Awesome Megafauna Skulls!

My last weird and awesome skull post was really popular, so I decided to do one about something else I’m excessively interested in: Megafauna! This isn’t at all a comprehensive list of the coolest ones, not by a long shot, so you should definitely look up some of the BBC docs on Youtube or google ones from your continent!

The cave bear! (N. America)

‘Hell Pigs’ (N. America) Actually entelodonts, unrelated to pigs at all and more closely tied to hippos and cetaceans! Dat sagittal crest amirite

The Stag Moose  @allosauroid brought to my attention that this is the skull of the Irish elk, Megaloceros, not a stag moose! (Eurasia) Which stood 6 foot at the shoulder/withers

Platybelodon (widespread) Google artist renditions of these guys, you won’t be disappointed

Barbourofelis! (N. America) Like a smaller smilodon, with much cooler teeth. Look at those incisors!

Megatherium (S. America) Primitive sloths the size of elephants!

Titanus Walleri (N. America) Other continents had equally large if not larger ‘terror birds’

Paraceratherium (Eurasia) One of the largest terrestrial mammals we’ve ever discovered. It was actually a species of hornless rhino! Google artist recs of these guys, too

Diprotodon (Australia) The largest known marsupial, which was the size of a hippopotamus and stood 6 feet tall

I saved Glyptodon (S. America) for last, because these things have some of the weirdest skulls I’ve ever seen. They were technically armadillos, but reached the size of a Volkswagen Beetle!

Do you have any film recommendations about people in or joining a cult?

I KNEW THIS DAY WOULD COME

Documentaries:

  • Scientology - Leah Remini’s A&E series, Going Clear, My Scientology Movie, Scientology and Me, The Secrets of Scientology
  • FLDS - Sons of Perdition, Prophet’s Prey, Banking on Heaven,
  • Jonestown - Paradise Lost, Deceived: The Jonestown Tragedy, The Life and Death of the People’s Temple, Jonestown (PBS)
  • Manson Family - The Man Who Killed the 60s, Six Degrees of Helter Skelter. If you like Podcasts, You Must Remember This did a great series on Charles Manson (and is a great podcast that does other topics if ur not into true crime)
  • Branch Davidian’s - A New Revelation, Waco: The Rules of Engagement, Waco Siege (these are more about the disastrous fallout w/ the FBI but I had to shoutout to my hometown cult lol)
  • Aum Shinrikyo - A (1998), A2 (2001), The Last Podcast on the Left has a great series about this (and a ton of other cults). Their humor is very like shock jock bro-y though, so def. not for everyone.

Other misc documentaries: Tickled (this is technically not about a cult…. but it’s about a rich dude who sets up “tickle cells” to make tickle fetish porn and it’s fucking crazy!!!!) Jesus Camp, Inside Story: Heaven’s Gate (BBC Doc), The Source Family, Holy Hell, God Willing, The End of the World Cult, Fear is the Master, Death of the Solar Temple

Narrative films about cults: Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Master, Red State, Children of the Corn, Ticket to Heaven, The Sacrament

Yo help me make a list of all of the best ENTP characters

Ok, whenever I’m out looking for a good MBTI character to represent our type, I realize how few ENTPs are actually portrayed in entertainment. So, I’m starting a working list of all of the ENTPs that I can think of in fiction. Please add on if you want. But don’t argue with me, I know some of these are borderline when it comes to whether or not they’re ENTP, but I promise that if you fight me, you’ll lose.

-Tony Stark (Iron Man)

-Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean)

-Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones)

-Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek)

-Jack Skellington (A Nightmare Before Christmas)

-The Joker (Batman Series)

-Shawn Spencer (Psych)

-James Moriarty (BBC Sherlock)

-Doc Brown (Back to the Future)

-Mark Watney (The Martian)

-Deadpool (Marvel)

-Chandler Bing (Friends)

-Barney Stinson (How I Met Your Mother)

That’s all I have for now… also, where are all the lady ENTPs?! Why are there so few of them?!

Huh, didn’t know BBC did a mini-doc on Pete Dunne. Very interesting to watch.

real thoughts on the doc evidence/devil’s advocate:

the diamonds in the rough post doesn’t convince me. there are no shops with that from what i can find on their old street, and it’s a very … generic picture anyways. i just looked it up, and the hairdresser’s place is literally 8 and a half miles from their old apartment, across the damn thames… the man probably lives in london, he’d find something like that just walking around. now to why they are following on twitter: they are probably working on something together, i won’t deny that. but… i don’t think we have enough proof that it’s about them specifically? like i think we’ve always seen dan want to expand into the film making world (see bbc doc), and this is possibly a doc on something that has touched their lives and wanted to express it. now… with the rainbow emoji instastory thing… it may well be a doc about queer issues. interviewing queer people. exploring that… who knows… but it just doesn’t seem like them to talk about themselves for god’s sake. the rough week could be exploring and looking at all those hardships ppl have gone through, who knows, perhaps it struck close to home. and i mean, it’s the guy’s job… he probably makes and oversees a ton of films made. the post of digitial love doesn’t convince me either, as it was just a personal instagram post and on valentines day… why would you post something vauging a client… seems weird and unprofessional. anyways, who knows what this project is, it’s probably something close to them but going to the extent that it’s about their relationship or even queer issues is almost pushing it, but hey those are just my thoughts. feel free to shoot a message.

Do you know who was the maker of the documentary "Congo Music History"? I saw it on YouTube but it has been taken down, I am trying to find it again, any clues?

It was a BBC doc so you might be able to find it again.
