Good morning Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter and FB fam. Just want to start this morning out right, with positive reinforcement of #fitness.

Fitness is supposed to enhance our life. Sport and fitness is supposed to teach us lessons about how to better conduct our life in a positive and productive way. We strive to be better each day in fitness, #health, spirituality and all things we do. It gives us a means to achieve and put into practice some of our moral obligations. From fairness, to hard work and commitment, fitness and sport is here to enhance that.

So last year when #Reebok and #crossfit set out together with this message to cheat on your girlfriend and not your workout, I struggled to comprehend how these powerful forces in our industry could not only pervert fitness at the fundamental root of what exercise is about with application to health, longevity and safety, but also begin a deterioration of the mental positive reinforcements of things like commitments to others; particularly the people we care about.

As a married man, I see my commitment to my wife as the utmost importance as a matter of fact it is not above or below my personal fitness, but an integral part, because our relationship is rooted in love and the love of God. Now follow me on this if you will.

My love of God is like that of my parent. If my parents give me a gift, I’m going to take good care of it right? So my body is this gift from God that I cherish. Now, my wife is also a gift from God and the maintenance of our relationship requires that the both maintain ourselves not only as gifts from God, but as gifts to each other. So when I neglect my physical being, I am neglecting my spirituality and thus neglecting a part of the bond between us.

I struggled to figure out how I would confront or combat this message in the bottom half of the picture until this morning when I came across the above half written by Bonnie Pfiester. It so eloquently brings our relationships back to the level it needs to be with our fitness; Neither one below or above, but equivalent and integrated with a common theme and message.

Have a great day!!
