because all the songs would be from this album

So I saw this post saying that BTS was planning on disbanding during the N.O. era because of not having enough money and I can’t help but think of what it would be like if they actually had. There would no more of the songs we all love since that era. No music videos, no theories. No first place wins on music shows. No Daesang awards for best album of the year and artist of the year. No Billboard Music Award. No social media posts from the boys. No bangtan bombs. No world tours. And above else, there wouldn’t be an ARMY family that we all love and are happy to be apart of.

So a big thank you to the boys for sticking through with it despite the obstacles thrown at them. People say they’re cliche and are just an overrated boy group. No, they’re not. They’ve worked incredibly hard for where they are today and have given thousands, millions, of people hope to do the same.

Happy 4th anniversary BTS! Thank you for growing up to be the group that all of us admire and love so much. Thank you for all you have given us. We can only hope for many more years in the future.

Love myself, love yourself. Love BTS 🎉

Mindblowing facts about SDR2

[source: tvtropes.org]

I was happily fooling around on tvtropes.org (it’s very good when you want to read something totally random or interesting about any fandom possible) and I decided to read something about SDR2… There are many things (from tearjerking, to nightmarish, to funny, things of any kind, really) that I never noticed and these are the ones I personally find to be the most interesting.

WARNING: Long post.

music release

so hers’ my idea right now (it’s not final you guys know i get lazy lol but i want to try) :

i put out like 50 or 100 (or more depending on interest) cassettes of an album of my songs from like 2011-2015. it would be an album of the original recordings from thepophefakes and then those songs rerecorded maybe with just piano acoustic in 2017, with some songs i never released as well added on, and maybe a cover or two. It would have maybe 15 or 20 tracks total.

–BUT/AND–

so the cassette money would go to charity BUT/AND then

I also could release that as an album on ITUNES AND SPOTIFY AND ALL THOSE PLACES AND THEN THOSE SONGS WOULD BE OFFICIAL FOREVER!! and that money would go to my taxes. just tbh

okay what do u think i ask because i feel like the ppl who actually follow me here would have a good answer haha. thanksfor reading

i love taylor swift. i love her music and her poise and grace and all that, and you know what, i understand the narrative she’s trying to take back, the reputation that has been stacked against her for the past 18 months, and her just standing up and taking control. i’m glad she’s trying out something new and kudos to her for being brave enough to step out and call out the bullshit against her

but

“look what you made me do”

is exactly the phrase my mom would use when she beat me with a spatula straight off the stove because i messed up the order of books in the shelf. the exact phrase my dad would say when he sent me to bed without lunch or dinner after hitting me for getting a b+ instead of an a+. the exact kinda phrase my childhood bully would say before he pulled my hair after i talked back to him.

it’s just such a toxic statement and the only kinda people who say that phrase are people who do shitty things and then act like the victims who pretend that the people they have hurt have somehow forced them to act like the bad guy. “this is your fault. you’re making me do this, you’re making me act this way” and you know what, that’s complete and utter bullshit. no matter what kinda narrative you wanna portray and what you mean, saying “look what you made me do” especially in that kinda aggressive way is saying, “i didn’t do anything wrong at all and this is your fault” when everyone knows that taylor can be a bit problematic at times and she hates being portrayed as that.

idk pls don’t message me saying i’m reading too much into this because well it seems like she released a song like this and an album cover like this so that people would read into it and i for one cannot handle a revenge pity party tracklist where a grown ass woman would act so petty as to not be the bigger person, accept her share of the blame, grow from it, and not stoop to the level her haters have been at her whole life. I wish Taylor was better at accepting her own faults and this is just proof that she has so far to go and I hope the rest of her album shows a better side of her

Friday nights were the ones I looked most forward too since I always knew he’d be there, even if it wasn’t with me. Thank god I was friends with Ashton, because without him, I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of getting to know Luke.

Every Friday, there was a huge meet-up at the beach where anyone and everyone from schools across the town could come to Blue Lagoon Beach to party. As expected, there was alcohol, loud music, loads of make out sessions and even sometimes, they’d bring weed. It was a cliché party scene that absolutely everyone adorned in our town because it was the best way for us to all be together and be able to somehow relax and get our mind of all our worries.

He’d been standing there for a good 20 minutes talking to his friends, which included: Ashton, Calum and Michael. I was stood with my friends - not too far from him - trying to listen to his conversation, but my eyes were glued to him. His presence was too distracting for me to listen.

