reader

Note: This is just a random idea I had; reader has the ability to manipulate gravity and Loki walks in on her chilling on the ceiling. Let me know what you think (I know its pretty terrible, just tell me nicely) or if you want to be tagged in any future works :)

“Y/N, what are you doing on the ceiling?”

Loki’s voice shattered your concentration, causing you to fall ungracefully onto the bed. You let out a grunt as you hit the mattress, thankful that the wooden frame of the bed hadn’t shattered upon impact; you’d already had to ask Tony for a new bed once this week and were pretty sure that he wouldn’t pay for third in as many days.

Rolling on to your back, rubbing your neck as you did, you grumbled, “I like sitting on the ceiling.”

The mattress slumped under Loki’s weight when he sat down beside you. Much to your surprise, without so much as a word, he began massaging your neck. You took a sudden breath when he caught a trapped nerve, cold air rushing into your lungs as the pain began to pass.

Twisting your neck until it clicked, you asked, “What can I do for you, Loki? I don’t know how things work around here, but where I’m from people knock before letting themselves in.”

"I thought I’d just come and see how you were settling in,“ he said, studying your room.

You were still in the process of unpacking so it looked like you were currently living in the middle of a bomb site. However, you had managed to sort out the most important things; your favourite shelf was up and packed tightly with hundreds of books. Everything else was half in, half out of the boxes, strewn across the floor without a home.

Gesturing to the mess, you said, "It’s clearly going very well. That’s not why you came to visit though, is it?”

"You’re very observant. Fine, I was curious as to why you are here. No-one knows anything about you or your powers. I want to know why Stark thought you so worthy.“

It was something that you’d thought about a lot since moving in with the Avengers. Just over two weeks ago, Tony Stark had appeared in your dorm room and told you, in no uncertain terms, that he was going to help you use your powers for good. Before you could argue, he’d sent someone to box up your things and brought you back to the compound with him.

"I’m gyrokinetic.” You had to hide your grin at the complete and utter look of confusion on his face. The few people that knew of your powers had all made the same face upon first hearing the term. “That means I can manipulate gravity.”

"Hence why you were on the ceiling…“ Loki said, slowly understanding. "What else can you do, other than float around?”

"It’s not just floating,“ you scoffed. "I only do that for fun. You’d be amazed what I can do.”

"Show me. It’s only empty words otherwise.“

"I don’t have to prove anything to you, Loki,” you said, stretching out across your mattress. With a gentle shove, you pushed the god off the edge of the bed and gave him a little wave. “Bored of you now. Bye bye.”

Somewhat shocked by your attitude, Loki turned to leave. However, he only managed a few steps before he was stopped in his tracks. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t lift his legs. It felt like they weighed a tonne and it wasn’t long until his knees gave out. He hit the floor with a loud thud, grimacing as he landed awkwardly on all fours.

Suddenly, as if it had never happened, the god could move again. He let out a deep breath, holding tightly on to the carpet to assure himself that he wouldn’t float away. Even though he was back under normal gravity, it was like his body was filled with helium, ready to float away now the force holding him down was gone.

"I might have lied,“ you chirped, pushing yourself up from the bed. It was almost funny how red Loki’s face had gone; you couldn’t tell if it was in anger at being humiliated this way or from exertion having fought the intense spike in gravity. "I’m not bored of you quite yet.”

His muscles fully adjusted to normal Earth gravity, the god rose to his feet and glared down at you. “Is that all you’ve got, little girl?”

From nowhere, he pulled a small dagger and threw it your way. Honestly, you hadn’t been expecting such a serious response and panicked. You instinctively snapped your hands up to protect your body and doubled over as a sharp pain radiated in your chest.

Looking up towards Loki, you stared dumbfounded at what you’d subconsciously managed to conjure between you - a miniature black hole! Your first instinct was to let go of your powers and let it close itself up but you knew that would be dangerous. Focusing all your attention on the darkness before your eyes, you brought your hands together and prayed that this would work.

You supposed, at least if it failed, you wouldn’t know about it. Current theories suggested that death by black hole would be pretty instantaneous.

When you finally managed to compress the rip in the fabric of space to nothing larger than a tiny pebble, it closed itself up and the world around you began to faze back into existence. Everything was a little messier than before, and that sharp pain near your heart hadn’t yet faded, but aside from that you’d never have known anything bad had happened.

The sound of Loki’s concerned voice also came to the foreground of your attention. “Y/N, are you alright?”

"Used a little too much energy there…“ you mumbled, breathing deeply to try and dull the pain you felt. You knew it wouldn’t kill you - it was a common side effect of over extending your abilities - but it bloody well hurt anyway. Shaking your head to clear your thoughts, you asked, "Are you okay? I didn’t mean for things to get that dangerous. I panicked a little.”

"I should probably apologise for throwing a knife at you, then.“

"You probably should,” you agreed. A few awkward seconds passed by before you added, “Well, go on then. Admitting you should apologise is not the same as actually doing it.”

You watched as the god bit back a smirk. “I shall give you fair warning, next time.”

Suspecting that was the best you were going to get out of him, you nodded in thanks. “Maybe next time just don’t throw a dagger at me at all? I need to rest now. That was a subtle hint for you to go.”

