DARE (A) with 2D please??? Thank you!

A/N: When this was already ready to post yesterday but I just flat out forgot to😅 also i know it’s short but in my honest unprofessional opinion I think it’s nice so I hope you guys think so too 💓

You were quietly humming to yourself while cooking dinner as you let the your music playlist play as background noise. Suddenly DARE came on and quietly humming gradually became singing and dancing, occasionally using the spoon you were using to stir as a microphone.

Stuart had finished a day in the studio with the band. Everyone else went out but 2D decided to stay back this time, as you had mentioned something about making dinner tonight. When he came home and walked into the kitchen, he leaned on the frame of the wall and smiled at the sight of you swinging your hips and bopping your head the the music. That’s when an idea popped into his head. He grabbed another spoon from the drawer quietly and began singing Shaun Ryder’s part, doing a really bad impersonation of him and kissing your cheek to greet you. His stupid dancing and impersonation made you laugh really hard, encouraging him to go crazier. You eventually join along and start dancing around with him, doing the head slide (bc that’s apparently the name) twirling, shimmy, every ridiculous dance in the book.

As the song ended, your laughs died down and you finished cooking.
“Hello Stu. Dinners ready by the way,” you laugh, actually greeting him while grabbing a couple of plates. 2D hold your waist, hiding his smile in you neck as he says “I love you.”
You turn around, stuck between him and the counter and kiss his nose.
“I love you too. Now hurry up and go wash your hands.”
“Alright alright geez, what are you? A mom,” he ask sarcastically, a goofy smile on his face as he kisses your cheeks before running off.
“Haha..yeah.” You say to yourself, grabbing the tiny box with your pregnancy test in it when he’s out of sight.
“Maybe soon.”

you should write something about cor and aravis 😎

not that you’re at all biased, Meredith :) here you are, it’s much longer than anticipated but I hope I’ve done your favourite ship justice ♡

The first time Cor ever saw her, he hadn’t thought her particularly beautiful. Then again, he had only been a boy at the time, and the circumstances of their meeting had not been ideal. He had thought her much the same as any of the girls he had ever come across as a child; thin and boring with far too much hair to do anything practical. Most importantly, no girl he had ever met had ever wanted to play with him in his games of extensive make-believe, so he had come to believe that girls had practically no real function.

Aravis, somehow, had managed to change all that. He saw that maybe…just maybe…this girl could be a little different. Even so, he hadn’t really looked at her for a good few years after their escapade. He had always been shorter than her (of which she constantly reminded him and irritated him no end), but at the age of sixteen, he grew almost six inches in six months, and suddenly he could brag of being taller. It was then that something – something he couldn’t quite put his finger on – stirred inside him. He liked the few inches that separated them, and the way she could so easily rest her head on his shoulder. When she laughed, sometimes she would press her forehead just below the curve of his neck, and he could freely admire the way her dark hair fell in waves around her shoulders and shone in the sunlight.

One day, all of a sudden, he could see how her loose gowns, once hanging off her thin and childish frame, fell around her new shape. He noticed how the warm hues she wore complemented her skin.

And he felt utterly inadequate.

His own brother would, quite innocently, remark that Aravis was looking especially nice at some occasion or other, and a sharp stap of what felt uncannily like jealously would pull at his gut. He would sit up a little straighter in his chair and try to banish the feelings. He was sure it was all a phase. But as the years passed, he realised it might have been something more. Something rather scary and new, which he felt very ill-equipped to deal with.

It was late one night, as the last dances of the night were drawing to an end, that Cor felt he simply must tell her. If he kept it inside him any longer, he was positive he would burst. So he watched as she danced with an elderly Lord, her laughter ringing off the walls, until the dance ended and he set his plan in motion. Corin seemed able to read his thoughts. As Cor rose, his brother took one look at his shaky hands and grinned enormously, raising his eyebrows and nodding.

Cor felt he might throw up. He curled his hands into fists at his side and tried to steady his breathing. Curses on this girl for having such an effect on him!

