because he's an asshole who only did it to use her as a weapon

A quick Clexa AU fic list as requested by anon

This is rather chaotic as I’ve put it together real quick and I’ve plenty favorites - I might add more as I remember or as I go through my reading (some are finished, some are on-going). For now though …

A sad, but real view of Reiner and Bertolt relationship

I always said I don’t care who you put Bertolt with: ships and friends are always welcome to me as long as Bertolt gets the love he deserves. This helped me realizing what is the real thing between him and Reiner.
I’m really sorry to say so, but Bertolt didn’t get any love from his friend. I agree with the theory that Reiner has strong feelings for him, maybe even romantic (as hinted many times after the herring dialogue with Ymir), but he was never able to show them. You may think he didn’t because he was aware of his feelings to be one-way, since he pointed out more than once that Bertolt has a crush on Annie (and I believe this is true), but it’s sadly not because of that.
It’s because Reiner is a coward, and probably loves himself more than anyone, even Bertolt. Since we could get some development for his character, we started noticing how much this guy does his best to keep himself away from sufference. He even built up another personality for this purpose. Ymir’s words in the forest were clear: he developed mental problems because he was not able to cope with his guilt, not because he was born that way. No sickness involved.
So yeah, he is indeed the weakest of the duo, yet the only one who felt a total failure until the end was Bertolt. And this is not what I call love: it’s what I call being selfish. Reiner let him go thinking he was a coward with no will, as he has always made him feel. He has always been cold with the most precious thing he had (after himself). If he really cared about Bertolt more than about himself and his pride he would have never recommended him to be careful like this:

It’s as clear as the water that he is using cold tones to make sure Bertolt to do his best to survive, but these could be his last words to him (and they will be) so why being an asshole until the very end?
Because Reiner is too scared to ever show his feelings. He is too scared to suffer, so he rather make the ones he loves to suffer instead. He is too afraid to use his love as a weapon to give courage to his friend. He rather uses Annie, once again, who’s not even there and whose they’re not even sure is still alive:

But this was just the last proof of his selfish behaviour. During their time as trainees, Reiner deluded himself multiple times in the soldier play, believing to be a normal recruit like the others. He even had a crush on the girl everybody like, so just like a regular cadet. He has been seeking for normality all the time, forgetting his only friend, who was probably like the Devil to him. Bertolt was the one who used to bring him back to reality, that one reality Reiner was escaping. It was in those moments that Bertolt proved himself to be reliable, something that Reiner was probably too busy to see.

And now… now it’s a little too late to go back:

It’s not the Walls, Reiner: it’s you. Ymir wrote that letter because she knew she wouldn’t have seen Historia again. She accepted the idea to die (and I honestly hope she died in the end, since I have enough of fake final speeches) because she had no regrets or remorses. She told Historia what she wanted to tell her, because she learned and was able to admit to herself that you can’t live for yourself, even if you get a second chance. And you’re not going to have it anyway, Reiner, because Bertolt won’t never come back to hear what you were never had the guts to tell him (I’m not talking in a strictly romantic way, I’m talking about feelings in general).

I honestly hope we are going to see Reiner figuring out how much selfish he was, because if he really cared for Bertolt more than himself he must let his fears go and clearly tell us what his regrets are. He must speak to us, which is not what he did with Bertolt. A quick, single page showing a flashback of him and Bertolt standing on the Walls is not enough: I want to hear his rage towards himself, I want him to prove me wrong, or his character will be totally fucked up.

Newcomers Pt6

“EAT IT!!!”

“NO”

“I SAID EAT IT!”

“GET OFF ME WOMAN!!” Hesky shouts throwing Karen off him and running out the door.

“YOU WILL ACCEPT MY VALENTINE LOVE!!!” she shouts chasing after him holding her home made chocolates above her head.

The two Humans screaming and running past Dr Loop’s door was nothing out of the ordinary these days, he liked the Humans and found them fascinating and rather good company. That did not mean that he did not find them odd to the point of thinking they were all insane. Some were quiet and preferred to be alone and other were loud and found hurting themselves to be hilarious. Suddenly his door opened with another Human limping.

“What happened to you?” Dr Loop asks.

“Sergeant Stabby got me” he replies.

“Why do you keep it around and why the Admiral allows that thing to stay I’ll never know”

“Don’t talk ill of Sergeant Stabby, he is war hero you know”

“IT is a cleaning machine”

“Irrelevant he is a hero and deserves our respect”

“But-”

“SHHHHHH here he comes”

Sergeant Stabby made his way into the Dr’s office and bumped into a few wall and furniture all the while the Human stood up and saluted it until it left.

“Tell me something um…” Dr Loop said

“Cho”

“Cho, tell me something Cho is it the norm for you race to be so….nuts?”

Cho smiled “You’ve never been to Terra have you?”

“No”

“Shame, because if you think we are crazy you’d love to see us on our home world”

Dr Loop just scoffed and went to look at Cho’s foot. “The bleeding has already stopped”

“Well yeah he doesn’t stab us deeply”

“But still  for wound like this to stop bleeding so soon”

“Yeah it’s clotting? Wait…have you worked on Humans before”

“I have studied Human anatomy yes”

“But actually worked with one? In person before we got here?”

Dr Loop did not like his skills being questioned, his race the Seelom were a very proud race especially of their skills.

“It matters not, I know all the ins and outs of your kinds bodies, probably better than you and the rest of your backwards and primitive kind”

Cho raised an eyebrow “Give your arm for a sec” he asked.

“Why?”

“Just trust me”

Dr Loop gave him one of his right arms and Cho stuck out his tongue all the while looking at his face for a reaction but Dr Loop just looked confused and a little disgusted.

Cho licked his arm and a split second later Dr Loop was screaming as Cho’s saliva burned through his skin.

Dr Loop fell tot he floor cradling his arm and after a few more seconds the burning stopped and Cho was on his feet.

“Guess you forgot our saliva is like acid to your kind” he said and left without helping him up.

The Benemar Chief of Admiral Polts fleet was back on Bento Prime, he had already been disgraced for not seeking justice after one of his clan leaders was killed by a Human female. And to let the Humans gain all the glory for the liberation of Remer making their kind out to be a joke.

“Cheif Goolack of the Benemar step forward!” called one of the High Chieftains and he stpped forward.

“You are a coward and weak, you let the murder of your own kind go unanswered and these Humans push you around like your are their slave, what say you in your defence”

Chief Goolack stood up straight, the chains around his wrists were heavy and those around his legs were heavier, his pig-like nose snorted and his tusks had been cut to show his disgrace.

“I am a Benemar and I fought for our people and uphold my laws and our laws say that the STRONG!!! rule. Well the Humans have shown their strength and I saw their might in battle against a foe who outnumbered them many times over and they came away from that battle covered in the blood of their enemies. They are the only race who has ever besieged our world and you judge me as a coward for respecting strength?”

“They are the ENEMY!!! they burned our breeding pens and they must be wiped out. They are gaining too much power, power they are taking from us”

The court cheered and banged their weapons which were a combination of ancient war axes and rifles against their armour.

“Let this cry go out across to the star to all Benemar, the Alliance high command has given us the location oft heir breeding ground, we march…TO WAR!!!!”

The Benemar all over the Alliance suddenly began disappearing from Alliance ships, when asked why they were going back to their home world they simply replied “The High Chief has risen the banner”

Many thought this was the Benemar about to begin an independent push into Gal territory but they did not deny or confirm this and the army on Bento Prime continued to grow, the Humans though did not trust the Benemar and kept their eye on them.

Life in Admiral Polts fleet went on a s usual, or as usual it could be with the Humans around and with the Benemar now gone their was no hostility in the air. The Humans did their best to include the other races in their odd practices such as celebrating the anniversary of ones birth. They even as far to inquire to the other races celebrations and traditions and asked to take part which made the others rather flattered. They ranged from celebrating the unification of the Fookkarl under one banner which the Humans described as one large orgy as there was a lot of kissing but the Humans obliged.

The fun did not stop there.

Depit, an Elong like Admiral Polt was travelling in the ship main elevator to the observatory when it stopped to let a number of other crew off but only person got on. It was a Human, female by the looks of her but her stomach was huge, maybe she had just eaten he thought to himself. The elevator stopped a few more times and before long it was only him and this Human who from her tag her name was Sergeant Cathy. He started to sweat, he saw what was left of the body of the Benemar that she had attacked.

She smiled at him and gave a nervous smile back but nothing was said between them, until the elevator suddenly and harshly stopped.

“Ahhh!” Cathy screamed at the sudden change of momentum.

“Are you okay?” he asked and she nodded. “Must be a power outage” he tired raising maintenance but go response, there was no power to the that call button either. Suddenly Cathy was breathing fast and hard.

“Umm, are you sure you’re okay” he asked again but she shook her head and held her large stomach.

“The baby is coming” she panted.

“Baby? What baby?”

“I’m FUCKING PREGNANT YOU ASSHOLE!!! she screamed and he jumped.

“Oh? OH?!!! CRAP!”

Cathy sat down as her water broke and leaned back.

“What do I do!! HELP!” he shouted into the call button in some hope that someone would hear.

“What…what is your name?” she asked.

“Depit”

“Depit, come here I need you to help me” she said holding out her hand and he slowly came and she grabbed it.

“I don’t know what to do” Depit said.

“Just hold my hand and squeeze when I squeeze!”

“What?”

“AHHHHHHH” Cathy screamed and squeezed Depits hand so hard she broke two of his fingers as he had tried to pull away when he heard the word squeeze.

“WHY YOU PULL AWAY!!!” she shouted at him.

“You’ll break my hand if you squeeze it”

It then dawn on her that Humans were far stronger than Elong, so she pulled off her trousers and tore off a piece so she could bite down on it and screamed again.

“Why are you screaming what’s happening I don’t how to help” Depit said panicking.

“IM HAVING CONTRACTIONS YOU FUCKING IMBECILE!”

“WHAT ARE THOSE!!!!”

“MY BODY IS GETTING READY TO PUSH THE BABY OUT!”

“OF WHERE!!”

“WHERE THE FUCK DO YOU THINK?!!!”

Another contraction came and she screamed so loud Depit had to cover his ears.

This went on for over and hour till finally Cathy stopped screaming as contractions suddenly stopped.

“Okay…okay” she said to herself with Depit fanning her with his wings.

“How long does this usually go on for?” he asked.

“My mother was in labour for 32 hours with me”

“32 HOURS!”

“Ah don’t shout, I’m lucky the contractions have stopped”

“What happens next?”

Cathy looked at him “Next comes the pushing”

“Elong births are lot…faster than this”

“You’re a bird race, you have it easy” she laughed. Then started panting. “Here it comes! Get between my legs!!”

Depit obeyed and cathy spread herself and Depit froze.

“What do I do?”

“Catch!”

“Catch?”

Cathy burst into laughter “I’m kidding, just guide it out”

Depit got ready and Cathy screamed again, this time louder and so much Depit thoughtt he walls were shaking.

“I can see the egg”

“IT’S NOT AN EGG IT’S A FUCKING HEAD!! WE DON’T LAY FUCKING EGGS!!!”

“WHAT!!! HOW THE…I’M SORRY…BY CREATION WHAT THE…..!” he screamed as the head appeared.

Cathy started breathing again and moved her hand to feel where the baby was “okay, one more” she positioned herself and Depit put his hands by the baby’s head and Cathy pushed with every ounce of her remaining strength and it fell into Depits arms.

After the baby began crying he handed it to Cathy who wrapped it up in her jacket and cradled it.

“It’s a boy” she said.

“No wonder your race is so tough, you endure coming into the world like that and are willingly go through it to bring one of your own into the world”

“And we do it over and over again, I’ll be doing at least two more times I think” she laughed “What did you say your name was again?”

“Depit, my name is Depit”

Cathy smiled and looked down at her son “Do you mind if I call my son Depit?”

Depit’s eyes nearly shot out of his head, for a child to bear ones name is a great honor among his people. “You would do me that honour?”

“Of course, you brought him into the world, well I did most of the work but still”

“Thankyou” he said smiling.

“Oh beware of the after birth”

“The what?” Depit said looking down just as it slumped down in front of him.

In the higher levels and completely unaware of the new addition to their family the Humans were having a friendly game of football with some of the Aliens when Captain Clerk called for a stop. Admiral Polt was with him and everyone could tell by their Captains face that something had happened.

“Men and woman of the 8th Human army” Clerk started “Approximately 16 hours ago the Benemar launched a full scale assault on Terra”

The air became heavy as if every Human and Alien had stopped breathing, no one spoke.

“The battle is still going on and all Human forces are being recalled to aid the defence force fighting there, our latest report says they have breached our outer defence net and are landing their troops. So get your stuff I want us ready to go yesterday!!”

The Humans didn’t say anything and as a single mind dropped what they were doing and ran to their quarters and collected all their belongings and things they brought with them. The cargo hold that they had made their own was dismantled within 10 minutes, every Human was found and accounted for including Cathy and her new son Depit. Hesky was thrilled to see his son but annoyed that she named him something that reminded him of cesspit.

Within 2 hours the Humans were all loaded onto their own ships, they said a quick farewell to their Alien friends and set off for Terra.

The Benemar continued their assault, unaware that word had gotten out about their attack on Terra, unaware of the armada coming for them.

noonfter  asked:

ALRIGHT CONSIDER OK so my friend had a midnight OH SHIT moment and thought of gai/zabuza because holy shit. Gai seeing zabuza as a "what if" version of Kakashi Bc the whole //I'm a tool I exist only to be used by the village// thing and the fact he's shunned for his demonic chakra and bloodthirsty nature and Kakashi is shunned for his father !!! Imagine gai being like yes ok ur my second eternal rival and determined to help zabuza out of the darkness like he did with Kakashi AND IMAGINE (1/2)

THEIR KIDS??? tenten being ecstatic because swordsman!! And pestering him for lessons and neji and haku!!! Them sparring and neji determined to find a way I beat his ice mirror jutsu and just imagine zabuza taking one look at Lee and being like oh god not a mini ok kid get over here and I’m gonna teach u how to use a sword it’s for the greater good and haku just is so amused and happy Bc gai is a ray I sunshine and it’s good ok

Um. Oops?

Zabuza is honestly still waiting for the other sandal to drop.

“And this one!” the admirably bloodthirsty little girl breathes with clear reverence, lifting a sword off the wall and turning to offer it to him.

Feeling mostly bemused, Zabuza takes it, judging the balance, and feels his eyebrows climb involuntarily. “Well now,” he says, checks the forger’s stamp on the hilt, and whistles. “Where’d a brat like you get a Toye blade?”

Rather than taking offense, Tenten beams. “I took it off a samurai in northern Ame,” she says cheerfully. “He had no idea how to use a sword. I was doing the world a favor.”

Zabuza chuckles, because this brat he can connect with. He flips the sword up, catches it, and tries a couple of thrusts, and it’s not Kubikiribōchō, but it still moves like a dream, folded steel glimmering blue like ripples of water.

Tenten watches him like a proud parent showing off her children, hands clasped in front of her as she bounces on her toes. Almost reminds him of Mei, really, though she likes sharp things more than lava. Likes sharp thing a lot, seeing as the walls of her apartment are pretty much floor-to-ceiling weapon racks, and that’s not even counting the scrolls full of more standard weapons piled high on a shelf.

If only the rest of her team were like her, honestly.

