Mermaids

Take a moment and think about mermaids. Think about mermaid who live in the waters of Hawaii, with eyelashes made of sea-foam and tails the color of the sun. Think about mermaids sitting on the bottom of the ocean, watching the surfers above them in fascination and pointing out the patterns and designs on the bottom of their boards like children pointing out stars.

Think about mermaids in the Mediterranean being able to ‘speak human’ but they can only speak the dead languages. Think about Mediterranean mermaids still following old trade routes that ships from thousands of years followed to get from one place to the next.

Think about mermaids from the deep sea, odd colors illuminating off of their skin and tails. Think about them with skin nearly transparent and eerie smiles of teeth like needles and claws. Think about deep sea mermaids with bioluminescent tails three times the length of man.

Think about mermaids the size of whales, their upper body seeming like that of giant. Think about these mermaids swimming in large pods and helping out the smaller mermaids, fascinated by their loose, feathery tails in contrast to their relatively short stiff ones. Think about these mermaids trying to copy the smaller mermaid’s swimming patterns with quick flicks of their tails and instead sending a large splash at a nearby boat.

Think about mermaids in the tropics, with fancy fins that seem to ripple and blow in the current, creating illusions of movement to people above. Think about mermaids with fins that look like feathers who like to jump out of the water as if they’re flying before diving back into the sea in giggles. Think about topical mermaids with tails that reflect the colors of the sky and color the ocean with colors that people never thought the ocean could turn.

Think about mermaids in rivers who slither across the floor of the water like snakes and pinch at peoples toes like crayfish. Think about these mermaids living by huge waterfalls, the ones with dams built over them having long since been abandoned in favor for some other point of the river, even if it isn’t a traditional waterfall home. Think about river mermaids meeting with river spirits and nymphs and discussing daily events while listening to motorboats jet past above them.

Think about mermaids who live in creeks made from inland glacial melt in places like Glacier. Think about them sitting contentedly under a long thin waterfall, watching as cars march across the windy road far far above. Think about them writing messages on the cliff walls with the rocks from the bottom of their creeks. Think about them with short but pliable tails that they use to flit over rapids and jump playfully over bridges surpassing their domain.

Think about mermaids who live in streams of glacial melt in places like Greenland. Think about them being able to watch the stars above them in fascination through the clear blue water. Think about them dodging through the inside of large icy glaciers, sleeping on thick sheets of ice that seem to just barely be holding onto the glacier but which their family has slept on for years. Think about them with tails so blue that they seem to glow even when they’re twenty feet underwater, a melody of pastels.

Think about mermaids in the far north, with eyelashes frosted over and lips as blue as the water around them. Think about mermaids in the far north with tails of dark blues, purples and silvers. Imagine them breaking through the ice whenever their waters freeze over and rolling around the top of it in jest, laughing as they skid and slide across the ice. Think about mermaids in the far north who speak in tongues to trolls who live in caves in cliff-faces.

Think about mermaids in the north so old they remember vikings and teach the young Old Norse, believing it to still be the language of the people in the region. Think of mermaids in the Mediterranean that remember the epics that they heard rhapsodes sing of back in the fifth century.

Think about jellyfish mermaids with trailing tentacles instead of tails. Think about them with large umbrella-shaped bells wrapped around their waists like skirts. Think about these mermaids using their tentacles to jokingly sting each other, but never going towards a fish-mermaid in fear of stinging them. Think about jellyfish mermaids with bioluminescent bells and skin with patterns and designs unique to each one of them.

Think about mermaids who live in lava. Because, you know, why not? Think about them with tails of liquid precious metals. Mermaids with tails of liquid gold, nickel, diamonds, and obsidian; their tails not having a definite form and bits and pieces of them flying out into the lava. Think about their tails solidifying as soon as they make contact with water, pulling them down to the bottom of the ocean where they’re forced to live until they die. Think about them daring each other to flip their tails out into the air, seeing who can stay out of the lava the longest and not have their tails solidify.

Think about space mermaids. Think about mermaids who live in the seas of Titan, living in a sea of methane and ethane while watching the thick orange clouds circle above their heads. Think about mermaids on Enceladus, living deep in the interior next to the warm water. Think about adventurous mermaids swimming up into the cooler waters to try to see the ice fountains on the planet’s icy surface, most of them being sucked out and launched into space.

Think about mermaids on Europa. Think about them living in the ocean between the icy surface and the rocky interior. Think about the mermaids grabbing rocks from the interior and scratching long lines across the surface so as to play games and replicate the linear fractures on the surface. Think about these mermaids who live in the deep black darkness of the ocean, but swim up to the thinner parts of the ice sheet of the planet to watch the stars and galaxies light up around them when they aren’t facing Jupiter. Think about these mermaids having different constellations that they point out to others, different myths based off of them and how they arrived in the sky.

Just think about mermaids.

I’m really falling deep into @thememime’s au and I can’t get out haha plus I cant wait for the final episode of Samurai Jack AAaaa–

Based off from my previous post here

I imagine an episode where paladin Aku and canon Jack comes to a point where they have to cross-dress for some reason(maybe to infiltrate a building or club)

or perhaps it is just my excuse to draw dem boys in pretty dresses

Clothes are from Ikra and Ashi and the lil trinkets on aku’s head is from @dazzmazing-art ’s awesome protector aku :v

Also, here’s my half-assed contribution to thememime’s post here lol:

Sheith Pokemon AU

this came out of nowhere. this should hopefully feel like a mini Pokemon episode :D also thanks to @keiiro and @keith-shiro as usual for the idea bouncing sessions ❤️

  • Shiro is the Flying-type gym leader
  • Up until Shiro’s gym, Keith has beaten every gym on the first try, so when Shiro beats him, he’s shocked and pissed
  • Shiro tells him what Keith clearly lacks is a more meditative focus, tells him, “Patience yield focus.”
  • Determined to beat Shiro on the next round, Keith leaves, intending to train some more
  • When he comes back to the gym, however, he finds that Team Galra has taken over. The place is in disarray, Pokemon are missing, people are missing
  • Shiro is nowhere to be found
  • When Keith figures out it’s Team Galra behind it all, he finds them in the town and challenges them to a series of Pokemon battles (All of them, of course, have predominantly Dark-type and/or Poison-type Pokemon)
  • After several super potions and Pokemon Center trips, he makes it to the match with Zarkon, who’s got Shiro and all of his Pokemon captured
  • It takes a lot of effort and sweat, but Keith is nothing if not determined. His passion and tenacity shows in this final battle against Zarkon. Just when he is about to lose, Shiro’s words Patience yields focus comes to him as he further pushes his bond with Charizard
  • Finally, he defeats Team Galra, and they retreat, promising to return someday when they least expect it
  • Shiro thanks him and tells him he’s impressed with Keith’s strong perseverance and bond with his Pokemon; he takes Keith up on the challenge of one final gym battle
  • Their fight is tense and charged. Many of Shiro’s gym trainers have hardly ever seen such an exciting match. They’ end up on their two final Pokemon and both are going hard at it.
  • It’s a close call, but Keith comes out of it victorious
  • When Shiro presents to him the gym badge, he offers Keith a place at his gym so he can take Keith beneath his proverbial wing because he simply admires Keith’s talent so much
  • With a smile, Keith says he still needs to finish his own Pokemon journey but he promises 100% that he will come back
  • When he does, they end up leading a fire/flying gym together as co-leaders and become one of the toughest gyms to defeat

Bonus:

  • Keith has a black mega Charizard 👌🏼
  • Keith: Talonflame, Houndoom, Blaziken, Rapidash, Mega Charizard X, Kartana
  • Shiro: Aerodactyl, Salamence, Honchkrow, Skarmory, Sigilyph, Celesteela
  • They go on Pokemon adventures together in the future where Shiro claims Lugia and Keith gets Ho-oh

Next up: talk to me about Elite Four AU’s man. I’m all ears.