“My lady Aravis,” he said quietly behind her. She was just bidding farewell to her dance partner, but whipped around immediately. Was it his imagination, or did her cheeks colour ever so slightly?

“Sir.” She curtsied and met his eyes only briefly. Her own eyes were still bright, though, and she seemingly couldn’t stop herself from smiling.

“I wondered…” he began, stopping mid-sentence to clear his throat. “I wondered if I might claim you for the final dance of the night.”

She grinned in her childish way. He had always wondered if she might grow out of her enormous smile, but she never had. Not that he minded.

Her hand resting familiarly in the crook of his arm, the couple made their way onto the floor. There were only about ten pairs who were both available and coherent enough to attempt the final dance. As the orchestra commenced, there was silence between the pair. Cor was staring somewhere above Aravis’ head, wracking his brains for how to begin. If he had been watching her face, he would have seen her dark eyes watching him intently, a flicker of a smile playing on her lips. It was as if she could see his turmoil but was content to wait for him to compose his thoughts.

“So,” he eventually settled on, “have you had a nice evening?”

She smirked, but he didn’t notice. “Very pleasant.”

He nodded. “Good.”

There was another silence.

“Forgive me, but our conversations are usually far more lively than this,” Aravis snidely remarked after a few moments had elapsed. “Perhaps there is something on your mind. Something you may like to share?”

He looked sharply down at her, and was startled by the intensity of her gaze which met his. Her brown eyes reflected the candlelight and appeared even darker than usual. A joke was there, waiting, but he was sure he could see something else. Something which he couldn’t name, but made his stomach turn over.

“Yes,” he replied abruptly, spinning her away and then back to him. “Yes.” He nodded again. He could have kicked himself for being such a tongue-tied idiot. Why couldn’t he just tell her?

He could feel her gaze steadily trained on his face, and it made his whole body go hot and then cold. If he dared to look at her, he knew he could never say it, and then the dance would be over without him having achieved his objective. He simply could not let that happen.

“Look, Aravis…” he said in a low voice, quickly checking on the other remaining couples. They were all too engrossed in each other to be paying him any attention. “There’s something I want to tell you…I feel like I should have told you this a long time ago, but I wasn’t sure…but now I’m sure. I don’t think I’ve ever been more sure of anything in my whole life.” He still couldn’t look at her. His whole mouth was dry and his palms were damp, but he had begun now. He couldn’t stop. “The thing is…I think…I think I may…I love you, Aravis.” There! He had said it! “I’m sorry if I’ve upset you, or…or if you don’t feel the same way, but I thought you should know. I love you. I’m not sure how long I’ve loved you for…maybe ever since I met you, I’m not sure…but now I know. I’ve been fighting it and fighting it for years, but tonight I had to tell you, and–” He was cut off by the feeling of her cheek against his neck. It almost made him explode. Her head rested on his shoulder as she wound her arms tightly around his waist. For a moment, he wasn’t sure how to react. His hands hovered at her shoulders, but he didn’t dare touch her. What would she say?

Still not looking at him, she grabbed his hand and dragged him out of one of the hall doors. It was dark and cold as they stepped onto a small patio, but somehow he didn’t notice. She turned sharply and looked into his eyes for the first time in a good few minutes. He couldn’t help noticing how the starlight glinted in her eyes.

“Do you mean it?” she whispered, her voice laced with a smile. “Cor, do you really mean it?”

He nodded hesitantly, his mouth now so dry that he couldn’t bring himself to speak.

And then she laughed, and he wished for the ground to open up and swallow him whole. She was laughing at him! How could he ever show his face to her again? It was just as he had feared. She didn’t feel the same. Why should she, after all? She was so beautiful, and he was so…useless.

So engrossed was he in wallowing in his failure that he almost didn’t register her hands clutching at the neckline of his tunic. What he did register, though – very vividly so – was the glorious feeling of her kissing him. He had often imagined what it would be like to kiss her, but this was so much more. She kissed him hard; this was her response. She didn’t need to say a word. As her lips pressed against his and her hands found the nape of his neck and tangled themselves in his hair, he thought he might just be dreaming.