From the kitchen, there’s a loud cry of victory in two voices, and Zabuza swears he can feel his eye twitch. Tenten doesn’t even seem to notice as she takes the Toye blade from him and carefully sets it back in its stand, but Zabuza supposes it would take a lot more than a bit of noise to shake her if she’s really been on the lunatic’s team for a whole year already.

“Second rival!” said lunatic cries, skidding around the corner to present him with a beaming smile and two thumbs up. “We have successfully created a meal that will nourish your flames of Youth! Come, my friend! It is ready!”

Zabuza has encountered more exclamation points in the last two days than he had in his entire life before this, and he isn’t quite sure what to think of it. He eyes Gai for a moment, then glances past him at Haku, who is splattered liberally with what is probably batter and is frazzled but trying not to look it. The Hyuuga kid seems entirely resigned to his fate as he carefully wrings out his long hair over the sink, and Zabuza can’t see the clone thing but he can hear crashing off to the side.

How the hell were they beaten by these ridiculous people, Zabuza thinks, and resists the urge to drag his hands over his face.

“We’re not friends,” he tells Gai. “You tied me up and dragged me to this shitty village and I am going to kick your ass for it.”

Gai’s grin, if anything, grows wider. “Yosh, you are clearly full of Youthful Vigor! It warms my heart to see such spirit in my second eternal rival! Shall we have a rematch? Our intense man to man battle starts now!” He drops into one of the fighting poses Zabuza had originally mocked, but by now Zabuza knows better. This guy is terrifying. And not just because of the spandex.

“Not in my apartment, Gai-sensei,” Tenten says almost absently, like this is so common it’s become rote. “And careful where you say that. If Hatake hears he has a rival for your affections, he’ll get jealous.”

Zabuza blinks, then turns to look at Gai again. Just how popular is this bastard?

“You got dipping sauce on your jumpsuit,” Neji says blandly, on his way past with a tray of bowls.

“Ah!” Gai wails, and his hand immediately goes to the zipper of his outfit. “If I don’t get it out immediately, the stain will set!”

There’s a clatter from the kitchen, and the mini-clone skids around the corner exactly like Gai did. “Gai-sensei! I have filled the sink! I will defeat this stain and it will no longer mar the green of our Youthful and manly outfits!”

“Lee! You are going to grow into a great man! One of the Flames of Youth lighting Konoha!” Gai cries, and—Zabuza is pretty sure he’s crying. Those are tears. Backlit by a sunset.

He has no idea what’s going on here.

“You’ll get used to it,” Neji tells him, over the cries of Lee! and Gai-sensei! filling the air.

“Or go mad,” Tenten adds, more cheerfully than is really warranted, on her way past.

Haku edges out of the kitchen, takes one look at the scene, and then clearly decides that Neji is the only safe territory and beats a hasty retreat to practically hide behind him.

Zabuza snorts, though he definitely doesn’t disagree, and turns from staring judgmentally at his apprentice to glace disbelievingly at Gai. He’s just in time to see green spandex go flying, and—

Oh.

Oh.

Zabuza’s hardly a slouch in the muscles department—Kubikiribōchō is an iron sword as tall as he is, and it takes a hell of a lot of strength and a good bit of chakra to use it well. But Gai makes him look like a reedy little genin, and Zabuza already got his ass kicked thoroughly, knows that Gai very well could crush his head like a melon. He hadn’t seen the muscles, though, and that horrible bodysuit hides a hell of a lot.

Zabuza carefully checks that he’s not drooling, tears his eyes away from the way those boxers hug Gai’s truly awe-inspiring ass, and grabs Tenten by the arm as she passes.

The girl’s cunning enough to trip up Haku; she’s definitely his best bet here.

“Who’s this Hatake asshole?” he demands. “A boyfriend?”

Tenten blinks at him for a moment, then tilts her head thoughtfully. “His first eternal rival,” she says, studying him. “They’ve been friends since they were kids.”

Zabuza has a lot of work to do, then. He grits his teeth, then meets Tenten’s eyes. “How much would I have to pay you to run interference?”

Tenten beams, bouncing on her toes. “Swordsmanship lessons,” she says blissfully. “And three new weapons.”

He strangles a groan, but casts a look over her collection anyway. He’s going to have to try really fucking hard to find some she doesn’t already have—her hoard is impressive, especially for a genin. But—

He takes another look at Gai, who’s currently flexing for no apparent reason except fuck that is a pretty picture, Zabuza has not wanted someone to fuck him this badly ever—and then back at Tenten, who’s managing to toe the line between innocent and devilish with all the best qualities of both.

Worth it, he decides without even hesitating.

“Deal,” he says.

Tenten wiggles gleefully. “Weapons!” she says, and practically floats away to keep Lee from destroying her kitchen in his enthusiasm. Zabuza watches her go, then turns at the feel of eyes on him and looks straight into Haku’s slightly horrified and wholly judging stare.

It’s probably a bad sign that Zabuza doesn’t even feel an ounce of shame. He just shrugs helplessly, waving a hand at Gai—still flexing, still glorious—in illustration, and Haku groans and buries his face in his hands.

Zabuza chuckles. Maybe getting dragged all the way from Wave to Konoha won’t turn out to be such torture after all.

I have no objections with people liking Nesta but I don't understand why people would ever want Cassian to get with a woman like Nesta. He deserves someone better than anyone that is set on demeaning him. He is lighthearted and a good person. He deserves better.

Sigh…you got me in quite a mood dear anon so deep breath and rant ahead.

You have been warned.

So…I never understood the concept of love being a reward for someone’s ‘good’ form, character or behavior. And I am not even going to get into the whole glamorization of love as an emotion and the concept that is something solely good and pure and only ‘good’ people and certain ‘characters’ and ‘snowflakes’ experience it or should experience it.

I will stand on something different though.

People are not objects and trophies and prizes that one should get for being good and for deserving ‘better’ (and BTW, I will get to that too in a while).

Relationships are not about deserving and about perfection and about what works on paper. Relationships can come in many forms and bonds and it is about people that find something in someone else and then they work through their shit (and in this case both Nesta and Cassian have a lot shit to work through) because they care enough to make their relationship work. Because you get to fall in love for many reasons and you get to love the flaws and the imperfections. You get to like a person because you are attracted to them for whatever reason logical or illogical. Because they intrigue you. Because of lust or intense emotion. Because they take you by surprise. Because romance usually is about personal conflict and growth and collision. Because in fiction this brings drama and it is interesting for many people especially when it includes complicated characters with many layers and depth that help each other’s characterization progress and development in many ways.

But hey. I get not liking a character or a ship. It is your prerogative. You might not like the chemistry of two characters. You might not get it. You might be allergic to it. You might not care for it. You might not understand it. You might hate it. You might not be able to tolerate the story or a character or a concept. It is your right. I am not here to dictate to you what to like and what not to like. Something is not your cup or tea and your personal taste is different from that of another person. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

But here you are in my ask box. I get not liking a ship but why would you come to the blog of someone that likes it with such comments? What do you gain? Stick to your lane and ship and let others ship.

Also…seriously…I am in awe.

You are here to tell me that the half a millennia winged Illyrian Fae warrior who is basically a LORD OF FREAKING WAR that is leaving mountains of corpses in the battlefields and has been shedding blood for centuries is not deserving of a 20-22 year old woman with limited experience that she is just start beginning to understand what life is after leading a very restricted and limited one. This is what you are telling me right? That the man that brings horror and is capable and able to bring nations to their knees and is known by the freaking Bone Carver as the Lord of Bloodshed is not deserving of a …young girl while he is the winning prize in the lottery for Nesta. Am I getting this right?

The superficial way people view certain characters astonishes me.

Cassian is not a ray of sunshine and not an innocent lighthearted and most of all balanced person. Cassian is one of my most favorite characters in the acotar series (Top Five easily). But he, as many characters of the book, is a grey character that can often be amoral. You don’t get to become THE General of the Night Court and the commander of the Illyrian forces and part of the Inner Circle by being solely moral and good and …nice.

Cassian is dangerous. Like Alpha Male dangerous. He is an experienced man. An experienced OLD man. The fact that he looks hot and young and is energetic with a six pack does not change his age or his position in life or who he is. And if you put that in contrast with a young girl with Nesta’s history that has not even traveled the world yet -while this was her dream- then who ‘deserves’ who can become a very long argument.

Cassian is indeed a good man but he is carrying a load of crap and baggage on his shoulders. He is over half a millennia old. He is a FREAKING GENERAL from crying out loud. The fact that he cracks jokes and is supportive of his family and friends does not take away all the blood he had shed or the scars that has left on him (and he will bring those scars to whatever relationship he enters). It does not take away that the bone carver called him the Lord of Bloodshed. Cassian is a killer. A professional one at that. No matter how noble he is (and he is) that does not change that it takes a certain kind of bloodthirsty savageness and mindset to rise to where he is now. Cassian views fighting and cutting through people as if it is an art. He walks hand in hand with death. He commands the Illyrian forces of the Night Court.

For centuries he is mixed to a dysfunctional emotional triangle with both of his best friends in a way that hurts one of his two brothers -because this is what Azriel is for him- and he is in a complicated mess with Morrigan. He has codependency issues with Morrigan, Rhysand and Azriel. He has shown to have suicidal tendencies (add homicidal to that too). He is not all sunshine and charm and jokes. He goes to the battlefield to kill and to count the dead and inform their families. It takes a certain kind of heart and soul and violence to wage war. To kill people. To do that for half a millennia. He is feared and terrifies his enemies. He has self esteem issues and even depression signs (as surprise surprise so does Nesta). He is haunted by ghosts of the past. He is afraid of commitment. He is menacing. He has sent monsters into the prison of the Night Court. He is ready to cut through his enemies like butter or condemn them to an eternity of imprisonment.

He has lived lifetimes. He has experience both on the light side of life and the dark side of life.

Say what you like about Nesta and her behavior but in the end she is just a..girl. She is not experienced with life or men for that matter. She has been sexually assaulted and sheltered. She wanted to travel but did not got a chance. She is very young and thrown in a life and nature she had not wanted. How old is she really? 20-22? And for you a 22 year old -tops- girl with limited life experience does not deserve a 500+ years old man because that man is somehow an optimist and an extrovert and so good? You are seriously going with that right now?

Because Cassian needs to be coddled and a bitch like Nesta is not a good fit for …him? Because a man needs …deserves…as sweet woman as a reward right? Because a woman has to apologize for everything in her character and become less so to fit the needs of a man because of what he deserves and if not then…she does not deserve him. (My mind’s wires are short cutting right now I kid you not).

If anything it would be more healthy for Nesta to not get involved with a man like Cassian until she has some decades at least on her back and a lot more experience.

Many people say that Nesta is mean with Cassian. And she has bitter outbursts with him that is for sure true up to an extent but no one ever pointed out how Cassian when he first met Nesta had already formed an opinion over her as if he had the right to do so only because his new friend (which he barely really knew) told him (mostly alluded) some things that did not involve him in any way. From the very start Cassian had judged Nesta and played judge and jury with her and had condemned her without even exchanging a word with her. Not even Rhysand that was Feyre’s mate did that.

Nesta was right to tell him that “You know nothing about who I am, and what I’ve done and what I want.

Why wouldn’t Nesta be hostile with him? The guy has boundaries issues. And was quick to judge her. He is a centuries years old persistent (borderline obsessed) Fae male that …can’t stay away. Romance aside let us not start glamorizing certain people and acting as if Cassian is perfect. He is not. He has flaws. There are no saints and sinners in this equation. Nesta has not treated Cassian right all the time but Cassian has not always treated Nesta right either. And if we take their character traits into account this was bound to happen.

Yes Nesta is an asshole. But guess what? Cassian is an asshole too. He taunts, he mocks, he insults, he provokes, he uses his sexual experience as a weapon of choice, he intimidates, his uses his body as a way to make others step back, he throws tantrums, he hides behind jokes, he is reckless, he is hard. In the first sign of true intimacy he backs down and alienates people. He has been all those things with Nesta. He originally was surprised and even took offense because Nesta ignored his good looks for crying out loud. Cassian even in Wings and Embers tried to intimidate her while he barely knew her. A human 22 year old girl that could crash with his little finger while he could tell that she had no experience in physical combat or men. He used his nature, his body, his words to make Nesta less of who she was. To make her feel uncomfortable. His game was less than honorable back then. And when that did not work his infatuation started to run deeper and they both entered a game of push and pull and love-anger/hate and bickering and…understanding.

That does not make him a bad person. He is a good man. A messed up mortally grey good man with honor. In the same way Nesta is also a good woman.  A messed up angry woman with a moral code that for getting to see you need to watch past the surface. A woman that got inspired by Feyre’s and Cassian’s honor and made Cassian proud. A proud woman that has made mistakes but is learning from them and tries to better herself with actions. Something that Cassian sees and respects and maybe even has also done in his long life because everyone starts from somewhere and faces difficulties and trauma in different ways and learns and grows and moves on.

Nesta grew up with the same superstitions Feyre grew up when it came to Fae people. Do you remember how Feyre herself acted with the Fae at the very beginning before she grew to know them? And yet Nesta allowed Fae men to get into her home. Nesta’s interest when it came to Cassian himself surpassed her prejudices before she was even thrown to the Cauldron and turned to High Fae herself.

Nesta was traumatized after been thrown in the Cauldron. And so was Cassian when he had his wings shredded… but he could not stay away from Nesta despite the boundaries she was trying to put between them. It was his choice to go over to her over and over again despite being rejected. No one from the fandom ever speaks of the trauma Nesta had been subjected too and how Cassian’s needs should not surpass her needs over this. But sure.. Nesta is mean so Cassian’s needs must go first. But just maybe this is not about romance or about what a man deserves. This is not about Cassian getting to feel better. And yet somehow this is what it all ends up too.

Introvert vs Extrovert. Young age vs Old age. Man vs Woman. A man that has lived his life to the fullest vs a woman that has not yet lived. Who deserves who.

Does Cassian deserve Nesta? Does Nesta deserve Cassian?

In my opinion who deserves who is a bullshit argument to make for this sort of subject. I can give you a dissertation of why Cassian does not deserve Nesta too. Or why he does deserve her. And vice versa for the other way around.

Truth is that in my opinion they complete each other. It is not just opposites attract. Cassian found an equal in Nesta despite their differences (that are many). Mentally and intellectually they are equal and similar even.

Blade and fire made flesh. Death made flesh. They fit each other.

Cassian is a killing machine and Nesta now holds death in her fingertips. While Cassian always walked in death. But more so aside those parallels that mirror each other they also click as characters.

Cassian shares the same values with Nesta. The same need to protect others. Nesta kept saying how she wanted to help families and children. Cassian has the same view point with her. It is in his very core the need to protect others and this was in the end what Nesta was ready to sacrifice herself for.