Fandom event etiquette

Suggestions for both organizers and participants for a smooth and fun experience

Events are some of the most fun things in fandom. They bring people together for a common project, foster a great sense of community, and produce lots of amazing content for the fandom. As long as they’re run responsibly. As people who are quite active in the fandom events scene for the Voltron fandom a few things have been brought to our attention recently and we’d like to address them. Sheer event volume, poor management, and disorganized events are starting to turn people off from signing up/participating, and it’s really upsetting to see these things that are supposed to be fun turning into sources of stress and anxiety instead

Please know that this isn’t about pointing fingers at any single event or individual, rather this is advice we’d like to share based on our experience as both event organizers and participants. We welcome comments and further discussion, but if you’d like to add to this post please don’t namedrop any people or events. Don’t turn this post into a call-out, that’s not what it’s about. Finally, this post is written specifically about the Voltron fandom, but I’m sure it could apply to pretty much any fandom, so anyone who finds it useful feel free to reblog!

- @ace-pidge and @bosstoaster

Organizers

  • Check the state of the fandom before starting a new event. This is absolutely crucial. For the Voltron fandom, I maintain an entire set of calendars with the schedules of all ongoing and upcoming events, please take advantage of it. Your idea is probably super cool! But if there are already a couple dozen other projects going on it may be wise to hold off on it. If you’re worried about someone else coming along and stealing your idea, you can make a blog/post to signal your intent to run your event in the future, and wait a while for things to calm down a bit before actually running it. I’ve been getting many messages from people saying they feel burnt out or overwhelmed with the sheer number of events, and that’s not a situation anyone wants. [Edit (14/09): After hearing the thoughts of a Zine mod on this topic I now find this next statement unfair and in poor taste, as it lowkey implies (falsely) that Zine mods don’t know what they’re doing. I’ll leave my original comments in for posterity, but let it be known that really at this point my issue with Zines is more instances of lackluster management rather than Zine volume in itself. This is especially worrying for Zines, because actual money is involved. The market has been flooded with Zines over the summer, which results in fewer people buying them overall. Fandom people aren’t made of money, and it’s important to consider this when planning a Zine]
  • Make sure you’re able to commit entirely to the project, both time-wise and mentally/physically. Fandom events are BIG JOBS, especially the ones that span several months like Big Bangs and Zines. But even smaller events like Weeks or Exchanges require a certain amount of work put into them. That’s months of advertising, of making posts, of answering questions, of sorting people out and keeping tabs on them, of troubleshooting. Look at your school/work situation not just in the near future but also several months down the line: will you have the time to dedicate to this. Look at why you’re doing this event: are you just doing it because you want in on the fun. Look at your mental/physical health situation: will you have the capacity to see this through. If you know that given your history there’s a possibility something might happen that will prevent you from keeping on top of the project (like a depressive episode or a hospitalization) make sure to account for that (for example bring on a team of mods who will be able to carry on without you should you need to step back for a while)
    • Make sure your fellow mods are up to the task. Smaller events can be comfortably run by a single person, but bigger events like Zines and Big Bangs really should be run by at least 2 people, if not a team of 3-5*. This will ensure the workload is shared and there’s less chance of burning out before the project reaches completion. And they must all be people who are equally invested in the project. Having 1 very enthusiastic mod and 2 wishy-washy tag-along mods is a recipe for a project to fall apart
    • If your friend is asking you to co-mod an event with them and you’re not sure you can/want to commit to it, say no! Don’t feel like you have to accept just because it’s your friend asking. It’s better to be upfront and honest than to start something you won’t be able to finish
  • The above goes DOUBLE if you plan to run more than 1 event at a time. I’m not here to say you can’t run more than 1 event at the same time, but if you plan to do that you better make EXTRA sure you have the time and resources to commit to all of them
  • Get advice from someone who has run this kind of event in the past, especially if it’s your first time as an organizer. Talking to someone who has gone through this already will likely prove invaluable for running a smooth event and dealing with problems that may arise. Look through the notes on this post if you need to find someone to contact
  • Communication is key, be transparent! It is extremely important to stay in contact with your participants. This will both remind them that the event is ongoing (you’d be surprised how often people sign up for something then forget about it entirely) and show that you are responsible and on top of things. Also, don’t forget about your public page. With most events having dedicated Discord servers these days, it’s easy to forget about updating the event blog/Twitter page. Putting up a post every now and then to update the public on the event’s progress lets people know it’s not dead and keeps their interest up while your participants work behind the scenes
    • Stay on schedule, and if you can’t, let people know. Be clear and upfront about the event’s timeline and the different milestones, and if you can’t keep to the schedule say so. People will generally be very understanding. If you’re dealing with a Real Life situation, or if there are circumstances outside your control like printing/manufacturing delays on a Zine, tell your participants and your audience. This will avoid people getting disgruntled and frustrated and bitter because they feel left in the dark
    • If for whatever reason you can no longer see the project through, tell people instead of just disappearing off the face of the Earth. It’s really upsetting from a participant’s perspective to be left with no news for weeks or months on end without a clue what happened to the event. Sometimes things come up or stuff happens, it’s understandable, but if that’s the case you need to let people know. It may be very upsetting to make that post, but trust me, people will appreciate the knowing
  • Be VERY CAREFUL if you’re going to be handling money (as with Zines for example). Handling people’s money is a huge responsibility. If you’re going to be taking money you have to make sure you’re able to deliver on what you promised. The absolute worst time for a project to stall out is after preorders and before products are shipped out. If your project stalls at this stage and you don’t keep your buyers appraised of the situation you may get accused of scamming people or people may start demanding refunds, which is a mess no one wants to deal with
  • Don’t air your dirty laundry publicly. We get it, sometimes running an event is frustrating. Participants drop out, or disappear and can’t be contacted, or butt heads with you or each other. Don’t complain about it anywhere public; know that stuff you say will reflect on you as an organizer as well as on your event. Vent to friends or on private accounts if you must, but you want to appear professional and in control in public. If you appear messy, your event will also appear messy, and it may make people think twice about staying in it or participating in stuff you do in the future
    • Related: Try and keep your tone upbeat and positive and professional in your promo posts and answers to questions, even if you’re answering the same question for the umpteenth time. Giving off a frustrated or negative vibe may turn people off your event
  •  If you’re a minor who wants to run an event make sure it’s appropriate for your age. Honestly, kudos to you if you’re 15-17 and running (or helping to run) an event, it’s great that you’re so involved! But for the love of all things good don’t get involved in an event where NSFW content is likely to appear. No amount of “I’m mature enough” or “I act older” constitutes a valid excuse, and you’re putting your (adult) participants in a very dangerous situation if you do that. ESPECIALLY if they don’t know you’re underage

