Contemporary Ballet Dancer Shiro is someone everyone admires and basically Everyone’s Crush™ but he already have his eyes set on a certain new hip-hop dancer recruit next door who’s always wearing red. He doesn’t have the guts to ask him out–at all. However, he asks if he could teach him hip-hop dancing.

Hi, so people have been saying that white people shouldn't use the label pangender, which is cool whatever, I'm not pangender. But I'm pansexual and white is that still ok to use??? I've really become comfortable with it so I'm a bit worried if I'm not supposed to use it, how I'll describe myself :/ hope this wasn't offensive I'm just wondering. So is it the same, that white people should use pansexual as well???

Ren says:

In answer to the questions (some very polite and some rather pointed) we’ve received about the pangender identity, let me clarify!

Pansexuality is the attraction to all gender identities - not claiming the identity for yourself. There is no sexual orientation that is exclusive to any race - no worries there!

Pangender would mean that you identify with all genders, but that’s not necessarily true or okay! Culturally specific genders (examples: hijras, two-spirits, waria, etc) are closed to members of that culture only, and by the definition of pangender, you would be also identifying as those genders that you can’t claim.

(Correcting myself from an earlier post - it’s not just problematic for white people. For example, a Native could identify as two-spirit, but not as a hijra because they are not Indian.)

A less problematic term for this is polygender, which implies that you get a ‘melting pot effect’ with a lot of genders - maybe even all the genders that aren’t culturally specific! It’s not a difficult change to make.

Also what the heck is this crap (other anon)

Is it just because it wasn’t coined by white people? Because if it was then so what

Please stop being a rude baby and start respecting the voices of POCs??

Anyway, yup! There’s your crash course on polygender. Let me know if I got any of my facts wrong! <3