Nesta that is so cold on the outside because she feels everything more intense than any other in the inside. Cassian that is so easy going on the outside because he is broken in the inside. Nesta that uses cruel words as a shield. Cassian that uses jokes as an armor. Nesta that hides her emotions and vulnerabilities. Cassian that does the same in different ways. Nesta that is afraid to let others in. Cassian that observes everything both in the battlefield and outside of it. Nesta that scares people. Cassian that is not and could never be afraid of her. Cassian that intimidates people. Nesta that refuses to be intimidated by him. Nesta that throws insults. Cassian that throws tantrums. Cassian that turns his pain to playfulness and his weakness to anger and battle. Nesta that does not allow anyone to see her as weak and turns her rage to ice and her pain to faux indifference and hostility. Cassian that gets his power from his warrior nature and training. Nesta that wants to be empowered and get agency in different ways. Cassian that leans to order and anarchy. Nesta that leans to order and freedom. Nesta that is now the emissary of the Night court. The bridge of the human world with the Fae world trying to balance an understanding between two worlds. Cassian that is always trying to create an understanding between the Illyrians and the rest of High Fae and the man that becomes a bridge when he has a death count in paper and has to inform all the families of the lost. Nesta that her power is now connected with death. Cassian that has been walking in death. Nesta that is too serious. Cassian that is too aloof. Nesta that is too proud and disdainful and willful. Cassian that is arrogant and cocky and prideful. Nesta that is all about manners and propriety. Cassian that is insolent and all about wrecking buildings. Cassian that is serious when needs to be and Nesta that needs to relax and laugh more. Nesta that prefers a book and solitude and Cassian that in silent moments shows a more grounded version of himself. Cassian that people overlook his intelligence. Nesta that people overlook her humanity. Cassian born in a world that does not value bastards. Nesta born in a world that does not value women. Nesta that does not let others in. Cassian that is not making any serious commitments and relationships. Nesta that is so afraid of what she feels for Cassian that prefers to keep him in arm’s lengths using insults and distance and Cassian that is so terrified of what he feels for Nesta that gets completely out of sync when she shows him tenderness and interest. Cassian, the Prince of Bastards, that wanted to find his place in the world and be a man with value despite his heritage and Nesta, the terrible Queen, that after loss and building emotional walls wanted to go out to the world and see what a woman could so and leave her mark in the world. Nesta and Cassian that both dream of a better more equal world for bastards, children and women. The same coin from different sides.

And really this is not about a competition. You do not fall in love with someone that is perfect for you in theory. You get to fall in love with …people. With imperfect people. You get to love them exactly due to those imperfections that make then unique. I cannot stress enough that this is not a matter of what someone ‘deserves’. It is about what someone feels. It is about what makes a heart tick. It could be the most weird combination. It could be insane. And volatile. And easy going or difficult until it aches. In the end it is all about understanding and Nesta and Cassian can understand each in a deep level that is mostly instinctual at this point. It is lust and attraction and sexual tension (like …seriously!) and struggle (because nothing that is worth it comes easy in life) and it is understanding and feeling and silent communication and attraction in all levels.

And guess what… Cassian deserves this. He deserves a person that won’t use him as a sexual object so to get out of predicament and then use him as a shield against his best friend and create conflict in him and in the relationships that define him. Cassian deserves a person that won’t be afraid to stand up against him and with him. That won’t be charmed by his superficial sexiness and distractions. That will be an equal to him. That will shout to him miles away to get him out of danger and he will hear that voice calling him to safety. Cassian deserves a touch. Deserves to fall in love. To have a person that can see when he is hurt. Cassian deserves to get a chance with the woman he is choosing to fight with him and die with him and the woman that he is ready to search to the other life just so to have a chance with her and not regret not spending time with her. The woman that when he in bleeding and unconscious he will try to defend till his last breath. The woman that has a name that he keeps hearing in the wind. Cassian deserves a person that can see beyond his facade. Nesta that understands how dangerous and how noble Cassian is because he sees what others don’t. Because he sees beyond the surface. Because he sees who truly Nesta is. And who Nesta is is someone that Cassian not only wants but would be damn lucky to have. A woman that will stand up next to him and won’t allow anyone to offend him and she won’t judge him for his past. A woman that will surprise him. A woman that will shield him with her body against death itself. A woman that will try to carry him away from danger. And if she can’t help him she will stay with him till the end. She won’t run. She won’t lie. She won’t be dishonest. She won’t see him as a charity case. She will stay for the good and the bad and for hell itself. Cassian has been a bastard that had found family to the inner circle of the Night Court and friends and family but something has always been missing. A sense of true belonging. To have someone stay with him as the world burns and protect him as he protects others. To have someone truly understand him and use honest actions instead of words. Yes Nesta and Cassian are in a clash of wills but also in a clash of hearts.

But sure thing. Cassian surely does not deserve this and I do not get why people like Nesta and Cassian as a ship either.

The bell for the end of the day chimed, and all of your classmates started packing their things up. Mr Singer, your teacher yelled out to everyone that they needed to bring their homework in on Monday or they’d receive no credit. As everyone else rushed to get out of the class, you took your time packing your things up before walking to the from of the class.

“Mr. Singer, here’s my homework.” He looked up at you with a smile on his face as he took it from you. “I just figured I would give it to you now.”

“My star pupil, thank Y/N I’ll be sure to get this graded and back to you by Monday.”

Gunshot (a sneak peek)

So… This was written way back in January (yikes), when I first started to write the mafia au fic 8 Days a Week and only @kawaiilo-ren and a couple other people have seen it. You might think you’ve seen it before, because Kait is a babe and she’s been drawing the amazing comic of this scene (and murdering me along the way).

My plan was to keep this private until it was time to publish it on Ao3 but life is short and I actually like this. People will probably forget by the time it’s published there anyway, oops.

Under the cut because it’s long.

Hospital hall is looking cold and bleak under the fluorescent lights, like it did many hours ago. Yuri doesn’t remember how long it’s been since he left the building but coming back feels like returning from war, maybe. He doesn’t know what war feels like. It must be exhausting, if it resembles this even slightly.

Ignoring his shaking hands is easy, as is turning a blind eye to his pulsating head ache. His body is crashing after riding through the adrenaline waves and he would kill for a nap; but that would make the list of things worth killing for longer and he isn’t sure if he is ready to deal with the paperwork. He isn’t ready to deal with anything yet, he just wants to return the weapon to its true owner and fall into a lifelong slumber.

A/N: you’re so sweet omg and of course it’s a good description! I hope I made it similar to the way you wanted it to be

Kneeling on the cold bathroom floor, your bare legs had goosebumps spread all over your skin, acknowledging the icy tiles. Hair hold back by one of your hands while the other one stabilized your weak body, your forehead collapsed against the toilet stool. Hasty breaths left your slightly open mouth while cold sweat pearled down your face and back.

What is happening to me?

You took a deep breath before sitting up straight enough to not feel like an old grandmother having back problems. Grabbing some pieces of toilet paper, you wiped over your mouth before throwing it into the toilet and flushing it down to God knows where.

Closing the toilet seat, you slowly stood up, turning your body towards the sink, opening the faucet. For a few seconds you let the water run so it could turn completely cold before holding both of your hands underneath it, splashing the icy water into your face. Reflexively, your lungs screamed for air as the cold water hit your face but you just ignored it.

It’s just cold water, calm down.

Grabbing your toothbrush, you brushed your teeth quickly, examining yourself in the mirror in front of you above the sink. Your eyes were encircled by dark bags, skin white as the snow that had already melted away weeks ago. Your hair had lost its healthy shine and just hung there loosely, like overcooked spaghetti noodles.

Sighing deeply, you finished up your cleaning up and walked back into your bedroom, grabbing for your phone. You had to check the calendar before making any overly fast assumptions about your symptoms.

Opening the calendar app, you scrolled back to the last month.

Date of last period: February 16th

Current date: April 17th

Two months since your last period. Two months since mother nature forgot to visit you and make your life horrible. Oh how you wished, Satan had nested in your uterus in those last two months instead of sitting there in that exact moment, wondering how the hell you got into this situation.

“Two fucking months….”, you mumbled to yourself. “I need to get a test.”

With those words being said, you grabbed your keys and coat, storming out of your tiny apartment, down the street to the pharmacy. Strangers pushed their bodies into yours while trying to pass you but you didn’t notice. All you could think of was if you were ready to get some answers. You needed to know why you were feeling so miserable since weeks but at the same time you were scared. Scared that your assumptions would be true and you’d have to tell Yoongi. Scared that he’d flip and leave you alone. So many things could happen and you weren’t ready to figure out what else could ruin your life. But you had to.

Pushing the door open, the smell of disinfectant hit your nose, making you scrunch it in disgust. You never liked the smell of disinfectant. It reminded you of hospitals and that again reminded you of death. Not the nicest connection one could think of. That’s why you tried to stay away from that smell.

Walking up to the pharmacist who looked like she was about to fall asleep any second, you silently prayed that she wouldn’t ask any further questions like aren’t you a little too young to ask for a pregnancy test? where’s the father? do you know who the father is? you should have been more careful, young lady. You really didn’t need that crap right now.

“Excuse me”, you politely asked the woman. “C-can I have one of those pregnancy tests?”, you signaled at the white sticks behind the lady as she turned around to see where you were pointing at. They were the cheapest ones you could see and the only ones you could afford as a college student.

The pharmacist smiled at you and leaned a little closer to you. “Of course, but I wouldn’t recommend those - they’re usually wrong or don’t work at all.”

Then why are you selling them at all? “Oh.. well I guess it’ll have to do, those are the only ones I can afford right now”, you faked a laugh as she handed you the test and you gave her the money. Her expression was pitiful but not judging. More like a mother feeling sad for a child.

“Is there a bathroom around here? I don’t think I can wait until I’m back home”, you mumbled and the lady showed you the way to go.

After finishing your business, you waited in the cabin for the 10 minutes you were supposed to wait, anxiously biting down on your lip.

What if it’s positive? What am I supposed to do? I can’t take care of a baby yet. I can barely take care of myself!

As the 10 minutes went by, you decided that you couldn’t do it. You couldn’t look down at the result by yourself. You needed someone to do it for you. So you walked out of the bathroom back to the pharmacist, who was looking at you questioningly.

“Would you mind- would you mind, telling me what is says?”, you asked hesitantly. “I can’t bring it over myself to do it.”

She smiled at you and nodded. “Sure, turn it around sweetheart, so I can see the bars.”

You turned the stick to her and bit down on your lip hard. Your heart rate increased and nervous sweat started to spread out all over your body.

The lady took a look and then she seemed to struggle with a fitting facial expression. “I don’t know if you’re going to be happy about this new or not, but it’s positive”, she decided to smile at you warmly as your stomach dropped.

“Positive?”, you whispered, looking down on it yourself. There it was. A pink cross. Or plus. Or whatever you want to call it.

“I- it can’t-”, you stuttered as your eyes filled with tears. You didn’t even care to wipe them away at that point.

“Oh no dear, don’t cry”, the pharmacist said. She turned around and grabbed another package, a fancier looking one and discreetly slid it over the table. “Shh don’t tell anyone but here - take this one. These are about 89% of the time right unlike the one you just took. Take it with you and do the test when you’re calmed down, okay?”

You looked up at her and shook your head under tears. “B-but I can’t afford that one.”

The lady smiled at you again and pushed it closer to you. “It’s fine. It’s on the house”, she winked and giggled, making you smile at her thankfully.

“No go, rest and take the test”, you nodded at her words, mouthed a quick ‘thank you’ before rushing back to your apartment.

Maybe you still had a chance.

“What do you mean ‘you’re pregnant’? We always used protection (Y/N)!”, Yoongi screamed in disbelief, brushing his hands through his hair in frustration. “You can’t be pregnant. It’s impossible.”

You rolled your eyes at him and laughed bitterly. “As long as your not sterile and I’m not infertile, I can always get pregnant Yoongi. Condoms can rip and the pill doesn’t work 100%.”

“Fuck!”, he yelled, throwing his phone against the sofa, making you flinch. You had expected him to react pissed or at least not really happy but you never thought, he’d flip like he did.

“Yoongi…”, you approached him, trying to calm him down, needing him to calm down to be calm yourself and not have a complete breakdown.

“Don’t touch me (Y/N)”, he growled.

“But-”

“No ‘buts’! This ruins everything, you realize that right? Everything I worked for so hard these last couple of years. Everything I ever wanted, all ruined because of this fucking mistake”, his voice was as cold as ice as his eyes stared at you, burning not only your body to pieces but your soul as well.

“Yoongi, yes it’s very inconvenient, you can call it a mistake even. But we’re in this together, we can’t change it. But we can go through this together”, you whispered through tears, trying to approach him again. You needed his support more than ever but all he seemed to do was to push you further away.

“It’s not only this pregnancy that is a mistake. This whole relationship was a mistake. I should have never started dating you, then it would have never gotten this far. I would have stayed focused on my work and only my work, not even having the slightest possibility for this to happen. Now what? The fans don’t even know about you! But all of sudden I have a girlfriend and a baby? They’d force me to marry you because we live in fucking Korea and you don’t just get kids without being married yet. My whole life would be ruined!”, by now he was screaming, fuming, running around the house uncontrollably, grabbing things here and there.

His words hit you worse than any weapon could as the meaning behind it sunk in. He thought you were the mistake. You were ruining everything. Everything that was important to him. He hated you in that moment, you felt it.

You sunk to the floor, sobs escaping your lips as tears streamed down your face and your lungs were searching for air. Hysterical sobs left your mouth as your hands covered your face and your body curled up into a tiny frame.

“Yoongi please!”, you screamed out, lifting your head for a second, only hearing him going through your wardrobe in your bedroom. “I can’t do this without you! I’m a broke college student, I’m alone here, I don’t have anybody else but you!”

His figure appeared back in the door frame to the living room, a packed bag slung over his shoulder. “You should have thought about that before starting a relationship with me.”

Hastily you stood up as his body walked past you, towards your front door. Your fingers enclosed his arm, pulling on it, so he would stop. When he did and turned around, you saw the hurt and guilt in his eyes for a second before his gaze turned back to ice. You knew he cared. He cared but he was also impulsive and his impulse told him that his career was more important.

“Yoongi, you don’t want that. You love me. You can’t just leave me like this, you’re more than this awful egoistic asshole”, you brokingly sobbed, still holding onto his arm, eyes begging him to stay.

He shook his head, ripping his arm free from your grip. “I guess you don’t know me that well after all then.”

With that, he pushed you off him, slamming the door shut without giving you one last glance, as you glanced after his figure in disbelief, a deadly pain spreading across your chest and stomach, making you gasp for air as more tears covered your face, leaving physical marks of the pain your were feeling.

Assassin!Harry (Part 3)

Harry is a trained, experienced assassin hired to kill Y/N but ends up, to his horror, falling in love with her.

You can read part one here.

You can read part two here.

——————————————————————————————-

Four months. Harry had managed to keep Y/N in his life for four months. He was a different person; at least, he had Y/N thinking he was. His thoughts still drifted to the macabre, longing for the rush of another kill whenever he wasn’t with her. But she gave him a different, better kind of rush, and he loved it. Harry loved her. However, he didn’t like to admit this to himself. Harry didn’t love anything before Y/N, and part of him wished he still didn’t. The only things he used to crave were murder, violence, careful planning and stalking…but now he craved her. He liked–loved–having her around, he was emotionally attached to something for the first time in his life. But there was just one problem: How long could he keep his real life a secret from her?

He’d received two more payments for assassinations since meeting her. On top of Y/N’s, that left a total of three incomplete missions that Harry desperately wanted to fulfill but knew, deep down, that he never could. He could never pursue another kill again, for Y/N’s sake and for the sake of their relationship. It wouldn’t be long before one of his clients caught up with him, and he knew that. But unfortunately for Harry, he had less time than he thought.

Harry had just finished running his fingers through his messy curls to style them when he heard the lock on his door start to rattle. He’d given Y/N a key last week, and he smiled to himself as he heard her let herself into his apartment. He liked the feeling of having someone in his life to share his home with. Life was easy with Y/N; he didn’t have to try to put on an act to get her. She loved him for who he was.

