bbq sandwiches

10

All the amazing amazing amazing food I got a Vegan Soulfest in Baltimore on Saturday. This was like one of the best days of my life. A vegan festival filled with Black people. I was in heaven! It was an awesome event, I enjoyed it way more than the 2 vegfests I’ve been too. There were tons of vendors selling tons of stuff but I’m a sucker for food so that was priority #1

But yea everything was delicious. I brought a lot of it home because I couldn’t eat that much food in one day! I got lots of mac & cheese and vegan chicken, a rib sandwich, a cheese steak, chocolate chip cookies, carrot cake. The mac and cheese in the last 2 pictures is my fav, it’s from Sweet & Natural and the drumsticks above are too good for this world. I had way too much fun throwing money at people… Black people :))))

“Well we are fixing that right now, sit down.”

“Do we have to? I’m hungry.”

“Tough cookies, we are watching this movie. Now, hush.”

“Do you have cookies?”

“No, now shut up, Buck.”

“Fine. But you owe me a BBQ sandwich later.”

Later that evening in the kitchen…

“Just keep swimming…. Just keep swimming…”

“What was that, Bucky?”

“Nothin’.”

The next day in the training room…

“BUCKY! What are you doing?!?”

“I touched the butt.”

Later that week while visiting the aquarium….

“I shall call him squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my squishy.”

“Bucky, you can’t have a squid for a pet.”

The next month at a staff meeting…

“I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food.”

“We are never watching any movies ever again.”

The next movie night…

“Hey Y/N, what’s this movie called “Frozen” about?”

“You’ll hate it, pick Rambo.”

Are you doing McHanzo headcanons? If so, how about their wedding, any hcs about what that'd be like? (who'd show up, the service, the best mans (?), etc.)

It’s a small, very private affair away from the public. They aren’t trying to hide it but Hanzo doesn’t want to worry about what other people are thinking. He only wants to focus on Jesse and the new beginning.

Genji is a mess. Ma McCree is quiet, hands folded on the top of her cane. Her eyes are moist.

Hanzo wears traditional marriage garb and Jesse wears a sports jacket and of course cowboy boots. They write their own vows. Jesse crying before he even starts. Hanzo makes it all the way to the end before he cracks. Just a few tears, leaning into kiss away Jesse’s.

“I will always care for your sorrows, Jesse.”

“I’ll never leave ya crying.”

The kiss is reserved, met with cheers from their small gathering. Genji and Zen clapping and crying. Ma McCree kisses them both on the cheek and gives out tissues.

Everyone in Overwatch is at the reception, loud terribly cheesy music. Plenty of alcohol and greasy BBQ food sandwiched between mochi and cupcakes. Even Gabe shows up, just briefly to hug Jesse and wish them both well.  He can’t stay long, still on the run from his time as Reaper.

Showered with love, the two idiots dance the night away until the reception hall is empty. Workers cleaning up the food and wiping down tables but they just can’t say goodbye to the moment.

Holding onto the small bubble of heaven as long as they could, just them.
