be half

This might be more fever dream talking, but I’m making my way through the various SDCC interviews (which I’ve honestly not done before, but I feel like I should do my homework) and here’s something interesting:

Dabb is talking about alternate worlds. Plural.

On the surface that doesn’t seem all that exciting, but then I’m just thinking about what this show is and how it tends to tell stories… and there’s no way we visit an AU without purpose. Dabb confirms that SPN is a character driven show (“Sam, Dean, and Castiel”), so, really: the only reason to visit an AU is to show the characters something about themselves. Think of the AUs we’ve encountered so far, like The End or The French Mistake.

And after comparing the years of SPN to making a pizza in the most bizarre way possible, Jared talks about the “meta episode where we play ourselves,” and how the fans loved it, and how they could do more of that, and then came to the conclusion that the show has now figured out “who it is.”

Anyone else thinking we could be staring down the barrel of the most meta season ever?

what she says: I’m fine

what she means: fuck everything. Noctis Lucis Caelum never deserved any of this. He was going to his own marriage ceremony when his whole world crumbled down: his father died by the hands of the empire of Nilfheim, with which they were in a period of armistice. This not only means he had his father snatched away from him without even having said one last goodbye, but he has even had his trust broken, because what should have been a pact, something that people should respect, was ignored. His father said goodbye to him without telling him he was going to die even if he already knew that, and Noctis never noticed any of that, so he lives now with the regret of never having properly told him everything he wanted to. He can’t even grieve his death: he is forced to become king when he is just a young adult who has just lost his father. Noctis is a broken man who is forced to put up a strong front because he now represents a whole country, and has to be strong for his people, even if that means destroying his whole self. Fuck this. Noctis doesn’t deserve this. Leave him the hell alone.

Gosh I Love Movies (12/?): Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003) dir. Quentin Tarantino

I had a pretty damned good day, y’all. Well, most of it was pretty standard work stuff, but then there was this conversation with my boss.

Boss: Good news, your promotion finally went through HR, it should be officially done this pay period.

Me: Excellent, thank you!

Boss: Your salary will now be [number WAY higher than I expected to hear].

Me: *gapes*

Boss: And you’ll be getting back pay to the time I originally requested the promotion.

Me: Um. Thank you?

Me: *leaves office and freaks out*

So that happened.
