DIY Magical Shower Disks

So you have seen our lovely bath magic spells but you cannot take a bath. Maybe you don’t have a bath in your current residence, maybe you are physically unable to use bathtubs, maybe you’re just super stretched for time but want to get in some extra magical umph. Recreational Witchcraft is here for you.

Shower disks are traditionally used in the aromatherapy world to relieve congestion and other flu-symptoms while showering via the use of essential oils, but we will be bumping up their magical potential.

Basic recipe:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1/3 cup of water
  • Muffin tins and muffin liners

Combine baking soda and corn starch (making sure there are no clumps), then slowly add in the water. Fill lined muffin tins about third of the way, then leave out for 24 hours to dry completely. Carefully take them out of the liners, add your essential oils, and place your disk somewhere in your shower that will allow them to dissolve slowly while you do your business. Bam. You’re done.

Now onto the magic. All dry ingredients (herbs, spices, etc) should be added in with the baking soda and corn starch before the water is added. All essential oils should be added right before they’re used (so when they’re completely dry).

Cleansing and Purifying:

  • essential oil of rosemary
  • essential oil of lemongrass
  • dried peppermint leaves
  • dried lemon rinds
  • dried rosemary

Protection:

  • essential oil of lavender
  • essential oil of eucalyptus
  • dried basil leaves
  • dried lavender flowers
  • pinch of ground cloves

Glamour:

  • essential oil of sweet orange
  • essential oil of rose
  • essential oil of jasmine
  • crushed red rose petals
  • pinch of (body safe) glitter

Attracting Love:

  • vanilla extract
  • essential oil of jasmine
  • essential oil of ylang ylang
  • apple seeds
  • 1 lavender flower
  • pinch of cinnamon

Attracting Money:

  • essential oil of patchouli
  • essential oil of juniper berry
  • dried mint leaves
  • dried thyme
  • pinch of allspice
Bath Potions

I just wanted to make a simpler post on how to make shower gel spells. They look really pretty and are fun to make and practical cause you can use them any time. Here is a few pictures of mine. (another)

I make these spells to either:

  • Evoke a feeling, put me in a mental state (state of calm, state of clarity, state of alertness to wake up)
  • Attract Something (friends, money, good energy)
  • Banish Something (sheilding, etc)

There’s a lot of other intentions you could do but those tend to be my top 3.

They also look like cute colorful potions and make the bathroom feel more magical.. Aside from the brass cauldron full of drying bath mixes and glitter and powder and strange shit everywhere.

You will need

  1. A bottle of your choice! Glass is the best because it doesn’t leak into the formula and you can reuse it. Squeezy plastic bottles are ok too but glass is preferred. You can get the cool potion-looking bottles at Michaels, AC Moore, Goodwill, wherever. They usually cost $1 each. (Usually $1.50 if they are large).
If you do buy a glass bottle they have a lot of different shapes and sizes. I use square shapes for protection or stability, round for different mental states or energy, hearts for self love, compassion or attracting love or social interactions, I mean there are many shapes so keep in mind what type of bottle you would like for what spell. If you don’t want to get that complicated then just get the most plain glass bottle possible lol.

  2.  Scentless gel soap. You can get pure liquid castille soap at a few stores, many people love this. I just get a $4 whole foods scentless shower gel brand that works nicely. They used to have this amazing shower gel that was so soft and wonderful at whole foods and I can no longer find it, but it’s called Shikai and it makes your skin feel like angels rubbed themselves on it. I have no idea why I can’t find it anymore.

  3.  (Optional) Oils for the skin. Some oils has its own magical properties but adding argan oil, coconut oil, aloe (not oil, but good for the skin) or olive oil in small teaspoons can help to moisturize the skin or give it a nice glow. Coconut oil is fun cause it separates and leaves a cool milky layer on top and when you shake it the solution is thick and creamy.

  4. Essential oils, fragrance oils, your favorite perfume, flower water, for fragrance. Anything that will help to evoke the feeling or magic you would want. This is a very basic instruction post so its very open ended. Just ingredients for the fragrance.

  5. Ingredients to help further evoke this magic:  dried herbs, petals, rain water, snow water, crushed ice, decorative glass pearls, seashells, citrus peels, seeds, your breath, eyelashes, black sand, colorful sand, charcoal (great for protection and extracting crap from the skin), home made flower or herb extracts and oils, (great seasonal activity to make fragrance oils from collected flowers and herbs outside), etc. You understand the point. Things that you collect in your craft that’s safe to go on skin and has magical properties. For things like crystals that don’t do well in these types of solutions, use them to charge your solution afterwards by placing them around or on top of the cork.

