bareskin foundation

anonymous asked:

What foundation do you use???? My skin is so similar and I can never find one that covers my redness all the way.

oh shit what was i wearing in that picture…it might have been bare minerals bareskin liquid foundation in porcelain. which had good coverage but the texture is whacky if you dont have dry skin (oily? but very light..like mineral oil), didnt provide full coverage for dark scars/hyperpigmentation, and it didnt play well with my concealer

i have a lot of redness on my cheeks plus acne scars that i need covered… im a shade darker now and i currently use nars all day luminous weightless foundation in gobi + tarte shape tape concealer (for under eye and some contour stuff) in fair or fair beige. OR tarte amazonian clay foundation in the lightest shade + tarte shape tape.

if you have skin the color of my skin in that photo i would suggest nars foundation in the color SIBERIA which was my color until i got some sun and it ruined my life. everything else will turn orange from 1, oxidization and 2, the combination of your skin redness (yellow+red=orange), which can be corrected a bit by going a shade lighter/yellower (impossible if youre siberia pale thats the lightest shade you will find-seriously) OR green primer but fuck that i already have enough shit on my face (super deep pores i use a pore filling primer) and adding that color correction to the mix makes finding your color even HARDER

anyway if you get color matched in an ulta (if youre pale the only thing they could match for you is the bare minerals bareskin foundation in porcelain its the lightest shade they carry) or sephora, INSIST that they match your décolletage/neck NOT your face cus theyre gonna give you pink undertones which is a NO.

this was long winded but my foundation search went for WEEKS literally before i found something that didnt turn orange and had enough coverage, it was made harder by the rest of my body having yellow undertones, which is so hard to get in foundation if you have redness and youre super duper pale. so ya….good luck.

Hey I was wonder what's a good foundation for a face with acne. I don't want to look like I have too much makeup caked on but enough to cover my red bumps. I would really appreciate it if you answered this thankyou!!!

For a super natural look, I recommend applying a concealer on the blemishes and then setting it with a translucent powder.
It looks the most natural and is super simple as well.
Here are my top concealers:
• MAC pro longwear

• Nars radiant creamy

• Makeup Forever full cover

• MAC pro conceal and correct palette

My favorite foundations that look super natural but still have good coverage:
• Makeup Forever HD foundation

• BareMinerals bareskin foundation

• Nars sheer glow foundation

• Maybelline superstay foundation

• L’oreal infallible 24h foundation

hashtagproblematic  asked:

I have very dry skin, and I'm looking for super dewy foundations. I like the maybelline fit me original, and the loreal true match lumi is alright. So basically, are there any foundations similar to the maybelline fit me?

Hello :)

Loreal Magic Lumi and Maybelline Fit Me for dry/normal skin are the two main dewy skin foundations at the drugstore so if you can’t find any similar foundations you can always make your foundations more dewy by

  • Adding a drop of facial oil to the foundation and mix them together on the back of your hand and apply the foundation for a more dewy, glowing finish
  • Use a shimmery, illuminating primer under your foundation like Loreal’s Magic Lumi Primer. You can even mix the primer in with the foundation before applying
  • Mix in a little moisturizer or use a heavier moisturizer or oil under your foundation
  • Use a wet sponge to apply your foundation like a damp beauty blender
  • Add a finishing spray like rose water or something like NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray or MAC Fix + to help make the foundation look more dewy and “wet”

Check out foundations like

Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Foundation

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, a super dewy tinted gel and their Bareskin foundation which is also dewy but has more coverage

Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream for Normal to Dry Skin, has awesome coverage for a BB Cream and is really moisturizing and dewy!

THE TIP-OFF: BAREMINERALS BARESKIN PURE BRIGHTENING SERUM FOUNDATION

Introducing bareMineral’s first-ever liquid foundation.

BareMinerals is known for their less-is-more ingredient philosophy, so it comes as no surprise that the brand’s new bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation sticks to the essentials. Uniquely formulated with vitamin C to boost radiance and lilac stem cells to address damaged skin over time, bareSkin works like a skincare product—but also provides full-face coverage when paired with the bareSkin Perfecting Face Brush. Bonus: It’s incredibly easy to apply. So, without further ado, let’s step to it. BECKY PEDERSON

STEP ONE: Shake the bottle. This step is important. Because the mineral-infused formula excludes emulsifiers, the ingredients will naturally separate between uses.

STEP TWO: Drop 1-2 droplets of foundation onto the bareSkin Perfecting Face Brush reservoir.

STEP THREE: Buff droplets onto your skin in circular motions, starting at the center of your face. You can go back and add more drops for more coverage, but keep in mind that the brush works best if you only use up to two at a time.

STEP FOUR: High-five your reflection. You look awesome.

How do none of you look orange with make up? ! I'm a complete newbie at make up and I didn't even know this could happen. I have a special occasion coming up and I can't return it! It was expensive. Aargh. Damn you, MAC.

BRUHHH I have yet to fully master the whole not looking orange thing, bc so bad at all things makeup. I’ve been trying the BareMinerals BareSkin foundation recently, but i too have noticed that it tends to give my skin a bit of an orange look. ONE OF OUR BEAUTIFUL FOLLOWERS TEACH US YOUR WAYS WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG?? HOW DO WE MAKEUP?!

One thing that i would definitely suggest, though, is whenever you want to get a foundation get a sample of it from sephora and try it out before you swipe your card.

God bless you all

Hi!! So nice to see you back on my dash! Quick question: have you tried the new Bare Minerals serum foundation? Is it worth the $30?

Hello love!  Thank you! :)

BareMinerals BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation - $29

I have tried it and I have really mixed opinions about this foundation.  I’ll be doing a full review of it soon.  For now, I’ll tell you that it is definitely not for someone who has oily skin, who has dry, flaky patches on their skin, for people with wrinkles or creases on their face, or for anyone who wants a long wearing, transfer-proof foundation.

The BareSkin foundation is packed full of oils - good oils that have tons of skincare benefits - but that, in turn, makes this foundation sit on top of the skin without really setting, even with powder.  It has a very blowy finish, which some people will love, but others will shy away from.  Because you don’t need much of this product (just a few drops at a time), it’s a great foundation for people who want a barely-there look, and on some people it looks truly phenomenal!  But on others (cough cough, myself) it simply doesn’t work the way it’s intended.

Stay tuned for a review - I’ll actually take some before and after shots so you can get an idea of the coverage, finish, and maybe some close-ups on problem spots.  :)