"I’d be happy to leave if you’d return me to the ground.“

That was when you clocked it. In your attempts to relax, you’d subconsciously lifted the gravity of the room so now both you and Loki were floating aimlessly a few feet above the ground. Releasing your grip on your powers, you slowly descended until you were both laying flat on the floor.

Loki helped you to your feet, pulling you up in one swift, graceful movement, before turning to bid you adieu. He paused, clearly half expecting you to play another trick on him, when a different voice rang through the sound system of your room. "Y/N? Do you have a moment?”

"Sure, Tony. What can I do for you?“

"Have you, by any chance, been messing around with your powers?” Tony’s voice sounded strained but you couldn’t quite work out why.

Looking over to Loki, who was slowly backing out of the room to completely avoid the conversation, you answered, “I was… testing a few things out, yeah. Why?”

"Do you know which room is directly under yours?“

"No…” you said slowly, sensing that this wasn’t going to end well and that Loki had indeed made the right decision to flee before getting dragged into it.

"Well, let me tell you. It’s my lab.“

You clasped a hand over your mouth as you realised what he was trying to say. You’d only ever lived on the ground floor before; using your powers to affect the local gravity had never bothered anyone else because there was no-one below to bother. Now, that clearly wasn’t the case.

Silently bringing up JARVIS’s camera shots of the lab on your computer screen, you saw a scene of absolute mayhem. Half of the lab was in zero-g whilst the other had a gravity comparable to Saturn. So, whilst the Iron Man suits were being crushed into tiny cubes of metal, Tony was floating around the room, barely able to tell which way was up anymore.

For someone that spent so much time whizzing and flying around, he really didn’t seem to be enjoying zero gravity.

Holding back a laugh, you whispered, "Tony, I’m so sorry. What can I do?”

"Get me down from here!“ he shouted, his calm finally breaking. He hit the ground with surprising force and let out a deep groan, holding his chest tightly. Judging by the way the colour drained from his face, you feared that he’d managed to break at least two ribs on impact.

Looking directly at the camera you were watching, Tony groaned, "You and I are going to have a serious talk later, Y/N.”

Maybe it would have been better to be swallowed by the black hole, after all.

Something Stupid (Like I Love You)

Title: Something Stupid (Like I Love You)

Summary: Dean didn’t think he could ever be jealous over someone who’s not his. He was wrong.

Author: deanssweetheart23

Characters: Dean Winchester x reader, Sam Winchester (mentioned), OMC.

Word count: 2014

Warnings: Not much. Tiny bit of fluff, some angst and a whole lot of language (because we all know that Dean and the f-word go together). Jealous Dean, I guess?

Author’s Notes: This is my sumbission for @death2thevirgin “Cassie Classic Challenge”. Cassie, congratulations on your milestone and thank you for letting me participate. I loved working on this one.

Also, I’d like to thank my amazing twin @ravengirl94 for her insightful comment on part of the dialogue -which was really needed- and some general advices about the beginning. Twin, YOU’RE THE BEST!

Now. My prompt for this was “I wish I knew how to quit you” from Brokeback Mountain and is included in bold in the text below. (This is written entirely from Dean’s POV)

The tiny bar was crowded, filled with smoke and hundreds of conversations narrated in loud voices, brightened only by some old bar lights. Rock music blasted through the jukebox and people around Dean laughed and danced and talked in an annoying cheerful manner.

And he… Well. He absolutely hated it because there was nothing to be cheerful about.

Swirling the amber liquid in his glass, he let the alcohol burn down his throat, eyes focused on the fascinating girl that was sitting a few tables away from him.

She was beautiful in that old Bad Company T-shirt that had once been his, head thrown back and eyes twinkling as she laughed at something the blue-eyed man next to her had said. She looked happy and engaged in a conversation with a man that wasn’t him and he knew, no matter how much it pained him to admit it, that she wouldn’t be heading back to their table anytime soon.

And part of him realized that it shouldn’t bother him. He realized that he had no right to be jealous and that Y/N was free to do as she pleased but the sight of her so close to another man, laughing at his stupid jokes and looking at him like he was the moon and the stars hurt him. Because only minutes earlier she had been chuckling at his antics, arm brushing up against his and bright, wide smile playing at the corners of her lips ever every time she caught him staring.

And he wasn’t being possessive. Or, at least, not entirely. Surely, he hated the idea of someone else putting their hands on Y/N, abhorred the mere possibility of that asshole kissing her, tracing soft skin and curves with his fingers, doing all the things Dean wished he could but knew he’d be never able to.

And yet, he was aware that she wasn’t his to begin with.

Jerome Valeska Imagine - You’re Scared Of Him

Your P.O.V.

The ginger boy in front of me was absolutely terrifying but at the same time, I felt happy. I adored him but I had never been so nervous and scared before. Yet here I was, with the clown prince of crime himself without being tied down and threatened with my life.

Jerome Valeska had been my best friend through out my childhood and to my teens. We were both 18 now, him being a few months older than me. Just a year ago I admitted that I liked him more than just friends and his feelings were mutual. We started to kiss each other and it developed into heated makeout sessions and then sex. We were together and I supported him. His mother was absolutely horrible but I didn’t expect Jerome to murder her.