Or, who she thought he was.

“Hi darling,” Harry said, moving over to Y/N as she closed the door behind her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning in to kiss him. He smiled at her as their lids fluttered open, her gorgeous eyes meeting his twinkling green ones. “How was the daycare?”

“Same as always,” she said, fixing his collar so that it laid flat. “I’ve been helping Mia with her reading, the little four year old I was telling you about? She’s absolutely brilliant, her mom told me today that she read an entire Dr. Seuss book by herself. She’s only four years old and she read a whole book!” Harry’s eyes were intently fixated on Y/N. He smiled to himself as he observed the way the corners of her eyes crinkled when she smiled, the way her entire body seemed to light up when she talked. He had never felt so lucky in his entire life.

“How did life as a secret agent treat you today?” Y/N asked, teasing him, with extra emphasis on ‘secret agent.’

Harry smiled. He felt guilty that Y/N still believed he worked for the government, but he didn’t let the guilt show. He never did. “Can’t tell ya. Hence the secret part. But ’m glad you’re doing so well with Mia. I ordered pizza for dinner, hope that’s alright?”

“Perfect!” Y/N exclaimed, moving over to the sofa by the window. She plopped down, kicking off her shoes as Harry turned to follow her. Just as Harry went to sit down, there was a loud knock on the door.

“Must be the pizza,” Harry said, shuffling towards the apartment’s entrance. “I’ve got it.”

Y/N stayed put on the couch, fiddling with her fingernails, until a chillingly familiar voice sounded throughout the apartment. A voice that had haunted her for years, and had just started to lose its control over her mind. She froze, in shock, before turning to face the doorway, coming face to face with the worst, scariest human being she had ever met: her ex-boyfriend, Jack.

“I want my fucking money, bro,” he yelled, his cold eyes just as angry as she remembered. Y/N ducked next to the couch, immediately trying to hide herself from view. Her head was spinning, throbbing almost. What the fuck was Jack doing at Harry’s apartment?

Harry went into immediate assassin mode. Calm, cool, collected. Voice deep, words slow. Establish the upper hand before this man tried to pull something. “I’m sorry, who are you?”

“Don’t play stupid you asshole. The 50 grand I slid through your window four months ago? I want that shit back. I want it back and I’m going to take care of her myself, since you’re clearly incompetent.”

Harry let out a low, emotionless laugh, though he was a bit frightened. He was so careful to make sure that nobody who had hired him ever got to see his face, but now someone knew what he looked like. He was screwed. “These things take time. If you want your money back, I can get it for you right now, but then the mission goes unfinished. So, what do you–”

“I have a gun,” Jack threatened, shakily. “And I swear to God, I will blow your fucking brains out and hers too as soon as I find her.”

“And risk being caught?” Harry questioned, remaining completely calm, although below the surface he was frantic. Y/N was literally in his apartment. There was no way out of this one. He needed to get this guy away from him, away from Y/N, and then make a run for it.

“You know what? Fuck this. I’m going to the police.” Jack spun on his heel, but what Harry said next caused him to stop dead in his tracks.

“If you go to the police, what are you going to tell them? Huh? That you shelled out $50,000 to have someone murdered in cold blood in your name, and now the hit man you hired has taken too long to fulfill his duty? You’re going to tell them you got ripped off by an assassin?” Jack was silent. “You’re just as guilty.”

An assassin? Y/N’s head was spinning. She was desperately trying to make sense of the exchange going on between her ex-boyfriend and her current boyfriend, but she was making herself dizzy trying to put the pieces together. She felt her eyes well up with tears. If Jack really did have a gun, he would not hesitate to use it on her the second he found out she was there. He was crazy, a loose cannon. She needed to stay hidden.

Jack huffed, running a furious fist through his tangled blonde hair. “Fuck. You.”

“Trust me,” Harry began, levelheaded as ever. “This operation has been made a priority. Murdering someone isn’t an overnight task.”

“Yeah, except you’ve had four months. I’m over this. I’m going to get my guys, and I swear, even if it’s the last thing I do, I will fucking end you. And then I’ll end her myself. The only reason I hired you is because I didn’t want to have any blood on my hands but I don’t give a shit anymore. I may not know anything about you, even your name. But I do know that you are over.” And with that, Jack had taken off running down the hallway, and Harry had slammed the door behind him, his face as red as a fire truck. This was about to come crashing down on him. All of his careful, tedious work and planning…it was all about to be over. He was done for.

He raced down the hall, towards his bedroom. Y/N chased him, confused and angry and shocked and sad all at once. “Harry, what’s going on?” Nothing. He started rooting through his dresser drawers, tossing out fistfuls of clothing and leaving it strewn across the floor. “Do you know him? Do you know Jack?” Still, silence. “Harry, what the fuck is going on? Why does he want you to end me? What does he mean when he says he hired you?” She was yelling now, and the tears were flowing freely. “You’re scaring me. Answer me!”

Harry pulled out a large, bulging yellow envelope out of his dresser drawer, tossing it on the bed. “I have to go.”

“What?” She shook her head, more clueless than she had ever felt in her life.

“Y/N, you love me right?”

“Harry, what are you-”

“You’d love me whether I was sick or whether I was poor or whether I had a different job?”

“Of course, I-” Harry dumped the folder’s contents out on the bed, revealing stack after stack of crisp $100 bills. “Harry, where did you get all that money?”

Harry was frantic, panicking, rushing around like crazy. “We all have our secrets right? What I really do for a job, that’s my secret.”

“What are you talking about? Why are you saying all of this? I-”

“I don’t want to lie to you anymore, Y/N! I can’t. I’m not a-a-a secret agent.” He was at a complete loss for words, struggling to find what to say. “I don’t work for the government, I’m not licensed to have any of those guns you found in that closet all those months ago. And I don’t use those weapons for self-defense like I said. I use them to kill people.”

“Harry, please-” He was running around his bedroom like crazy, shoving things into a duffel bag without hardly looking to see what they were.

“Here’s what’s going to happen. In two days, you’re going to meet me at the International Airport.” He swiped a stack of money off of the bed, handing it to Y/N. “Pack a suitcase with clothes, shoes, anything else you might need. You’re going to take a taxi there, give the driver this money. I know it’s far, so you have to tell him to drive all through the night, and you’re not going to tell anyone, okay?”

She stared at the money in her hands, tears blurring her vision. “Harry, I can’t do this, I’m too afraid, I have no idea what’s going on, I-”

“Act like you’re brave, and you will be. I promise. That man…Jack…he’s going to be back soon. And with a lot of really dangerous people. You have to get out of here before he finds you. I love you, Y/N.”

“Harry, I don’t think I can do this alone.”

“Yes, you can. I know you can.” He grabbed his duffel bag, zipping it feverishly, then bounded towards the front door. “You have to.” He kissed her quickly, before swiping his car keys off the hook and racing out the door.

And just like that…he was gone.

——————————————————————————————-

Every part of her body told her to turn around. As she walked into the airport, her limbs were screaming at her to stop, to chase down the taxi driver that had just dropped her off, and to drive back to her dorm room, away from Harry and every problem that he had caused for her. But, despite all of that, she was worried sick about him. She would follow him to the ends of the earth to make sure he was okay. And that’s why she kept walking. Through the revolving doors, up the stairs, until she reached the security line right outside the gate Harry told her to wait in front of.

From just the exchange she had heard between Jack and Harry, Y/N had pieced a few things together, though they didn’t make much sense to her. Jack had given Harry a lot of money for something involving a ‘her’ that Y/N had assumed she was. Harry had a lot of guns, but he didn’t use them for a government job like he had told her. Jack had referred to Harry as an assassin, but Y/N didn’t know what that meant, entirely. If Harry was accepting money to murder people, like Jack had said, how many people had he killed? And where did she come in? Was it a coincidence that Jack and Harry knew each other? She felt her heart rate flare up and her head grow hot with anger. She felt like she didn’t know the man she loved, and she needed answers.

Just then, Harry came bounding into view, dressed in all black, duffel bag in tow. He leaned in to kiss her, then pulled her into a tight hug, breathing in her perfume, the smell of her hair, everything. Y/N didn’t hug back. She didn’t do anything.

“We don’t have much time.”

“You need to tell me what’s going on.”

Harry rooted through his backpack and pulled out two plane tickets, handing one of them to her. “I bought these an hour after I ran out of my apartment. Our flight leaves in 40 minutes. Grab your things, and-”

She was madder than she had ever been. “Harry, if you don’t stop for two seconds to tell me what the hell is going on, I am going to walk right out of this building and I swear to God I will never talk to you again.”

This was enough to make him stop. He ran his left hand through his hair, bringing it down to rub his face in exasperation. “Fine,” he sighed, speaking gently but hurriedly. “What do you want to know?”

“What are you?”

“I-”

“What. Are. You. You don’t work for the government like you told me. I already have an idea in my head of how you make your living and if you tell me you’re anything different from what I think you are I’m going to need some serious convincing.”

He sighed. He looked at her face, so pained and…disappointed. He hated himself for doing this to her. “Okay, okay,” he whispered, looking over his shoulder to make sure nobody was within hearing range. “People call it different things, but I guess you might call me a hit man. People pay me to kill other people off.”

Y/N felt sick. She honestly thought she might throw up. Her heart surged with anger, and it took everything in her not to spit in his face. Her furious eyes searched his, praying that this was all a joke or a dream or anything other than the reality she had found herself swept away in. “I have no idea who you are. I cannot believe I wasted four months of my life on a figment of my imagination. You are not even close to the person you made me think you were.” She reached to pick up her suitcase, but Harry grabbed her arm, fast as lightning.

“I wanted to tell you,” he continued. Y/N tore her arm from Harry’s grip, but she didn’t try to run away again. She decided she was going to get her answers. “I was just scared you’d hate me. That you’d react…well, exactly like this.” He reached a hand up to the back of his neck, the smooth eloquence with which he usually spoke completely gone in Y/N’s presence.

Y/N was crying now. “Well how the fuck else was I supposed to react? What did you expect?” she shouted. “Bonnie and Clyde?”

“Keep your voice down!” Harry hissed. “You’re going to get us both killed.”

“Oh, well maybe I should keep screaming then,” Y/N said, knowing she was on the brink of a complete meltdown. “Sounds like me being killed would be doing you a huge favor!”

Harry froze. “Y/N, you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Please, Harry. I’m not stupid. My psychotic ex-boyfriend comes barging into your apartment demanding the money he paid to you, a hit man, saying ‘I’m going to end her myself?’ He was talking about me. He hired you to kill me.” Harry was silent. “Just admit it, Harry. Don’t be a coward for once in your life and just say it.”

Harry’s face went slack. His entire body went slack. He felt like he was going to faint. “I…Okay. It’s true.” Y/N whimpered like a sick puppy, and this sound indicative of her heart breaking shook Harry to his core. “But! Y/N, please, let me explain.” She swatted tears away from her face, not saying anything. Harry took this as his cue to go on. He realized that he was running out of time, but he didn’t care. He loved her, and she deserved to know the truth. “The night we met, I had every intention of killing you. But it took about two minutes with you before I realized that I could never, ever bring myself to do it. I knew within two minutes of knowing you that I was going to love you. And I was right, Y/N, because I do love you.”

A quiet sob left Y/N’s lips. She was doing her best not to attract a crowd, but she had never felt so violated in her life. Their entire relationship had been built on a lie. She had fallen in love with a complete and utter stranger. “Don’t tell me you love me when you don’t love anything on this fucking planet.”

“Y/N, that isn’t true! The night we met, I sure as hell wasn’t planning on falling in love. Until I met you, I was a sociopath.”

“You still fucking are,” Y/N sneered, reaching down to pick up her suitcase once more. “God, I cannot believe I actually agreed to meet you here! And I even packed a bag and everything! What is wrong with me? I-”

“Y/N, stop. I promise you that I will give you every single answer you want but only after we’re out of the country. Please. Just pick up your suitcase, and take your ticket, and come with me. I need you.” And he meant it. Jack had for sure found out Harry’s name by now. There was no point to running from the authorities that were surely after him right at that moment if he wasn’t going to be running with Y/N by his side.

“I can’t leave with you! I have a life here, an honest, real, life. How dare you even ask me that!”

Harry was panicking. He needed to be in the security line. “Y/N, please.”

“No.” She wiped a tear from her face, still sick to her stomach. “But you need to go. Jack is psychotic and he has ways of getting what he wants. There are people after you right now, I’m sure of it.”

“Y/N-”

“Go.”

He looked at her, over at the security line, and then back to her. He heaved a heavy sigh, then leaned in to kiss her, more passionately than he ever had in his entire life. Y/N knew she shouldn’t, but she kissed him back. She was the first to pull away, putting her hands on either side of his face. She repeated again, “Go.”

And so he did. He swung his duffel bag over his shoulder and walked through the security line. Y/N watched him the whole time, tears spilling out of her eyes. She watched as he got to the security officer checking his boarding pass, but even though she couldn’t hear their exchange, something about the way the two were interacting gave her a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. Suddenly, two security officers rushed him from the back, each seizing an arm on either side of his body. Without thinking, Y/N bolted forward, running as fast as she could towards Harry.

“Harry!” she cried out, her eyesight completely obstructed with tears.

“No!” Harry shouted as a third security officer grabbed ahold of Y/N’s arms, pinning them behind her back.

“Do you know this man?” the officer demanded. “His name was put on the no-fly list yesterday.”

“I-” Y/N looked over at Harry, who was vehemently shaking his head to say no, no, no, please do not tell that man you know who I am. It was already bad  enough that Harry was going to be carried away for the rest of his life. He would never forgive himself if Y/N got caught up in it too. “No,” Y/N finally said, and the man loosened his grip on her arms. “Never met him.”

“Get out of here, miss,” the guard said. It seemed like everyone in the entire terminal was staring at Y/N and Harry. Y/N took one last look at Harry as he mouthed I love you to her, his face the most clear picture of distress and pain Y/N had ever seen. She turned around, dragged herself over to where her suitcase was, and picked it up in time to see four armed, uniformed police officers round the corner. It took every ounce of her being not to run over and plead with them to be gentle with him, but she knew she had to keep moving. She ducked her head and walked, as fast as she could, away from the terminal to the airport’s exit.

The image of Harry mouthing I love you played on a ceaseless repeat in Y/N’s head. As she walked out of the airport, tears streaming down her cheeks, she swore she could physically feel her heart crush. Because she knew–no, she was sure–that she still loved him. She probably always would.

I have a small request. How would the RFA react to an MC who was just trying to get them to watch their favourite anime(s)??? (All I'm imaging is Seven watching FMA and just going 'wth??')