  6. Optional: Things to give it some presentation such as food coloring, mica powder, glitter (some I have stars or heart shaped glitter in it, its cute and the glitter is too heavy so it rinses off of me).

  7. Your Intent (of course!) When you have all your ingredients gathered in your bottle, they will naturally be separated since oils and shower gel have different weights and textures. When you shake it together fusing them for the first time, make sure your intent is strong, Maybe meditate or take time to focus your energy before doing this!

You can use these things when you need them daily in the shower (High five to those super busy or low energy witches who don’t have the time or energy to do magic everyday!) Usually this can last up to two weeks or if you have multiple, it can last for months so you can feel magical daily by just taking a quick shower with this, plus its way easier than making a bath and using bath salt mixtures (-also to add, I understand sometimes people with low energy have trouble even getting into a shower but when I was in a rush sometimes I would just wash my hands with a solution and feel great).
If you have more time you can pour the whole bottle into a bubble bath! So it works as something for the shower and for a bath! Adding baking soda makes a SUPER foamy fizzing bath. So if you ever need a magical bubble bath you got a cute potion bottle sitting ready to go. They are easy and once you get the hang of making them it becomes really fun too!

  • I have made rejuvenation/calming potions with mint leaves and rain water (colored it a soft green, added light green pearl dust powder)
  • potions to evoke a clear mind with eucalyptus, rain water and sandalwood
  • potions for confidence with honeysuckle, gold glitter, and amber (colored it a deep blue for the throat energy to communicate well).
  • potions for social attractiveness and attracting good vibes with cherry blossom home made oil and pink heart glitter and sugar fragrance

And then its fun to give them names and write down the recipes in your grimoire (which I have been neglecting to do), usually when I don’t have a name I just call them by what they do like Rejuvination I, Confidence, Clarity, and when I do have a name usually based on how they look and smell I named one Sunburst and the cherry Blossom one Sugar Blossom cause it smells like spring flowers and baked sweets.

I’ve gotten some compliments from this too. Like I have used shower gels to attract friendships or social interactions and people would notice there is an alluring smell and ask about it then I would be like: OH DID YOU MEAN ME?!?! Cause you know, I love it when I smell good ;)  (Also I am a Libra attention seeking ho in social situations)

Anyway I hope this helps. Shoot me questions if you need them to be answered!

A little beauty-bath spell I made the other day!! Super quick and simple.

Ingredients:
½ cup of Epsom salts
½ cup of sea salt
1tbsp of cinnamon
4 drops of pure vanilla extract
A pinch of dried rosemary
A handful of shredded rose petals

As you mix the ingredients, picture yourself becoming a goddess. Repeat to yourself that you are beautiful and strong.

Soak in this bath for as long as you please and you’ll be feeling like a goddess in no time!!

Love Drawing Bath Soak

This bath salt recipe is intended to draw romantic love to its user. Immerse your body in this citrusy pink salt soak and let the oils and roses do their work.

  • 1 cup coarse Himalayan Pink Salt
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • ¼ cup of lavender buds
  • ¼ cup of orange rinds
  • 1 handful of miniature roses
  • 8 drops of Sweet Orange Oil
  • 4 drops of Rose Absolute

Soak in hot water. Bathe until the heat dissipates.

Protection bath (powder)

You will need: salt, eggshels, 15 rowan berries, 1 rose thorn, rosemary, (strom water),

phase of moon: waxing or full moon

best day: Thursday

Gather your ingredients and grind them thoroughly. During grinding your ingredients to powder, visualize your goal. Bless it. Charche it - under waxing, or full moon light - if you want.

bath:

Bring to a boil storm water (or water with storm water/water with storm salt). When water boils add your blend and stir clockwise. Visualize your goal. Bless it - whisper or scream - whatever you want, feel that power inside you. Feel the clouds of steam. Add your “potion” in bath.

powder:

Sprinkle around object or build, which you want protect. Add around flower pot for enchant your flowers (flowers with thorns are best). Sprinkle yourself. Draw sigils. Add into candle, or sachet/mojo bag.