*This isn’t to say you can’t run a bigger event if you’re alone, because people can and have done it and quite successfully at that. But in that case you must be absolutely all in

Participants

  • When you sign up for something, take the commitment seriously. Only sign up for things you know you’ll have the time/energy to deliver on, and do your best to do it
    • Stay on task. Keep to the schedule on your own, don’t make the organizers run after you
    • If you need an extension, ask for it, and don’t wait for the last minute. Sometimes you just need those few extra days or that week to complete your piece. Very often organizers will be understanding if you approach them asking for an extension, but don’t wait till the deadline to do so. Ask for the extension the moment you realize you’ll need extra time. Also ask even if you’re not 100% sure you’ll need it. Better to get the extension but still hand your stuff in on time than to show up the day of the deadline with an incomplete work and asking for more time. In the event that the organizers can’t give you an extension, either sort yourself out to have your stuff done on time or drop out of the event
    • If you need to drop out, do it sooner rather than later. Sometimes things come up, or your muse goes on vacation, or something else happens that’ll make you unable to participate. That’s ok! It happens to everyone. But in that case, tell the organizers ASAP so they can readjust their plans around you. Don’t just disappear off the face of the Earth without letting them know what your status is
  • Pace yourself. I know it’s tempting to sign up for everything. But the more you’re in the more strain you put on yourself, and the more likely you are to cause a domino effect if something goes wrong
  • Don’t air your dirty laundry publicly. If you have an issue with another participant or the organizer(s), or the way the event is being managed, or whatever else, take it up privately first. If it can’t be resolved, maybe just quietly drop out of the event and go on your way

*stares at the Thomas’ credits* Most comics mention the name of the character's creator in the byline. Brian Hess is an artist under contract with Action Labs Entertainment, the comics license holder in the US. Nicole D’Andria, who wrote this story and adapted the scrip for the earlier photo comics that were produced by Action Lab, is the marketing director and submissions editor for the company. Considering Zag teased the fans about original comics last summer, I wouldn't call this a rush job.

Hooboy. Here comes a long post.

My issue with Thomas’ credits is that his last name, Astruc, is spelled “Atruc”. I’m know that they include the creator’s name because of, duh, of course you’re going to.

My beef with Zagtoons as a whole is that they take things down to the wire. There’s often animation errors like Chat Noir having two batons, or having to reuse character models over and over again because of budget restrictions (ie that’s why Theo is a catch all character for jobs and why Alya’s dad is suddenly the Animan zookeeper even though they had no interaction at all in that episode, particularly when Alya decided to date Nino in the exhibit. Like what?)

Side note: Speaking of budget, there’s also my issue with the products they come out with that are obviously done on a very rigid budget. Many of the toys, frankly, look bad, but to get away from my opinion, come on, Look at this $30 Miraculous Chat noir ring that is literally enamel in a generic fill ring versus the actual miraculous. Would I pay $30 for that? No, and it breaks my heart because I want to.

Onto why I think this is a rush job:
Yeah, Zagtoon announced the original content comics a year ago, but that doesn’t mean they had an artist in mind otherwise they would have said it right then.

Brian Hess’ twitter shows he started working on the comic sometime in January which means he had around a Month, if that, to complete this issue before it had to go to the editors, designers, formatters, print shop, and shipping (because this was probably printed overseas meaning it needs about a month to get from printer to Action Lab to comic retailer).

Not to mention that:
A) Brian Hess’ artwork does NOT fit the aesthetic of the show at ALL. This is not by any means a slam on his artwork, but it does mean that they probably had to turn to him after the other artists they approached declined. And if you can turn a project around in a tight deadline, you can work in comics.

B) Brian Hess’ work, when he has time to work on it, is significantly better than what we got. Once again this screams that he had a quick deadline, not that he decided to cut his abilities in half for a show he doesn’t like. C’mon. He’s a professional.

C) To get technical, the pacing of the action, the set up, and coherence of the comic is… it’s frankly really bad. So many panels don’t make sense, and poor Alya is like IMPRISONED to the right side of a panel while looking at her phone. Lines of action are bad (like one kid literally has speed lines to say “Hey, I’m moving!”) It’s messy and, once again to be frank, boring to read. The pacing of some of his other work is beautiful, once again pointing to a short timeline.

D) As a friend pointed this out for me:
For a LaCrosse based akuma, why is there this watch just liked SHOEHORNED into this theme?
Answer: Because they can use duplicate frames. A time-bending lacrosse villain doesn’t make sense outside of “Oh shit I have two weeks to do this”.

So all my beefs with Zagtoon fall back on the company itself and not any of the artists or animators.

Prisoners of Love Discussion Part 2: Horror and Cartoons

Okay, let’s talk about a tragically underused element of Danny Phantom: horror.

The tone of this show was all over the place at times, but more often than not, it tended to lean on the side of comedy. That’s fine and all, but it’s a real shame when there was so much potential for spookiness. It’s a show about ghosts, after all.

How do you properly channel your energy? That's a personal problem I have and I think a problem others have as well.

I’m answering this under the assumption that by “channelling” you mean “draw up energy to work with, to be put into objects or sent out into the world itself.” If that is not what you were looking for, please feel free to send another ask and clarify what you need help with.

There’s a lot I wanted to say in this post, and I don’t know that I said it all, but please bear with me, it’s long. If you don’t wanna read it all, and just want some techniques, there are a couple at the bottom, but I couldn’t find too many, so if still needed I can try to share what I do too. But this is important enough to me, at least, that I felt I should say it.

I can’t say there is a “proper” way. Like, there are common techniques that work for a lot of people, but that doesn’t mean they work for all. And this doesn’t just apply to channelling, or any one particular branch or method of magic - this is all encompassing for witchcraft in general. I can only say what I know from my own experience, but that doesn’t guarantee it to be something that everyone else clicks with or can always do.

A lot of these things really take practice, and the skill doesn’t always come immediately. I feel I got lucky, it only took a few weeks before I started feeling energy, for example, but I have heard some people say it took them longer, if they ever did. I feel that is important to keep in mind as well - the progress isn’t always instant, or immediately recognizable as progress, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening, and that what you’re doing isn’t necessarily failing or incorrect, it does take some time.

(On a crazy off to the side note, it’s also hard for me to tell you any way to do this right now, because I don’t know what you’ve already tried, and I may say “do this” when you already know it doesn’t work for you, but I didn’t know it didn’t work for you. Which is why I’m giving a very generalized answer.)

But, for example. Channelling my energy has a lot to do with sensing it, actually feeling the energy flow to know I am doing it. A lot of people can’t physically feel metaphysical energy when they use or work with it. And that is cool - you don’t need to actually feel it to work with it. But then my method won’t be of any use to them, because my method heavily revolves around that aspect.

(It isn’t the right way, or the only way, and I acknowledge that - it’s just my way, and I know it won’t work for everyone, but as long as it works for me, that’s what I need for my craft, because it isn’t about anyone else. It’s by me, about me, for me. And it’s great if other people can use my stuff and it works for them, that’s why I share it, just in case it can; but I also know it won’t click with everyone, which is okay, it just means they need to find something else, which I can try to help with too.)

Or, another example, visualization - a lot of channelling methods say that is very important to do. Not everyone can do that either, though. Just because they can’t visualize, doesn’t mean they can’t channel energy. But that particular way to do it won’t cut it for them.