His muscular arms hugged tight by his black t-shirt, his dark skinny jeans clinging to his legs as his black boots loosely hang around his ankles. He was a sight for sore eyes. His piercing blue eyes locked with mine as he brushed his fingers through his blonde curls - oh how I wish I could run my fingers through his hair just one more-

“Oh my god, you’re doing it again!” Betty complains, bringing me back out my fantasy. “It literally looks like you’re having fantasies about having sex-” “I didn’t even start them yet.” I playfully interrupt, causing her to roll her eyes at my response. “You already slept with him like twice, what more is there to fantasise?” Logan asks. “Look at him, he’s absolutely gorgeous!” I exclaim, my body getting worked up at the sight of him. “Trust me, you’ll always want more with Luke.”

heya, i know this'll be a load of hassle for you and i completely understand if you don't want to but could you explain the whole mclennon thing a bit more for me? i know they were obviously very close but i'm kinda new to it all so i'm still a bit clueless about things.

Once upon a time, in a land called Liverpool, lived 2 young boys named John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

John was a witty, funny guy, who didn’t like school and preferred to wander the streets with his school mates and play banjo. Paul was a smart guy who had really good grades at school and occasionally played piano with his father at home. Since his mother’s death, Paul became obsessed with music, exchanging the trumphet his father gave him for his birthday for a guitar. He really knew how to play it, and sometimes he showed his music skills to his friends at school. One of them, Ivan, saw his talent and thought it was a good idea to make him know another friend who was into music as well: John. They met on a hot, humid day in 1957 in a church hall, and it was love at first sight.

Paul thought John how to play the guitar, how to tune it, John thought Paul how to skip school and write songs together in his house when Jim was at work. For his birthday John got some money and he decided to spend it in Paris with Paul. They stayed one week, visiting the city, frequenting art cafés pretending to be artists, planning their future, and sleeping in one bed in an old motel. They loved to be alone just the two of them, and sometimes they felt reality and the pressure of their family too suffocating. ‘Playing the guitar is all very well, John, but you’ll never make a living at it.’ said Mimi. “You have to find a steady job.” said Jim. When they wrote ‘Oh Johnny Johnny!’ , one of the very first songs of them, they expressed their hopes and dreams to go away, cause Paul’s father and Mimi were too oppressive and they wanted to leave Liverpool and live happily just the two of them.

When fame arrived, they became closer than before. They wrote songs eyeball to eyeball in Jane Asher’s house, and while they pretended to adress those songs to their supposed girlfriends, they were nothing but love letters they sent each other. If I fell, a song they recorded while holding hands or Here there and everywhere, a song Paul wrote at John’s house while waiting for him to wake up. And Nowhere man, You’ve got to hide your love away...the list is too long to mention them all. They were the most important person in each other’s lives, and the songs they wrote were the proof. “John’s princess”: that’s how the people who worked at Abbey Road called Paul. Maybe they were joking, or maybe they listened to some weird kisses noises while they were busy recording ’Think for Yourself’. When the Beatles made a Shakespeare sketch on tv, Paul played Pyramus while John played Thisbe. After that, they both bought 2 cats naming them Pyramus and Thisbe: John gave Thisbe to Paul, and Paul gave Pyramus to John.

While the Beatlesmania hit the world and the Beatles too, John’s main problem was try to find someone who could keep his feet on the ground (Help!): a crying need for help only Paul could solve. They even had a secret code they used in public to talk to each other, the spider hand thing’. In Florida they ended up crying together one night confessing how much they loved each other. Cause they knew it, but they never had the courage to say it, and in that moment, in which the whole world seemed to love and want the Beatles more than anything else, what they really needed were just each other. When the ‘bigger than jesus’ issue emerged, John was on the verge of quitting. Before the interviews he cried, he couldn’t stand one more question about it without feeing guilty. And it was always Paul who helped him, talking for him, reassuring him, telling him it would pass.