For everyone asking what glamour I used when talking in this post:

I used a combination of our Goddess Glamour Bath and a pre-made herbal bath soak that I bought at a local apothecary. And because I’m not particularly cruel, the ingredients in that bath soak are as follows: red rose petals, red rose buds, chamomile flowers, lavender, calendula petals, and essential oils of lavender and ylang ylang.

But for the record the attention I received was excessive (and fairly predatory) so use at your own risk.

Faerie Bath Recipe/Spell

Add the following to your bathwater in however small/large portions you wish:
2 parts rose petals and/or hips
2 parts lavender
2 parts hibiscus
1 part dandelion
pinch of sea salt
4 parts Moon water (i used about 1/4cup because it’s all i had left)

To take this from simple relaxing bath to a spell to call upon the Fae and/or realign your energies through them, simply light two or three candles (a white and then whatever other colors you feel relate to what you need at the moment), and a handful of the stones you are closest to or you feel can help (I used rose quartz, howlite, petalite, botswana agate, fluorite, and amethyst just to name a few).

Extra: I added a bit of lavender epsom salt and a Rose Queen bath bomb I had laying around to my bath tonight because I felt like pampering myself; feel free to add your favorites as well to make this bath work for you even better!

Baths

Baths are often used in herb magic, for they are an easy way to spread an herb’s power over the entire body.

There are two methods; one, make a sachet (use about one-half to one cup of the appropriate enchanted herb) of cheesecloth. Drop this into the warm bath water.

A better method entails the preparation of an infusion […]. Add the strained liquid to the tub.

Essential oils are also sometimes added to baths. Just a few drops are all that is necessary for most oils; too much may irritate the skin. […]

DIY bath bombs for a broke ass bitch

hey folks! if u are broke or just looking for a cheaper alternative/something to do I have just the right thing!
diy bath bombs!
everything can usually be found in a kitchen
you will need

Measuring spoons and cups
1 cup baking soda
½ cup cornstarch
½ cup epsom salts
4 tablespoons cream of tartar
2-½ tablespoons oil (I recommend coconut but I’ve also tried this with a bunch of other oils from olive to avocado and it turned out just fine)
2 teaspoons essential oil (lavender is my favorite and make sure you look up what each of the scents mean and you can make it have a theme! (witchy ppl this is where you can make a spell))
Food coloring
¾ tablespoon water
Plastic mold (I used a metal mini cupcake tray but I’ve heard that rubber molds are the best)
dried flowers/whatever you want can add a lil pizazz to the bombs

pack in hard into the molds and leave it 1+ day(s) to harden in a dry spot

if you don’t even have essential oils use extract (vanilla, almond) I don’t really recommend this but it works in a pinch
just make sure you don’t put too much liquid in it. it should feel like moon sand

Bath Rituals

Before casting any spells it is important to be in the right state of body and mind. Before working any magick at home i take a ritual bath to cleanse myself and prepare myself for the spell in mind. Ritual baths are magic in themselves, i prefer to look at them as a preparation. Working with sea magic makes ritual baths even more significant as you are submerging in the essence of water itself. I have listed below some ritual baths for purification and protection that you can feel free to use or modify on your own.

Basic Purification Bath:

Ingredients - Sea Salt, 1 White Candle

Fill your tub with warm water, as much as you see fit. Add to the water a handful of sea salt and stir the water and salt with your right hand (or left if your left handed) 3 times. The salt is good for your skin but this is also to purify and consecrate the water. Light the white candle and get in the tub (put it somewhere you can see it) Make sure you rub the water all over you, and as you drain the tub visualize all the impurities going down the drain. You can bring the white candle into your circle or let it burn down. I usually use small chime candles or tea lights for bath rituals. And i have a very large white candle i light every time i take a bath to represent a higher power but that’s just me.

Banish Strong Negative Energy (hex breaking) Purification Bath:

Ingredients - Sea Salt, Sulfur Powder (Potassium sulfate)                   Dried Rosemary, 1 Black Candle

Start up your incense coal and burn some dried rosemary in the bathroom. Fill the tub up with hot water and add a handful of sea salt and about 3 tablespoons of the sulfur to the running water, turn the water 3 times with your right hand. Light your black candle and get in the tub, be careful as the water will be hot. The water will also smell kind funky because of the sulfur but this is actually also good for your skin. Rub the water over yourself and imagine that you are washing away any negative energy and covering yourself in a protected shield of water and fire (as sulfur represents fire). let the water drain and visualize all the harsh energy going down the drain. Rinse off (skip the soap you can take a shower later) and make sure there is no residue in the tub as you want all the negative energy gone. You can bring the black candle into your spell lit, but this one you really want to let burn down.