The past few months had been the wildest and most emotional in my entire life. Jerome went to Arkham Asylum. It broke my heart and I was devastated. Once he joined the maniax, I was getting really scared. I thought I had lost his good side forever. The worst part was when I thought I had lost him forever. He died. My boyfriend, my bestfriend and soulmate had died.

I was all alone. The sadness and misery were too much for me so I drowned my feelings with a bottle. One bottle became two and it kept going. As I was in the middle of a cloud of misery, he came back. It was mindblowing. But at the same time I was happy. Jerome tried to make the entire city go mad. He lost his face and fought with Bruce Wayne. He was supposed to go back to Arkham, but Indian Hill took him. Jerome, being the badass he was, broke out and now he was here, with me.

He had scars around his face and his lips were curved into a smile. He was wearing a black shirt and jeans. He came with clothes filled with holes, but I had some of his old clothes here. So, he wore them.

‘‘You still look stunning’‘ He broke the silence that had been bothering us. I was shocked and more or less speechless. ‘‘How are you not dead?’‘ I dared to ask him. All my muscles were tense and I felt how my hands were trembling. I didn’t want to be so scared because I still loved him. Damn, I would do anything for him but I was afraid that he would kill me.

‘‘Death doesn’t seem to like me too much’‘ He laughed and then took a sip of the fresh coffee I had made before he barged through my window. Jerome came to my apartment without any warnings and I nearly stabbed him. I smiled a bit at his comment but I didn’t know how to relax.

‘‘Did ya miss me too much kitten?’‘ He asked me, standing up and then taking a seat right next to me on my black couch. I gulped and grabbed my cup, hoping that the coffee would help my nerves. I could literally hear my heartbeat. It kept beating, beating, beating, b e a t i n g….

‘‘Y/N’‘ Jerome snapped me out of my thoughts. I flinched and spilled some coffee on my lap. I winced in pain and quickly put the cup away. Jerome wiped the coffee off my thigh with his hand, making my breath hitch in my throat. His touch made goosebumps rise on my soft skin. His eyes looked straight into mine and that’s when I felt like losing myself. I tried to hold back my tears so he wouldn’t get angry, but it felt nearly impossible.

‘‘Why are you crying? Did someone hurt you?’‘ He growled as he saw the tears in the corners of my E/C eyes. I shook my head no but it didn’t convince him. Jerome clenched his jaw and seemed mad. It scared me so I his my face in my hands and tried to calm down. Although Jerome had killed people, even his own mother, it seemed like he still cared.

He pulled me into his strong arms and hugged me tightly. I could feel that he had gotten stronger. First, I held my breath, too scared to breathe as he held me. Then he rubbed my back gently, up and down which made me relax. ‘’Breathe kitten. It’s just me, Jerome. Everything’s alright’’ He tried to assure me. I inhaled a shaky breath and felt warm tears soaking his shirt. It was still him, the same person I had known since forever. But it felt different.

‘‘I missed you s-so much’‘ I sobbed and then clenched onto him. Finally, I allowed my other emotions to conquer my fear. ‘‘Yeah, it sucked that I couldn’t visit you in so long’‘ He admitted while rubbing my back. I bit my bottom lip and tasted the irony taste of blood. ‘‘But things will change. We can be together now’‘ He added a bit more happily. I met his pretty eyes and saw that he didn’t look bloodthirsty at all. He seemed genuinely glad to see me.

‘‘So..you won’t..’‘ I tried to speak but the words got stuck in my throat. ‘‘I won’t what? You gotta finish what you started doll face’‘ He tried to make me speak. I nodded and looked away. He hummed something and grabbed my jaw, making me face him again. ‘‘Tell me’‘ He whispered and looked serious. I just hoped he wouldn’t get mad at me. ‘‘You won’t k-kill me, right?’‘ I asked him with a voice, barely louder than a whisper. Something twisted in his eyes and he let go of my jaw.

‘‘Why would you even think that?’‘ He growled a bit angrily, startling me. Luckily, his temperament didn’t rise too much. ‘‘I would never lay a finger on you in a bad way. You’re the only one I care about Y/N. You’re my only friend and also my girlfriend. I love you’‘ He let me know ever so seriously. These words coming from his mouth were surprising. Jerome had always been a bit shy with me. I guess he had gained confidence to tell me that.

‘‘Are you scared to love me?’‘ He asked me after a while. It’s like he read me like an open book. ‘‘A bit’‘ I answered honestly. Jerome seemed a bit sad about that. It was so strange. I had been watching the news tapes of him over and over again. He had been smiling widely as he shot people. It’s like all his sympathy and love was gone, vanished into thin air. But now it looked like some had stayed. Knowing that he cared about me, and me only, warmed my heart.

‘‘You don’t need to be afraid. You know me Y/N. We have done so many things together and you haven’t been scared then. Yes, I’ve changed but I’ll always be Jerome for you’‘ He promised me sweetly. For a moment, I felt like I could forget his crimes. All the scary laughs and even the fact he killed his mom. Suddenly, Jerome leaned closer to me so the tips of our noses brushed against each other. His hand held onto my waist and his other hand was on my cheek.

now my heart fluttered for a different reason. ‘’I missed you baby. Please don’t fear me’’ He breathed out. Only a second later he pressed his soft red lips against mine. I shut my eyes and felt overwhelmed. His kiss was so warm and intense. He got so close and the beautiful moment washed my brain, making me focus on only this. Nothing else mattered.