I have a lot I want to say on this, but my brain is scrambled. I’m sorry. I hope I do this justice, say it right, don’t come off as blunt or rude, because it isn’t my intention. I just wanna make something clear as I can.

In the end, there is no “proper” - at least, no universal “proper” - that applies to everyone and everything in witchcraft. If it works for you, it’s proper for you; what is proper for you in magic, may not be for other people, and that is okay. What works for you may also work for a lot of other people, but it is okay if you are one of the few it doesn’t work for  - it doewsn’t mean you can’;t do magic or witchcraft at all, it just means you need to do something different for the same results.

Like, think about how many people draw. And how many different styles you see of drawing. And how, looking at every person’s drawing technique, there may be similar aspects in  some, but everyone still does it kinda differently, but they’re all still drawing in the end - in the end it’s all still art, no matter how they got there. There’s even so many names for it, that may also depend on what you’re drawing or how you do it - sketching, doodling, drawing, penning; caricatures, cartoons, realism, abstract. So many different ways to get there, so many different titles and styles and whatever, but it’s all still art in the end. That is how I see witchcraft and magic.

And, like art, I believe it comes down to personal experimentation with various techniques to find what works for you. Each artist experiments with tutorials and stuff, or just wings it, to see what works for them, to get a style they like - same thing with witchcraft.

Here are some tips that I have when trying to find out your way of doing things, that may be useful for other things too, but right now I’m just focused on witchcraft. Just tips, no strict rules or “have to”s, just things I think may help you. If you like it, try it; if you don’t give a fuck, don’t. Just thoughts, opinions, ideas.

◆ Find out where your problem is in that area. This is why recording what you do and how things play out with your spellwork can be so important - you can look back to try to pinpoint exactly what it is that didn’t work out, so you can either fix it or move past it. So: what aspects of channelling techniques have not worked for you in the past? Visualization? Feeling the energy?

◇ Sometimes, focusing on those areas, and trying to improve them, can be enough. Like, people say “I can’t do this in magic,” and okay, that is fine. But how many times did you try it before you determined it wasn’t working for you? If a thing fails just once, I can’t say that is a guarantee that that particular technique doesn’t work for you, period - spell failure happens for a lot of different reasons, and doesn’t always have to do with lack of ability. I believe it is best to be sure that those things really don’t work for you at all before writing them off. So, if you find you’re having a hard time feeling energy, keep trying for a while, look up other ways you can do that, keep practicing those techniques, until you can really rule out it just isn’t working at all.

◆ Sometimes there may be more than one area that is causing a problem, or the first area you chose may not be what is actually causing the difficulty. I believe every possibility should be ruled out to figure out what isn’t working and why, as well, before determining something isn’t going to work for you at all. Again, this is when those spell notes come in handy: you have documentation of everything you did, so you can go through piece by piece to figure out what it was - or what it was in conjunction with something else - that didn’t play out as planned.

◇ If things still keep not working, do some more research and see if there is some other way you can do it. Look for alternative methods for the same technique, give those a shot - try to keep in mind remembering what you did so you can figure out what doesn’t work about it for you if that’s what ends up happening. So, if this one particular method focused around feeling energy doesn’t work, and you’re sure it’s the feeling energy part, try a method that focuses on visualization instead, and see if it shows any results.

(Rinse and repeat.)

◆ If you can’t find another way that works for you that already exists, even after all that, if you’ve tried all the methods that you can find already talked about, or from external sources… try to find one within yourself. By this, I mean try creating a unique way, different from what you’ve seen before - or maybe even just tweaked from methods you’ve already tried, keeping things that worked and discarding what didn’t. Honestly, if that is what needs to happen for you to be able to do it, there’s nothing wrong with going off on your own, away from the beaten path, and playing around with what you find there to get something magical to work for you. Just because it’s new, and just made by you right then and there, doesn’t make it “improper” or “invalid” or “less legitimate” than common or well-known methods - if it works for you, that’s really what matters.

(And I know it can be hard to know where to start when creating something brand new, but knowing a lot of theory may help direct you where to go. If you know how the other things worked and why, you can figure out what else might work and how and why based off those. Idk, I’m kinda burning out, let me wrap this up real quick.)

◇ I have found that “starting over” in a various area or technique can help me see things I didn’t before, open new paths or ways of thinking on the subject that can make practicing it completely different than how I did the first time. Try taking a look at energy work in general, not just channelling techniques, and see if anything comes out at you. Look at “beginner” posts, see if anything has changed in your way of working things from those original points, or see if any new opinions or techniques present themselves. There are a lot of blogs making content on Witchblr, and they all have a unique sort of view, that can prove handy in this sort of thing.

Trial and error, and experimentation, are really the keys here, in my opinion.

I really don’t want to say “you HAVE to do all these” or “this is how you HAVE to do it to figure it it,” but these are my suggestions and tips. And again, Idek if these things will necessarily work for you either, but I feel this will be more beneficial than just telling you how I do things. And I can still do that, if you don’t think this answer is helpful. But this is how I would look at your situation, if I were stuck on figuring out a way to do a certain technique - this is how I’d go about trying to find something that works for me. I feel like telling you how to find your own answer may prove more beneficial than giving you one of mine that still might not suit you in the end anyway.

Anyway, long overdue, here are those links I promised (there are few resources on this, which is maybe why so many people have difficulties with this area?) :

I may still end up posting my way, or other ways I could think of, because it’s hard to find info on this. So probably what I just said was all made moot because of this lol.

Did it all make sense, anyway? I hope it does. I hope it helped in some way, for someone at least. Idk. I ran out of so much steam and energy by the end there, I hope it still makes sense and I got the point I wanted to across. (I guess you wouldn’t know if I got the point I wanted to across, lol, but let me know if this proved helpful to you in any way or anything, please.) And it kinda proved wasted in the end, I feel, but that’s how I feel about figuring out how to do things “proper” or getting things to work for you. Idk. Sorry. I’m done.

i love jack a lot but i don't get everyone's excitement about dean eventually adopting him. like why would you want to force him into another parental role with a kid with unstable powers JUST when he's escaping his role with sam? i'm not accusing you or anything i'm just really really frustrated at fandom's mentality

Yeah, there’s some good posts around discussing the various metaphorical and direct representations of the bad family dynamics going on here. I think it’s possible to enjoy and dislike the same thing from different angles. I LOVE Jack choosing Cas as his father and setting his personal compass by Cas. It’s perfect. But for Cas’s sake I’m genuinely skeeved out by it because of the way Jack(’s powers) latched onto him from the womb and that it is basically what I figured all along - that Jack himself is an innocent sweetie pie because he has a soul and he is therefore gifted free will and a blank slate to be what he wants and is at the very least not inherently evil…

But his powers still did something because of his increased awareness and powers in the womb that I don’t like, which is… convincing… Cas to be his guardian. Cas being forced into the dynamic is one of the metaphorical parallels to the brothers’ issues which I’ve enjoyed the meta about, because of course Cas can still love Jack and all and have meant it because I don’t think he wasn’t acting from the heart in 12x23 because have you met Cas, that was a classic example of his heart on display. And I’m actually hoping they do have a sweet dynamic when Cas gets back. But I still don’t like HOW it happened, in the exact same way I really dig sweet moments between Sam and Dean which don’t have the complicated baggage, but I can still be uncomfortable about romanticising other parts of their relationship, and critical of how Dean was forced to parent Sam…

So yeah. Anyway, I think the thing with Dean and Jack is that it’s the goal - Sam already likes Jack and wants to give him a chance. Cas has his connection to him already and it’s unlikely he’ll hate Jack on his return :P Dean is not wrong to be upset and critical based on the information he has like @k-vichan‘s post I just recently reblogged was explaining (Sam hasn’t even told him on camera that Jack said that Cas is his father which means until we get past the point of disbelief that he hasn’t said it off-camera that’s still something we might find out later from Dean’s POV to affect how he feels about him. Although I’m usually careful not to get over-attached to what hasn’t been said on camera in case the writers start assuming it’s obvious they shared it and leave an emotional gap… But this is such a big thing it might HAVE to be said on screen or else be a gap.)