When she finally pulled away, she rested her forehead against his, standing on her tiptoes to match their height difference, and looked at him with such love in his eyes that he was sure he would burst with happiness.

“I love you, Cor,” she whispered; his breath hitched in his throat. “I love you too.”

  • yoosung does this all the time and he says its bc his university has too many weird confusing doors but actually its bc hes easily distracted by thoughts of LOLOL and Seven

Who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside them

  • seven is a huge nerd and definitely does this

Who starts the tickle fights

  • seven, but its always a risk bc i feel like he’s honestly more ticklish than yoosung so he has to bank on yoosung not fighting back

Who starts the pillow fights

  • i think they mutually declare pillow war when they pillow fight tbh! but theyre both such desires that maybe neither of them even owns a pillow

Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile

  • hard to say! probably seven but i think when they finally go to sleep they’re usually so tired that they pass out almost right away!

Who mistakes salt for sugar

  • seven mostly but yoosung is not immune

Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morning

  • seven! and yoosung would be annoyed except that he’s always up super late anyways so hes never actually asleep

JuminV (I got way too into this i am SORRY)

Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling/vice versa

  • V,,,the poor man is extremely visually impaired what do you want from him it’s inevitable that he’s gonna fuck this up. Jumin tries to always get to the doors first to save him the awkward moment but sometimes he’s just Not Fast Enough

Who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside them

  • You’d better believe they both did this when they were in school together. Jumin is so awkward about it he does it once and immediately erases it out of embarrassment whereas V does it, feels bad about defacing the desk, takes a quick picture of it then wipes the desk clean (he looks at the picture sometimes n blushes,,,sorry I think they were tiny mutually pining babies back in their Childhood Days)

Who starts the tickle fights

  • V for sure, sometimes Jumin is super grump when he gets home from work so he Must Tickle to cheer up his bf

Who starts the pillow fights

  • Also V, but Jumin gets really into it. Feathers are everywhere. This is a mess. You’d better replace these goddamnit Jumin

Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile

  • Jumin tends to fall asleep late anyway so he for sure is the last one to go, plus he adores watching V all peaceful and serene (it’s times like that where he loves V so much he feels like his heart will burst)

Who mistakes salt for sugar

  • These are too easy to pin on the blind guy of COURSE V’s gonna do this once or twice and Jumin laughs at him when he does

Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morning

  • Neither of them,, they’re both too polite and considerate and even if that did happen whoever did it would apologize profusely (Jumin would probably offer to replace the microwave with one that’s less loud bc he’s Mr. Moneybags n all)

Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines

  • It would have to be V (did you know the man used the same ‘long time no see’ joke twice in one route?? This guy) and it’s the best because you wouldn’t expect it out of him so when he does throw a pick-up line at Jumin he gets super flustered which makes V ridiculously happy

Who rearranges the bookshelf in alphabetical order

  • Jumin, especially bc V’s bookshelves are probably absolute disasters (“I dont even like..read anymore Jumin you really don’t need to do that” “It was bothering me okay”)

Who licks the spoon when they’re baking brownies

  • Jumin,,, guilty motherfucker

Who buys candles for dinners even though there’s no special occasion

  • 100% Jumin he is SO EXTRA every dinner has candles and a bouquet of roses adorning thr table

Who draws little tattoos on the other with a pen

  • I think V especially did this when they were back in school together n it was cute af and now he’ll occasionally draw a heart or whatever on Jumin’s wrist so he can cover it with his cuff and Jumin will look at it during the day and smile

Who comes home with a new souvenir magnet every time they go on vacation

  • Jumin, but only because V said once that he thought having one would be cute, maybe you could bring one back for me? and once you ask Jumin for something you’d better expect it in spades

Who convinces the other to fill out those couple surveys in the back of magazines

  • Def V and Jumin will gripe about how stupid they are but he secretly enjoys them