‘‘I’ll make you feel safe again, okay?’‘ He purred and pushed me on my back. Then he nibbled my ear, making me moan a bit. ‘‘Yes Jerome’‘ I replied as calmly as I could. ‘‘You’re my girl, I’ll never let anyone harm you. If anyone even thinks about it, I’ll kill them’‘ He promised me. A minute ago that would have scared me, but now it felt like the most romantic thing ever.

‘‘Just please stay and don’t die again. I can’t live without you’‘ I told him as he kissed my neck. A shiver ran down my spine because his kisses felt so amazing. He knew all my sweet spots so well. ‘‘Don’t worry about that. One day we will be the kind and queen of this damn city’‘ He purred and then started to drag off my shirt. As he spoke, his voice got even deeper and raspier.

Now that my shirt was on the floor, I put my arms on my stomach. I was still a bit nervous although I had been in this situation with him before. ‘’Don’t hide yourself’’ He told me and grabbed my wrists, pinning them above my head. Suddenly I remembered something not so good.

Jerome noticed it too. He froze on the spot and just stared at my skin. I tried to yank my arm free, but he was stronger than me. ‘’What have you done?’’ He asked me with a bit scary voice. That’s when he moved his eyes away from my scars and looked deep into my eyes. His had turned darker and my fear came back into my body.

‘‘I..I don’t know’‘ I mumbled and pulled my arm away. Jerome let go and then sat again. I felt really anxious now. So I stood up and walked to my bedroom. Tears stung my eyes and I was sure he’d leave now. Instead of leaving, Jerome followed me, right into the devil’s cave. My room was full of empty bottles of whisky, rum and other strong drinks. I dragged my hair and bit my lips together, hoping that I could cry silently.

‘‘Y/N you’re not okay..’‘ Jerome noticed and then walked up to me. ‘‘How do you know what’s okay and not okay?’‘ I spat rudely without thinking. I regretted it immediately. ‘‘S-sorry..I’m sorry’‘ I breathed out and stepped a few steps back. Jerome wasn’t angry. He seemed..disappointed.  ‘‘I’m so sorry’‘ I sobbed and hit the wall. ‘’Is it because of me?’’ He wanted to know while looking around. My room was a mess. There was a stain of wine on the carpet and a pile of bottles on my nightstand.

‘‘I really..missed you..Jerome’‘ I managed to croak without stuttering. ‘‘I thought ..I lost you for good’‘ I continued and then sobbed. He came back to me and grabbed my hands. ‘‘So I took it out on m-myself. I started drinking and..cutting’‘ I admitted shamefully. I couldn’t even look at him. ‘‘Listen baby’‘ He whispered and took a deep breath.

‘‘I need you to stop doing that’‘ He started and I sighed. ‘‘It’s not easy’‘ I let him know. Suddenly he cupped my face and looked deep into my eyes. ‘‘I won’t let you do that, okay? I won’t leave anymore. Don’t.be.scared. Just fuck- please trust me, okay?’‘ Jerome got a bit frustrated. It’s like my actions hurt him. It’s a bit ironic because murdering a whole bunch of people didn’t make him sad, but me being sad was too much.

‘‘I’ll try’‘ I promised and blinked away my tears. ‘‘Geez, I thought that you’d hate me for what I did’‘ He admitted, obviously surprised that I still had feelings towards him. I just hugged him and hid my face in the crook of his neck. ‘‘How could I not love you?’‘ I whispered, not sure if he heard me. Now, I just wanted to sink into the moment. Hopefully, this wasn’t another dream of him coming back to me.

Don’t Say Anything (part 10)

Summary: You finally decide to tell Bucky that you’ve been in love with him since the day you met but what happens when you walk in on him with a girl? And not just any girl; Natasha.

Pairing: Bucky x Reader

Warnings: I CAAAANNNNTTTTTTTTT

A/N: I’m going to Pride for the first time this Saturday and I’m sooooo excited :)

It goes completely silent. Like dead silent and you hate it. Wanda’s looking between you and Natasha while your voice gets caught up in your throat.

“Nat.. I-I’m-” you stop speaking, running your fingers through your hair.

The fiery red head stood in front of you, mouth slightly open in shock. For a spy, she did not see this coming. Everything happened so fast. You didn’t mean to blurt it out. You cracked under pressure. This is exactly what you were trying to prevent from happening.

Suddenly the door bursts open and in walks Bucky and Steve, worried looks etched on their faces and guns pointed.

“What’s going on? We heard yelling.” Steve spoke first, eyes searching the room. From where they were, all they could hear was muffled yelling and they thought you and the girls were in some sort of danger. Once Steve looks at you, he lowers his gun. “What happened?”

Your eyes travel over to Nat who kept her gaze on the ground. Your heart broke. “Nat, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

Steve glances between the two of you before glaring at Bucky. “You’re not waiting any longer - talk to her.”

“But-”

“Talk to her!”

Bucky let out a shaky breath before stepping towards Nat. “Natasha can I.. Can I talk to you? Alone?”