Like… Obviously the emotional hook for “coming to like Jack” is something that falls on Dean to have while the others are already seeming to be clear on it. He’s the obstacle - the thing standing between Jack and a happy families thing (so it might be a long haul or Dean is just starting to warm up when things go bad either with Cas’s return or something that happens with Jack for what will be a frankly bizarre season if they don’t tease him ~going dark~ to test him at some point). It’s like a will they won’t they on Dean liking Jack :P

And I think that in this case it’s not forcing anything on Dean when he comes to NATURALLY adopt random youngins and other hapless friends (like Garth, tbh :P) but that he has to want to do it and it is something he does instinctively because he’s a nurturer and has a caring soul. Maybe because of the Sam stuff but it’s not weird when he does it to, like, Krissy or something. It’s one of his softer traits but in this case it has mytharc relevance, since Jack is, WE can tell, really sweet, but Dean is in no position to see him for what he is, which may compromise them looking after him, and even if Jack is sweet and squishy right now, he has cosmic powers and intentionally or not he’s going to be dangerous on a huge level even if it’s just for drawing attention. I think Dean coming to like him will play a big part in reconciling this whole situation just because he’s the one who instinctively doesn’t like Jack already. And that’s something where he’s messed up with grief and hasn’t seen anything to convince him Jack isn’t a problem, so it’s set up to be a bigger struggle for him.

And that probably also plays into Dean as the emotional centre of the show - that Sam is usually dealing with the plot stuff head on, while Dean is the filter we struggle with it through. I think Dean not trusting Jack is another way of drawing out uncertainty and tension about Jack in the narrative. Is Sam wrong to trust him? Is there still something hinky between Jack and Cas? Will Jack turn bad? Even if it’s seeming quite clear that Jack is not as bad as Dean thinks by far, and Sam’s made the right call here, to go with his confidence in leadership and standing up for himself arc, playing the reconciliation to Jack’s presence in their lives through Dean is giving us (or, well, the surface level read of the show, which I pay as much attention to as I can out of curiosity as a writer about stringing appearances and cheap drama out of more complex stories and I watch the episodes from the POV of “what is the show trying to tell us” before “what can I read into this”) a more drawn out exploration of who and what Jack is and the conclusion on what his character can be.

And I think that means Dean will be challenging Jack too, and always probably be more on the side of checking if he really is what he seems or second-guessing his actions etc. It will give Jack something to grow and fight against, especially since people HATE letting Dean down and Dean is the moral centre of the show when it comes to love, humanity, what is the right thing to do, the free will choice, just generally a beacon of these themes. If Jack has to win Dean’s approval, it’s going to be a complex and satisfying story and a good way of proving we can definitively trust him. Not because Sam makes bad choices or because Jack doesn’t already seem like a good guy, but just because Dean has Standards which are so high you can define and navigate the story by them. Like Cas rebelling in 4x22. Or on the flip side, 6x20.

This is all kinda wishy washy stuff for later in the season that what we already have, though, and I don’t know how thoroughly others have thought it through or if I am missing some really obvious lines of thought here myself, but I don’t think the instinctive reaction that people are wishing Dean adopts Jack is all just forcing a new child on him, or that people think Dean shouldn’t come to that choice himself, and approve of Jack for real reasons. One of the short posts out there about it that I like is a line of spec that Dean will start to like Jack after he does a Benny - does something to save or help Cas that Dean can’t deny Jack is good any more after seeing. That’s not just wishing another child to look after on Dean, that’s a complicated series of Dean recognising Jack’s potential to be good and understanding him better or now having a motivation to reach out to him.

And I do personally find it kind of creepy to be super gung ho about Jack as any of their children - Cas for the reasons I already said although I like it for Jack and would be open to Cas being cool with it :P But Sam and Dean as well because I think there’s a lot of point scoring going on with who gets to parent Jack like it’s a token or trophy for them, unlocking a whole bunch of parent headcanons and also, and I know it’s weird to say about a 1 day old baby, infantilising Jack. I think he’s already starting to get an idea of the more complex stuff and a lot of his literal born yesterday mannerisms will disappear as he gets older, since he has an adult intellect to deal with the world, so I’m very curious about his character growth.

I think it’s just a fandom thing to be eager for the main characters you care about to have fun relationships and the idea of just giving them a kid can be appealing to some people, but it kinda weirds me out. I saw a gifset of the father reveal to Sam captioned with “Sam realises he’s an uncle” and I like that a lot more because it emphasises his brother relationship to Cas, and puts Jack in that context to him. I think since Jack said Cas is his father, “parenting” just means “we are responsible for guiding this young soul” not “I will be his father” and Sam and Dean are basically his uncles, not surrogate fathers, and I’m pretty much just gonna treat it that way, personally, since it’s less skeevy to me. That’s a YMMV thing, though, so I’m not saying you can’t enjoy the dad TFW stuff, I just don’t wanna :P

(The Claire stuff was different since they didn’t have a whole bunch of responsibility over her and the episodes she was in never made it weird, and it was a side storyline… With this it’s all such high tension it sort of feels to me like I need to draw much stronger lines, especially since with all the fatherhood parallels some/all of TFW are going to be examined through being John at some point or another… There is a LOT more going on with Jack that makes it complicated and fraught :P)

So… uh… tl;dr… I have no idea if I’m even answering your original thought any more :P Idk about the wider fandom of crack posts and cracky art, but I think the meta folks I follow are not being too weird about it or will at least entertain all the posts being critical or introspective about these dynamics and I think some crack posts are just made in the spirit of fun, though it doesn’t help NOT give the impression everyone’s gaga for dad TFW and not being very considerate of the deep dark meta stuff and character angst going on… :P

QUESTION! im designing my own squid OCs and i wanna know how you came to designing their tentacles. Did it take a few tries? How did you get to the designs you have now?

YES IT TOOK MANY TRIES OMG ;;; You know what Rocco and Emilio originally looked like??? This

For me, it was easier to design their tentacles when I grasped their personalities a bit more. I stayed towards the in-game designs ((at the time i thought that would be the most recognizable?? idk lol)) and started doodling them like this:

I never planned to do a blog or publicly post my comics about them by that point ;;;; I drew lots of small comics just for me and @myuhmyuhkisses

After I was like “fuck it, i’m gonna make a blog idc”, then i designed them to what they look like today! I gave Rocco more of a parted hairstyle based off of my old OC, and tied up Emilio’s long tentacles so he wouldn’t look feminine ((which backfired lmao)) It started with my first drawing on this blog:

Lotor loves Kova and here’s why aka Lotor is a cat person

Kova was originally Haggar’s cat and he’s basically immortal, so we should have seen him chilling with Haggar season 1-2 right? Nope, we only see Kova when Lotor comes back with his generals. Lotor basically stole his mom’s cat and took Kova with him into exile. If that doesn’t spell dedication to you I don’t know what does.