The fame was too much and they decided to quit touring and spend some time alone. The Sgt. Pepper era arrived: John and Paul lived a couple of miles away from each other, they all bought new houses, had an indepent life, but they always spent time together and not just to write songs. In that period they were more closer than ever. One night they were in the studio and John took too much LSD and he went to the roof, scaring the rest of the band. Paul took him home, and for the first time he took LSD too, cause he wanted to be with John, always. In misery and in fear. And they had this incredible, fantastic trip together, looking in each other eyes for hours, and Paul helping John to not get hurt. Their relationship was at its peak. When Brian died, everyone was shocked. The first thing John did after he heard the news was looking for Paul, when they met they hugged tightly. They felt lost, but they still had each other. They went to India, thanks to George who introduced them to the Maharishi, a ‘guru’  John saw as someone who could give him the right answers. But it didn’t happen, it turned out that the Maharishi took advantage of the girls in India, and John and Paul, who went there to try find the meaning of life, ended up discussing about each other and their relationship. Friends? No, we’re more. Boyfriends? Absolutely not. How dare you, we are the Beatles! We are in the 60s, a homophobic society who would bury us alive if we’d admit we feel something for each other. Suddenly, the person who mattered the most for John took a step back, cause John exposed him. Because they never really talked about what they were for each other, and for a long time it was convenient for Paul, who could play and joke with it as much as he wanted. But John never took it as a joke, as something futile. It was important for him, and he suddenly felt betrayed.

When they went to New York for the Apple press conference, in the car that took them to the airport Paul brought a woman he had met: Linda Eastman. John felt annoyed and bothered enough to step in Abbey Road a week later with a new fiancé: Yoko Ono, the woman who soon started to replace John, talking for him, taking decisions for him, and keeping her eveywhere, even when Paul asked to write songs together. Paul couldn’t talk to John anymore. John always needed to be reassured, he constantly needed someone by his side who could stay with him 100%, and this time the partner wasn’t Paul anymore. And he literally started using her against Paul. “I don’t want to hold your hand anymore” he told Paul right after a session at Abbey Road. Paul was devasted, he left Abbey road crying while Mal brought him home. He wrote Oh!Darling, Let it be, The long and winding road, the whole album was filled with tragic love songs. But why? He was engaged with Linda! He loved her. Who he really was talking about? During a Let it be session, they confessed each other that all those tragic love songs made them look like they were lovers.

They married their partners both in May, first Paul, then a week later John. They split up, you would say, this is the end. Well it’s not, they never really quitted. Because they spent 5 years, from 1970 to 1975 writing songs to each other: ‘How do you sleep’ ‘Dear Friend’ ‘Too many people’,Jealous guy’, in which John admitted that he got mad at Paul in the late 60s cause he was jealous.

John separated from Yoko in 1975. He met May Pang, and from that moment he started calling Paul again, dreaming to meet him again. He asked everyone if it was a good move to do. He asked May Pang, who said “Yes! of course! do it!” he asked to Paul Simon who replied Come back to Paul!”. They met in Los Angeles on a weekend. John was playing when Paul unexpectedly stopped by. When they met the room hushed. They looked at each other and started off tentatively, with a handshake and an inside joke: “Valiant Paul McCartney, I presume?” Lennon said, referencing the Shakespeare sketch they did. McCartney immediately responded: “Sir Jasper Lennon, I presume?”.

They played together and it was like coming back to the old times. John felt an excitement he hadn’t felt for years. He was ready, he wanted to come back to him, to England, to Julian. But Yoko came back, and all the hopes and dreams suddenly fell away. In 1976 Paul was in New York and they saw each other again, he didn’t know that was the last time he ever saw John. In 1980 John felt depressed, cause Yoko was leaving him for another man, and he didn’t feel creative enough to write songs anymore. He wrote a desperateJust like starting over’ on the tune of the old 50s song he played with Paul, asking him to come back together. Paul was ready, John too. Destiny maybe not. John died, and left Paul full of regrets and words never said to him that he transformed into songs: ‘Here today’, ‘The lovers that never were’ ‘My brave face‘, just to mention some of them.