She cleared her throat. “Yeah, we have a lot to talk about.”

You watch the two exit your room and your eyes fill with tears yet again. As your lip quivered, Steve pulled you into a hug where you let out a sob. “She hates me, Steve. I hurt her.”

“She doesn’t hate you, Y/N.” he sighed, rubbing your back in a comforting manner.

“You didn’t see the way she looked at me. She was so hurt. I betrayed her.” you cried. “What kind of friend am I?”

He shushed you, petting your hair softly as you cried your eyes out. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. She wasn’t supposed to find out. All you wanted was for them to be happy regardless if it hurt your feelings and made you want to drown in your own tears.

Wanda slowly got off the bed and placed her hand on your back. “Are you okay?”

You step away from Steve and wipe away your tears. “I fucked up.”

“I tried to stop it, Y/N.”

“I know. I should’ve walked out or something. Anything really.” you sniffled. “Now she hates me.”

“Steve’s right, she doesn’t hate you.” Wanda frowned. “Shocked, yeah. But she would never hate you.”

“Why wouldn’t she hate me? She just found out that her best friend is in love with her boyfriend. Of course she hates me!” you exclaim.

Steve’s eyebrows raise. “You’re in love with Bucky?”

Both you and Wanda ignore him. “Don’t think like that. She doesn’t hate you.”

“You don’t know that.”

“Wait.” Steve waved his hand. “You’re in love with Bucky?”

“Don’t make me repeat it.” you sigh.

“For how long?”

“Does it matter? Nothing good-”

“Five years.” Wanda cut in and you glare at her.

“Five years?!” he shouts. “Oh my god. Oh my god.”

“What?” the both of you say, watching as Steve slapped his palm against his forehead.

“Bucky, he-” but he stops himself.

“He what?” you question.

Steve cleared his throat. “That’s not for me to tell.”

“What the hell? Tell me.” you take a step towards the blonde.

He takes a step backwards. “No.”

“Steve, I’ve had enough today. Just tell me.”

“You’ll have to ask Bucky.”

You scoff. As if you’ll ever go near Bucky now. You should’ve just stayed away from him right when you found out about the two of them. Now everything’s out of control. You’re pretty sure Natasha hates you and Bucky  - Why would Bucky want to be with you now? Nothing will change with him.

Platinum blonde hair pokes into your room and the man attached to it smiles. “Guess who’s back and brought a cake… What’s going on? Why are your eyes all red?”

He fully steps into your room with a bag hanging from his wrist and you exhale loudly.

“Not now, Pietro.” Wanda says, shooing him away with her hand.

Pietro snarls. “Not now my ass, she’s crying.”

“Just go!” she points to the door.

“Like I’d ever listen to you, младшая сестра.” he scoffed, setting the bag down on your bed. “What happened.”

“She’s in love with Bucky.” Steve says as Pietro walked towards you.

“You finally told him? Did he reject you? Is that why you’re crying?” he held you by your upper arm, eyes filled with concern. You glance at Wanda then at Steve before letting out a sigh.

And you told him everything.

Bucky led Natasha to his room where he shut the door and locked it so they could have their private conversation. Bucky was nervous. His hands were shaking, his heart was pounding and he wanted to throw up.

If he even said the slightest thing to piss her off, she’d murder him. Literally. Bucky walks around her and sits on his bed, patting the spot next to him. Natasha doesn’t say a word as she sits beside him, a decent gap space between the two of them. She was thinking hard, thinking about the mini argument with Bucky 3 days ago, thinking about everything that’s happened, literally in the past hour and 30 minutes.

The brunette clasps his hands together, leaving them to rest on his lap and clears his throat. “So..”

“Do you like Y/N?” Nat asked, not bothering to waste any time. “Be honest with me.”

“I - Yeah. Yeah, I do.” he breathed.

Natasha exhaled an ‘okay’ and looked over at Bucky. “Don’t hurt my best friend, Barnes. Do you hear me?”

Bucky nods. “Yeah.”

“If she ever comes crying to me because of you, you’re dead.”

“Got it.”

“Alright.” she nods. “We’re done here.”

Natasha moves to stand up but Bucky grabs her hand. “Wait, that’s it? We didn’t even get to actually talk!”

“Because there’s nothing to talk about!” she replied.

Bucky scoffed. “There’s a lot to talk about.”

The red head sighed and sat to face Bucky. “Alright, fine. Let’s talk.”

“Thank you.” he breathed. “Before I start I just want you to know that I do care about you and you’re a great person.” Nat nods. “Okay so, before.. us happened I had a thing for Y/N but I didn’t think she.. you know, liked me back.” this made Nat scoff as she thought back to what you had blurted out earlier. “And then you came along and we got to talking which then led to.. you know and every time I was with you, I forgot about my feelings for Y/N. You were like a distraction. What we had was a.. a fling. You know that. I enjoyed your company. You filled the hole inside me briefly, the one that yearned for Y/N’s love and affection. I know this all sounds bad, trust me - and I know that messing with your feelings was a douchebag move but at the time, I thought I wanted to be with you. I told myself over and over again that I wanted to be with you and not Y/N but fuck, seeing Pietro all over her these past couple of days annoyed the hell out of me and I couldn’t lie to myself anymore - I couldn’t hurt you as well. I couldn’t string you along, making you think that I loved you when really, my heart belongs to Y/N.”