As pointed out by this post , Lotor’s armor color scheme matches Kova’s color scheme. This man, when deciding to figure out how his custom armor should look like, based it off his cat. His fucking cat. Also, the cat existed way before Lotor did. It wasn’t like they made armor and then said “now let’s find a cat for Narti that matches our sick color scheme.” No, the armor is inspired by Kova. Kova armor fashion line, if you will.

Speaking of Narti, Lotor at some point gave him to her to help Narti see. This just goes to show how much Lotor trusts his generals to look after his cat. Also, giving your general your mom’s cat that you stole? Iconic.

yo. we (white people) do a shit job of making fandom inclusive & safe. Working on a post/series of posts educating white fandom on How to Be Better. I’ve asked multiple people, but the more info I have to share, the better. While we have a some great jumping-off points, my essential questions are:

What can white ppl do to make this fandom a safer and happier place?
What behaviors do white ppl need to cut out?

Some talking points I have, based on convos I’ve already had are:

why race matters in fandom
appropriation in fandom
best practices as a content creator (i’m looking at you, White Pinterest edits)
how to respond to a callout

Anything you need to say.! Link to a post white ppl in fandom need to read, your own anecdotes, etc. You can reply to this post, message me, or inbox me.

The point is to elevate voices. Your talking points, frustrations, anecdotes, tips - any and everything is fair game. If you want me to credit you in the post(s), I absolutely will, and if you want to remain anonymous, I will absolutely do that.

Obviously, no one is under obligation!! Just want this to be specific to fandom and as comprehensive and helpful as possible, I appreciate any input!! <3 <3 <3

Hey guys, are you ready to hop on the Crazy Train? Find your tinfoil hats as I leap from the “Oh, that might make sense” discovery decrypted from the 5.4 Datamining into full on Conpsiracy Theorist mode. Full disclosure, I realize A) how ridiculous all this sounds; B) the extreme unlikliehood of this being the ACTUAL storyline is… low. But if it were. It would be a-MAZ-ing!

This my new pet Master Theory of the (SWTOR) Universe. And the answer, is not 42, as Douglas Adams might have us believe, but in fact 7-18-1-22-5-19-20-15-14-5. You can pry this ridiculous headcanon from my cold dead hands.

Spoilers, and wild speculation that grasps at the thinnest and most fragile of canonical straws, below the “Read More”. Leave your suspension of disbelief behind, because it’ll just drag you down.

What goth is really about

I feel like I need to make this posts because I’m seeing a lot of post trying to justify completely abandoning the music aspect of goth and pinning goths against goths, and I seems like they’ve completely missed the point of goth.

First I’d like to start off by saying goth is a MUSIC based subculture. What I’d like to point out is when I see people talk about this they for some reason decide to fit goth music into a box with all these guidelines (did a elitist tell you do that or something, where did you learn that bad habit?). Goth music isn’t strictly just the bat cave and original 80s post punk stuff. There’s many different genres accepted such as new wave, new romantic, deathrock, industrial, dark wave, shoe gaze, synth pop, different types of metal and other stuff.
I’m only into 80s music so I can’t name the other types but it would be awesome if people could reblog this and leave comments introducing some awesome music.

Listening to goth music shouldn’t restrict you. You don’t cut out bands just because they’re not considered goth. Same goes for appearance when your shopping, cutting, styling hair or doing your make up you shouldn’t be thinking “is this goth enough?”. That mindset is TOXIC! The only thing you should be trying to achieve is being you and you alone. Heck you won’t know if you’ll start a trend if you try so hard to look like everyone else. You think Souxsie or Nina Hagen were worrying about looking like everyone else? You could be bald and naked and you still wouldn’t be any less goth then the kid wearing winkle pickers with Robert smith hair and pale skin.

Moving on to wether you really are goth or not. Firstly do you support your local goth scene? If you said no all I have to say is why not?! A lot of newer goths seem to miss this point. You have all these newer goths wondering why the scenes not progressing. I get it, goth is so easily accessible over the Internet but if we just kept it that way all the clubs would shut down, soon all the festivals will cease to exist, the music will go extinct, goth artist will remain starving artists and the literature will be thrown in the trash bin. Back in the 80s and 90s they didn’t rely on the Internet to tell them what goth was they went out and found out for themselves and that’s why it was so alive and thriving back then. I’m assuming that a good amount of us have gone through our scene/ emo phase, even that had a music scene. I’m assuming you went to go see pierce the veil, sleeping with sirens, botdf or Jeffree star maybe owl city, never shout never? You were there supporting your scene, so how is goth any different? If you are goth you should want to support and help the scene grow so that it can evolve and flourish. The goth scene has been lacking in this department for years sadly. I promise if you give to the goth scene you’ll get a lot back in return. Just go check it out and find out if goths for you. Talk to some of the goths at a show or club tell them you’re new and interested in it, most of them will be more then happy to show you the ropes and help you learn about it.

Now on to this whole elitist talk. I’d like to point out one of my favorite things about the goth scene is it has your back. If someone is just a prick/elitist/whatever other goths will warn you or pretty much blacklist them. This also comes with a cost if you are new to the scene these people will purposely attack you simply because you don’t know better. Maybe their new to the scene to and are taking out their anger on you because their actually the misinformed one or maybe their just the type of person that gets mad when people don’t do what they want. Who knows. All I can say is you aren’t alone in your hatred for them. The goth scene does not condone this. The longer I’m in the scene and the more people I meet the more I learn about this. I feel like people have this weird misconception that all goths are suppose to be open minded and tolerant which honestly is a cute thought but not possible. No matter what music scene you go into there’s bound to be some jerks who slip through. Do not ever let anyone tell you you aren’t goth enough or that your not doing something right because it’s not exactly the way they want it done.

Check out your local scene, support your goth artists and get in touch with yourself.

Welcome to April’s Challenge!!

This month you will be working in groups to achieve points by working out in order to make your group number one!

Each Group Will Be Representing a charity.

In honor of the group that wins with the most points I will donate $25 dollars to the groups charity!

You Have Been Challenged…

You are challenged to work out as many days as you can, and keep track of the time length of your workouts.

Please keep in mind this is a healthy competition to stay motivated with working out. Please do not try and do more than your body is capable of doing, just to win. Stay comfortable, and be healthy about it.

Each week you will submit to me the days that you have worked out detailing what activity you have done to work out and for how long.

I will post weekly updates on where the standing of each group is.

How Do I Get Points For My Group?

You can achieve points based on the below point system in regards to time length of your workout.

  • 15 - 20 Minutes = 4 Points
  • 21 – 30 Minutes – 6 Points
  • 31 – 40 Minutes = 7 Points
  • 41 – 50 Minutes= 9 Points
  • 51 – 60 Minutes = 11 Points
  • 61 – 90 Minutes = 13 Points
  • 91 – 120 Minutes = 15 Points
  • Over 2 Hours = 18 Points

*Note you have to do at least 15 minutes to considered starting off towards working towards points.

How Will This Be Tracked?

This will purely be on the honor system. So please no cheating, and don’t ruin this for others by lying.