I’m late, but is that really new :’))

hope you like it!💛

..might have used this one to,,,self insert a little. Spare me, self care is self insert

zen

  • see, mc was in A Mood for a while. where they were really bored and uninspired and as much as zen tried to help out, nothing was really working
  • but then they came across this old anime that used to be one of their favorites
  • “zen, i need to borrow the laptop…I also need you to come with me. and with some snacks”
  • “can i ask..why?” he said, but followed them to the couch anyways
  • “it’s time for some Self Care, hyun.” and he laughed in response, but followed
  • mc promptly put on some shojo anime called Lovely Complex :’))))
  • they were cuddling him the whole time so he kind of had no choice but to watch
  • he found himself laughing along with mc halfway through the first episode
  • by the end of the second one, he asked “babe..how many episodes are there?”
  • “24…why?” “…we can get through this whole thing today”
  • and so they did. mc has to tell him that there’s more in the manga cause he was sad it ended
  • he liked it, he thought it was funny but also really cute. and mc was glad that he did! they watch it whenever one of them is in a slump now
  • ok but his favorite part is the basketball game and he was so mad when risa was asleep dgjbad
  • unironically uses some lines from it just to make mc either laugh or blush

yoosung

  • mc watched all of the show he wanted them to watch, so it was in return for that
  • they decided to make him watch OHSHC, one of their favorites
  • he was…kind of confused during the first episode
  • “so they…they run a ‘host club’ to just…play around?”
  • frankly scared of the twins cause they kind of remind him of the chois
  • “mc, is that jumin in an anime?” - referring to kyoya
  • mc was laughing the entire time, especially when he asked if he was like Honey
  • they did, however, finish the whole series in a day
  • but he ended up liking it a lot! he thought it was adorable!
  • still confused as to what was a host club at the end of the anime, but he still loves it
  • his favorite episode was the beach episode
  • mc had to tell him about the manga cause there’s more
  • and he was like “oh, here’s more content!” “yeah, it’s too bad there’s only one season in the anime…”
  • “wait whY DOES IT ONLY HAVE ONE SEASON?!”

jaehee

  • jaehee said she would watch anything mc wanted…
  • and recently, they’ve been pretty obsessed with haikyuu!! - they needed to get to the s3

  • if she was completely honest, she didn’t really like it at first
  • there was so much,,Yelling. and they were really overhyping volleyball, weren’t they?
  • oh well, she was going to watch at least one season with mc
  • however, started liking it at the aoba josai practice match
  • and really liked it when they got to the practice match with nekoma
  • she ended up catching up to mc at the end of the day

  • she ends up having a blast
  • her favorite characters are either daichi or saeko, though she has a soft spot for yamaguchi

jumin

  • mc had been trying to get him to watch soul eater for a while now
  • just to see what his opinion would be. they thought it would be fun~
  • finally got the chance to sit him down and play it, so they did!
  • poor jumin was so confused at first….and didn’t really like it either
  • “why is that boy turning into a weapon, mc? those two girls turned into guns??” “what’s with all the boobs?”
  • but he did watch the whole thing
  • found it..interesting. not one of his favorites, but he’d watch it again
  • really liked the part with Soul and Maka and the little devil thing (god its been a long time spare me)
  • also the part with tsubaki and her brother
  • thinks its cute how excited mc gets when they get to certain parts
  • death the kid lowkey reminds him of his high school phase and he’s embarrassed to admit that to mc
  • it also takes them a while to finish, since he’s so busy
  • at first, mc thinks he just really doesn’t like it and tries to avoid it
  • but he does want to finish it! he doesn’t like seeing things halfway through
  • is really glad when they do finish it. he thinks it was a nice ending to the anime (but then he found the manga…)

707 / luciel / saeyoung

  • mc was determined to make saeyoung watch fullmetal
  • he just didn’t want to because there were so many parts to it and he didn’t know where to start
  • so they started from the beginning. the first series
  • and he was so confused at first!
  • not cause of the alchemy thing but because of where this was going to go plot wise
  • but then he was sucked into it
  • really likes edward because part of him relates
  • says he’s edward and alphonse is saeran
  • was surprised when it started getting..really deep
  • and at this point, begged mc to show him all the other parts
  • so it was a whole binge watch session. they didn’t leave the house unless absolutely necessary
  • loved it even more when they found the outtakes and brings them up at the most random times
  • mc and 707, casually eating cereal: “let’s look at the door.” | every time saeyoung has to stop saeran from doing something: “i’m trying to save your life, asshole!”
  • and his favorite(that saeran actually participates in) - him: “mc wanted me to tell you they’re making stew tonight!” saeran: “Fuck yeah!”

v / jihyun

  • jihyun asked them to watch something heartwarming and cute
  • and the first thing that popped into their head was yuri!!! on ice
  • plus it was short, so it seemed like a good choice
  • he automatically thought the ice skating was astounding. like, victor’s first performance alone got him hooked
  • “wait, is he that character everyone thought i looked like at one point?” he asks
  • but anyways, he really likes yuuri. but also likes guang hong
  • the small gasp he made when Episode 7 Happened was the most amazing thing mc has ever heard
  • the ‘yuri on ice’ performance really is his favorite one. agape comes at a close second
  • actually clapped when The Rings came into play
  • “is that it? is there only 12 episodes?” he asks, mc nods sadly
  • “next level?? mc what is ‘next level’?” they don’t even know
  • “…if people think that I look like victor, should i cosplay him?” “jihyun-”
  • it was exactly what he needed though. something cute and heartwarming
  • he’s super excited for next season

also idk  but it really took me long to write this and it’s so short….. omg kill me

‘Perfect. Fucking perfect.’

[Y/N] was going to be late. Thanks to her alarm. She knew that shit is going to broke sooner or later and she didn’t do anything about it.

She would’t even care but today was Monday and her first class on Monday was English.

She despised her English teacher. He was an asshole. Always making rude comments about her and the other girls.

‘[Y/L/N] why do you look so sad? Smile, kid! You look so pretty with that smile!’

‘[Y/LN] what’s with that stupid smile? You’re supposed to read something!’

He was so annoying.

[Y/N] realized she’s already late anyway, so why should she bother? She wanted to have a proper breakfast.

After doing her morning routine she grabbed a backpack, keys and left the apartment.

Ugh. It was snowing.

As she peacefully walked on the iced streets of Gotham, she checked the time and she couldn’t believe herself. This is what you get when you “shouldn’t bother”.

[Y/N] was going to be late. Again. To her second class.

So she did the only think she could think of.

She ran.

When [Y/N]’s feet met the slippery bridge, she didn’t slow down. She knew it was very risky but she could’t be that late, she would be in trouble!

She thought she’s going to be just fine because she was already in the middle of the construction but oh boy, how naive she was.

Then she was running and now she wasn’t.

Her face was in the snow..

Yes, she slipped.

[Y/N] groaned and was about to start getting up but she heard a laugh.

Quite maniacal one.

It was a male, he sounded young. She didn’t want to see him, she was to ashamed to show him his face.

It was obvious that her fall looked hilarious but seriously, she could have hurt herself!

Now she was mad at this guy.

Still too embarrassed to get up though.

So poor [Y/N] laid there until she heard the person walking away still giggling a little.

‘Wow. What an asshole.’ She thought and finally stood up.

She arrived to school after her English class. She made it right on time.

At least she didn’t have to confront her teacher.

Classes passed by very quickly, thanks to [Y/N]’s five friends.

They were supposed to grab something to eat and go to the movies. [Y/N] loved cinema.

As the laughing pack left the building they heard an explosion and people screaming. Just around the corner.

“What was that?!”

“I don’t know, let’s check it out!”

‘Very fucking smart..’ Thought [Y/N] but didn’t say anything.

Now while walking in the direction of even louder screams she seriously wanted to say something. It really wasn’t a good idea to go there, now with everything happening with Jerome Valeska being alive and his cult–

–And the penny drops.

‘That laugh. It was him!’

When running people started to pass them by she stopped in her tracks.

“Okay guys, this is very stupid of us. We really shouldn–”

“My, my, what do we have here?” Somebody cut her off.

The group slowly turned around to meet Jerome Valeska, in the flesh, standing there and smiling madly at them.

‘Oh no…now we’re screwed’

As they stared at him, too afraid to run, a school bus pulled up.

Those lunatics. Those lunatics from his cult were in this bus.

[Y/N] could’t take a good look from her position but it seemed like all of them were ugly men with clown make up on their faces, holding weapons.

Jerome started to laugh darkly as he saw the fear in their eyes.

“Come on children, the bus is hereee! Now, get in or..” He targeted his gun at them.

“..die.”

Scared pack could only nod, expect [Y/N].

“Alrighty then…” She spoke, wanting to play it cool. She didn’t want to give him satisfaction of her shaking in fear.

All of her friends were already in the bus, probably sobbing and not knowing what to do.

[Y/N] really wanted to save her ass, so she started to think about the plan.

The moment she was about to step into the bus, passing Jerome, [Y/N] flirtatiously smiled at him, kinda praying he’s not gay. Her plan was to use her looks to save herself. She didn’t expect anything just yet, she didn’t even have a full plan, it was all so spontaneous.

When their eye contact broke she heard him say “C'mere, Angel.”

A little shocked [Y/N] skipped to him and gave him a small smile.

She felt him put an arm around her waist.

“We can’t let you fall and hurt yourself again, can we?”

Now she was sure it was him laughing at her earlier. Douchebag.

[Y/N] only nodded as she let him hold her waist and sensing him entering the bus right after her.

Then she felt somebody hitting her head with something hard and she fell straight on the bus floor knocked out.

“Rise and shine, Beautiful..” A hot breath on her ear was present as she started to wake up.

Her vision more clear now, so she could see she’s been lying on the hard floor, and noticed the Ginger hovering over her.

She whined because her head hurt like hell.

Jerome’s face softened as he caressed her cheek.

“I’m so sorry about it, Doll. That idiot who did that to you is already dead.”

He helped her to stand up and took her to another room of wherever they were.

What [Y/N] saw before her was absolutely terrible. Her friends tied to the chairs, crying in pain. Three psychos torturing them.

When they saw Jerome coming in, they left the room one by one, still laughing.

“Alrighty!” He shouted smiling widely at her almost lifeless friends and then turned to [Y/N].

“Listen [Y/N]..” She wasn’t even surprised he knew her name.

“When I saw you for the first time.. I knew you were just like me. Different. What I’m saying is, join me. You can be my queen of hearts. Well, more like of my heart. I know you feel the same about me, Doll Face.”

Okay, this is crazy. [Y/N] wanted to play with his mind and make him think that she likes him because she wants to be alive. Nothing wrong with that.. but she wasn’t prepared for something like this, for God’s sake. It’s not her fault nobody ever loved Jerome this way. Or at all.

What is he gonna do to her friends?!

“What about my friends?”

“Thought you’re not gonna ask! That’s the funny part, Darling!”

“..What?”

“You’re going to kill ‘em! Bang! You don’t need ‘em do you?! I’m everything you need!”

[Y/N] forgot how to speak English. She started to pray this is all a cruel joke or better - a nightmare.

“Are you crazy?! I’m not doing this!”

“Yes. You. Are.” She could tell he was angry.

He pushed a gun into her hands.

“You’re doing this, Lovely. Now.”

She targeted the gun at them, shaking like mad. She didn’t want to do this.

“Pull the trigger.” He hissed.

Too many emotions. [Y/N] was so nervous she started to sob, look on her friend’s faces not helping at all. Hopeless like they were expecting her to do it..

Now Jerome was seriously annoyed and bored.

“Guess I have to kill all of you now…”

He shot her friends in the head and dropped the gun. He took out his knife and just as he was about to hop in her way–

–There was a shot “GCPD! You’re surrounded!

And then she realized. She didn’t even flinch. She still had a gun pointed at their direction. She was too shocked to do anything.

This is so stupid.

So stupid.

“Amazing job, Honey!”

Oh no.

No.

Stupid.

He did it on purpose.

One month later, Arkham Asylum

‘’[Y/N]! How is my favourite inmate doing?” said Jerome, squeezing her hard.

She pushed him off and didn’t say anything.

“Awww, c’mon Baby, you can’t possibly be still mad at me? I did it for our love!”

Great. Now she was stuck with him in this crazy place.

At least they had their love.. Right?

chapter 2

He stared at you from the shadows, his hands twitching in excitement as you pulled the trigger, blood splattering on your uniform and face. He trailed his finger over his face covered by the plastic mask, gulping loudly, “How beautiful….” The man leaned forward to get a better look at the dark haired female. However, he shrunk back in fear of getting caught as she turned around, wiping her gun that had drops of blood splatter on it.

The tall man gave her, you, one last regretful look before turning around, leaving the crime scene in dejection.

“Until next time, love.”

“Y/N, get out of there, the guards will be back in the building in ten minutes,” you heard your twin brother’s grumpy voice from the earpiece. You responded with a low hum, quickly putting away your gun, giving the dead man one last kick before lazily walking away from the rooftop, your crime scene for the night.

Part 1

I must have seen the video at least 30 times before I decided that it was real. I slowed down the video by carefully dragging my thumb across the screen, trying to find a flaw in the editing -but this seemed authentic; he couldn’t possibly fake all of it. This was all just hard to believe.

Was he out fighting crime right now? Is that why I heard sirens in the background?

All this time, it was Peter Parker who helped protect Queens. The same Peter Parker who fought the Avengers and defeated the Vulture guy a couple of months ago.

He’s just a kid, how is he capable of doing this? How can he balance school life and fight crime? What about that Stark intern-

I audibly gasped when I realized that the Stark internship he talked about was probably a cover for being freaking Spider-Man!

I heard scratching at my door and knew immediately that Buddy wanted to come into my room. I got off my bed and opened my door. Right when I opened it, Buddy ran to my bed and made himself comfortable, panting loudly. I gently closed the door and joined him on the bed. Looking back at the phone, I mindlessly pet Buddy.

“Okay,” I said finally. “If I’m supposed to believe all this, I should do some investigating. Like Sherlock does,” I said to Buddy. He merely blinked at me, trying to lick my hand. “I can solve this case, right Bud?” I cooed, ruffling up his ears.

“Sweetheart! Dinner’s ready!” my mom called from the dining room.

Buddy perked up at the sound of my mom’s voice and ran to my door.

“Traitor,” I muttered, following Buddy to free him from my room. Once I opened my door, Buddy ran to the living room as if his life depended on it. Rolling my eyes, I trudged behind. I patted my jeans to make sure the phone was still there; I kept Peter’s phone in my pocket so that Michael couldn’t get to it. I sat down at the dinner table, mentally planning out my next move.

“Your dad told me you got your tickets, isn’t that exciting?” my mom chirped, serving herself some food.

I served my own plate and said, “Mmhm.”

“Calm down honey, you don’t want to get too happy now,” she said, quirking an eyebrow at me.

I smiled slightly and said, ”I am excited, really, but the concert isn’t for another couple of months, you know? I’m just tired anyway.”

“You wouldn’t be so tired if you slept early, like I always tell you to,” my mom scolded, taking a bite.

“It’s cause you’re always on that phone,” Michael said, in a teasing voice.

I laughed, “Shut up Mike.”

“Got a head ache?” he asked me.

“It’s cause you’re always on that phone,” I finished, chuckling.

He lightly laughed back and said, “You don’t even have your phone though.”

I narrowed my eyes at him as he ate, realizing that I now had to explain to my parents why I didn’t have my phone.

“You lost your phone?” my mom exclaimed.

“Again?” my dad added from the living room.

“No, I didn’t lose it. I know exactly where it is,” I said, sipping my water.

“Not here,” Mikey snickered.

I kicked him under the table and mouthed, “Shut it.”

“Where is it?” my mom asked.

I waved my hand absentmindedly and said, “I accidentally took my friend’s phone and vice versa.”

“What friend?” my dad asked, lowering the volume on the TV.

I knew I couldn’t say it was Peter’s, because God forbid I talk to boys, so I said, “Michelle’s.”

My dad nodded, satisfied with that answer, resuming his attention to the basketball game.

“Oh, so you’ll just switch back at school then?” my mom added.