John is dead, Mclennon is over? Nope. Cause Paul will not just keep writing songs about John and their beautifully tragic love story, but he even got a song from John, from the afterlife. I’m not kidding. In 1981, Paul worked on his tribute album to John Lennon called Tug of War. One song in this album is Get It, to which he invited Carl Perkins. Carl loved the experience and the following morning he wrote My Old Friend for Paul in appreciation. In fact, he recounted to Paul that usually when he writes he needs a pen and a sheet of paper to record his thoughts on, but this time the words just stuck with him. He then played the song to Paul. And Paul, upon hearing the song, went out of the room crying. Linda who was left with Carl explained that Carl’s words hit Paul hard because John’s last words to Paul when they last met before he was shot down were, “”Think about me every now and then, old friend”, words, which Carl unknowingly put into this song. In an interview Carl Perkins said: “Paul was crying, tears were rolling down his pretty cheeks, and Linda said, ‘Carl, thank you so much.’ I said, ‘Linda, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you cry.’ She said, ‘But he’s crying, and he needed to. He hasn’t been able to really break down since that happened to John.’ And she put her arm around me and said, ‘But how did you know?’ I said, ‘Know what?’ She said, ‘There’s two people in the world that know what John Lennon said to Paul, the last thing he said to him. But now there’s three, and one of them’s you, you know it.’ I said, ‘Girl, you’re freaking me out! I don’t know what you’re talking about!’ She said that the last words that John Lennon said to Paul in the hallway of the Dakota building were, he patted him on the shoulder and said, ‘Think about me every now and then, old friend.’‘McCartney really feels that Lennon sent me that song, he really does.’”

Close friends to Paul revealed that he talks about John in the present tense, and sometimes he admits that when he is writing a song but can’t finish it, he asks John for help, feeling him by his side and always being able to correct it and finish it.

This is the story of two men who loved each other so deeply that they wrote the greatest songs of music history about it.

anonymous asked:

what did ryan adams say about 1989? how did he mansplain it?

he covered the entire album and the media kissed his ass so hard about it when all he did was strip down her songs in a vain attempt to sing us all the fuck to sleep, he kept talking about it like it was a good album but he could make it better (“I was listening to that record and thinking, ‘I hear more.’ It wasn’t like I wanted to change them because they needed changing, but I knew that if I sang them from my perspective and in my voice, they would transform. I thought, ‘Let me record 1989 like it was Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska’”), he changed all of lyrics so he wouldn’t sound Gay while singing (and completely left out ‘boys only want love if it’s torture’ and ‘darling i’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream’ in blank space?? excuse me sir?), and he just did something completely unnecessary to an already amazing album and got a huge pat on the back for literally mansplaining a woman’s hard work on her craft

and the fucker wrote ‘you’ve got that daydream nation look in your eye’ for style which just makes me want to die i hate what he did to 1989 and i know taylor was excited about it but please.

Damien & Mark's ROAD TRIP BANGERS
This is not canon. This is purely for crack-y fun.

(Crack mixes are going on this blog where they belong)

Okay, so an asker over on @thebrightsessions official tumblr knows that I will make basically any mix if prompted, so I made a Damien-and-Mark-Bro-Out-On-A-Road-Trip Mix. I have no so many regrets.

Track listing, with commentary by yours truly:

  1. You Give Love a Bad Name - Bon Jovi (the natural choice to start out any respectable road trip mix)
  2. Tom Sawyer - Rush
  3. Back to Black - ACDC (obviously)
  4. Island - The Starting Line (pop punk is the next step after 80s classics IMO)
  5. The Great Escape - Boys Like Girls (do you guys remember this band??? whatever happened to them? this album is great)
  6. Waking Up in Vegas - Katy Perry
  7. Run Away With Me - Carly Rae Jepsen (okay, someone on tumblr posted about how Damien would love Emotion and I can’t find the post anywhere but it has been HAUNTING ME because Emotion is absolutely an album that Damien would secretly love and I can’t believe I was called out like that. Also, Emotion is the best pop album in years, maybe ever.)
  8. Shut Up and Let Me Go - The Ting Tings (the ultimate dancing while driving song)
  9. Never Forget You - Noisettes
  10. Man! I Feel Like A Woman - Shania Twain (this is canon, don’t @ me)
  11. Ready to Run - The Dixie Chicks (duh!)
  12. Ride - Far Places (this whole playlist is a mix of silly things and great songs but they are all from actual road trip mixes I’ve made. This one is the newest addition - it is by Evan Cunningham’s band Far Places. Evan composes all the music for @thebrightsessions and is really awesome and you guys should buy his music)

Honorable mention: “Hold On” by Wilson Philips, which is the only song you ever need on the road but is too near and dear to my heart to put on this ridiculous thing.

(I’m so sorry)

Happy Hiatus!

He knew you loved music just as much as he did, but he never imagined you going through trainee years or debuting as an idol.

