I was supposed to do a 6 mile tempo run today. My legs are pretty shredded from my 5k PR yesterday. In addition my tummy is feeling a little sketchy, so rather than tempt fate, I’m flipping days. So 3 miles today, 6 miles tomorrow.

I also got my pickle bracelet in the mail today from Kelly.

3.01 miles in 26:13. Average pace 8:44.

What are you doing in Chicago this weekend?

We still haven’t decided exactly. We’re sort of playing it by ear because we know the city will be extremely crowded all weekend because of the marathon. So we don’t want to be too strictly regimented or stress ourselves out. (This is a new travel philosophy for us…we’ve never “winged it” like this. EVER.)

On Friday (with Emily and Jeff!) we’re going to hit the downtown area. Do as much free touristy stuff as we can. Eat some pizza. Emily and I might go up in the used-to-be-Sears Tower, leaving our scaredy-cat husbands down on the ground.

And then on Saturday I’d like to do a museum and maybe the aquarium. But Jeremy doesn’t want to be on his feet too terribly much because, y’know, he’ll be running 26.2 miles the next day. *shrug* :) Maybe I’ll rent a wagon and pull him around the city. *hehe*

We’re still open to suggestions of things we “must do” while there!

I know you’re right and I do need to progress and take my training wheels off. I still feel a bit intimidated to get into that arena, but I know it is time. I will consult with my fellow lifters at the college and see what I can learn.

I believe that it will be beneficial to have some kind of instruction and tips to get me off to a good start. I don’t want you to think that I am making excuses, or just blowing you off completely. I will see if I can get some time with them this week and see what I can pick up…. yeah, I know, awesome lifting pun. :P