“Yup,” I said, popping the “p.” “But maybe we’ll meet up over the weekend or something if she wants it back sooner, I don’t know yet.”

I continued eating until I felt the phone vibrate. I got startled and slightly choked on my water. “Speaking of Michelle, that must be her. I gotta take this, dinner was great Mom!” I rambled, grabbing my dishes as I left the table to throw them in the sink -careful not to break any. I vaguely heard my mom telling me to slow down as I sprinted to my room, hastily answering the call.

“Hello?” I breathed, closing my door.

“Y/N?” Peter asked.

I inhaled sharply and let out a breath, trying to even it out. “Yeah,” I said, going to sit down on my bed.

“Is this a bad time?” he asked, uncertain.

“No, it’s a great time I was just, um, out on a run. With my dog. Buddy. Just came back, so, that’s why I sound out of breath,” I chuckled nervously.

Why did I tell him I went out for a run? I’m not athletic. God, this is so bad.

“Oh,” he said, “that’s nice. It’s a good day for a run, I suppose.”

“Yeah, I run all the time,” I lied. “You know, from my problems and stuff. I just decided to switch it up today,” I added dumbly.

I got a laugh from him and I smiled as he said, “That’s a good one.”

“Thanks,” I replied, “sooo…what’s up?” I got up from my bed and walked around my room.

“Oh, um, I was just calling back to apologize for earlier. I got caught up with the Stark internship,” he explained.

Right. The “Stark internship.” Time to investigate.

How is that, by the way?” I asked, “the internship, I mean.”

“Th- the internship? Oh, it’s, uh, great! Keeps me real busy,” he stumbled.

“I could only imagine, I mean, it’s run by Tony Stark -Iron Man himself, right?” I prodded.

“Ye-yeah, Mr. Stark is great. I don’t see him directly, too often, but, he’s definitely great from the few times that I met him,” he said, sounding nervous.

“What does he have you do?” I asked innocently.

“He has us do lot’s of paper work, you know, the boring stuff,” he said. “It’s not that interesting if I’m being honest, you wouldn’t wanna hear about it.”

“Try me,” I said smirking.

“Um, well, some of the paper work is classified so I can’t exactly talk about it,” he explained.

Damn it, he got me there.

“Ah, well, that’s okay,” I said, quickly thinking of something else to ask. “Have you met any of the other Avengers while you were there? Like, that new one, the Spider-Man guy?” I asked, anxiously waiting to hear his answer.

“Spider-Man? Um, yeah, we’ve met. A few times,” he said, sounding unsure of himself.

“I bet he’s so cool in real life, huh?” I asked.

“Yeah, he’s pretty awesome. I mean he single-handily took down a villain who used high-tech alien weapons, so, I’d say he’s cool,” Peter said, sounding cocky.

“I heard he has a weird voice though, is that true?” I lied.

“Wh- what? No! He doesn’t have a weird voice, where’d you hear that?” he exclaimed, his voice rising.

I bit my lip to hide my smile, “Oh, you know, here and there.” I picked at my nails and then said, “People talk.”

“You don’t seriously believe he has a weird voice, do you?” he asked.

“Mm, I don’t know. Maybe. I also heard he was rude to some people who wanted a picture of him,” I said, making up things as I went.

“What!” he exclaimed, his voice rising a pitch higher. He cleared his throat then said, “That never happened.”

“Yeah,” I exclaimed, “shot a web at the camera, and everything!”

Peter scoffed, “I don’t think Spider-Man would do that.”

“Who knows,” I added, “it’s not like we actually know him right? He could be a total asshole in real life for all I know.”

“He could be,” Peter reluctantly said. “But I, I think he’s an okay guy. Maybe you’ll get to meet him and see for yourself?”

“That’d be sick, but, I highly doubt it,” I sighed, playing along.

“Who knows, right?” Peter mused. “I think you could find him around Queens or something doing superhero stuff.”

Or at the library studying for a Spanish quiz, I mentally added.

I chuckled slightly, “People don’t just run into superheroes, Peter.”

“Keep an open mind, Y/N,” Peter chuckled. “Hey, what are you doing tomorrow?”

Peter caught me off guard with his sudden change in topic, “Um, nothing much? I was going to return a book to the library and then just chill or something.”

“The one on 21st?” he asked.

“Yeah,” I said, not really sure why he was suddenly interested in this.

Maybe he’s purposely changing the subject away from Spider-Man.

“Cool, how about, we meet there? Tomorrow? At noon? We can exchange phones then,” he offered.

“Oh, right, yeah,” I said, forgetting we had to actually plan a meet up. “Works for me,” I confirmed.

“And, uh, I didn’t look through your stuff, if you’re wondering,” he chuckled.

“Me either, if you were wondering, as well,” I said, swallowing my guilt.

I am a terrible human.

“But you did get a text from MJ,” Peter said, “not that I purposely read it -I mean -I couldn’t help it, it just popped up, you know?”

“That’s okay Peter, I don’t mind.” I said, feeling even worse.

I can’t keep lying to him

“Um, something did happen though,” I said, wincing.

“What?” he asked, confused.

“With your phone,” I hesitantly said.

“Something happened to my phone?” Peter asked.

Should I just come clean? I still have time to back out.

“My brother…” I started, “dropped it. I asked him to hand it to me, but I didn’t have…good reflexes. And I’m really sorry.”

Not a total lie? I do have bad reflexes…

“Oh,” Peter sighed, “that’s okay, I don’t mind a scratch or two.”

Oh my god -I am a terrible person. How can I just lie to Peter like this?

“Yeah, I just felt really terrible about it, I thought you should know,” I said, closing my eyes at how dumb I was.

“Y/N, it’s totally fine! Don’t worry about it, really, I’m okay with it,” he said reassuringly.

I hate you Peter Parker, you good human being you. Oh, who am I kidding, I hate myself.

I sighed, “Actually, it’s not fine. I need to tell you something else.”

“What is it?” he asked.

Right as I was about to confess my sin, the phone started to vibrate. I took it away from my ear and saw that I, or Peter, was getting a call from an unknown number.

“Um, hold on, you’re getting a call from an unknown number, I’ll just answer it real quick and see who it is,” I said, thinking nothing of it. Vaguely hearing Peter protest, it was too late as I hit the green button. Not getting a chance to even say “hello,” there was a man’s voice already talking.

“Yo, spiderling, I made some minor upgrades to the prototype suit I’ve been working on. You don’t need to thank me right away, but I do believe some praise is due,” he said. “You’re welcome, by the way.”

Oh my god, it’s Tony Stark.

“Kid?” he asked after hearing my lack of reply.

“Um, Peter’s not here right now,” I said, weakly.

The line went quiet for a few seconds until I heard, “I’m sorry, and, who’s this?”

“Peter’s,” I paused, thinking, “friend.”

Can I even call myself that?

“Well. You can disregard this whole phone call. But. Where exactly is Peter?” Tony asked.

“Um, home? We switched phones by mistake,” I explained.

“Great, and seriously, ignore this phone call. It never happened,” he said, before cutting off the call.

I kept the phone pressed against my ear, stunned at what just happened.

Peter really is Spider-Man. This just confirmed everything.

“Hello? Y/N? Are you there? Did you answer the call?” Peter asked, sounding worried.

I cleared my throat before responding, “Um, yeah, I’m here.”

Peter stayed quiet and then tried to casually ask, “So, um, who was it?”

“It was…” I hesitantly said, “Tony Stark.”

“Oh, Mr. Stark called me?” he nervously laughed, “that’s weird. Why would Mr. Stark call me at this hour? What did he, uh, what did he say?”

“Actually Peter, I have to go right now, but, I’ll tell you about it tomorrow, okay?” I sighed. I just really needed to sleep; too much had happened today for me to process.

“Really? Do you have to go right now? We can stay up and talk some more? I mean, it’s Friday, I’m not too busy,” Peter said, trying to stay on the line.

“I’m really sorry Peter,” I whispered, feeling overwhelmed with guilt. “I’ll explain everything tomorrow, I promise.”

“Um, yeah, okay. No big deal,” he said, trying to sound cool about it. “I’ll see you tomorrow then.”

“Yeah,” I said, “tomorrow.”

I heard Peter say goodbye and then I hung up.

I couldn’t stand to hear his voice anymore. Under different circumstances, I would love nothing more than to hear Peter talk all day, but right now, I was lying to this sweet, dorky guy who didn’t deserve this. I clutched the phone to my chest and closed my eyes.

“What have I done,” I whispered.

I woke up the next morning, dreading what was to come. I had to face Peter and I was not mentally prepared to do that.

Looking in the mirror as I applied my mascara, I hated my reflection. I mean I looked good, but, I hated my inner self right now. I hate that I invaded Peter’s privacy and found out something that I shouldn’t have. Now I have to go and explain what an awful person I am to my crush -who will literally hate me when he finds out what I did.

Once I was ready to leave, I grabbed my book-bag and told my dad I was heading out.

“Call me when you get there, okay?” he reminded me.

“Yeah, I will!” I called out as I closed the front door. I made my way down the stairs of our porch and walked to the train station. I texted Peter a quick message saying I was on the way there, not looking forward to this at all.

On the train, I mindlessly looked around, waiting to get to my stop. It wasn’t until I heard a distant scream that I snapped out of my thoughts.

What the hell was that?

The rest of the passengers looked confused too, and we all looked to the right where the scream had come from. I heard two loud bangs on the car over, followed by a chorus of screams. Everyone dropped to the floor and I saw two armed men point guns at the passengers. They were yelling something, but it was muffled due to the distance. Everyone in this passenger car dropped to the floor as well, and with shaky hands, I did too.

Oh my god, please tell me this isn’t really happening. What do I do?

My hands immediately went to my phone, ready to call 911, or even say goodbye to my family when I realized that there was an alternative option.

Peter

I hastily pulled out Peter’s phone, trying to unlock it with my trembling fingers. I managed to dial my number, and held the phone up to my ear. I anxiously waited and kept looking up to make sure the gun men didn’t see me or walk in here yet. This was the car at the end of the train, so hopefully they won’t get here so soon.

“Hey Y/N!” Peter happily chirped, “I saw your text, don’t worry, I’m on my way-”

I cut off Peter, whispering, “Peter, help me, please.”

“Y/N? What’s wrong?” he asked, sounding worried.

“I- I’m on the train that’s heading to 21st street. It’s, it’s Train B. We’re -there’s, there’s some guys -” I was cut off by a huge screech. Someone hit the emergency stop on the train and we all got tossed to the left. The phone skidded out of my hands and I whispered, “Shit, shit, shit,” I crawled towards it, realizing I had to move fast.

“What was that? What’s going on?” Peter said, sounding out of breath. I think he was running. “Y/N? Are you there, are you alright? Talk to me, Y/N, please.”

“They stopped the train,” I whispered, looking around. “And they have guns.”

“I’m on my way, don’t hang up okay, just, keep talking to me. Tell me everything you see, everything you can, I’ll get some help, I promise,” he said, in an assertive voice.

“I’m so sorry Peter,” I rambled nervously, “I am so so sorry. I, I saw the video.”

If I’m going to die, I want to tell Peter the truth.

“Why do you keep saying sorry? What video?” Peter breathed as I heard rustling in the background.

“The video on your phone about going to Berlin. I know Peter, I just, I know,” I sighed. I heard another bang and flinched. With a trembling voice, I whispered softly, “I’m sorry.” I closed my eyes and tried to maintain calm.

I’m going to die here

“None of that matters anymore -I don’t care about that right now, okay Y/N? It doesn’t matter, I forgive you. Just, keep talking. Stay on the line. Tell me what you see, it’ll be okay, I’m on my way to you,” he replied.

I took a deep breath, composing myself. “Okay,” I sighed, leaning up to see the train car next door. “They’re lining people up against one side of the train. There’s two of them in there, there could be more, I don’t, I don’t know,” I numbly said.

“You’re doing great, just keep talking. I’m almost there,” he said.

I saw one of the men look towards our car and head to the door that separated us. “Fuck, fuck, no no no,” I said, starting to panic even more.

“What? What is it?” Peter exclaimed.

“He’s coming, I don’t know if i can keep talking Peter,” I whispered, “I’m not going to hang up but please hurry.”

I couldn’t hear Peter’s reply as I shoved the phone in my jean jacket’s pocket. The man barged in and yelled, “Everyone move to this side and stay down!”

He motioned us to move against the opposite side, and people did so, whimpering in fear. I took deep breaths and did as we were told. I looked around at the other passengers and saw that there was children with their mothers, hiding their cries. There were also kids my age, and even some elderly people.

I don’t want any of them to die

For the most part, it seemed like we all mutually agreed to do what the man said -there were no protests from any of the passengers. There was, however, an older woman who was crying and mumbling prayers in Spanish on her knees.

“You!” the man harshly yelled, aiming the gun at the woman. “Shut the fuck up and get down.”

She merely closed her eyes tighter, and kept praying, tears slipping down her face.

Lady please just do what he says, I mentally pleaded.

She remained unmoved, and I whispered to myself, “C’mon lady.”

The fact that she didn’t submit irritated the man, so he yelled at her, “Did you fucking hear me?” He stalked closer to her.

I sighed to myself and quietly muttered, “Don’t do it Y/N, don’t do it. Don’t do anything stupid, just mind your own business.”

The gun man, seemingly impatient, only got angrier at her lack of compliance. He aimed the gun at her head, ready to pull the trigger, and yelled, “You have three seconds before I-”

“No, wait!” I cried out, before I could stop myself.

Too late

I sat up on my knees and raised my hands in surrender when he aimed the gun at me instead. Swallowing my fear, I pleaded, starting to stand, “Don’t shoot her, please, she’s just -she’s just praying.”

I stared at the barrel of the gun, physically frozen in fear. I couldn’t move, but I had a million thoughts running through my mind.

“I don’t give a shit what she’s doing kid. Tell her to stop, or I’ll put a bullet through both of your heads,” he angrily muttered, not once taking his aim off of me.

I swallowed thickly and with a trembling voice, I quietly replied, “I’m, I’m not that good at Spanish, sir.”

“What did you say?” he spat at me, stepping closer.

I held back a whimper and repeated myself, “I-I can’t tell her to stop, I, I don’t know much Spanish.”

Glaring at me, he pressed the barrel of the gun against my forehead, “Listen here you little bi-”

I closed my eyes tightly, and held my breath.

This is it. This is how I die. I just had to open my stupid mouth-

My thoughts were cut off when I heard a huge crash, and glass breaking from behind me. I visibly flinched, and reacted by dropping to the floor, covering my head in the process. I stayed crouched down, quickly moving out of the way and could hear gun shots. They weren’t aimed at me, however, they were being aimed at something behind me.

“Hey buddy! You made me miss my train!” I heard a voice shout.

Sneaking a glance, I saw that the man was now fighting Spider-Man, trying to shoot him. At each gun shot, I flinched, but was relieved when Spider-Man managed to kick it out of his hands. Spider-Man somehow dodged every hit, saying witty comments that I couldn’t focus on, and knocked the gun man out cold. He didn’t have much time to relax because two more guys ran in here to fight him as well. Now ignoring the passengers, the men were focused solely on Spider-Man. The people on the train screamed, and scrambled to get to the other car seeing that the gun men were all in this one instead. I tried to follow them, but with everyone pushing to get to the front, I was left at the very back -along with the old woman. She didn’t have the strength to shove people out of the way, so I led her in front of me, gently encouraging her. I turned back to see Spider-Man shoot a web at one of the guys, and roughly pulled it towards him. The guy’s body made contact with the steel pole in the middle of the train, and with a final grunt, he was down.