Guys

I legit cried today because Topp Dogg is so underrated

I cried listening to flower that is, like all the other songs in the album, a masterpiece.

Guys, i’m sure that if they are from a big company, they would be bursting South Korea right now.

All i ask for you is give Topp Dogg a chance.

Even if you didn’t like them before, their new album First Street is very different from they other stuff, and is pure gold. They have evolved greatly since then. Their dance is incredible as always.

You may not know, but they had their debut 3 years ago, and never won a single award on music shows. They didn’t enter the top 100 on charts this comeback yet. They had lost 4 members. And everytime someone big talks about them is to say bad things, and i’m not sure why??

I know you guys have your own favorites on kpop, that is hard to follow everything, but listen to them. If you don’t like it’s okay, but don’t let this chance pass. You can “lost” 5 minutes of your live giving them a chance, and it ends there. But you can also discover the best thing in your life. So why not?

If you are now curious about them, there is this post about the group and things to get into them.

Also, there is the comeback here. Rainy day is a beautiful song.

How to support them here.

Topp Klass, please help spread the word, our boys deverve attention. They deserve everything good. I’m trying so much… Thank you all that are doing your best, you are incredible. Love you guys.

You can share this on your social medias, you can share this everywhere.

Lets make Topp Dogg big!

Boyfriend JB

A/N - Time for JB as your boyfriend! I love doing these bc it makes me realise how much I want this in my life lol.

Mark | Jackson | Jinyoung | Youngjae | Bambam | Yugyeom

  • if Jaebum was your boyfriend, you two would the the definition of ‘life goals’
  • he knows how to treat his girl and make her feel special
  • firstly let’s talk about composer defsoul
  • he’d write so many songs for you
  • most of them wouldn’t make it onto albums but instead he’d self produce a little cd for you
  • and he’d give it to you while blushing and it’d be the cutest thing ever!
  • just imagine him all red in the face with his adorable smile as he handed you a cd with all these amazing songs just for you
  • and they’d all be so good and only you would get to hear them because you’re his girl
  • the songs would all range from super cute stuff to super sexy stuff
  • like one song would be about wanting to spend the rest of his life with you or something
  • and then another would list everything he wants to do to you and knows he will do later
  • he’d love to invite you to the studio as well so you can see him write lyrics or record some lines for a song
  • and if you could sing well, he’d want to record demos with you
  • when he’s not serenading you, JB would be such a cute boyfriend
  • people always make him out to be super dominant but I think with his girlfriend he wouldn’t actually be that dominant unless they’re in the bedroom
  • his girlfriend would have JB wrapped around her finger and he’d do literally anything for her
  • even if it’s 3am and she wants to go outside and watch the stars, he’d do it
  • the boys would constantly tease him whenever you called or texted him asking to buy you coffee after he’s finished with dance practise
  • but he wouldn’t care bc he loves treating his girl
  • we all know JB has an aversion to doing aegyo but he’d do it for his girlfriend without hesitation
  • as soon as she asks him, he’s straight away pulling some cute facial expression
  • and every time he sees her smile and giggle at the cuteness, he’d break out into the biggest grin
  • because seeing his girlfriend happy is the one thing he needs most life
  • now onto Jaebum in the bedroom…
  • so we all know he’d be dominant in the bedroom
  • daddy af
  • and all cuteness he showed before would disappear
  • it’s like when you see him on and then off stage
  • off stage he’s Im Jaebum, he’s an absolute sweetheart
  • and then on stage he’s JB, aka literal sex on legs
  • JUST IMAGINE THAT IN THE BEDROOM
  • like he’d say something really sweet to you and then it’s like flicking a switch and all of a sudden his voice is deeper and he’s looking at you with THOSE eyes
  • and whenever that happens, you know you’re going to be having fun tonight
  • but he’d always make sure he doesn’t force you into anything and would 100% be all about consent (as would all the boys)
  • he’d use the switch in control to get back at all the times you made him do aegyo
  • before you’d be begging for aegyo but now he’s making you beg for his body
  • and you loved every minute of it
  • but let’s face it, anyone would
  • overall, Jaebum would be the perfect combination of cute and sexy
  • he’d do anything and everything for you without hesitation
  • because you’re his entire world and he’d love you with every ounce of his being
DIVIDE REVIEW