Basic Purification and Protection Bath:

Ingredients - Sea Salt, Valerian, Basil, 1 White Candle

Fill the tub with warm water and add a handful of sea salt. Steep 1 teaspoon of basil and 1 teaspoon of Valerian in a cup of boiling water and add to the bath, stir 3 times with your right hand. Light your white candle and relax in the bath. Wash away your anxieties and stresses envision a white light all around you as a shield of protection from negative energies, wash all the water down the drain and bid your worries goodbye. Let the candle burn down.

Milk of Isis Protection Bath:

Ingredients - Sea Salt, 1 White 7 Day Candle, 1 Quart of Milk (i prefer real liquid cows milk but you can also use goats milk or powdered milk, about half a cup would work), Blue Lotus Extract

Fill the tub with warm water and add a handful of sea salt, when the water is almost to as full as you want it pour in the quart of milk and add 6 drops of the blue lotus extract (you can find this online) and stir 3 times with your right hand. Light the white Candle and say a prayer to the Goddess Isis asking her for her protection as she protected the child Horus in the lilies by the river and nursed him with her milk. (i don’t share prayers as i believe they should be personal from you to the universe or deity that you speak to, so get creative) As you soak in the milk bath visualize the wings of Isis wrapping around you and shielding you from any negativity, pain or suffering (you can also ask for healing in this bath). She will give you the protection of a mother. Let drain the water and clean the tub. Leave the candle burning (IN A SAFE SPOT) for 7 days and every morning and night thank Isis for her protection until the candle burns out.

I will post some more ritual baths at a later time including baths for invoking water spirits, healing baths, love spell baths (tho i don’t really like love spells) “meditative” baths and more.

Blessed be! <3

Breakfast Bath

If you’re like me and take baths in the morning, here’s a really good recipe for a moisturizing, relaxing bath to get yr day going~

-scoop of dry plain oats (about a half cup)

-cinnamon (as much as you want)

-a few coffee beans/grounds, or a bag your favorite tea, or orange peel

-you can also add in a few drops of food color

Tie it all up in a cloth bag (i just put it all in a big washcloth and tie with a hairtie or rubberband) and toss it in the warm water. If you add food color put it directly into the water, not in the bag. You can squeeze the bag gently or even rub it over yr arms/legs/chest/face. When you’re done just empty the bag into the trash or compost and throw it in the wash!

The oatmeal is moisturizing and the smell is really calming and soothing to me. The cinnamon is a good grounding scent, and the coffee beans (or whatever you add as the third ingredient) help to wake you up and get you ready to do what you need to do that day. The food color helps boost yr mood (i prefer to use bright blue) and in my experience never stains skin or the tub.

I work from home so in the mornings I like to eat my breakfast, then take a bath like this while drinking my coffee to help relax, clear my head for the day, and gather inspiration and motivation to work.

Feel free to make any changes you prefer if you decide to try this!

Bath Rituals Part 2

As promised here are 3 more bath ritual recipes for before casting magick:

Basic Healing Bath Ritual:

Before doing any healing magick for myself or others I like to take this bath to get my mind in the right place and prepare my own body and spirit for the magick at hand. I like this one especially its like bathing in a big vat of tea lol

Ingredients - Sea Salt, Lemon, Dried Carnation, Chamomile, Bath Sachet (any sachet you can run water through), 1 White Candle

Run a warm bath and add a hand full of sea salt to consecrate the bath, and squeeze the whole lemon into the water. Fill the sachet with equal parts carnation and chamomile, as much as you see fit for the size of your tub, I use about 3 teaspoons of each. Run the water through the sachet, if it has a draw string sometimes you can hang it right from the spigot. When the tub is full stir it three times with your right hand (or left if you’re left handing) and light the white candle. Soak in the tub holding the sachet in your hand squeeze it so that you can smell the aromas and release more of the herbal essence into the tub. Relax and focus on bringing healing light into your heart and contemplate the healing ritual you are about to do, take as much time as you need. Drain the tub and shower off with natural soap and you’re done. Let the candle burn down.