Ouch

I turned my attention back to the old woman, and saw that we both made it through the doors. Seeing as I was the last person in, I hastily went to close the doors. People kept moving up the train, determined to put as much distance between themselves and the fight. I followed the crowd, looking back whenever I could to make sure that Spider-Man was alright. I saw him webbing up the gun men, and stopped walking before I made it to the other car. I turned to see the passengers, and they kept going forward, but I slowly broke from the crowd and headed back to where Spider-Man was. With my ears ringing, and my heart rate racing, I tried to stay focused on the red and blue figure who was tying up the gun men to the pole. I opened the doors, and he turned to look at the source of the noise.

“Peter?” I whispered.

He stopped what he was doing and breathed, “Y/N.” He ran up to me and hugged me tightly.

My eyes watered, and I closed them, letting out a shaky laugh, “Oh my god. Peter.” I wrapped my arms around him and tried to calm down.

“Are you okay? You’re shaking,” he said, pulling back. “That was a dumb question, of course you’re not okay, but you’re fine, right? They didn’t hurt you?”

“I’m, I’m okay. I think. Physically okay, at least,” I rambled nervously. “Can you just take me home, please?”

“Yeah, yeah,” he said guiding me out of the train. We left through the end of the train where Peter crashed in, and he helped me step over the glass, holding my hand to help keep me up. “Can you walk? I don’t think you should walk, here, hold on,” he said, picking me up bridal style instead.

I gasped in surprise, not used to the feeling of being carried in such an intimate way. Again, in any other circumstance, I would enjoy this -but I was still in shock. I heard police sirens in the distance and realized that it was all going to be okay. I was safe. Those children were safe. That old lady was safe. Peter was safe.

Peter continued to carry me until we made it out of the station, and I hid my face in his chest; I focused on his heart beat and tried to calm my own breathing to match his. The whole way, Peter whispered reassuringly to me, and it helped me feel better. He told me to hang on tight, so I wrapped my arms around his neck and held on tighter. Gasping slightly, I could feel that we were no longer on the ground. I could feel the wind whip around me; it almost felt like I was on a roller coaster with a lot of sudden drops. I closed my eyes, waiting for us to land on solid ground.

When we did, Peter said softly, “You can open your eyes now.”

I slowly did so and looked around to see where we were. I was definitely not at my house, but it was a nice view. “Where are we?” I asked. It looked like were on some rooftop that overlooked Queens.

“I know you wanted me to take you home, but, I thought we should talk a little before I take you back,” he said, adjusting his grip.

“You can put me down now,” I whispered, looking at the eyes of his mask.

He cleared his throat, “Are you sure? You okay to stand?”

“I think so,” I replied.

He let me down gently, and I swayed a bit to the side, my legs almost giving way.

“Whoah, okay there Bambi, let’s just have you take a seat over here okay?” he slightly chuckled, guiding me to a spot on the floor.

“That was my first time flying first class, so I’m a bit shaky,” I tried joking.

He let out a breathy laugh, but then got quiet. “How are you holding up?”

“I’m not holding anything up,” I said, taking his question literally so that I could avoid giving a serious answer. I looked up to him and saw that he wasn’t amused, so I sighed. “I thought being pointed at with a gun was scary enough, but then,” I paused, “then he just pressed it against me and I, I couldn’t move -I couldn’t breathe. He was going to shoot me. I know he was. I was about to die if you didn-”

“Hey, hey, hey,” Peter whispered, “you weren’t going to die, I wasn’t going to let that happen.”

“But, I was!” I exclaimed, my voice rising, “I was going to die, Peter! If you didn’t answer the phone I…” I looked away, no longer able to stare at his emotionless mask. As if he noticed this, he slipped it off.

“Y/N,” he said gently.

I kept looking ahead, clenching my jaw to keep my lips from trembling.

“Y/N, look at me,” he said. When I turned to look at him his eyes were hard but determined. He continued, “I wasn’t going to let you die; I wasn’t going to let him hurt you. I’ll never let that happen if I can help it. I know it was scary, but you’re safe now; you’re alive. What matters is that I answered and that I made it on time.”

I nodded my head, and let out a shaky laugh that turned into a cry, finally losing my demeanor. Peter immediately reacted by side-hugging me, rubbing his hand up and down my arm. I sniffled and let a few tears fall, and Peter just held me, whispering sweet-nothings. He tucked my head under his chin and ran his fingers down my hair in a comforting manner.

After a few minutes, when I composed myself, I pulled away. “Thank you, Peter. I’ll never be able to repay you.”

“Yes you will,” he said, looking at me. I looked up at him and waited for him to continue. “Just stay alive, and out of harms way, okay?” he chuckled.

I smiled softly and said, “Okay.”

“And if not, I’ll come and save you anyway,” he said nonchalantly.

I slightly chuckled, but got quiet when I started to think.

Breaking the silence, Peter said, “You know, I heard you stand up for that lady on the train.”

“You heard that?” I asked.

“I didn’t hang up right away,” he shrugged. “By the way, I still have your phone. It’s in my backpack on the side of a dumpster though.”

I furrowed my brows in confusion. Noticing my expression he quickly added “Don’t worry, it’s not trash day today. Not making that mistake again,” mumbling the last part to himself.

I patted my pocket, and felt the outline of Peter’s phone. I pulled it out and handed it to him. “I’m sorry I saw your video, Peter. I didn’t mean to invade. I thought just one video wouldn’t hurt anyone.” I looked away ashamed.

Peter looked at his phone, and smiled, “I’m glad you saw it. If you didn’t find out, then I wouldn’t have gotten to those people on time -including you. Just, promise me you won’t tell anyone. No one else can find out and I don’t think you’re the type of person to go around-”

I cut him off, “I swear.” I smiled at him, glad he didn’t hate me. He gave me a soft smile, but then looked embarrassed at what he was going to say next.

“And if we’re going to be honest, I, uh, I looked at some of your photos,” he sheepishly admitted.

“What!” I squeaked, horrified.

Peter’s eyes widened at my outburst, “Y- you did it too!”

“No, no I didn’t! I just saw one video, I didn’t see anything else!” I defended myself.

“It was, it was just a selfie or two that I saw anyway. They were cute,” he mumbled, blushing. “And some pictures of your dog. Those were cute too.”

My ears got hot, and I could only imagine how red my face was. “Um, yeah, okay. Whatever,” I tried laughing it off. I tucked my hair behind my ear and looked away, hiding my smile.

He thinks I’m cute?

“You don’t have a weird voice by the way; I was just messing with you last night. I like your voice; it’s actually really nice,” I admitted, still not meeting his eyes.

Peter stuttered a bit and said, “Th-thanks.” Then he cleared his throat. “You have a really cute,” he paused, “smi…dog”

I looked at him and laughed, “What?”

“I,” he said, fumbling a bit, “Buddy. He’s really cute.”

“Thanks?” I replied, uncertain, giggling anyway. “Your film was really cute. I’d give it a solid three stars,” I teased, bumping his shoulder.

Three stars?” he exclaimed, laughing back.

“The whole, ‘stealing Captain America’s shield’ was just unbelievable to me,” I joked.

Peter scoffed then chuckled, “Well, it totally happened. And it was bad-ass.”

I grinned and looked at Peter. He looked down at me and we sort of stared into each other’s eyes until he glanced down at my lips.

If I’m not wrong, I know what comes next.

His phone rang.

We both snapped out of it, and I looked away awkwardly.

“Uh, I should, I should probably take this,” he said, motioning to the phone. I merely nodded, and he stood up to go answer it and talk to whoever was on the other line.

I took a deep breath and bit my lip to keep from smiling so big.

Was he really about to kiss me? Does Peter Parker like me back?

“Aunt May was just checking in on me since she saw the train incident on the news,” he explained, walking back to me.

My eyes widened when I realized I didn’t call my dad. “Um, can I make a quick call? My dad’s gunna kill me,” I said, standing up.

Peter nodded, handing me the phone, and I quickly called my dad. I told him I missed the train and decided to come home when I heard what happened so he wouldn’t worry about me. Otherwise, he’d never let me leave the house. I’d probably be home-schooled. When I hung up, Peter had put his mask back on.

“Ready?” he asked.

“Yeah,” I smiled.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that,” I said, once Peter landed on the ground again -just a few houses down from mine.

I had my arms wrapped around his neck, basically hugging him instead of having him carry me this time. He slowly set me down, but neither of us completely let go of each other. It just looked like I was hugging Spider-Man in the middle of the street -just another typical Saturday afternoon. This was a quiet neighborhood though, so no one was around to see this.

“It sure beats traffic though,” he said.

I smiled and said, “Oh yeah, definitely.” I dropped my hands from his neck and let them sit on his chest instead.= while his rested on the small of my back. “You gotta tell me how this happened though.”

“I can explain everything to you later. I think I’m getting better at telling the story,” he chuckled.

“Who else knows?” I asked. “I figured I was the only one who uncovered your deep, dark secret.”

“Ned found out by accident first. Then my aunt May -that was also an accident.” he explained.

“I think there’s a pattern going on here,” I teased.

“Yeah, I gotta get better at hiding this,” he admitted. He finally made the first move to pull away, much to my dismay. He pulled out his phone from his belt and handed it to me. “Here.”

I just looked at it and then back to him, “What?”

“Hold onto it until I can give you your phone back,” he said, putting it in my hand, “that way I have a reason to come back to you.”

I tried to hide my smile, but horribly failed. “I can give you another reason,” I said confidently.

I reached up to pull his mask up slightly, but stopped half way. His hands met mine, and he asked, “Uh, what are you doi-”

But I cut him off by leaning up and gently pressing my lips against his. Peter was shocked at first, but then he responded. It was short, but it still felt amazing. After I pulled away, I could see that Peter was left a stumbling mess.

“Um, I, uh, that’s a really good reason to come back, like, really good,” he mumbled.

I blushed the whole time, but smiled anyway, “Yeah, I, uh, think it was really good too.” I started walking backwards, “I have to, um, go, over there.” I pointed to my house, clearing my throat.

Peter pulled down his mask and said, “And I have to go to, the um, dumpster. I need to get my stuff back.”

We both chuckled nervously and I called out, “Bye Spider-Man!”

He yelled back, “Goodbye citizen!” before swinging away.

After saying our goodbyes, we went our separate ways. Once I got to my front door, I bit my lip and smiled just reliving the moment. I walked to my room, greeting my dad in the process, and fell onto my bed. My hands went up to my lips and I sighed in content.

I just kissed Peter Parker.

You can’t hurt me more - Wolverine x abused!reader

Summary : Reader had an extremely hard life and is in love with Logan…but he’s afraid that he might get her hurt and tries to break things off.

Warnings : Physical abuse, torture and stuffs. That “reader” suffered a lot.

(My masterlist blog here : https://ella-ravenwood-archives.tumblr.com)

_______________________________________________________________________

When Logan first met you, he was chasing his past. Was chasing “Weapon X” and anything related. He found you in one of the labs where they made people like him. Killing machines. The labs you were in wasn’t really a lab anymore. It turned into a torture chamber a long time ago. He found you,  almost dead, laying in a fetus position in the corner of a shitty cell. You were the only survivor.

He took you home with him, to the X-Mansion. There, while they took care of your severe injuries, the professor looked into your head. When he pulled away, there were tears in his eyes.

-This child…This child suffered too much…It’s inhuman…I don’t know how she’s still alive…

In your mind, he saw what happened to you. He’d never forget it, scarred for life…You were an extremely cute little girl when your world crumbled to the sea. Barely six years old. You already show signs of mutations, being able to control the four elements, water, fire, earth and air. Six years old was young for that, you were a case of science, a special one, bound to become extremely powerful. But it never happened, you were snatched from a peaceful normal life by monsters.

Tony going to cons in his iron man suit. Entering tony stark look alike contests. Going to cons dressed as the other avengers. Going in a modified suit and getting lectured by That Guy bc it's not a perfect replica or bonus points tony speaking via FRIDAY and That Guy assuming tony is a lady and being super condescending so naturally tony sheds the suit and lectures him (prob to standing ovation). Idk just tony nicely trolling

Tony had spent weeks working on this suit, it was specifically for conventions, and relatively low on weapons, not to mention light weight and dazzling. It’s the only armor in his arsenal not meant for battles, and therefore the only one that has both snack compartments, and a laser light show. He’s absolutely pumped to show it off at comic con San Diego, when a dude bro in a cheap Captain America cosplay starts talking to him.

“Why on earth would you paint the armor black and yellow? Are you color blind or just stupid?” The dude bro asks, giving Tony an assessing look. Tony glances at him before looking around. Clint’s supposed to be meeting up with him soon. “Not to mention, the proportions are all wrong. Did you even use a template? What kind of fan are you?”

“Tell him to go away.” Tony asks, hoping Friday can get rid of the asshole before Clint shows up.

“It’s called creativity, you should try it some time.” Friday snarks, and Tony notices a creepy glint in the guys eyes, as he steps closer.

“Nice voice.” He says. “I don’t know a lot of girls who cosplay as Iron Man.” Tony rolls his eyes. “I can help you figure out the suit proportions, if you’d like.” He offers, and Tony is honestly wondering if this asshole thinks he’s attractive.

“No, sorry. I like my suit as it is.” Friday retorts. Tony wishes he had a weapon when the guy leers at him, leaning forward. Tony catches sight of Clint over the guys shoulder.

“C’mon honey. It needs some serious improvement.” He says seriously, and Tony is fuming.

“I can’t believe you would talk to someone like that.” He snaps, the faceplate nearly hitting the asshole when it opens. “You didn’t even introduce yourself before being a judgmental asshole.” Tony waves his arm towards him, forcing asshole to jump back or get a metal hand to the gut.

“Mr. Stark?” He asks, shocked. Tony raises an eyebrow at him, then glances down at himself.

“Appears so. What should I call you? Asshole?” He asks, and the guy looks affronted. “Oh, don’t pull that shit. You’re an asshole, who was bullying someone based on an outfit, and then being a creepy ass just because you thought it was a woman.”

“I’m not creepy!” The guy screeches. Clint stops right behind him, waiting to see what’s going on.

“Friday, do you think he was creepy?” Tony asks, the guy crosses his arms.

“Undoubtedly Boss. Not to mention condescending, and irritating.” She offers, and Tony raises an eyebrow at him.

“Fucking slayed.” Clint mutters, the asshole nearly jumps out of his skin. “Piece of advice, if you wouldn’t say it to Black Widow, don’t say it to a girl.”

“I didn’t do anything wrong!” The guy protests, throwing his arms up in the air. Tony snorts a laugh, and points to Natasha.

“If you didn’t do anything wrong, go up to her. That’s Black Widow by the way. Go tell her that her costume isn’t that good, but you can help her make it better. Make sure you get really close, and her back is to a wall.” Tony challenges, and the guy’s eyes go wide. “Now if you honestly believe you could do that without being killed, then I’ll believe you think what you did was okay, but I don’t think you believe it.”

“Look, I don’t want any trouble.” The guy says, and there’s a small crowd gathered around now. Tony shrugs.

“If you don’t want any trouble, don’t walk up to people insult them, and then creep on them.” Tony offers. “It’s really not that difficult to avoid being a massive creep.”