Eraser: Eraser is easily one of Ed’s best and most honest raps I think he’s put out there. YNMIDNY and Take It Back have more the undertones of not giving a fuck about what the industry thinks and staying a step ahead while being aware of the darkness to avoid. Eraser shows the side of Ed I feel he had been trying to hide from us. It’s honest about his struggles and alludes to cocaine, which is a terrifying drug (not that he needs to be told).  It seems to be an almost apology for the wrong turns he’s made throughout his career; to us, to his family and friends, and to himself. I think this song is the perfect reminder as to why Ed took his year long break to find himself and his happiness again and for that reason it is a perfect opener for this album. It forever warms my heart endlessly to know Ed trusts us with songs like this that are so brutally honest and full of his deepest emotions. I feel happy that he can open up and get these feelings out, but I hope he never feels like he needs to apologize to us for things like this. This is a reminder that celebrities are real people too, just like you and me. It can’t be easy to live under a microscope all the time. I hope he knows how much we love and appreciate him. We are well aware he is not a perfect person and it is totally acceptable to make these mistakes and lose yourself because everyone does.

Castle on the Hill: I remember when Ed dropped this song and Shape of You at the same time, I was immediately drawn to this one despite the ABSOLUTE BOP that Shape of You is. It made me feel so nostalgic for a childhood that wasn’t even mine and that is an amazing talent that no other artist has ever really made me feel (besides when I was 4 and first heard ‘butterfly kisses’ with my dad). This song made me, for the first time in my entire existence, feel nostalgic for my home town, I remember being back on campus in the city and crying in my bed about home AND I WAS MISERABLE IN MY HOME TOWN. I have always heard that nostalgia is a dirty liar and they would be right. But I found that, even though I hated home, I felt a longingness to be there and was reminded of the little moments of drinking in corn field at my friends barn and running through fences when the neighbors called the cops, of driving down every country road around my house with my dog or best friend listening to music, of all the little memories Ed sang about. It gave me an over powering feeling of excitement for the future; to look back and feel happy and whole at my life as ed does. As I have said so many times, I feel blessed to be alive at the same time as an artist like Ed Sheeran. He trusts us with these personal feelings. Hearing this song reminded me a lot of the same sensation I got from watching the Photograph music video. I felt like he had let us into such a different point in his life, before fame and music and before we existed in the same world. Letting us into his childhood and pre-fame life is such a big deal and he has no obligation to tell us anything about his past. I’m lucky to love an artist that acts as our friend in telling us childhood stories and secrets.

Dive: This one if for sure in the top 3 best of this album. I love the beat and the whole idea of starting a relationship and being nervous on whether or not to trust them or to just dive in. I think this might be the most relatable and best song both lyrically and sound wise on this album. Also, I low key see this as an Ath*na drag… do with that what you will.

Shape of You: I’m very happy Ed released this song first because it’s catchy and attracted more people to the album and him in general. It’s a very different sound and at first listen, I thought it was the SING of divide and didn’t love it, though it is an absolute tune. As I listen to it more, the more I really hear the lyrics. I appreciate a big star like Ed writing a song about the female body without degrading it. Also, he is talking about the entire shape of the female body; any and all types. As someone who has struggled with eating disorders and body image issues, it actually made me tear up a bit when he talked about appreciating the female body because the media usually puts pressure on women to look a certain way that isn’t possible and I guess I just really love Ed’s appreciation of women in every sense that he does. Also, that music video actually killed me and is absolute perfection. *cough**cough* SHIRTLESS ED!!

Perfect: I knew this song would be my favorite on the album because Ed had told us that this song was about Cherry and you all know how hard I ship them. Lyrically this song is beautiful. I think it really shows a very happy and in love side of Ed that we didn’t really get in + or x and I love that he is happy now. It is the purest song I have ever heard and an amazing change of pace from all of Ed’s other love songs because it’s not so sad. Thank you Ed for sharing yet another extremely personal part and emotion in your life. Cherry is extremely lucky to have such a beautiful song written for her AND I BETTER BE INVITED TO THIS WEDDING.