Basic Love Spell Bath:

I don’t really care for love spells tho I have 2 bath rituals, the 2nd does not need a spell to follow up. This first one is just a good bath to take for yourself and if I work any love magic this is the bath I take before it, its more about divine universal love.

Ingredients - Rose Bath Oil (make this with 1 ounce of Jojoba oil, about 6 drops of Rose oil, and small rose bud petals in a small bottle and let sit for a few days) 1 Small rose quartz, Sea Salt, 1 white Candle

Draw a warm bath and add a hand full of sea salt and 2 tablespoons of the Rose Bath Oil and stir the tub with your right hand 3 times with rose quartz in hand. Light the white candle and soak in the tub holding the rose quartz in your hand. Relax and close your eyes (don’t fall asleep, do not go into trance) now roll the rose quarts around in your hand and place it over your heart chakra. Imagine the netting of the universe, all the love of the universe in a great big pink electric spider web and let the webbing connect to your heart chakra through the stone and imagine yourself filling up with beautiful pure divine love and know that you are loved for you are a part of this great cosmic web. Now imagine from your heart chakra green webbing floating back to connect to the web of universal love, and give the love you have received back to the universe allow this love to flow in and out of you several times. Now let the water drain shower off with natural soap, put the rose quartz with the candle and let it burn down. i like to take some of the Rose bath oil on my finger and draw a small cross on my third eye and heart chakra too before going to into my circle.

Forgiveness Bath:

This is a good bath for when there is a lot of outside negativity coming into your relationship and causing stress, I put this together when my bf and I where having some issues and it gave me the strength and patience to be the support for our relationship, we got through it and life is peachy now :)

Ingredients - Sea Salt, Lavender, Fresh Rose Petals (pink or red, i find pink to be more appropriate for this bath), Chamomile, 1 can of Coconut Milk, 1 white candle and 1 pink candle, 1 paper bag

Draw a warm bath and add a hand full of sea salt. Steep 3 teaspoons of lavender and 3 teaspoons of chamomile in a cup of boiling water, drain the herbs and add the tea to the bath. Add the can of coconut milk, the coconut milk will be gelatinous, break it up with your hand, the coconut milk should thin out and fog up the water. Now throw a small handful of lavender right in the water along with the rose petals and stir the water 3 times with your right hand. Light the candles and soak in the bath. Now in the tub wash yourself with the water and say this chant “I forgive myself and the one I love, I am strong patient and full of love” say this 3 times pause for a few minutes, say it 3 more times pause again 3 times, until you have said it 9 times. Now relax in the bath and think about how much you care about your partner and remember all the good moments, and focus on patience and love, take as long as you need. Let the water drain while you’re in the tub and as the water drains imagine all the stresses and negative energies washing away. Gather whats left of the rose petals and lavender in a paper bag and spray the tub down to get rid of any residue. Now sit and meditate in front of the candles until they burn down. Bury the paper bag as far away from your house as you can.

Feel free to change them to better fit your practice <3

blessed be!

*never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking medical treatment*

As far as love work

stop thinking your gonna light one candle and attract your soulmate/twin flame etc.

1. Manifesting love works better and faster when done in cycles.

ex A.
So you do love work on Friday at 8pm-9pm (CST:America)/working with the planetary energy of Venus. you should do it again next Friday at the same time and the following Friday also at the same time. you have now set a frequency .

ex B.
you do love work at the start of the New moon and stop at the Full moon. you are working with moon energy. You do this everyday at any time you choose between the New moon and the Full moon. You’ve set a frequency.

2. Start doing side rituals in combination with the main work.

A.Manifestation list/burn it after
This should include personality, beliefs, physicality, what you would like to do together, how you guys communicate and relate to one another etc.

B. Spiritual Bathes
Use the traditional Hoodoo Yellow “Attraction” bath recipe or create your own. Take this every Friday for the next three Fridays in a row.

C. Scent
Choose a spray or oil you really like, add three rose buds, three rose petals, with the 7th ingredient being the spray/oil itself. And wear it whenever you go out.

D. Use left over water from spiritual bath as floor wash.

E. Speak
Talk about the person you would like to attract everyday for a week, what you guys do together, how they treat you, the course of the relationship: short term/long term, etc

F. Consult Ancestors
Give more offerings and ask that they aid you in attracting a mate.

G. Leave the house
Please don’t think that the love of your life is gonna come right to your door.

H. After you do all that, be patient.
