Most people think being bi means that you like girls and boys both equally, both romantically and sexually. But that’s not the case for everyone.

There are bi people who lean way more to one side than the other. There are bi people who experience sexual attraction to some genders and romantic attraction to others. There are bi people whose sexuality fluctuates. There are bi people who become fixated on one gender depending on their love interest. There are demisexual bisexuals, there are ace and aro bisexuals.

Not all bi people experience the same kind of attraction to each gender equally. We’re still valid and we’re still bi.

GUYS, atomic blonde (2017) as a movie concept is something that i’ve wanted pretty much forever??? it’s like someone pulled my dream story right out of my brain and decided to make a screenplay out of it, I mean

  • a gritty-yet-stylish action thriller about a femme fatale-esque female secret agent
  • said female agent is the hero of her own story. this isn’t a romance. it’s her movie.
  • and she’s played by charlize theron?????!!!!!!!!
  • a mainstream movie with a lead character who is explicitly bisexual!!! who has on-screen romantic interactions with both men and women!!!!
  • james mcavoy as charlize theron’s comic relief/eye candy sidekick
lgbt podcasts that deserve more attention in my gay opinion

death at a low price- my very very fave as probably most of my followers are aware of at this point. scifi/comedy about a group of dangerous queer ppl and aliens who run an interdimensional convenience store. search herbarium podcasts to find it

spines podcast- horror/mystery about a woman who has scary dangerous powers and only remembers a fucked up ritual and information about her “friends” and who tries to figure out what she is and what happened to her and whats going on with certain sketchy orginizations

inkwyrm- scifi/romcom that is basically gays in space fashion magazine version. also includes a lot of cliche gay relationship drama that i live for

freed- soft apocolypse is the best way i can describe it. its a really sweet podcast about a badass lady who makes broadcasts about her progress fixing a mountain town. later on she makes friends that help her out and theres conspiracys and a lot gets revealed about the world. also my fave

junction series-  drama/romance about 4 high school girls who try and start a podcast to find a girl who went missing but get really off track because they are all really gay for each other and have a lot of relationship drama

adventures of mechabetty- scifi/mecha/action about a scientist who turns herself into a mech w the help of her team in order to fight off an alien invasion. really lighthearted and fun

to whom it may concern- fantasy/supernatural about a mentally ill woman who gets haunted by a dangerous ghost and the group of ghosts that are trying to help protect her. Look on the official blog @to-whom-it-may-concern-podcast for this one

oakpodcast- scifi/interactive podcast about an autistic jewish spy who gets stranded and becomes homeless and is forced to uncover the truth behind the bioweapon that she was exposed to

the girl who set out to seek a living wage- fairy tale about autistic fantasy lesbians destroying capitalism and living happily ever after

the blood crow stories- horror podcast about a college student who goes through old psych records of the passengers ofa ship that sank in the 1940s (i think??) and then realizes there is a monster feeding off everyones pain and fear. heads up that this will emotionally destroy you

i like girls
who resemble the sun;
burning, brilliant,
blinding, if you look for too long.
the kind of light that lingers on your eyelids.

i like girls
who remind me of moonlight;
who have a way of lighting the dark spaces
in my mind on cold nights,
when dawn seems like a distant dream.

i like girls
who personify the ocean;
wild laughter and wide eyes, salt slick skin,
arms raised as they sway as one with the waves,
tide drunk and dizzy with the scent of the sea.

i like girls
who embody the earth;
who ground with a touch. who fight off lightning
and kiss like how rain tastes on your tongue
when you open your mouth to the sky.

Griffin McElroy in ep 68: brings back old lovable characters, references loose plot threads and ties them up, kills it with the npc one-liners (“no dogs on the moon” OMG), not only confirms every gay taz couple but ensures blessed cinematic moments between them, turns the bury your gays trope on its head by BRINGING BACK a dead gay ship, basically is not fucking around in the slightest

Ok so I have had this AU idea of like…. grumpy hermit gay mess Hanzo who basically looks like his hair is the pelt fur from his lone wolf skin because he could not care any less of how he looks, and he is that one neighbor who’s an asshole and never says hi or anything and lets his hellhound of a pomeranian go to other people’s yards and destroy them or shit on them.

He probably works from home and avoids all human contact that’s not necessary, except Genji because he is his lil bro! he only goes out when grocery shopping or to pay bills or hit the gym (look at those guns and pecs )

This Hanzo also sports the piercings he has in the winter comic and more less dresses up with the same style of clothes?? when he goes out that is, most of the time he just wears tshirts and sweatpants.