Nat nods her head. “So you were using me this whole time?”

“I wouldn’t necessarily word it like that but yeah.” he sighed. “It was a dick move, I know. It’s fine if you want to hit me or cut my balls off. I deserve it. I’m sorry.”

The red head exhales. “If I were some other woman, I’d be absolutely furious right now. I’d want to punch you, knee you in the balls so hard that you wouldn’t be able to produce children later on in the future.” Bucky chuckled softly. “But, I’m not some other woman. I’m me. And although everything you just said was fucked up, I shouldn’t be one to judge because I’ve been using you too.”

Bucky raises his eyebrows at Natasha’s words. “What?”

“I was in a bad place when we started talking. Bruce had ran off without even saying goodbye to me. I had to hear from Tony that he left. Fucking Tony. I was sad, I mean I really did love him. I get that he had to leave for the protection of everyone around him but a simple goodbye would’ve sufficed, you know?” Bucky nods. “Anyways we got to talking and all that other stuff and for a minute, you’d make me forget about all the heartbreak Bruce caused me. Just like I filled the hole in you that craved Y/N, you filled the hole in me. A distraction was what you were. You distracted me from my real feelings. I know what we had was a fling, I never saw it as anything more than a casual talk and fuck - sometimes make out sessions. But other than that, I didn’t have feelings for you. I liked the fact that you distracted me from Bruce and I guess I made myself think that I actually liked you in the process.” she ran her fingers through her hair. “And I’m sorry too.”

“Wow.” Bucky laughed, staring straight ahead at his wall. “So us dating, that was-”

“Completely idiotic and for no reason.” she finished for him.

He face palmed. “Oh my god, we’re idiots.”

“Yeah,” she laughed. “We are.”

“We didn’t even actually like each other, why did we start dating?” Bucky questioned, although he already knew the answer.

I have no idea.” Nat laughed. “Oh, and sorry about getting all mad after accusing you of liking Y/N. I guess I got frustrated that reality was setting in and the fantasy was no longer there.”

“It’s cool. Sorry for.. literally everything.” Bucky shrugged.

“It’s fine.” she chuckled. “No hard feelings?”

“No hard feelings.” he nodded before running his fingers through his hair. “Oh god, now I have to talk to Y/N. What if she doesn’t feel the same way?”

“I have a feeling she will.” the spy says as she stood up, extending her hand out for Bucky to take. “Come on, let’s go get your girl.”

The super soldier takes her hand and stands up, following her out to the hallway. “You know Y/N’s a jealous person, right? Not too jealous though but a reasonable amount of jealous.” she says.

“Yeah, it’s cute, right?” he smiled. “Ooo she’s gonna get so mad and jealous when she realizes that we’ve had sex. Plus those make out sessions and the amount of times she’s caught us. Wow. You’re in some deep shit.”

“She’s gonna get mad at you, not me.” Nat scoffed.

“You were messing around with her man.” Bucky countered.

She rolled her eyes. “Sisters before misters, Barnes. Never forget.”

“Yeah well… Bucky before Nat.” he replied, causing the red head to laugh.

Request: could you please write a siriusxreader where he and james have the habit to take the cloak and stay up late in the commom room making bets about the couples making out and one night they caught their best friend, the reader, making out with a guy and she heard them and leave with the guy to her dorm and sirius stops talking to her and you can finish how you want?

“Guess we’ll have a boring night.” – Sirius said, sitting under the invisibility cloak with James. – “I can’t believe there’s not a single…” – But he stopped suddenly, when the portrait hole just opened up. He almost jumped up to greet Y/N, but then he saw a guy behind her, hand in hand, leading him into the common room.

“That was close.” – He breathed out as they plopped down on the couch. – “I thought Filch is going to murder us.”

“No, he’d prefer to torture us first, haven’t you heard that from him before?” – She giggled and rolled her eyes.

Rhys leaned closer and put his hand on her thigh. “Well, usually I’m not getting into any troubles… like you.”

“I don’t know what are you talking about.” – She replied with her most innocent face, looking up at him before he pressed his lips against hers, kissing her so passionately and deeply she had to lean back on the couch immediately.

Meanwhile, Sirius’ heart was beating in his ears and felt he could just go and rip the bloke apart – but more and more he saw he just really wanted to leave. He couldn’t watch this anymore. “I want to go.” – He almost jumped up, but James grabbed his arm, pulling him back to the ground just in time, while he was still under the cloak.

“What was that?” – Y/N asked suddenly, breaking the kiss while Rhys rested his hand under her skirt.

“I haven’t heard anything.” – He said quickly, in the attempt to continue what he started. A few seconds later she heard something again – and now she was sure. James and Sirius doing that again.

Anger filled her immediately; she always told them it’s a terrible thing to do, but knowing that her best friends sneaking up on her to…

She jumped up suddenly, taking the boy’s hand. “Come to my dorm. It’s more private there, you know.” – She said loudly, glancing on the corner where she heard the noises before. Rhys shot a half grin at her before they both left.