Galway Girl: This song makes me want to take Irish dancing again like I did when I was 4 years old just so I have the proper dance moves for this tour. I really appreciate hearing Ed say “pretty little” and sing about Irish girls. I had heard that this song wasn’t approved by his label because I guess Irish folk music isn’t popular but bitch now it is. I appreciate that Ed has always felt he could stay true to himself and where he comes from in his music. He is always 100% honest and embodies his roots, even when it’s not “the popular” thing to do. He had always talked about how important it is for artists to break in America to make it big, so most artists gear their art towards the American audience; Ed, though, has always kept it diverse and different. He further emphasizes the importance of being yourself to be the most successful you can be. Without realizing it, Ed has influenced and inspired so many people, whether it be in pursuing a musical career or just going out and doing what you want regardless of what anyone says. What a guy, what a bop.

Happier: This one was such a tease because I was really expecting a happy song but instead I got my heart ripped out. I think this goes with New Man because it’s about moving on from someone. It’s very heartbreaking to see someone you loved be happier with someone else and learn to be okay with it because if you really loved them you’d be happy for them regardless on if it includes you. This is another + vibes song and a sad song, and I live for the sad songs.

New Man: This song is a great change in pace and it gets goofy but is also serious. This is part of The Holy TrinityTM: YNMIDNY, Take It Back, and now New Man. This is such a drag on the fuck boys and I appreciate it and the fact that, even big famous popstar Ed, isn’t a fuck boy. This song drags this New Man to the deepest pits of hell with a catchy beat and lyrics about bleached assholes. Clearly this song is the quality content we all expected on this album and this honestly has to be in my top 3 favorite tracks on this album.

Hearts Don’t Break Around Here: For whatever reason, I really thought this was going to be the next Take It Back. I thought it was going to be a rap but again I WAS WRONG. This is the only time I actually enjoy being wrong and I should just learn to expect it with Ed because he’s always doing some type of shit to surprise us. It ended up being one of the sweetest songs on the album. It really continues on from Perfect and it makes my heart feel so full when I think of how happy he is now. As a fan, I think our job is to support his career but also respect his personal life and encourage his happiness; even if that doesn’t include us. This song just fills my heart and warms me at the thought of the place someone must be in to write songs like this. I feel lucky to hear it and anyone who has been through heart break and come out the other side can relate to the complete feeling you find in someone that you know won’t do that to you again. Ed somehow has the talent to make me feel in love when I’m not and has the ability to articulate the sweetest and purest feelings through amazing lyrics and song.

What Do I Know: To be completely honest, this is my least favorite song on the album and the only one I don’t really like. Ed had said his favorite lyric was in this song (Love can change the world) but I personally find it generic. Whoops. I do like the beat and how he mentioned his father. This album has such a big emphasis on family and love, so lyrically it related to that. But yeah not my favorite so I gtg.

How Would You Feel (Paean): I love this song and I’m adding it to the second Holy TrinityTM on this album: Perfect, Hearts Don’t Break Around Here, and How Would You Feel. These all truly embrace the happy and in love feeling of this album and of course I love any song about Cherry. The story behind this song actually makes me kind of laugh because Ed had only just reconnected with Cherry a week before writing this and he says he loves her. I actually really do love the sound of this song, though to be honest it’s not my favorite on the album or lyrically. I think I didn’t dismiss this song because of the back story of it. I think this song has a very + feel to it about being young and innocently in love and I really live for that. It’s a very soft and beautifully written insight to the very precious and personal time in their relationship.

Supermarket Flowers: OH GOD HERE COMES THE WATER WORKS. This song killed me just like I had expected. Ed has always been incredible at writing songs in honor of other people. I think this song killed me just as much as Afire Love did because I had just lost my great grandmother a week before this album was released. I felt an incredible connection to putting someone to rest and getting supermarket flowers to decorate their grave. It’s heartbreaking but also peaceful to know they are at rest. “you are an angel in the shape of my mom” killed me because I have never heard someone describe having an angel in such a beautiful way, as well as “heaven singing hallelujah you’re home” describing the peace that comes at knowing someone’s at rest. He wrote this song for his mother and played it at his grandmother’s funeral, which is so personal and beautiful.

Barcelona: Hearing Ed sing in Spanish was beautiful and amusing because I don’t think it was proper Spanish, but again I love the very worldly vibes that came with this album. I think this year off was both good for Ed’s mental health and his sound. It’s not only lyrically diverse but also sound and culture diverse and I love it. I feel like I’m traveling around the world listening to this album.

