bass to the rescue

Here go a lil Cookout Playlist for tomorrow if you need one.

I’m on music duty tomorrow so I just threw together a lil Spotify playlist and decided to share in case y'all need one for the cookout.  It’s mostly a mixture of Black Auntie Music with a swirl of Grandma’s Oldies, some more recent Sunday Afternoon R&B Jams, a smattering of New Jack Swing, and a dash of Classic Hip-Hop.

Suggest whatever you think might fit so I can add some more stuff I like.  Happy 4th!

Could I get a L&O: SVU ship, please? 5'9" full-figured girl. Natural redhead, blue eyes. Pale skin, freckles. Stubborn yet charming. Empathetic & smart. Closeted Wiccan. Applying to a Criminal Justice undergrad program + Spanish language study. Working toward a Forensic Science degree. Passion for music & poetry. 7+ years of classical choral experience singing alto/bass. B&W movie lover. My rescue dog is the light of my life. Can't cook. Would be a terrible housewife; hesitant about having kids

yay. Hi. I ship you with Barba because I feel like since you’re passionate about your studies and hobbies, you and Barba would get along well even if you didn’t have much in common (I could totally see Barba watching black and white movies tho)

The snow was falling at a steady rate outside. The pizza box sat beside you while you typed away on your computer. The term paper that was due in 2 days was on your mind. As always. Your favorite artist played in your earphones. You didn’t even hear the door open.

“I’ve been knocking!” Your boyfriend stood over you, an angry scowl on his face. You took the earphones out of your ears and smiled sheepishly.

“Sorry. I’ve been working.” You grabbed another slice of pizza, holding a slice out to Rafael. “Pizza?” He accepted the offer, sitting next to you.

“I brought Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf and Grapes Of Wrath. Pick one.” He smiled, pulling two movies from out of his coat. You put your laptop on the stand beside you, giving Rafael and the movies your undivided attention.

“Both?” You questioned, a smile on your face. Rafael kissed your cheek and agreed quickly. After he put in the movie, he plopped down beside you only to be pushed out of the way by your dog. You laughed and settled down to a nice evening.