“It’s nice to actually see you!” – Y/N yelled after she arrived to the Great Hall, sitting down next to Sirius. James looked at her almost scared, knowing she’d easily hex him. – “You really are both huge prats, you know that?”

“Sorry! We didn’t know you had a date.” – James said desperately.

She looked at him across the table with a furious face. “You shouldn’t do this at all! There’s privacy, you know!” – She said loudly, trying to not shout. – “And what if I wouldn’t hear you? Then you just sit there, watching me having sex on the couch with Rhys?”

Sirius shifted in his chair, but still stayed in silence.

“No! We usually leave when that part comes.” – James said in a low voice, causing her to roll her eyes. – “Look, I’m really sorry.”

She sighed, shaking her head before she turned to Sirius. “And you have nothing to say?”

“Not really.” – He answered shortly, now even bothering to look into her eyes before he stood up, grabbed her backpack and left the Great Hall. Y/N was so shocked she couldn’t even speak for a long minute.

“What’s gotten into him?” – She asked James, but he just shrugged, looking at his plate, carefully avoiding her gaze. She shrugged too; she get used to Sirius’ mood swings by now. Besides, she was still angry with the boys for what they did.

But hours passed and he didn’t talk to her. He didn’t even sit next to her at classes, when she asked something he didn’t even hear – or just acted like he haven’t. At the end of the day, after dinner, she stopped him in front of the Fat Lady, not bearing his strange and annoying behaviour anymore.

“Sirius, what is wrong with you?”

“Nothing.” – He said, ready to leave her, but she grabbed his arm.

“Really? Because it seems to me you’re angry with me since this morning. Or yesterday night.”

The memory made him angry immediately. “Well, sorry, it wasn’t a pleasant sight for my eyes to see your sweet Rhys running his hands all over you.”

She closed her eyes and shook her head, trying to understand the situation. “Why is that bothering you, actually?”

“It isn’t! I just… I thought you’re not one of those girls.”

Her eyes widened in anger. “One of those girls?! You mean like those girls whom you like so much, right? Those who let you in your bed so easily? Because I don’t remember I’ve ever heard you complain about them.” – Sirius opened his mouth, but she continued quickly. – “And I’ve never complained either about them.”

“That’s completely different! And why would you complain? It’s none of your business.”

Her jaw dropped. “Do you even hear yourself?” Yes, that’s not my business, just as it isn’t yours what I do with other guys!” – She shouted, causing several paintings to hiss at them. – “Or you’re the only one who can sleep around?  Using girls to make yourself better and forget about bad things? To feel yourself not so lonely sometimes?”

As she stopped and Sirius’ eyes darkened, she knew she crossed a line, but before she could’ve said something, he spoke up in a low voice. “Fuck you, Y/N. Oh, I forget somebody already done that.” – He said before he left, stepping through the portrait hole. She went after him, seriously considering to curse or hex him from behind, or at least shouting something to him, but by the time she was inside, Sirius was out of her sight.

She plopped down next to James, tears choking her and face red from the anger. “What happened?” – James asked, eyebrows furrowed.

She took several deep breaths before she could speak without crying. “Your friend angry with me, because… I don’t even know! He’s an idiot.”

James exhaled slowly. “You seriously don’t know why he’s angry with you?”

“Well, he’s because he thinks I slept with Rhys. But other than that… it’s none of his business. He shouldn’t be angry with me because of that!”

“Yes, but… wait, did you say he thinks? So you didn’t… you know.”

Y/N shot an angry look at him. “Not like it matters, but no. I was too angry after I realized you saw me.” – And I like someone else anyway, she thought.

“And what the guy said?”

She shrugged. – “He was furious and left. He was an asshole, actually.”

James adjusted his glasses and sat closer to Y/N. “Listen. You should talk to Sirius.”

“Sure, I will! After he apologized.” – She remembered something then, and after she ran her fingers through her hair, she sighed. – “But that’s probably not going to happen. I said ugly things to him too.”

“I’m sure you can…” – He started, but she cut him off.

“But he started this! It was his fault, right?”

“Talk to him.” – James said slowly.

“After he apologized.” – Y/N said again, leaving her friend on the common room who rolled his eyes at her. She knew, very well that Sirius too proud and stubborn to say sorry first. The only problem is that she was the same.

And they managed to spend four days without talking each other. It was only sarcastic comments or judging looks and short, sad glances when the other hasn’t noticed.

Until they went to Hogsmeade together and the other left them alone at a table; James, Remus and Peter went to another round of butterbeer while Lily and Marlene went to the loo, but curiously, none of them returned.

After ten minutes of awkward silence Sirius emptied his glass and jumped up. “I go and kill them.”

But Y/N grabbed his arm. “Can’t we talk?” – She had no idea why she said this, maybe the firewhisky, maybe the last four days were too much without him, but she wanted to talk. Sirius looked down at her for a long moment before he slowly sat back down, said nothing, but watching her carefully. – “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said… what I said.”

He just nodded slowly, so she quickly folded her arms and raised her voice. – “But I’m still angry with you, you know. You were…”

“An asshole, yes, I know.” – He leaned back on his chair and took a deep breath. – “I’m sorry for sneaking up on you and for everything I said after that. I… it’s really not my business what are you doing.” – He only looked into her eyes at the end, and she could see the honest regret and sadness in the depth of his pupils. But she only nodded as well.