“Roasted.” Clint says, the asshole storms off muttering about Ironman being an asshole. Tony isn’t worried, the girl in the Deadpool costume was filming the whole exchange so it shouldn’t negatively affect his reputation. “Bye assclown!” Clint calls, turning to Tony. “Natasha is going to kill you when she finds out you told a guy to go creep on her.” Clint informs him, the blood drains out of Tony’s face. “C’mon the panel starts in a couple minutes.”

“I’m so dead.” Tony mumbles as Clint drags him towards the conference room.

Can we please have Sanvers comforting Kara after the break up. Like... We all hate him but she thought he was special and she's probably hurting a lot right now and could use some older sister TLC at the moment.

She cums hard and she cums loudly – something she’s never done before, with anyone – and she cums so many more times than once that even competitive nerd Alex loses count.

And normally, she’d drift off to sleep.

Safe and happy and peaceful and home in Alex’s arms.

And normally, Alex would press endless kisses to her forehead and they’d whisper to each other – about work, about their teenage years, about their exes, about their adventures, about their terrors, about the random cat memes that Kara would send and Maggie’s latest gym shenanegins with James and her latest pool hilarities with Winn and how beautiful you are and how lucky I am and what did I ever do to deserve you – until they fell asleep.

But tonight, they both lay awake.

Tonight, they look into each other’s eyes and they smile, and then they laugh resignedly, because they both know what the other is thinking.

Kara.

“I’ll order ahead for the pizza and potstickers. You let her know we’re coming,” Maggie says as she passes Alex her shirt, her bra, and grabs one of Alex’s for herself, a habit that Maggie has never had with anyone else and a habit that Alex loves, loves, loves.

“I lo – you’re… you’re incredible, Maggie.”

“In bed? Yeah, you seem to have informed me –  oof!”

A pillow smacks her shoulder lightly and they both giggle as they languidly pull their clothes back on.

“For knowing. For caring. About Kara. For not… for not being mad at me. For needing to go be with her.”

“Alex, she’s your sister. Of course you need to go be with her.”

“You’ll come too? She’s kind of gotten attached to you.”

Maggie smiles, thinking of the last game night when Kara had encouraged Mon-El to go home and get some sleep, but practically begged both Alex and Maggie to stay, and she fell asleep in both of their arms with a safe, comforted smile on her face that was too rare nowadays.

“Of course I’ll come, if you think she wants me to.”

Alex laughs as she looks down at her buzzing phone, and she holds it out to show Maggie.

Yes. Please bring potstickers, pizza, and your girlfriend.

They hold hands the entire drive over – taking Maggie’s car because Alex’s bike needs an oil change and they’d walked home from the station, and because they can’t bear the loss of physical contact – and they somehow still manage to keep holding hands while carrying three pies and two heaping bags of potstickers up to Kara’s apartment.

She’s curled in a ball and she’s sniffling and she’s red-faced and puffy-eyed when they get there, and she holds out grabby hands for the food and for her sister and for her sister’s girlfriend, but she says nothing, because there’s nothing to say.

“Do you feel relieved at all?” Alex asks softly, only after Kara’s torn through five potsticks and a slice of pizza.

Kara’s lip wobbles and she shrugs and Maggie squeezes Alex’s hand and elaborates gently.

“It’s okay if you do, you know. He was a piece of home. Or, well, closer to home than any human could give you. Because he might be the prince of all assholes – no, not might, he is – but Little Danvers, he knew your language. Your history. And not because you told him about it, but because he grew up knowing them. Like you did. That’s important, and it’s powerful, and it can make you overlook a lot. Hell, Kara, you could kiss him without breaking his nose, you could be… intimate without hurting him. That… that’s special, Kara, those are… those are special things, and they’re hard to… They’re hard to lose, even when maybe we should. It’s okay if you feel relieved, though. It’s okay. You’re not betraying your history. You’re being true to yourself.”

Alex beams at her girlfriend and kisses her sister’s forehead and strokes her hair and pulls her into her arms.

“I’m proud of you, Kara. Do you… your text said he told you he loves you. Do you…”

She nods, and then she shakes her head, and then she nods, and then she shakes her head again.

And then she shovels three more potstickers into her mouth, and Maggie grabs four subtly – two for her, two for Alex – before they’re gone.

“It’s what Maggie said, I think, I… Daxam was… complicated, it was wrong, but if I’ve learned anything about my past since coming out as Supergirl, it’s that Krypton wasn’t all that much to be defended, either. That weapon my father made, Fort Rozz, I… he’s part of home. Not like you, Alex, not – you’re my home, Alex, you’re the only home I’ll ever need, I just – “

“I know. It’s okay, you don’t have to explain. I know.”

Kara sighs her head into Alex’s shoulder and Alex draws her closer and Maggie’s heart warms watching them.

“I just can’t believe it took me this long to realize that he just… I deserve so much better than someone who lies like that, who invalidates me and manipulates me and – that’s what he was doing, right? Am I making that up just because I’m hurt now, I – “

“No, you’re not.”

“Absolutely not – that’s what abusive, gaslighting relationships make you think, Little Danvers, that you’re out of touch with reality, that things are your fault, that you’re making things seem worse than they are…”

“It wasn’t abusive…”

“Alright. That’s okay. That’s a big word, and it’s a scary one. I get it, I do. You can process that how you need to, at whatever pace you need to. We’re here, both of us, through all of it, okay?”

Kara nods slowly, her brain spinning, and Alex kisses the crinkle between her eyes.

“Kara, you’re amazing. And I’m so proud of you for knowing what you deserve. You know that, right? That you deserve only the best?”

Kara sighs and takes her glasses off and rubs her eyes and Alex smiles.

“You are so beautiful, Kara. For yourself. Not for some man to redeem himself for. For yourself.”

“You have to say that, you’re my sister.”

“Well I’m not, and I say she’s right.”

“You have to agree with her, you’re her girlfriend.”

“I – “

“She’s got a point, Sawyer, I mean, ride or die, right?”

Kara laughs softly as Maggie fake scowls up at Alex and kisses her knee.

“I want what you two have.”

“Ugh, just like Brian.”

“Briannnn.”

“Please don’t compare me to – “

“Then please don’t use his phrases.”

“How was I supposed to know he said – “

“You don’t wanna know more, trust me.”

Kara sighs into a laugh and snuggles into Alex’s lap. “Don’t leave?”

“Never, Kara. Never.”

“You too, Maggie?”

“I’m right here, sunshine. I’m right here.”

Kara smiles sleepily – all the crying, all the pain, will knock her right out – as Alex strokes her hair and Maggie wraps her in a blanket.

“I love you, Kara. For exactly who you are.”

“I love you too, Alex. For the same thing.”

Maggie doesn’t say anything – not yet – but in her mind, she repeats their words over and over, because as the three of them drift off to sleep in a bundled, pizza-heavy heap on the couch, she feels that love, too.

I Got You Part 2

Dean lays you down gently on a bed. The room is spartan in its furnishing, there are no windows, but it feels secure. A man trails him into the room, wearing a trench coat and tie.

Dean sits on the edge of the bed. “(Y/N), this is my friend, Castiel. He can heal you, he’s an angel.”

Your eyes widen in surprise. You’d heard the stories of course, but you’d never met an actual angel. “You’re real?” you blurt out.

Dean chuckles and Castiel looks puzzled. He looks down and pats himself, as if to reassure himself that he is, indeed, real. “Of course I’m real. Do I look strange?”

Your cheeks redden, embarrassed. You have no idea how to address an angel. Probably formally. You’d heard from another hunter that angels are egotistical pricks.

“Cas,” Dean says, “can you just get with the healing? She needs to rest.”

“Oh, yes, of course, Dean.” The angel crosses the room and reaches out a hand to your forehead. You cringe, not knowing what is about to happen. He touches you briefly, light seemingly emanating from his palm. It’s as if you can actually feel your body healing itself - bones knitting together, skin growing back into place. A sense of peace washes over you while he touches your skin. When he removes his hand, you feel whole once again.

“Thank you,” you whisper.

“You’re welcome,” he says simply before slipping out of the room.

Dean stands too, the mattress springing upward, free of his weight. “Get some rest, (Y/N). We’ll talk more in the morning.”

———

There is a slight moment of panic when you wake in the morning, the room unfamiliar. Your heart pounds against your ribcage. It takes a moment to focus and remember that you are safe. Safe. Is there really such a thing? Yes, you decide. You’ve felt it in the last twenty-four hours. Every time you are near Dean Winchester.

You realize that you’re still wearing his flannel. You wrap it tightly around yourself, as if it’s some kind of magical armor, and step out into the hallway. It doesn’t take long to figure out which way to go - you follow the tantalizing aroma of bacon wafting down the hall.

“Mornin’, sunshine,” Dean says when you step into the kitchen. The smile on his lips reaches his eyes when he sees you’re still wearing his shirt. “Have a seat, I’ll grab you a plate.” He jerks his head to indicate the blonde woman standing in the kitchen. “(Y/N), this is my mom, Mary.  Mom, this is (Y/N).”

Mary crosses the room to you. She extends her hand and you shake it. Her grip is firm, her face is a mask. You can’t quite get a read on her. “It’s nice to meet you. My boys told me what happened. How are you doing?”

“Much better, thank you.” Dean slips a plate in front of you and you tuck in, still feeling the effects of starvation. “Do you know who it was that tortured me?”

Mary and Dean exchange a look as if they are deciding what to share with them. Smart move, considering they don’t know you from Adam. Mary shakes her head, almost so slightly that you barely miss it. Dean tilts his head as if silently arguing with her.

Apparently, Dean wins, because he answers you. “I don’t know if you remember much from last night, but this is the Men of Letters bunker,” he says, waving his hand around.

“Wait - the Men of Letters were real?” you ask, snatching another piece of bacon from the tray.  Mary’s lips quirk up in an approving smile.

“Yep, Sam and are I legacies,” Dean responds with a twinge of pride.

“Oh, congrats…I guess?” you ask.

Dean deflates a little and Mary stifles a giggle. Did you hurt his feelings? God, you feel like a moron.

“Yeah, yeah,” he says, but he doesn’t seem mad. “Our grandfather was a member. It’s a long story, but he traveled through time and told us about the Men of Letters. We moved in here shortly after. We figured the Men of Letters was essentially defunct after all these years.”

“I’m sensing a plot twist,” you comment and that earns you a dazzling smile from Dean. It makes you feel warm and tingly all over.

“Turns out the British Men of Letters were still operational all these years. And they’ve decided that they need a foothold here in America too,” Dean explains.

“Yeah, and they are total assholes,” Sam’s voice booms out behind you as he enters the kitchen. He reaches out and squeezes your shoulder. That small kindness is worth more than a thousand words. “We’re pretty certain they were the people who tortured you.”

Your fists curl into tight balls, anger flooding through you. Though your body may be healed, the rage you carry at being tortured can’t be healed as easily as your body. You were going to kill every one of those bastards. “Where are they?”

“We’re trying to track them down, but we don’t have much to go on. We’ll let you know as soon as we know anything,” Dean assures you. “Don’t worry, we’ll find ‘em. I got you.”

————-

The bunker is comforting, a refuge, you feel safe within its walls, but you are a woman of action. Sitting around doing research is nothing short of maddening. When Dean stands and says he’s running into town for a supply run, you jump at the chance to go with him.

The ride into town is pleasant, it’s a mild day and the windows are down. You ask Dean about his car and listen while he describes it. It’s clearly the love of his life. It’s almost sexual the way he describes the sleek lines and the purring engine. Most of the technical detail is beyond you, but you are happy to listen, to see the way he lights up talking about something he’s passionate about.

You are acutely aware of the way his hand rests on the back of the bench seat, close to your shoulder. How would it feel for him to reach out and touch you? What is it about him that draws you to him so strongly? He’s certainly easy on the eyes, but it’s more than that. He turns to you and smiles, the sun glinting off his face. His fingertips barely graze the bare skin on your shoulder. Your stomach fills with butterflies.

God, you are so done for.

———

At the market, you place your items on the counter. “Dean,” you say quietly. “Don’t look, but we’re being followed.”

Dean pitches his voice so only you can hear, leaning his head down close to yours, your foreheads almost touching. You imagine how it looks to anyone around you, the two of you inclined toward one another, whispering like a couple sharing secrets. “Where?”

“Standing by the magazine rack, blue shirt. He’s been watching us since we came here,” you respond. Dean lifts his shirt and slips a blade out his waistband and pushes it into your hand. You haven’t handled a weapon quite like it but you know how to use it.

“K, when we leave, turn down the alley to the right. I’m going to come around the other side, we’ll surround him.”

“Got it,” you reply. Dean hefts the grocery bag in one hand and the two of you exit the store, splitting up.

The guy exits shortly after and turns to follow after you. So that answers who he’s looking for - he’s after you. Hiding flat against the wall, you listen to his footsteps approaching. Taking a deep breath, you ready the blade. As he makes the turn, you use the element of surprise to you grip him by the shoulder and whirl him around. You slam him to the wall, the blade glinting in the sunlight as you press it to his throat.

“Who are you?” you demand.

“I’m nobody,” he says.

“Fucking hell, you’re nobody. Why are you following me?” You press the blade a little further into his flesh, blood dotting the shiny metal.

“There’s a price on your head, girl,” he says smugly.

“Who is looking for me?” you question, increasing the pressure on his throat.

He shrugs in your grip. “Don’t know, don’t care. I’m just in it for the prize.”

Boot treads indicated Dean’s presence in the alley. “What prize, you fucking prick?” you question.

“Freedom,” he says.

“(Y/N), watch out!” Dean shouts. You realize your mistake - so caught up in questions that you didn’t see the weapon your stalker pulled from his pocket.

You spring back, the knife slicing through your shirt. He charges at you, knife raised high. You duck and twist to the side as he runs at you. Sweeping out your leg, you knock him to the ground. He keeps his grip on the knife, but he’s had the wind knocked out of him. Quickly you grip the blade in your hands and slam down with as much force as you can, breaking through his rib cage and stabbing him in the heart.

By the time Dean reaches you, the body below you is sparking, orange light emanating from the body. Dean kneels down and grabs you by the shoulder, “You okay?”

You’re breathing rapidly, the adrenaline coursing through you. There’s a thin line of blood streaking your shirt, but it’s a shallow wound. Yes, you are okay. You are more than okay.  It felt really fucking good to kill something, to let that anger out that you’ve been holding at bay since your capture.

“Good, yeah, I’m good.” Dean stands and reaches out a hand to pull you to your feet.

“Why is a fucking demon following you?” he asks, staring down at the body.

“I don’t know, but he says there’s a bounty on my head.”

Dean snaps his head up, eyes clouded with concern. “Let’s get back to the bunker.”

———–

Back at the bunker, Dean explains to Sam and Mary what happened in town. You’re glowing with pride at the way Dean describes you taking down that demon like you’re some kind of goddamn superhero.

“So now is every demon after (Y/N)?” Mary asks.

“I don’t know, I tried calling Crowley but he’s not answering,” Dean responds.

Sam’s phone beeps and he holds up a finger and steps out of the room. “What do we do know?” you ask.

“We’ll figure it out. In the meantime, keeping you safe is my number one priority, don’t you worry,” Dean assures you. Your heart skips a beat, just a tiny little erratic skipped a beat, when he focuses his attention on you. Your eyes lock together and you feel the intensity of his gaze. Neither of you seems willing or able to tear away.

The enchantment is broken when Sam enters the room. “We have a problem,” he announces. “Two more hunters are dead.”
