Claire Smith has won the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for her “meritorious contributions to baseball writing” and will be honored during Hall of Fame Weekend. This award is the top honor for any baseball writer.
Smith represented the New York chapter of the BBWAA and received 272 votes form 449 ballots. Before that she also received the Legacy Award in 2011 and the Mary Garber Pioneer Award in 2000.