This becomes a McHanzo AU when Jesse moves in next door and finds Hanzo’s dog digging a hole on his lawn and decides to take it back to its owner and when Hanzo sees him he just “???????????? wow im gay af ??????????”

Basically this AU is Hanzo being the one smitten by McCree and trying to get close to him but being too socially awkward to do it properly and having like bad timings and freaking out and going back inside his house whenever he feels he has fucked up to which Jesse is oblivious and just thinks Hanzo is an interesting guy.

Hanzo tries to make it clear how gay he is without saying it by always using his Im gay mug that Genji gave to him as a joke…..just…boy….pls….Genji teases him to no end and as a way to encourage him, Genji says he will go after Jesse if Hanzo doesnt do anything about it which Hanzo is very aware could happen in the blink of an eye knowing how efficient his lil bro is when it comes to flirting with people, the guy has some unreal skills for dating.

but yeah thats all I got….. basically this is me wanting more McHanzo from Hanzo´s point of view, and having him less…uhh…far away and mysterious about his feelings? I want him being an awkward mess.

okay thats all Im sorry.

Fun story about my thoughts on Katie McGrath:
When I saw Jurassic World in theaters, I had to take my phone out and text my friend about how /unbelievably/ hot the actress who was playing the assistant was bc I was so blown away. Fast forward to when s2 of Supergirl came out, I started texting the same friend about how hot Lena Luther was. It took me about a month or so to realize it was the same person and BOY HOWDY WAS I A MESS WHEN I REALIZED IT. Moral of the story, I am so unbelievably attracted to Katie McGrath that I accidentally had a crush on her twice.

I think there’s a perception that the male gaze is necessarily sexual and that’s imo out of line w its original theoretical basis and with reality. I think the presence of gay men as cultural and aesthetic curators who decide what is artistically beautiful and worthy of praise in womanhood is an expression of misogyny that comes from basically the same place as ‘she should have big tits because that makes me hard’; the same entitlement/ almost ‘authorship’ of women’s bodies is imo reflected in the accounts women share of sexual assault by gay men, basically being treated as a mannequin or toy, a dress up doll

I think gay men exempting ourselves from the male gaze reflects misunderstanding of what the male gaze is; to my understanding, a pervading cultural norm which says that women literally are as men see them, and which asserts that women 1) do not have independent perspective & 2) should be subject to the constant observation and judgement of men

I think gay men get so defensive about this bc we have gotten really used to thinking of ourselves as exempt from anything but vestigial misogyny bc we’re not on the heterosexual chessboard or because we’re ~soft men and the fact that this has reached the point of us downplaying our own capacity for sexual assault, or else throwing ~fetishising slash fic~ (as though they are remotely equivalent issues) in the face of women who overwhelmingly approach us not as enemies but as ppl whose expressed first instinct would be to want to see us as brothers, is completely inexcusable

idk. the idea of dan and phil “coming out” is weird. i dont they’ll ever “come out.” they’ll just start holding hands for a few seconds in gaming videos. they’ll eventually steal quick kisses when holding hands isnt such a big deal. they’ll go in public dressed up going on a date. they’ll call it a date on twitter. they’ll go to pride together. they’ll never move out. they’ll get a forever home. and a dog.

If you are discussing homophobia in countries in Africa you have to discuss how colonialism affected the attitude. And if you can’t because you don’t have the information, research it before you speak.

Fact: Bisexual people in different gender relationships are basically straight, and bisexual people in same gender relationships are basically gay. Baking powder is basically flour so you can more or less use them as substitutes for each other. Tigers are basically large house cats and make suitable pets. Money is basically paper so you can get away with paying for goods and services using the A4 sheets you’d find in a printer. Pillows are basically just feathers so as a substitute if no pillow is available just rest your head on a live duck.

  • Bi character is only stated to be bi by the creators outside of the canon source: "That doesn't count at all, they should have at least mentioned it in the source material!"
  • Bi character is said to be bi within the source material: "That doesn't count, because it was only mentioned!"
  • Bi character's sexuality is an important part of their character: "Here we go again with the thinking mlm and wlw's lives revolve around their sexualities, ugh!"
  • Bi character has a love interest of the opposite gender: "So they're basically straight, the creators just want Woke Points™."
  • Bi character has a love interest of the same gender: "So they're basically gay, like nice try but bi people are still underrepresented and this isn't representation."
  • Bi character has more than one love interest: "Classic stereotyping bi people as promiscuous, god!"
  • Bi character literally exists in media at all: "This is somehow bad and problematic!!"