“So are you and Robbie or Rick or something still dating?” – Sirius asked, avoiding he gaze again, looking into his empty glass.

She sighed. “No. We haven’t… nothing happened.”

“Oh.” – He said in surprise. – “Why? I mean… only if you wanna talk about it.” – He added quickly, seeing a flick of anger on her again.

She looked into his eyes for a long moment. Mostly because of you, she was thinking, but just shrugged. “It doesn’t matter.”

“But he didn’t hurt you, did he? I just learnt a new hex and I’d gladly test on him.”

She laughed. “There’s no need for that.”

Seeing her laughing reminded him why he was so furious on that night in the common room. “I really am sorry, Y/N.”

“It’s fine. But I still don’t understand why you were so angry with me.”

“Because…” – He stopped for a second, thinking about if he should lie or not, but the words escaped him before he could’ve think through properly. – “I like you.”

She raised her eyebrows. – “Well, I hoped that after long years of friendship you like me.”

And there was the perfect excuse; he could lie so easily, but this time he wasn’t able to do it. – “No, I mean… it’s a bit more than friendship… for my part. Or a lot more than that.”

Her lips parted and looked at him shocked before a short laugh burst out from her. “Are you serious?”

He narrowed his eyes. “I am Sirius, Y/N, but we talked about this.”

Her face was still amused, but her voice was low. “Why haven’t you… you know, asked me out?”

“Would you have said yes?” – He asked in disbelief.

“Yes.” – She laughed again, seeing his shocked reaction.

Sirius tilted his head back and growled before he looked back at her, staring for a few seconds. She was still grinning, and it made him smile too. “So, now that we cleared that we were both blinds and idiots, will you go out with me?”

She pouted, which turned into a smile soon. “I don’t know, you just called me an idiot.” – Sirius let out a tired sigh, so she continued. – “Of course I’ll go out with you, you dolt.”

Y/N could see a strange expression on his face, though it wasn’t bad, it was some kind of wonder. He sat closer to her and turned his voice down. “Can I kiss you?” – Her eyes widened after the question and fell silence. – “What? I mean, it’s okay if not…”

“No, just, I’d never in my wildest dream thought you’re the type who ask this question.”

“You see, me neither.” – He said, leaning closer with every sentence. – “I don’t think I’ve ever asked this.”

She giggled once more before closed the gap between them, pressing a soft and slow kiss on his lips.

Stealing Sweaters (Part 8)

Thank you so very much! To this anon and all the others that have sent me such wonderful messages!

If you’re new to the series, please start here!

“What do you want, Pansy?” Draco asked bitterly, pulling his cloak around himself more tightly as a bitingly cold wind gust of wind swept of over them on the Hogwarts grounds.

“Nothing wrong with a little fresh air, is there?” Pansy said primly.

Draco’s expression darkened, “You hate fresh air and pointless exercise. If you’re going to lie to me at least try to be a little more clever about it.”

Pansy was quiet for a moment, the only sound was the faint crunch of the thin layer of snow, frozen hard overnight, melting in places under a brilliant late winter sun that seemed to be promising an early spring.

“You’re in a shit mood. I wanted to help,” Pansy said, “and you happen to like long, pointless, moody walks.”

That seemed closer to the truth although Draco could tell Pansy was still hiding something. Blaise was the only one who could lie to his face and get away with it.

“They’re not moody,” Draco retorted, on principle.

Pansy snorted inelegantly, “Whatever you say, sunshine.”

They followed the path along the bank of the lake, to the edge of the forest and back again. Right before they were meant to head back into the castle, Pansy veered off, walking out onto the small dock that, as far as anyone knew, was only used for the first years boats on the very first day of every school year.

“What are you doing?” Draco grumbled but followed her out onto the creaking wood, ducking his head into his scarf as the wind whipped across the black lake.

“It’s our last year,” Pansy said quietly.

Draco rolled his eyes, “Sentimentality doesn’t suit you.”

“I didn’t say I would miss it,” she said sharply before her expression softened, “Just, a lot has happened here. It’s strange to think we won’t be coming back.”

Draco’s nose wrinkled but he kept his mouth shut, not particularly wanting to encourage Pansy one way or another into any sort of conversation that would increase the amount of time it would take to get back to the warm castle.

“I don’t want to have any regrets,” Pansy was saying, turning to him, “You know, Draco?”

He raised an eyebrow, “If you’re done reminiscing like a soppy Hufflepuff?”

She frowned at him, “Oh, just use a warming charm  if you’re cold, you ninny.”

“Or we could just leave,” he said pointedly, none-the-less taking out his wand to replace the waning warming charm he had cast before they left. He turned the tip of his wand to himself, the words of the spell on were on his lips when his feet slid out from under him.

He had one breathless moment of utter terror as he fell backwards where the world seemed to be holding its breath. He hit the water. He hadn’t the time or thought to hold his breath and the bitingly cold water over his head filled his mind with panic. His feet touched the bottom and he pushed to the surface and took a deep gasping breath. The water was only chest deep.

It was so cold it hurt.

Draco’s fear and panic was instantly replaced with pure and utter fury.