Bibi Be Ye Ye: I was especially excited for this song because I knew it was the song he wrote in Africa. This song truly embodies the theme of Divide and its diverse sounds. I remember when x came out and people were complaining that he “sold out” to pop and lost his sound, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I was pleasantly surprised that Ed took such a big leap in sound and really changed his image and I loved it. He got to experiment and find himself in x and I think that gave way to his confidence to make Divide because he did so well last time with the diversity. I appreciate the he takes sounds from all over the world and represents other cultures while still respecting them and of course giving them credit. This is also such a BOP and the upbeat kind of song that it going to make everyone dance at his concerts.

Nancy Mulligan: This is an absolute BOP and the story behind it is amazing. It’s quite amazing that he wrote a song in the point of view of his grandfather, much like how I was blown away by Small Bump. The idea that he could embody the view point of a love story that happened years before he was born is quite amazing. One of the things I enjoyed most about this album was his focus on love and family and this song fuses them together with a very Irish sound. When this song title came up on the track list before the album was dropped, I was very curious to find out who this song was about because WHO IS NANCY? Ed being Ed didn’t fail to let us in on not only his very personal life but also his grandparents love story, which is quite an amazing tale. Like so many of Ed’s songs, I felt like I was almost invading someone personal space or listening in to a deep conversation that I was not part of. It is so personal and no matter how many times Ed is open and honest with us, I still get blown away; especially with this song in the fact that he references his grandmother in the point of view of his late grandfather. His story telling skills forever give me chills and take my breath away. I can only imagine what his grandmother must feel listening to this.

Save Myself: Jesus I was not ready for this song. It had so much pain in it and it kills me to know how greedy and selfish people are towards people who give and are the most selfless. It worries me a lot about Ed, but again I think this song compliments Eraser. He really needed the break from fame and especially his phone. I hope Ed learns to say no and to learn to be a little more selfish when it comes to giving people things, and I hope people who took and took from him learn to be more appreciative. I could say so much more about that, but I think I’ve rambled enough.

So, overall I think this is the best album Ed wrote and I love every song on it, which is a first! He was so open and honest with us about his family, emotions, love, pain, and loss. I appreciate Ed and all he gives us. Love you Ed, I wish you a long life xx

I have a bit of an odd thing to ask I think? Do you have or do you know where I can get a list of all the songs that GOT7 members took part in or completely composed themselves, as in wrote lyrics for? Also, do you know of a list of all the songs that GOT7 members have recommended from their own music or from other artists?

I can’t answer your 2nd question because I haven’t seen a list like this and there are members who recommended so many songs (for example JB, Junior or Youngjae) that it would be difficult for me to list them.

As for the first question, I’ll try to do it myself.

So it seems we have the most controversial songs written before Jamaica, probably written with the participation of someone who was also living in that situation. The biggest SOTT song was written in 4 hours, which to me is simply a conclusion that they need to get away from it all. And your first song in Jamaica was just a declaration of love? I believe that in 50 years, Harry and Louis will be a legend never seen, because their intelligence and their lyrics will be studied for years and years.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I don’t take this photo as a sign that Harry lied maliciously or is trying to deceive the public.

NOT AT ALL, just to clarify where I stand.

Maybe he can’t remember exactly when each song was written. Maybe they weren’t completely written, but were in bits and pieces of lyrics, melodies, etc.

Maybe he had specific songs he really wanted to write, and these fragments were already written in his journal. These are songs that clearly meant a lot to him, because they were culled out from 70 other fragments & 30 completed songs to be organized together, as an album. So I’d say that he had an idea what was going into the album early on.

The early songs were (at least that we know of): Two Ghosts, Sweet Creature (aka Complicated Freak?), Kiwi, and Meet Me in the Hallway. All conceived before May 7, 2016.

It’s very possible that they weren’t “finished” products at that point. Lyrics might have been changed, added, removed after that.

Everyone can think how they want to, but I would like to ask that you give Harry a little breathing room.

He is human. He might have reasons for doing what he’s doing. He might not be able to explain everything to the fandom. Be kind to him and to each other.

underrated songs from bands that had “one hit song”

You know what I’m talking about. A song gets overplayed on the radio and everyone eventually starts to hate it. But what about their other songs? Maybe they have potential? The radio can ruin songs for us, that’s why I limit my radio listening. I’ve always wanted to write out a list of songs from artists that have that “one hit song” that everyone knows. I’m just writing each one as it comes to mind, so the list will probably be all over the place. enjoy.