I will ask that Monday - Sunday you keep track of your own workouts and times.

At the end of Sunday/ beginning of the following Monday you will then message me or *e-mail me your weekly results so that I can mark them down.

PLEASE include the number date, time length, associated points per day, and overall added total.

*I have had a created e-mail for almost a year now specifically for this challenge that you will be given the information for at a later date.

You need to have specifics for each day, just so I know how you achieved your points

Example:

  1. 3/2 (Sunday) - 40 minutes walking = 7 points
  2. 3/2 (Sunday) - 30 minutes Gym = 6 points
  3. ¾ (Tuesday) 15 minutes jump roping = 4 points

*It is possible to earn more than one set of points in a day if you do different activities

HOW TO ENTER:

If you would like to be a part of Aprils challenge please  REBLOG or  COMMENT on this post with your 1-4 choices (*see above for details)

**If you reblog with no comment I will assume you are just boosting and I thank you**

You have until the end of April 2nd  to sign up for this challenge.

The day will come when you won’t be

Totally got this idea from @thewalkingdeadfanatic and gonna try it out. I’m gonna write an imagine based off of random episodes. I kind of changed it. If I find myself wanting to write about a certain episode, I’ll do it and post it here. None of them are related and will have different pairings.

Info: Reader is in the line up with the rest of the group. She is Rick’s girlfriend and almost like the female right hand man. Negan notices this and when he sees she isn’t scared of him, he takes her for a ride.

Warnings: blood, swearing.

“See that?” Negan shouted and pointed to Rick.

Lucille stood in front of my face and Rick was losing it. He had snot coming from his nose, Glenns’ blood splattered across his face.

“That’s how I need you to look at me, not any of this tough shit” Negan tells me.

I didn’t falter.

“Do I need to show you!” Negan yelled in my face “Simon, what’d she have?”

“A machete”

“Give it to me” Negan said keeping eye contact with you.

I saw my machete handle being handed to Negan and he took it. He grabbed me by my collar and dragged me behind him. I tried to stand up but he moved to fast. I saw Rick hunched over and sobbing on the ground, this time a snot bubble came from his nose. Then I was in the RV.

Negan sat in the drivers seat and I was on the ground. He had my machete on the seat next to me.

“That dirty look you’re giving me isn’t gonna do anything, but you know what will? You picking up that machete and driving it into my head, right now” Negan says.

I sat there and looked at my machete, I thought about it,

“Now!” He demanded me.

I grabbed my machete and leaped towards him but he was quicker with a machine gun, he stood with it at his torso. Then he laughed, leaning back and then sat back down.

“Let’s go on a ride”

>>>>>

When we stopped Negan sat next to me.

“Do you know why I brought you here?” He asked.

“To make me fear you” I answered bitterly.

“Good fucking job! But I obviously haven’t done that yet. Listen here…”

“(Y/N)”

“Listen here, (Y/N), you belong to me. That machete of yours, is mine. Your boy Rick, he belongs to me”

Negan stood up and picked up my machete. He opened the door into a foggy cloud. He threw the machete, I heard it clang on the roof.

“Get me my machete” He said looking at me.

He killed a walker with Lucille.

“Get me by fucking machete. Now!” Negan yelled and killed another walker.

He grabbed me by my collar once again and threw me into the mist without any weapons. I had to push past a few walkers.

I climbed up onto the roof of the RV. When I got up there I looked around. We were at the scene of the burning wall of logs and hanging man. He was now a walker, the ground below was infested. I fell down and then laid on my back. I could only think of Rick. Is he still okay? Will he be alive when I come back? My ego had gotten the best of me once again.

“Bet you thought you were all gonna grow old together, sitting around at a table for Sunday dinner with a happy ever after. Well, it doesn’t work like that, (Y/N), not anymore. Think about what happened. People die, (Y/N), its what happens. Doesn’t mean the rest of them have to” Walkers were surrounding me. I couldn’t do this “Get me my machete, (Y/N). Get me my fucking machete! Last chance, I really want you to try this time” Negan says.

I grabbed the machete and started to stand.

“Bring me my machete”

Negan fires through the ceiling, beneath my feet. I ran to avoid them and grabbed onto the hanging walker. I was dangling above dozens of walkers as the one I used to save myself from Negan was attacking me. I was starting to lose my grip, walkers at my ankles weren’t helping. Just as I was going to give up, someone opened fire on the walkers below. I let go and saw Negan at the window of the trailer.

“Clock is tickin’ (Y/N). Think about what could still happen”

My mind went to Carl, Judith and Rick. I climbed over the pile of walkers and realized I lost my machete in the jump. I had to think quick. I stayed low to the ground knowing I couldn’t see far through the fog. One walker trailed close behind me. I spotted it and slashed it’s head before standing up.I looked around clueless as to where I was. All I saw were walkers silhouettes and fog. Negan must’ve known and honked the horn. I slashed down walkers left and right. I needed to see them again, my family. I got to the RV but the door was locked. I kept fighting the walkers, smashing them into the side of the RV.

The door opened and Negan killed the walkers surrounding. I frantically stepped inside and closed the door behind me. My chest heaving as I was finally safe. Negan looked at me with a smile before putting his gloved hand out to me. My face curled into a snarl and i placed the machete in his hand before sitting down.

“Atta girl!” Negan says proudly before placing it in the table.

I looked at it, covered in blood. He started to drive off as dawn broke. I was tired from staying up all nigh to fighting walkers on no sleep. Ngean was silent and it was only helping lull me to sleep.

I was on and off sleeping the ride back. When we stopped is when I opened my eyes again.

“We’re here” Negan say calmly, standing next to me.

His voice scared me. I looked at him, he had a smile on his face.

“This must be hard on you. You though Rick was your knight in shining armor and he was out there cryin like a pussy, he let me take you, alone” Negan says looking though the cabinets.

“Don’t do that” I say.

“Do what? Tell the truth?”

“No, you say it to try and trick me. Make it sound like Rick didn’t want to stop you from taking me. It wasn’t like that”

“Are you sure? If you were mine, no other man would be allowed to take you like I did. Fuck no”

Negan groaned with delight when he found what he was looking for.

“Goodie” He say flipping a bottle of isopropyl alcohol in his hands.

He had a rag in his hand.

Anyways” he groaned “Rick, he was in charge. You, the first lady, right hand woman, whatever. You were both probably addicted to it. The power, ya know?” He took my machete and wiped the blood off on my jacket.”Now, I come and it’s over. But you, you can still help lead a nice productive life producing for me” He says pouring alcohol on the machete and cleaning it off “Any questions?” He asks with a smile.

“Why’d you help me out there?” I ask.

“I need Rick. If you die, who knows what Rick will do. If he leaves, offs himself or kills all his people and then himself, I don’t get my shit. Get it?”

I nodded.

He held the handle of my now clean machete out to me.

“I think you’re gonna need it”

I stared at him.

“I just got a feelin” He says in a sing song tone, smile still on his face.

When I didn’t his smile fell and his lips pursed. He squinted his eyes.

“So take it” He says harshly.

I did so.

He threw me back out the RV and onto the ground. He dragged me by my collar again and placed me in front of everyone.

“Here we are. Let me ask you somethin (Y/N)” Negan says as I struggle to get up.

My knees were sore from the gravel he dragged me on, also my hands.

“You remember what that trip was about, right?” He asked me.

I answered the question in my head.

“Speak when you’re spoken to” Negan tells me.

“To make me afraid of you” I spoke.

“Good job! But, you’re still lookin at me the same god damn way. Like I shit in your scrambled eggs and that a’int gonna work. So, do I give you another chance?” He asked crouching in front of me.

“You will, you need me, remember?” I said.

“Okay, hat’s fair. Well, here goes. The grand prize game everybody. What you do next decides whether your crap day becomes everyone’s last crap day, or just another crap day”

I looked at everyone, weak and broken. Abraham and Glenn’s brains were on the ground. Some slouched, sprawled out of sat cross legged. Maggie looked even worse.

“Get some guns to the back of their heads”

I watched as his men got guns to everyone’s heads, including Rick and Carl.

“Level with their noses so when you fire” He imitated an explosion “It’ll be a real mess”

I watched as Negans’ eyes saw who my eyes were on.

“Rick, right here” He says pointing at the ground in front of him, adjacent from me.

Rick didn’t hesitate. He stood up and stood in front of Negan. Negan removed his belt and I turned to see what was happening.

“You a southpaw?” Negan asked Rick.

“No” He answered.

“Good”

He tied my belt around his bicep.

“Alright, down on the ground, next to the badass” Negan directs him.

Negan helped guide him face down to the ground. His right arm was closest to mine and I looked at him. He had tears in his eyes.

“Simon, you got a pen?” Negan asked one of his men.

“Yeah” He answered.

He threw it to Negan. Negan crouched down and rolled up Rick’s sleeve. He drew a line across his arm and fear settled in my stomach.

“Negan, please don’t” I beg.

“Really? I’m not doing shit” He stood up (Y/N), I want you to use your machete and cut of your hubbys left arm off, right on that line”

My eyes widened at the request.

“I know, you need a minute to process that. I need you to do it or all these people, including his kid, are gonna die. Do you want that to be on you? The killer of your mans son?”

“You don’t have to do this, we understand” Carl spoke up.

“You understand, (Y/N) here, she doesn’t” He turns his conversation to me “I know this is screwed up but I’m gonna need a clean cut, like a salami slice, nothin messy, clean, 45 degrees, give it somethin to fold over. We got a great doctor, he’ll be fine, probably. This needs to happen know, or I’ll crush his skull myself”

“Negan” I whisper.

“Pick up the machete. (Y/N), not making a decision is a big decision. You really wanna see all these people die? You will, you will see every, ugly thing”

I couldn’t bring myself to it. I felt tears fall.

“Oh my god, are you really gonna make me fuckin count?”

I looked around thinking.

“Okay, (Y/N), you won this one, I’m counting

Three

“Negan, please, I-it can be me” I cry.

Two” Negan crouched down once again, he grabbed my face “This is it”

One” He shouted.

I picked up my machete as I yelled. I placed my left hand on Ricks’, when I looked at him he nodded, letting me know it was okay.

“(Y/N), it’s okay, just do it. I love you” Rick tells me.

I lift my machete, I was ready to swing but then Negan touched my arm gently and came down to my eye level. I stopped.

“You answer to me, you provide to me, you belong to me right?”

I nodded shakily.

“Speak when you’re spoken to!” He shouted as he grabbed my face again “You answer to me! You provide to me!”

“I provide to you” I answered with my voice quavering,

“You belong to me! Right?”

“Right” I say quietly.

“That” he let go of my face “Is the look I wanted to see”

I scrambled to Rick and helped him up. I crawled into his arms as he kissed my head while Negan continued to speak. He took Daryl, he looked to see if I’d do anything about it and I didn’t dare move or speak. He nodded with a smug grin. When he left I turned to Rick and held his face.

“I-I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, Rick” I kissed him and then turned to everyone.

No apology was needed. They knew we couldn’t take back what happened and that I was okay. I looked back at Rick.

“I love you. I’m sorry” I sobbed.

“It’s okay, we’re okay, that’s all that matters”

the general public doesn't even know that those labels harry was referring to like "the cute one " were LEGITIMATE POWER POINTS MADE BY SONY ABOUT THE BOYS. Like it's not even a skit, he's shading their real fucking life and how they were characterized and sold based off of how Sony wanted to market them. I'm still irrationally mad the only thing they could put for Louis was that he had Eleanor as his supermodel gf. Funny how the PowerPoint gf is back now too 🙃 Please post it if you have it.

it’s bittersweet because he made a joke out of it but the whole thing was a pisstake at their marketing strategy for him. a very real marketing strategy that was confirmed when the wikileaks ordeal happened.

A/N: Obviously I just watched Fear The Walking Dead’s latest episode and got obsessed with the cover. It’s the first fic I post, so I have no idea what to expect. It leaves a lot to speculation and may be a bit confusing until you read it all but I hope you enjoy it!

Jughead’s point of view

The glow of street lights makes his face stand out and off in the passenger seat. He lets his head rest against the window, feeling the high-speed car driving through the empty streets of the neighboring town that only his mind turns into Riverdale’s,

Home can be different for everyone. For some, it’s a physical place. For others, it’s a person. You are one of the lucky ones who have both. That both fit so flawlessly together is a gift unlike any other.

From the first time you’d brought Taehyung back to your childhood home, he fit like he belonged here as much as you. He charmed your family flawlessly just as they did him. Mutual politeness rapidly gave way to the same teasing warmth you grew up with. It matched him perfectly. Now they always ask when you’ll be bringing him back.

Just a Little Bite

For @mamin-the-troll because she’s FILLING MY LIFE WITH SUCH ADORABLE AND LOVELY DRAWINGS AND I CAN’T FUCKING RESIST, OKAY, I AM WEAK?! I NEVER USED TO WRITE FLUFF BEFORE THIS FANDOM, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!

Based off this and this post from Mamin, which inspired this fic.

As it turns out, Newt really takes to Percival - so much so that when it’s time to go home, he won’t leave with the Goldsteins as they had planned. Or any other auror. In fact, they can’t seem to pry him out from behind Graves’ legs, and when he cries as they try, Graves can’t help but stop them.

“No, no, it’s fine. I’ll take him, leave him be.”

The aurors are stunned as they watch Graves gently pick up the small boy and walk off to the disapparation point, but no one says a word to stop him.

“Does Mr. Graves know how to take care a child?” Queenie asks innocently, a small smile on her lips. Tina shrugs.

“Guess we’ll find out.”

As it turns out, no, Mr. Graves does not know how to take care of a child. He feeds him easily enough. Shrinks down a shirt and soft pajama bottoms he never wears so they might fit Newt - cutting a hole in the back for his tail. In fact, it all goes well until it’s time for Graves to attend to his own needs.

Like showering. Or just using the bathroom in general.

Newt gets anxious when he closes the door and Graves can hear his bitty nails on the other side of the door, clicking sadly as he paws and whines and whimpers at him to be let in.

“I’m almost done, Mr. Sca—Newt. Just a moment.”

He finishes his business, but he still needs to shower and child though he may be, Graves will not allow the man he has a crush on (though he’ll never admit it) to watch him shower as a fox eared child. But he can’t just leave him alone, either. Jesus, how did his mother do it with six of them?

He pauses from that train of thought - frozen - when suddenly he realizes that outside the door, Newt has become quiet. He bursts through, eyes wide and heart beating - unsure of what he’ll find.
